Seàn was an amazing pet and house sitter! He was super communicative and took amazing care of my dog Nala and cat Bruce. They were happy and loved while I was away- I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for the two little fur babies! He sent great pictures and checked in every day so I had nothing to worry about. On top of all that, he also kept my place immaculately clean and left my place in wonderful shape. We can’t wait to have him back to sit and I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for a sitter!
. We were absolutely delighted with the care Summer provided for our cats. Without a doubt, she is the best cat sitter we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her attentiveness and genuine affection for our cats were evident in every interaction. Throughout our holidays, she kept us constantly updated with daily pictures and detailed updates, which gave us immense peace of mind. Additionally, she maintained our house in immaculate condition, keeping everything clean and tidy. This level of consideration and dedication went above and beyond our expectations, and we deeply appreciated her efforts. Summer’s exceptional service made our holiday experience truly worry-free and enjoyable.
Great pet sitter - took perfect care of our cat and our home. They were super communicate leading up to and during the sit and left our apartment in great shape. I'd absolutely recommend them to any future sitters!
We were so pleased to meet John and Trisha! We had them come in a day before we left and enjoyed a nice meal with them and they got to meet Delilah (even if she didn’t seem interested) but she soon warmed up to them - except for the Cat Videos - she wasn’t very interested 🤣 When we returned our home was so clean (probably cleaner than we left it)! We got frequent pics and updates on our Princess! They also left us with a Progress Report with Delilah’s activities and what they did at the house before they left. We would highly recommend John & Trisha if you are lucky enough to have them apply for a House Sitters job! Bill, Kathy & Delilah 🐈⬛❤️
Quinn was an amazing sitter for my cat Moon! She regularly checked in with updates on moon while we were away on a two week vacation, and seemed to give her plenty of attention, play with her, etc. Communication was easy and she left our apartment spotless after departing. Highly recommend her as a pet sitter!
Wow! Just wow! We cannot say enough about the care and compassion Trisha and John provided to our cats and our home. We are always somewhat nervous about a new pet sitter in our home, but that all faded when we met this wonderful couple. They provided daily updates as requested, complete with pictures, videos and personalized captions. Upon our return, we were greeted by happy and content kitties. There was no sign of anxiety in Tika! Yea!!! Our home was clean, the sheets and towels were washed and bed remade! They even left behind thank you notes and little gifts! What a breath of fresh air these two individuals are! We hope to have them back again soon.
Angel was absolutely the best house sitter we could have hoped for. She is a very warm, open and diligent person and our two cats adored her. She looked after our house and garden with really conscientious care. She won over our very timid cat, Billie, and sent regular photos of both cats looking supremely content which gave us perfect peace of mind. The house was completely spotless on our return and the garden was fabulous... no mean feat since there was a heatwave while we were away and she kept everything watered and in great condition. We would have Angel back at the drop of a hat and cannot recommend her highly enough.
Oh wow! Everyone should be so lucky to have Nicholas and Veerle watch their house and pets. These lovely people are pros! They communicated early and often, were super accommodating to some last minute changes (it was originally going to be only our cats to watch but we decided to keep the dog home as well so that added to the schedule and care needs) and they left the house spotless and all set up for another sitter who came in after them. We didn’t get the chance to meet because my departure and arrival times but I dearly hope I get to in the future because they were just great! I even heard how nice they were from My neighbors who say them out walking our dog. :-) They also sent regular pictures of the pets which look like pro-photography! Cannot recommend this couple enough! Your pets and house will be in good hands!
Tonya was great and filled in after our other sitter had to cancel. She was very self sufficient and navigated acclimating herself to everything since she arrived after we left. She gave thoughtful updates on my cat and I could tell she really enjoyed her, so that means the world to me! She left the place immaculate and we will certainly have Tonya back!
Pennee and Bill were the BEST pet sitters and guests ever! I really wanted them to stay forever ! Our cat, Miss Kitty bonded so much to them, that she really wasn’t that happy to see me when I got home .Our cat is a finicky eater and they tried all different types of food and treats for her. They sent me regular photos of miss kitty and I knew everything was great when most of the pics had miss kitty on their lap. Our cat doesn’t take to many people but she immediately fell in love with them. Pennee sent us our mail and prescription meds on a regular basis , and went out of her way to take care of any issues . They fell in love with the neighbors and community and just made our lives so easy . We experienced the Covid 19 virus outbreak quarantine during this time and Pennee and Bill agreed to stay a month longer at our home . They were extremely flexible with their travel plans so that everyone would be safe. Upon our arrival home, we were greeted with a bouquet of flowers , beautiful hanging basket of flowers for outdoors and a beautiful bottle of wine . And our house had never been cleaner ! Bill and Pennee are a pet owners dream couple !I felt extremely lucky to have found such a great petsitter and new friend . We will be visiting each other in the future .

Great kennel, great people and excellent care for our small dogs. Facility is clean, secluded off any main roads and family environment. Laura and staff treats all dogs as their own!
They took great care of our babies. If you are looking for a place to board your babies look no further! Hilltop Kennels is the best.
Took excellent care of our dogs while we were away!! I could tell my dogs had a good time and were loved while we were on vacation.
Amazing- anyone struggling with their dog should bring them here. We brought our dog to Sue maybe three/four years ago as a last resort. Our sweet dog was getting intolerable as she grew older and stronger. Sue taught many wonderful things (including “place” which saves the poor mail man) and now that our dog is 5 years old and we have a 4 month old puppy, we will definitely be sending our new pup to Sue for the same training. Thank you Sue for teaching Bear (and us) so well! See you soon for the next pup.
I had adopted a small dog that had experienced some sort of trauma. The advice we were given with our short training visit paid off. She also counseled patience with the dog and that we have understanding that her whole world had changed and she was simply not certain of anything. Her routines were disrupted and she had no certainty of her place in the social order. So, we gave her some room while establishing routines that were more in her comfort zone. Now, that little dog is very sure of herself and honestly one of the best dogs I ever adopted. Thanks Jenny!
I cannot recommend Paw Paws Canine College enough! I took my 11 month golden retriever to Jenny and Sue for the board training program. After three weeks with them, my dog was incredibly well behaved. After the initial board train, we went back every month for the follow individual sessions which were enormously helpful for advanced skills. People are always commenting on how well behaved she is. She can be in a long down stay, courtesy when guests come to the door, great on leash, and we're continuing to work on off leash skills. All of this is because of Jenny and Sue. My dog also loved them and was so excited every time we pulled into the driveway. If you're looking for great trainers for your pup, look no further than Paw Paws!
I will be writing updated review in about a month or less, after my precious 'Spirit' Graduates. But for now, talking with these women gave me such good vibes towards their animals, that I'm trusting to leave my little one there for several weeks, despite my own anxiety separation issues!🐕🐾🐾❤ I already highly recommend Paw Paws Canine College.
Sue is very knowledgeable and professional. She is dedicated to her clients and works to ensure that both pet and the “pet’s family” are comfortable and understanding of her training program. My dogs Daiseymae and Dakotah love going there and are always excited to see Sue! I know when I leave my dogs in her care that they could not be in safer or more capable hands.
Such an excellent investment made for my dog and myself. My goldendoodle puppy is noticeably better behaved as a result of the training he received at Paw Paws Canine College. Jenny not only provided the initial training, but also provided training to continue on with to strengthen and advance the skills learned. Jenny took wonderful care of my dog while he was with her. I appreciated her professionalism, communication, and expertise for dog training. I would not hesitate to recommend Paw Paws Canine College.
Sue has trained several dogs for me over the course of almost 30 years. She is the absolute best person for training your dog and for training you, with a lesson when you pick up the dog and with follow up lessons, if needed, to take care of your trained dog. Dogs love her and respond well to her technique. She is readily available to answer questions and provide advice when you run into issues. I have never had a doggie issue that she could not help me fix. And, I have had lots of doggie issues over the years; housebreaking, chewing, barking, etc. I admit, most of the issues were from me not following her advice to the smallest detail. I used to board my animals with her until I moved to another state. I have never had one animal that did not get excited to see her when I got near her business. My dogs Gini, a Border Collie mix, and Quincy, a Pomeranian, are the best dogs in the whole world. They are sweet, loving, ornery, and sometimes bossy. But, they are also very obedient and I can take them anywhere without worrying about doggie issues. Sue is also a great humanitarian - she rescues animals and places them in homes that are a good fit for the animal as well as the owner. She has helped me truly enjoy the relationships I have had with my dogs. Now that I know the joy a trained dog brings, I would not live with one that was untrained. So, I hope she stays in business the rest of my days. Even though I live in Arizona, now, If and when I need another dog trained, she will be my go to trainer. Thank GOD animals can fly on planes!!
I cannot say enough good things about Sue Clauss, and the services she provides. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional in working with my dog and I. I took our 4 month old Greater Swiss Mountain pup to her last May... (with my knowing NOTHING about how to train a dog). Three weeks later we picked up our pup and I was amazed at how much she had learned and mastered in that time frame. The real challenge for Sue was that she now had to train ME. I have learned so much from her and am still leaning today. Sue walks the talk when it comes to having the dog and the owner achieve success. Sue has met me at our local grocery store parking lot and our Tractor Supply store to work on socialization issues. She has come to our home to work with us. She is straight forward in her approach, with both my dog and myself, ( a value I appreciate). Today, I have a wonderful companion in my dog. She is an obedient and respectful member of our family, thanks to Sue. I now use a collar and leash only when in public, thanks to the training my dog and I both have received. I also Board my dog with Sue. While there are boarding places closer to my home, I want the best for our dog when I am away, so I go out of my way to take our dog to Sue, as I know that she is very well cared for there. I highly recommend Sue Clauss and her training program for any dog and any person that is willing to put in the time to learn what Sue can teach them. Thanks Sue for all you do, I am truly grateful.
My 13 year old dog, Maggie, is such a well behaved dog. Love it that when I get invited to a friends house, she's always included. Her manners are almost perfect and I owe it all to Sue Clauss at Paw Paws Canine College in Slanesville, W VA. Maggie had obedience training and then post grad classes in off leash training from Sue, and I couldn't ask for a better dog. Sue's been on my mind a lot lately because I'm taking care of a 6 mth old pup that acts like it's on drugs. Hyper active, mischievous but cute. I can't even take him for a walk he misbehaves so badly. Maggie was like that once. I keep thinking about how much he could learn at PAWPAWS Canine College, but now I'm too far away to recommend him to her owner. Too bad. Sue always puts the animals first and trains them with kindness. I hope she knows how much she's appreciated. Sue's whole life has been devoted not just to dog training and kenneling, but also to rescue animals, caring for them, healing them and loving them. She's terrific! Thank you Sue.
Save your money. I don’t understand how you can claim to be a dog trainer and then return a dog who behaves worse than before training. At least my dog would come before training and now when given a “Here” command she runs in the opposite direction. Find someone else if you are looking.
My Cinnamon loved her stay. Always happy and the staff sent pics everyday with updates. The additional services offered are worth the money Strongly recommend
We were so pleased to find Golden Wood Boarding for our 3 furbabies. The staff is very sweet & the business is extremely professional. The kennel floors are heated, and kept very clean. Video surveillance is a must, and there's constant monitoring to ensure the animals safety. Calls are answered in a timely manner, and that is EXTREMELY important to me. Each kennel has a photo of the dog, along with their daily feeding & potty info. We got a photo of their smiling faces, and even a report card to show how their day went. The extra services (there is a reasonable cost for those) help them to relax, and truly enjoy their stay. Honestly, I was very nervous about their first visit, but the communication was on point & VERY much appreciated! This will definitely be one of their 'vacation spots' while we enjoy our time away. Thanks for caring about our 'kids' as we do!!!
Thank you so very much for taking such great care of Obi! Judging from the images sent to us, Obi had a wonderful time and we look forward boarding him again. I will recommend your services to every dog owner I know. Thanks once again!
The dogs were well taken care let me say that first! BUT the price we paid was CRAZY compared to when it was Widows Mite. Again not complaining about the care, we just can’t personally afford them. It’s truly a shame. We go to Harvest Moon for most of our boarding but they were booked for this weekend so we gave them a shot. Thanks for taking care of our pups but you gotta come down on the cost. AND TRUST ME I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR MY DOGS. ❤️
We've boarded our dog Levi here in the past when they were still known as Widow's Mite Kennels. Golden Wood, Lappans Rd is a VERY nice kennel. The staff are exceptionally friendly and kind to your animals. They even give you extras so your dog can have a good vacation too. You do have to pay for the extras, but, it's reasonably priced. You do however have to pay them to give your dog medicine if needed, but, it's all reasonably priced too. And, you pay when you pick up your dog(s). They took such good care of our dog Levi, even giving us 2 pictures of him. They are a chain of kennels, so, their prices to board are a little higher than when it was Widow's Mite Kennels. I'd board our dog there again. It's nice there and the dogs have plenty of room to run. 10/10 recommend.
I love the staff and the facility at Golden Wood Lappans Crossroads MD! My golden retriever has the best time there each visit. She gets so excited when we arrive!
Clean facility, excellent customer service and professional.Engaged with our fur babies on a 1:1 .Quick response to emails and provided pictures and reports while our fur babies were there.Looking forward to daycare services in the future
These young girls are amazing and so professional and caring. I especially enjoyed the photos sent with their report card. I will definitely board here again. Well worth the price❤️🐾 …
The employees really do care for my dog. Great communication regarding the dogs stay at Golden Wood. It is a great facility. I like it and so does the dog.
I have looked high and low for a good boarding facility in the DMV and have finally found it here. I live in Washington, DC but I will gladly make the 1.5 hour commute to board my pup here. This facility used to be run by Widow’s Mite and my family has used them for decades.I was a bit scared when I heard the news that the management changed, but I couldn't be any more happier. Although I miss Marcie (from Widow’s Mite) I have to give a big shout out to Kelsey who seems to have a great connection with my dog, Kairo. Kairo is high energy and I was told from Widow’s mite, an escape artist, which always makes me feel a bit scared. But Kairo has shown no signs of trying to escape and I really believe it is because he enjoys his time here. There are many large runs where he can play outside and get his energy out. I also want to share that I have had so many issues with boarding my dog at other facilities in Maryland, VA and DC, and then him coming back with Kennel Cough at other facilities that have a warehouse style setting that is primarily indoors. This facility is the first place that has never made my dog sick from kennel cough. Please take a visit, no matter where you live in the DMV or Pennsylvania. For me, I will gladly drive to the moon and back knowing my dog is safe, well cared for, and getting a great amount of time outside. I look forward to getting to know more of the Golden Wood staff and happy to say I will be sticking with this boarding facility.
Very happy with BR Acres, this is ONLY place for daycare/boarding that my dogs were legitimately excited/running out of the car/not looking back when we arrived - both dogs knowing that this was the play place and not giving me a second …
They take great care of my dog, and she seems pretty happy whenever I drop her off. They also offer other services like nail clipping, bathing, etc. They will provide food, but I'm not sure if they charge you for that. We always bring our own because of food allergies. There is a vet on premise 24 hours. They raised their prices, which is now $70 a day. Overall, it's a great place to board your dog.
I have been kenneling my dogs with Blue Ribbon Acres for more than 20 years and absolutely recommend them. They have added daycare and grooming to their services and my Lab puppy loves his daycare days. The staff truly love dogs and I feel so comfortable knowing my fur baby is well cared for when I'm at the office or traveling.
Like most dog moms, I am very particular about the care of my dog and it pains be to be away from them. Yet Blue Ribbon is the ONLY place I would consider boarding my dogs. They are out more than 5 times/day in yards with trees and grass where they only play with other dogs if it’s safe and appropriate. The owner is hands-on with decades of experience not only in running a kennel but successfully training and showing dogs. I know my dogs are getting the best care!
Just outside of Fairfax County! I love this place or more accurately, my dog LOVES this place. Jennifer and her team do a bang up job of taking care of my active 1+ year old doberman. They also make it very easy for my busy lifestyle as they provide curb service for the pooch, both picking him up and dropping him off for an additional charge. Our dog enjoys it so much that he jumps into the van when it arrives...which sometimes makes me feel that we aren't good enough parents. The farm has a large fenced area where the dogs can play outside and they always give him a bath before returning him to us. I wouldn't board him anywhere else for an extended period of time. We found Blue Ribbon through the recommendation of a neighbor and since that time, have found a number of other folks that use the service. I have never heard a single complaint about Blue Ribbon except for the occasional disappointment about how much the dogs enjoy the place!
I can’t say enough about Blue Acres! Our golden doodle, Yeti, tried a few others to no avail. He would pull on his leash to go back to the car. When we pull in here his tail says it all! The staff is fantastic! Worth the drive. :)
I love this place ! (and so does my dog) It is a bit out of the way, but well worth it. My dog comes back much happier than he does from any other kennel and I never worry about what they do with him there - at other kennels he has come back a little leery of people, even me, and that worries me. He gets lots of interaction and positive reinforcement here. Love them!
Best pet hotel in DC area. Jennifer and her team take great care of our furry friends.
We love BRA. They take such great care of our dog when we are away.
Fantastic kennel- clean, modern. The staff is very professional and friendly. The dogs love it.
