Toby and Chloe were amazing pet sitters. It wasn’t the easiest sit - a nervous dog and 3 cats with various ailments and medication to have, but they took it all in their stride and cared for them so well without any issues. Our nervous dog Zelda warmed to them in just 2 days which is a record for house sitters so far! I also really enjoyed getting to know them over dinner the night before I left, they’re very easygoing and positive people. They also left the house spotless for when I came back. I would love to have them sit for us again. You can rest assured your house and animals are in safe hands with this lovely pair!
I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
Ally was great! We got to meet for a few minutes before I headed out and I felt super reassured that both Goose and my home were in good hands. My cat is picky when it comes to strangers, but he was comfy in Ally’s lap right away the first night! She communicated well and sent cute pictures while I was away. My home was clean and Goose was happy when o got back. I highly recommend Ally as a sitter and she’s welcomed back anytime!
Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
If you are looking for someone to take care of your fur babies and your house while you're away, Daniel is your guy! I had discovered zeewoi just a couple of weeks before I was to leave on vacation and I was not only apprehensive if the website was too good to be true, but also under a real time crunch. I reached out to over 100 local sitters and several possibilities fell through. I was confident I would find the right sitter and when Daniel applied for the sit and I started to text and converse with him, I knew I had found the perfect sitter for my two cats! Daniel was upbeat and positive, articulate and personable, warm and caring, and he asked all the right questions about Lilly and Eli (I hadn't had the time to complete my Welcome Guide, yet!?!). I shared that I had an easy cat and problem cat -- Lilly, who is sweet, social and eats dry food, and Eli who is skittish, was periodically pooping outside the kitty litter box and was eating prescription canned food twice a day mixed with a probiotic and stool firmer. I asked if he thought he was up for the job and he happily said he was. Since he flew all the was from Chicago, I thought the least my husband and I could do was pick him up at the airport. When he arrived, he pulled out his notebook. He patiently walked with me as I reviewed kitty care, showed him around the house, and where he would be sleeping. He immediately picked up Lilly who was excited about meeting her new friend and Eli bugged out and down the stairs to the basement (his favorite hiding place!). We got Daniel connected to the internet, set him up at our dining room table and headed off to airport, leaving our house and kitties in the best of hands. Daniel wanted to make sure I felt comfortable and assured while we were away. He made sure to text with me every other day (he had asked my preference earlier), sent photos of Lilly being her cute self while Eli hid during the day although he gave me assurances that he was eating his food and using the litter box (there were a few accidents, but Daniel never complained about these additional duties). When we returned from our vacation, the house was also spotless and well cared for and Daniel had even washed the sheets for me! It is with utter happiness and complete confidence that I recommend Daniel as a fantastic Sitter. He is trustworthy, responsible, caring, and competent, and you can rest assured that both your house and sweet pets will be watched over and treated with TLC -- and will truly be in the best of hands while you are away!
Jenima is an excellent sitter! She is organized, communicative and flexible throughout the stay. We needed a sitter at the last minute because Jazz got sick, and Jenima saved us. We left a little worried about him, but Jenima took care of him really well and kept us informed. Cats love her! We definitely recommend her to take care of your pets!
Lindsey watched our cat and dog for a long weekend when we went out of town. She was a very communicative sitter sending frequent pictures and voice notes with updates. She did a great job of following their schedules and giving them attention. The animals seemed to be happy and relaxed when we returned home and I believe Lindsey enjoyed getting to discover all of the eateries our town has to offer. A win-win for everyone!
Jose was a wonderful pet/house sitter for us recently. We highly recommend him. He was wonderfully reliable and responsible and took such good care of our two pets. On short notice Jose drove down from Grass Valley to the East Bay for a bit of a quiet get-away while working a really hard job teaching online. We know how hard that is firsthand and partly why we needed our own get-away for a last-minute backpacking trip. We have a recently rescued pit bull and a rescued cat that we're still introducing to each other to make sure the dog doesn't eat the cat (as he seems to want to), and the cat doesn't blind the dog (as she would if he tried to eat her). That might be more background than is needed in a review but Jose made us feel comfortable about everything because of how conscientious and responsible he clearly is. We could tell when we talked to him that he was genuinely kind and eminently trustworthy. We are very grateful and hope Jose was happy with everything too because we know what a value his care was to us. Jose truly deserves any and all house-sitting gigs that strike his interest. Ours was not the easiest and he was amazing. Get him if you can.
Super nice sitters and extremely flexible. Really enjoyed their company and I only regret that I was too frazzled to chat with them more and get to know them! Kept the house super clean, pets loved them. Dog especially. Had a little problem with my new kitten not meshing well with the older cats (which was not too surprising since cats can be territorial). Pennee was very patient and gave me constant updates and tips. And the older cat was much more calm when I came home. Highly recommend and welcome back anytime!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?

Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. When we lived in Missouri our Mini pin/Chihuahua Emma didn't like the Lake pet clinic they would muzzle her and she always snapped at the staff we think they were abusive towards her. But when we first took Emma here no need for muzzle and she's never snapped at any of the staff here. The woman said hand her to me backwards and wrapped a towel around her and trimmed her nails in 3 minutes she also calmly talked to Emma reassuring her everything is okay and was very gentle with her and we were leaving. We only paid $10 at lake pet clinic but here it's $15 but hey as good as they were handling my Lil girl i was happy to pay a couple of extra bucks they're such friendly people and love animals and care. Oh Ps. They give the pets a treat when they're done. Lol watch out for the cat Oscar the Grouch 😂 he's just so friendly ❤️👍 We recommend Pawsitively Purrfect.
The team is is amazing. Very good with both of our pups and very personable and engaging with my wife and I. They also give both of our puppies wonderful haircuts each time we take them in.
Ty so much 💓 it was a great experience the people were very knowledgeable n kind to my puppy 🐶 ❤️ I will go back. …
Did a great job grooming my dogs. My dogs are sweet but dramatic and usually require a little extra patience. They took the time to do an excellent job grooming them while taking good care of them as well. They look beautiful and I would recommend to anyone looking for a groomer. They will be my go-to moving forward! Thanks so much Pawsitively Puttfect!
They are always very courteous and I have a very active 5 year old Toy Poodle . The groomers did a different cut on his head which I really like. Also great job on his feet. Thanks
Took my dog there to get his nails cut and they were done in a matter of minutes. The ladies were so nice and very good with my dog. First time going there and will definitely be returning next time and in the future!
All staff is extremely professional, considerate and patient with the animals! I have watched them take time with each animal and go above and beyond to calm their anxiety. Pricing is very reasonable and my dog always looks amazing!
I take my dog to Pawsitively Purrfect and have been very happy with their services. My dog always looks great and their prices are reasonable. My dog has separation anxiety and usually flips out when I leave him with a groomer, but he's so comfortable here he doesn't even react when I leave him. The staff is always courteous and friendly and my dog is so at ease! I will not take my dog anywhere else.
Absolutely love this business! They do an excellent job with my Cocker Spaniel. They take their time and always check to see if I am satisfied with their job when I come to pick him up. Staff are always friendly. My little guy always looks dapper after his "spa day".
Decided to try this groomer based on reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We got a next day appointment and she took great care of my kids. My fat Lab is all fluffy and handsome and our Shih Tzu is back to being our Diva Princess!!! Highly recommend!!!
For our dogs in 2021 this was a 1 star experience at best. If your dogs are already comfortable with the heavy smell of smoke (maybe between 2021 and 2024 this has improved?) then they might not have any issue with this. The owner provided services twice when due to a lack of openings at our preferred kennel we found this place and based on reviews risked it. (we have since found additional options and will drive over an hour to avoid this experience) I will admit (and in my email from September 15, 2021 to them providing vaccination records and written reminder) that although one of our 2 rescue dogs is quite friendly and desires constant attention, the other had a very traumatic early life and requires extra patience and gentle care. The first trip was short and although we had concerns about the level of smoke we recognized that to the best of our knowledge at the time there were not many other options. Upon returning from our second trip, our dogs had lost a noticeable amount of weight and took weeks to return to their normal playful personalities. (We have not had this issue with other kennels) the owner told us that our dog “was mean” This review might look similar to a duplicate entry from my wife; the owner responded to that by saying that our dogs have never stayed there - which raises concerns for us about their record keeping.
This was our 1st time boarding our lab, Buddy. Garnett was great at reassuring us that Buddy would be well taken care of. She also welcomed our calls to check in on him. He was happy when we picked him up, and even had his toenails cut during his stay. Buddy will be happy to return the next time we travel!
Garnet the owner doesn't seem to have no compassion when you drop off the pets. She bad mouthed a vet saying she had dogs get kennel cough from the vet office. When she took us back to put the dogs in the cage she showed us how the door to outside worked she sent the dogs out and never said this is it. Never had a chance to say bye to the pets. Another person came back in after dropping off her dog off and asked if she could go say goodbye and was told sternly NO. My dog came home with kennel cough a week later. Only used this kennel cause of last minute changes and she is the only one who had available space. Hope I never HAVE to do it again
The owner Garnet is a very nice and professional woman. She is very knowledgeable about any and all of the animals that are boarded at her kennel ! Would recommend to anyone !!!
We have left Joey at Shoalwater at least 5 times since November 2014. He is well cared for. He is not distressed when we leave him and is always happy when we pick him up. Garnet and her staff do a great job.
Garnett does a wonderful job grooming my St.Bernard. Bella is deaf and i was just concerned about where to go for grooming. I couldnt be more happy with my choice. Garnett shows love and is very attentive to Bella. I will nevergo anywhere else.
First time we have kept our dog in a kennel. The kennel was very clean and then people cared about the dogs. There were quite a few dogs being kept there, all were healthy and happy.
I have used this kennel for years, it is always clean. The owner is a great dog lover and has always helped me with advice and service for my dog.
Left my dog, Shadow, with Bed & Board when we went to Fl; He came home happy & excited. Garnett and staff are wonderful!
I wouldn't leave my pet anywhere else..best care ever.
I took my two german shepherds, who are giant furballs, to be groomed. I was brushing them daily but they looked worse when I was done and I couldn't get all of their undercoat out. I took both of them to Country Liv'n Kennels and I am so pleased. It is clean, pleasant-smelling and bright. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Both dogs look 10 pounds thinner without the extra hair, and they're soft, sleek and beautiful. Joel was especially good. Both dogs are rescues and I wasn't sure how they would react. They were relaxed and happy and proudly showing off their new bandanas. I definitely plan to return.
Joel and his staff are the best! They are so kind and friendly, my anxious dog never has issues leaving me to stay with them. Fair pricing for boarding and grooming. They even gave Indiana Jones a bandana after his bath!
My family and I appreciate Joel and his staff. They always demonstrate excellent services, knowledge and professional demeanor with us at each of our grooming appointments for our poodles and they give extra care to all our dogs when we kennel them as well. I highly recommend Joel and his staff for grooming and kennel services!
After living in Pittsburgh with my shih poo, I never imagined finding such a great groomer AND kennel in this area. They are great! 🐩 🐾 ❤️ …
This was the first time our dog was ever boarded at a kennel. He is 13 years old. He was there for 15 days. We couldn't have been any happier with the care he received at Country Liv'n. I messaged them several times to check on him while we were gone and they always got back to me in a short period of time. We will definitely take him there again when needed.
Joel at Country Liv'n Kennels is wonderful. It's obvious he enjoys taking care of your pet, and he cares about their safety and comfort. I've been taking my fur babies there for nearly 20 years, and I'm always completely satisfied with their stay. Joel goes above and beyond when it comes to his furry guests!
The best groomer in town! I have two dogs and they are not easy to groom. I've been going for years now!
Really nice staff and great treatment of our dog. I was greeted promptly and my dog got in right away for his cleaning. I would definitely recommend Country Liv'n if you need grooming services. I did not get a chance to view the kennel area, but based on the appearance of the main building, I would image they are very nice as well.
Greatest place I have taken my dog for grooming she is so happy and looks great
Thank you for taking great care of my extremely nervous and difficult to groom golden! He is currently prancing around the yard as if he is best in show! He looks amazing and I can tell that he feels great! I'm glad we followed up on our vet office's recommendation to give you a try. Thank you!
By far the best boarding facility in the area. I grew up with dogs and now have my own, so we have tried out many facilities. Lucky Dog treats each dog as family. Having an anxious pup, I always worry about leaving even just for a night or two. With Lucky Dog, I was finally comfortable enough to leave my pup for a full week. That is huge for me!!!! They post DAILY PICTURES on facebook of all of the pups staying there so you get to see your pup every day you’re away. We have been using Lucky Dog for a little over a year and we will NEVER go back to anything else. Thank you guys for all you do for my Rosie girl! She really does love it here and it means the world to me to have somewhere I feel safe to leave her.
This is the best place for our fur kids! Acres of places to run and handlers who watch them and play as well. 2 ponds for the swimmers. There is plenty to explore with doggy fun stuff like old tires, picnic tables to climb, playgrounds and shady places to lay around. And can’t forget the holiday doggy parties with the works. And boarding kennels!! I call it ‘Paradise for Pups!!’
We have always had good experiences with Lucky Dog. They always take excellent care of our pup. The updates they have done to their facility look wonderful. Finn is always excited when we pull into the driveway and has a wonderful time when he is there. Because they have such a large outside play area for the dogs he always comes home very tired from all the playing he has dome while we are gone!
We loved lucky dog. Very professional and loved the fact that we could see pictures of our pups daily on Facebook.
My dogs love it here! Both the daycare and the boarding are always a huge success. I have a ton of trust that my dogs are being well looked after and given the best care. Also, don't forget to tell them if your pup has a birthday during their stay!
Lucky Dog is one of a kind. They treat your dog just like they are their own. I am so thankful for everything they have done for my pup and how attentive they are! I would not send my dog anywhere else. Their staff are trustworthy and kind and you can tell they love what they do.
We drive almost four hours to kennel our two dogs here. They love coming and they are always very well cared for. They are constantly improving the facilities and I highly recommend them!
Our dog Arnie loves his Wednesday’s at Lucky Dog. He gets so tired out, Sometimes I have to wake him up for dinner. The staff gives great feedback so you know your critter is doing well. A tired dog is a happy dog.
Super cool deal on Saturdays. A while golf park to walk your dog in from 11 to 3. 8 bucks is totally worth Todzilla's happiness.
My dogs love it there. They have lots of play time and plenty of space to run. The staff is always nice.
We attended Colin’s dog obedience school because we got a rescue pup with some major anxiety. What we expected would be an adventure packed with dog interactions and mostly our little pup learning how to do tricks, ended up being so much more. By the end, our anxious, shy little girl became a confident dog who was no longer afraid to go outside. She trusts us in ways we never thought possible. Our little pup has become a confident, self-assured explorer who is one of the most loving little dogs I’ve ever encountered. The lessons learned were not learned by the dog, but us the humans. We learned to hold our dog accountable, show her love in her way, and gain her trust. We completed the Freshman class on the date of this review, and couldn’t imagine where our precious little princess would be without the lessons Colin taught us over these past eight weeks. In the process, our sweet dog-child has grown to be happier than words can capture. Our dog’s anxiety had her struggle to walk from the parking lot into the building (we carried her in) and now she trots with pride on her way in to the building. In thinking of the progress our little girl made, I can’t help but be grateful for Mr. Colin’s patience and wisdom he bestowed upon us in our pretty girl’s profound growth as well as our growth as dog owners. I would recommend Colin to anyone with a rescue who needs guidance on how to change behaviors and overcome anxieties, because he has been the exclusive catalyst to our sweet dog’s immense life change.
My dog goes to Peninsula Pups both for daycare and for training. She absolutely loves it. The staff is so caring and is genuinely excited to see Olive when I drop her off in the morning. She comes home thoroughly tired after having fun all day. And she absolutely adores their trainer Colin. He is so knowledgeable and very patient with her. I'm very grateful to have found Peninsula Pups and I feel very confident knowing that my dog is in safe hands when she is with them.
I have been taking my dog there for about one year and it's been incredible. He has such a great time and the best part is he is exhausted when he comes home! I work full time and it is nice to know he is at a safe facility and having much needed exercise and companionship while I'm working. The staff is amazing and I would highly recommend Peninsula Pups!
Our little guy Harvey Dent loves seeing all of his friends at doggie daycare. Liz and her team do a wonderful job!
I happened to be picking up my pup from daycare the afternoon that the owner of Peninsula Pups, Liz, seemed to be dealing with a challenging phone call. I may have only heard one side of that conversation but I guarantee you that Liz handled herself very professionally, simply stating the facts as to why she could not accommodate the individual at that time. And in today's world, business owners do not do anything to turn away business unnecessarily, let alone risk having a poor review written unjustly. I was not surprised to see the very negative review posted by L. Cruz, but oh so disappointed. I have been a client at Peninsula Pups for almost 10 years. They are professional and treat the fur babies as family. My pup also was trained there as well, all highly recommended!
Sometimes you get to the park & there's no pups for your dog to play with. Sometimes there's a scuffle...which happens. At ppdd there's specialists & trained employees to help pups navigate their play & always someone there to play with. Instead of sitting home with nothing to do while you're at work, why not let the kids have some fun? This is a great, safe, supervised way for your dogs to have some fun. 💜💙 And the trainers make sure everyone is safe & happy. A great service in Erie!
Our dogs LOVE Peninsula Pups! The staff is wonderful, always wanting the best for every dog. It was such a relief to know our "kiddos" were in such good hands while we were at work. Thank you so much Peninsula Pups for all you do! We truly appreciate each and every one of you! :)
Our Golden Retriever Molly goes to daycare here twice a week and loves it. Liz, the owner is compassionate and truly loves each and every pup that walks through those doors. The staff is also fantastic-always sharing helpful and important information for the well being of the owners and their dogs.
I have been bringing my husky Malfoy here for 10 months. Liz and the gang are great! You can tell they truly take the time to make sure your dog is completely comfortable. I would recommend Peninsula Pups to anyone looking for a doggy daycare.
Taking our lab to Peninsula Pups was the best thing we could have done for him. He absolutely loves going there.
Absolutely love Barks N Bubbles. Krissy does a wonderful job and is great with our dachshund. Max loves his spa days.
Kristin did an excellent job on my 5 month old goldendoodles first ever haircut! We made a few requests and Kristin satisfied them perfectly. She also provided great knowledge on continuous care for our dog. If you want a good quality grooming, I recommend Barks N Bubbles. You will not be disappointed.
I took my very hairy and shaggy Standard Poodle to Krissy for his first proper groom since i got him 2.5 years ago. He was there for many hours, he looked to handsome when i picked him up. They did an incredible job!!! I mean... everything was perfect!!! Thanks
I randomly called them about my cat being defied because they came up on Google. She was an amazing and gave me 10 out of 10 advice on how to take care of my kitty love this place would send my pet.
Took my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever to see Krissy. She and her team did a great job on his bath, trim, and de-shedding. He looks amazing! Soooo fluffy!!!
We needed to find a new groomer and decided to try Barks N Bubbles. The place is beautiful! Super clean, bright and airy. The owner is really nice and was so great with our dog. He looked fantastic when I picked him up. Couldn’t be happier, great experience!
My naughty dogs were so well cared for. They came home squeaky clean with cute little ties on! My dogs are large and a handful so I know this is definitely the place for them! Professional, patient and caring of my fur babies. I couldnt ask for a better place!!!
It was my Standard Poodle pup first time for a professional haircut she did amazing. Izzy gave her a run for her money but she looked great thank you.
Krissy has been wonderful with our dogs, she works so well with them and takes time so that they are comfortable with her.
Krissy does an amazing job with my dog! We have tried many places but she’s definitely the best!
EDIT: I just want to point out that I legitimately ASKED the "customer service specialist" if she was able to pass a message along to the groomer for me about the cut I wanted. Since you've made it clearer to me than to your employee that that is unacceptable and not your policy, I NOW know her response SHOULD have been "no, unfortunately you will have to speak to the groomer yourself so the message is definitely passed along!" I did not insist that she take a message, nor did I just drop my message (and dogs) and run. I didn't make it seem like it was the only option either, as implied. She said "are we doing the same thing as usual or would you like to talk to the groomer" to which I replied "are you able to give a message to the groomer?" She said "yes, that's fine." Then I told her exactly what I wanted. In other words: I ASKED her if she could take the message back and SHE TOLD ME YES. This is in no way MY fault and was actually simply a breakdown in communication on your end. Pathetic recovery and pathetic customer service. The reason this remains public is because I am owed almost $150 for a truly awful experience - as Kara told me she would be refunding me the full amount. One way to keep the matter private is to actually resolve it, instead of blaming the customer for your own failings. As soon as I receive my money back, I will gladly modify my review to reflect that, as the issue will have been resolved by that point. But since that has yet to happen, I will be keeping my review up so that others are warned of an experience they very well could have here. If it happened to me, it can happen to others! Especially since clearly Kara is comfortable offering refunds but not giving them, as seen in other reviews. Also, I just want to say that at the end of the day, if the message was indeed relayed to the groomers as stated by the owner in their response to me, then this implies that the groomers they hired don't actually know what a "Traditional Schnauzers Cut" is and that's a whole other issue. But, not one that is the customer's fault, nor should have it ever been made to be the customer's fault. Yet, here we are! EDIT: Spoke to Kara on the phone to address the poor grooming her staff did on my dogs. Started out great but devolved into her telling me it was my own fault for her employee not relaying the proper cut to the groomer - I should've spoken to the groomers myself at the very beginning. If the associate had simply told me that she could not relay the message when I asked and I would need to speak to the groomer myself, I would've. Essentially Kara insisted that it's my own fault that the dogs weren't groomed correctly, I should've requested a manager at the time of pick up, etc. basically, it's my own fault this all turned out this way. She then requested that I take my review down "since [she] addressed it with [me] privately" but I will not be doing that. I think it's awfully shady to request that someone take a review down instead of RESOLVING it. Because I could've modified my review to be better once the situation was resolved. Don't take your dogs here unless you want to be disappointed and beyond frustrated with terrible service and grooming. Went completely down hill when Joyce retired. Kara told me she would be refunding me the whole amount so we'll see if that actually happens.
Leo always looks so handsome after his grooming appointment. He's usually a very aggressive with new people but he does so well with his groomer
Paws & Claws in Erie always treats my Sasha like she is their fur baby too. Katie and Ally have both done wonderful jobs grooming her and she always looks wonderful after. Play care, boarding, and grooming services are fairly priced and all the staff are amazing.
If you’re looking for the absolute best place to care for your high-energy pup, look no further than Paws and Claws PlayCare! From the moment we started, they made us feel completely at ease with their clear explanations of processes and routines. Their communication is fantastic—they’re always upfront about how your fur baby is doing, which is such a relief for any pet parent. We have an extremely hyper German Shepherd-Heeler mix, Copper, who has so much energy it was hard to keep up. Other daycares struggled with his energy, and we often felt like we were left in the dark. But Paws and Claws PlayCare has been a game changer. Copper absolutely loves going there—his excitement when we pull into the parking lot is the best part of my day! The staff are so sweet and genuinely happy to see him, greeting him with big smiles and so much love. It’s clear how much they adore him, and that makes me feel so reassured. Thanks to their incredible care, Copper now comes home tired and perfectly exercised. It’s a joy to see him thrive in such a loving, structured environment. One of the highlights for us is their daily Facebook updates, where they post pictures of the pups playing. Seeing Copper having fun with his new friends absolutely warms my heart every time. On top of that, their hours are incredibly accommodating for people with busy schedules, and their prices are beyond reasonable for the level of service and peace of mind they provide. I can finally say I have complete confidence in our daycare choice. Paws and Claws PlayCare isn’t just a daycare—they’re like a second family for Copper. Highly recommend!
We are going to call our dog a different name on here and call our dog Lucy *big dog*. They did something to my family’s dog {Lucy} and it’s not the first time that something happened. This is the second time something happened, we dropped Lucy off. {Lucy was so excited and knows that if she acts up that we would come and get her early} [keep in mind, Lucy doesn’t attack anyone/any dogs. Lucy is kind even when a dog attacks Lucy] Paws ‘n Claws staff claims that Lucy attacked humans and dogs in the few minutes she was there plus, called us to “inform” us that she {Lucy} “did” this. [But we don’t need to come and get Lucy] (My thought here: If a dog attacks humans and dogs, wouldn’t you want them to leave as soon as you can?) When we got there around 1 hour and few minutes after the call, we were told she “did” this and there was no doubt about it. Got told {MULTIPLE TIMES} that our BIG dog was with the SMALL dogs. (My thoughts: Aren’t the big dogs and small dogs in different areas in the back? Why is Lucy with small dogs? Do they not have staff that cares to separate the dogs by size?{Prevent a big dog hurting a small dog}) We were told that they not only didn’t look at the camera’s to see what happened but, they changed the story when confronted and that they trust their staff more than an owner that knows their dog. (Thoughts: Are the owners nothing to this company besides money bags?) When we asked to see the camera footage cause we want to know what led up to her “attacking” humans and dogs, we were told that they can’t show us cause of other dogs being there but, we never said anything about seeing the other dogs. We want to see if this actually happened or if they are lying about it all. {It seems fishy that they didn’t want her gone, didn’t want to watch the footage and not show us the footage but they “know for a fact” that it happened.} Honestly they handled the situation HORRIBLY and didn’t show us proof of the problem, by law they are supposed to show us if something happens with our dog.
Pretty over priced imo 25 dollars to trim one pups nails and it took less then 5 mins. What is that 500 an hour plus tips. Good work if you. An get it I guess.
Edited from no body text for owners response: I have 2 schnauzers named Beaux and Holly. My wife happened to be the person dropping off and paying for the visit prompting this review originally in early Novemberish 2024. My review was based on the absolutely horrific recovery from the first phone call we had based off my wife's review. Not on the cut recieved (albeit very frustrating to get 2 schnauzers shaved down without skirts). There was a breakdown in communication from the person staffing the front and the actual groomer themselves; however, even though my wife asked the front staff to convey our desires in the cut of our dogs, even though she was assured the information would be conveyed to the groomer, it did not happen. I am very understanding of mistakes and i would have not made my own review; however, my irritation lies with the Manager's insistence that my wife made an error by not insisting to the front of house staff that the groomer stop what they are doing and come to the front to receive instructions that were as simple as "traditional schnauzer cut". Instead of acknowledging that there was an error on the staff's part, somehow my wife got blamed for trusting a worker, a representative of the business, who clearly communicated to my wife that they would pass the information along. I want to add, I said this verbatim to the person I talked to phone just to make sure I was hearing this right. We then got asked to take our reviews down if we received a refund. I dont know who needs to tell you this, but it is a severe breach of business etiquette to ask customers to change an earned review based off of legitimate actions of representatives of a business. My wife has also still has not received a refund even though the person we talked to said we would. Long story short, My wife went into a business and even though she clearly communicated what she wanted, she did not get what she wanted based off an employee error. And the business outright refused to apologize or recover in an any appropriate way. I do not need, nor desire, a response. This was a simple mistake. Take the review and hopefully do better.
We had to cancel the reservation we had booked Cara the “manager” said she would either give us our money or put it as credit! Been two weeks and didn’t do nothing yet! Booked a hair cut and shampoo picked up our dog and her hair was NOT CUT and they didn’t rinse all the soap off. So I definitely don’t recommend this place at all! If I could rate zero stars I would this place is so terrible!
My dog loves this place, they do a great job of helping socialize dogs! We send him to daycare whenever we don’t have enough time to exercise him and we board here regularly. They always make sure to take great care of him, we are never worried leaving him in his doggie condo. They’ve been excellent about accommodating his need for a litter box when he stays overnight as well. We have also had him groomed here and very pleased with the results. Great place and great people! We especially love Nikki!
I took my cockapoo puppy to Play Care at Paws 'n Claws after she passed the Temperament test (required). She had a great time playing with the other dogs. It was a great opportunity for her to socialize. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The store has a variety of items for your dog. I felt the price was reasonable for a half day of fun and I had a chance to do some yard work.
This place took good care of my Saint Bernard, Adikus, he looked and smelt so good when I picked him up. And he was in good spirits like he had a good day hanging out with new friends
By far the best groomer around! We take 6 dogs and they are very accommodating. Prices are affordable, they carry great brands of dogfood, and the staff are helpful and friendly! Highly recommend!
I have an Old England Sheepdog and have been taking her in to get her nails cut. This was he her 3rd trip First off, she had a bowel movement which tells me she was scared and or startled. Secondly the person came out and said it too three of us to hold her down. Lastly, when I arrived at my house her back paw was slightly bleeding and I could not touch her back leg as she yelped and tried to bite me off. To top all of that 2 of the side nails weren't even touched?? 1. I called Proudland and spoke to the front desk and they said a groomer would call me back... (they did not do such) 2. If you have to use 3 people to hold down an animal then STOP and have the owner take her away, the trauma isn't worth it c'mon y'all use your head! What does your procedure say? 3. Follow through and call the customer back it's really not that hard. 4. The bad part is the first time she went there she had a perfect cut and no problems. Now, I wouldn't send my pet there ever again or would I recommend them to anyone very unprofessional.
They took wonderful care of our dog Max. He was so happy.
We have used Proudland for years, boarding both our dog and cat. They always do a good job caring for our animals. The dog groomer is also great.
The staff at Proud Land is very accommodating, and they genuinely care for your animal. We wouldn’t go anywhere else to have our dog groomed:-)
We were referred by a friend and we couldn't be more pleased! Excellent!! The cut is perfect, but more important our dog wasn't traumatized at all. She came home a happy pup. I highly recommend Proud Land. Much appreciation to all.
They always take great care of my pups here
They do an amazing job with my Akita. She looks absolutely perfect after her grooming appointment and at a great price! The best in town!
Very professional, clean facilities my dog was happy. Recommended to everyone.
Barkside bay has been such a blessing to us! We started when we had young puppy. They came twice a day for 15 minutes when she was still house training. Now we have them do 30 minute walks. It helps get some energy out of our young dog and gets her out during the work days. A bonus is the cute pictures I get every time they walk.
We can't recommend Barkside Bay enough! Our dog gets weekly walks, which he looks forward to so very much with his bestie, Cordelia. He has also stayed with Molly a handful of times and we can be away with peace of mind knowing that he is being well taken care and attended to. We are always sent picture updates too, which we love! We are so thankful for their services and know our dog is happy being apart of their Barkside family.
We’ve been working with Barkside Bay since October 2023 and we can’t say enough good things about Molly, Madi, and Alayna. Our girls LOVE the walks with their besties. Everyone at Barkside Bay gives us peace of mind knowing that our girls are loved and cared for when we’re away. Highly recommended!
Molly is one of the most reliable and responsible dog handlers that I have ever met. Her background and education as a dog trainer influences how she interacts with every animal she meets. Everything she does is structured, thoughtful, and truly has your pet’s best interest and safety in mind. You can expect detailed communication and adorable photos every time she visits. Barkside Bay is an amazing option for folks that don’t want to or can’t send their dog(s) to a daycare or boarding facility. They can be super stressful and are not a good idea for shy, selective, or reactive dogs. My dog Annie is overwhelmed when there are lots of dogs crowding her and barking. But Barkside Bay’s one on one approach is perfect for her. Annie absolutely loves spending time with her Aunt Molly and smiles the whole time, whether they are cuddling on the couch or going on an adventure. I would recommend Barkside Bay to anyone that is in need of dog sitting, drop in visits, excursions, walks, or training walks!
After one visit, my dog is already in love! I got home after the first time Molly from Barkside Bay checked in on my dog. He greeted me but then excitedly ran past me to the door to look out like he was expecting Molly to be back. It looks like he has a new BFF! The message I received about his visit was so cute as well. I love getting those updates on how it went and attached photos. Definitely a trustworthy and knowledgeable company!!
Barkley looks forwards to his walks with Molly! I love the feedback I get from her with each walk and especially the photos after! ❤️ 🐾 …
Barkside Bay is exceptionally dependable and professional! They take great care of our pets and we have used them for dog walks and drop-in visits while out of town. We highly recommend them to take great care of your furry family members!!
My pup loves Molly and Barkside Bay! The services available provide the needs/care we may not be able to fit into our day and it’s a relief knowing our fur baby is in GREAT hands…Moch’s gives Barkside Bay a 5 bark review!!!
Barkside Bay is phenomenal! Their team has taken care of our pets (2 dogs, 1 cat) for weeks on end during vacations and time out of town. Their prices are reasonable and the team is very communicative. We even get a few pictures of our animals when we’re away which makes it even more special (see one of these great pictures below). If you’re looking for competent, professional, and friendly pet services—check them out!
Barkside bay has been a game changer! My pups always have the best time during their visits. My favorite part is receiving their pictures after each visit. I never have to worry when I’m not home. They truly are the best!
Our shih tzu spent nine days here after reading plenty of positive reviews and hearing good things from friends. When I arrived to pick him up the owner told me he had been pooping a lot during his stay. I just assumed it was a nervous tummy and no big deal. When they brought him out he looked a little wet and I assumed he had been out playing in water because it was 90 degrees. I scooped him up and went out to allow the next guest in (only one dog is permitted in the office at a time, which I actually like.) Once I got outside in the sun I realized he had dried poop caked all over him. It was around his eyes and ears and caked on his butt so thick that it needed to be cut out with scissors when I got him home. He’s a fluffy guy, and I understand he’s more likely to get messy. But this was SEVERAL DAYS of poop. Had anyone spent any time with him at all during the week, someone would have noticed. The forms I signed clearly stated that any animal that gets dirty will be bathed, kennels are cleaned regularly, and no pets go home dirty. This is obviously separate from the optional grooming services they offer. His eyes were horribly crusted with boogers, his paws crusted with poop, his nose is scraped, and he has a fever. I called and spoke with Patty the owner on my way home who said they didn’t wash him because I opted out of grooming. That is absurd and neglectful. It was after I got him home and bathed that I realized he can barely walk from total lack of exercise (which confirms that he was not given any attention.) He is currently lying next to me trembling and whimpering. It is heartbreaking that a place would allow this to happen to a sweet little animal that they were trusted to care for. Horrible. Edited in response to the owner: Once the door was locked and I decided to just get in my car and take him home I called to complain. Patty said if I brought him back she would “hose him off.” I told her absolutely not. He was feverish, shaking, and needed a 30 minute warm bath with hair and poop cut off to be clean. The next day she called me again trying to defend herself. I told her unless she was calling to apologize and offer some sort of refund (it was never about the money) there was nothing to talk about. At no point did I ever mention my dog having anxiety or say I would take down my honest review. People need to know how their pets could be treated here. It’s dangerous for someone in this position to have no remorse.
The staff were absolutely wonderful and took great care of our girls! Thanks to Preston for the extra time he took with Luna Juliet and to Emma for always being pleasant on my daily phone calls. We will definitely be returning for another stay in the future! We HIGHLY recommend Paws and Claws resort to others!
WE LOVE PAWS and CLAWS! Sarah is the ONLY one that I trust to do my cat’s nails! She knows what she doing and even though my cat tater tot isn’t hers she treats be like she is her own! And the staff at paws and claws are fantastic! They treat all of their pets and clients like family. I will forever continue to take tater tot to see Sarah and the amazing staff at paws and claws!
Great place, my baby boy was there for 10 days and I could tell when I picked him up he was content and happy! I will definitely take him back when I go on vacation again! Great staff and the only place that can trim his nails!!
Love this place, best place that I have find in the erie area. My dog always comes home happy. Thank you for the wonderful care you give. You guys are the best..
My Doberman mix stayed here for 3.5 days. Was quick, easy, on my roadtrip route, and they were nice/pleasure to deal with. There is no dog-and-dog interaction (all well), but that makes it quick and easy for setup and drop off for the first time boarder. Thank you!
All 3 of my dogs hair cuts were Fabulous!! Totally worth the drive from Erie.Their pricing was fair.. but here's the BIG THING my dogs weren't all sketched out like they normally are when they get home. Will definitely be going again!!
I called for last minute appointment due to my work schedule, they fit me in almost immediately Very caring and professional! Sarah did a great job! Thank you so much! Some before and after pics for ya
I am so happy to have found P&C Girard! My husband and I were new to the area and we needed to find a new groomer and boarder- lucky for us they do both! I have boarded my giant schnauzer Baxter here many times in the last year and he loves it here. All of the staff are so friendly and accommodating all the time. I never have anxiety leaving my boy at P&C Girard because I know he is in amazing hands. Most recently I picked him up today after boarding for 3 days, and he looked amazing thanks to Sara, and was happy as can be. When I drop him off he just wants to go straight to the back. Truly I am so thankful to have found them. Also I love that it is a secluded, quiet, beautiful property, and large condos to accommodate your pup. As long as I’m in the area we will always be a continued client and supporter of P&C. Don’t know what I would do without them ☺️!
I started taking my golden retriever pup, Tilly, there for her nails. She wouldn’t let me even touch her feet, now Tilly loves going there! Today Tilly got groomed! Sarah, the groomer, did an amazing job. She did exactly what I wanted! Tilly is now a happy, clean puppy!!
Even though our dog couldn't be boarded here. Fred is an awesome person. His knowledge about animals is amazing. Wish our dog wasn't so cage aggressive, or we would be using Best Friends all the time.
Love Best Friends! Our dog is four years old and we only recently had to board her. Fred was so good with her and even had a pre-board meet and greet to be sure she was familiar with him and her temporary surroundings. He really knows his dogs and makes sure they are well looked after. We will definitely be coming here every time we need boarding. 😊
My Rottie Gunner was at Best Friends Pet Care for 9 days while we were out of town on vacation. Fred was very professional and our Dog took to him immediately. It’s a great place to have your pet be safely watched! Everything is very inviting and clean and his prices are phenomenal! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a place to board your pet. We will be using his services again absolutely!!
Fred has kept my dog, Winston, several times. His facility is well kept and welcoming. Fred is a definite pet lover. Winston doesn’t warm to strangers quickly and was a bit apprehensive at first but now does quite well with Fred. Fred is very accommodating and would be given a 10 star rating if possible. He doesn’t mind my calling to check on Winston. He is quick to respond if I leave a message. Fred is #1 in pet care.
Fred was kind and friendly. He took the time to go over the care he gives our dog. He has good prices for the services he provides. If you are in need of a board for your pet and want someone to take good care of them. This is a perfect place!
Fred is very attentive to our dog, Luna. She is always happy to stay at Best Friend Pet Center. She actually pulls to go inside. We are confident that she is safe and well cared for during her visits. We highly recommend Best Friends. We have learned some good tips from Fred for the care of Luna. His knowledge of dogs is superior!
My pup absolutely loved staying at Fred's for the weekend! He was such a pleasure to work with and loved our dog as his own! We'll be using his facility every time we go out of town. Thank you, Fred!
I have taken my dog, Faith, to Fred at Best Friends a few times now. I do not board her to often but am so glad to have found Best Friends. Fred is wonderful to work with, his place is very clean and he really seems to care for the animals. Faith comes home with no issues and seems happy:)
I had an extremely bizarre experience. I arrived 15 minutes early to drop off my four dogs to be boarded for a long weekend. My dogs had been there before and had a seemingly decent time except for when he "fasted" my two labs for 24 hours because he couldn't figure out which one had an accident. Really? Anyway, Fred seemed to care about the dogs so I brought them back. This time was quite different. Upon my early arrival he abruptly met me in the parking lot and insisted he couldn't take my dogs early because he was still registering other dogs...my parent's dogs. I explained that I had my four dogs in the car and my 9 month old baby and would appreciate if we could start unloading etc. He insisted that wouldn't work, raised his voice at me, and told me to come back15 minutes later. Needless to say I got back in the car, canceled my reservation and took my dogs to Paws N' Claws in Girard and they were cared for very well. Though he is taking care of dogs, I am a paying and customer service should be considered. I will not board my dogs there again.
This was the first time that we ever boarded Zona and I was very nervous. Fred made everything easier and was super organized with lots of good tips. I was impressed at how clean and quiet the kennels were. Zona had a good time and I would definitely recommend best friends pet care.
