Susan from Pet Gal Kona took wonderful care of my multiple cat household. Her visits were on time and very thorough and she provided detailed reports about each visit and each kitty. I highly recommend her and will be using Pet Gal services in the future for all my pet sitting needs.

We had not used a dog walker before so we didn't know what to expect. Turns out it was a wonderful decision! Susan was exceptional! And our dog absolutely adored her. In fact, she would wait on the couch for her to come and they became best buds. Highly recommend!

Danielle was a terrific cat sitter! She communicated with us daily and provided pictures of our cat; as well as the water fountain level, cleaned cat litter, wet food set on the feeding station, and the dry food dispenser. She also cleaned everything up and retrieved our mail. I am extremely happy with the service she provided and will definitely be using her/Pet Gal in the future.

Pet Gal, especially Danielle, was fantastic! Danielle was able to get my shy little Lucy to come out of her shell. The reports and pictures made it much easier to be away, knowing she was in good hands. I will only use Pet Gal in the future.

I recently went on a mother/daughter trip. My husband cannot physically walk our Whippet/Border Collie mix, Thalia, so while I was gone she started misbehaving. I was desperate because she was taking her own walks and sneaking into the neighbors yard. Yikes! I knew she needed her walks and I contacted “The Pet Gal Kona” to see if they could help me. Mind you, I was not home, traveling on the Mainland but was able to easily contact them via their website. Wow, I got a response immediately! Susan was quickly set up the next day for a meet and greet. My Thalia is a bit on the shy side but Susan won her over on their daily walks. She gave me a follow up of their walks everyday. Wonderful that they show they care about us dog mamas ❤️ It was such a success that I will continue to use them. Mahalos to the team at The Pet Gal Kona!

Susan was kind enough to open our home for a day long drop off of our very elderly Peanut. Susan is very experienced and tremendously companionate. She sent us several updates through out the day (including videos) and we felt our Peanut was in the perfect hands. We have already booked Peanut for another stay this week. I have been using The Pet Gal weekly for 3 months now, and I can absolutely vouch for their service. My main walker is Bre and she is just fantastic! I think my dog loves her walks with Bre more than with me. Bre gives her enough exercise and then reinforces my dog's training with healthy treats. I live the app they use to track what is going on during the walk and to add commentary and photos from the walk. It is very comforting to know that my dog is getting what she needs in my absence and that she enjoys it.

Super easy to get started and they have really efficient booking processes. Was able to book just a couple days before I went out of town. They fed my cat everyday, scooped his litter, cleaned any messes and really cared about my little guy, and the process was so easy. Will be using this service for all my future travel.

Bruce was an unbelievable dog sitter! Wow did he take incredible care of our pug Roxy while we had to be off island for 10 days! She was loved, sat on his couch, had sit in the sun time in their beautiful backyard, and he even sent daily text updates! Bruce and his family went out of their way to settle our skittish dog Amber. After 2 days she settled in and had a good time both indoors and outdoors with the other dogs. After 8 days together Amber will be happy to go back the next time and Bruce will be happy to have her.

We can’t recommend Kona Dog Care enough. This was out first big trip since our pups joined our family, and we were very, very nervous about leaving them. We are so thankful to Bruce, Tata and Harry for the love and care they showered on Kea and Mea. We received almost daily updates, with pictures, which gave us peace of mind, and allowed us to have an amazing trip. Bruce has such a kind, gentle nature, and really helped Kea and Mea feel settled. Bruce and Kona Dog Care watched our dogs during Memorial day Weekend. They worked with us on food and eating schedule. We made sure that food was labeled with clear instructions. Bruce was so kind to ask about their personalities and habits. Bruce's son supplied lots of extra attention to our youngest dog. They limit the number of dogs allowed so each dog is well cared for. They have a fenced area for play and doing their business. We appreciated the daily notes and photos, making our trip less worrisome. We texted them as we left the airport to head to their home. Both dogs were leashed and ready to go when we got there. I feel like we have found treasure with this family. I made new travel plans the next morning. Finding an honest, kind, generous family that loved my dogs is such a blessing. I highly recommend them for your smaller dogs.

We are very pleased with the care of our pet provided by Kona Dog Care. It is very difficult to find someone you can trust and care for your pet. We had a great boarding kennel that we intrusted for over thirty years until they retired. So finding a boarding for our pet was a important process. We had a site visit and was very satisfied with the home that only took in small dogs that had other dogs with a outdoor run. It was a home type environment with no cages to house the pet. Bruce was very accommodating with food and feeding. Daily photos and comments on how our pet was getting along with the other dogs was sent to us on our 17 day trip. Our pet did very well and adjusted back at home upon his return.

Thinking about leaving home for our first trip to the Mainland since becoming dog parents was stressful for us. We searched for a place where our baby could be in a family environment where he would receive individualized attention from loving humans and no regimented schedule or long periods alone. More importantly, we wanted to make sure that his Canine Good Citizen training would be reinforced. Finding Bruce and TaTa was a blessing. Pete, our 18 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, had a great time interacting with the other dogs. Daily updates and photos kept us from worrying about him. Thank you Bruce and TaTa.

Tiphany was fantastic. She provided lots of feedback daily and took the cutest photos and we really felt good that someone was watching our for babies. She was really excellent and we really appreciate her. She did a great job I would recommend Hailii to anyone interested in going away and not knowing what would happen to their cats dogs etc. in fact I’m looking at scheduling another couple of days after the beginning of the year. We have been using Shelley for almost 2 1/2 years now on a weekly basis to let our dogs out during the day while we are working and for overnights when we are on vacation. She is wonderful with our dogs and with us! She always lets us know how things are going. She was pet sitting our dogs during a brush fire last year that came close to the village and we were off island, and she had everything under control in case they needed to evacuate. She's marvelous! Now we always check to see if she's available BEFORE we make our vacation plans. I can't recommend her enough. Happy dog mom and happy dogs.🐾

We have had months of great experiences with Noreen and Bre! Noreen has been our main dog walker and Bre the backup so we know they will always show up. Noreen sends us great pics and shares the story of her visit, we love getting updates while we are at work. We highly recommend using this service for your fur babies

This was our first time using this service for our cats since moving to the Big Island. We received a text when the sitter arrived and a summary of the visit along with photos of our cats while they were playing with the sitter. We are now confident we can use this service for future visits and longer travel plans we have going forward, knowing our pets will be well looked after.

Shelley is amazing! We lost our 12 year old Rhodesian just before leaving for the mainland to see family. We knew we were leaving our other boy in good hands even though he missed his brother terribly. Shelley kept him close, made sure he ate and by weeks end he was playing again. Wainoloa pet sitting is a great company to do pleasure with. They took care of my 2 dogs while I was on the mainland , they send pictures of the dogs and give updates on them too . I'd recommend them to look after your pets!

Amazing business, it's clear everyone goes through extensive training. You get to meet the owner before your pet is approved to come here to make sure it's a good fit. We are so pleased to see how happy our gal is when we drop her off. Professional and polite service, and very well kept facilities. Their system is so organized as everyone else mentions. We are completely at ease having our dog at Paws whether it's a day or weeks!

I am a registered nurse and this facility is super friendly helpful and extremely patient as my client was disabled and had service dog beyond just training classes they do boarding day care I know from picking up the owners dog their outdoor setting is cooler than most ideal close to airport convenient and most importantly fun ! it just takes a moment to be kind.

New customer of Paws University. My pup seems to enjoy her time there but I am dissatisfied with a charge they added to my bill. It's not about the $35. It is the principal. A boarding pick up at 12pm (for those who are new) will be charged an extra $35. When I reserved the boarding in person, I informed the person that I'll be dropping off my pup at 3pm and picking her up next day at 3pm. I was not informed that there's an extra charge of $35 for post 12pm pick up. There wasn't an email reminder regarding pick up and drop off time. It's not stated clearly on their FAQ or website. But, when called, the manager said that it is on the boarding contract and on their site, way at the bottom of the page. While I do not mind the $35, this in principal is uncool.

I haven't boarded my dogs here yet but I will say, 5 stars all around for communication. I had filled out the application in 1 day and they got back to me instantly as well as setting up an eval quickly. Because of unforseen circumstances, I ended up having to cancel and AGAIN, they got back to me the same day. I appreciate this as communication is important so people can work other things out. Looking forward to doing business with PAWS in the future.

The Paws team and facility are exceptional! My work requires travel to the mainland monthly and our GS, Kila, always looks forward to seeing the employees and other dogs each time we arrive. I couldn't do my job without Paws and the terrific staff. Brett K

Recently moved to island and needed groomer who not only does good work but is good with my older (age 14) dogs. Really happy with Nancy who has years of experience. The setting is great and my dogs seemed really happy. It's great to have found a really good groomer!

I’ve taken my dachshund to several different groomers here in Kona and Paws University is by far the best. They have many different services. We’ve never done the day care but the two groomers Colleen & Nancy are amazing.They obviously care a great deal about their job and adore all the pups that come in to be serviced. It’s a wonderful establishment!

Our Shepinois pup Koda loves going to Paws! He has enjoyed daycare and boarding. The staff are super friendly as well.

I have been a client of Kamuela Pet Care for 14 years and Lisa has always been a safe and trusted pet sitter. My dog Mochi loved staying there it was a second home to him. He was so excited to be dropped off there he would run into the house like a bullet and not look back. We have a new puppy now and plan to take our dog there when we travel again. Very safe.

Lisa at Kamuela Pet care is an absolute gem. She truly cares for all of her guest pets as her own. My dog has been visiting her for years and gets so excited every time we turn down her street.. he is ready to jump out of the car! As soon as my car door opens he runs to her front door and starts barking in excitement until she opens the door. The second the door opens he runs inside and starts playing with her other dogs! We don't have to worry one bit when he is with her. I don't know what we would do without her. We travel a ton for work and vacations which we would not be able to do without her!! Our boy is well fed.. we always bring his food and he gets to eat with the rest of the “pack”. We bring his bed for him to sleep in although sometimes I think he sneaks into bed with her and he husband who is also just amazing with the dogs! Our boy gets plenty of love and attention at his Auntie Lisas and when we pick him up he is sad to leave and all worn out from so much play time! Its a dream!! 🐶🐶

Lisa and her family have been dedicated sitters to my fur baby (which cane before my human baby) for years. Being my first (kid) it was imperative I felt I could trust Lisa and never once have I had an issue. Lisa's kind, loving, inclusive pack is an ideal setting for my little darlings, and I have never considered an alternate sitter. Lisa hasn't ever turned my request for service down and i always know my babies will be well fed, safe, and cozy. Kudos to Lisa and her entire family!!!!

Our pet sitter moved to the mainland after 10 years, and we were very concerned to find someone who could give our 11 year old French Bulldog the care she needs as a senior dog. We were thrilled to find Lisa and Kamuela Pet Care. Lisa is very focused on the dogs' needs and comfort and our RuthAnne was as happy and healthy as ever after her first stay with Lisa. We would not trust anyone else with Annie than Lisa. I love that she cares for smaller dogs and has them indoors at night. My Annie is timid and not much of a socializer. Lisa picked up on that right away and takes extra care. Her yard is nicely landscaped and well gated allowing dogs to explore, play and do their business. Lisa will text photos to you by request which for us is every time we she sits for us. We are so glad we found Lisa for Annie.

Great place to leave my dogs when going away. Have dropped them there a few times. Dogs are treated better there than at home😂 Received some pics of my 2 girls sleeping on the furniture there! They don’t even get to do that at home. Highly recommended. 2 🐾 up! …

My dog had an awful experience here. I have never experienced such negligence leaving her anywhere. One of their excuses was that she is old but she lost 15 pounds over about five days and had poop on her butt when she was picked up. Never did I receive a phone call or text about her having diarrhea or not eating. She was shaking the whole way home when my sister picked her up and when I got her from my sister she wasn’t excited to see me. She was scared and thought she was in trouble which is very out of character and has never happened before with my high-energy and happy pup. Although I did get several follow-calls, their good standing doesn’t matter to me when the care could have been there all along. I’m very disappointed and she’s still recovering a few weeks later to gain her weight back. Do not bring your dog here or especially an older dog that cannot afford to have these experiences! They are not attuned to animals even though they’re probably nice people.

My dog's were full of life when I picked them up. Communication with the owners were easy and the area for them to run was awesome. Mahalo to Jim, and his team.

This is Buddy and Bailey third time to stay at Lucky D kennels. I am grateful there is such a place here in Kona to take your dogs. They don't have to be with a bunch of other dogs they have their own huge fence area to be with each other. My dog buddy isn't the most social dog so it is great that he doesn't have to be put with lots of other dogs. Jim, Megan and Dawn are great with my family - they are open to anything you might ask. I microwave chicken to add to the dog food and so does lucky D - if you ask them too...

My dogs LOVE Lucky D! All I have to say is "Wanna go to Lucky D?" and they get all excited! The private yards are plenty of space for them to run around and cruise. They have the company of other dogs, without the chance encounter of an agressive dog. Jim and Marie are the BEST! Your animals are your family, so when I'm away I know they are safe and having a ball! Mahalo for taking such great care of the Ladies!

They were a life saver when we needed a place for our dogs to stay in October 2022. I initially talked to the owner and he was very professional and friendly. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs in his care. Check in was good (rest of staff was just as friendly) and the facilities clean. When I picked my dogs up, they seemed well cared for. Thanks Lucky D!

My poor puppy stayed for one night. I got a call an hour before pick up time asking if she came with a limp and when I said no the owner had lots of excuses as to why she was limping but no actual explanation. 7/27 update still no contact with owner

I've taken my dogs to Lucky D Kennels for years now. It's the only boarding facility I trust with my dogs while I'm away. The property and kennels are pristine. The experienced staff are absolutely wonderful and very friendly. They treat my dogs like family. My dogs recognize the staff and get excited to see them every time! I couldn't be any happier with their care and customer service. I highly recommend them!

This is my go to, local, dog boarding spot whenever I have to travel -- from 2 days to 2 weeks. All of the staff is incredibly kind, accommodating and helpful! They're also amazing with the dogs. My dog is 10yo rescue with some anxiety and behavioral challenges and they've always said he's just great and does so well here. I would gladly trust them with my dog or any future pets.

Best grooming services ever!! Holly is fabulous! Cheeto was so calm and happy not to mention handsome! Highly recommended!

Ohana Animal Inn is such a sweet & loving place to leave our sweet baby girl. She loves it so much that she practically jumps our of the car before we park! She loves hugs from Chris the owner & Francis her caregiver. When we pick her up she is bathed along with her bedding. She loves to play with Oreo, Chris's dog too. We enjoy ourselves away knowing she is well cared for & loved. We recommend them hands down for superb care of your fur baby while you are away!

Our two boys love staying here where Chris and his staff is very friendly. They get to stay outside and play during the day and that's exactly what they love doing. They seem well cared for when we pick them up.

I recently picked up my dog from there and he had an injury to his foot and looked very thin. Could of been to his longer than usual stay but when he boarded in Kahului he was fine when we got him back. They didn't say anything about him when I picked him up. He acts and seems normal otherwise.

If I could give Laurel more stars, I'd give her 100!! My husband and I purchased our first German Shepherd puppy from this breeder. We were nervous to make such a big financial commitment to a breeder (or puppies from a breeder) we've never personally met. However, after 30 minutes of thorough details about the puppies she produces and the quality of their pedigree, there was an unexplainable peace that I felt after our conversation that prompted me to submit our deposit to hold our place in line. The most difficult part was the wait. We waited almost a year to finally have our precious puppy in our hands. THE WAIT IS WORTH IT. Our puppy was shipped from the Big Island to Oahu (crate and cargo fees an extra fee) and it was a smooth process to pick her up. Laurel (and her team? I assume there's a team. unless she's super woman, which honestly is very believable after learning how amazing she is at breeding these puppies) began crate training the puppies prior to going to their new homes. Our puppy, Cinnamon, was crate trained for 3 hours. Of course the first night was tough because she was acclimating to a new environment, but the subsequent nights were peaceful and quiet as she laid in her kennel through the night. Fast forward to today, Cinnamon is now a little over 4 months old and she is our super star. We enrolled her in puppy training classes at Petco. She already knew more than half of the commands they were teaching, but we wanted her to get training with distractions as well as the socialization aspect. We quickly learned that: 1, she was intelligent beyond her years, and 2, she played the best with all of the dogs. This includes both timid, and rough/bold puppies. She knew how to turn on and off the "calm". Our 6 year old Beagle/Chihuahua/Terrier mix, Pepper, has gotten moodier in the last 2 years. She does not like energetic puppies getting into her face all the time and has been known to "snap" at other dogs if they get too close (big or small). Cinnamon has been toughing things out and continues to pursue Pepper's heart, but with tenderness and patience. Today was a BIG leap in their relationship as we found them laying in the same kennel sleeping. (They did this all on their own!) Cinnamon has adapted around her and quickly became the "gentle giant." PLEASE keep in mind, we put a lot of time, energy, and resources into training Cinnamon. German Shepherds, although extremely intelligent, require a lot of time, discipline, and rewarding because without a good dog parent, you get uncontrollable children. And GSD are smart. They will learn how to "get around you," if you let them. I'm not just saying all of this to brag about our good girl (even though yes, she is the BEST in our eyes), but also to show that she was bred with extreme care and attention to detail. She makes both a great companion and protector. She is bold, but not aggressive. She is gentle, but not shy. If you are looking for the perfectly balanced German Shepherd Dog, look no further. Alpha K9 Kennels is your last stop (and should be only stop) for a reputable, responsible, and well-educated German Shepherd breeder.

I have kenneled my beloved boxer twice with Alpha K-9 Kennels. Love the staff and the owner . They love their job and take extremely good care of my baby when I am on vacation. I can always rest assured that she will be well taken care of and love while I am away. They also set my pictures and videos of her being walked and played with. Her last stay she had medicine that need to be applied twice daily and tat was taken care of as well . Thank you very much AlphaK-9 kennels,we will definitely be returning ❤️

I’m so happy Laurel was able to fit us in. She answered every phone call and every question we had. We got updates every so often of tippi which helped to ease the stress of leaving our lil baby while we were gone. I recommend alpha k-9 if you’re on the fence.

We boarded our little terrier for 6 nights. Beautiful grounds and peaceful location. We brought her travel kennel so she had a cozy den and favorite toys. The put it in the kennel on a raised pad. The kennel is safe and secure. Each dog has its own large kennel with a cement wall divider. They sent me a video and she looked so happy on her walk. Laurel and staff are so friendly and kind. I felt safe leaving my fur baby with them!

Earlier this year we lost our 13 years old Shepherd. After several months of an empty home, we decided to start our search for a new fur baby. This is when we discovered Alpha K-9 Kennels. Laurel was empathetic to our recent loss and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us through the process of getting our new fur baby. I started the journey to get Nui (a German Shepherd Puppy) from these amazing group of people back in June or July. They are on the Big Island but can ship anywhere, and they keep in touch with you every step of the way. I was having payment issues due to the pandemic and Laurel was sure to work with me on that, and I really appreciated that. The delivery process was so smooth, she ensured that I was notified when she shipped the puppy, and ensured that I got all the information I needed to pick him up. Any questions that’s I asked she was sure to get back with me at her earliest convenience (within the hour) and ensured that everything went smooth. I still ask her for tips on the puppy but all I can say is thank you, I would recommend this breeder to anyone!

We were warmly and pleasantly welcomed by the owner, Laurel, who is very knowledgeable in her animal breeds. We boarded two pets, a dog🐕‍🦺 and a cat 🐈‍⬛ for 7-days. She followed-up with text photos as they settled in their own kennel spaces. We're happy that she was readily available to accomodate our short-planned travel and grateful she is reasonable priced. Will we use her services again in the future? Absolutely!!! Mahalo...🌺🤙🏽

Our boy Leo attended the 14 day board and basic training at Alpha K-9 Kennels. We are so pleased with everything he's learned and the quality of care they provided. Laurel was so nice to communicate with and Eric, Amber, and Storm are fabulous trainers! Would definitely recommend their beautiful estate for boarding and/or training. THANK YOU!

Alpha K-9 Kennels is by far the best that i have experienced. They always take such good care of my german shepherd when I travel. i don't know what i would do without them.

Everyone at Pau Hana Pet Resort was wonderful! We had our puppy Rome in Doggy Daycare And he always came back happy and full of news what he did that day! They sent lots of pictures daily and kept me posted and how he was doing, will be using them from now on for our pets care!

Pau Hana has taken care of my four dogs many times and have done an outstanding job! I have a couple of dogs that are high energy, escape artists, and demanding. Pau Hana never ceases to amaze me at the hard work they put in to keep my pups excercised and well tended to. I have an immense amount of trust in Pau Hana because they deserve it and have earned that trust. Highly recommend.

Our American Bulldog Kobe for the first time stayed at a public sitter. We chose Pau Hana Pet Resort and we couldn't be more happy we chose them. We were able to enjoy our trip with no worries the staff took pictures assuring us our furry baby was doing okay. Kobe came home very happy and clean he got a nice fresh bath. We had the best experience at Pau Hana pet! Our dogs are not the easiest or smallest buddies to care for. Pau Hana pet worked with my family & dog’s personalities to ensure they felt loved & most importantly safe while we we on a two weeks vacation. I am sooo thankful for there support and business. We had peace of mind the entire trip with updates throughout the week. Highly recommended!!

My large dogs have been coming here for years, and Max and Mya have always taken the best care of them. They always send pictures of my happy pups while I'm gone. Canʻt thank them enough for the piece of mind knowing the dogs are in good hands.

Pau Hana is an awesome dog kennel. We always board our dog here when we travel off island because they screen all doggie guests for behavior. Our girl comes back calm and in very healthy shape. We enjoy the pictures that PH sends us of our dog during the trip too! Highly recommend!

This is Bindi’s second stay at Pau Hana and I’m so pleased she has a safe and comfortable place to stay when we go off island. When she comes home, she is calm and not clingy, which tells me she felt comfortable. She also smells nice from her exit bath. I appreciate the update photos every few days so I can see her playing with the other dogs. I also really like that the owners live on site. It gives me the peace of mind of knowing they would be aware if something happened during the night.

The staff is caring and attentive, providing personalized care and regular updates. The range of amenities, including grooming and on-site veterinary care, is impressive. I have been bringing my dog, June, to Kona Doggie Daycare and Spa for the past year for both daycare and boarding, and Donna is GREAT!! June has fun with her dog buddies while she is there, and we are sooo thankful for the air-conditioned setting since Kailua-Kona can get sooo hot in the day!! Donna is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and their physical, behavioral and medical needs, and she has identified areas on my dog that needed further testing/follow-up by my vet so VERY THANKFUL for that!! June LOVES her time with Donna and her buddies at Kona Doggie Daycare and Spa!!!

Donna has been watching my dog Louie for over a year and a half, and even though he is old and has some health issues, she has no problem taking him in. He gets to socialize with other dogs (really important for him as we live alone), and she always makes sure he has/takes his medication. If I could give 6 stars I would.

It was such a relief to have found them at the last minute, however, we won’t use them again. The facility seemed to be very unsanitary and smelled really bad. Most of our dogs were dirtier when we picked them up than when they were dropped off and I’m sorry but when I pay for a service, I don’t expect a business to tell me they did me a favor and now I need to do them a favor!

Wasn't thrilled to leave my dog after meeting the "sitter" but had no other choice as the hotel i was staying in didn't allow animals. Got my dog back with a few bumps more and he drank a huge bowl of water like he hadn't had any in quite a while. He was also skittish. I don't know what happened BUT I won't use this doggy "daycare" again.

!!DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE!! Like mentioned in previous reviews I feel pretty strongly that there is some kind of mistreatment going on here.
