Our dog Daisy has been going to A Fetching Place weekly for over a year and it is her favorite day of the week. She always comes home tired and happy. We have also had her stay at boarding multiple times (for up to a week) and NEVER doubt that she is getting the best care (incl. human snuggles, a necessity of course). We are moving away from Peterborough and are sad to say goodbye to her Fetching Place family. A Fetching Place daycare and boarding is absolutely worth it — the facility, professionalism and care is top notch!

Our dog Marty started going to A Fetching Place in November. We're new to Peterborough. We couldn't be happier. Marty is OBSESSED with going and the staff are always so friendly. Its such a relief finding a new dog daycare that we can trust.

Great staff. Friendly and enthusiastic. And all the dogs get pre-screened for compatibility.

This place is great, have been taking my pup here since she was fixed 2 years ago. She loves it, knows the place by name and leaps into car when she hears it, and is very excited to go inside when we arrive. Staff are friendly and accommodating, the dogs love them, and they are obviously genuinely concerned about the dogs wellbeing. I have no hesitation leaving my girl in their care for any length of time.

Love this day care for my dog. I've been bringing her since she was a puppy and even though now we live in a different city a few hours away, if we're doing any travelling we are happy to leave her here. Rates are great including overnights. They require your first visit to be a temperament test, to make sure that they fit in well with the other dogs which is something that I appreciate cuz I would expect the same for other dogs. But if you haven't gone there in over a year you'll need to redo the temperament test which is a small price to pay to ensure a safe place for your furry family member to stay. The staff are pretty knowledgeable and caring, and they always make you and your pets feel welcome. There's a large play space outside, and inside. The inside area does not have kennels, and instead has a large sleeping area with multiple coaches and TVs with animal shows on to keep the dogs entertained and comfortable. Plus there is always at least one staff looking after the animals.

My dog was injured under Fetching Place care, no accountability by staff. Staff were very rude, dismissive, dishonest, by lying to the owners regarding the injury, lying and dismissive about the occurrence, and referred to my dogs injury using the word “wonderful”, but that staff member did apologize immediately for stepping out of line with her words. Staff did have knowledge on my next visit, because it was the same lying staff member. That same staff member allowed me into the building, zero force was used. The injury wasn’t small, nor was it wartlike, it was an abrasion causing double sized swelling which he yelped at the touch. It wasn’t there in the morning, leading me to my question how it happened there, because if it was that painful at the touch he likely would’ve screamed during injury, and staff should have saw/heard it happen, unless he was unsupervised, and otherwise a wart on his paw would’ve been unnoticeable. I was warned by a friend of mine whose dog was attacked and suffered lacerations at Fetching Place, to which staff claimed the cameras weren’t working during the attack. I had no intentions of purchasing another care package, but the only honest thing that has been said by Fetching Place that I can agree with is that my dog Obi is indeed fantastic

5 Stars! Our Husky pup Jersey has been going to A Fetching Place since March 2021 and he absolutely loves it. When we first got our Husky pup, we underestimated the amount of energy he would have. If you own a high energy dog, this is the place for you! The day we introduced him, we knew that it was the right choice for our fur family member. Natasha and her team are amazing. They make sure our Pup is looked after, as if he was their own dog. (We joke and call Natasha Jersey's 2nd Mom. ) I love that our puppy gets to play with big and small dogs. He has learned to play nicely with everyone and understand cues when others want to play or need space. We have also noticed since he has started going to A Fetching Place he is much more obedient and calm at home. When we say the word 'walk' or 'outside' Jersey's ears perk up, However if we say' Daycare' , he loses his mind by howling and jumping around. A Fetching Place has been a game changer as a pet owner. It has been the best decision I have ever made and I am thankful to the staff for everything you do ❤ Thank you The Francis Family

Our dog loves going here. He is a anxious dog and Natasha worked so hard with him to make him feel comfortable . Now we board him for days at a time and we travel knowing someone sleeps with him at night !!! All the staff are amazing and very accommodating. I would highly recommend ☺

Last year, around this time we discovered Jurassic Bark Kennels on our search for a new family member through the Canadian Kennel Club. To our delight, a litter was on the way for English Cream Golden Retrievers. Through a thorough application process, we were selected as successful candidates and in early March we welcomed a baby girl home. Our experience with Dee and the team at Jurassic Bark was exemplary. We are happy we found them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new family member when litters become available.

We used to live in Kawartha Lakes but now in Hastings County and still bring our 2 dogs to Dee as we are confident that they are well looked after and are happy there. For us it's worth the long drive knowing that our dogs are comfortable, safe and well cared for. Dee really makes sure their stay is a happy one, wouldn't take them anywhere else!

I can’t say enough about this Kennel. I have 2 dogs Mavy (chocolate lab 6) and Bella (mixed breed 8mnths). Mavy has epilepsy and we only ever used one kennel. Unfortunately it closed and I had not found one that I felt comfortable with in a year (yes picky). I came across Jurassic Bark on luck I guess. It ended up being close to my house (bonus) instead of being the 35 mins I had been driving. I met Didi first and she is just lovely. She understood my concerns with Mavy and was more then happy to take on my loveable challenge and my bullet Bella. I have gone through a busy few weeks and both, Didi and Patrick have been nothing short of wonderful! The facility is beautiful!!! Just as important safe! The dogs have tons of room, in and outside. So in short if you are looking for kennel... this is it!

The owners are friendly and accommodating. We have been taking our dog here since she was 6 months old and shelby has always come home happy. They truly care about the dogs and their well being. Best kennel in the Kawartha's

We had a great experience with Rosie's Pet Services! Kitty made sure our 3 fur babies were super well taken care of while we were gone! It was so great to get updates daily while we were away! She even left them a Christmas gift, so sweet! Would highly recommend!

Kitty is fantastic with my little puppy Norman! She is on time for check ins and gives him all the attention a puppy needs. Her daily report cards and updates with every visit are excellent and give some reassurance that your pet is in good hands and well. Highly recommend!

Courtney and her team at Rosehill Acres Pet Resort are truly amazing. I have left my pets with them on multiple occasions over the last couple of years for both extended vacations and quick stays. My dogs have been very well cared for, loved and looked after. Courtney and her team are excellent communicators and really do care about the animals in their care. They treat them like family. If I could give more than 5 stars ⭐️ here I would. Excellent, professional and most importantly caring staff. I have a large Rotti mix and a miniature Toy Poodle. 🙏 Thank you!

Barb looked after our two cats while we were at a weekend family wedding. Barb came to meet us about a week before the event and we reviewed what needs the cats had regarding foods, medication and litter. We felt 100% comfortable having Barb in our home. Barb has been feeding my cat Connie when I am away and she has done an excellent job according to Connie. Barb takes the time to brush her after eating. Barb will also send me photos of Connie eating or sleeping (Connie's favourite activities).

Our labx has been going to Pawz & Company now for over 6 months. He hoes once a week for daycare to socialize & burn off energy. He has learned manners & is so much better when out on walks & meeting other dogs & people. He doesn't lunge & when on the Trans Canada Trail moves to one side & lies down when a bicycle appears. He just loves all of the staff & we are so happy to have found Pawz. We feel very comfortable when he is there. He recently had his first overnight stay & was treated like family. This is a topnotch facility.

Once again I have to convey my highest praise to Deb and all the staff at Pawz! My dog (a repeat guest!) had special needs this time to be looked after while we were away. The level of care Pawz gave and the staff's diligence with his care instructions are superb. Pawz treats all the dogs (and cats) as if they were their own and Pawz's dedication to their well-being is obvious. Pawz is a gem and I highly recommend them.

First grooming for our pup today and the staff were amazing. The care and time they took to make his first visit a great one was so appreciated. Our pup looked great and was happy to stay and play before we left. We will be back! Thank you Tammy and Jennifer.

I've been taking my dog to get groomed here ONLY because I actually liked the groomer and so did my dog, who is a rescue and fear reactive. Reception has zero people skills and even though I have been going regularly and pay and tip well, they stopped returning my calls and emails for absolutely no reason at all. I also don't like that they require you to unnecessarily medicate your pets with flea medication ALL year long. I give my dogs flea, tick and heartworm meds as recommended by my vet, not a boarding service. It's a shame because the groomer is great and loses out on working for a poor establishment

My dogs have been coming to this retreat for a few years now. The staff are very professional and treat all the animals as if they were their own. Most Comments that I have seen are very true to this retreat. There are some comments that are very unnecessary and uncalled regarding staff personal appearance. This is a time that the retreat is about following their own policies to keep the retreat safe from any type of outbreak they also have high standards on updated shots for safety of all the animals. Please treat the staff with respect.

I have been a client of Pawz and Company for more than 3 years and have always been very pleased with care provided to my dog. It is a great place for our pets to stay. I read a review about Pawz requesting specific time e.g. 30 days notice to book their pet in. I am thinking maybe that this person must have been viewing another website as nowhere does this state this on the Pawz page Christmas is definitely a very busy period and therefore should be taken into consideration when wanting to book your dog/cat in Deborah is always more than happy to talk with clients to discuss any concerns Pawz is the best home away from home your animal can stay

I highly recommend Pawz and Company and their staff I trust them implicitly with my doggy and believe it is the best pet facility in the Kawartha area. I have been a client for 2 years and I would never EVER leave my dog anywhere else, it is like her home away from home. The staff is caring and loving to all the animals that board here. Not only does Pawz have doggy day care, boarding and grooming, they give my dog her medication daily and tend to her needs as required. For the individual who left the review saying that they require 30 days notice, I can't seem to find that anywhere on their site and I challenge him to find a facility of this caliber that isn't booked this far ahead for Christmas.

My 2 girls love coming here, they always fun and come home tuckered out at the end of the day. The staff are kind and friendly and always take excellent care of my pups. Jen does an amazing job with their grooming and helped them to be comfortable and get use to all the grooming equipment. Pawz is their home away from home. ❤

I can't say enough good things about this place. It is the most professional, clean and friendly establishment we have ever taken or lab too. They became like family to us. Our dog Leo was so excited any time we pulled up to Pawz and Company which says so much. Deb, Peter and Tammy were always so friendly and kind. We drive 1.5 hours to bring him here when we lived in Toronto because this was by far the best place for our Leo.

I have been a client of Pawz and Company for 3 years and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff, the facility and their methods. I read a very perplexing review about Pawz requiring 30 days notice to book your dog and it says nothing on their website to that effect, where this person got the info, I have no idea. Your dog needs to go through the regular safety screening for vaccinations and flea treatment etc., then once this is completed, Pawz is ready to accommodate you and your pet as much as possible. They are pretty much booked for the Christmas season, but that is to be expected. You will never get a better home away from home for your pet, call Pawz for a tour and you will see how much they love all animals and care for them like their own.

My dog loves Charlotte! Daycare can be scary for seniors but it’s so good for them to get that interaction. Charlotte makes sure that no one gets too rambunctious and the seniors always have a quieter area to get away from the pups if you want. For boarding the dogs aren’t crated/kennelled, but allowed to sleep on the couch or a dog bed like they would at home. I’ve recommended Frick and Frack to so many people in real life!

I am extremely picky about who I will leave my dog, Trigger, with. Charlotte is absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Trigger adores her and always runs to the truck when I say “do you want to go to daycare?” and dances in the truck when we get close. Charlotte treats Trigger as if he were her own and always goes above and beyond for “her dogs”. Trigger attends daycare typically 1-2 times a week and often stays for overnights without issue. I cannot say enough good things about Charlotte and Frick and Frack Pet Resort!

Our pup Teagsly absolutely loves her days with Charlotte! She knows exactly where she is going and cannot wait to jump out and run to the door!! We have used Frick and Frack for both boarding and daycare and highly recommend Charlotte to others!! The only concern we have is that Teagsly seems to enjoy Charlotte cuddles more than she does with us!!!!

My dog and I both love Charlotte and Frick & Frack dog daycare and boarding. My dog has separation anxiety but when we would arrive at daycare she would run right in! I always felt comfortable leaving my dog for daycare or boarding. I can’t wait for Frick and frack to re open!

They are amazing, and take great care of each of the precious dogs that attend. I can tell you first hand that when we are on our way, she knows where she going and the excitement starts. My dog absolutely adores Charlotte. Thank you Charlotte for all that you do for her.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO FRICK AND FRACK!! We took our dog there for a week and when we went to pick him up he came out with a diaper on and he was covered in urine and they were so lazy they didn’t take him out and just put a diaper on him he had a rash from urine on him! DO NOT TURST THEM WITH YOUR PET!

We've been sending our Standard Poodle Morty to Long Lane for the last 6 months and he absolutely loves it there. He loves all the girls who care for him and even gives them a run for their money. As soon as we pull up he starts whining. Each pup has their own room with access to their own outdoor area. On warmer days they keep the doors open so the pups can come and to as they like. It's lovely that they offer walks and that they have a Groomer on site if you wish to have your pet refreshed before coming home. Morty also comes home exhausted which is also lovely. So happy that we've found a home away from home for Morty.

My boyfriend and I have been taking our German Belgian shepherd to the resort for several years now during the summer while we are away for a long weekend as well at other times of the year. He absolutely loves going and every time we pick him up he’s always soo tired after. We are so thankful for Amanda, Michelle and the rest of the staff for being so compassionate and accommodating.

Our newly adopted golden doodle Nia stayed with Long Lane for 14 days on her first visit and loved it! Michelle is very fast at returning your emails for bookings, etc. Their attention to detail and facilities are wonderful and they offer daily walks as well! Nia is also a regular client of Michaela for grooming and she is the best! Our last dog went thru a few groomers due to nervousness etc so getting a good one like Michaela is a treasure! She is a dog whisperer:) Thanks so much Long Lane and Michaela for great service! Looking forward to our next visit!

We have boarded our Great Dane here twice, once for two weeks and then for a week. Staff are helpful and accommodating. Hard to ask the dog how her stay was, but she seemed happy! I would highly recommend them.

Winston Wigglesworth, my 3 yr old Labradoodle loves this resort and the handlers. Next to home, it's his favourite place for an overnight stay.

They were great with my dog while he was alive However, they clearly are very unorganized because our dog died and we are still getting phone calls to board him. We told them in person, Then they called us to have him in for another weekend and we told them then “oh we thought you would have canceled those because our dog died….” They said oh no worries and We even made sure that they cancelled the other Weekends we had booked…. I guess they thought we were giving them dates for no reason because this morning, I got another phone call about my dead dog….. I’m already having a hard time grieving my dearly lost baby without a place calling me to remind me about my dead dog…. It’s very unprofessional! I don’t apologize for screaming and crying on the phone either!! Do better!!! I shouldn’t have Constant reminders that my dog is dead, especially when we’ve taken the time to cancel these appointments.

Dog Grooming by Michaela We had our 2 King Charles Cavaliers (Brahms and Bellini) groomed by Michaela on Tuesday and she has done a fantastic job! Michaela was very helpful on the phone detailing her care and attention. When I met Michaela for the appointment she friendly and reassuring; advising the first visit may take a bit longer then usual as she slowly became accustomed to the dogs. Michaela met with me during pickup and let me know how everything went. The dogs looked awesome! This was our first visit and we will be regular customers from now on. After trying other groomers in the area with varying degrees of satisfaction (two resulting in visits to the Vet) it looks like we have finally found the Groomer we have been looking for! Michaela is a star! Thank you Long Lane Pet Resort and Michaela!

Went on a walk- through of this facility to see if my anxious, totally deaf dog would be a good fit. Super friendly staff who gave us a complete tour of the kennels, exercise areas and general set-up of the kennel. Dogs never co-mingle but can see/ sniff through the enclosures. Totally accepting of taking on a deaf dog ( which is not the response I have gotten from some other places). Lovely setting on a functioning farm. Opal is set up for a 2 day stay next month!
