Cynthia was a perfect pet sitter for our little kitty. We knew from her extensive experience with cats that Nala was in good hands. She was extremely responsive via texts when we were away, ensuring us that the 2 of them were having a great time. She went absolutely above and beyond by scrubbing our bath and toilets to remove our mineral deposit rings that we haven't been able to get rid of! She even left the name of the product she used so we can get more in the future. The house was cleaner than when we left. We'll have her back anytime!

Our review is written by Steven (house owner, host + my father) + also by Kim (the daughter). Written by Kim: This was our first house sit since the passing of my mother in late Dec 2023. I was helping my father Steven (whose profile it is) manage all the emails + try + find a great house sitter + came along Gretchen’s profile! Not only is she a cool cat + someone you might want to get to know, I found myself quickly talking to her. I shortly found out her profile is just a glimpse of how interesting she is but talking to her was so much better! She is a world traveler with many experiences + stories to share. We quickly became conversationalists who could talk forever + probably will continue to do so! Thank you TH! She is easy to communicate with + continued the consistent communication all along our journey of having her as our *first* guest after my mom’s passing. It was clearly a time filled with anxiety + sensitivity so there were some sensitive topics to go over + Gretchen got it right away. A few of our rooms in the house were off-limits (as they housed my mom’s things) but we reassured her the house has ample space for her to enjoy + there are many lovely outdoor spaces to boot! When she arrived she felt she was in paradise + really relished in the outdoor beauty + the indoor coziness. We were happy to share it with someone who appreciated it so much! She also was very understanding with the fact that both my dad + I would both be involved as we both handled different parts of the stay. Me, writing + setting up the Welcome Guide + would go over the situation but then upon her arrival my dad would take over + answer any questions mostly during her sit. The good part of having 2 people is she had accessibility to us both, in the case she needed it + sometimes it came up! She juggled all the communication oh so well. My mom usually handled most of the logistics so this being our first time we were nervous something would come up we might not know but it didn’t! It was new territory for us + we wanted to make sure she had everything. Gretchen handled it all with such ease, seamlessly, really respecting our wishes/desires + taking all the information into her hands + making it seem easy on her end to do so. She was easy to coordinate schedules with! There was a gap in her 1st + 2nd sit but everything went seamlessly even when my flight had a day long delay. She was able to coordinate schedules with me arriving in between, then leaving, my dad arriving different days + us extending the trip too. It all worked out! We were all a good team! She absolutely loved our older cat, Benny + he fast + furiously fell in love with her oh so easily. When I saw him, he looked oh so loved + after saying hi to me went over to ‘her’ bed + slept there waiting for her to come back. She sent many pictures, videos + even cute creations + toys she made for our Benny + it was obvious the house + our Benny were her first priority. She even asked us if she could help prune our flowers/shrubs, something my mom used to do + honestly it was an honor to hear her ask that. She was welcome to set up her art studio + play away. She was very communicative when our house cleaner, landscape gardener + house manager showered up for different reasons. When I arrived back for a short stint before she came back the 2nd time our mail was so well organized it was an assembly line! She also offered to take down our xmas tree (as we were a bit behind in taking down our xmas decorations) + she was sensitive to the fact that we were adjusting to a new normal. Thank you so much Gretchen! You made our first sit in a long time so seamless + such a relief that we are ready now to host again. We only wish we could have more Gretchen’s! (She’s also a super talented artist!) Written by Steven: Overall, Gretchen has been an absolute treasure. She has fulfilled our goals for a house sitter perfectly - she took good care of the house, great care of our treasured pet, Mr. Benny + took care of the grounds such as watering a few plants + trees. She excelled in all the above + is welcome back anytime I will be out of town in the future.

Sharon and Milton are two of the nicest people I've met in my life. This is my first time having a sitter fly in from out of state and it was so simple, stress-free, and didn't affect any part of me getting ready for my trip, leaving for my trip or returning from my trip. Sharon was very communicative before, during and after I returned. It just couldn't have been more wonderful! If you're considering applicants stop looking and choose Sharon and Milton. They are just delightfully wonderful wonderful people!! They go above and beyond just housesitting and pet sitting! Tidy, clean, respectful down to earth and the most kind and loving people. I do believe Milton really is a cat whisper!! They slept with my sweet babies, and even followed silly grooming instruction on one of my cats. Would have them sit for me absolutely anytime.

My partner and I left our cat Mango in Lindsey's care for a month so that we could get married. We were going from FL to ME, so it was a long way from home. We were gone for a month. Picking the right houses sitter was important. We are so glad we picked Lindsey (and she picked us). From before Lindsey got on her plan to fly down, until she was back home again Lindsey was communicative, considerate and positive. We felt like we had a family member staying at our place and because of who she is, Mango and our home's well being was a weight off our mind during the wedding. Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.

Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Amazing sitters - I feel so fortunate to have had them stay. Chapeau was treated to daily walks and belly rubs, and my cat Tica was overflowing with contentment from having been taken care of so well. The house was cleaner than I left it and I was treated to a nice note and a lovely candle upon my return. Also, they left a checklist of item that they had done while here. Truly above and beyond!

Cat and Paul were wonderful sitters - our cats were contented and calm when we returned. And the house was spotless. Plus Paul mowed our entire yard including the back meadow - what a surprise! We very much enjoyed visiting with them as well and getting to know them. Highly recommend :)

I can highly recommend Dotties Doghouse! My dog spent a week there and had the best care by a woman who understands and loves dogs, as if they were all her own. Dottie is also the best groomer I have come across. Exceptional! Cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism!!

Please don’t be fooled by the cosy looking pictures on this site, they must be very old.. i was there last week and it looks nothing like this now, in fact the place was so damp inside that the floor was slippery, there was no sign of any warm fire or blankets on chairs. I booked my dogs in here a few months ago after looking at the pictures and when I saw the state of the place I felt sick leaving my animals, Dot told me that she would be in the Kennells at 7 to feed my dogs and that she would light the range and sit in there and play with them..as it happened I got someone to go straight back and collect them only to find the place deserted, this was at 6.15pm, We called Dot and she said she was on her way to galway and said she would be back at 9.30 the next morning!!!! Our deposit of €100 was taken plus €50 for the night our dogs were left on their own, disgraceful! I also find it strange that the owner, Dot Quin Byrne, has reviewed her own business and given it five stars, see below ....

Absolutely fantastic kennels. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I left my little dog with Dottie for a long term stay and he was so happy and so well looked after. Dottie sent me regular updates of him strutting around like he owned the place. The play area is an absolutely brilliant idea and more like a holiday resort for dogs than a kennels. Dottie is a lovely lovely person who has a genuine love for the dogs in her care and she also has a fantastic way with them. My Guy absolutely adored her. Having tried many kennels in the past Dottie’s Doghouse is on a different level and I would never leave my dogs anywhere else ever again. Thank you Dottie and all your team for providing such a wonderful service.

We couldn't recommend Dottie's Doghouse any higher than 5 stars but if we could then we would! Dottie looked after Bailey the doggie and Biscuit the cat so well they hardly wanted to come home again 😉 a great set up and a safe environment and great peace of mind to know they're been so well looked after when you're away. Very reasonable rates for the Doggie and Cat Hotel as i call it. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation. 🐕 🐈 👍
Was very apprehensive leaving Marley as he's had a bad start in life and is very much a "mummy's boy" but I needn't of worried, Dot was brilliant with him and also made me feel very much at ease, I knew he'd be safe & very well looked after - which he was. He was even running around with other dogs, which was before then unheard of. Highly recommend. Will definitely be returning.

Our dog loves it and pulls the arm off me to get inside, which is a major sign that he feels safe and cared for there. Fiona &Paul are amazing, they really give it there all with the pets they have in their care , my puppy Sammy has been going their now the last few months & he loves it , plenty off areas for them too run & play , and their over night kennels are great , when I seen where Sammy was sleeping etc I couldn't believe my eyes , so clean ,cosy that I was thinking I'd nearly book myself in!! Barney is a Rescue Dog who came into my life 6 years ago , and has become my soul mate . He knows my moods and when I need a cuddle. He is Family and not a pet, and his well being is of the utmost importance so when it came to finding a Boarding Kennels I applied the same criteria that I would in choosing an Hotel for my wife and myself. A great deal of research and time went into sourcing a suitable premises that Barney would feel safe secure and loved , Happy Tails did just that. We took him to Fiona for a Day Care Doggy Day and we knew at once that Fiona ( and Paul) were "Doggie People" Their lives revolved around their own dogs and their Guests exactly what i wanted. Barney loves them and they look after him in the same caring way that I do. The Kennels are superb and the play areas enormous , and Barney being a fussy eater gets his rashers and sausages mixed with his feed .With the new addition of The Doggie Taxi it means that Barney can be collected and returned in comfort and safety. You will find it difficult to find better . Barney says Thank you but more so so do I s He is my Life and I gladly entrust him to Fiona,
Fiona and Paul are absolutely amazing. We are so happy to have somewhere that our dogs love going, where they're well treated and happy. Fiona caters for dietary needs, medication, etc, so no matter what our dogs need during any given stay, we know they're being so well looked after. Happy Tails is the best boarding and daycare facility in the midlands, if not the country. Our dogs get so excited to see Fiona and Paul, and they even have their own favourite spot to sleep. Sam has decided he's the boss when he's there and Fiona keeps us updated on all the shenanigans they get up to. We'd be lost without Happy Tails.

Happy Tails boarding kennels does exactly what it says on the tin...... happy dogs! It’s wonderfully run by the friendly Fiona and Paul who so obviously care about each and every dog in their care . The amount of space for the dogs to run free is fantastic and the accommodation is 5 star quality, spacious, clean and comfortable. I never worry about Barney when I go on holidays, he has a wonderful time in Happy Tails.
Lovely set up. Fiona is so Nice i took to her straight away.. She was happy to let us come out and have a look at where our pets will be staying before we booked them in. Not all of the places we were looking at,were so acommadating.

Just recently introduced my dog to Kloud 9 Doggy Day Care. They were very good at making sure she was comfortable with the other dogs. I was able to book a trial session and then a short session. The dogs all looked happy and content with some of them sunning themselves on perches in the rare Irish sun.
My dog Cherry loves going to Kloudz, she runs in tail wagging. Amazing, efficient staff. I can go on holidays happy that she is well looked after, also I receive videos and updates, which are brilliant to watch. Very clean and a lovely atmosphere in doggie day and night care, staff on dog duty all night incase dogs get lonely. 100 percent recommend, I wouldn't send my furry friend anywhere else. Keep up the fantastic work Kloudz. I shall put photos up on site of Cherry going on hwr holidays to Kloudz
Excellent service for all the fur babies needs. Pick up and drop off services for big and small dogs , a walking service a grooming service, overnight dog hotel or home stays.. highly recommend. My boy Buster absolutely loves his days out at Kloud 9 Dogz. He can't get out of the car and into them quick enough! And I get to go to work knowing he's happy, and very well looked after. Great peace of mind for me, and he doesn't have to spend a whole day cooped up indoors. Fantastic service ⭐️🐶😊
The team at Kloud 9 are fantastic with our dogs Layla and Toby. They really care about the dogs and making sure that they are happy. We have used their daycare service, home boarding and most recently their dog hotel. It was great to receive updates and photos of them after their stay. I would highly recommend Kloud 9 and the team! 👍
Paranoid mom is an understatement when it comes to me. Shadow was never socialised due to lockdown. Then one day while on a walk, a pitbull made his way out his yard and came straight to attack Shadow, I managed to protect him and got attacked instead while holding Shadow tightly in my arms. Since then, Shadow hates other dogs and goes crazy when he sees another dog... I sought out Kloud 9 Dogz because of an appointment I had to be at and no one was home to care for him. Shadow has never been left to stay with anyone outside our family and home. I cannot describe how afraid I was to leave him. Not sure how he would react to other dogs and also having to stay with strangers... Well, I am besides myself with gratitude on how amazing the staff have been and was so surprised to see how well Shadow was slowly but surely warming up to all the dogs around him. The staff are friendly, patient and not just with the dogs, but with the overprotective humans too 😉 They certainly know what they are doing and care very much about all the furbabies in their care! Thank you Rebecca, Robbie and all the amazing staff who took such good care of my precious boy.
We hate leaving our dog but in those times we absolutely have to - we drop him to Kloud 9 - our wee dog adores going there and playing with other dogs! All the staff are fantastic and our dog is well cared for and we know he is in good hands! Would recommend Kloud 9 to all dog owners!

We were nervous leaving Flossie for a first night away but she was fine (of course) but so we’re we because of helpful updates to reassure us. Kloud9 is a great place with people who care about your dog. There is constant supervision in the play area and this means the dogs are safe interacting with each other. Many Thanks to all the staff, we will be back. 😀
Honey seems to love her time at Kloud9. Well staffed and dogs are well looked after. Nice to have larger covered in area for when raining though. But Honey loves it no matter and is having a snooze after her fun day

We had our Barney and Pedro stay with Liz for the first time over the weekend and I am really happy. They were really well looked after and Liz was really responsive to any message I sent while they stayed. I'm a very anxious dog mam and she really put me at ease. Also brilliant value for money. Thanks Liz.
Dropped my 2 dogs off perfect health, in fact they were at the vets the day before for a checkup, perfect health, picked them up after 7 days and were very sick, took them to the vet straight away and Both dogs had respiratory infections, they claim the Kennels are heated but I don't think so, also if the dogs were monitored in the least it would have been obvious they were sick, coughing, sneezing, not eating, not active. I never write bad reviews about anything but I feel compelled to warn others that this is not safe for your animals. Avoid if you care for your dogs/cats.
My 10 month old pup Chida had a weekend here in august. I was nervous letting her off because she has a lot of separation anxiety but Liz did a great job and Chida came back with her tail wagging. I would recommend liz to anyone looking for a kennel.

We started using Shoemaker Kennels about 18 months ago. At first, we wondered if our rescue dog would take to the new environment, but our fears were unfounded - he LOVES going to 'Dog Hotel', as we humans call it. He loves going there, and he loves when we collect him, which is as it should be, so it's a it's a win-win situation for everyone. Liz and all her staff are professional, respectful of each dog's individual personality, and 110% trustworthy. We highly recommend Shoemaker Kennels.
They were able to take in my cat Tommy at short notice. Friendly staff, cheap prices and his apartment conditions were very nice.
We stopped leaving our 2 dogs Dolly and Minnie there.. the last couple of times we left then there they came back stinging to the high heavens, I can't describe it other than pure musty or dirty bedding where they must have been laying. Luckily we found Lough Bo kennels where I can't say enough of how highly I recommend them, more expensive than Shoemaker but you get what you pay for and so worth it knowing my dogs are being looked after by real animal lovers and not people are are only in it for the money.
I left my Husky only for 2 days (Thanks God were only 2) because when i picked up the Dog was all wet and full of pee and very smelly,same as his bed. The dog had a very yellow urine as he didn't drink for a while. The lady at the entrance was very rude and not friendly with the Dog,she just pulled the dog till the cage. Not recommended at all. This is a Dogs prison!!!
Lovely local kennels, very helpful staff..our dog (14yrs) was very relaxed upon collection after 1 week.

Yoda absolutely loves Jessica- he gets totally spoilt every time he stays with her- the biggest problem we have is getting him to come home with us after a stay.He has stayed with Jessica five times now and each time the level of care has been amazing. She keeps us updated on a daily basis with pictures and videos of his daily walks and exploits. Nothing is a problem for her, her kindness to and care for Yoda is beyond measure. He is already looking forward to his next stay.
My dog Ciara loves going to Jessica for boarding or the occasional day care. It is so important to me that I can relax and know that my dog is happy and well cared for. Jessica has a natural connection with dogs and they know that they are loved and respected. I really recommend Jessica
