Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

"A relaxing and long time away from home made possible by the best pet & house sitters we could have asked for!" Judy and Steph went the extra mile over their entire one month stay at our home. Both our cats became fast friends thanks to the care and dedication provided for them. We were routinely updated with spectacular photos of our furry girls throughout our leave that helped us be anxiety-free the entire time. Even our older shy cat spent time sleeping on their laps or hanging out on shoulders. As for the house, Judy and Steph left it even cleaner than when they arrived! We had a few tasks to maintain the lawn and potted plants outside, which were completed perfectly. They even tended to our vegetable garden where needed! During a 'risk of severe hail storm' alert, Judy and Steph kept us in the loop and went even further to place potted plants under shelter out of harms way. In summary, we recommend Judy and Steph and would happily have them return again if our schedules cross paths.
. We were absolutely delighted with the care Summer provided for our cats. Without a doubt, she is the best cat sitter we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her attentiveness and genuine affection for our cats were evident in every interaction. Throughout our holidays, she kept us constantly updated with daily pictures and detailed updates, which gave us immense peace of mind. Additionally, she maintained our house in immaculate condition, keeping everything clean and tidy. This level of consideration and dedication went above and beyond our expectations, and we deeply appreciated her efforts. Summer’s exceptional service made our holiday experience truly worry-free and enjoyable.
Anna was an excellent sitter - she took great care to understand all of the intricacies of taking care of the house and cats, asked lots of questions, and arrived on time and ready for the sit. During the trip, she checked in with updates, and upon returning home, left the space tidy and clean. The cats were happy and healthy, and seemed to have had a great time during the sit. Thanks Anna!
Kathy and Ron have sat for us several times in the past and have always been excellent. They are our "go-to" pet and house sitters and we always check their availability before we post a sit. They are trustworthy, organized, communicate very well, and take great care of our cats and our house. We hope they will continue pet sitting for many years to come!
Cung is a diligent and communicative cat sitter and house guest, and we'd highly recommend him! We hope to have him back again soon
Wow, what a find Justin is! I feel as though I won a lottery. As I was revelling in the communication we were having during his stay, I looked over his profile and realized either that he had updated it during his stay OR I never even read it. I was so impressed with his initial application that described multiple stays taking care of cats in Turkey that I knew he was going to be a great choice. So I'm not sure that I even read his profile or reviews. Turned out...he was more than I could have EVER hoped for. Justin is VERY organized and clear with his communication. Just as--or maybe more--important, he is a poster child for what zeewoi can be: more than just an economical way to get a pet sitter or a place to stay. Justin embraces the barter economy and the opportunity it presents to get to know people. Although we only met the day that I turned the house and my 2 cats over to his care, we had delightful communication throughout his stay. He wanted to be sure he was providing the right care to all living and non-living elements of my home as well as just chat beyond what we'd had an opportunity to cover when we were face to face on the handoff day. Bottom line: I'd have Justin back even if I wasn't going anywhere! I've met a friend. And my neighbors did as well! Oh yes, and my two cats were well looked after, the house was in ship shape, and Justin was able to brief the next sitter in person (I'd had to extend my time away and Justin already had another commitment). To say I felt confident leaving my pets and home in Justin's care is an understatement. Justin is a real adventurer and believer in the power of both human and animal connection. Without a doubt, I would recommend him as a sitter...and a friend! Thank you, Justin for a great example of how to wrestle so much more meaning out of zeewoi.
Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Your fur babies would be lucky to spend time with her. Thank you again for everything, Ruthee!
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Kathryn! I needed to extend dates for the sit after we had set it up and she was able to accommodate this so was actually here from 10/4-20. She was timely and communicative throughout - and she is a very nice person. She kept the house really tidy and followed all instructions well. My cats took to her quickly. When I returned, they had been very well cared for and seemed fully content even though I'd never left them for long before. While away, I reached out to Kathryn by text several times regarding deliveries, etc. She was very prompt in responding and adept at handling issues as they arose. I highly recommend Kathryn as a house sitter - and would happily work with her again!
Danny and Jo did a great job caring for our 3 cats and fish AND lots of plants (and home of course) while we were out of town for 3 weeks. We came back to a very clean house, sheets, and towels all clean and folded and fresh sheets on the bed they were using. The plants were all alive too, which is a first for us (again, we have a lot of plants!). The cats were happy to see us and they were all accounted for (a past sitter lost a cat for a week - they escaped outside as a non-outside cat). Everything was in its place and looked great. We received regular updates (via text) with photos of the cats lounging about which was important for us. Danny asked good questions when they visited us before the sit, and when reviewing our pet/house sitting instructions. The only thing we noticed that was different was that our 2 young cats were a little lighter (not necessarily a bad thing) but we understand that being gone for that length of time can be stressful on our furry family, which almost always affects their eating habits. All in all, we would definitely have them again!
Cat and Paul were wonderful sitters - our cats were contented and calm when we returned. And the house was spotless. Plus Paul mowed our entire yard including the back meadow - what a surprise! We very much enjoyed visiting with them as well and getting to know them. Highly recommend :)
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $19/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
We have been using Golden Acres for many years. Anne has always given our pets the care and attention they need including administering medications and keeping us informed of our elderly dog sense of comfort. It’s hard leaving your dogs when you’re out of town but I’ve been able to feel comforted that my dogs are well taken care of. They have the ability to be taken out and walked and I have the ability to keep all three of my small dogs together with their own beds for comfort. We’ve always felt comfortable talking to Anne about any issues we may have concerns about with our dogs. Our three just spent nine days and when we picked them up they were happy and warm and ready for home. Highly recommended.
We’ve boarded our dogs here for about five years and highly recommend them! This family and their staff are amazing and they care for your fur babes like they’re part of the family. They go above and beyond what is expected and are very accommodating. If you’re looking for a great boarding facility that actually cares, this is the place to go to. I wouldn’t leave my dogs with anyone else.
When we moved to Michigan, finding a quality boarding facility was a priority. We feel so lucky to have found Golden Acres. Anne and the young employees are always welcoming and review our dog's needs upon arrival. Anne cares to text or call when something atypical happens (yes, our dog, the counter thief, ate a corn cob). Highly recommend!
I have been boarding my dog at Golden Acres for 10 years, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Anne is a very caring, friendly person, and the fact that she is a vet tech is a definite plus! The kennels are spotless, heated/cooled and she even has music for these pampered pets! Golden Acres and Anne get a 10+ in my book!
I've been using Golden Acres for about 2 years now. My pup was a rescue, so I had no idea what his background was. I took him to another boarding place in Ann Arbor which was expensive, but they socialize the dogs and that's what I was trying to do as Buddy was very anti social timid and scared around anyone but me. Unfortunately he got attacked the second time I used them by another dog. I was so thankful for Anne to try with Buddy. She took me on a tour of the facility prior to his first stay. I explained my situation with him, and she patiently took time with him. He absolutely loves her and so do I.
We recently boarded our dogs here for the first time on the recomendation of our pet groomer. After a week we returned to find our dogs happy and clean. Golden Acres is better than other kennels we have tried and we will definitely be back.
Boarded my 2 dogs here 3 different times. The animals didn’t seem to mind going here however on all 3 occasions, the dogs returned to me with an abundance of left over food. We specifically wrote down feeding instructions and taped it to the food container. We also sent treats for the dogs with instructions and the treats returned to us all 3 times basically full as if none were given. The first 2 stays were for almost a week at a time and both times the dogs came back to us skinny, ribs showing, and spine showing. The third time we boarded our dogs, we measured their food exactly plus 2 extra meals. We were only gone for a few days and when we returned, there was enough food left over that clearly showed the dogs may have been fed once per day at most. I spoke with Anne the owner and she proceeded to keep telling me that she was a vet tech for 13 years and that one of my dogs had “soft stools” and that I just don’t understand. She also stated that she administers medications and foods of her choice to the animals whenever she feels it’s necessary without consulting with the pet owners. Not once did I ever receive any feedback from her good or bad. She’s not a licensed veterinarian but tries to dictate what the animals are fed and how much no matter what the pet owner instructions are. I get the feeling that she is more interested in the dogs she breeds and sells and she wants as little mess as possible in the kennels so the pets just aren’t fed. I sent a blanket from home and dog toys and neither appeared to be used for my dogs. Anne said that she gives the dogs towels that have been donated over the years. I really question what goes on behind closed doors as no one can enter the building due to Covid restrictions. Pet owners, just be aware of my experience and judge for yourself. Best of luck!
Golden Acres Boarding has a wonderful facility and accommodating for my large husky. They are attuned to my dog's needs adding extra walks and communicating with us to make his stay as stress free as possible. I would highly recommend!
I looked into boarding my dog here. After speaking with Anne, I don't trust her. I love my pets. They are my family members. I got a bad feeling. I wouldn't go here. Tecumseh is a pet friendly community. I took my do to a vet/kennel on Occidental hwy. EXCELLENT 👍 Maybe Anne had an off day. I refuse to leave my pets with people I dont feel comfortable with. What happens when I leave? 😥😥
We, and more importantly our dogs, love Anne and Paul/Golden Acres! We have boarded our dogs at Golden Acres for many years and have always been highly satisfied with the care they receive. I never have concerns about the dogs when they are with Anne and Paul and their staff!
My dogs LOVE Sue and the team. This kennel's force free approach to handling my dogs works well for them, especially the more sensitive ones. It is a fairly small kennel, so it is less noisy and stressful than larger facilities.
We have taken Cooper for training, also have boarded him there when we are out of town. He is so excited when we pull in the driveway.
The lady is vary sweet and kind, my dog was in great health when I picked him up and seemed vary happy.
I'm very happy to have a place that I'm comfortable leaving my dogs. Sue it great with them.
Patience with my 8 year coonhound Penny. After 6 weeks we are getting some behavioral improvement.
My crazy dog went there for training and the lady does a very God job
Great place for boarding dogs!
Great owner .comfortable facility
