My healthy yorkie was boarded at this place on May 13, 2023. She left there in May 19 dead. You can believe the lies and the owners complete lack of accountability for her actions but the truth is the truth. She was given strict instructions regarding Charli’s diet and she failed to keep her safe from foods that caused her to get sick and ultimately die. She downplayed her condition and did not notify me when her condition became life threatening. She proceeded to lie and cover up evidence immediately afterwards. She bathed our dead dog to remove evidence she was left to die alone in her own vomit and diarrhea. She said she had video evidence she was fine all night but failed to produce it. Our dog died in her care. Multiple people shared horror stories AFTER Charli died. I’m not willing to be quiet and let it happen to someone else. At least people can make an informed decision. I got ONE phone call saying she had thrown up and had diarrhea. Based on the answers I got to my multiple questions, it was decided we’d wait a little bit and see if it continued. I was told she’d be there with her for SIX MORE HOURS and also that she’d be monitored via camera all night. I asked for her to please call me back if it didn’t stop or if her condition worsened. She assured me she would. Next call I got was at 9:45 the next morning saying she was dead. It absolutely says everything anyone would need to know about this owner’s character for her to act as if she offered multiple times to take Charli to the vet. She said twice..”I can take her to the vet if you want me to”… but when I asked how she was acting…you know…basically tell me what you’re seeing because some diarrhea and vomiting wasn’t unusual when she ate something she wasn’t supposed to…and she assured me she was fine and up walking around. The truth is…Gods honest truth…if she’d have said “she needs to go to the vet” I’d have said “take her immediately”. For reasons only known to her and God, she made me feel Charli was just experiencing a little tummy upset and the next thing I knew she was gone. When I said “you let her die” she said “I did everything I needed to do”. What that meant to me was … she called me and fulfilled her legal obligation even though she never expressed any sense of urgency AT ALL and assured me she’d call if Charli got worse. Charli did get worse and she never called me back. Again, the lies further solidify my feelings about her lack of integrity and morality. As for the court case … The case was supposed to be a small claims case and ended up being an actual “trial” situation and we were blindsided. We had not hired an attorney because we were under the impression there were no attorneys involved in small claims. My boyfriend filed the claim so he was forced to be the “attorney” and that left me as the only witness. We had no questions prepared..only had our story to tell and that was not allowed. I even asked could I please tell my story and was told no…I could only answer basically yes no questions. Every question was either objected to or every answer I gave was stricken from the record because her attorney objected. We were railroaded and ZERO evidence was able to be presented. It was over in 5 minutes basically because he dismissed the case. The judge said, in his conclusion, “I don’t even have any evidence that the defendant was told about the dogs diet restrictions”. The defendant admitted in her criminal trial that she was told and that she did allow her to get ahold of treats she wasn’t supposed to have. Insane. The judge was also one we hadn’t seen the prior 3 times. At the conclusion of her criminal trial that judge told us he would see us back for the civil case and to remember the burden of proof was a lot less in the civil case than the criminal. He asked questions and he knew the evidence. When we showed up, it was a totally different judge and handled in a totally different manner. There was no not guilty verdict after hearing the evidence. It was dismissed because we were unable to present a shred of our evidence.

We leave our babies with no one but Miss Laura and they absolutely love her! Her house is large with a play yard and she truly loves every dog she keeps. We once left our oldest dog with a vet and she lost 17 lbs and was never let out, as well as “outdoor play passes” had to be purchased separately. Since then we have added a new baby to our family and no one keeps them but Miss Laura. They are always so excited to go there and we have zero worries knowing that they are in excellent, loving hands. ❤️

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Laura. We have used her for daycare, and multi-day stays. Our dog Chewie loves going there. As soon as we pull up into the parking area, he wants to get out of the car asap and can't wait to get in and play with the other dogs. We chose Paws & Tails because it is like a dog park, except better since Laura or her husband are watching them and interacting with them during the day. We couldn't find any place like Paws & Tails in the area.

My Standard poodle goes there everyday. She is great with the dogs. My dog loves her very much. It’s a very clean, kept up place. He’s always well hydrated. I would highly recommend. Laura is awesome

Our Red Heeler, Chewie, has very happily stayed with Laura at Paws and Tails Hotel for daycare as well as overnight stays during our trips out of town. We are thrilled to have this unique service available to us! Other pet care businesses we checked into offer only kennels where dogs are kept separate in concrete runs with fencing. Paws and Tails Hotel has indoor and outdoor areas where friendly dogs may run and play together. Our Chewie loves this set up and we prefer it as well. Laura keeps her building and grounds very clean and our pup is always treated very well. We drive from Damascus, VA to use Laura's services. She is kind, professional and best of all, she loves dogs. It shows in the loving care she offers to her clients and their human parents. As soon as we arrive in the neighborhood of Paws and Tails, Chewie sits up and gets excited. When we pull into the parking area, he cannot wait to get out of our truck and get inside to see Laura and play with his friends. We feel that is a very high compliment to Laura!

Laura took such wonderful care of our sweet Pete so many times during his golden years. He had separation anxiety and hated the traditional cage-run kennel. But he loved it at Laura’s because he was free to go in and out as he needed, always surrounded by other doggies and Laura, who takes the time to get to know and love all dogs in her care. She was so good with our elderly dog who had many health issues. It was such a comfort to be able to leave him there. We only wish we’d found Paws and Tails earlier!

I left my Yorkie at Paws & Tails while I went on vacation in July and I was very impressed with the facility and with the owner. She took really good care of my sweet Jadirah. She keeps it so clean and it smelled so clean. Definitely will be bring her back next time I need her.

Thank you so much, Laura for taking such good care of our sweet Ruby! We are moving to the area and needed a new place to board our 9 year old dachshund when we are out of town. I went by first to look at the facility and meet Laura and was so impressed with how clean everything is and Laura’s kindness. Ruby was taken care of exceptionally well while we were out of town. Laura was so sweet to send me pictures everyday of Ruby playing and getting snuggled throughout the day and letting me know she was doing great! Thank you again, Laura! We will see you again soon!

I do not know the owner, or the dog parents of the dead dog, but in all fairness, if I was asked, do you want me to take the dog to the vet, I would have said "Yes". Urgency in one's voice is subjective, and it is up to you as a dog mom to make those judgement calls. Sounds like this could have happened anywhere you left him. An older dog with health problems, why not take with you? I do, there are pet friendly hotels everywhere you go. I even take my two dogs to beach and board at K-9 Cabana, at see them daily there. I must give rating to post, but I am planning to try but have not yet tried this facility.

Had a GREAT experience there. The owner is clearly a huge dog lover. They were running freely around and she had excellent control over them. The place is clean and my dog May was very happy and healthy when I picked her back up. This will definitely always be my spot for keeping my dog when I go on vacation. The prices were good. They may be a little more than other places but I will gladly pay when i know that my dog will get excellent care. Can’t put a price on peace of mind! I was able to fully enjoy my vacation and not have to worry about her. I will add that when I’ve boarded my dog before in other places, she was always mad at me when I picked her up. That wasn’t the case this time at all- she was happy and bouncy and didn’t even want to leave! I’ll gladly trust this place with my pets from now on!!

We always use Animal Farm to take care of our dog while we are away. Sarah (the owner) is so friendly and caring for Ginger. We absolutely love her. Each dog has their own exercise area and if it gets cold the inside is heated. We've used Animal Farm for several years now, and we've always had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend!

She does a fantastic job with the animals, The only thing I would recommend is to bring a nice warm bed or a blanket for your animals to sleep on as all she has is a concrete floor. Aside from that, we've left our dogs with her twice now and it's been a great experience both times. She has fair pricing and she does make sure that all of the animals are fully up to date on their shots before accepting them.

They took very good care of our dog the two separate times we went on a week vacation. They would play with him, including his favorite game of Chase the water from a water hose. Each time they were very friendly and it was reasonably priced.

They did an amazing job with my dog. Made sure they knew what to do and also gave me their card in case I wanted to call and check on her.

Wonderful people that took such good care of our babies. So patient with us as we had to change our reservation three times due to hurricane Florence. It is so clean I don’t know how they do it.

I have taken my dogs there for years now and they have always been well taken care of. Super nice and friendly staff that genuinely care for the pets...definitely recommend!!!

Kountry Kennels is THE BEST!!! Kim is a wonderful pet host and her facilities are outstanding!! The kennel is a clean, well maintained barn that's climate controlled year round for the pet's comfort. She also takes care of medication requirements as requested and will even dip into her personal stash of peanut butter if the puppers are being stubborn! The runs are kept nice a clean and she works with the animals to make sure their needs are met. Our finicky puppers refuse to 'do their business' on the easily cleanable concrete so she manually takes them to the grassy run as needed. We've used Kountry Kennels twice and will gladly return every time we need our puppers boarded!! Bring your pet's bedding and toys so they have their 'creature comforts' with them during their stay and they'll be just fine! Thank you Kim!! Winston and Skyla

This place is the best place to keep your for babies. The facilities are very clean, and I know the owner and she absolutely loves fur babies. She will treat yours as if it was hers.

I've never used this place...and doubtful I ever will after seeing this circulate. Propane heater turned over, dog hanging outside an upper lever deck fence.... doesn't look safe to me. I know my dog would jump if he seen a cat or squirrel. Please make your fencing smaller. Chickenwire over the current is a cheap fix and secure the heater.

They took great care of our Sam. The facility is great and she had a nice indoor/ outdoor space while staying there. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again in 2 months when we travel.

My Luna Love's going here when we go away. She's bordered there 3 time's so far and will be going back in August. They take such good care of the animals! I always get a report from them when I pick her up. They tell me how she did with the other dogs, how well she ate, and if there were any issues. They divide the dogs by size if they have a dog that's a little aggressive they will remove that dog and put them with other dogs more their type. They really do watch them all very closely to make sure they're all safe at all times. They are just super nice people! I can't say enough good things about them. I'm so glad I have a place to bring my dog and know that she's going to be fine and happy 😊

Patty is wonderful with our cats! We have pretty complex routines with them. She went around with us, seeing how we do things, and took detailed notes. She takes personal interest in each of them. She does a terrific job taking care of them, and stays overnight house sitting and hanging out with the pets. Her rates are very reasonable for all she does! We recommend her highly!

I would recommend Patty to anyone. I have been using Patty 6 years now as a dog sitter and she has never let me down. She is easy to contact and keeps me updated about my pets when I am not home. She sends me pictures of what they are doing and never forgets to check on them at the agreed upon times. Patty will care for you animals like her own.

Patty is so nice and was great with our cat, Zeke. This was our first time ever leaving him alone so we were very worried to leave him by himself. However, Patty sent pictures and updated us on her visits with Zeke. We will definitely call her again to sit with Zeke in the future and will recommend her to anyone.

Very knowledgeable staff. Always friendly and ready to help. More of a pet supply store than a pet store, but they will order pets for you. In store they have betas, goldfish, hamsters, bunnies, and guinea pigs. They carry a wide variety of pet foods and supplies. They have lots of "feeder" options including crickets, worms, and mice of different sizes, and a fully stocked frozen section. Overall a great store

I love the quality pet food lines that this store carries. I have a very fussy cat, and he has a very sensitive tummy. I've found several different brands that he loves and tolerates very well.

The staff here is awesome. We moved to town about a month ago and needed a self-service dog bath.. they have one and lots of pet essentials!! Lots of stuff I've not seen at other places. We priced our dog food there and was pleasantly surprised at the price. If you do their frequent shopper program, you can save even more money!!!! This will definitely be where we shop for our boys!

The staff is so friendly and helpful here! I had been searching for a ferret in the area and had no luck until I was referred here. Getting my baby girl here was one of the best decisions I've ever made! She's so sweet and affectionate, and she had clearly been well taken care of. I highly recommend checking Pet Partners out for your small animal needs!

Highly recommend! Monica worked with my pup, Tucker, who had some severe anxiety and aggression issues. The training made a HUGE difference for him. He has been able to be out in public, which he was not able to do before training. He is much less anxious and is all around a happier pup!

Initial visit with Monica Willie was determined to drive her away biting her. Before the interview was over, she had him more accepting. His first few days with her were a struggle as he growled and snapped. After 3 weeks with her constant updates you me with pictures and videos he is back home and with a much better attitude! Like any training we will continue what we all learned from Monica and look forward to continuing what she taught him. I highly recommend Teacher's Pet K9 Training!

Monica is absolutely amazing! We rescued our little Bella in February and she was a shell of a dog, the shelter we got her from discouraged us from reaching out to a trainer but I’m so glad we didn’t listen! Although Bella has a long way to go I know Monica will be there every step of the way. We are so thankful to have found her and 10 out of 10 would recommend her to ANYONE needing help with their pup!

When I got my terrier mix puppy, Doris, I was excited to have a new walking companion. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I worked with her, our walks turned into being pulled incessantly, Doris being anxious/reactive to cars, strollers, joggers, etc. I also had to listen to shrill, ear piercing barks throughout the walk. I knew I needed some help! Thankfully someone recommended Monica and from her first consultation visit, I was so impressed with her. We continued with in home training sessions and then a board and train. Monica has such a positive, insightful and reinforcing way of working with dogs and Doris looked forward to her training sessions and showed improvement with each visit. Her walking manners are incredible now and her house manners have improved so much. I especially appreciate that Monica also wanted to help educate me to work more effectively and confidently with my dog. I think I have always been hesitant to use a trainer and felt like I could do it myself. Now I can see what a difference it can make and am so thankful for Monica’s insight and help.

I have a highly energetic and cray cray rescue puppy who I couldn’t do anything with. After 2 weeks training with Teacher K9 Pet Training, I have had a very peaceful afternoon with my girl. Monica has been a Godsend! We have two rescues who had some difficulty adjusting to their new home. She helped tremendously with both. One had some aggressive tendencies, and is now the sweetest baby! The other was incredibly reactive with fear aggression and little to no self-control; and has changed dramatically! Yogi loves Camp Ruff n More. He goes into the back with staff eagerly and seems happy upon pick-up. All of the staff are very nice and good with him.

I dropped my Dog off today for a Meet and Greet. I was told he did really well but seemed very nervous and anxious. He is an only pet, but I was told he will more than likely calm down after a few times of being here. He goes for his 1st daycare Friday, so hopefully he will do better. Very upset. Every time my sweet dog has boarded, he has been injured or hurt. Staff seems to be sweet and loves my dog when I drop him off and supposedly they have cameras watching everything but every time I pick him up he is injured....To the point that I have to take him to the vet. Please, do not let your dog board here.

The staff are friendly and nice. My Leo loves it there. He can’t wait to get bk to the other dogs!! He gets so excited when he goes there!! I like taking him to Camp Ruff!!

Trial visit went very well…..my Doberman was happy and well taken care of during his visit. We will definitely be using Camp Ruff and More for daycare.

I was a little nervous that both of my dogs would not do well in a different environment, especially my senior dog . However they loved it. When we picked them up they were extremely happy and were very well taken care of. They will be going back. We plan to use camp ruff to board them while we are on vacation. We know they will love every second.

We were very pleased with the care given to Callie Jane our chocolate lab. The staff were very nice and friendly. This was our first time boarding, but we had such a good experience we will do it again.

I am so glad they got to care for my baby at the cat clinic. My Salem had a blockage and they did everything they could for him at a not outrageous cost like the emergency vet clinic was. The staff and Dr. Shannon Hyder didn't mind when I called every day to check up on his progress. Dr. Shannon always explained everything well. Price estimates are very clear and they take care credit. Here's a photo of my cutie. (It's not from today because he's currently high on pain meds haha)

This office is so very professional with GREAT bedside manner. Our 22 year old chihuahua had cancer. We let her live out her days until she started having seizures. We knew it was just time to say goodbye to our baby. While waiting to euthanize her, she went into a seizure. The staff immediately took her to the back and worked on her. They stopped the seizure and allowed me plenty of time to calm her. She was so relaxed, but still alert and knew I was there for her. They allowed me to pet her all the way thru the process. So kind and respectful. They arranged the cremation right there. They didn't hit me for more money to treat her seizure. 1st class all the way around.

The Doctors and staff here are wonderful! They care for the animals and they show respect for the family members. They are always mindful in their time with treatment and thorough in explaining cases and medications.

We have had so many good experiences with Jones AH, from the ease of simple checkups to compassion shown during the loss of my 16 y/o feline baby to Dr. Bodenhurst taking her time to earn trust with my GSD who has severe anxiety. They have saved a foster pit that I had from heartworms and my daughter's puppy (at the time) from PARVO. We are currently having a dental issue and another medical issue that is being taken care of with them. I highly recommend them!

Very compassionate with pets. Dr. Allen helped with my dog, Arthur who needed health care but was very fearful. He and staff were very professional as well as kind. We greatly appreciate the time and patience from all the vets and staff with all our pets.

I love this animal hospital. They are the best around! Been going here for years! My dog oochie doesn't really like it but he don't like anyone other then me lol but all the vets here are awesome and very kind, the guy that works the front desk is my favorite!!! He's always so sweet!

The people at the front desk are rude everytime we come here, they act like they hate their job. they use very rude tones, the person who worked on our dog was nice, we are yet to see if he was right we just got our dog back. It’s freezing, which is understandable and loud. And it takes FOREVER for them to Serve you, we waited 4HOURS just for someone to even come in the room, when we left it had been 5 and a half hours. Unbelievable.I don’t recommend coming here unless it’s your only choice. Just my opinion….

THEY MISDIAGNOSE and KILL. DO NOT GO TO JONES!!! They misdiagnosed my cat and now she is DEAD. She died tonight. I had a second opinion from West State Street and they stated she never had thyroid issues after viewing my cats chart. They basically had me starve her for a YEAR on thyroid food. Told me to not switch or we would ruin her thyroid levels that we worked so hard on. I spent hundreds of dollars on food and checkups (begging for help) to just cremate her tomorrow. I had west state do a whole work up on her and she was fine as far as numbers. Jones also stated she was in liver failure. In which wasn’t true. Then wanted to do imaging. Mind you my cat had been in every month almost because she kept dropping weight and it was the same story. Don’t feed her anything but the thyroid food and they’d just send her home with a steroid shot. Jones you’re a money hungry business. You care nothing about pets. I will be looking into a lawyer as well. I hope people read this and take heed. Murderers.

Jones Cat Clinic was the only vet in the area that was willing and able to take a look at my cat when he was suffering a severe ear infection that left him with neurological damage. They hospitalized him, nurtured him back to health, and saved his life. He went from not being able to stand or eat to happy and ready to great us when we picked him up. They also were very accommodating with my limited communication methods during Hurricane Helene that left me with no power, cell, or internet for days. The vets were extremely compassionate, very knowledgeable, and all around skilled. On top of it all, the prices were beyond fair and reasonable, which isn't common in veterinary practices in this area. My experience was enough to switch me over to their services going forward. Highly recommend this animal Hospital!

They came through at last minute for Christmas, much appreciated! Professional, organized, attentive to detail. Prices reasonable for drop-in cat care. Communications app they use is easy and user friendly.

We used this service for the first time this last weekend recommended by a friend. We were very nervous leaving our furbabies alone after not leaving them in over five years. Their attention to detail, the through updates and play by play for what happened when they went to check on the animals really put us at ease. The pictures posted are some of the many pics they shared with us for the updates during our trip. We also feel this option is the most affordable way to make sure our pets were cared for while away making travel much easier and a little bit less stressful overall. They use a very sophisticated app for scheduling, communicating, and updating us which makes everything super easy, accessible, and mainstreamed. The updates made it entertaining to see what our little furbabies were up to each day.

Metha and her team of pet sitters are awesome! I am so happy I found them. They take great care of my cats and send so many pictures and a report for each visit. It gives me peace of mind to know my fur babies are taken care of while I'm away.

We use The Prefurred Pack for all of our pet care needs and have for at least 2 years in a very regular basis. We depend on them for daily pet care during the week when my husband and I are working as well as having them stay in our home for pet sitting when we are on vacation. Metha has always taken pride in providing top notch care for the pets as well as always having the best, most well trained staff. We have never had any concerns at all having anyone from her service coming into our home because we know that we can trust Metha to have trustworthy and dependable employees. Our pups absolutely love their sitters and I love knowing our boys are taken care of. My absolute favorite thing is the app that is utilized that gives me real time updates about when they arrive, as well as a full personalized summary of the visit written by the employee doing the visit that day that includes tons of pictures and a full visit report. I also love that o can schedule everything on the app as well as pay and view all past visits and invoices. This business is truly the best of the best and l take pet sitting very seriously and have never been anything but thrilled with our decision to use The Prefurred Pack.

Metha Reed is the owner of this pet sitting company. She came out personally to examine our situation on how to care for our country pets, cats, dogs, and horses. While we were gone, she sent timely updates and photos. Her level of care was exemplary, especially in this age where everyone seems to do just enough to get by. Highly recommended.

Bark Bound is the absolute best! My dog Nash loves to go for daycare and boarding and doesn’t want to leave when I am there to pick him up! All of the staff treat him like he’s their own and are all so friendly. Kingsport is lucky to have this amazing facility!

We take our basset hound, Maggie, to day care for socialization and exercise and she is so well cared for. She loves it and we love knowing how good they are and how worn out she will be when she comes home. We boarded her there for our vacation in September, which was also great. We never had to worry about her and Bark Bound went out of their way to help us out with a couple of extra non-scheduled days when we had delays trying to get back to TN following Helene. One of my smaller dogs, Cassie, has been escaping out of my backyard for the past few weeks. (She's been driving me absolutely insane... being continually outsmarted by a 4-year-old pup is a major hit to the ego.) 😁 I believe I finally have the fence entirely secured, but I wanted to give her a bit of an outlet for her energy and separation anxiety. So far, she and her sister have only had their initial visit to BarkBound, which was one day free of charge. I was extremely concerned because Cassie can be a bit territorial and I wasn't sure how stressed she would be at a daycare. When I came in to pick her up and get a tour of the facilities at the end of the day, she had the biggest smile on her face. She was having an absolute blast playing with the other dogs and it made me so incredibly happy to see what a fantastic time she was having. Everyone I spoke to there was extremely friendly and obviously loves dogs! I'm very happy I took my pups here and I look forward to bringing them back again in the future. They both completely conked out for the rest of the evening when I brought them home. I also thought the price per day is extremely fair and the combo price for my two pups going together is even better.

I’ve used dog daycare and boarding services before in other states with other dogs so I was fairly familiar with the process, but BarkBound’s facility and staff are above and beyond any expectations I’ve had. Not only are their services priced amazingly but their staff work with the dogs in ways that show true compassion and respect for the nature of the job. Roxie’s naturally an incredibly energetic dog, and her time with BarkBound has her coming home happy and exhausted. She enjoys it so much that once we get close to their location she loses her mind with excitement!

We absolutely love BarkBound! All the staff are super friendly not only to us humans but also to our pup, Mushu! Mushu is a nervous guy and can be aggressive towards people he doesn't know but he was never like that at BarkBound. They let us bring him in for a temperament test to make sure he would be comfortable staying there before we committed to more frequent visits for daycare and boarding and now Mushu is a regular.

Absolutely love this place!! One thing I’d suggest though is making a spot in the app where the workers can post pictures of the owner’s dogs from their day at daycare. A lot of the times I take my dog there, she never gets posted on social media and it concerns me cause I just wanna make sure she’s doing okay and having a good time. I think adding that feature would really help!!

Come rain or shine, BarkBound is always there for us when we need a place to "park the corgi." Keeva loves to come play and socialize with the other dogs. She thinks of Jeff and his team as her second family, and they always take such good care of her. Keeva is so happy to be a Bounder! ---Susie

Thorin is always so excited to go to BarkBound. They take such great care of him. And he always comes home ready for bed.

Roxie has had a couple of day care visits and a long weekend board with BarkBound. She’s loved it! She comes home exhausted and is waiting at the door the next morning because she’s ready to go back. The facility is clean and the staff is caring and attentive. No complaints.

Yogi is a high energy puppy that absolutely loves to play. At Barkbound, he can play with others in a fun and safe environment. The staff are knowledgeable about animals and are very courteous. After he was fed supper, he was ready for bed at 7:00. A puppy tired from playing all day is a happy puppy. We will be going to BarkBound several days a week.
