Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
After seeing the numerous positive reviews, I knew Cung would be an easygoing and professional cat sitter and house guest, and he was :-) Easy communication, prompt updates and clear concern for Boz & Artie's wellbeing, and pictures of cozying up on the couch together all made our time away secure and stress free. Upon returning home, the cats were chill and the apt was left spotless, as though he hadn't even been there.
We literally cannot say enough positive things about Susan and Miranda! They are the best! From start to finish, they did an amazing job communicating with us, giving our 3 (somewhat needy) cats extremely high quality care and tons of attention, and keeping our house clean and plants watered. They took adorable pictures of the cats and sent them to us several times a day, played with them and gave them so much love and affection, and when we got home the house was even cleaner than when we left. We even asked them for some tips on how they were caring for the cats because our cats seemed happier and more relaxed than ever when we returned home to them! This was by far our best cat/house sitter experience to date. We hope Susan and Miranda are available again in the future to sit for us and would invite them back without hesitation.
Wow, what a find Justin is! I feel as though I won a lottery. As I was revelling in the communication we were having during his stay, I looked over his profile and realized either that he had updated it during his stay OR I never even read it. I was so impressed with his initial application that described multiple stays taking care of cats in Turkey that I knew he was going to be a great choice. So I'm not sure that I even read his profile or reviews. Turned out...he was more than I could have EVER hoped for. Justin is VERY organized and clear with his communication. Just as--or maybe more--important, he is a poster child for what zeewoi can be: more than just an economical way to get a pet sitter or a place to stay. Justin embraces the barter economy and the opportunity it presents to get to know people. Although we only met the day that I turned the house and my 2 cats over to his care, we had delightful communication throughout his stay. He wanted to be sure he was providing the right care to all living and non-living elements of my home as well as just chat beyond what we'd had an opportunity to cover when we were face to face on the handoff day. Bottom line: I'd have Justin back even if I wasn't going anywhere! I've met a friend. And my neighbors did as well! Oh yes, and my two cats were well looked after, the house was in ship shape, and Justin was able to brief the next sitter in person (I'd had to extend my time away and Justin already had another commitment). To say I felt confident leaving my pets and home in Justin's care is an understatement. Justin is a real adventurer and believer in the power of both human and animal connection. Without a doubt, I would recommend him as a sitter...and a friend! Thank you, Justin for a great example of how to wrestle so much more meaning out of zeewoi.
Laura came across the country to sit for us. She arrived a day early and from the moment my pets met her our Lokie was smitten. We have one shy cat Luna and she was out and about on the first night. Laura kept us updated and shared her Adventures as well. We do live in a small hideaway of a town so seeing that she was able to enjoy herself was nice. We returned to a clean home, laundry done also, and very content pets. Lokie was sad for a few days as he missed his friend. We would recommend Laura as a sitter to anyone and would have her back again. 5 plus stars. ⭐
Paige, David, and family were WONDERFUL sitters for my crew! They were so pleasant and personable, and the pets warmed up to them very quickly. Even my rescue cat who tends to stray away from men loved David. I received regular updates and communication (before and during the sit). I truly did not have any concerns while I was away knowing that everyone had such great care and attention given to them. (I know the dogs had a good time because when I came home there was no commotion over my return.) I was away on NYE and Paige had no issues keeping an eye on one of the dogs who has anxiety surrounding loud noises. The family cleaned up after themselves and may have left the house cleaner than when I left! Truly such a great family who I would welcome back any time!
We can not exaggerate the care and love Juliet and Laurent gave to our cat, Piero, during his the last few weeks of life. While we left for our trip thinking he merely had a bladder infection, his symptoms turned for the worse a weeks into their sit and later revealed he had cancer. No one would wish their sitter to need to hospice their cat but Juliet and Laurent showed such compassion for Piero and volunteered to be with him when we made the decision to put him down. It was an emotional time for all of us and we will be forever grateful to our two caring cat and house sitters. We have had many fantastic housesitters through zeewoi but Juliet and Laurent top the list. Their professionalism, constant communication and compassion were exceptional. Should you have the opportunity to have them in your home, do not hesitate to book them, you will have no regrets. We do, however, regret that they had such a short time with Piero and had to experience such a painful event.
Danny and Jo did a great job caring for our 3 cats and fish AND lots of plants (and home of course) while we were out of town for 3 weeks. We came back to a very clean house, sheets, and towels all clean and folded and fresh sheets on the bed they were using. The plants were all alive too, which is a first for us (again, we have a lot of plants!). The cats were happy to see us and they were all accounted for (a past sitter lost a cat for a week - they escaped outside as a non-outside cat). Everything was in its place and looked great. We received regular updates (via text) with photos of the cats lounging about which was important for us. Danny asked good questions when they visited us before the sit, and when reviewing our pet/house sitting instructions. The only thing we noticed that was different was that our 2 young cats were a little lighter (not necessarily a bad thing) but we understand that being gone for that length of time can be stressful on our furry family, which almost always affects their eating habits. All in all, we would definitely have them again!
Karen was an extraordinary house and pet sitter who I hope to invite back again soon. You would be extremely fortunate to have her take care of your pets and home. From the very beginning she radiated calmness, knowledge, caring and curiosity. We had a great initial conversation where Karen answered questions I didn't even know I should be asking, and asked excellent questions so she could be prepared and understand the special needs for both my cat and home. She flew into my city the day before I was leaving and stayed at a nearby hostel so that we could meet in person and do a walk through of my home. They say pets have an intuitive nature about people, and I knew Karen would be a winner when my normally very shy/nervous cat came right up and let her pet him. Karen sent wonderful pictures and updates while I was gone and asked questions when she wasn't sure about something. When I returned home everything was spotless and my cat was content. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better house sitter experience. Thank you Karen!
Cat and Paul were wonderful sitters - our cats were contented and calm when we returned. And the house was spotless. Plus Paul mowed our entire yard including the back meadow - what a surprise! We very much enjoyed visiting with them as well and getting to know them. Highly recommend :)

Kate's K9 has friendly and reliable dog walkers who really care for our pets. The dogs are always excited to see them at the door!
The best dog walkers in the DMV. My pup Winston looks forward to seeing the walkers. They ensure he has fresh water in his bowl and give him plenty of love and attention before securing him in our home. We are thankful for the services they provide our furbaby.
I absolutely love this company!! The first meet and greet, Kate and her colleague came to meet our puppy and go over in detail what was expected during her dog walks, training, habits etc. She also shadow her colleague on the first few days to make sure it was a smooth transition for our girl. We have been customers for almost a year now. 100% reliable, caring, pay attention to detail and my dog loves her caretakers! The best part is our work is both mental and physically tiring so to come home to a happy tired dog is worth every penny. They also communicate in detail with photos, map of their walk, what your dog did and a report card on the visit. A huge THANK YOU to our team Natasha and Steve! You are all amazing at what you do and so happy to have you on our care team for our dog!
We absolutely love Kates K9 pet service. All the dog walkers have been great and our dogs love them. The app makes it so easy to request a day and time, make payments and communicate. We love the photos we get after every walk and the update they send letting us know how the walk was. If your looking for a dependable dog walking service look no further they are great.
This is an awesome company. I would not want to trust my boys with anyone other than Kate’s K9.
I am really enjoying Kate's K9 Pet care service. I was very fortunate to find Kate online. Kate provide top quality service to my pet. She is very compassionate, and show great patience with my puppy. Kate visits has really made my puppy more adorable, and well behave. I strongly recommend Kate service to you, and you will be very satisfied with her care, dependability, loyalty and faithfulness.
Kate's Pet Care is without a doubt the best I have had in the area. She is so kind and my cat and dog love her. I never have to worry when I am away that they are not getting the best care or attention, and I always get lots of updates on her app about the visits. She offers a great value for what she provides. I tried other services like Becky's Pet Care and had a few really bad experiences. I have a dog, cat, and a fish tank, and she has taken care of all of them.
Kate and her crew are absolutely wonderful. Very reliable and accommodating; they do their research and are more than willing to give individualized special care for each pet. Travis was excellent taking care of my minipig while I was away, following instructions down to a tee and making sure she got everything she needed. I didn't have to worry one bit. The report cards are great so you know how your pet is doing during each visit.
I’ve been using Kate’s K9 services for a year and have been very pleased with their professionalism, genuine care for my dogs, and good communication in every visit. I highly recommend.
I found Kates pet sitting service after looking for a long time for someone to watch my pets. I have a dog who is very shy but super sweet and most people are scared of him, and won’t give him a chance. Kates team is super patient with him and it shows. They are very professional and I feel very comfortable leaving my pets with them which is hard for me cause they are my babies. I highly recommend them!!
My puppy was in good hands. She was happy, looked healthy and coat was still nicely kept on pick up. My pup had good socialization in boarding care for the few days, with active playtime with dogs she socialized well with. I got photo updates frequently. Also, I utilized the pet transportation offered due to conflicts with my flight time, and she was flexible with my requests. Communication was excellent. Will definitely seek The Bark Club services again.
The Bark Club was exceptional at taking care of my baby. He loves to play and if you have younger dogs that are full of energy, this place is wonderful at exhausting their energy!
They have made my weeks more manageable by watching my fur child, Bentley Michael. I am very protective of my baby and do not trust anyone outside of a select few family members and The Bark Club to watch him for a while away from us. He truly loves going to daycare where he has made new friends (not easy for him to do), has a large area to run around a lot, and relaxes as he does at home in an environment that we are both comfortable with, which is full of love. I cannot imagine what our lives would be like without them. Truly grateful.
Best experience I’ve had leaving my dog. My dog chaos was treated great and I got updated all throughout the day on how he was doing as well as got sent videos of what he was up to. I will definitely be taking chaos back in the future.
An Unforgettable Experience for our fur babies Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our recent experience at the bark club was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we stepped through the door, we knew our beloved pup was in great hands. Laura went above and beyond to create a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring every dog had a wagging tail throughout their stay. Laura took the time to get to know our dog's personality, preferences, and any special needs they had. Not only did our pups have a fantastic time during the day, but the boarding experience was equally exceptional. The overnight accommodations were cozy and clean, providing a comfortable retreat for our furry friend. Knowing that our dog was in a secure environment and receiving personalized attention overnight brought us peace of mind.
My pups Max and Marley absolutely LOVE The Bark Club. It is their favorite place We would not trust their care to anyone else!! They have plenty of room for the pups to play and run around. They even offer some grooming services. I highly recommend this location. Great Price, Great services, Great people.
The Bark Club did an excellent job watching our dog! They allowed us to explore the place first so we all felt comfortable. Laura also updated us with pictures and videos and kept our dog active and healthy! It was easy to notice the patience Laura dedicates to each pet; she treats them with love and respect by understanding their individual needs and requirements. The Bark Club is very trustworthy and caring pet daycare. A home away from home, I definitely recommend!
Maria was able to board my dog over the Thanksgiving holiday on short notice. We first had a meet and greet, where she met my dog Max and had a chance to experience his temperament. She is a very nice person and after chatting with her for a few minutes, I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her. Her space is large with ample exercise room for the dogs, and the crates are very roomy as well. She boarded Max, and was flexible when I had to change his pickup time. I would be happy to use her services again!
We loved leaving our dog at The Bark Club. It is a family run business that treats your dog like family! Most kennels keep the dogs inside all day, but not here. They ensure that your dog is socialized and gets plenty of outdoor time. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone that wants the best for their pups at a great rate!!
Lauri has been absolutely accommodating and I appreciate the wonderful service that Jackson my dog has received. I am in the military and with my last minute traveling plans she has always been flexible with me which I value tremendously. Great Bark Club experience.
Joe is an amazing dog walker. He's prompt, professional and affordable. I've been working with him for ~a year and I am compelled to write a review sharing his amazing service. If you are looking for a loyal and reliable dog walker, Joe is your man. My 4 year old 20 pound terrier mix is in love with Joe and looks forward to their 2 walks every week. I am extremely comfortable and secure with Joe having access to my home when I am at work. My pup recently had an upset stomach and had an accident in my home, Joe was quick to alert me and clean things up. I greatly appreciate his kindness, warm personality and genuine love for my dog Doc.
Joe was great with our dog. Setting up the visits and overnights was easy and Joe was very responsive. He kept us updated and helped us out with a last minute visit when our travel was delayed.
I had Googled professional dog walkers the Fall of 2021. Thankfully, WaggnTails Pet Care showed up in my search. Joe immediately responded to my inquiry. We set a day and time for Joe to meet my babies (my two Maltese, Amos and Stella) and for us to discuss the pet services I needed. Amos and Stella took a liking to Joe right away. What was most impressive, is that when Joe came in my house to meet my babies for the first time, he sat down on the floor and bonded with them for some time before he and I even discussed the details of the pet care I needed for Amos and Stella. Wow! Because of COVID, I started out needing care for one day, twice a day each week. With the restrictions having been lifted, I'm in need of care three days a week, twice a day. Joe runs a professional business...he tracks vaccinations and he also does an assessment of pets' likes and dislikes, and their overall needs. I love my fur babies so much and it's important to me that I have the best care possible for them. I found that in Joe and I'm ever so thankful. He is careful, attentive and very likable. Amos and Stella can attest to that.
Joe is wonderful! He walked my dog, Brutus, and did very well with him. Brutus can be a bit rambunctious, but Joe’s calming demeanor eased my dog’s anxieties. Joe is knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and trustworthy - all of which are important when choosing someone to care for your fur-baby. I highly recommend Joe for your dog-walking needs.
Mr. Reeves was very professional, as well as, knowledgeable. He was prompt and courteous. He provided outstanding service, to my dog, Doc. I loved the communication he expressed, with Doc. He was a true lifesaver, for me.
My dog was treated well for his stay. The facility is older but is clean and has runs. They offer grooming too.
Adonis, loves aunt Paula but, is always glad to hear mommy's car engine!
Wonderful place to take your pet for grooming and boarding. Great friendly reliable and trustworthy staff.
Paula is awesome! She's very knowledgeable about dogs and takes good care of your furry family members when they're at the kennel. I've been boarding my dogs there over the past 20 years and have always had a great experience. Just recently, I was running late to pick up my dog and Paula waited way after closing time for me. She didn't have to do that, but she did, and it was so much appreciated. She had given my dog a great bath, so my pup was clean and happy when I came to get her. Great place with great people!
My little dog is 11 and 1/2 years old and she has never stayed in a kennel before last month. Muddy Paws however is such a great place that I feel comfortable insecure leaving my dog there and she is happy and clean when she comes out to greet us when we pick her up. The people are so wonderful and my TankGirl was immediately calm and relaxed when Paula picked her up the very first time so that Tank could look through the kennel with her. My husband says "it's great, Paula's great, we recommend it highly!"
We brought our two large dogs here for a week long stay, it was our first time using Muddy Paws. Our dogs were well taken care of and you can tell the owner really cares about the dogs who board there. The owner gave them baths because their groomer was on vacation, the dogs smell good and their hair is soft. The owner gave us a tour of the facility, we will use them in the future. Prices are reasonable and they have convenient hours.
My family has boarded our dogs at Muddy Paws since I was in elementary school. I’m now 33 years old. Paula treats my family and my dogs like family. We also have a number of friends who board there dogs as well. My toy poodle Pierre runs to Paula with excitement every time we are there. Anyone who knows Pierre knows he is grumpy and anti social lol He has been going there for 13 years and it’s the only place he is excited to go other than home. We have never had a single complaint. Not one!! I recommend everyone board there animals with Muddy Paws if you want your pet to be treated like gold!
Good kennel. Great customer service. We are repeat customers and will continue to be. Even better is if you opt for the last day wash they so not charge you die that day.
Awesome owner, I am a regular, I ended up requesting a reservation a bit late. They were already booked. I explained my family situation. She called back as soon as someone canceled. I was more than appreciative. Best kennel ever.
I've taken both of my dogs to Muddy Paws for grooming for years, and they have done a great job grooming them. I love the owners they are truly great people, and they care a lot about your pets and providing great individual attention. When my first dog died Paula called to check on me. That was a very difficult time for me, and it meant a lot to me that she took the time to reach out to me.
A Thank You to Lauren and the Story of an Ex-Reactive Rescue Dog ✨ Oh, it was such a joy to finally take my favorite rescue dog, Nessa (an 8-year-old Belgian Malinois), home after a month of walks at the shelter. It was exciting because she was our first dog ever. But after just 5 days, we started noticing serious problems: endless barking (I'm not exaggerating when I say 500 times a day), reactivity towards dogs/people/cats/birds, protective behavior, pulling on the leash, restlessness at home, uncontrollable behavior, it felt dangerous... To be honest, after 10 days, we considered bringing her back to the shelter. We felt so incapable and thought someone else could handle it better. This was not at all the dog we had dreamed of. But then came the turning point. We desperately called Lauren, who guided us from A to Z. Thanks to her help, Nessa transformed in just a few weeks into a happy, relaxed dog. I never could have dreamed back then that we would have such a wonderful dog now. She can now walk off-leash, is no longer reactive, has found peace, is super obedient, is starting to trust people, and our bond is stronger than ever. If you are struggling, I want to encourage you and let you know there is hope. Don’t be afraid to ask for help because a good relationship with your dog is worth its weight in gold. Charlotte
Amazing trainer, who knows a lot about dogs!!! It’s been great to learn and see her in action. No doubt, 100% recommended!! 👌 …
We have been using Off Collar for kitty visits for about 18 months and have nothing but good things to say. They are responsive and prompt. Thank you for taking such good care of Patches!!
We (and our pets) love Off Collar! Lauren, Katherine, and Alyzah are so sweet with our babies. It is hard to find someone to trust with a Great Dane. They are big animals but also very sensitive and require a gentle but firm touch. Our boy is always so excited to get walked by any of them, and we’re glad to have people we can rely on to give him some company midday. Katherine also takes care of our two kittens when we are away for vacation. They are very shy, but last month, they finally came out to say hi to her, so they must have decided in the end they like her after all :) Off Collar is also very understanding of emergencies and flexible, which is hugely helpful because we have variable schedules each month.
I love Off Collar! Lauren has been amazing in coordinating and supporting my senior pup! Alyzah, my pup’s wonderful walker, is so good with him and keeps me informed if she notices anything out of the ordinary. They’ve both been very helpful in allaying my fears after a bad experience with another company! Can’t say enough good thing about Off Collar!
My wife and I are happy we found Lauren and Off Collar. Our Great Pyrenees was impossible to walk, constantly barking at other dogs. Enter Lauren and within a short period of time, our dog was walking by our side, not barking and listening to commands. What a wonderful trainer and walker. Thank you Lauren, we couldn’t have done it without you!!!
We are so grateful to the Off Collar team for helping take care of our dog! Sandi, our walker, was always prompt, friendly, and so patient with our dog Ivy, who is sometimes scared and anxious. She sent detailed updates after every walk, including photos, and you could just see how happy Ivy was with her. We trust her completely and can't wait to book more walks in the future!
We’ve had a few 1-1 sessions with Lauren to help with our reactive dog, Chloe, as well as monthly pack walks. She has been nothing short of phenomenal and has helped us so much! She taught us the skills and tools to help work with Chloe and we have seen tremendous progress! Additionally, Off Collar is our go-to for pet sitting services. Chloe absolutely adores Katherine who does a great job of making sure our pup is cared for when we are out of town. I can’t speak highly enough about their care and services and would definitely recommend.
I cannot say enough about how awesome Lauren is! She helped me and my dog work through some behavioral issues recently. I was at my wits end with him and had read/watched everything I could find and nothing seemed to be making a difference. After working with Lauren she was able to help identify specific issues, signs to watch for, helped me understand exactly what my dog is trying to tell me and how I am communicating with him. She is so much fun to work with and extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My boy absolutely loves her! She has a wonderful balance of fun and lightheartedness (which removed the stress and frustration we were experiencing) and deliberate corrections and commands. It was awesome to see how well my boy responded to her! I have already recommended her to my friends who were looking for a private trainer and will continue to do so! Thank you, Lauren we both appreciate you!!
Lauren has been great with Karma (dog) and his parents (us). We are learning a lot in such a short amount of time and have already seen a positive difference.
I have taken my 1 year old GSD to 4 sessions with Nic and it has been life changing! My dog struggled with basic obedience, reactiveness, even walks became too overwhelming due to all the leash pulling and constant reactivity at the smallest things. I have went through two trainers previously and learned more training with Nic in the first session than 6 months worth of sessions with both other the other trainers. Just when I thought all was lost, I came across ISpeakDog and I am loving the progress! Major improvement in her overall behavior, no more leash pulling during our daily walks, no more loosing her mind during car rides, no more having to take anxiety medication before vet visits. Nic is very knowledgeable and patient, he makes sure you understand everything and answers all questions you may have before, during at at the end of all sessions! Nic also instills confidence in the owner which is a major key point in training , he changed my whole perspective on training. My only regret is that I did not bring my dog to Nic sooner. Looking forward to future sessions!!
First day of training was way better than I imagined! Nic was very patient with my 1 yr old rescue puppy. My pup is full of energy and highly reactive. Simple walks were becoming a nightmare. However, he was able to walk calmly beside me during just the first few mins of our session based on the corrections. I look forward to how he progresses. If you have a highly reactive dog, then definitely sign up. Worth every penny.
Thank you so much, Nic. Today was a successful first day of training. Nic helped me relax while taking Evis for a walk and provided great direction on handling my little bear.
I’ve now taken my 4 month old Bernedoodle to two sessions with Nic and have noticed such a difference in his behavior and our bond! Nic is a natural at commanding and connecting with my pup and has given me the tools and confidence needed to practice at home. Whether you just got a puppy or adopted an older pup, I highly recommend taking some 1:1 sessions at ISpeakDogg!
I reached out to Nic, due to a great referral by word of mouth from a complete stranger. She previously, had her dog in training sessions with him & his courses. I must say, everything she mentioned is true! Nic is a very personable, understanding, well knowledgeable and observant in all his training. I'm truly impressed, with this just being my first session. I look forward to continuing training sessions with him & getting my puppy Ginger, the obedience she needs and I require. If you're looking for someone who's about business & gets it done, all while teaching (Nic is your guy)!
One of my dogs is 2 yo and has never been on a leash because he would eat it or run when I pulled it out and then I could not walk him. I contacted ispeakdogg and they told me that I would be able to walk my dog on a leash today (in one day). I laughed because I did not believe it. As I was being trained how to teach my dog, I was able to walk him on that leash today! Yes, I have homework, but this far exceeded my expectation of him even being able to have a leash on, obeying my command or taking a walk. I’m impressed. Nic was so calm when providing instruction and every step was thoroughly explained and demonstrated. Thank you! I’m looking forward to the next session.
I adopted my dog from the Montgomery Animal shelter, but unfortunately they downplayed her dog aggression. Within the first hour of her adoption, she slipped out of the shelters harness and bit another dog. Distressed and deflated, I still could not bring her back to the shelter where she already spent so much time after being abandoned. I reached out to Nic and he immediately put us both to work. His vast knowledge, experience and patience changed everything. I understood my dog better and he showed me how to communicate better with her. My quality of life changed. I highly recommend the iSpeakDogg Training Program. I imagine not everyone has the same intense scenario as I did, but everyone will have the same positive experience.
I am amazed at how much Nic was able to teach my dog in a short period of time. As an adult rescue, he really struggled with basic obedience. Nic boarded and trained him for 3 weeks. Throughout the process he communicated his progress and areas in which we would need to continue to work with him at home. I appreciated his genuine passion for dogs and had no worries while he was in his care. Our dog's training here were his first steps into being successful in his forever home.
We had our first session with Nick and were really impressed. He is very knowledgeable and a good instructor, and he listens to everything and addresses all your questions and concerns completely. You'll see results fast! We promptly signed up for the whole six weeks.
I had a fantastic experience with Nic at Ispeakdogg. His expertise in dog training is unmatched, and his passion for dogs shines through in his work. Nic's certifications and commitment to ongoing learning make him a top choice for anyone seeking professional dog training. Plus, Nic is also a safe and reliable boarder for your furry friend. His dedication to animal welfare through initiatives like P.A.W. is truly commendable. I highly recommend Nic for training, boarding, and baths. With Nic, you can trust that your pet will receive excellent care and attention.
Yeah, it's a no for me, dawg. I took my dog to Fur-Get Me Not on Monday, December 9 at 3:15 PM for a daycare evaluation. Upon entry, I wasn't greeted particularly warmly by the front desk staff, but they did direct me to the person who would be completing my dog's evaluation. As the staff member, Christopher, who was actually completing my dog's evaluation was friendly and inviting, I did not think too much about the front desk staff. The evaluation cost $25 and it took about 20 minutes. Christopher took my dog to the back and had her meet other dogs and staff members. When the evaluation was over, he informed me that she had passed and answered most of my questions. I asked him what the pricing was for daycare, because it was not listed on the FAQ page that he provided me. He told me he didn't know, but that the front desk staff would be able to answer my question. After wrapping up to the evaluation, I walked over to the front desk to inquire about pricing for daycare. Keep in mind that while this is a full-service dog care facility, it seems that the main service-- or at least one of the most popular services-- that this facility provides is dog daycare. I asked the woman sitting at the desk about pricing. She told me something along the lines of, "we don't have the pricing listed on the brochure, but it is online." I then asked if she could just tell me the pricing. (I'm literally standing at the front desk at this point where they are supposed to answer questions about their services-- wouldn't you just tell me the price instead of directing me to go look it up for myself?!) She then responds "for what?!" with an mistakable air of annoyance. Now, I would expect a front desk staff member to say something like, "sure, for which service?" The way she phrased her question seems like I was bothering her. I responded "for daycare" and then, she said "well let me just pull up the website and look..." The entire interaction was odd, like she was doing me a favor by providing pertinent info about the business at which she works. Also, why there isn't signage with the pricing for daycare at the front desk, who knows? I do know one thing though: if you act like I'm bothering you by asking you to do things within the scope of your job, I won't bother to spend my coins.
My dog loves it here! He always has the best day and is exhausted when he gets home lol. I love that they do cute activities for the holidays, make training recommendations when needed, and have pretty much everything you need. I love how they divide the groups based on size, temperament, etc, because our last daycare just put all dogs together in one big group, which was overstimulating for him at times. I can’t recommend them enough and every staff member has been SO sweet and helpful.
I can't say enough good things about the dog training classes here! Before we started training, my dog was extremely reactive to other dogs, making walks and outings very stressful. After attending Julie’s and Malia’s classes, I've seen such a transformation in my dog's behavior. Julie and Malia are incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and they gave me the tools I needed to help my dog stay calm and focused, even around other dogs. My dog is able to attend daycare without any behavior issues and even plays with other dogs. She is still introverted and barks from time to time, but it’s much more manageable now. On top of that, my dog has always been very fearful of loud noises, which made everyday situations challenging, especially living in the city with all trains, airplanes, and traffic. Thanks to the confidence-building exercises we learned, I've noticed a huge improvement in how she handles her fears. She’s still afraid of thunderstorms and car rides though. However, the most important lessons I learned from the classes are how to identify my dog’s triggers and knowing how to best support her through those challenges. It’s made our bond much stronger now.
I am so grateful to the whole team at Fur-Get Me Not for the amazing care that my dogs have received there. We’ve done training, daycare, and boarding, and always had a great experience. Definitely recommend.
I have a dog, Ari, with behavioral and medical issues, specifically the canine version of ADHD (low frustration tolerance, poor impulse control, the attention span of a space cadet), anxiety and diabetes insipidus, which exacerbated his anxiety. When Ari was a pup, his behavior got so bad that I considered giving him back to his rescue but was nervous he'd bite a less understanding person and be put down. (He's a cattle dog. They nip. He was nipping A LOT with little inhibition.) While I was waiting to get an appointment with ABWC, we started doing 1:1 training at Fur-Get Me Not (FMN), and then moved to impulse control classes, drastically improving his behavior, which proper medication helped support. Anyway... I moved Ari to FMN daycare after I noticed how upset he was being dropped off at our last daycare — and after having to extract from staff that he was having ADHD-typical "toddler meltdowns" during the day from overstimulation, during which he'd bark and nip, so he'd end up in "time out" for large portions of the day. (Why didn't they tell me!?) FMN daycare's structured environment with a midday treat and the option to add on the 1:1 attention time Ari needs to have a lower anxiety experience make all the difference. With their detailed report cards, I know if he needs more X or less Y to achieve his best behavior. And midday snuggles help him a lot. Highly recommend!
I first came across furget-me-not training when I was looking for fun classes my dog and I could take on the weekends. My interest was piqued at their Reactive Dogs classes, since I knew it took a special type of understanding and expertise to work with reactive dogs. So I signed up my dog, Arnold, him being a reactive dog. Over the course of the 6 weeks, we were able to feel really reassured that our years of training and work was going in the right direction. I was really appreciative of how patient, kind, and knowledgeable Juliet and Malia were during each class. They were also flexible and attentive to each student - when they saw Arnold was already comfortable with some skills, they would give us helpful tips on how to make it more challenging or purposefully give us opportunities to challenge Arnold a bit more. We were more than happy to practice some skills we already knew in a live classroom AND learn new ones with other dogs in a controlled environment. The tools Juliet and Malia gave us are now engrained in us, and I can genuinely say that it has helped Arnold improve in just 6 short weeks - I haven’t seen this rate of improvement in him over the YEARS we have been practicing on our own. Just the other week, he had absolute no reaction to people cleaning our home, when 6 weeks ago he was barking his head off at them. I feel much more confident in my skills as Arnold’s mom and handler, and I also feel closer and more understanding of my dog. I have been recommending furget-me-not training to several friends, and I stand by it. They know their stuff. I can’t wait to come back for Reactive 2 and explore the other classes that can really help us and Arnold learn the tools and skills that will help him shine and be the best version of himself no matter the challenge! Thank you so much Juliet and Malia!!
I love that when I drop my puppy off for daycare, her tail starts wagging before I even park the car. The staff greets her by name with lots of pets and attention. She comes home a tired and happy pup. The staff has been very flexible, accommodating and helpful. I definitely recommend this daycare to others.
Not really feasible. We dropped our Huskey here a couple of times, but one employee insisted that we only only bring him on weekends simply because he barked too much at pickup times. This was despite our dog getting stellar behavior comments from the other employees. We explained that he was vocal because it is a standard huskey characteristic, but he simply did not like our dog. Upon further questioning, we determined that he did not even read the directions we left with our dog and did not even know the dog's gender despite multiple corrections. Weekend daycare is useless to us and we have no time for flaky sensitive employees. We use the place down the road now.
In an area with so many daycare/boarding options I can imagine its difficult to compete however Fur-Get Me Not has won us over. Two months of day care, a full week of boarding, and a great consultation experience. Its team is always open to questions we may have and its nice to see a variety of interactive toys locally. I truly believe the environment here has helped our younger dog come out of her shell and be more social. Highly recommend.
I'm new to the area and found Fur Get Me Not through a Google search and I have had a wonderful experience so far! They have been very good to my dog and I really appreciate how much they communicate with dog owners. I think if you're looking for a place that will make you feel better about leaving your dog for daycare or boarding, this is the place.
District Pet Care is simply the best. Our vet recommended them, and we couldn’t be happier. Jackie and her team are great petsitters, and they have always gone above and beyond for us and our cat. When our baby arrived earlier than expected, for example, we texted Jackie from the hospital and she rearranged her schedule to take care of our cat even though it was a holiday. More recently, Henry arrived at our house while we were on vacation and found that the lock was sticking and he couldn’t get in. He finally got the door open after lots of effort and a trip home to get WD40. Without making a big deal about it, Henry spent hours of his time ensuring that our cat got fed, and he saved us lots of anxiety and an expensive locksmith call. Even when they’re not saving us from disasters, District Pet Care sitters do a great job—they are reliable, send pictures every day, and make sure our cat has everything he needs. Another great benefit is that Jackie has medical training and is able to administer shots and medications. She comes once a month to give our cat an injection, and she keeps track of the schedule for us and is so flexible and friendly. It’s always a joy to see her! In short, Jackie and her team are amazing. Your pet will be in the best hands if you hire them!
I adore District Pet Care. Catherine has been so amazing with my two cats and I love that she takes the time to sit with them and give them attention. She also sends detailed messages that reassure me while I am away. Thank you for treating my two girls with such care and love!
Jackie and her team are excellent! We have used District Pet Care two separate times and our kitties and fish were well taken care of! I love that we receive daily updates of and photos while we are away. It is such aa great relief to know that our pets are in great hands while we are away.
Jackie is very sweet and professional. She was flexible in terms of schedule and made me feel very comfortable leaving my two fur babies in her care. She also sends updates and pictures every time she visits, which is awesome. I will definitely use District Pet Care again whenever I go on my next vacation! It is nice to finally have a good pet sitter established!
When my usual cat sitter told me she was discontinuing her services, she recommended District Pet Care to me. I used them this past week and was impressed with the level of communication, photos of my babies, and care they received while I was away. The cats were fed, played with, and loved by Jackie, who cared for them. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for a professional cat or small animal sitter.
Jackie has taken care of my cat twice now, while I have been away for a week at a time. She does a great job! She is very professional and very good with my cat. There's no hiding under the bed when Jackie comes to visit! I love that I get photo updates and messages while I'm gone. I feel very comfortable trusting Jackie in my house and with my cat.
Thanks so much to Jackie for taking care of my two boys while I was on the other side of the country. I've always been nervous to leave them alone when I travel, but Jackie's consistent updates made me feel better. She also has a way with animals, as one of my cats never leaves his hiding spot for strangers, but on the second day he let Jackie pet him. I'll be using District Pet Care for as long as I live in DC.
We love our District Pet Care friends! Jackie and Samiksha and the entire team are warm and friendly and take amazing care of us!! They also take fun photos and send them to our Mom every day! We agree with our Mom that Jackie and the team are the best sitters ever - so take it from us, you want District Pet Care taking care of you like they do us! - Sam and Kevin
Very highly recommend Jackie! Super sweet and reliable. When we returned home everything was spotless and our cats were happy and relaxed. She provides daily updates with photos which is greatly appreciated, plus she brought up our mail and watered our plants. Felt completely comfortable leaving our home and pets in Jackie's care and will definitely be doing so again!
Jackie is wonderful. I can't say enough nice things about her, she took absolutely great care of my cat while I was away, and kept me updated each visit with pictures. It made for such a great vacation, there was no stress worrying if my cat was in good hands or not. I will definitely be using Jackie the next time I need a pet sitter.
Kiara is, by far, the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! She takes such wonderful care of my fur baby every day while I’m at work and I can’t recommend her company enough. She makes sure all of my puppy’s needs are met and that he’s always having fun. I miss him while he’s gone but I know Happy Pup is making him so happy. I have so much appreciation for Happy Pup and Kiara
This company is absolutely amazing. The owner has extensive experience as a vet tech and with more complex animal care. She is reliable, flexible and extremely professional. She is able to care for my challenging senior dogs, including a large dog with mobility issues and another with health conditions. Kiara is honest and cares deeply about each animal. I highly recommend using Happy Pup!
I recently used Happy Pup services to take care of my beloved dog name “ace while I was out of town for a few days, and I was extremely impressed with the level of care and attention that my furry friend received. Kiara is the sole owner of Happy Pup & is highly trained and experienced in handling dogs of all sizes and breeds. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I contacted her to make a reservation. She took the time to get to know my dog's unique personality and needs, and made sure that all of his requirements were met while he was under their care. The environment is clean, safe, and spacious, which allowed my dog to play and exercise to his heart's content. She was also very accommodating with any special requests that I had, and they kept me updated with regular photos and videos of my dog during his stay. Overall, I highly recommend Happy Pup to any pet owner who is looking for a reliable and trustworthy dog sitter and care company. Kiara is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and they truly go above and beyond to make sure that your furry friend is happy, healthy, and well-cared for. I will definitely be using her services again in the future
Kiara is great! I love that she communicates during the visit if need be and sends me pics of my pup on her walk! 🤗 I can tell that she cares and is so sweet plus flexible with last minute appointments! I’m blessed to have found her!! …
This is the number 1 pick for all your puppy’s needs! i have received exceptional service. i have 3 frenchies and the Happy pup is a home away from home for my babies, i am extremely pleased with the service she has provided me
Cooper loves to go to Kiara’s house when we need a sitter. She is very accommodating and I feel very comfortable leaving my dog in her hands. She keeps us updated with how he’s doing and takes such good care of him each time.
We love Kiara and Happy Pup! Kiara is professional, kind, dependable, flexible and amazing with out two dogs. She even sends (really good) photos during walks, which is such a sweet and added bonus. We are so grateful that we found her! If you’re looking for a pet sitter she is the best! We cannot say enough wonderful things.
Happy Pup has done.such a great job taking care of my dog that I believe she prefers being with Happy Pup than being at home with me.
Kiara has been one of the best additions to helping with caring for my two dogs while I work extended hours during the day. They love her immensely and look forward to seeing her two/three times a week. She is patient, caring, knowledgeable, responsive, accountable, and worth every penny. Her background as a vet tech coupled with her love for dogs makes her an absolute gem, I love knowing my pups are in good hands whenever she is with them. I 100% recommend her services, you & your dog will be so happy to have her!
There are so many great things to say about Kiara! Bailey absolutely loves going to see her for dog sitting. She is well cared for and has opportunities to play with other dogs. Kiara is excellent in communicating with us from the start of our booking until the end when Bailey is back with us. You can tell Kiara truly cares about our dog and all the others she cares for. Bailey feels very welcome and we know she is in good hands anytime we need Kiara to care for her. We recommend her services from a dog walk to overnight stays.
I started bringing my 5 year old French Bulldog here a few months ago. I needed a new boarding place near me and found Playful Pack. I have been so pleased with this Playful Pack in Alexandria. My dog LOVES loves it. I have to lift him up and carry him out sometimes to leave, because he doesn't want to go home. He has done both boarding and daycare and both have been positive experiences. What spoke to me the most was how quickly the employees remembered his name and how quickly they were able to pick up on his personality. It is reassuring to see how excited he gets seeing the front desk people. Lastly, the report cards, pictures, and access to their live webcam is great and really enables my dog mom status. I have been very grateful to have found a place that treats my dog as their own, and that he's getting that doggie play time in each week.
We love Playful Pack Alexandria! Our pup was initially very shy towards other dogs, but once we started to take her once a week to Playful Pack she has come out of her shell. The concept of the 'pack' really helped her interact better with other dogs. We really like the new facility, the staff is really amazing and knows her by name. It feels great when picking her up and they know exactly what dog and share how she did during the day. It's nice to know that we can trust Playful Pack Alexandria to take care of our pup when we are at work or out of town with day care or boarding.
My Boston Terrier Walter has been coming here since the Alexandria location opened. He gets so incredibly excited when we pull up and park. He bounds in, happily greeting the staff and eagerly goes through the door when opened. He clearly loves the long-time staff members that he's gotten to know well. He mainly goes for daycare, but has also boarded and had positive experiences. It makes me feel so comfortable leaving him there being able to check in via webcam and through his end-of-day report cards. They do split the dogs into two groups - big pack and little pack. This is mostly by size as it sounds, though some of the larger, chiller dogs are also on the 'little' side. They also do a special daily activity during the week which jazzes up their experience. These include things like disco party, story time, pool pawty and more. My peace of mind and his sleepy self at the end of the day is well worth what I pay to send him there - and you can get slight discounts by buying packages instead of individual days. I've included a few of his report card pictures as well in this review. I would highly recommend the Alexandria Playful Pack location.
My sweet Millie has the best time at daycare whenever we drop her off at Playful Pack Alexandria. Her excitement is through the roof as soon as we walk in the building, and the staff is so sweet and attentive with her. I’ve had the worst experiences at other doggy daycare facilities in the area, so I was a little apprehensive when I first brought Millie in for an evaluation. The staff was so understanding and patient with me which really put me at ease. I also really like that I can use their cameras throughout the day to check on Millie. In my opinion, the best thing about Playful Pack is that the staff really engages and interacts with the dogs. For the most part, they also step in and issue corrections or disrupt negative behavior as they see it. My only recommendations (and it applies to all doggy daycare facilities) would be to have at least two people per room when you have a lot of dogs just to make sure they are being watched really closely. I would definitely recommend Playful Pack to others!
Playful Pack is awesome! We started taking our pup here last month and he’s had a blast every time that he’s been. The pricing is very reasonable and we love that there’s video cameras in the play rooms so that you can see what your dog is up to while you’re away. My only gripe is that the cameras are off before 9AM and after 5PM since I usually take my dog there at 6:30 in the morning and pick him up right before they close at 7:30 PM. With that said, I do know that he’s always in good hands and they do offer food and bath services for those who need them! This place is perfect if you have things to do and want your dog to be well taken care of while you do it. There’s nothing better than picking up my smiling boy and seeing him sleep soundly on the way home from a long and fruitful day of play. Will hopefully take our fuzzy friend here very often going forward.
We've been bringing both of our dogs to the Alexandria location since they opened and LOVE this location. We've tried a number of different daycares over the years, and have had overall positive experiences with each of them, but Playful Pack has been the best by far. 1. They have cameras and they show a great view of the play area 2. They have special activities every day 3. They have an outdoor area where the dogs can enjoy the activity or otherwise spend time in multiple areas 4. They have normal daycare hours on the weekends!! 5. They interact with the dogs more than I've seen at any other daycare (typically I've seen the person walking around, but little positive interaction with the dogs themselves - our dogs are usually too shy to play with the other dogs, so encouraging interactions with the attendant is always appreciated) 6. The play area itself looks very clean, and has a bunch of swings, steps, etc. for different dogs to interact with 7. They have the option for overnight boarding in the actual playroom versus in crates 8. Their prices are entirely fair and seem on par with the other daycares we've worked with 9. They post pictures and a report card after each visit (examples shown) This is the first daycare th9.at we've had where our dogs actually walk freely inside rather than pulling to leave with us when we drop them off. As far as I'm concerned that's all the positive reinforcement I needed.
My two fur babies love it at playful pack. The daily report cards and the ability to check in on the webcam make me feel like I am there with them and less guilty. The play activities are great and the photos are always a nice touch.
We were extremely apprehensive to take our dog to daycare, and each place we researched just left us unsettled. Then we found Playful Pack! We have been taking our pup here for few months and it has been the most wonderful experience. You can tell that each staff member ADORES the pups and treats them as their own. Not only do we love it, our pup does too! As soon as she is out of the car she is charging towards that door, crying with excitement at the staff that greets her. I love that we can check on her via the webcam throughout the day, and the fun daily activities they have for the dogs are adorable. They give a daily report card after pick-up to let you know how your pup did, all with photos of them enjoying their day. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!!
Really happy with Playful Pack ALX. My girl gets so excited when we pull in. The activities that they have each day are really cute and I love getting the report card and pictures. The camera is also nice to be able to check in and see how the dogs are doing. I’ve also done boarding a few times and the experience has been good.
My dog had a terrible experience here during his boarding this past summer! He came home with all of these marks around his neck that the staff was unable to explain. Then upon pickup, the employee upfront was flustered with multiple pickups at the same time and rushed through giving my dog a bath. He came out wet with his fur matted in several places and he’s a Labradoodle with straight hair so I never even have to brush him to keep his hair detangled, but you do have to make sure to wash all of the soap off so he doesn’t get matted. His fur wasn’t even that long at the time, but some fur had to be cut away. After consulting with the Vet about the marks, she believed that the facility possibly used a choke collar around my dog with prongs to have made those marks. I talked to the newer manager at the time, who assured me that they were going to be making a lot of changes to include the guy that can be heard yelling at the dogs while you’re in the waiting room. I believe that she made some strong changes and I saw one review saying someone abusive at the location was fired, but I never felt comfortable taking Harvey back. I was reminded to make this review this week, because someone accidentally sent me a report card for my dog, who has not been there since the summer and I requested for his file to be deleted. I think cameras overnight would help for other customers as well.
Potomac Paws deserves more than five stars. Our dog was tenderly cared for with such detailed attention while we were away. Ryan's team is so thorough that I felt zero stress over her well-being. I didn't need to obsess over my dog because she had others obsessing over her. She had ample cuddles and sniff-worthy walks. It's great! Their business protocol goes above and beyond. They use your pet profile to learn your dog's needs and quirks & to keep an eye on your home while you're away. It's a joy to read my dog's report card from each visit. So detailed! And it is warm fuzzy to come home to a happy dog AND our trash taken to the curb and mail brought inside. Potomac Paws is the best neighbor on steroids!
We can’t say enough good about the care our two cats have received from Potomac Paws providers. Recently, we needed pet sitting for about two weeks. We were anxious about leaving them for such a long time. But when we got the reports each visit from their caregivers, we could see how happy they were. we love that they provide visit reports every visit. For a two week period, it was necessary to have several different individuals come for the twice a day visits. It was primarily one person in the morning and another in the evening. And each was great. They fed them, of course, cleaned up the scattered kibbles, cleaned the very food bowls and the water fountain, scooped the litter box, and played with them. They also brought in the mail and even put out and brought in the trash cans. Ryan Dempsey, the owner, makes sure that every necessary visit is covered. Reliability is perfect; we knew they’d be fed and loved. We give them our highest recommendation!
After having pets for over 20 years, I finally have a reliable pet care provider that allows me to enjoy travel and have the peace of mind that my babies are well taken care of in my absence! Potomac Paws is locally owned and loved in our community. Their providers are reliable and friendly! I love the convenience of scheduling via their app, and the reports they update to the app - ON EVERY VISIT - with details and photos. My two hound dogs love the walks and extra attention that they get with Potomac Paws. My Beagle is a picky eater and quirky in general and they totally accommodate his needs. I highly recommend their services - once you are a regular customer, you can schedule a quick visit or walk if you get stuck at work, tied up in traffic, or stay over at a friends - this has been a lifesaver! 5 STARS!!!
I can’t say enough about our friends at Potomac Paws! Ryan has put together an amazing team of enthusiastic and hard-working pet lovers who are responsive to your furry pal’s every need. As soon as we found them, “Team Tilly” became part of our reliable routine, and a service I know I can trust. They always come through for last minute requests and even bring my Amazon packages in from the rain. Tilly eagerly anticipates exciting play time with her Potomac Paws friends and I love knowing that she is getting what she needs when I’m away. I even get a lovely snapshot of her antics through their convenient app (see cute photo!) We enthusiastically recommend this invaluable community-based business!
We love the care and attention our dog gets from all the Potomac Paws employees. Love the updates and photos we get after each visit and the follow-up outside of visits if/when something is unusual that is observed by the Potomac Paws employee. We highly recommend Potomac Paws.
Ryan and his team have provided a lot of care for our beagles over the last couple years. We are so grateful for their love, energy, kindness, and gentle spirits with our pups. Our dogs LOVE the whole team and we always know we can trust them to provide timely, accurate, dependable and really cute feedback while we're away. The pics and thorough reports are always so appreciated! We highly recommend the Potomac Paws team for your work / travel pet care needs!
Ryan and his colleagues at Potomac Paws have taken wonderful care of my sweet dog for the past two years. The whole team is reliable, knowledgeable, and it is clear they all very much love animals. I always appreciate the note following each visit that describe how that visit went complete with pictures of their activities. There is always an open line of communication so that I can let them know of any changes and they can let me know if they see anything concerning. I have been very pleased with my experience with Potomac Paws and highly recommend them.
Potomac Paws provides exceptional daily service for our fur babies and we have been grateful clients for years. Potomac Paws staff are like family. They have helped potty train our young dog, they care for our elderly dog (on numerous medications with physical limitations) with such care and consideration. They are always there to step in and fill our pets’ needs when our schedules don’t allow. The owner and staff are truly wonderful. They are dedicated to excellent care and willing to go the extra mile for their clients. This is a one-of-a-kind pet provider!!!
We’ve worked with Ryan and the team at Potomac Paws since we moved to the Mt. Vernon neighborhood two years ago. Our dogs are 6 and 7 so we have experience working with a number of pet care providers. Ryan and his team are truly the best. Their custom app makes booking and communication easy. On top of that Ryan always responds to last minute changes and requests. We work with Potomac paws for anything from day visits to extended time away and are always comforted by the level of care we know our pups are getting.
We’ve been clients of Potomac Paws for three years. Their walkers are friendly, punctual and love pups. We appreciate their communications with clients and quick responses when we have schedule changes. We couldn’t make day to day life work without PP! 🐶 …
