Seàn was an amazing pet and house sitter! He was super communicative and took amazing care of my dog Nala and cat Bruce. They were happy and loved while I was away- I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for the two little fur babies! He sent great pictures and checked in every day so I had nothing to worry about. On top of all that, he also kept my place immaculately clean and left my place in wonderful shape. We can’t wait to have him back to sit and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for a sitter!
Florence and Robert were outstanding sitters. We asked them to arrive a day early as our guests to learn the routine on our farm. In getting to know them we found them to be good hearted, down to earth people with a love of animals and diligent in learning our routines to care for our poultry, cats and dog as well as our garden and orchard. Not a typical or easy sit. We travelled with ease knowing our critters were being well taken care of. Arriving home, the house was very clean and looked well cared for. The animals were healthy as were the garden and orchard. Out pets missed them when they left – our dog stared down the driveway after them until their car was out of sight. It is nice to find sitters we would like to hang out with and we look forward to having them sit for us again.
There are not enough words in the English language to express my deepest gratitude to Teresa and all the amazing love and care she showed my sweet cat Milo. From the moment she met Milo, I knew there was going to be a very special bond. He instantly relaxed when he first met and already looked so happy and at peace with her. The bond between the two of them only seemed to get stronger and stronger with every day that I was away. This two-week trip was so important for me as it was the first real "vacation" I had taken in a few years. I was in desperate need of a mental and physical break and knew that in order to have a true "time off', I needed to feel completely at peace with Milo being well-taken care of. Well my prayers were answered as Teresa was the "cat whisperer" I was hoping for. I could not have asked for a better, more compassionate, self-reliant, and intuitive sitter ! Teresa was also so diligent in sending me her daily picture and video updates of my cat. With every picture and video I saw, I knew that Milo was so happy being with her and I never worried for one minute while I was away. What a gift ! Teresa was also a serious life-saver for me as literally an hour before I was leaving for my trip, I found out my cat's tracker app was not working and after a few emails and phone calls, we found out the tracker's server was down. Teresa took the initiative to follow up with getting the tracker to work again which was a HUGE stress-relief for me . She is not only wonderfully savvy with animals but also with technology as well ! I feel so fortunate to have Teresa in my life now, not only as an amazing sitter for Milo but also as a wonderful friend for life! Thank you, Teresa for everything.... Milo and I so appreciate you .....
Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
Catherine was wonderful! She took care of my cat and house while I was out of town and left and Jack the Cat very and calm and the house in perfect shape which I so appreciate. I could return home and attend to other things rather than cleaning house. I would recommend her as a sitter to anyone. She was easy to communicate with, provided updates and pics of Jack, willing to jump in and assist me as I left or returned. She has a sweet and warm personality and enjoys what she does with house sitting. Thank you Catherine!
Hannah and Joseph were brilliant sitters - totally reliable and trustworthy. Quick to respond to queries and their past experience with dog/ housesitting was very apparent. Our 2 dogs and 1 cat were well looked after and the house was spotless on our return. We are totally happy to recommend them.
Kimberly was absolutely wonderful, and we couldn't have had a better sitter for our first experience with zeewoi. Marshmallow loved Kimberly instantly and our cats (who can be a little standoffish) opened up right away with her. She asked great questions that helped us tailor our Welcome Guide to make sure we could be good hosts. Thank you, Kimberly!
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
Anna was a wonderful sitter for our furry friends. My dog, Luke, bonded with her and was sad when she left. My cats would crawl under the covers and curl up with her at night. She is a true animal magnet and lover. I highly recommend Anna to anyone who wants their pets to recieve first class love while away.
Lindsey watched our cat and dog for a long weekend when we went out of town. She was a very communicative sitter sending frequent pictures and voice notes with updates. She did a great job of following their schedules and giving them attention. The animals seemed to be happy and relaxed when we returned home and I believe Lindsey enjoyed getting to discover all of the eateries our town has to offer. A win-win for everyone!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least 20$ per visit, per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
I brought my two Great Pyrenees here for grooming for the first time! They did an AMAZING job with both of them. Both came back happy and looking beautiful! I highly recommend, and have set up for our next appointment. I’m so grateful to have such outstanding groomers so close to home. Their customer service is outstanding as well! Thank you Floof!
This place is a great little gem, and I feel grateful that we are able to drop our pup off a couple days a week for daycare. She has an absolute blast, comes home tired and happy. Even better is that Floof does grooming too, so it's been easier to keep up with her coat now. I love them, couldn't recommend them more!
Excellent groomer ladies that care about my fur babies!!!! Without these ladies my pups and I would be doing the dreaded walk of shame to the bathtub. I had given up on groomers til these ladies. I had done the typical chain store groomers didn't like that process for my pups own well being. Tried a few mobile groomers but never got any appointments. The first mobile groomer came highly recommended and great reviews out of Alton but the owner wouldn't respond to get an appt then finally got an appt and she didn't show or call then on the last interaction it was not very nice so I said I'm not going to trust her with my pups. The 2nd one was not taking any new clients. The 3rd mobile groomer out of Ossipee did respond to me but was charging double the money of all the other groomers. I'm so very thankful, grateful and appreciative for Floof. My pups love them and I know they are being properly taken care of just by my pups behavior and demeanor when I come to bring them home. Super great people super great place and a big bonus they are affordable. Will not bring my pups anywhere else.
Perfect place for my very nervous dog, Sadie, to get her nails trimmed. Maddie is patient, and so kind. Maybe a groom some day in the future.
Did an amazing job with my Ada pup! She looks and smells like a brand new dog! Highly recommend!
Great place. Sandy does a great job on my Black Lab
Caitlyn looks and smells great!
Thank you Hunter! Poppy is such a fun girl to have at daycare ❤️
Thank you Gail!
Thank you so much Rose! Happy we could make sweet Abby feel comfortable:)
Our dogs and our cat spent over a week here while we were away on vacation. They were well taken care of and relaxed and happy upon our return. They were treated like part of the family with lots of attention. We were wary of trusting someone again after a negative experience at another local provider in Alton. We will never take them anywhere else as long as Country Paws is around! We have recommended Country Paws to friends and neighbors and they have all been pleased!
Sue is awesome! We brought our 3 dogs to her and they seemed to have a great time. Super clean and lots of room for the dogs to run and play. She even hand fed our senior dog. Would definitely recommend Country Paws.
Delighted with Country Paws!! The registration process was thorough but painless, the prices extremely reasonable and the facility delightful! Our two Scotties are sometimes skiddish around other dogs, but were properly assimilated into the pack and completely relaxed. Already recommending Country Paws!
I brought my 2 10-month-old puppies to Suzanne after a terrible grooming and daycare experience at another local doggy daycare. I was looking for socialization and a place for my hound dog to stretch her legs in a fenced in area. I knew my dogs had a fabulous time because the second time I brought them there, their tails started wagging as soon as I pulled into the driveway and they couldn't wait to get out of the car to say hello to Suzanne. Suzanne's doggie daycare is small so she has a chance to interact and take care of each dog individually. She also has a huge fenced in yard for the dogs to play together. She did take her time letting my dogs get introduced to the other dogs there, which let me know that safety is a big concern of hers. Every time I pick them up – they are absolutely exhausted and super happy. I can't say enough awesome comments about this daycare. Thank you, Suzanne! 💟💟
Suzanne watches my two Vizslas whenever my husband and I have to travel for work. It means so much to us that our dogs are safe, healthy and have a great time when they stay with her. I wouldn't think of leaving our dogs anywhere else!
Suzanne is so awesome. She always sends me updates and pictures of my dog when he’s staying with her. She has a huge fenced in area. Prices are also great!
Great place! Lots of room to run and other dogs to keep your dog happy! Very affordable prices as well!
We boarded our dogs here for two weeks and it was like a little country club escape for them. Would definitely come back here.
Suzanne is awesome, my dogs love going there!
Owner was very concerned about the pets in her care.
Since being under **NEW OWNERSHIP**, we LOVE The Bed and Biscuit. The new owners made us come back! They loved our dogs as their own, and we had no worries after dropping them off. Bec and DJ have a ton of experience with dogs - daycare and boarding. They kept us updated about our pups. I recommend The Bed and Biscuit to everyone.
UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!! We left our 2 dogs here for a short weekend getaway. Having known Bec for years- she was the first one we called. The facility is fresh and modern. Bec is a true lover of dogs. My boys came home clean, happy, and utterly spoiled rotten (in the best possible way). Would 100% recommend and we will definitely be bringing our boys back!
We chose Bec and D.J. to board our dog and baby LuLu while we are on vacation. Let me be the first to say this was the best decision. Because and D.J. treat our baby like one of the family. I was so nervous because you hear horror stories but Bec has taken pictures for me, texted me and made me feel so so comfortable. My baby is happy and probably won't want to come home she is having so much fun
This place is so great and the owners are incredibly. They were flexible, loving to my baby, and all around awesome. It’s a great business!
Boarded 2 dogs and a cat here for a week long vacation. Came back to one dog acting anxious, and the other one had lost quite a bit of weight. He always ate his food without issues, but when he came home, he would eat a bite or two before acting frightened and refusing to eat anymore. After many attempts over almost 2 years to rectify this, he started to eat normally. The cat was also affected negatively. There is quite a bit more that I could disclose but this review would become too lengthy. Just suffice to say that we would never take any pets there again and will never recommend this business to anyone elae!
After a long day at Alton Bed and Biscuit, Allie B is resting well! She loves her time here with her dog friends and people friends. She never wants to go home! Thank you Debbie!
Our pup stayed here for a weekend, no issues whatsoever. Pros: Online registration made drop off seamless. Very friendly folks made the experience less stressful for us and our dog. Cons: The website they ask you to use to register could use a facelift. There's no options to pay with credit/bank card or digital payments. Bring cash or your checkbook, or you'll be making a trip to Alton circle. Overall, we'll be back if we ever need it again.
When I dropped off my dog, the lady who greeted me at the desk was civil. She took the dog and he seemed totally fine, going outside with her to get used to the property. Three days later, I picked him up, she asked me which one was my dog, which I found pretty unprofessional. She said my dog barked the entire time. She mentioned something to me about having a German Shepard there that "really goes for it" I'm not sure what that meant, but it sounded like aggressive behavior to me. She said my dog must have anxiety, which he does not have. She said she changed his room a few times but nothing made him stop barking. She said it was air conditioned in the rooms so he should have been fine. I wanted to ask how frequently he was let out to play or exercise, or have human contact, or if he was just moved from room to room. Then she said she would not accommodate my dog again, as if I would give her the chance! I was pretty shocked and upset to hear he had such a terrible time, I didn't say anything. I couldn't wait to get get him out of there. I brought enough food for him for a week, and even though he was only there for three days, she didn't return any of the leftover food, which was also pretty unprofessional. No other boarders we've used have ever complained about our dog. In fact, we use the same two places regularly and they both know and love our dog. They send us pictures of him during his stay and he is usually playing outside and having a great time. I only chose this place, because it was only a couple of days and so close to the location I was staying. Our dog was joining us on vacation after the weekend. To top it off, she never called me to say he was having problems. I was staying in the next town over. I would have come got him in a minute if I had known he was having a problem. When I picked him up, it smelled like bleach in the drop off area which was pretty overwhelming. I noticed my dog had been given a bath too. At first I thought that was nice, then I thought maybe he was covered in drool or something from other dogs. We had booked him his own room so I'm not sure if that is what we got or if he was just lumped in with other dogs, like the German Shepard who "really goes for it." Anyway, the price is really cheap-$25 per night, but you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this boarder because she made no attempt to even try to contact me to say my dog was experiencing distress.
Warm, loving experienced care! My dog has been going to Alton Bed and Biscuit for 2 1/2 years, since she was 4 months old. She goes twice per week for daycare (socialization, burn off some energy) and stays there when we are on vacations. The owners are professional and down to earth. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure my Jack Russell mix is happy while keeping her out of the trouble she is so good at finding. I tried another place that is on my way to work but found that AB&B is worth travelling 10 minutes in the opposite direction for. I know my dog is safe and sound with them and if the need should arise (it hasn't yet) I will be contacted immediately. I also love that I can drop Willow off and arrange for her have a bath and or for her claws to trimmed up during the day. These people are the best!
Let me just say that our six year old Harley is spoiled and she has never been to another boarding facility since she’s been born. We have had the comfort if we needed to board that she would Just go to where she was born but they have downsized and with school vacation and our getaway was last minute they couldn’t take her Let me just say my anxiety was through the roof with the thought of leaving her with someone else. Debbie and Chris were gracious enough to let me bring her for the day so she could get used to the facility and two days later I brought her for a five night stay. Chris was very caring and thoughtful as I was a blubbering fool when I dropped Harley for just daycare. I had a really great experience with bed and biscuit and look forward to bringing Harley to play with her new friends again
Jen is the best with dogs. She understands the needs and comfort of each individual pet and exceeds in making sure they are happy ! I have been bringing my dog here for years and will absolutely continue to do so. He loves it!
Jenn and the entire staff at CBK have been a great edition to our "support team" for our bonded pair of very scared rescue dogs.. The first time my wife and I went was to see if they would be willing to take our dogs Muffin and Blue. We were very honest with them about how they attack our older dog, and how they feed off of each others reactive behavior. Jenn sent us pictures the very first night and showed us that the girls were settling in. She stayed late to play with them and earn their trust having them run around in a safe area. We often have to go out of town very spontaneously and CBK always finds a way to add them to their roster. The dogs always come back to us smelling good and with new bandanas on. We have asked CBK to give hygienic baths bc the dogs have had accidents, and they were happy to give a bath if the dogs soil themselves. The entire staff is great with the dogs. They work together to give my dogs the best care possible. Our dogs take pills inside of cheese balls and the staff are able to administer their meds exactly as we have asked. I got a tour of the facility. It's homey, in an old barn, there is a little retail store that is always stocked with toys and treats you can purchase for your dogs. I was surprised to see that they had great facilities for boarding cats too. There's nothing fancy about the facility. They have many different dog yards. One of the yards has a pool for the dogs. All the daycare dogs are supervised to make sure that all dogs are safely in the right play groups. I highly recommend Country Brook Kennels. We have had the dogs at other facilities but it's the staff at CBK that's great!! And the prices are affordable!!
I recently started bringing my dog here and I have been happy with the experience. Staff are sincere and clearly love and understand dogs and their idiosyncrasies. Dogs enjoy much supervised outside time with other dogs, depending of course on their abilities to play with multiple dogs at one time. I look forward to a long term partnership with CBK. Thank you!
Our dog loves boarding there. The staff is very friendly and our dog is always excited to see them! Also do a great grooming him. Highly recommend!
Told women yesterday when I booked my husband and I were going to look at new jobs for him and that I get paid when we pick up our dogs (most places make you pay a small percent and the rest at pick up) she said that was perfectly fine. I called to switch the dates because my husbands interviews got moved and I told the women that and she kept saying they can't watch our dogs while we move. Nobody is moving at all. If we did have to relocate for employment that would not be for a long time as my house isn't even for sale yet. Women I talked to yesterday was made aware all of this and booked me with no problems. I talked to a women today to switch my dates and she's making my head spin. I ended up hiring somebody from Rover for a lot more money because this incompetent women keeps insisting we are trying to board our dogs long term because we are moving. I never said we are moving I said he's going in an out of state job interview to see if there are better opportunities and she has it glued in her head that we are moving and not going to pay. All I needed was five days of boarding to figure out our plan and I would have paid the money. Clearly there is a reason they are so cheap.
They do a wonderful job taking care of my dog bandit and I just call The spur-of-the-moment and they took her right away I'd like that Kind of canal. And my dog loves it there. And my Goldie used to go there too before she passed away and they took real good care of her.
Everyone seemed nice, but I paid $32 for my dog to spend the whole day there and only play with one dog for a few then sit in a kennel even longer until he's able to go out again. If there's not enough dogs there for him to play with I expect the employees to interact and play with him, instead of mindlessly sitting down outside not doing anything. Or my dog outside by himself not doing anything. I have my own fenced in back yard...bigger than their play yard, If I wanted him to do nothing I would have saved the money and kept him home.
My dogs were boarded there while we went on vacation. Jen was great with my pups, she was very informative and made me feel at ease, they loved her! The place was very clean and so were my pups, All the girls were great, very friendly place
Our dog Monty was boarded there and he received top notch care. We are very happy with the service that was provided.
We have been bringing our new puppy Ringo to CBK for the past month and one or 2 days of overnight kenneling for my adult and puppy Shiloh Shepherds. I have used them in the past. I find them very professional and reasonably priced. I bring my Shiloh Shepherd puppy there because it is helping him with socialization with other dogs and this is so important with Shepherds. It has been difficult to enroll the pup in training classes due to COVID so the day care is great for him and the staff is wonderful! He comes home nice and tired!
We've boarded and groomed our dogs at Karla's for many years. They are wonderful, caring people who truly love animals. The accommodations are excellent, clean, and spacious. When our dogs return from Karla's, we tend to sit around the fire listening to them reminisce and tell stories about all the new dog friends they made (and the old dog friends they had a chance to catch up with), which is nice.
We have used Pet Rendezvous for several years with our old lab, but then he passed and we haven't been back for a bit. We now have a puppy and I am glad to see that the daycare is still as good as it was. The staff at the counter was friendly and gladly gave us an update when we called to check-in on our baby. Our young lab came home tired and happy. What more can you ask for? I do miss the old report cards, but I'm sure it was difficult to do for a bunch of dogs.
We brought our 1-year old husky here for grooming... and his coat was a total nightmare. He got quilled a month before and his coat got matted and destroyed, way beyond something we could work on. They fixed him up completely and must have been very kind and gentle with him because he's a shy boy but he seemed totally happy. Really awesome experience with a REALLY tough case!!! Would highly recommend.
They are always super friendly, efficient, and prompt when we call and drop off the dogs. We never have any issues booking daycare. One of my dogs is anxious and needs slow intros and can be nervous around new people and he is always excited to be at daycare. They give us a detailed description of the day and how the boys did in the pack. The prices are very affordable and they offer a military discount. They also updated their hours recently to accommodate those of us who work early.
My dog loves to come here while my family goes away. Always eats well and the staff will even take daily pictures and text them.
Long story short: DO NOT leave your cat there. The place is dirty and reeks of dog. The staff does not know how to handle a frightened cat. I left my guy there August 5-8, and I am still kicking myself for not turning around and leaving the moment I walked in the place. If you want the long story, here it is: I needed a place for my cat, Purr, while I was in town for a conference. I should have known I made a bad choice when I walked in to a bad smell. There was a hint of bleach behind your basic feces/urine/dog kennel odor. Purr was scared, so I asked if I could help get him settled. They hesitantly allowed me to do that. The cat room is not at all what I expected based on the description and pictures on the website. It is not separated from the dog area as the description states. It is in a separate room, but you can still hear and smell the dogs. The ‘cat condos’ are hard laminate without anything soft for the cats to lay on. I took a towel in for Purr to have something that smelled like home and then they offered to put a cat bed in for him. That should be standard practice. Purr was hissing and growling, so I went to see the ‘cat condo’ to get him settled in. I asked them to let him come out of his carrier himself. I sat with him for a few minutes. He was still not coming out of the carrier, still hissing and growling. The handler who was with me didn’t seem to understand my instructions to allow him to come out himself instead of forcing him. I told them to wait until he came out on his own, no matter how long it took. The handler seemed puzzled by my instructions. When I picked Purr up, I asked if I could come back to the cat room to collect him myself. They said they had worked with him and they could do it. I know they man-handled him into the carrier because I heard him screaming and screeching. 😭 He was in terrible condition. He smelled like the kennel and urine. His coat was a mess. He had a glazed look in his eyes. I immediately went to Pet Smart and got dry shampoo and wipes. The soft-sided carrier I left with him reeked of urine and kennel. I had to go to get bleach, go to the laundromat and wash it. Purr and I have recovered, but it is the worst experience I have ever had with a pet. Never, ever, leave a cat there.
I brought my Copper here for a 2 night stay. It's Copper's second time here. When we arrived, I asked if Copper's nails be trim. By the time I arrived at my destination, I had a email from Pet Rendezvous saying they scheduled a nail trim for 7 am the next morning. I had to cut my trip short, which cut Copper's stay short too. I called to let Pet Rendezvous that I was going to pick up Copper early. It was no problem. They did a wonderful job in trimming his nails. I trust them with my furbaby💜
We love North Conway so were so glad to have found this lovely place for our pup to get the puppy vacation he needs too! Our Pumba is always excited to see the staff, and has had a healthy, safe, and fun time. We sign up for the text pics and love seeing him having a blast. Great, clean, safe place for your pups to stay!
We can’t say enough about Pet Rendezvous; the staff are all pet oriented, energetic, outgoing and attentive. Our two Maltese stayed in daycare for a week and boarded a few nights while we were in the area while we were exploring in our Airstream travel trailer. They were always happy to go inside and see their friends., you can see it on Finn’s face in the attached pic! We used their grooming services for bathes and that was a good experience also! Thank you, Vickie and all the good folks at Pet Rendezvous.
My puppies love this place They do grooming nail trimming play with the dogs and even give a military discount I've been here three or four times so far and every time I pick up my dogs they are really happy and when I get home they fall asleep quickly because they're so tired from playing all day. Will continue to bring my puppies here for doggie daycare I think they offer packages as well.
Beyond grateful that take five offers cat boarding options. My kitty Bristle has epilepsy and needs her medication at the same times every 12 hours so it is hard to plan trips. I’m so happy I can bring her here where she’ll be taken care of and receive her medication. I also adore the photo updates!
Take Five was highly recommended to me as I searched for daycare/boarding for my 7 month old lab. This was a first for me and I was filled with emotions! First impressions are so important and the team at Take Five put me at ease the minute we walked through the door. They were all very welcoming and assured me that Rosie was in good hands! It was evident to me that Rosie had a blast as she slept comfortably on our ride home to Kittery! I am so glad Take Five was recommended and I will happily pass this onto others! Look no further…..Take Five is the place to go! Thank you again! 🩷🐾🩷
As an owner of an anxious guy, I was worried about trying a new place to board my Jackson. Due to limited availability over Thanksgiving his usual boarding place was booked and I decided to try Take Five in Lee based on their great reviews! When picking him up this morning I learned that he had a great stay and enjoyed playtime with the other dogs. Everyone there was very kind from check-in to check-out. You can tell this is a place that genuinely cares about animals and enjoys the work they do. Thank you all at Take Five for the work you do. It is very much appreciated!
This is the best doggy daycare around. I have two dogs that could not be more opposite. One is very outgoing and the other needed some time to warm up to both people and dogs due to her past. The staff here worked with her to slowly gain the confidence she needed. The staff always checks in when the pups are out to make sure they are okay. The facility is always clean, the staff is always wonderful and truly love their jobs which shows in their care for the animals. I recommend this place to everyone!
I really love the design of the boarding building putting the dogs in their own pen area when taking breaks. Their outdoor time playing with other dogs and walks. They will accomadate for your specific dog. Communication is great. I felt relieved that Take five was taking care of my dog. I highly recommend Take five!
We love Take Five! Our pup, Reese can’t get in the door quick enough! The staff treats her like she is their own. She comes home exhausted after a day at the daycare and we especially love the days when she goes to the spa to get pampered! We would recommend Take Five to anyone!
Absolutely wonderful place for our Golden Doodle. I would rate 6 stars if I could. Super friendly and positive staff, they take excellent care of Leo every time. We do a couple days a week of doggy daycare and Leo has the best day ever! Also very happy with the grooming services.
Take Five Dogcare is a unique place, that truly puts in extra time with all the animals that board with them. I highly recommend this place. They provide updates on your dogs while you’re away and are so pleasant to work with. My three love to visit:)
This was our dog’s first stay at Take Five. When we picked him up he seemed very happy and not at all stressed out. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful when we went to check the place out and during drop off and pick up. When unpacking his bag at home we were disappointed to see that none of his daily joint supplement or daily greenie were given to him despite us filling out directions online and including instructions taped to his bag.
This was our first time boarding, and we weren't sure how our shy, timid dog would do. But they took her right in and she was so happy. She was actually whining as we left! They even helped us out when our flights got canceled and needed an extra day. We will definitely bring Tesla back again and again. It's great to know we can take a trip and breathe a sigh of relief, knowing she's in good hands. Thanks everybody!
My cats and I absolutely love it here! The staff have never been anything but incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. Everyone there is so thoughtful in creating a calm atmosphere for all of the animals and I know my cats are happy and extremely well taken care of when staying there- Kris especially is always so kind and communicative; it’s obvious that it’s not just a job to her and that she really loves the animals in her care. I highly recommend Great Bay Kennel for anyone who wants peace of mind that your animals are in safe and loving hands when you’re at work or traveling.
Did not have a good experience with the groomers here! They asked me to drop off my dog between 9-10am which I did, but then when I called 4.5hrs later(!!) they hadn't even touched my dog yet. I should have immediately went and picked her up but they insisted they would get to her next. Seems like they finally took her out to pee after the call (no water, poor thing was so parched) and bathed her with a quick trim (nails weren't done). Then to top it off, charged me twice and still no refund weeks later. Please go to another place that has better schedule management skills (and refunds!) down, so your pup won't be traumatized.
Over the past 6 years we have been using Great Bay Kennel for our 4 dogs! We have done day boarding, grooming for both our Bulldog and Great Pyrenees, as well as weekend and overnight boarding. The excitement our pups get when I pull into the parking lot is like no other! They jump out of the car and forget I even exist. Everyone at Great Bay is phenomenal and I cannot recommend them enough! They are attentive, kind, and love these dogs like they are their own. They make sure they feel safe and give them SO much love. I never worry about leaving my pups with them because I know that they are in great hands! The facility is SPOTLESS. I have never seen a cleaner kennel. The staff are always making sure their food dishes and kennels are clean. The bedding they provide is always clean and my pups LOVE the beds. Also, don’t be worried about your pups getting cold because their floors are heated and the facility is always at the best temperature! The groomers at the Kennel our beyond wonderful. My bulldog has severe skin allergies and they take such great care of her! She hates baths at home, but absolutely loves them here. My Great Pyrenees enjoys rolling in the dirt and is an absolute fluff ball, but Great Bay does an incredible job getting her looking fresh again! They take their time to make sure that she looks perfect. I have not found another groomer that does a better job. We drive the hour to come to Great Bay because of the amazing work they do. I have NEVER been disappointed when I pick them up! I can’t say enough great things about the staff at the kennel. The manager Kris is attentive, kind and treats my pups like her own. She always keeps me updated throughout their stay if there are any issues. You can truly tell her and all the staff at the kennel care deeply about the animals. Kris never fails to greet us with open arms and all of the pups LOVE her. She always takes the time to hear about my pups special needs and answer any questions I have! She truly is incredible! All of the staff remember everything about our pups, provide them lots of love and take the best care of them. I always see them making sure they animals are comfortable and playing with them! They give my dogs their meds when needed, too! If you are worried about leaving your pups (or cats, small animals or other pets) at the kennel, DON’T BE. I have NEVER trusted another pet place before and I gaurentee you, you will not be disappointed with the services at Great Bay. You may only be disappointed that you didn’t try Great Bay sooner!
My dog - 2.75 year old yellow lab - loves it here!! He goes to daycare once or twice a week, sometimes three times and has been for about 5 months. The team at the daycare are amazing! He always has a good day and is tired after - can sleep for our whole hour long ride home! The photos they post are awesome and let me know what he's doing and that he's having a great time! I especially love seeing him photographed with another dog he knows - they love to hang out together whether at day care or other places.
First time ever we had to board our diabetic cat. I was nervous dropping her off but the staff really made sure she got her insulin shots on time and she seemed to absolutely love the place. We had issues getting her back into her carrier upon pickup because she didn't seem like she wanted to leave. Definitely will be using them in the future and was very happy with the staff.
Boarded our 3 dogs and 1 cat for almost a week twice in one month. Everything went as expected. The staff has been polite and courteous, plus gave me good info when I called for status updates. Two thumbs up!
I have been bringing my dog to GBK for a couple of years now for grooming and boarding and I have nothing but positive things to say. I am always welcomed by a smiling front desk worker and usually my dog loves when she sees Tam working. Michelle in grooming has always done a phenomenal job with my doodles haircuts as well. Also, how wonderful is it when you leave your pet and see a picture of them on the Facebook site playing outside with their friends. I would highly recommend Great Bay Kennel to anyone looking for quality care for their pet. Thanks for all you do!!
We have trusted our dogs with GB kennel in the past years; we don't mind the drive from Manchester, but this last time the experience was awful. We left our dogs for over a week, and only upon bringing them home we noticed that one had developed a very nasty skin infection. There was a lot of pus and skin was literally falling off of him. When we called asking for explanations, the person just said that they noticed the water bowl was being knocked over often, so we suspect the dogs were left sitting in a pool of water, which caused the infection. The dog with the infection spent all the time licking its wound (until we put a cone on him), so it is very hard to believe that no one noticed it. The infection took antibiotics, ointment, steroids and two weeks to heal; considering that the vet is the same compound, we could not believe that no one had the thought of asking his professional opinion, and left us dealing with it after we picked them up; the infection - and the dog's suffering - could have easily been treated by the vet promptly. The total for the stay was $895. After the fact and our calls asking explanations, the vet did offer to visit the dogs free of charge and offered the prescriptions. We were very disappointed with the lack of care on our dogs and the professionalism of the staff entrusted with their care.
Wonderful staff, very accommodating. I have a dog who doesn’t do well with others and they have been able to take care of her still and it has been wonderful to have that peace of mind when I need to leave town!
Alison is very good with Charlie. He is an anxious boy when it comes to grooming and having his nails trimmed.
I dropped my puppy to be groomed for the first time. Teri was recommended to me, and I was not disappointed. The first thing was that you could not bring your dog in without texting them first to let them know you were there. I appreciated that they were concerned about the animals mixing being close together at the entrance. Teri came out and went over what I wanted and also recommended additional input that I didn't think of but was great. When he was done he looked awesome. She was able to do everything and he seemed very happy when I picked him up. I totally recommend her and I will continue to use them in the future. Great job Teri.
Love this place and so don't my two dogs. they know the drive to the barn... they know the routine and just can't wait to jump right out of the car... that tells you all you need to know. but there is so much more..... the staff is great! They work hard to know the dogs and they can be so helpful when answering questions. I love that they will take my husky inside when he is too hot... that is awesome. the little husky we have is a rescue and he is timid sometimes, but here... he is Mr. fancy pants and runs around like he owns the place. Folks... you won't find better professional people to take care of your dogs. we have tried 2 other places, and no one comes close. My boys love their school!! Can't ask for more than that... and the last side benefit is they sleep like babies when they get home... pass right out. That is just another way you know they love the Yellow dog Barn! Also love the website and the facebook photos!!
Maverick has been with The Yellow Dog’s Barn for almost 4 years now. He is excited every time he goes. scheduling his daycare online is amazing, quick, and easy. The staff there is out of this world and when Maverick was having an hard time adjusting or needed time away from the big group, Yellow Dog’s Barn was able to put him in a special group. They do pictures on holidays which I cherish. I wouldn’t trust anyone else more with my Maverick.
My dog, D, can be difficult with new people and certainly is with other dogs. The staff at Yellow Dog are so patient and kind with her. I 100% trust them and do not worry after dropping her off at daycare. D is in the Squirrel Group because of her personality and we absolutely love that Yellow Dog has a program like this. My partner and I are so thankful we have a place to take D. I’m also thankful that anytime we have a question or concern, the staff are so quick to help. They’re knowledgeable on dog behavior and have a great set up! We also take advantage of their grooming services on daycare days. We are so grateful to Kristin and her patience level. After a grooming session, D looks and smells like a million bucks! Overall, Yellow Dog is an amazing place and we highly recommend it to anyone in need of daycare and grooming services for their pups. Thank you Yellow Dog for taking such great care of our fur baby!
Autumn is tough to groom. She was matted and She doesn’t enjoy being groomed one bit. Kristen was patient and gave Autumn breaks as needed. She came out looking great!! Thank you!
So happy to write a review for the Yellow Dog’s Barn! They have exceeded any expectations we had for a day care for our dog Franklin. He LOVES going to “school” and some days is reluctant to leave at the end of the day! The staff have all been so welcoming, friendly and supportive. They obviously love what the do and we are so grateful that Franklin benefits from that. We love the photos they share everyday, the enrichment programs and daily reports. If you are looking for a high quality program for your fur baby, this is the place!!
We love the Yellow Dog's Barn! I bring one of my dogs for regular grooming, and she always comes home looking great. Our more energetic pup goes for daycare on days that nobody will be home during the day, and he loves it. The staff are kind to both the dogs and to us humans, and it's so easy to book our daycare schedule. Our dog (Cheeto) had his picture taken for Independence Day and we love it.
I cannot say enough positive things about this place. This is now my second dog who I sent here. My first dog went for 10 years and my current dog has been going for 2 years. Both receive the best care while there. Not only do they actively interact with and play with the pups, they offer grooming services which can be done during the day as well. The staff are phenomenal, they all take a very caring approach to the dogs, letting you know right away when something seems off or when something fun happens (such as the cute photo shoots they do - see attached pic). I also love that they post hundreds of daily photos online so you can see the fun your dog is having while there! My dog is one of the most important creatures in my life - I trust the Yellow Dogs Barn wholeheartedly to provide her the safest and most enriching day!
We love the Yellow Dog’s Barn! Our dog Rosie is always so excited when we pull into the parking lot for drop off! She is exhausted when she comes home so I know she had a great day playing with all of her friends! The staff is always so friendly and provides updates about her day. I also love seeing all the pictures they post on their Facebook page, it’s nice to see what our girl is up to during the day!
My golden retriever puppy LOVES going here! The whole staff is amazing with the dogs and they do fun things to keep the pups stimulated and enriched. It is such a wonderful feeling to see how excited he is every morning for drop off. I also know from years ago with my black lab, that Terry is an excellent groomer and does a terrific job. I highly recommend the YDB!
Brought my young Aussi pup there for his first grooming. I explained that I wanted him to be given a bath, cut and brush out. I particularly asked them to trim the long hair around his feet and toes. When I picked him up, he really didn't look much different than when I had dropped him off. The foot trimming didn't happen because they said that he was nervous and wouldn't let them touch his feet. I brought him there because they're supposed to be the "professionals" and figured they had dealt with a puppy's first groom before. After still being charged full price for the "grooming", I left quite disappointed. I brought him home and after two minutes of gently introducing him to the vibration of a trimmer, he was calm and very cooperative. I ended up easily trimming his feet myself. I won't be bringing him back there.
After reading reviews, I was hopeful that I had found a great spot to groom my puppy. We will never be returning. Upon arrival, a woman came out, asked who we were, said “oh I see,” and went to grab his leash and whoosh him into the back. I stopped and told her it was his first time for a full groom and stressed that all I wanted was for it to be a positive experience and that if it stopped being so, to call at any point and I would come pick him up (and would of course pay for the full groom). She handed me an info card and told me to fill it out and leave it on the counter. Did not even ask what I wanted done in terms of grooming. My puppy is extremely confident and has done well experiencing all sorts of new things. When I picked him up he crawled over to me, peed all over himself, and was not his happy confident self. I was told how nervous he was and that he was freaking out about the grooming rope around his neck. He has been nervous of new people since being there (which has never been a trait of his). I have worked in a grooming and boarding facility, and this is not one I would recommend based on our experience.
Do not ever bring your dog here!! We have a new puppy, 6 months old and brought him for just a bath and trim hair ONLY on the privates. The girl, McKenzi , went on about how she loved his coat, and I told her over and over again not to cut. My wife had been grooming him but recently broke her wrist so we needed help. He was brushed out daily so there was no matting at all. He is a beautiful Cavapoo and looks (looked) like a Teddy Bear. The only thing I asked was “to just cut a little around his eyes so he can see, just a couple hairs”. She shaved his nose down to the skin! He looks ridiculous!!!! I’ve NEVER seen this ever. It is barely starting to grow out and it’s been 2 months!
I've been going to Kim since she first opened. She has been great with any size dog I have brought in to be groomed. Fabulous facility, too.
They took great care of our five month old puppy when we had to go away for the night. Super nice ladies working there! Maple seemed to enjoy herself and seemed to get plenty of attention. Very fair price for the boarding and we will definitely be bringing her back.
Great staff, and handled our large german shepherd very well. Our big boy is scared to get his nails clipped, and they did a good job in less than 15 minutes. Will definitely have them do his nails for now on. Good prices, staff, and quality care.
Great place to board your dog! They gave my golden One on one attention and I could tell the person really cared. She even sent me pics of my dog which I really appreciated! The kennels were also clean and the place is not extremely large so it’s not as intimidating.
Kim & her staff were just awesome w/our 8 yo lab! They were friendly, informative and even gave me a heads up re: the busy summer schedule. I was able to pre-book our pup’s next appt. We’re looking forward to going back!
I absolutely love Kim. She was great when I left my 2 big dogs since one has never left my side for 7 years and the Shepard/hound is 5 1/2 m old is a big baby. It was hard for me so she said they will be taken care of which they were greatly. Kim told me straight up how they were when I called everyday sometimes twice a day. Lol thank you doggie designs.. oh n they will be coming back for any of my needs..
Our dogs always come back perfect! Couldn't recommend Doggie Designs more. She is extremely professional yet personal with each dog. We had an extremely difficult dog with anxiety and she still took him and did a fabolous job in making sure he was comfortable during his grooming experience!
I had my beautiful Standard Poodle Zinc groomed here and was above and beyond happy with Morgan’s expertise. the whole atmosphere was calming and quiet and he had space to relax and chill. I’m thrilled that I found my groomer here-thank you, Morgan! 🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼🐩🐾🐩 …
My dogs have been going here for years. Reasonable prices and staff that truly love their job taking care of the dogs. Amy, the owner is busy creating a rainbow bridge for her clients furbabies have passed. Birthdays are free!
Cant say enough good things about Amy and her team. They are fantastic and our dog enjoys his day care and boarding here. He used to come with his sister who he was very strongly bonded to but when she passed he didn't like being separated from us. Continuing to come here after she passed definitely helped with that. We love the daily the pictures that they put up on their facebook group and really appreciate the hard work that everyone puts in to make sure the dogs have a good time. Thank You Dogs Tale!
Highly recommend A Dog's Tale LLC. By far this has been the best grooming facility we have brought our dog to. Our dog gets very anxious when taken the the groomers, but the moment I walked in I felt at ease. Every one I came across with was friendly, knowledgeable, and most important I can tell how much they love and care for the dogs. Our dog gets matted very easily & they were so patient and loving with him. I will also add that grooming was done in a timely matter and prices a very reasonable. I can't be more happy with the service provided. Royal & I are very grateful. I picked up one very happy and handsome dog today thanks to A Dog's Tale LLC. 😊
My first time here.Brought my golden retriever Bo here. He came out looking so amazing ❤️ Everyone was so nice to deal with, very welcoming. Morgan was our groomer and took the time to talk to us about the different ways to trim him and the results were better then I hoped. Will definitely be bringing him back. Definitely recommend
Awesome place and the owners are awesome as well paid a visit to see my future boy and he comes home with us on Monday nice place to find that fury friend and daycare to bring them
Wonderful place, people, and care for our dogs. But the best review may be from another dog who did not want to leave. I watched her owner try to get her into the car and the dog did everything it could to stay. This is a happy place!
Our dog is 12 and has been going here for daycare (3-4 days a week) and boarding since she was 7 months old. It is her home away from home. She loves being there and we have total peace of mind that she is being well cared for during daycare and when we are out of town on vacations. The owner Amy does so much for animals in general, raising money for the SPCA. Her love of dogs really shows in her approach and in the staff she hires and trains. I’ve recommenced a Dog’s Tale to several friends and they’ve all had the same experience. Great place.
Best doggy daycare and boarding facility in the Southern Maine area if you ask me! Having been a previous employee here for the last 2 years, I can reassure you that your fur babies are treated with the best quality care we can give them! Not only do we have 3 giant yards outside and 2 playrooms inside, but your dogs are allowed to play and run like the wind in these areas at all time, if the weather allows, of course. Looking for a cheap, clean and amazing place for your dog to come play and spend the night? A Dog's Tale is the place to take them!
Excellent grooming of our squirmy old lady cockerpoo. She came home beautiful, clean, and not stressed, with no nicks or cuts. Definitely recommend.
