I love Indian Bridge Kennels. The staff are friendly and professional and the facility is clean. I also love Dawn who does the grooming services. She always gets my Yorkshire terrier looking and smelling great. My dog seems happy when I drop him off and pick him up. I also like that they offer doggie daycare, and that they post pictures of your furbabies on Facebook so you can see what they're up to while you're away.

We were nervous first timers and quickly felt comforted about our decision after speaking to the staff and seeing pictures of Daisy at play time. We will definitely bring her back!

The BEST OF THE BEST!!!! My GRANDPUPPY LOLA gets extremely excited to get dropped off and be extremely sad when I pick her up. She really loves to come to Indian Bridge and the staff is extremely friendly!!!! I could NOT have ask or find a better dog daycare/boarding place. Sophie loves the place. She is shy at first but once she starts getting all the pamper and care from the staff she just loves to be there. They take care of her making sure that she is happy and love just like she was at home. I was concerned about a good place to leave Sophie when I have to go out of town for work and this is the place. We will have another experience here soon leaving for a whole week and I know she will be in good hands. Thank you so much for all the care to our Sophie and the pictures just fill my heart with joy.

We have a 3 years old rescue who has never done will with boarding. She would often not eat and be lethargic when she came home. That was not our experience with Indian Bridge. We boarded our dog for 2 weeks this summer while we traveled to visit family and my heart was put to rest the moment we stepped in. It is a beautiful, clean facility. The front desk person was delightful. Everything about this place felt right. They take the dogs out 4 times a day, 2 of which are playtimes. They offer a military discount and they did a great job trimming my dogs nails. I highly recommend this place!

Our lab LOVES Indian Bridge. He is routinely there for boarding and daycare. It's nice to have somewhere our doggo loves to be when we are away.

Mutt gets excited about a half mile away when arriving. Tail wags, no sense that the pooch is being abandoned or left with strangers. Place is clean & professional. It gives me a peace of mind when on travel. The photos posted of reflect my earlier comments. Recommend Indian Ridge over comparable kennels that i use to use.

Have been bringing my dog for weekday daycare for about 2 weeks now. He has always been well taken care of and has a good time. Rate is very reasonable, facilities are clean, and staff are prompt and courteous.

We are so thankful to live nearby 4 Pets’ Sake and to have their services available to us! After a few very bad experiences with Rover and dog boarders, we were desperate for an in-house option for our dog — someone professional, reliable, and kind. And thankfully, we found all of that with 4 Pets’ Sake! Each time we’ve contacted them, they’ve been so communicative and thorough — and they seem to understand all the concerns of a pet owner/homeowner, which is a huge relief. We really appreciated their interview process so we (and our pup) could meet the sitter and ensure we were all comfortable with each other. Also, they make scheduling and payment so easy, and their whole system is so modern and efficient. Their online dashboard is great to work with. We were so grateful to them when I went into labor with our baby. They were quick to respond and very flexible, which was such a relief in a very stressful situation. Oh! And we LOVE their email reports with photos after each visit! Such a nice touch that really makes us feel like our dog is being taken care of and loved in our absence. They are definitely our new go-to local dog sitter/walker, and we are so grateful to them! Highly recommend!

I have been using 4 Pet's Sake for a number of years now and their people are great. We have one wonderful woman, Sharon, who is the primary care taker of our cats. She is very reliable and always looks out for their health. If one of our cats is hiding, she always tracks them down to make sure all is OK. When I lived in Virginia I used another service that was not nearly as professional and responsive. These folks will call if they don't hear from you by your expected arrival time. Having 4 Pet's Sake taking care of the cats allows me to have a truly relaxing vacation.

I seriously can't say enough how wonderful everyone at 4 pets sake is. We moved here from CA and were in need of a reputable and reliable pet care service. My 3 kitties love and adore Ruth and everyone else! They make the whole process seamless and are extremely thorough and professional. Kelly is fantastic about getting back to you quickly and answering all your questions via email! They have an incredibly fair rate that covers much more than just the actual pet care! Love being able to go out of town and know that my pets and house are in great hands with 4 pets sake!

Four Pets' Sake is a wonderful service. Carol, our cat sitter, is a saint. We have too many cats, and when we go out of town she cares for them cheerfully and without complaint. She leaves us a day-to-day report on who she sees and their shenanigans. Terry in the office is a gem, very pleasant to talk to and quite efficient. They've been able to serve our needs in an emergency more than once. Making reservations on the website is very convenient. I'd recommended Four Pets' Sake to anyone.

My dog Socks has impeccable boarding care & amazing walks from special people at 4 Pets' Sake! They are attentive to details in my home, and after five years; I am still blown away at how much they care about all aspects of their visit. From pulling in trash cans, to turning on my alarm when I forget to set-it myself. It is absolutely wonderful to know people exist who really care about people & our fur babies! We are so thankful that we found 4 Pet's Sake to take care of our two puppies. The owner, Terri, is awesome to work with and she and Kelly have always come through for us on any last minute requests, no matter how short of notice. Yvonne is our primary dog walker and our puppies LOVE her. She takes very good care of them, with lots of love, walks and romps. They so look forward to her twice daily visits. We get a "report card" every day that tells us how our puppies were feeling, what they did on their walks, etc. We always refer to Yvonne as their second mother. She is the best and we are truly blessed that we found this company and Yvonne.

I have been using 4 Pet's Sake for many many years. I've also had the same sitter almost every time, which is nice because now my cats feel comfortable with her. The sitter also leaves very detailed notes of each visit, which is fun to read when I get back home. I have 7 cats and that's a lot of feeding, scooping and playing, so I think the price is very reasonable too. They are always quick to respond to my requests, even on short notice. I highly recommend them.

4 Pet's Sake has consistently provided the best care for my dog . . . and he is not the easiest dog! I know he is in good hands when 4 Pet's Sake is caring for him. This service is the best! They have taken great care of our cats and dogs for years. Last year our dog Ginger had surgery unexpectedly and needed mid-day care because we both work full-time. They took care of her with little notice. We are always confident that our dogs and cat are being well taken care of. They really care about what they do. We love this kennel. They are very friendly and help keep our fur friend happy and healthy. They keep you up to date if anything is wrong and will help solve the problem. My dog always has a good time

This was my first time boarding Lucy with Calypso. Staff gave us a tour as requested before boarding her showing all the areas with explanations of the use. We liked the concept of Lucy having her own kennel and outside run - while she is ok around other dogs, it's not her norm. She would much rather be around people - here they take the dogs on "potty break walks" and provide options for yard time (ie, a large fenced area where the dog can run free/play/do zoomies). They have several options you can add to the daily room fee to tailor the pups visit. Lucy stayed 5 days. Calypso provided a verbal and a written summary of her stay (activity level, how she ate, any noted bowel changes, what she seemed to enjoy - for Lucy it was lying in the sun on her external run). We rarely board Lucy - we take her most everywhere we travel. It's great to have a place available near home that pays good attention to her, provides her with a safe environment (ex, air conditioning, back up generators in case of a power outage, daily cleaned kennel, etc) and keeps us informed.

This was our first experience using Calypso Kennels. We will definitely be using them again. Our dogs have never been to a kennel before and having the peace of mind that they were safe and well taken care of is priceless.

I used Calypso Kennels for the first time last week. I boarded my dog Thursday -Monday. The staff was very nice and professional. The facility is maintained very well. They took very care of my dog and even gave him a bath! I plan to use them for future boarding and daycare.

I cannot recommend Chesapeake Pet Resort and Day Spa enough! I live in SC, but was in town to assist my parents while my Mom had a procedure in DC. I was very nervous about boarding my pups at a facility with which I had no direct experience, but selected Chesapeake Pet Resort based upon their reviews and the photos on their FB page showing myriad happy dogs every day. I’m so glad I chose them. I was able to see my pups’ smiling faces in photos every day I was gone and knew by their demeanor in the photos they were receiving exceptional care. They were happy to spend time with Laura and her team and basically only left because I told them they had to. Next time I have a need for any of the services they offer, I will definitely return.

I have been taking my 3 dogs to Chesapeake Pet Resort and Groomers for years, my dogs have always been well taken care of, they usually get a cabin where they stay together. Laura the owner makes sure they are well and happy, and Autumn who grooms my fur babies does a great job, I fully recommend them!!!

Laura, Mary and their staff are always so amazing, whether it's doggy daycare, dog boarding or pet boarding, they always try to accommodate and make things work because they truly care about the pets that you entrust in their care and safety. I have a special needs cat that requires medication and can't jump or go up/down steep ramps. Laura did so much to help make my cat's boarding experience truly wonderful and stress-free. I also really appreciate and love that Laura lives on site so that way I know that if anything ever happens with my pet overnight, she is there to watch and take care of them.

I love this place. They are so friendly and they make my dog and I feel so welcome! I was recommended to them by a friend of mine who said they could help me groom my dog. I am so glad I came here. I’ve brought my dog to Chesapeake Pet Resort and Day Spa 3 times for grooming and not once have I been disappointed! They take great care of my dog AND they are quick. Somehow, my dogs smells good for WEEKS after and I just want to love her even more! I highly recommend this place and I soon hope to get my dog in here for day care.

Jenn! That woman is a godsend. Took my pups last minute, treated them like the royalty they deserved, and came out better looking than me. That's not saying much I know, but still the point is still the same. To continue, the compound was well maintained, user friendly to navigate, the animals were well taken care of, and greeted with smiles from both staff and patrons. I will be going back, I will be requesting Jenn, and I will be satisfied with the work they do AGAIN!

I have boarded my dog here and take him to doggy daycare a couple times a week. I believe he absolutely loves this place because he is sad when he doesn’t go, and when he does go he is extremely excited. Everyone there is really nice and care about the animals. I HIGHLY recommend this place due to the following: friendliness, cost, cleanliness, communication, staff, and the facility. I have absolutely no gripes about this place. I trust them with my baby.

Our dog loves this kennel. If you are not thrilled by the high prices and unnecessary frills of other kennels, Four Paws is just what you need. Our dog is always super happy when we pick her up. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they really love dogs.

First time at this location. Furbaby is a regular at Richmond and the care for him here for overnight was great and seamless given he is in the network already. This location is tucked away but is newer it appears and the staff is great just like in Richmond. Kudos to the social media posts.

I love the staff! My rescue dog was anxious and apprehensive around other dogs and unfamiliar people but with the time and attention she's received from their compassionate staff she's transformed into a happy outgoing dog.

Do not let your dogs board here! My husky stayed there from Sunday until Friday and when she was was picked up she had sores all on her nose and she is not acting like herself she seems very traumatized. I was informed the day before that she tried to get out of her cage breaking it in the process and that’s how she got the sores but when I asked for pictures of the cage I was told by amanda, the manager, that she would send them to me. 2 hours had passed and I called back to see what had happened and I was told she was in the bathroom but she would call me back and 30 mins passed and still no call and when I tried to call no one answers. For your dogs safety I REPEAT DO NOT LET YOUR DOG STAY HERE! How did she tear up a cage or even begin to tear up a cage without anyone noticing?

i've boarded my dog here for at least a year, perhaps coming up on two. he loves this place deeply, as soon as he sees the staff it's like his parents don't exist anymore with how excited he is to see them. my dog had a sudden, serious medical episode while being boarded. as terrifying as the ordeal was to deal with remotely, 4paws didn't just go above and beyond for me -- they moved mountains. amanda and camden, two employees, leapt into action and took care of my dog as if he were their own. they drove him to multiple vets looking for an opening, eventually going all the way to richmond's emergency vet because that was the only option with capacity that day. those two stayed with my dog in the emergency vet for well over 12 hours total (well into the next morning), with constant communication and photo updates of my dog the entire time. they both also had an impeccable positive attitude throughout the entire ordeal, which made me (and my dog too im sure) stay calm. even the vet commented on how comfortable my baby was to be with those two, which was great to hear even though i already knew he loves them. amanda and camden are the absolute peak of pet care professionalism, leadership, and most importantly, pet health. i will forever be grateful to amanda and camden for their dedication to making sure my dog was safe and healthy regardless of distance and time consumption. 4paws treats their clients' pets like their own children and i will always owe them more than i can ever repay for being there with my baby when i was states away and could not be there myself.

They rejected one of my dogs all because of her breed. She is a pit mix. But she is the sweetest dog ever. Wish people and places wouldn’t judge just by the breed🤦‍♀️ …

We needed 4Paws to give our dog meds at a certain time before our arrival to pick her up, so we called when on our way there. Had to leave a VM because there was no answer. Rather than having to wonder if they got the message and gave her the meds, Ashley (sp?) called us back within a cpl mins to confirm both receipt of the msg and the passing of said msg to those who give meds to the dogs. Thx, Ashley, for making it so that my wife didn’t stressbox, wondering if our dog got the meds she needed.

I have been taking my dogs there for boarding and daycare. Their staff is always welcoming very friendly They take care of my dogs like they were their own. I truly appreciate all their efforts and caring they put into what they do every day and for my dogs. I highly recommend this place.

We adopted a 10 month old Beagle who's energy was out of this world. The first day of Doggie Day Care was amazing The staff greeted him with love, checked on him when I called and gave me a report when I picked him up. He is happy to be there and it is because of the staff and his new dog friends. Even our new vet said this was a good place.

This five star review is for the groomer at Pets at Play (can’t speak to daycare or boarding, as I’ve never done either). I have a 9 year old doodle and trust me, finding a groomer who is not only willing to groom your doodle but also does it well and with a good attitude (many get annoyed) is rare. I always leave happy! He does a great job and in my experience $100 for ~the works~ is affordable. So glad to have found him!

Our little dog loves boarding here. She plays with her little dog friends and gets meals on time. Grooming here is first rate. We bring her in every six weeks. There's a new groomer and he's great

My dog loves Pets at Play! I have been taking Ollie to Pets at Play for daycare, overnight boarding and grooming for over a year now. He is a sweet but sensitive dog. Pets at Play is the only dog boarding and grooming place in RVA that he enjoys going to and being at. The groomer is always very thoughtful about grooming Ollie the way I like. She called me before she groomed Ollie just to confirm she knew what I wanted from his cut. Very blessed to have Pets at Play in our lives

When I tell you my baby loves this place!!! He is a mamma's boy, if he doesn't know you he will not go near you. BUT when we come to Pets at Play he runs right through the door to the day care and grooming! He comes home tired from day care so I know he is playing and having fun!!

Only been here a few times but I am now a loyal customer! They must be doing something right, because now every time I walk my dog he tries to pull me in the direction of Pets At Play. He is so ecstatic every time we go, I am starting to bring him there just for fun in addition to out of necessity! Do note: if your dog is over 70 lbs they won’t be able to be boarded overnight due to kennel sizes, but they do wonderfully accommodating larger dogs in daycare! My pup loves Pets At Play!

Came here for their grooming services and was not disappointed! They were polite and informative when I called with questions and were super friendly in person. And they made my pup adorable! Will definitely return for future grooming services and daycare services.

My westie,, Tucker loves this place to play. I think he has a girlfriend there. They are kind, courteous and true animal lovers. This is the only place he’ll play with other dogs as he never plays outside my home with any other dogs male or female.

I booked grooming for my dog a month ago and was very clear (in writing) about his large size (~100 pounds) - they even said it was fine in writing. I drove 40 minutes to get there and as soon as I was pulling into my neighborhood after drop off, the groomer called to say that my dog was too heavy to fit on the table/a leg of the table was breaking. He made sure to mention that it was not my dog's fault at all/he was fine. He said he has been trying to get new equipment for grooming from management but they're refusing. What type of table doesn't hold 100 pounds? I drove for 2 hours total between 7:00am and 9:00am all because they couldn't provide the groomer the correct equipment to provide grooming services to my dog. It's not his fault in my opinion, but if he knew that size would be an issue, they should have let me know well in advance, as I had booked it a month ago. My dog used to go to Pets at Play about two years ago and there were not issues then (and he was around the same weight). Very disappointed in the lack of communication and lack of resources to provide grooming services. A word of advice to management: do not advertise grooming for dogs of all sizes/approve grooming for larger dogs if you cannot actually do it.

We used to be faithful Pets at Play customers for over 3 1/2 years, having taken our 4 year old since she was a puppy, and our 6 month old for a solid year at least two days a week for each. Over that time, we’ve provided them thousands of dollars in revenue, somewhere around $8k-$9k between daycare, baths and the occasional boarding. In March of 2019, we sent our older dog in for her regular daycare appointment and requested she get a bath and her nails trimmed. When we got her home, we noticed she was licking her paw quite a bit and saw one of her nails was badly damaged, split, and beginning to ooze pus. No one at Pets at Play called or told us her nail was damaged, even though they said her nails were cut. We emailed the owner with our concerns and received a call back from an employee, who specifically told me she was calling as to not cause any confusion, but they could not get their story straight. To me, it sounds like they didn’t want a paper trail of any potential responsibility. One person said the nails were cut, then the groomer said they did not need to be cut. If the nails got cut, why did no one tell us they damaged her nail? If they did not need to get cut, that obviously means you checked them all, right? And if you saw one was damaged, why were we never told? Whatever the case, our dog went to daycare just fine, but left with a badly damaged nail which required sedation and surgery the next day to the tune of $275 in vet bills. Whether our dog’s nails were cut, Pets at Play was negligent at best, and deceptive at worst in trying to conceal or claim ignorance of her injury. Finally, to add insult to injury (literally), I went into their online system that weekend to cancel the next two daycare reservations (because our dog needed to be at home to recover from surgery), and they had deleted all of her reservations for the next year without telling us. I never said anything to them, so why would they delete our standing reservations? It doesn’t seem like a good business practice to alienate loyal customers as we have been for years. The way Pets at Play treated our dog, my wife and me is no way to treat loyal customers. We’ve always enjoyed taking our dogs to Pets at Play for daycare and boarding, but I no longer have any faith in how they treat us or our dogs. We will not be returning, nor can I recommend their services.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful PETs at PLAY is! Dixie knows when I say "want to go see your friends" exactly where she is going and doesn't even look back when we hit the door! That is how I know, PETs at PLAY is the absolute BEST. Dixie has only ever stayed the night in her entire 11 years with my parents, PETs at PLAY and me. I LOVE the emailed pictures throughout the day of her literally smiling and having fun! I am particular because she is such an important part of my life and choosing a daycare and place to board seemed impossible until we experienced PETs at PLAY. Dixie's excitement when talking about, going to and spending time here is exactly why PETs at PLAY will be the only place we go!

Since we found On-Guard we can travel and have the peace of mind of knowing that Tawny will come in and take control. Our toy poodles are timid around strangers but Tawny won them over from the start. She is very dependable and always gives them special attention to keep them happy while we're away. She is great at keeping us advised and sends pictures to let us know things are fine at home. Her expertise in animal health and wellness far exceeds anything we've experienced with other pet sitting services. On-Guard is the only pet sitting service for us!

After moving to the area about a month ago, I was nervous about finding someone to watch my dog while I was at work. After meeting Tawnya and having her take care of my baby every day, I realized I should have never been nervous. Tawnya goes above and beyond for the dog and for me. I know Luna is happy to see her and she is extremely well taken care of while I am not home. Tawnya has even helped me get acclimated to the area and will do some light housekeeping chores if she has time as an added bonus during her pet visits. She has brought my baby new toys and treats. She even sends me the most amazing pictures of my dog every day. If you need a pet sitter look no further, there is no one better. Your pet will be in the best hands 😊

We have used On-Guard Professional Pet sitting to watch our 5 year old beagle and our cat for several vacations that lasted over seven days. I have to say that Tawnya is very professional, courteous, and trustworthy. Both pets were very well taken care of while we where away... with many photos of doggy and kitty playtime; and the house was even a bit tidier than when we left. Thanks....

Tawyna (On Guard Pet Sitting) is the greatest pet sitter we've ever had. She goes above and beyond to make you feel at ease while you're away and she seriously spoils your pets. She took care of our three cats and bunny while we went out of town and they were seriously happy campers. We got a lot of awesome pictures of all our pets throughout out trip and very thorough feedback on everyone's well being. Tawnya even brought a bunch of toys for my pets to play with (one of which is still my cat's fav of all time). It's also worth noting that she's really knowledgeable on pet health and warning signs to look out for which helps put you at ease even more. Tawnya's awesome and if we still lived in the Colonial Beach area we'd be calling her all the time to take care of our pets.

I have nothing but good things to say about Tawnya from On-Guard. My wife and I are gone at work all day and she takes all the stress out of leaving our dogs at home. Tawnya is very reliable and loves our fur babies like they are her own. We even get updates and pictures every day to let us know how everything is going. I highly recommend On-Guard for anything from drop-ins to overnight stays.

This being the first time leaving our kitties with a professional pet sitter, we could not have been more happy with the service that Tawnya provided! She goes above and beyond - she took great care of our fur babies, took care of little things around the house that I forgot about and even brought toys for our puppy who had traveled with us. I think our kitties were madder that we came home than that we left! That's a first! I couldn't recommend her more!

Finding OnGuard Petsitting/Tawny has been a Godsend! She has done a wonderful job winning over my neurotic rat terrier (Ellie) and spastic shih- tzu mix (Fritz)! She spends a lot of time with them - walking, playing, brushing, etc. If it's raining or too cold, she still finds something to occupy their time and drain some of their energy. Fritz and Ellie look forward to her visits and so do their Mom! Tawny does extra little caring things, like leaving the front porch light on, dog treats on Valentine's Day and those few dirty dishes always seem to be clean after her visit! Tawny was a blessing when I had a recent family illness - she went above and beyond the call of duty. She is more than a petsitter -- she truly cares and I am grateful to have found her!

We have been using Tawny before she opened OnGuard for pet sitting for a couple of years and she is great. Before we had found out our cat was diabetic as he was having trouble with increased hunger and using his litter to much and being lazy. Tawny had come to us with concerns and we went to the vet and found out our cat was diabetic like Tawny suspected. She not only was able to figure it out for us, but she also knows how to get his blood from his ear and knows how to give him the shot. We also have two dogs and she is very close to our pets like they are hers. She always goes beyond what is expected of her. She also knows that Chesters shots need to be 12hours apart and has no problems coming early and late for Chester. She will always be the only other person beside my husband and I to care for our pets. She is the best.

Tawnya, is great with both of my dogs. They are on strict portion controls and have to be separated when feed. She took care of everything for me for the weekend while I was gone. I got updates and pictures from her. Totally stress free.

We boarded our 2 dogs for 9 days. This place was amazing with them. The place is clean, the staff was kind with great customer service. Our dogs are high maintenance with some anxiety and allergy issues. They had no problems and were completely taken care of! I would recommend this place 1000 times over!

Love this kennel and doggy daycare! The owners are the kindest caring people I know. Darius and Jamie really love what they do! Our border collie Patrick has been going there for many years. He is always well loved, exercised, cared for and all his basic needs are met. We have a difficult time getting him to go home when we pick him up. Thanks you for being such a great place to board my dog.

The owners and staff at Dobe Run are awesome! They have always taken excellent care of our dogs and were extra helpful and flexible during a recent extended stay of a sick family member's dog. The facility is very clean with plenty of room for dogs to get outdoor exercise during their stay. I highly recommend Dobe Run Kennel and appreciate the excellent customer service provided by the owners and staff!

The staff is amazing and my dogs love them. They no longer offer full grooming , but still do baths. Their daycare options are great if you don't need overnight.

We take our fur baby to Dobe Run at least 3 times a year! He gets so excited when we pull in and when we walk in they know him and his tail wags and he runs to the staff! I would recommend them to every pet owner!!!!

We couldn't have been happier with Dobe Run and their daycare services! The staff was very welcoming and accommodating for our dog Hank while were on vacation in Gloucester, VA. He must of had a great time too because on the second day he jumped out of the truck and dragged me inside... I'd say that's doggy language for "this place is great!" :) Thank you for taking such good care of him!!

Love these guys. Our high strung cocker always runs right in. They seem to spend plenty of time with the dogs and our dog never seems to mind being left, even tho he is quite happy when he gets picked up.

Generally, my dogs are anxious creatures but they always leave Dobe Run happy! I love how many "layers" of fencing they have, the facility is clean and safe, and the staff is great with my pets. I definitely recommend trusting Dobe Run with your pets!

Our dog stayed there one night and everyone and everything seemed great. Our dog goes back for a week's stay soon, we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping I will be "upgrading" my review to 5 stars after that. Very clean facility.
