Kendra was a great cat sitter to Genepi and she truly is a cat whisperer. Genepi usually takes 4 days to make friends with a new person but she came out and made friends with Kendra Day 1! Kendra regularly sent wonderful videos and pics of Genepi purring happily. The apartment was neat when we returned and our garden was blossoming. Would absolutely ask Kendra to sit again and highly recommend her. Thanks Kendra!!
I am struggling with naming our top adjective to describe Michael and Jeanne. "Conscientious" will likely be it but then again, "personable," "reliable," "organised," and "animal-loving" are top contenders. If you are reading this review and contemplating inviting this couple to watch your pets, then look no further. We have had a number of excellent house sitters but this pair was next level in terms of the love they showed our cats, Maxx and Nala. When we came back, we could our animals already missed them. These cats, who have never slept with anyone other than us, were getting in bed with them each night -- and that meant climbing stairs! The day before our trip, Nala got an ear infection and had to be put on steroids for asthma. Michael and Jeanne did not sign up for that when the sit was booked but they took it in stride. In the last-minute rush, I relayed that Nala needed her oral steroids morning and night. Michael read the RX label, indicating one dose a day, and contacted the vet to clarify. So you can see why "conscientious" is right up there. They saved Nala from an overdose! We were gone three weeks and they sent us just the right amount of pictures and videos. They bought cat toys (I forgot to put ours out!) and actively engaged with them, including 20-minute massages for Maxx. I truly believed them when they said they fell in love with our fur babies. The house was spotless (which was not important to me but truly appreciated) but I smiled when all six water stations in our yard were filled. They took seriously my love for and the needs of the wildlife in our yard. Our plants were all in good condition as well. Sensing they were "next level" when I met them, I predicted they would want to leave a meal for us upon our return. I asked them not to but they found another way to bow out with class. They made a donation to a nonprofit I work with instead. This I learned from the lovely thank you note they left. I hope they will consider Charles and I friends because we certainly feel that way about them now. What special people. If you book them, treat them well because they are going to do that for you for sure.
I was fortunate to have Hillary return for a second sit. She took excellent care of both my cat and my home. She got on well with my neighbors and even allowed my friend to come visit Suley while she was there. I especially appreciate how flexible and accommodating she was regarding arrangements for a sitter who would be taking over for the second part of my very long absence. All in all, Hillary is a gem!
Marianna was an incredible house sitter and cat sitter. She gave our property and sweet kitty top notch care. She is kind, easy to communicate with, thorough, etc. Would highly recommend her, you will not be disappointed.
Nathalie and John were great! They were great house sitters to watch our two dogs, 2 geckos, our old cat and bull frog. Their two girls took good care of the animals as well. The house was exactly how we left it. We really appreciated their help!
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Hannah and Joseph were brilliant sitters - totally reliable and trustworthy. Quick to respond to queries and their past experience with dog/ housesitting was very apparent. Our 2 dogs and 1 cat were well looked after and the house was spotless on our return. We are totally happy to recommend them.
Elyse was one of the best pet sitters we've ever met! Couldn't recommend her more. We hope she stays at our place again. She sent many pictures of our beloved cats throughout our absence. We returned to our cats seeming relaxed and happy as ever. She also left our apartment sparkling clean. 10/10 :)
Heidi was an outstanding cat sitter for my Luna! She was very communicable via calls or texts. She followed all my guidelines for feeding and care of Luna. Luna was very content when I arrived home thanks to Heidi! My home was immaculate when I arrived and she did some snow shoveling. She even pulled a large broken tree branch off my roof following a windstorm. I hope Heidi is available for my next trip because she is awesome. Jim
Karen was an extraordinary house and pet sitter who I hope to invite back again soon. You would be extremely fortunate to have her take care of your pets and home. From the very beginning she radiated calmness, knowledge, caring and curiosity. We had a great initial conversation where Karen answered questions I didn't even know I should be asking, and asked excellent questions so she could be prepared and understand the special needs for both my cat and home. She flew into my city the day before I was leaving and stayed at a nearby hostel so that we could meet in person and do a walk through of my home. They say pets have an intuitive nature about people, and I knew Karen would be a winner when my normally very shy/nervous cat came right up and let her pet him. Karen sent wonderful pictures and updates while I was gone and asked questions when she wasn't sure about something. When I returned home everything was spotless and my cat was content. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better house sitter experience. Thank you Karen!
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least 20$ per visit, $20/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Had to get my house tented for termites and this option would be the least stressful option for both me and my furry best friend. Only downside.. I think I'll have to buy a kitty condo house for home bc my cat looked so happy and comfy in it when I came to pick him up this morning 🤣 …
We knew our doggo was in right place for daycare as soon as we met Elle & Emily. Extremely nice people who love dogs. It showed all over their faces & our baby had a very good time!
This was Poi's first time at a pet resort. He got to stay there when we were in keys because of separation anxiety. When we picked him up he was happy and calm. The prices were fair...the people were super nice. They paid attention to his diets and meds. I would definately use them again!! A note pay attention to there drop off and puck up times!
5 Star+ Kudos to Abigail & Stitch! Excellent staff! Their facility is clean, spacious, professional and was simply a fun place for our dog to hang out! Rachel and staff were patient in working with us on boarding dates as we traveled from out of town. We had full confidence in their capabilities of taking care of our dog which allowed us to have a wonderful vacation in Key West!
I've used both doggie daycare and overnight boarding services. Staff is very friendly and caring. Very clean facility. They even sent me cute pictures of my pup during her stay with them.
I was so disappointed to leave this review. After making the reservation for my three dogs, I read some unpleasant reviews on other social media of this boarding facility. I did a random drop in visit to check it out for myself, and make sure they had everything they needed as far as vaccines for my dogs. My first visit the lady working was sitting at a table on her phone. I asked if I could see the room where my dogs would be staying, and she told me she wasn’t really supposed to let me back there but open the door anyway. I saw kennels with dogs that had no water in their bowls. The area where the dogs are kept was very warm as well at only 9 AM in the morning. So I know that the room gets hotter throughout the day. She pulled out my paperwork and told me the vaccines that were required. So I thanked her and went about my day. A week later, because I was still uncertain if I would end up leaving my dogs there due to the bad reviews, I did another random stop-in visit. When I asked to cancel my reservation, they didn’t even have my paperwork. They said they had no record of my reservation. I know they did because the lady pulled out my paperwork the week prior when I stopped in to visit. This place is just not professional and the quality of care is not there. I was willing to spend almost $1800 to board my three dogs for 10 days. I will never use this boarding facility And if I could give zero stars I would. Stay away from this place. I will be calling the owner Dr. Lisa on Monday as well because she may not be aware of what’s going on at her facility.
Would never leave my pups there again. First red flag was I got there just before 8am to pick up and they were so flabbergasted because they said they had just got there and they hadn't let the dogs out to potty yet and asked me to wait so they could go potty. Why weren't they let out yet by 8am? The "tech" lady was so rude to me. I was assured multiple times I could bring my own food, treats, toys, blankies etc for a 4 night stay for my two Goldens. When I went to pick them up their stuff hadn't even been touched. Blankets still rolled and packed exactly as I packed them, treats sealed and unopened. They spent 4 days without their treats, comfort toys, chew toys, blankets, or even FOOD. Their food hadn't been touched and someone even tried to justify that they wouldn't eat and that they had to sprinkle their treats in their food to tempt them. Funny, since their treat bag was still sealed. When I asked why their treats were sealed and weren't given to them the "tech" said they gave them their own treats, Milkbones, and was that Ok? I said no, my older dog doesn't like and won't eat milkbones, and I brought their treats because that's the treats I wanted them to have. She rolled her eyes at me and said, "well, I wasn't here when they were dropped off so I'm not responsible for any of these instructions." She offered no apology or explanation, just kept giving me attitude like I had no right to be upset. Same eye roll and attitude when i asked why they weren't goven their blankets or chew toys. I'm confused what she thought the bag labeled with their names and filled with toys and treats and blankets and food was for, if not for my dogs??? I got my dogs home and one drank water for about 5 minutes straight, not an exaggeration. The other about tripped over herself running a beeline to their food bowl and started gulping it down like she hadnt seen food in days. I'll be honest, I don't think my dogs were properly cared for. I think they were downright neglected. I was also refused access to their housing area, stating it was some protocol. I would put money that they had no food or water the way my dogs gorged when we got home. I called to speak to the owner, a vet of all things, at All Animal Clinic. I was told she's not available for at least a week. I said that was unacceptable, explained the situation, and was told by the manager of the vet side that she would reach out to the vet owner personally and call me back. No call back. Since they don't seem to take possible animal neglect as a serious matter, I decided to go to the public to warn other pet parents against this place. That "tech" needs to be fired and has no business being in charge of living things that have no voice for themselves. And to make it worse, my younger dog has been flinching everytime I raise my had to pat her today, and I'm worried what that may imply. Never again would I trust my sweet pups to this place!
Disappointing experience! Will start with the mandated fecal exam. Be forewarned they don’t accept a yearly fecal exam with proof of monthly medication. Their associated “vet” charged $75 for testing my two dogs so they could be boarded. Once there, we were told we had to provide an emergency number for someone who could pick up the dogs if we would not be able to immediately pick them up if called to do so 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️. We were boarding them because we weren’t available. We were going to be on a boat for the day. Ended up just giving them a number. My dogs have been boarded many times without problems. I brought them a couple of quick to eat bones for each of them for each day and a couple of low value plastic bones that do like to chew on during the day. They do best when they have something to chew on when bored. When we returned, our younger pup was clearly anxious when I saw her. They returned all the quick to eat chew bones I had sent with them and found out they had withheld the chew bone toys, as well ??? No explanation given. She reported they had done good and didn’t seem anxious. As I was about to leave, she told me my younger pup had broken one of her teeth. Her canine tooth was broken to her gum line?? I can only imagine the poor girl chewing on the metal gate without the toys/chews that I had specifically brought in for them. Not a good experience to say the least.
They won’t take my 9month old puppy just cause she isn’t fixed yet. She’s not even in heat at all and needed to be boarded for just two nights!! With such limited dog boarding in the keys, that’s just ridiculous. Never heard of such a thing.
When planning our trip to Key West I contacted Abigail and Stitch about our 11 year old Shorkie boarding with them during our stay. In the conversation I made sure to explain that Abbie has never boarded before. They assured me that they had boarded several pets like Abbie that had not been boarded before and they knew how to take care of them. We dropped Abbie off and the next afternoon I received a call from Abigail and Stitch informing me that I needed to come and pick her up. The employee told me that Abbie had tried to bite two employees and her anxiety level was such that they weren’t able to get her out of her suite to go outside. Abbie has never attempted to bite anyone nor has she acted aggressively but I understand that she could behave differently given she was in an unfamiliar setting. The staff wasn’t willing to work towards any solution to remedy the situation We now were in a situation where we needed to find another boarding possibility as our accommodations didn’t allow pets or end our vacation. Luckily Keys Animal Care Center went out of their way to accommodate Abbie. Each time I called to check on her they said she was exhibiting no signs of anxiety and hadn’t acted aggressively nor had she attempted to bite anyone. If you are thinking about using Abigail and Stitch for your vacation needs I would urge you to reconsider. I am very grateful for the Keys Animal Care Center and their staff for caring for Abbie.
Bryan is, without a doubt, the best option in Key West. He helped us at the last minute, was kind and professional, and our pup fell in love with him! Bryan sent photos and updates for the entire 24-hour stay, allowing us to have a wonderful time away.
We were staying on vacation in Key West and decided to take a day trip to the Dry Tortugas. So we needed a pet sitter for that day and through a google search contacted Brian at Wagnificent Pet Sitting. He answered promptly, set a time to come and meet Ace our English Labrador and we went over all the care details. We immediately felt very comfortable with Brian and so did Ace. The next day we left for our trip with no worries about our boy being in good hands. We were very confident with Brian especially since we would have no cell service all day. Brian sent us a text and photo of Ace during his visit which we received when we got back. Ace was happy as a clam and well taken care of. We highly recommend using Wagnificent Pet Sitting when you’re in Key West !! Ace says 4 paws up!🐾🐾🐾🐾 Thank you again Brian! 😄
Brian was a life saver. I needed someone very last minute to watch my little Pom while I went out snorkeling for the day. I do not trust anyone with my little girl but I will absolutely use Brian. He was easy to work with and very caring. THANK YOU AGAIN BRIAN!!!
Bryan was super helpful and so willing to care for our elderly special needs beagle. There was a mixup for our ferry reservations so we are still not sure if we will be able to use his pet care services but he couldn’t have been more helpful!! A very nice guy!
We came to Key West for the day and wanted to take a snorkel trip. Bryan was our savior. He sent us pictures that made us feel comfortable that CoCo was happy and cared for. He was super responsive and we will definitely use him next time we are in Key West.
Bryan took care of our pup today who walked out a happy boy. You can tell when your best friend has had a good day and Jumper obviously did. Also loved the pics; they tell it all!
Bryan really hooked me up, I called at 10 pm the night before his service as me and some coworkers had a spontaneous boating experience. He took my 10 week old black lab Stella in no problem for 6 hours and she seemed to have a great time! Bryan sent me pictures throughout the day to put me at ease , and in result helped me to have a great time. To top it off he kept her entertained so she would sleep on our journey back home. Couldn't have had a better price, process and experience!
Bryan took such great care of our pup! We received text updates with photos so we knew Chopper was doing great which made our time in Key West worry-free. It was obvious Chopper was well taken care of and made a friend in Bryan. Bryan is friendly, prompt and professional and I will definitely book Bryan again.
Bryan provided professional, courteous , and extremely friendly service. I felt quite comfortable leaving my two dogs with him. He even kept us up-to-date with text about the dogs behavior. I would not hesitate going to Bryan again.
Bryan is a pleasure to work with, he is polite and punctual. He was so sweet to our 15 year old schnauzer, he knew when she wanted to walk the neighbourhood, or just meander around and sniff some bushes. We will use Bryan any time we are in Key West, in fact we wish he would move to Toronto as Zulu misses him ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The best pet sitter ever! Mirka loves and cares for all her clients as if they were her own dogs. One of my dogs is afraid of all people but not Mirka — she’s the only person I trust when I need someone to care for my dogs. She provides play, down time, good structure, and human and dog time. I’m jealous my Velcro dog doesn’t even glance back at me when I drop her off since she’s so happy to be at Pawadise 😄
Mirka, the owner, is extremely thorough, kind, and absolutely amazing with dogs. We are so lucky to have found her! Our dog Miley had a hard start in life being a rescue and Mirka was so patient with her. I cant Recommend her and her business enough!
Phone number has a VM to "text" for a reply and then NO REPLY after texting. I don't know about you, but we need someone responsible as our dog is a very important part of our family. That's too bad as there aren't many other choices in the area. What happened to common courtesy? Especially as a "business owner". Bad business and frustrating.
We were traveling in the Keys and needed a sitter for our dog while we took a trip to Dry Tortugas. I googled pet sitters and Pawadise piped up with a 5 star rating. They are friendly and truly love dogs. Our dog loved his experience and wanted to stay longer which is very rare for him. I would highly recommend this business and will use them again in future visits to Key West!
Mirka is amazing!!! She watched my baby (dog) while my family and I went diving, then again on super short notice the next day! At first I was a little worried because she didn’t have a shop, but her yard had a trampoline, pool, fence and was such a great little area for doggies! She sent me photos of all the doggies playing and having fun- Mirka is awesome!!! I’m so happy I found someone that could take care of Bear (my animal) on such short notice!! Mirka helped socialized my dog by getting her to play and swim with the other puppies!! IF THERE WERE TEN STARS, SHE WOULD GET THEM!!:)
Visiting Key West for vacation and needed a doggy daycare. Dropped my baby off for the day and she was so happy when we picked her up. Very sweet, took adorable pictures. Recommend.
Needed a place to leave my dog for a few nights, she responded quickly and efficiently! Will definitely use next time I’m in town!
Have not been impressed over the last couple of years with the selection compared to other stores I used to shop at in other areas.
Resonable rates and Polor dog was worn out frim all the play!
The best!
Convenient, affordable, and great care. We were visiting Key West and had a medical issue with our dog. Could not have been more pleased with the service from Dr. Berdugo. The price was also very reasonable.
Used Dr. Berdugo for acupuncture on older dog. She was always on time and gave our dog wonderful treatment that really helped. Would use her again and again.
Been going there for years and my furbabies love it Dr. Berdugo is the best.
They don't reply to emails. Have not used them.
Very happy
Very nice staff. Alison is a very kind pet sitter. Large place might can sleep on property but call first. She even cared for my pet dog. Love it!
Alison is very flexible and has good communication skills. She took care of our 2 dogs in her home so we could spend the day going to the Dry Tortugas. I felt that my dogs were in good hands. I highly recommend her services and would not hesitate to use her for doggie petsitting again.
Alison took my pup in on fairly short notice. She was warm, flexible & communicative. Her facility was safe & comfortable. Radar was clearly in good hands for his stay. I would not hesitate to use her services again. -WW
Excellent place to take your dog. She is wonderful with them. Would definitely use her again if I'm in the area
Super nice, took good care of our little one for a Tortugas Day Trip!
Megan has been absolutely wonderful with our dog everytime we have had to go out of town. He loves her and her two kids and it lessens his anxiety so much to be able to be with a family verses kenned at our vet. She is so sweet to and texted us pictures while we were away of buddy having a great time! Such a peace of mind for this doggie mama who hates to leave her baby behind when I travel just knowing he is being loved on and in a family environment while I’m gone!!! 5 stars (would give 10 if that was an option!) 100% choose Megan to watch your pet!!!
Megan was awesome! I was down visiting, and last minute, on fathers day, my partner and I wanted to stay I little later and go out on the jetskiis. Unfortunately, I can't bring my dog on the jetskiii She answered right away and was knowledgeable about dogs, training, and behavior. She carries insurances and has you sign a vet release just incase something happens. She has a fenced in yard and a large dog who is other dog friendly. My kid got along fine with him. Will definitely be keeping her in mind when visiting next time
