Purrfectly Peaceful is fantastic. My first interactions with Kevin for booking were very friendly, professional, and prompt. When I dropped off my 16 year old elder kitties, I met with Amy. We had such a nice chat as we waited for my girls to acclimate. The boarding room is gorgeous - homey, immaculate, and spacious. These folks genuinely care about cats, and I love that Amy kept in touch throughout their stay and sent me photos and updates on how they were doing. As older cats, they have some extra needs - Kevin and Amy went above and beyond to ensure their comfort, safety, and happiness. Not to mention, their services are incredibly affordable and topnotch quality which brings me such peace of mind as a graduate student trying to make ends meet. I am eternally grateful that I found Purrfectly Peaceful Cat Boarding, and will be going back for the next time my kitties need a place to stay! There's no place like home, but Kevin and Amy's kitty accommodations are the closest you can get!!

Purrfectly Peaceful is a perfect cat boarding facility. They provide personal love and care to their boarding cats and treat them as their own during the time they are guests. The daily prices are very reasonable. Amy and Kevin are the owners and are very personable and organized. This was the first time we were going to leave our 13 year old cat, Rusty, alone while away on vacation, and decided to try boarding him. After meeting with both owners and seeing their custom facility which is attached to their home, I was quite comfortable leaving Rusty with Purrfectly Peaceful. He was in good hands. He spent seven days there. He was fed well and treated with love while we were gone. I would definitely use their services again.

I cannot say enough about Purrfectly Peaceful! My cat is very timid and this was her first time boarding anywhere. The owners were extremely caring and accommodating. The room is adorable, very neat, clean and well taken care of!

Great service. Very clean, pleasant smelling facility. The owners have always been flexible and tolerant of my (at times) last minute or unsure scheduling. They are also just very nice, good folks to deal with.

Buxters recently took care of our two kitties (Pumpkin and Lola). Auntie Jay was amazing!!!! She followed all care instructions and even spent extra time with them each day to play. She also sent updates and photos every day. We can’t wait to use her again in the future.

Five stars for Buxter's Paw on all counts! Aunty Jay visited the house ahead of time and was totally prepared and professional with all plans and paperwork. Shy cat walked right up and made friends. While I was away, she sent daily pix and updates. She had both cats (who usually would be under the bed) out and interacting -- miraculous! When I returned, kitties were happy, and everything was neat as a pin. Aunty Jay even washed the food bowls for me, which was above and beyond. Excellent communication about the schedule. Most important: animals trust her. I recommend without reservation!

My ring neck parakeet, Kia, had a delightful time and even learned to say ‘peekaboo’ within two weeks! Amazing service! Cared for our cat like it was her own. Very knowledgeable about everything! Vets had gave us an antibiotic for him for the scratching she knew what it was and told us he didn’t need it. And sure enough the rash went away.

I have been using her services now for several years. And in my 40 years of pet ownership I have never found anyone more trustworthy or reliable. She has watched my pets for weeks on end, at my home or at hers. She has been their walker. She has taken them to vet appointments. She was even there with me when one of them passed. I could not recommend her more highly.

Aunty Jay did a great job taking care of my free roam rabbit. She was extremely professional checking in on my rabbit while I was away and making sure I knew my pet was cared for! Highly recommend to pet parents who are looking for a pet sitter that will love their pet as their own!

Committed team. The entire staff knew my puppy’s name when I dropped him off and he was happy, healthy and in a good mental state when i picked him him up. I’ll definitely board my pup here again, It’s worth the 80 mile drive each way to know my dog is happy and taken care off.

She’s 4 months, her first grooming - so I’m sure it wasn’t easy, they did a great job & she seemed to have been so comfortable & happy with their team. As a fur momma to a young skittish rescue pup and a first time user of a kennel, I had a lot of questions and nervousness. Morning Star immediately put me at ease. They kindly answered all of my questions, explained their daily routine and assured me my dog would be well care for. Morning Star patiently helped her overcome the initial anxiety, then eased her into the social groups to play and make friends. After 8 days I returned to a very happy, groomed and tired-in-a-good-way pup! I would recommend Morning Star to anyone looking for a safe, loving, home environment for their dogs that will ease your mind while you are away.

Lily loves her time at the pet resort. Everyone is very caring and I have no concerns leaving her there when I am away and can't have her with me. They do a wonderful job grooming as well.

Hello, My dog stayed at Morning Star Farm for the second time this past August and the staff were great. The resort and farm are a wonderful place for a dog if your dog is the type that would like a farm and has a lot of energy. The fact that this may be the first review I have written in years should speak volumes. Don’t hesitate to book-you won’t regret it and the break from your dog is nice one in a while! In closing we were very pleased and will use Morning Star again in the future!

Pennie’s Homestead is an absolute gem! They took great care of our dog Luke Skybarker while we went on our honeymoon for 10 days. He was pampered the entire time and communication daily was greatly appreciated. You can tell that Pennie cares about animals and that she went above and beyond to take care of my family member while I was gone. We will definitely contact her in the future if we need Luke to be taken care of. As mentioned in another review for Pennie, your dog will be at a resort while in Pennies care.

We could not be happier with the care that our cat and African grey parrot received. We were rather last minute looking for pet care and Pennie made everything work out for us. We would highly recommend Pennie and her staff for home pet care. We will definitely use their services again.

Pennie and Michele were great! Michele took excellent care of my senior Chihuahua as well as my home while I was away. I came home to a perfectly clean home and a happy doggie. Pennie's Homestead is THE most WONDERFUL pet sitter service EVER!!! The care, attention to detail, follow up, professionalism, and the love she has for her job and her furry clients are just a few shining examples of her superior work ethic. Our rescue, Dolly, was definitely not a candidate for kennel boarding due to her separation anxiety and we were so hesitant to schedule a vacation away. And then we had the good fortune to meet Pennie!! She instantly bonded with Dolly and we knew we could enjoy our trip knowing Dolly would be given the best of care and would be safe at home. There is a thorough interview before she takes the job and everything is covered to ensure the best quality care will be given to your pet(s) and I ASSURE YOU you it is given. We were sent daily updates and happy photos by text which was such a comfort and so appreciated. Not only was Dolly given the best of care, but also the house was in pristine condition when we got home. All I can say is WOW, we are so totally impressed! If you think you're leaving your dog behind with a "pet sitter" while you have a fantastic vacation - you are most mistaken! Your vacation may be OK or good, but it's not going to compare to the vacation your four-legged family member will have! Pennie is like an animal whisperer. Her own dogs and cats are incredible hosts. And, you can stay in a 5-star resort on your vacation - but your pet is going to have it even better! Gorgeous farm with acres if not miles to run and play with his/her new hosts, pond for swimming, swimming pool for chilling, steak for dinner (yes, I'm not kidding!) and more love than you could ever hope. We're spoiled. We don't live anywhere close to Stonington/Mystic CT and we're already trying to find a way to get Beau back to Pennie's Homestead the next time we have to take a trip. Just know, you'll be jealous of your dog when your trip is over.

Pennie is a fantastic dog sitter! She (and her adorable sidekick Granger) connected with our dog instantly and he had the best time with her. We got regular photos and updates of how happy our dog was, and he loved being outside and playing with other friendly dogs every day! We can’t wait to have him stay with Pennie again!

Pennie was recommended by our vet. Our 20 year old cat is hard to leave because she is fussy! If she does not eat or drink water,her health can tank quickly as she is only 6 lbs. We used Pennie on 2 occasions now,and we could not be more delighted!!! Attentive,reliable and compassionate. She cared for our kitty and sent pictures of her eating and drinking. Our cat LOVES her. She is highly recommended!

Pennie (and her dog Grainger) are the best. We planned a last minute trip and Pennie changed her schedule to accommodate us. Our dog Buoy had a blast and came home exhausted from racing around with Grainger! Best of all, I slept well knowing Buoy was in safe hands. They’re the best.

My dog, Smokey, is a frequent daycare flyer. He averages a visit about once a week. Smokey LOVES going to The Country Mutt. He becomes very excited to get to daycare as we get closer to the facility. After daycare, Smokey is exhausted and tuckered out. Michelle and her team are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They send home report cards and post highlight videos on Facebook that are always fun to watch. The facility is extremely well maintained. Smokey and I just finished their “Train & Drain” series for properly walking on a leash. With Michelle’s help, Smokey’s leash skills have improved drastically. We ❤️ The Country Mutt and highly recommend it!

Fantastic clean facility with great staff. They care about the dogs and have a huge area to play unlike many daycare facilities we have boarded our dogs. We're so happy that we found The Country Mutt. Our dog loves being there; he's really social and likes nothing better than running around outside with his pals (and, of course, lounging in the wading pool!). We bring him there for both daycare and boarding, and know that he's getting wonderful care and is having a great time. There are a lot of good kennels closer to us, but I'm willing to drive an hour and ten minutes round trip so our dog can go to The Country Mutt. Michelle is the best - she sets a high bar when it comes to the dogs' welfare and overall safety, and I'm so grateful for the TLC he gets when he's there.

Michelle, Alex and staff are absolutely amazing, best in the business in my opinion! We always feel comfortable when we board with them, there are never any concerns about safety or care that is being provided. The farm hangover after a full day of playing is a huge plus as well! During COVID, my wife and I decided to get our first dog – Tennessee Whiskey. Neither of us have had a dog before, and we were woefully unprepared. Luckily, we found Michelle at Country Mutt. In the past few years, Michelle has helped us with all aspects of care and training of our dog. Michelle helped us with crate training, behavior adjustments, and with the gentle leader. We regularly use the daily enrichment program and appreciate that Tennessee Whiskey has a huge play area and within a well-controlled play group. Tennessee Whiskey comes home happy and ‘dog-tired’. We use the boarding, and as our dog is familiar with the facilities and staff it makes the whole experience much less stressful for owners and dog. We cannot recommend Country Mutt enough.

Michelle and the whole staff at The County Mutt are amazing , caring , well educated and overall just a wonderful place to leave my dog for the day !!!! The play area is clean and well staffed to keep all the dogs safe . My Waffle loves going there and I’m so comfortable leaving Waffle there , I would highly recommend this wonderful establishment to anyone looking for doggie daycare

PAWSOME!!! We boarded our two dogs with The Country Mutt for 15 days this summer. I swear when we went to pick them up they were sad to leave. What an amazing and enriching adventure they had. Lots of playtime, enrichment activities, farm walks and exercise. Michelle, George,Crystal and the whole staff at The Country Mutt all made our puppers feel at home and loved. I cannot say enough about the care and attention that they provided. Just knowing they were so well looked after made our vacation that much more enjoyable. Five stars is not enough! Kelsey & Jackson have been going to The Country Mutt since they were pups, so for several years now. I can truly say that taking them to The Farm once/wk for doggie daycare has been one of the best things I've done for them. As we drive up the road approaching The Farm, K&J get excited; they really do seem to know that they're going to their favorite place, to spend time with their pup friends, as well as some of their favorite human friends, as The Mutt team is fabulous! Truly fabulous! Michelle, Crystal, George & Alex really care about all of the dogs under their watch. The feeling is genuine...These people are genuine!! The team is invested in providing a safe, clean, caring and enriching environment; they're not babysitting, as I'm guessing is the case @ many daycares. If I could give 10++++++ stars? I seriously would do so as I cannot thank Michelle and team enough for what they have done for Kelsey & Jackson, as well as for me! Love you guys!!!

No matter where I'm living, when I get another dog she will come to Markover for training. Joe did a phenomenal job teaching Nellie how to be the best pet and bird dog. Nellie was the WILDEST child with hints of loyalty, but a HUGE prey drive and therefore flight risk. I didn't want to send her to training for the fear of missing her too much but it ended up being the best decision ever. I get compliments on her obedience on almost every walk/run we take. If you're considering a board and train do it! Your dog will have a blast here. Nellie is always thrilled to be back at the preserve (and you know it's a good place when they encourage dogs on the couch - see photo attached)

We first brought our 2 dogs in for daycare for a few weeks prior to boarding to get them used to the kennel and new people. I'm glad I found you guys and felt we made the right decision for the boys. I trust Markover over anyone to watch my dogs and have referred others to them. Everything was clean, spacious for doggies to run around and great staff and family that make things run smooth and put myself at ease. We will definitely be back!!

We brought our 7-year-old rescue to Markover for training. It was a wonderful experience. He now walks quietly at my side without lunging at others on the street. It was a pleasure to work with Joe, the trainer. He answered all my questions both before and after the training and was most patient as he trained ME!

We’ve locally boarded our German Shepherd, Luca, for several years with ZERO satisfaction from another kennel. After some research, my wife came across Markover Kennels that came with high reviews. Initially, we had Luca groomed at Markover back in May with Cathy. Luca responded very positively, where he looked happy and handsome! Most recently, we decided to board Luca at Markover Kennels for 8 days while on a family summer vacation….REMARKABLE! Justin and his staff gave Luca tons of attention and walks. We have gone to Markover 3-4 times with my baby Rosie. Today she had a spa date with Michelle the groomer, who is just marvelous with our little girl! I highly recommend this place!!♥️

We have a very shy dog, pitbull mix. She had only been in a kennel 3 other xs., but that kennel closed. When u have a shy, timid dog it's difficult to find a kennel that u feel confident in. Markover was the best choice! We brought her once for a grooming and she did great, even with hearing dogs barking. It's easy to tell if people are dog lovers, and the owner and staff are absolutely dog lovers! They let our dog come to them, and she actually did!! Dogs are very perspective, so this was a positive for us. If a dog doesn't eat, they cook chicken and rice to add to their food. They take them for walks, and when we came to pick her up, she was out for her ( morning walk ) with one of the staff. All this is explained to us prior to leaving her. And they gave us a report as to how she did. I can't say enough positive things about Mark over kennels, and would highly recommend them. Thank you again Dave and Sue

Cady Falls Grooming at Markover Kennels If you are looking for a groomer that is not only excellent at listening to how you want your family pet groomed but most importantly cares for your pet like it was part of her own family - then Cathy is the right groomer for you. Our MalShi, Dusty, was never a happy camper when he sensed he was going in for a grooming, but all that changed with Cathy and we are thankful for that. We travel extensively, and we would have to take him to different groomers - but not after Cathy - Now we wait to get back to CT to take him to Cathy. Shr has been grooming Dusty for several years. She is also a breeder of award winning dogs and we think that training has helped to make her the caring groomer she is. The new facilities are spotless, and state of the art - so aside of knowing your dog is in good hands with Cathy - you and your dog are in a great facility. While I wish they would set up a second shop in Glastonbury, CT - For now, she and the new facility are worth the trip. For boarding -Heated cement indoor/outdoor area but they provide raised hammock beds for the dogs. On site there is also grooming and training. One stop shopping which is wonderful. Really nice people.

We recently sent our two 8-month old Labrador retrievers for four-week e-collar off-leash training with Carlee. We truly cannot say enough great things about the QK team from our first inquiry to the day we picked them up. Carlee was INCREDIBLE to work with. She is so knowledgeable and passionate about her job, which shined through in the growth and progress she made with our dogs. They are so much calmer, happier, and more focused after the time they spent working with Carlee. Professional training is an investment, but doing it through QK was a great decision and was worth every penny.

Carlos and the QK team did a fabulous job on training my lab. It's a blast to watch her enjoy the freedom of off leash exploring. Amazing upland bird capabilities too! Extremely professional establishment and wonderful people. Highly recommend!

I brought my 6 month old pudelpointer here for the puppy class and added some gun dog training into it. 15 day class was long on my kids missing there new puppy but well worth it. Chris is very knowledgeable and did a great job with him and the dog has learned alot from what I have seen after 1 day of being home. I will be returning in the fall for some more gun dog tune up.

Just picked up my 7 mo. GSP puppy from a 2 week puppy training/intro to bird training with Carlos and I could not be more thankful! He is so much more confident, calm and respectful. It’s like night and day! I can’t wait to continue his training with QK and Carlos!

I have been taking my dog there for over a year for training and play care. She absolutely loves going and is so tired when she gets home. The trainers are great and my dog and I have learned so much from them. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I am very comfortable leaving her at QK and I know that she is in great hands.

Personally speaking, the grounds are amazing. The property is absolutely perfect for training dogs. So glad that we chose QK Kennels. I dealt with Hilary and Carlos. Quinebaug Kennels is in my view the best dog training facility in New England. Their staff has deep experience and talent, and the produce astounding results.

Went for puppy boot camp and couldn't be happier. The staff worked with our 9 y/o daughter to help her feel confident in what she was doing with our 4 month old husky. We will absolutely be back for play care for continued work and training. Doesn't hurt to have a tired puppy at the end of it all either.

We met Tim back around 2002. After using 2 other pet sitting services that lied & put our pets at serious risk...They said they were at our place ,but they both lied. That's when I did a extensive search for a new pet sitter. We found Summit Pet Sitting , we met with Tim & looked over his all his referrals & found them to be terrific ... One of my cats was Diabetic & Tim is totally trained in giving injections. Both our cats were loving cats .Merlin was a dog in a cats body. Sheba was a bit more of a one person cat, but in time Tim was able to gain her trust. If we asked Tim to call or other certain requests he was awesome. He is loyal, trustworthy & caring person. I can not endorse Tim & Summit Pet Sitting enough.

Tim has been caring for our dogs and fish in our home for the past 7 years. We are now moving out of state and literally the worst part about leaving is that we will no longer have Tim around to take care of our animals (we tried to convince him to go with us but he politely declined). We found Tim 7 years ago after a bad experience with a previous pet sitter. Before we found Tim, we had been ready to cancel a trip because we were no longer comfortable leaving our dogs with the pet sitter we had been using. We found Tim, called his (glowing) references, had him over to meet our animals, and we hired him at the last minute. Since then, he has probably stayed at our house at least 25 times over the years. We have had our dogs stay at his house several times as well. Tim is very flexible and accommodating. Our dogs love him. He probably takes better care of them than we do. Tim has stayed with our 2 dogs and 2 cats twice while we went on vacation. It is much less stressful on the pets to have someone stay with them in their regular environment rather than boarding. Tim takes great care of them, and sends daily updates and pictures! The dogs are always happy and tired from lots of play time when we get home. I highly recommend Summit Pet Sitting!

Tim has been our dog-sitter for the past few years and he has consistently provided us with reliable service. Most recently, Tim watched our dogs during our honeymoon. He noticed one of our dogs had a foot infection and took her to the vet after consulting us. We are grateful his attentiveness to our dogs' well-being led to a speedy recovery. He writes daily reports on our dogs' activities and also takes care of your mail/plants/others as needed. In addition, our dogs love seeing Tim whenever he walks into the apartment -- this gives us a tremendous peace of mind when we have to leave them home. Timothy Smith is the owner of Summit Pet Sitting. He has been walking our Lhasa Apso "Lexi " three mornings a week for nearly three years. During that stretch he has never missed an appointment. On the rare occasion he can't make it he finds a substitute walker so our service is uninterrupted. You cannot find reliability like that anywhere! Besides his dependability, Timothy is very trustworthy. He has had a key to our home for the duration of the relationship. He can be counted on to let himself into the house, leash & walk our dog, responsibly dispose of the poop, fill the food & water dishes, and lock the door on the way out. In the beginning Tim made sure the dog was comfortable with him. It didn't take long for Lexi to warm up to him and now she looks forward to seeing him! Timothy also will administer medications to Lexi whenever necessary such as the time she had an ear infection and needed ointment applied. He also reports anything unusual like the time Lexi had a urinary tract infection. He noticed blood in her urine and texted a picture to me right away so we could bring her to the vet ASAP. We also board our dog with Tim whenever we travel. He will bring Lexi to his house and care for her like she is his own pet. In addition to his top notch service, Timothy is very reasonably priced. He provides excellent value but most importantly he puts our minds at ease knowing Lexi is in safe hands. He also seamlessly handled a few instances where we had a second dog at our house and treated that dog exactly the same as Lexi at no additional cost. Tim is awesome. We have 3 hounds, Cora, Mojo and Bennie. They loved being cared by him. He sends pictures and truly cares about his guests. We have used him twice and were extremely satisfied. When we mention his name the tails begin to wag profusely. My wife and I get jealous. Highly recommend this company. Safe, reliable, dependable and affordable pet care.

Summit Pet Sitting is the best. Tim gets my dog. She is an older dog and can get stubborn and cranky. Tim still gets her to walk and play and makes sure she is cared for and safe. He also gives her her medications and never charges extra fees like the kennels do. I could not recommend him more highly. I can go on vacation with total peace of mind.

Tim has always been great with our dogs, and you can tell from the very first encounter that he is an animal person through and through. We always know that boarding with him is their home away from home, and can’t recommend his services enough!

Dealing with Tim is fantastic! Tim took care of our lab "Sarge" for a few days while we were on vacation and we didn't worry once about his care. We would receive daily updates and picture/videos of him hanging out and during playtime. It was a great experience dealing with Summit Pet Sitting.

We have a 3 year old Boxer mix named Koda who is a rescue. She is incredibly wary and fearful of strangers and loudly announces her feelings. We are trying to work on this with her but we still have a ways to go! We recently got married and on that weekend, lost our trusted dog sitter as they were also at the wedding. We got a recommendation from a good friend of ours who is also a local town’s Animal Control Officer. We highly value her opinion as she is working with dogs like Koda daily and if she vouches for someone, it’s for a reason. We spoke with Tim and right away knew that we liked him, but he wanted to be sure that KODA would like HIM. We set up a meeting and Tim came over for an hour to introduce himself to Koda and see how things went. She was initially wary, as she always is, but Tim’s warm nature and experience with difficult dogs showed immediately as Koda very quickly warmed up to him. His knowledge of dog behavior and confidence with reactive dogs made the whole meeting process go smoothly and we were ready to proceed. Tim was willing to watch Koda in his home as we felt like that would be the best option for her. He set up another meeting with us to make sure that that Koda would be receptive to staying at his house and would get along with his dog Rose. Upon arrival at his house, Koda immediately recognized him and leapt in his lap, licking his face! The weekend he watched her went off without a hitch and Tim sent update messages and pictures to keep our mind at ease. All in all, we HIGHLY recommend Tim to anyone needing a dog sitter, be it for a super friendly dog or for one with special requirements like ours. We are incredibly thankful to have found Tim and are thrilled to have found our new dog sitter for the future!
