Gentry was so great! Our dog, Pixel, adored her and I’m sure was sad to see her go. Our place was left in great condition! We will definitely be asking Gentry to sit again!

Jennifer stayed in my home in Milwaukie, OR, for three nights to care for my three young cats. I felt comfortable with the arrangement after our video call / interview, but a few issues arose during her stay that give me pause in offering a full recommendation. While Jennifer asked about my Welcome Guide in our interview, and I expressed to her prior to her arrival that I had filled out all the relevant information, it became clear that she did not read it at all, based on the fact that she parked her car in such a way that one of my Airbnb guests was blocked in, needed to ask for the wifi information, and did not care for my high-quality kitchen knives as instructed (specific information about all of these was laid out in my Welcome Guide). When asked about the kitchen knives (twice), Jennifer failed to respond. Additionally, Jennifer left my home forty minutes prior to our prearranged time (3:20 PM) on the day I was to return (a time based on the cats' 4:00-5:30 dinner time window), and failed to notify me (the only reason it came to my attention was that I keep an eye on my security camera notifications for Airbnb purposes). She then proceeded to text me at 4:08 PM (pulling off the road 50 minutes into her drive home) to let me know she had tidied up and fed the cats, an act which appeared to me as an attempt to convince me she had left the home just after 4:00 PM. I would not have had an issue with her leaving at 3:20 PM, had it simply been communicated to me prior to her departure. Furthermore, the microwave handle, which, to be fair, was already broken in one spot, was further damaged (also not communicated to me). The final main issue was that Jennifer left out a virtually full bag of freeze-dried minnow treats, enabling the cats to eat the whole bag; this was also not communicated to me, and only discovered after I returned home (the cats were fine, but it could possibly have caused GI issues, especially since they may have consumed parts of the plastic bag). When asked about all of these issues, Jennifer seemed to have quite a difficult time accepting personal responsibility or acknowledging the fact that she had dropped the ball re: communication. However, I believe the cats were fed their regular meals as discussed, and Jennifer left my home in generally good condition. I can recommended her with reservation based on the aforementioned issues.

4.5 stars. I appreciated Kathryn being responsive to my requests, spending time with Ellie and taking care of the chickens as well. She was good about sending photos and updates and communicating. The house was a little disheveled upon my return, just little things like cabinets left open and leaves throughout kitchen and living as if the doors had been left open - strange but nothing major - and she apologized that she had had to rush to catch a flight due to family emergency. Overall a good sit.
