We would highly recommend Linda’s dog boarding service. She’s lovely and is clearly experienced in managing dogs, caring about their needs and well-being. Belle stayed with one of Linda’s host families, and - from what we have seen from the many photos we received during her stay - appears to have had a whale of a time! It’s been really easy to communicate with Linda from the very first enquiry and the pick up/drop off service she offers is great.

I cannot recommend this company more highly. Their service has been faultless and our dog Gus absolutely loved going to stay with one of their amazing hosts, Gail. They really think of everything - from arranging a meeting before his stay, to talking through all his normal routines, to sending us photos and update during his stay. It was so reassuring to know he was happy and staying with people who geniunely love dogs and will give him lots of attention and cuddles! Linda will also pick up your dog from home and drop off at the end of their stay which was so convenient when you've been away. Thanks to Linda and her team for all their hard work - Gus can't wait for his next holiday at Gail's house!

We got in touch with Linda when we needed our dog walking. Well I can certainly say hat it was the best thing we did. Linda is amazing with our mischief. She's loves her walks with Linda and enjoys them immensely. She had also helped us to find a good boarder for our holiday in may. She's also put us in touch with a good behavioural lady who is going to work with mischief. So I would most definitely recommend Linda if you need your dog walking or anything extra. Linda certainly will bend over backwards to make your doggy feel safe and secure.

Linda has recently started walking Alfie for us whilst we are at work and I cannot fault the service at all. Linda is lovely and you can clearly see she loves working with dogs. We get regular updates and pictures of Alfie and know he is in good hands. We've come home to a clean, settled and sleepy pooch. Would highly recommend Linda to anyone needing a dog walker/sitter. AMAZING!! Linda and her lovely family took wonderful care of my dog, Frankie, over a long weekend. She sent lots of photos of him having lots of fun and cuddles. He came home safe, clean, happy and healthy. Highly recommend and Frankie will be coming again!

Jeff is back from his first stay with Paws Aboard and he's had such a great time. He's been very well looked after and given lots of love and care by Suzanne and her family. He's even made some new doggy mates. We loved getting pics of him having fun and it's so reassuring knowing he's in such good hands while we're away. Would highly recommend Paws Aboard to anyone looking for a home from home that you can trust will take excellent care of your pooch.

We used Scotson Fold to look after our 2 French bulldogs (Bert 3 & Ernie 7 months) when we went away. We viewed the kennels before we booked and they were very informative and friendly. They were there for 9 days and oh my god I’ve never felt so settled. I rang a couple hours after we dropped them off to see how they had settled and was told they were fine. I rang again a couple days later and they were so friendly and reassured me they were fine and everything was normal. The girls are so good with them, they are all so experienced especially with our eldest who was a bit stand offish at first but she was so good with him. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. They are in such good hands at scotson fold and I’d recommend to anyone! Thank you for letting us have a rest whilst you took care of our boys!

Rolo had a great time and well looked after by the team. It was his first stay here and glad to hear that he had settled in well. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again, thank you for taking care of him!

My daughter picked up our dog Billy on Tuesday morning, couldn't believe the condition he was in, full of faeces and urine and stunk to high heaven, it took four baths to get rid of the smell, he has also lost weight and still not fully recovered from what must have been a traumatic experience. We will not be using Scotson Fold ever again.

We’ve booked our dog Rosco in here several times in the past year or two - including for our wedding and honeymoon and he’s been well looked after including his daily medication being administered as requested. We get updates when requested and Rosco loves the staff

Don’t let the 4.9 stars make you turn a blind eye to the state my dog was in trusting to what I thought was the best rated place near me to come back to my dog red raw from being in is own wee and chained up in a kennel the whole time and when collecting he was in a stressed state don’t believe what you see online

The staff are so caring and understanding for dog . I wouldn't go anywhere else, I have been to alot of very expensive kennels and my dog has came back very nervous and anxious. These Kennels have been amazing.

We’ve been bringing Royston our English Springer Spaniel to Scotson Fold for the past 2 years since he was a pup, and wow, I have no worries about him there (and neither does he!) From the moment I drive up the lane, he’s excited, we go to see Jayen, he’s excited! Then he’s collected by one of the staff (by the way they are absolutely brilliant), Royston is so excited to see them he literally drags them off to his usual Executive Suite! 😂 He knows where he’s going every time. The staff are amazing, they seriously care about our pets, which is fundamental. Scotson Fold deserves an award 🏆

We've used Scotson Fold for 9 years and it's still the same staff members and they know Yosh well. He's a typical Akita, intelligent, stubborn and can be vocal but they know how to deal with him. I trust them completely and know that my baby boy is well looked after while we are away which provides me with some comfort. Yosh settles in to the routine there and although he sulks while we are away the staff still talk to him and engage with him on a regular basis. I don't trust people easily with my baby but I would definitely recommend Scotson Fold.

I can highly recommend Digs for dogs following our recent experience. Very professional and great communication both before and during our dogs stay. Meeting with Emma prior to our holiday in our home environment definitely helped to put both ourselves and our doggies at ease. When it came to pick up day our dog was more than happy to bid us goodbye and jumped in Emma's van with no hesitation. We had complete peace of mind the whole time we were away that our doggy was settled and happy as we were kept up to date with messages and pictures of one chilled out house guest. On our return from our break we were kept informed about expected drop off time and we could see immediately how well cared for and happy our doggy was when she was returned to our home. A fabulous experience from start to finish and I will most definitely be using Digs for dogs again when the opportunity arises.

Emma was able to help us last minute, and matched us with someone who could look after our dog Cleo while we went on holiday. Our dog was on a course of antibiotics and Emma updated us every day on her health and how she was doing. I would absolutely recommend this service, it is very professional and you have peace of mind knowing that Emma will communicate with you and the dog carer while you are away. Cleo was able to stay in someone's home and have individual attention the whole week.

I cannot fault Digs For Dogs Warrington ran by the lovely and amazing Emma. From the first phone call I was left feeling very reassured that this was the right place for my gorgeous boy Bailey. Emma was very professional, thorough, patient and very caring. Answering all my questions. When I met Emma to go over Baileys profile- she was just as lovely in person. The profiles of the hosts all looked lovely and they were very suitable. The first host due to mind Bailey for an introduction had an emergency, so Emma stepped in. Bailey was very happy and settled and very well cared for. I was exceptionally happy with the host Bailey stayed with when I went on holiday, I received daily photos and updates. Everything is carefully thought out and every detail taken into consideration. I have no hesitation in leaving my dog again, when I go away in June and have already booked again.

Fantastic service as an alternative to kennels. From start to finish the service provided by Emma and the host was top class. Emma did a detailed profile of my dog prior to his stay. Every aspect of his daily routine was asked about and taken into consideration, his likes and dislikes, sleeping arrangements, what treats he has and how he likes to travel etc. I was extremely anxious about leaving him with a stranger but full details and photographs of the host family where provided. The many updates and photographs provided showing him being spoiled rotten put my mind at ease. Emma was contactable at all times and very responsive. I wouldn't hesitate to use this service again and I am sure my dog wants me to book a long holiday so he can go back!

We are thrilled to have found such a brilliant place for our 4 years old cocker spaniel. She had never stayed with anyone apart from family but enjoyed her stay with a lovely caring dog lover. The service provided by Emma at Digs For Dogs is second to none. She takes the time in finding the right host family for boarding your dog & we received daily updates of our dogs stay. Very flexible with pick up & drop off times to suit our needs.

It was also obvious that our Dachsy was extremely well looked after by the host family who were matched to him. He came back as bright as a button - obviously very happy; completely different from the time we put him in a kennel. Would I use this service again? Andrea from Digs for Dogs looked after our Chocolate Labrador named Annie for a weekend at their home. Annie was caringly lavished with attention, she truly enjoyed the experience. We received regular picture updates and videos of her enjoying the garden . I have had a previous bad experience of boarding kennels, but felt at ease with Andrea following their pet induction service. I very highly recommend their caring service to other dog owners, thank you Andrea.

Extremely grateful to Emma and her family for taking such good care of our Bulldog Herbert who is our Fur baby. Herbert is a pampered pooch and needs lots of TLC. Emma and her family went above and beyond to ensure his needs were met. It’s the first time we have been away and come back to Herbert being in such good health, clean and happy, usually it’s a trip to the Vets and hundreds of pounds in vet bills. Emma Kept us updated and sent us pictures of him several times a day which kept us very much at ease. It was nice being able to go away and not worrying about Herbert. We would highly recommend Emma (Digs For Dogs) and we have most definitely found his forever holiday home.

Joyce is a truly credit to herself. She was amazing taking care of my 3 year old Pomeranian. Being slightly overweight, she got him to tone up by taking him for really beautiful scenic walks. All dogs who boarded with her were extremely well behaved, which was one of my concerns. Highly recommended.

Milo my Springer Spaniel stayed for 3 nights. He's a very excitable dog but Joyce knew exactly how to handle him and made good friends with Harvey, another Spaniel. Would definitely recommend. Extremely friendly, patient and professional. 5/5

Just picked up our Ragdoll cat, Left him here for a week and the guy that worked there said to us that he hasn't been out of his cat carrier that he was taken in, he has been using his cat carrier as a toilet which he has never done before, when we got him back he was crying the whole journey home, they also said that he hadn't been eating however, as soon as we put food in-front of him he went straight to it, all of his fur was covered in wee which shows that he has been sleeping in his cat carrier in all of his mess which again he has never done before, we had left him there as we are support workers who support a vulnerable adult so on collection my colleague had asked to see the area that he had been staying in as this was all out of character and he refused to let us through to have a look and become quite defensive. As a cattery we thought he would be quite open to let us have a look but that was not the case. Would not be letting him stay there again. Do not recommend for cats

Let me say my experience is much like many people's here. I was dropping my dog off on 11th October for a 9 day stay. I got to the kennels and rang the number on the gate and said I had arrived. The lad on the phone said 'oh I completely forgot to tell you our license has expired and we can't take him'. This was about 10 hours before I was due to fly out on holiday. He asked if I could arrange for my dog to be looked after for the weekend and he would ring me to let me know what the verdict with the license was on the monday and would pick him up from wherever he was that day. He even said if the license didn't come through he would find someone to look after him for us. Which surprised me as I had paid for them to look after him already. To be clear I had paid 112.50 which was 50% of the stay. I managed to get a parent to look after him for 1 night and then they had to make other arrangements at extra cost last minute. Evrytime I had used these kennels previously the dog had always come back smelling and needed a wash. I'm seething to say the least about this whole situation. I also found out after this that the license hadn't expired but had been suspended. I hope these people never get to run a kennels again they're obviously not fit to own and operate one. They're fraudulent liars who have clearly stolen money from various clients and not returned it. Fraudulent and deceiving comes to mind. If anyone is interested in the small claims court route please add me on Facebook and we can talk. I'm disgusted I have to give them 1 star. 0 would be better.

They cancelled the day I was due to drop off my dog and said the license has expired which has caused a headache for me trying to find somewhere for my dog at such short notice. Was then informed they were unable to refund the money I have paid until they get the licence renewed. I appreciate it is regulation and out of the kennels hands, but surely you should be aware of when your licence would expire and should make arrangements for it to be renewed before then.... *I will update the review when/if i receive my refund*

We have boarded our 5 year old Hungarian rescue dog ‘Ronnie ‘ at Barkingham Kennels quite a number of times over the last few years and he loves it. It’s good to know your pet is being looked after by true animal lovers like Josh and the staff.

Turned up at the kennels on 21st September to drop my dog off. No one there. Had to ring Josh multiple times til he answered. Lied on the phone said his license had ran out, later found out it was actually SUSPENDED on the 19th July. No notice he couldnt look after my dog by the way! He took my deposit on the 25th so he took my money AFTER his licence was suspended. Actually told me when I initially rang on the 17th July that they weren't carrying on with the business then got back intouch with me on the 25th asking if I still needed the dates. Looking back at the whole situation, a small child could figure out what's gone on here. He's obviously decided to lie and deceive people out of their money with no intention of caring for their dogs. Not been able to get in touch with him for 2 weeks apart from a message he sent last night saying he can't give people their money back until the business is back open again. (Basically if the business doesn't reopen you're not getting it are you) I don't beleive for one second he has intentions to reopen the business. Just lie after lie! Small claims court it is.

Our story is the same as others on here. Got half way to dropping our dog off (I had text to say I was setting off and asked if they wanted cash or card payment) for an 8 day stay and got a call to say they could not take her. Total disaster as we were being picked up to go to the airport within 2 h.5 hours! They could have told us way in advance but the truth is they had no intention! Was told a load of rubbish about the return of deposit (£110)- apparently couldn’t refund this until they’d heard from the coucil or got in touch with their insurance. Didn’t respond to messages or calls following this! Absolute scammers. I am unsure how to get in touch with the previous poster re small claims court.

Been trying to get in touch with Josh since last Thursday (22nd August) and left numerous messages and voicemails but had no replies, it was only through reading the latest reviews yesterday that I became aware of what's happened. Eventually, Josh answered my call yesterday and told me his licence had expired and that he would have got around to phoning me I can't have my deposit back until the 14th of September I won't hold my breath on this happening paid my deposit straightaway but not refunded straightaway. Who lets a document expire when it's essential to their business? As another review states the Bolton Council website says the licence is suspended, whichever one is true I can assure you Josh, Barkingham Kennels will not get any future custom or recommendation from me, I am struggling to get my dog into kennels at such short notice. Thanks for nothing Josh.

Pls don’t leave your dog in this horrible place we tryed to organise a meet and greet for weeks but the guy was so blasé and did not care so we went there the day before we went on holiday and there was loud music and dogs were howling. (The guy didn’t even answer any of our calls for nearly a week). But as we had no other choice we left her there(the biggest mistake). We went back the next day to pick her up as we had a bad feeling. We got there and she was shaking like mad and smelt horrible (she had obviously been laying in pee and poo all night). They also told us they lost her food so she wasn’t fed that day and they lost her halter and favourite toy.when we got back we bathed her and as soon as she lay down she fell straight asleep so she had Obviously been been awake all night. Anyway I was stroking her a few days later and found a lump we went to the vets panicking and he said it was a bruise under the skin so she was either hit or nipped by another dog (not in our supervision). I would not even give this place 1 star but I had to, to wright this review. Pls save your money and do NOT send your dog here pls save your furry friend from suffering imagine if I left my dog any longer than 1 day. + we didn’t even get a refund as we paid for the week but she only stayed 1 day.

My American bulldog Pixie has been to Josh & Stuart every year. This year we had another American Bulldog Buster & he joined Pixie on her 12 day stay. They kept me up to date with everything, Pixie is scared of strangers but remembered them both straight away. Amazing environment & I will always send my fur babies to them both. Cannot fault them both for anything. Amazing place & even better people

IF ANYONE WANTS TO CONTACT ME LOOK ME UP ON FB GILLIAN BIRKETT First time using this kennels. Disaster. Trying to get them to reply to texts when I was booking was a nightmare but phoned the same number and answered straight away. Booked my whippet in for a week. On the day I text to say I was on my way. Half way there I got a call to say couldn't take my dog so the the licence expired, what kind of business let's the licence expired! After further investigation it says SUSPENDED not expired. Suspended for what? Also on Instagram says 5* yet Bolton council have as 3*. I had 3 hours to try and round up family members to work something out for my dog the stress was awful. I'm still £90 down and is anyone else is the same get in touch, I'll be taking them to the small claims court.

5* Service my cats are always well cared for and you can tell the team all love the animals like their own. Lots of enrichment and great pens. Would 100% recommend

Can't recommend this place enough and wouldn't leave my furbabies anywhere else. They treat my 2 dogs like their own and are on the doorstep of some lovely peaceful walks that suit both of my dogs' needs. Sonia is amazing at her job. She treats the animals as if they're her own. I struggle for pet Sitters with having 6 pets to look after but nothing is too much trouble for her. One of my dogs is really nervous and can be aggressive due to this but Sonia was amazing with her. Wouldn't use anyone else.

Sonia looked after my baby boy Ace and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to of looked after him. Having pictures and videos keeping me updated on how he’s spent his hours walking and chilling with Sonia! Such a relief knowing he was in such safe and caring hands! Will definitely be using Sonia again!

Precious Pals walked my dog Lenny up until we sadly lost him. Both Sally and Vanessa took him out daily whilst I was at work. The service they provided me over the years was outstanding. I know Lenny enjoyed going out with both of them and he was always settled and dried off when I got home. Due to their workload at the time, they were unable to take on my new dog. However, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Precious Pals if you are looking for a professional dog walking service.

Benny is my second fur baby I have whole heartedly trusted Vanessa with. She is playful and attentive with him and goes that extra mile if he’s a bit under the weather. She does the best she can to fit around your routine and is there rain or shine. Benny adores her and is very vocal when he see’s her. I wouldn’t want anyone else taking him out.

I am very protective over my furry daughter who happens to be a beagle. Precious Pals have been my dog walkers for over 6 years. Walking my Amber 5 days a week while we are at work during the day. They are greeted with as much excitement as her parents are, and that to me is all the assurance I need that they are the right people to be her Aunties for an hour a day! 😃

Vanessa is amazing with our puppy honey, she treats her like her own pet and honey loves going out for walks and bosrding when we need her too. I 100% trust honey with Vanessa and her partner and know I don't have to worry if I'm away or whilst I'm at work, she regularly updates me with texts and photos of honey having an amazing time with them. I would highly recommend her and I already have done.

Vanessa has looked after my 3 cats on several occasions. I am glad I found her as I can have holidays and breaks away knowing my babies are being looked after well. They love her she is marvellous with them. Nothing is too much trouble for her. Vanessa is trustworthy and assertive and has a lovely friendly personality. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Vanessa took Marley, our cocker spaniel out, while we were on holiday in Spain, and the kids were out at work all day. She goes beyond the call of duty, coming to meet and get to know the dogs before her services are started. She even sent us photographs and videos daily so that we could see that Marley was enjoying himself, and in good hands. Marley doesn't like road walks, and Vanessa was more than happy to take him to the local woods / fields and let him run round off the lead. Thanks a million
