My little puppies love it here!! They have been to Little Ponderosa the past 3 days, the past two days, they run to the front door! They do tours on Monday/Tuesday too! My favorite part of the day now is getting pictures of my little babies playing 😍 …

They are extremely pet oriented here. Our dogs love going here and the prices are reasonable for what you get. Oh, and our dogs have their first album coming out soon!

We have boarded our Bongo at Little Ponderosa for several nights, as well as taken him for Doggie Daycare on a few occasions. Bongo has gotten his nails trimmed there twice as well. He is so excited to see his human and dog friends there. I love the messages and pictures the staff sends us to let us know our pup is doing fine and having fun. Great staff and clean facility!

Could not have any better place for our Brandi to visit. Perfect for all of your pets needs. Boarding, Daycare and not to mention Annette's training! Brandi also loves her baths and nail treatments!

This is the BEST kennel we have ever used and we are so grateful to have found them!!! We have owned multiple Australian Cattle Dogs, and our current dog Bailey can be a handful. We struggled for several years trying to find a kennel that would love Bailey and understand the nature of this breed. Multiple kennels didn't work out. But from the get go, the team at the Ponderosa has not only made it work, but they love our dog Bailey, they play with him regularly (he needs lots of exercise), they send us photos, and he is happy and healthy when we pick him up! The Ponderosa is great with all dogs, they adapt their services to meet the needs to insure the best care possible. Each dog has lots of room to play, with and indoor/outdoor kennel and play yards. We are so grateful for the Ponderosa -- to finally have peace of mind knowing our special needs dog is safe and happy. Thank you so much to the owners and staff. We love you guys!

We have been bringing our year old Lab rescue to Little Ponderosa for daycare. The staff is wonderful and it's easy to see that they enjoy their job and are great with the dogs. Additionally, it's the cleanest kennel I've ever been in. Our boy is always happy from a day of play there.

Harley, our Springer Spaniel, loves his visits to Little Ponderosa. He jumps out of the car, runs into the office and heads back to the boarding area without a backward glance. He loves the play time and we love seeing the pictures the staff sends of him playing with other dogs. We appreciate knowing he is happy and well cared for while we are out of town.

Doolittle so appreciates the warm greeting and (name) recognition when we goes for a stay. You can add on services (bath, nails, etc) to be done upon your return and daily reports are sent so you can "oooh" and "awww" over your pet enjoying his or her stay.

Our dogs love Little Ponderosa Pet Resort! We love the fact that they send daily photos of your pets having a great time! We can go on vacation and know they are well taken care of!❤️

I highly recommend Canine Cottage Salem if you are looking for daycare, boarding or grooming! We started coming in September and my dog absolutely loves it. He gets his energy out, gets to socialize and has so much fun. The staff is always super friendly and they take great care of him while he is there.

Summer did an amazing job grooming our new puppy, Calli! We were nervous about who to trust and wanted to make sure future grooming weren’t miserable for her/us since this was her first grooming, but we all had an amazing experience! She looked amazing just in time for traveling and Christmas. Booking (especially to be right before the holidays) was so simple and convenient. Calli will definitely be back and we will definitely be recommending Canine Cottage Salem to friends and family.

Maizy has the best time at Canine Cottage in Salem. She is exhausted from playing all day. Such a great way to socialize dogs. The staff is pretty terrific too!!

My dog has been coming here for daycare since the beginning of the year and absolutely loves it. The staff is great and very attentive, we love how they post daily pictures of the dogs playing outside. My dog also sees Summer for grooming and she is amazing too! Highly recommend

Canine Cottage has always been a great place for us to board our Great Dane, but when the new owners took over in 2024 it has improved even more! We felt so comfortable with leaving our pup. They were so accommodating to our dog and us! Our pup is about 140 pounds and can be a handful, but they handled him with ease and made him and us feel very comfortable! You will not be disappointed when using their services.

The new owners are amazing. They go above and beyond to meet each dogs personal needs. I was extremely pleased with Summer who groomed our dog. Upon arriving, the facility is very well kept and clean. We were greeted by the owners who welcomed my hyper boy with a treat and some good belly rubs. We will continue to use Canine Cottage for all of grooming and boarding needs. Highly recommend.

Summer did SOOO GOOD on my dog. I’ve never been happy with his haircuts when he comes back from the groomer and i was so amazed today. She took really good care of him and was really nice! Will definitely be my new spot to take him! Thank you so much!

Rebecca and Corey are two amazing owners. From the moment I walked in, I felt comforted by talking to them about my dogs and previous situations at another facility. After scheduling a trial daycare day, they loved my fur babies as well. I felt totally at ease, leaving my 2 girls for a week, to be boarded in their care. I would highly recommend! 12 out of 10!

This grooming facility is GREAT and Summer English is awesome! She treats the dogs like they're her own. She is FANTASTIC!!!

We took our 8 month old rescued male Shih Tzu for grooming. The staff was kind, and attentive to our concerns with our Eolas. The cut was excellent. I recommend taking your fur babies to Canine Cottage.

Our dog struggles with reactivity, resource guarding, and anxiety, and finding boarding for her is a constant challenge. Ann Marie agreed to meet with us and give our dog a try when nobody else in the area would. She took the time to meet with us on multiple occasions to create positive associations and get a feel for how to best handle our dog. Ultimately, we had a successful 5 day boarding experience! Thank you Ann Marie and team for all that you do!

I had to board my dog for the first time ever and he had the best experience. Every person I interacted with was so kind and helpful. I did almost all my communication by e-mail and they were very responsive and helpful. Even with my appointment being very late notice and having to move it a day. They never acted like it was a burden and were always willing to help. I really cannot say enough how much it meant to deal with people who were so warm and welcoming. It really helped alleviate my anxiety of boarding my boy. I would certainly recommend this kennel.

We have used County Air Vacation Kennels exclusively since 2017 and our beloved dogs have received exceptional care there. Both my husband and I could not recommend Country Air more highly. The owner and staff are keenly attuned to the health and well-being of the dogs they care for. Roanoke is lucky to have such facility.

Country Air Vacation Kennels has been AMAZING to me and my dog, Conan. Conan is not friendly to people other than his own family and I wasn’t sure if I’d ever find a kennel to care for him when we vacationed. Ann-Marie has been a true skilled professional from the beginning. She took a chance with Conan and has taken great care of him for the last 3 years every time we have needed her. I can’t give her enough stars here!

Ask them about their training option, it's absolutely worth it! Such a wonderful place and fantastic owner. The location is also magnificent, it's much better than in a city setting. The dogs get near-constant attention, and stimulation. My dog was a little nervous at first, but when I came back she didn't want to leave. Update: I've used this fine outfit for several months now, because my dog absolutely loves them! She knows as soon as I turn onto the road that she's in for a fun little vacation with her doggo friends, and a staff that truly cares. 6/5 stars, you can rest easy knowing nothing bad will happen to your furry friends.

I cannot say enough good things about Country Air Vacation Kennels. I first met Anne-Marie when my dog trainer was looking for well-trained, low-energy dogs for my dog to socialize with. My dog was never properly socialized as a puppy and was fearful of almost everything, including humans and other dogs. Anne-Marie brought in the perfect dog to compliment my nervous one. Well-trained, well-behaved, polite, and low-energy. Then, when I was looking for a boarding place, a friend of mine told me to check out Country Air because they had such good experiences there in the past. Surprise surprise, Anne-Marie was the person running it! I was incredibly nervous to leave my dog there, as I hadn't boarded her before and because by nature my dog is incredibly scared and nervous. Ann-Marie did absolutely everything to make me and my dog feel comfortable, up to and including allowing me to check in on my dog multiple times to make sure she was okay. My dog even surprised me and ended up making friends with some of the more low-energy dogs while I was away! I've left my dog at Country Air twice now and every time I am blown away with how much time and care they put into the animals they oversee. I am and will continue to be a repeat customer here. If you are nervous about leaving your dog for the first time (or even the 100th time), just know that your dog is safe in their capable, caring hands.

Rural kennel but not too far out. Owner and employees are super friendly. I have boarded my dog twice and the whole process was smooth. The dogs have some play time everyday so I paid extra to have my dog bathed. We will be going back!

Country Air Kennels is a caring and affordable boarding option for Roanoke area residents. The new owner is a certified dog trainer and groomer and makes certain that our dogs are well taken care of and safe while they are staying at the kennel. We have 3 dogs and have used Ann-Marie’s private boarding services for years prior to her purchase of Country Air and have never been anything but pleased with her level of customer service. Our dogs are always excited to go see her and tired from playing and having fun when we get them back! My mom also uses Country Air for her dog and the staff was kind and flexible when she needed to change her return date due to weather issues this past January. A hidden jewel in the Roanoke Valley.

Cannot recommend Ron and Dog Days Pet Services enough! My precious Oliver attends daycare Monday-Friday with Ron, and it is such a relief to know he is in good hands and I don’t need to worry while I’m at work. Many people tell me Oliver is the one of the sweetest and most social dogs they’ve ever met, and I tell them it’s all thanks to Ron and the time Ollie spends with him and his doggos! Oliver has severe separation anxiety and could not be home alone or in a crate when I first got him (he would have panic attacks and hurt himself), but with Ron’s help, now Oliver is comfortable being alone whether he is loose or in a crate. Highly recommend for all training, boarding, and daycare needs!

Our puppy Chase was a little fireball , I could not manage or train him , I heard adult Ron , gave him a call , he came and worked diligently with Chase , had lots of patience, Chase was so stubborn, , he would push your last button. Ron did an awesome job with him . Chase is now still a fireball , much more well behaved . I highly recommend Ron for training . Lavon

I hired dog days pet services to care for my 3 dogs while I went to the beach for a few days and they did a phenomenal job. The owners name is Ron and he is very educated and knowledgeable in dog training as well. My dogs loved him. I don’t go out of town too often because I’d rather be home with my dogs. It was very comforting to know that they were in good hands while I was gone. Seems like they had a fun and positive experience out of me going to the beach which was unexpected. I plan to use dog days pet services for training, boarding, and drop in visits in the future and I highly recommend for others to do the same. I couldn’t be happier with the services provided!

Ron is amazing with dogs! All positive reinforcement which I loved. He was very helpful with training our 1yr pup and we just loved him. He helped me understand a few steps in training I was missing and couldn't get past. 100% worth the money and effort. Seriously can't say enough good things!

Ron does such an awesome job! I have three beagles, one of which was a puppy (because I choose chaos). He did drop-in care for the two older ones and boarded/puppy trained the other one. When I tell you I was so impressed with what he trained our puppy to do! It was truly amazing. Also, one of my dogs is skittish at first of people. So I knew it was a great sign when she ran up to him after just meeting him! This is the guy you want for all your dog services. Cannot recommend enough.

Great experience. Not only has Ron worked with my puppy, but he works with me to improve my understanding of what my puppy is communicating to me and gives me a lot of tools to be the best pet parent I can be. He has been accessible anytime I have questions, need suggestions or just to check-in on how we are doing to see if he can help in any way.

We originally found Ron through Rover when looking for someone to check in on our older dog and puppy. I’d never used a service like this before and I admit I was a little skeptical letting a stranger into our house but after meeting Ron once all my fears were assuaged! Ron first scheduled a meet and greet to meet the pups and discuss our needs. After that, he handled anything from walks, potty breaks, medications, and dinner time. He started working on some basic training with our puppy and we eventually completed a 3 week training course and our 7 month old puppy is better behaved than I could have imagined! Both our pups (& their humans) will miss Ron so much! Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Ron is, quite simply, the best in the area to care for you and your pets in any capacity. I have known and seen Ron with his, mine, and others' pets for 15+ years. His knowledge, love and compassion cannot be beat. I would trust him with my dog and have NO hesitation that whatever I've hired him to do will be done with a professional ethic and my dogs both adored him.

Ron is my go-to guy for boarding when I have to be out of town. I love that he maintains my rules/training but also provides great interaction for Simon as things are usually very quiet and non-eventful here at home. It's like Simon gets to go to Ron 'camp' when I am out of town. I love that Simon loves Ron and that's all the peace of mind I need to trust my sweet boy in Ron's care.

Dog Days Pet Services is nothing short of amazing! We have three dogs, all female and all with a high percentage of cattle dog, so lots of energy and potential for seeking top-dog status. Ron at Dog Days helped us (i.e., the people) learn how to work with our dogs to stop unwanted behavior before it began. Simple things, such as how to putt on a harness or leash while redirecting over-excitement about an anticipated walk. Or having the dogs sit and wait for the release to eat the meal that was put in front of them. I never thought the Chihuahua-cattle dog would wait for her meal, but she has learned to do this, making meal times less stressful. We've recommended Dog Days to several friends who have issues more severe than ours - issues such as nipping, guarding, or being highly reactive. It's been gratifying to hear about their satisfaction with what they've learned as dog parents and how their dogs have changed into better citizens. Very important - Ron and Dog Days' training methods are based on positive reinforcement. The love of dogs and the belief (with evidence of behavior) that they can be taught to understand what we want of them is strongly evident in teaching methods and results. We adopted our third rescue female, a cattle dog-lab mix, when she was just shy of a year old and filled with exuberance. We thank Ron and Dog Days for helping us manage her energy and get her focused on activities that can be rewarded. We **highly** recommend Dog Days Pet Services! If you put in the work to follow through on Ron's techniques, you can't fail your dog and you will have the best dog ever in your life.

I love this place. I have been bringing my dog chip (2 year old dachshund) for the past year and he has been having a blast. He has made so many friends and every time I get off work and come pick him up he is just the happiest pup in the world. I recently took a vacation out of the country and I trusted them with everything in me to take care of my dog. I called a couple of times to check on him and was told he was going great! Which I was so happy to hear as he means the world to me. Chip will keep enjoying their daycare and the prices are so reasonable. I am very grateful to have been recommended this place as all the other ones I have tried didn’t treat their dogs the best. I highly recommend lakeforest I have even spoken to the manager personally about my concerns and she was just a delight and the staff are all so welcoming and sweet. For a dog kennel they always manage to make it smell so clean and refreshing. It has just been the best experience chip and I have had. ❤️

I have boarded my dog here and taken them to the next door vet for years and they have never done me wrong! My dog always comes back happy and is just as excited when he comes back to play with his kennel friends. Lexy and the whole staff are super kind and make me feel like family.

We had several ok experiences with Lake Forest Boarding, but the most recent one has spoiled it all. We have a very friendly golden doodle who we trusted in the care of Lake Forest for just over a week while we were away on a summer vacation. We booked him for playtime everyday as well as a kennel bath on the last day. We were called a few days before pick up to inform us that they were not going to be able to give him a bath, not a huge deal. We picked him up, prepared for the stinky pup that we have come to expect after 10 days of running and playing in a boarding facility with other dogs. Instead, he smelled like the shampoo we had him groomed with just days before we dropped him off. After reviewing his check sheet, it became clear that he did not have time out of the kennel each day, or even most days. It was documented that he had one afternoon in playtime. Upon further investigation, his check sheet was signed off that he was given food on days he was not even there while it was not initialed that he was fed and walked every day that he was there. Thank goodness he didn’t require medication, because who knows if/when he had been given any medication. When we brought this to their attention, we were given several different stories and the blame was continuously passed onto someone else. The only resolution was that we were not going to have to pay for the playtime that he did not receive… We did not drop our dog off to spend 10 days trapped in a kennel alone. I am very concerned with how Lake Forest looks after for the pets we trust in their care. We will absolutely not be using this boarding facility in the future, and would not recommend this kennel to anyone who wants their pet to be appropriately cared for while they are away.

Horrible! Cole answered the phone, and was told they do not accept new patients, however they advertise at that. I was referred to by a previous customer who will no longer be going as well, due to the rudeness of Cole. I was told to give them a call, as the other groomer was having car trouble, and was told to call and get the other groomer to take my puppy, and he told me that that’s not possible, as there is not room, and they are not taking new clients. You need to inform your groomers of that, before accepting others and giving false information! If one is accepting, and the other says the whole team isn’t accepting? Then who is lying. Cole has horrible customer service, and shouldn’t be able to communicate with customers if he can’t get his facts straight.

A+ All Around Had my dog groomed and boarded many times over a five years until his passing of liver cancer. They are a caring and compassionate business.

I have been taking my 3 1/2 year old German shepherd dog to Lake Forest boarding, daycare and grooming for well over 2 years. She goes at least 4 days a week, either full or 1/2 days. I feel so lucky to have this wonderful place to take my dog. She is so well taken care of by the highly competent, professional, friendly staff. The entire staff is knowledgeable about animal behavior, socialization, training, playtime, etc. If there are any concerns, someone will call me right away. In all of the time we have taken our dog to Lake Forest for boarding or daycare, we have not had a single bad day. The fact that they offer half days at half price is convenient and economical. The facility is clean and sanitized every day. All of the staff love the dogs and have their best interests in mind. They are open 7 days a week, which helps those clients who work on Sundays. I honestly don't know what I would do without this wonderful place and the people who work there. I highly recommend Lake Forest to anyone who needs a warm, friendly, caring place to take their beloved pets.

Love the work but as for being professional they need help they never return calls and cancel appointments and no call back to reschedule very unprofessional will never go back

Very impressed with this boarding facility! The employees are polite and helpful and remembered my dogs after just one visit! They also offer unscheduled tours of the facility and that transparency made me feel so much more comfortable. My dogs are always excited to go go here and come home tired from running and playing! Highly recommend!

I hesitated to write this review and wanted to give our dog a week to re-adjust to being home but her behavior has not changed. The first time we took our dog here and came to pick her up she came home with a wagging tail! This past time we picked up our dog, the worker brought our dog out with her collar on incorrectly and her head was down with no tail wagging. She seemed very unhappy which is unlike our dog who enjoys meeting new people and playing with other dogs. Since we have brought her home, her behavior has been different. She doesn't like to be cuddled now and is very jumpy when you go to pet her until she realizes it's one of us. We called to ask if anything had happened and of course the response was no, we proceed to ask what their daily routine is at the kennel and could not be provided with one. If I was provided with some information about her stay (i.e how she interacted with the other dogs, if she ate all of her food, how long she played outside, anything), I may have felt a little better about her stay but with no information it concerns me. I would not recommend this place if you want your dog to enjoy their time at a kennel, she was only there for two days she should not have been traumatized. I would like to note the vet at Lake Forest Animal Hospital, Dr. Holly, has been very responsive with trying to touch bases with us to figure out what has happened and has provided a few recommendations to help ease her anxiety. I do recommend Lake Forest Animal Hospital with five stars but we will be taking our dog to another kennel the next time she has to be boarded.

So happy to have found Happy Hound K9 Social Club! We boarded our 2 dogs and my sons dog for 2 weeks while out of the country. The set up is perfect, they have a 2 acre fenced dog park to run and play, no kennels and the dogs are welcomed in their home to sleep on couches and dog beds.So nice to get updates with pictures and videos.Our pups were well taken care of and loved like they were their own!! Thank you Bryan and Bridget. We highly recommend Happy Hounds!!

Words cannot adequately express how grateful and happy we are to have found Happy Hound K9 Social Club! Our sweet Maybelline was boarded with them, and the care was exceptional. It was so important to me for her to have a homelike environment where she could roam freely outdoors, and lounge in the comfort of a home instead of being kept in a kennel and having restrictions on her play time. Maybelline was able to keep her routine which kept her happy and eased my mind. I was given daily updates with photos, and the attention to her care and comfort was amazing. I honestly was worried she was having so much fun she would not want to return home! 😀 I was so reassured just knowing she was being loved, and well cared for while we were away. We are customers for life!

I am so thankful that we found Happy Hound Social Club! We were away for a two week trip and I didn't have to worry about the well being of our dog for one second. Our german shepherd thrived in the pack(he loves making friends)! Koda relaxed on the couches provided, ran until his heart was content and had over 2 acres to do so safely. The care & knowledge that Bryan and Bridget provide is top notch. I even received pictures and video updates of our fur baby having the time of his life. If you are considering Happy Hound Social Club, take the leap, you won't be disappointed!

Bridget and Bryan are incredible. We can't recommend Happy Hound enough!! We recently boarded our German Shepherd and Samoyed with them and they had a great time. Our pups have never come back happier from boarding. We absolutely noticed a difference in their care from their peppy attitudes after being boarded with Happy Hound. Our shepherd has never really desired to be part of a pack when being boarded but with Bridget and Bryan she was game and spent her weekend part of the pack!! I fully attribute that to their care and sweet energy with the pups. The facilities couldn't be more lux. Acres of beautiful land enclosed for your pup to run and play. They really treat the dogs like their own. Dogs on the couches, hanging in the house. I could go on and on! If I could give 10 stars I would!

Happy Hounds K9 Social Club is awesome. We send our chocolate lab to Bryan and Bridget weekly and she could not be in better hands. Darcy, is a sweet eight-year-old, who does not run as fast or play as hard as the rest of the pack. That being said, I know that she is watched to make sure that she doesn’t do too much but also that she is having fun and doing things that she enjoys. The fenced in 2 acre field that the dogs play in is incredible and safe. Darcy has also boarded there and came home as happy as when she left. I felt very comfortable leaving her there for the weekend. The pick up drop/off service is a major plus for us as our work schedules are unpredictable. We could not ask for better care for our sweet pup and recommend them highly for yours.

I would give Happy Hounds a million stars if I could. Bryan and Bridget are beyond exceptional! They took their time getting to know Daisy (and me) during our first meeting. I was immediately at ease in their company and I could see that Daisy was as well. Bryan has such a natural, intuitive symbiosis with dogs. His calm, positive, and in-control energy creates harmony in his pack. Bridget has a nurturing, reassuring, and serene presence. She has a special knack for making dogs feel right at home, loved, and safe. I could write a book on how much I love these people!

I highly recommend Happy Hound K9 Social Club! We boarded our 2 dogs for a week and they were treated as part of the family. No kennels, the home has a dog room with tons of dog beds and dog couches! Large fields, completely fenced for the dogs to run in. We picked up two content, settled dogs. I would not hesitate to board my dogs in the future.

Our two golden doodles love going out to Happy Hound every Monday. When Bryan pulls up in the van, they get so excited and jump right in. When they come home they are worn out! It is a beautiful place where they can run and play in a "pack" of pet friends. Bryan and Bridget are knowledgeable about dog behavior, and I appreciate how they get to know each pet and each of their personalities. I get the feeling that they love what they do, and I know they take good care of our girls. We have also boarded them out there. It is great that they are not in a crate, and that they spend so much time outside. I also love that when they are there overnight they sleep in the house with Bryan and Bridget. I recommend Happy Hound K9 Social Club for day care and boarding!

Happy Hound K9 Social Club is one of the best boarding places I’ve used for my dogs. We are very particular who watches our pups. Our pups loved them and when we went to pick them up they were so tired which I LOVED!! 😂 They also kept us updated everyday with how are pups were doing and even sent some photos! Happy Hound K9 Social Club is such a gift to the lucky pups in this area! I am so glad I found them for my Great Dane, Pepper. Bryan and Bridget have thought through every detail and turned their beautiful property into a dog paradise. I know the day that Pepper gets to run her heart out at daycare is her favorite day of the week!
