Hilary was a fantastic pet sitter for our cat - you would be so lucky to have her care for your pet and home. She took exceptional care of her and our home. Hilary played so much with her and took the best care. She was communicative, easy to coordinate with, and left everything super clean for us when we came back. Five stars is understating how extraordinary she was - we cannot recommend her enough!!
Our review is written by Steven (house owner, host + my father) + also by Kim (the daughter). Written by Kim: This was our first house sit since the passing of my mother in late Dec 2023. I was helping my father Steven (whose profile it is) manage all the emails + try + find a great house sitter + came along Gretchen’s profile! Not only is she a cool cat + someone you might want to get to know, I found myself quickly talking to her. I shortly found out her profile is just a glimpse of how interesting she is but talking to her was so much better! She is a world traveler with many experiences + stories to share. We quickly became conversationalists who could talk forever + probably will continue to do so! Thank you TH! She is easy to communicate with + continued the consistent communication all along our journey of having her as our *first* guest after my mom’s passing. It was clearly a time filled with anxiety + sensitivity so there were some sensitive topics to go over + Gretchen got it right away. A few of our rooms in the house were off-limits (as they housed my mom’s things) but we reassured her the house has ample space for her to enjoy + there are many lovely outdoor spaces to boot! When she arrived she felt she was in paradise + really relished in the outdoor beauty + the indoor coziness. We were happy to share it with someone who appreciated it so much! She also was very understanding with the fact that both my dad + I would both be involved as we both handled different parts of the stay. Me, writing + setting up the Welcome Guide + would go over the situation but then upon her arrival my dad would take over + answer any questions mostly during her sit. The good part of having 2 people is she had accessibility to us both, in the case she needed it + sometimes it came up! She juggled all the communication oh so well. My mom usually handled most of the logistics so this being our first time we were nervous something would come up we might not know but it didn’t! It was new territory for us + we wanted to make sure she had everything. Gretchen handled it all with such ease, seamlessly, really respecting our wishes/desires + taking all the information into her hands + making it seem easy on her end to do so. She was easy to coordinate schedules with! There was a gap in her 1st + 2nd sit but everything went seamlessly even when my flight had a day long delay. She was able to coordinate schedules with me arriving in between, then leaving, my dad arriving different days + us extending the trip too. It all worked out! We were all a good team! She absolutely loved our older cat, Benny + he fast + furiously fell in love with her oh so easily. When I saw him, he looked oh so loved + after saying hi to me went over to ‘her’ bed + slept there waiting for her to come back. She sent many pictures, videos + even cute creations + toys she made for our Benny + it was obvious the house + our Benny were her first priority. She even asked us if she could help prune our flowers/shrubs, something my mom used to do + honestly it was an honor to hear her ask that. She was welcome to set up her art studio + play away. She was very communicative when our house cleaner, landscape gardener + house manager showered up for different reasons. When I arrived back for a short stint before she came back the 2nd time our mail was so well organized it was an assembly line! She also offered to take down our xmas tree (as we were a bit behind in taking down our xmas decorations) + she was sensitive to the fact that we were adjusting to a new normal. Thank you so much Gretchen! You made our first sit in a long time so seamless + such a relief that we are ready now to host again. We only wish we could have more Gretchen’s! (She’s also a super talented artist!) Written by Steven: Overall, Gretchen has been an absolute treasure. She has fulfilled our goals for a house sitter perfectly - she took good care of the house, great care of our treasured pet, Mr. Benny + took care of the grounds such as watering a few plants + trees. She excelled in all the above + is welcome back anytime I will be out of town in the future.
Kathryn was amazing. She helped me figure plans out after another sitter dropped out at the last minute and saved the day! My cat and fish were well taken care of, and she was super communicative when my tank had a problem child moment. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, helpful, and caring sitter!!
Kimberly was a wonderful sitter who watched our two cats for us while we were out. She was willing to come a day early to help acclimate herself with the animals, and this was exceedingly helpful in making sure the cats would be comfortable with her during our absence. I would highly recommend Kimberly if you're looking for a responsible, caring sitter.
Quinn was an amazing sitter for my cat Moon! She regularly checked in with updates on moon while we were away on a two week vacation, and seemed to give her plenty of attention, play with her, etc. Communication was easy and she left our apartment spotless after departing. Highly recommend her as a pet sitter!
Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.
Jenima is an excellent sitter! She is organized, communicative and flexible throughout the stay. We needed a sitter at the last minute because Jazz got sick, and Jenima saved us. We left a little worried about him, but Jenima took care of him really well and kept us informed. Cats love her! We definitely recommend her to take care of your pets!
Tracy was an ideal pet sitter when we left for 12 days. She was communicative, friendly, and most importantly took perfect care of our two cats and our house. I would highly recommend her for any sit!
Kristine was wonderful again as our local sitter from just down the street. The boys take to her like she is their best friend whenever she comes to sit with them. She sent us photos of them playing, relaxing, drinking water and eating so we knew they were well taken care of. The house and the cats were in excellent shape and excellent hands while we were away. It is wonderful that she enjoys the house and the cats so much and tells us so. Kristine comes with our highest recommendation! Thank you Kristine!
Steven was a great sitter for our black lab Souris and cat Pinot. They were well looked after and really liked Steven. Our house was in good order when we got back and Steven was kind enough to give us a lift to and from the airport. He was very flexible, arriving day early so we could show him around.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?

I have never experienced such friendliness from groomers. My pup Dominic loves getting bathed, and he especially loves it when Michelle is there to great him. He is always so soft, fluffy and happy after his bath, thank you for taking such good care of him.
We have been getting our English Springer spaniel has been going there for what we call Ozzie spa day. They go up and beyond to care for Ozzie. I know that they check him very closely all over for any problem there maybe that we have not noticed. Thank you for such great service. Rick MacMillan
Thank you, The Dog Place! Pepper was amazingly calm and content each time she returned home from being groomed. She was beautiful, her coat was soft, fluffy, and expertly trimmed along with the nails. I received great advice from the groomer and above all, we are always treated well.
This place is an awesome place to bring your kiddos🐾🐾, whether it's for daycare or grooming. They got you covered from head to toe. When I drop mine off, I know I have no worries they're in caplable hands by all staff. …
Was very pleased with our German Shepherds grooming, she looked so nice after her bath and combing. Not so much hair around the house today. Thank you for such a good job.
Can't say enough of how great That Dog Place is! The quality of service and the care of our dog was superb. We new our dog was in great hands and she was calm and comfortable throughout the grooming process. The owner also was very knowledgeable and gave us some great tips. We highly recommend anyone booking an appointment with That Dog Place. You will not be disappointed, thanks again!
NS works is in there..marks is a good store. The little bakery has coffee and baked goods. Tables to eat. Could use massage chairs. :)
What an incredible place! The staff is so friendly and accommodating and Michele is fantastic. Today he had his first grooming and he’s a whole new dog - so fresh, clean, not shedding, clean ears, wiggly and happy! Thanks guys!
Fully integrated boarding and grooming facility with amazingly large play areas for pets. Along with free time, organized play time for all dogs. Day rates and long-term rates are available. Friendly, courteous staff, headed up by Michele, super congenial owner of the facility.
Absolutely love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone with a dog, no matter the age or breed. Michelle the owner is an absolute sweet heart and shows how much she cares about the dogs. Super nice and clean facility, with 2 big outdoor fenced in areas. Best puppy social in the province.
Back in Antigonish county for the summer and needed 2 doggy'nails clipped. Called and told us to pop in the next day. Showed up at 1000 and left at 1020 with 2 happy dogs, all pedicured up. Thank you for your time to get us in so quickly.
I brought my 10 month old Yorkie to see Lucinda today. Very warm person. She trimmed his nails and bangs. Definitely going back. She's busy, two groomers on site. Very happy. Thank you.
Mia loves her haircut!! Thank you Lucinda 😃 …
Great place! My doggos love it!
I have a new puppy and I stopped in here to get a little information about daycare and grooming. The staff were not very welcoming at all. When I asked if i could see a glimpse of the facility they said no they were not allowed. Why the secrecy? I would never drop my dog off to somewhere that would not let me see where they will be spending their day. They made me feel very uneasy. Guess i will be finding elsewhere to give my business too.
Several years ago this slime ball Beat the teeth out of our 6 month old puppy and a investigating was launched by Doctor Jennings of the antigonisb vet as well as Coastal K9 on your dog's people another investigation is being launched due to stories coming forth from past employees. NO DOG DESERVES TO BE LOCKED AWAY FOR THE DAY , they trued to cover it up by bathing her but she could barely walk ...
My boy LOVES going to daycare at Happy Dogs. He can’t wait to go, spins out on the lobby floor because he’s so excited and can’t wait to greet the staff and play with the dogs. My only suggestion to anyone taking their dog is to drop them off with some food, depending on how long you are leaving them, since 5+ hours of play with no snack can leave them starving when they get home.
Local doggy daycare. Owner is very knowledgable and reminds me of Cesar Millan. Our pup always has a great time and is usually asleep in the car before we get home.
Picked up the pup after his last trim to find razor burn marks on his belly. Tried to contact staff/owner with no response. Had to physically go to location to get some response from staff. Owner, who was present, did not speak.
Lucy loved her visit with Lucinda for her grooming. Lucinda is very professional and does a lovely job!
We came in from out of town without having our reservation for the day fully confirmed as I was having problems doing it online and the owner I emailed the other day was on vacation but they still accommodated my Doodles and Golden. They went in excited, came out happy and tired. An added bonus was they didn’t smell gross leaving like some other kennels we’ve been to this was especially awesome as we are camping in a small trailer out of town. Staff was friendly and great with the dogs on drop off and pick up. Thank you for all you do. They’ll definitely be back! Tired pup pictures for attention.
We are new to Cape Breton and the adjustment of moving for our dog has at times been a challenge. Having Tracie and her team welcome our family to the lodge has been so helpful. We have a safe place for our pup to be taken care of when we need to leave her and access to Tracie for specialized training for our dog. Tracie works with us on the best approach for our dog and does not make you fit into a mould of basic training classes. Day two our training plan and our pup was making huge strides forward. We cannot thank Tracie enough for her time and her approach with us.
I did a "stayvacation" at the lodge for our 1 year old 12 lb morkie Peanut prior to our upcoming vacation and so glad I did!! Gave me peace of mind knowing my Peanut will be in great hands. I read up on their website, asked friends, family and at my vet who all had great things to say about "Island Dog Lodge" in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I met both Tracie and Terri who are both caring, passionate and put my mind at ease. Peanut had an absolute blast and he slept through the whole night. 😊 !! They have wonderful stories daily so you can view the interactions. A must read on their website. Peanuts looking forward to his next stay!! I keep him excited to return by saying "We're all going to the Lodge"!!
Friendly, caring, professional, and reliable. What an amazing place! The owners definitely have the right vision and care as much about the dogs as their clients as the human owners too. We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have found this kennel and grooming spot. They also provide excellent training for companions and owners. It is the whole package here. Even nutrition evaluation and custom nutrition for your pets needs.
Our dog Mavi has been coming here since we moved to Sydney last Spring. She always comes back happy and healthy! Thank you!
The lodge was clean, friendly, and well staffed. Daycare prices were reasonable. My senior dog enjoyed himself to the max, attested to by his lengthy nap once we got home!
Friendly, professional, and timely responses from staff. Convenient location as well! Millie loves her day lodging visits.
Amazing care and attention, they treat Pip like their fam jam and love her despite her quirky tendancies. Full trust.
The workers here are so sweet, very caring and the facility is clean and well taken care of. We will definitely be regulars !
Very friendly service. Nice and clean.. Highly recommend the Island Dog Lodge.. ps love the Dog Owner Videos
Very pleased with the grooming service here. We went there in the recommendation of several people who also get their dogs groomed here. We have no problem recommending this groomer to others. The price was very reasonable and the staff member friendly. She was done faster than expected and was cut as we wanted. We will definitely be going back.
There is no way to say enough about Paw-some Adventures. I’d give them a 10⭐️ if I could. My puppy HavoK has been going to their daycare now for several months and all I need to do is say “daycare” and he runs for the door and when we get there he runs for the door to where all the other dogs are and couldn’t care less about me. He’s had to go to boarding with them and this is where they stand out even more for being amazing. Kim has him at her house and spoils him and cares for him immensely. I had surgery and wasn’t able to look after him for a week and when I had complications and needed extra time she was more than happy to help me out. When I returned home I couldn’t drive and she brought him home to me just so I could have him back. I love being able to watch videos of them playing as well as the many funny pictures...and there are lots. Again, I can’t say how well looked after and cared for my HavoK is when with them. I’m worried he won’t want to come home lol. 😂🤣
I had requested my dog stay for a weekend and they required an assessment, while my boy was great with ppl and the other dogs his anxiety was through the roof. I was told they didn't think it was a good idea for him to stay there due to that. I wasn't charged for any time there and they chose my dogs well being over making money. I definitely recommend and hopefully one day my boy can over come his anxiety and will be able to stay there ❤️
The best grooming service in NS, and great customer service! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recently, i lost my cellphone in front of their daycare and everyone went out of their way to help me find it! I can't thank them enough! 🙏 …
My dog has been going weekly for over a year. Just loves it. When we drive to elmsdale he expects us to take the right turn at the lights to go to Day care. He is so disappointed when we drive by.
This facility is a staple of East Hants. From daycare, to grooming and boarding, the best care that you could ever ask for your dogs will be afforded. They really do treat them like family in every sense. The staff are amazing... so friendly and well trained. The place itself is always very well cleaned and the service has amazing value. Their prices are amazing and more than fair given the level of care (they will have your dog stay in their home if that’s what works best!). They regularly have puppy socials, fundraise for community members and their pets in need, have great relationships with other pet businesses in the community and take the utmost pride in what they do. Don't even consider going somewhere else. Here, your dog is home.
Currently evacuated/ likely homeless due to forest fire. Tried to find a safe place for my dogs to stay for a few hours while I shopped for groceries and clothing for our family rather than having my dogs locked in my car as we left with nothing. Unfortunately this business was not overly willing to help and was met with “ we cannot help today, and dogs need an intro day first.” Thanks for the help.
Impressive, great prices, best care and worth every penny. You can’t beat the care, fun, love and attention the fur babies get here. I’ve heard people say they think that a doggie daycare can be expensive but in the case of my dog sons it’s about the quality you get with it. I wouldn’t leave my dogs with anyone else when they can’t be with me. It reaffirms the fun they have when we go in and they freak out to see the staff and Kim like they’re their best friends. A dogs reaction and happiness is genuine so you know they love going there. Hands down the best daycare around and worth every penny.
Our girl is an absolute social butterfly and is always excited to go to 'Daycare'. She loves her time there and often comes home tired out for the night.
Bailey did an amazing job grooming our goldendoodle puppy!
John and his team at Camp Bow Wow are absolutely amazing. Bruno loves to attend daycare with all his doggy friends. The care he receives is exceptional and I am worry free when he is in attendance. Knowing that I can enjoy my time away from Bruno while he’s enjoying his time, makes a world of difference. I highly recommend this doggy daycare! Thank you to John and staff!
The owner and the staff are amazing! They treat my Cooper like their own & he knows when we turn the corner he’s going to camp with his friends. I never have to worry when he’s there for the day or boarding.
The staff really care about the dogs and their well being. Our rescue was gently introduced to other dogs and looked after. I am looking forward to having my other dog go there.
We cannot find enough words to properly convey the praises we have for Camp BowWow Halifax. The management treats everyone like "family". The "camp counselors", are ALWAYS demonstrating that they are sincerely & genuinely excited to see our little guy, and are very happy to see us too. We just have to say the words..."Camp Bow Wow"....and our dog starts jumping and dancing and races to our front door, then runs to the car, to leave, and go there. If he's that happy, then we're that happy! John & Joanne Kerr ( and Kobi )
Our dogs love Camp Bow Wow, it really is place where a dog can be a dog!! The staff and facility are amazing, hours are great and prices are reasonable. We've used a few since arriving in NS, and in our opinion, it's the best Doggy Day Care in the area!!
Norman loves camp bow wow and you can tell the staff are truly dog lovers. They treat the campers like they're family and Norman is always so excited to see them.
I adopted a ‘bonded pair’ about a year and a half ago. Shortly after I got them I took them to Camp Bow Wow so that they could socialize with other dogs. One of my dogs (Bailey) got sick at daycare. I guess she was stressed from all the changes she had endured, and developed hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. The staff responded immediately and I was notified promptly. Just recently this bonded pair decided that they want to be single. Bailey became extremely attached to me. She would not let Blaze near me, tried to steal her food, and toys. The dogs won’t even tolerate being in the same house without becoming aggressive towards each other. Bailey went to live with my daughter. Camp Bow Wow is proving to be a great help re socializing her. She is learning to trust and interact with the staff, and is actively playing with the dogs there. She is a much happier dog now. I give the staff at Camp Bow Wow a lot of credit for the vast improvement in Bailey’s quality of life. When Blaze starts back in a couple of weeks I fully believe that she will benefit just as much.
I bring my 2.5 year old husky to the Dartmouth location regularly. She absolutely loves going and I feel extremely comfortable bringing her there for daycare as the owner and staff are very caring with all of the dogs. As she is a little higher in energy due to her breed she sometimes requires more attention and she definitely receives it. The dogs are very well cared for and she always comes home very happy and very tired. Definitely recommend.
My little man attends daycare Monday - Friday and some weekends (he has separation anxiety) and they love him as much as we do. He gets so excited to go, they treat him so well. I never worry about him being cared for, I know he’s 100% safe. My other two attend occasionally and they love it so so much!
I was nervous about how camp bow wow would go for our galgo Django / he’s an anxious dog and is reactive on leash so I really wasn’t sure he’d be a good fit. But John and the other staff were very reassuring and explained how gradual his introduction to the other dogs would go and of course he got along great. We were very thankful for their patience and professionalism and look forward to his next stay there in a month or so! PS it meant a lot that they still remembered our late dogs Rhoda and Rafter, who were frequent campers there - many years ago now!
My family and I planned to visit the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. However, dogs are not allowed in the reconstructed area. So I decided to board Coco for the afternoon with Paws Awhile. Michelle was responsive to my emails. Coco came into heat during our trip so I was worried. When I called, Peter reassured me that the dogs do not interact with other dogs so Coco would be safe. That, I suppose, is the down side if you want your dogs to play with other dogs. They did not ask many questions about the dog i.e. medical records, behavioral issues etc. Coco is wary of new people so Michelle could not get her to go indoors. However, she worked around it and I appreciate the flexibility.
I was nervous leaving our puppy for the first time. But she was good and well cared for. We boarded her for only a few hours while on vacation from Ontario. Kennel was clean. A lot of other dogs. They took the time to put in some of the "barky" dogs so our puppy would feel more comfortable. She definitely didn't like being away from us for even a few hours. It was her first time being away. Would definitely recommend this place though.
DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. We needed to kennel our 2 dogs for a few days. My husband did up baggies of food for each dog , morning and dinner ones. Both dogs are on certain meds so it was important to do the baggies. My husband went to pick the dogs up , 2 of the bags were not used. Bottom line is, Peter told us they don't read the bags, so our dogs were given the wrong food and wrong meds. One of the dogs has blood coming out of his bum due to getting wrong food. My husband explained everything to the wife including meds being in the baggies of food for each dog. Maybe this place is ok for people that don't have a way to know if their dogs are being fed properly but we knew they weren't . Bowls were also filthy
Absolutely fantastic! We've left our Aussie, Crixus, here twice and each time we came back to a happy boy. He has his own private room and a big area to run around, complete with a horse friend. We recommend highly, they treat your dog like their own.
The owners were very friendly and made a point of getting to know my dog. She was only there for a day while I towards something and they were conscientious of not putting her in a stressful situation. They seem very knowledgeable about all their animals. I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy there.
Contacted the owner to watch our dog while we explored Fortress Louisbourg for the day. They were very accommodating and gave us lots of tips for exploring around the fort. Great option for those looking for a quick and easy place for their dog for the day!
After a few trips there that I learned my dog was not getting to play or be social with the other dogs. It was very heartbreaking 💔. That was there last time there!! They also don't ask for medical records to made sure your dog is up to date!! You don't sign papers to show you dropped off your pet, and so many other things to me are infractions!! WHAT WAS I THINKING . I BLAME MYSELF!!!! Ask questions, ask for a receipt to show you did drop off your family member and when your picking them up.... weird things happen these day and who knows , your best friend may not be there when you come back!!! What proof do you have they were ever there... A COVID MISTAKE I MY PART!!! BAD, BAD, BAD!!!
Peter and Michelle always take great care of our dog. The place is clean and its obvious they run an organized operation and care for the animals. Highly recommend them if you need a kennel for a day or longer.
Great folks to deal with, they are very good at what they do. Kennel is clean and feel safe leaving our pet with them. Highly recommend them
Looks like dog hell for any dogs that wouldn't be okay being left alone.
Our family and our doggo Charlie feel so lucky to have the Dog Company so close to us and be able to know and trust them to take such great care of him whenever he needs a sleepover and a play day with all his friends. The entire staff has always been so friendly and caring and keep us up to date with tons of pictures of his adventures during the day and even detail his interactions with certain friends he makes or plays with when he's not with is. We all appreciate it so much and even look forward to seeing photos of Charlie playing in the water or running around with his friends. Highly, highly recommend.
I am super happy with the choice we made for my dogs overnight. I feel the staff were amazing and are super attentive to the dogs and their needs. They were also very helpful! I can tell they really care for the dogs here!
My pup loves this place and always comes home so tired! They’re very aware of different dog needs, and will ease your pooch into group sizes that it is comfortable with. Plenty of indoor & outdoor play space, as well as the option for boarding and a great little shop for some pet food & supplies.
Our Aussies Gus and Juni have been going for almost two years now. They love it. Gus even has a favourite staff member who he greets like family. I thought I would NEVER board my dogs but we felt comfortable doing so at the dog company since the employees there go above and beyond for our pups at daycare during the day and our guys were able to stay in a little suite together instead of in a crate apart which would be been out of their routine! We love you DC!
We have 2 dogs that go here quite often (daycare and boarding). The staff here go above and beyond with everything they do. You can tell they really love and care for people's dogs like they were their own. Thanks TDC!
We take our two dogs here a few times a month. One dog is a daycare pro, but the other one can become overwhelmed... the staff here tailor his playgroups to set him up for success and it is so amazing that he gets the chance to socialize comfortably and burn off some energy. We have done some training through them as well as nail trimmings... they really can offer it all. Super happy with our experiences here.
We have had our 9 month old Lab Daisy here a few times, most recently we boarded her for 6 nights. They provide great care and we felt at ease while away knowing she was in good hands. On her final day here she was nipped in the ear by a puppy and they stopped the bleeding and made sure she was ok until we could arrive to pick her up. This was just an unfortunate incident and no fault of the Dog Company. They managed the situation very well, I couldn’t have asked for more.
Such an amazing place. My pup has issues with making friends and yet the style of daycare and boarding offered here allows for my pooch to play and have fun all the same! We spent way too long trialing other places and wish we had of found TDC much sooner!
The Dog Company is such an amazing place to bring your dog! Stephanie and Ariana are so passionate about what they do, I wouldn't even consider bringing my dog anywhere else. Their facility has everything and more that your animal will ever need. It's really comforting knowing my dogs are in such great hands and learning such great things while having fun doing so!
My dogs adore this spot! They always have fun and do so good. The training was also super helpful. My rescue dog enjoys it and the staff are always so good with them!
We had our two dogs go in for grooming. The appointment for our German shepherd was at 11 and our golden was at 3. I explained to them our concerns and expectations, they said they had no problem and could handle it. At 12:30 my husband was called that the pups were done and ready for pick up, this we were surprised about because they were suppose to be getting the works; bath, blowout, de-shed, nails cut and trim for the golden. We live about 45 minutes away from town so he headed out right away. Upon pick up, both dogs were very very wet (even after waiting 45 minutes for pick up), they did not do much trimming on the golden and did not really de-shed either dog. I called when we arrived home to address the concerns, the woman on the phone stated that both dogs were very anxious and they did not want to dry them further with fear of over heating them, my previous groomer never had an issue. For those that have a GSD, you know that a towel try usually does the trick, so I was unsure why they were both so wet. I also addressed the fact that with them being very wet how was proper de-shedding possible, she stated that the groomer did her best. They also butchered the haircut on my goldens ears 😭 see pictures. After this experience I will not be going back there, I understand that dogs are anxious in new places but you are stating that you have years of experience, you should be able to dry a dog (even with a towel) to continue with the grooming. Very disappointed in this experience. Also, their entire parking lot is mud, so getting your dogs bathed there seems pointless 5 seconds after you leave the building. I will continue to use the pet valu bathing program as honestly, I can do better myself and for a fraction of the price. Once again, very disappointed, well at least they smelt good 👍🏻
Alex and the gang have been amazing with Oskar for the past 11 years! He loves his time at doggy daycare, and we love the way the staff have been caring for Oskar since he was a puppy. He's a senior now, and still loves his doggy daycare people and friends! What a great experience!
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Very lucky to have that depth and range of behavior experience here in Pictou County!
Good dog works is wonderful! My boxer pup loves daycare so much. The staff are so sweet and friendly, Caswell gets so excited when we pull in and he sees everyone. Can’t recommend them enough.
I always take my two dogs to Good Dog Works and am treated with nothing but respect! My dogs are normally quite anxious while getting groomed but seem to have an overall great experience here. I highly recommend Erica Cameron, as she is excellent with my pups, and a fantastic groomer! 10/10 would recommend everyone go here!!
I highly recommend Erica Cameron at good dogs work!! Erica has groomed my dog many times, very friendly and caring as she takes her time to make sure my dog is comfortable and well loved while she’s with her. My dog Marley is usually an extremely anxious dog, but grew such a love for Erica! She always looks amazing after she’s done! I can’t say enough how amazing she is at her job!!
I think they do a great job cutting my dogs nails. They are very sweet with him, my only concern is how hard it is to get ahold of them to make an appointment . Sometimes I call 2 times a day for over a week straight before getting ahold of someone… my boyfriend has called and left messages and they never call back as well. If this were to be rectified I’d definitely recommend them more often to others.
I’ve been taking my dog Cooper to see Erica at Good Dog works since Christmas. To say it simply, I’m beyond impressed with Good Dog works and Erica. Cooper is a shy, sometimes timid dog, but he is always excited to see Erica! He hates getting baths at home, therefore, it’s great to have such a safe and lovely environment to bring him to! Erica has the perfect touch and I am always overly happy with the quality of care and attention she puts into Cooper. I highly recommend Good Dog works and Erica. 10/10 experience every time.
The staff at Good Dog Works are absolutely wonderful! Our two dogs love going, so we have peace of mind when we leave them there while we travel. Highly recommend them for both their daycare and boarding services!
Riley absolutely loves it here as do we❤ He is treated like one of their own and that means everything 🐕 Thank you for the training, grooming and fantastic day care, Riley, Shannon &Kim …
