Toby and Chloe were amazing pet sitters. It wasn’t the easiest sit - a nervous dog and 3 cats with various ailments and medication to have, but they took it all in their stride and cared for them so well without any issues. Our nervous dog Zelda warmed to them in just 2 days which is a record for house sitters so far! I also really enjoyed getting to know them over dinner the night before I left, they’re very easygoing and positive people. They also left the house spotless for when I came back. I would love to have them sit for us again. You can rest assured your house and animals are in safe hands with this lovely pair!
Chris and Julia were our very first sitters and are the most perfect house/pet sitters anyone would ever want!!! Julia sent video/pictures of our fur babies everyday and we noticed early on that our animals were very relaxed and happy!! This made our trip so enjoyable and stress free knowing that our animals were safe and being spoiled and loved the whole time. They even trained our dog to sit while her leash was being attached and was able to pet and hold our cat that is somewhat nervous around strange people he doesn't know. When I got back from the trip, the house was very clean along with Julia/Chris had washed the bed sheets, bath towels, vacuumed, dusted etc., and even washed the pet bedding. They also left some SE Asia treats for us to try which so sweet of them. Definitely the perfect house sitters!!!
Nia is a wonderful sitter - punctual, considerate, caring, and tidy, and also a lovely person, who I enjoyed spending time with before and after the sit. While I was away Nia sent photos and videos of my cats Tommy and Arthur every day, with witty updates and observations on their personalities and behaviours, and it was obvious that they adored her. Arthur has a mild neurological problem, so it was particularly reassuring to know that Nia feels especially connected to animals with specific physical or emotional needs, and knowing this contributed hugely to my peace of mind while I was away. I have no hesitation in recommending Nia as a sitter.
We are thoroughly pleased with and impressed by Daniel's kind, generous, and careful care of our cat and our house. He is a committed and experienced sitter who completely understands his role and responsibilities and also how to gently win the confidence and affection of a pet. He is an excellent communicator, and he kept us regularly up to date on our cat's well being--sending us texts and photos at least once/week as we requested. Our cat who is a little afraid of new people, grew fond of him, and we have returned to a very calm, contented cat. We highly recommend Daniel, and we ourselves would be thrilled to engage him again when the need arises.
Sabre is a sweet, honest person who stepped up at the very last moment (after the prior sitter flaked out) to watch our dog and cat for 17 days. When there were a couple minor accidents, she informed us of them right away. One involved a burnt pan (easy to do if you’re not familiar with an induction stovetop) which she offered to replace. Sabre also washed the towels and sheets, and made up the bed before we got home. The yard was pooper scooped and litter box was clean. Pets seemed well-cared for. When she had to leave town for several hours one day, she made sure to arrange for our neighbor take care of the pets. Additionally, I appreciated how she didn’t assume that it would be ok to bring her cat. When we found out she was going to keep her cat in a kennel during her stay here, we told her she could bring him which worked out fine. Overall, I would confidently recommend Sabre to watch your pets and house.
Kimberly was a wonderful sitter who watched our two cats for us while we were out. She was willing to come a day early to help acclimate herself with the animals, and this was exceedingly helpful in making sure the cats would be comfortable with her during our absence. I would highly recommend Kimberly if you're looking for a responsible, caring sitter.
Nathalie and John were great! They were great house sitters to watch our two dogs, 2 geckos, our old cat and bull frog. Their two girls took good care of the animals as well. The house was exactly how we left it. We really appreciated their help!
Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Your fur babies would be lucky to spend time with her. Thank you again for everything, Ruthee!
Elyse was one of the best pet sitters we've ever met! Couldn't recommend her more. We hope she stays at our place again. She sent many pictures of our beloved cats throughout our absence. We returned to our cats seeming relaxed and happy as ever. She also left our apartment sparkling clean. 10/10 :)
Heidi was an outstanding cat sitter for my Luna! She was very communicable via calls or texts. She followed all my guidelines for feeding and care of Luna. Luna was very content when I arrived home thanks to Heidi! My home was immaculate when I arrived and she did some snow shoveling. She even pulled a large broken tree branch off my roof following a windstorm. I hope Heidi is available for my next trip because she is awesome. Jim
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least 20$ per visit, $10/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
We LOVE Dogwoods Kennel! We have been using them since we moved to our mountain house three years ago, and I can’t think of anyone else I would trust our babies with. The staff is awesome! They always greet you with big smiles and as soon as our dogs see them, the tails start wagging! They take such great care of our sweet babies. I am so thankful that we found such a wonderful, clean, happy place for our dogs to stay while we are away. I highly recommend!!! (Here are a couple pictures of our sweet babies enjoying the sunshine during one of their stays at Dogwoods)
We have been taking our dogs the Dogwoods ever since we moved into the area, about 6 years now. They have always been well cared for and are very happy when we pick them up. Our boxer mix, Rudy, is very happy to see the people at the kennel. He runs right to them with his tail wagging. Our daughter even brings her dogs up from Canton when they need boarding. We have been very pleased with the staff, facilities and the care they provide.
We have used Dogwoods for some 6 years and are completely satisfied with their service and care for our dogs. The dogs seem to enjoy being dropped off and have special friends among the staff. My little terrier is shy of new people but jumps into the arms of the staff when we visit. My other dog is a working K9 with special training and feeding requirements. These out if the ordinary needs are accommodated with pleasure! All in all we highly recommend Dogwoods and encourage others to give them a try.
We have been boarding our dog at Dogwoods on a regular basis for over 10 years. He has always been well cared for and loved by all of the staff. Our dog has thunderstorm anxiety and many fears. He is treated with tremendous patience and empathy by all of the staff. He is always happy to see them when we arrive. They are all so good to him; I cannot imagine leaving him with anyone else.❤️
I don't know who loves Dogwoods more, me or my dog! As the owner of a high-energy pup, Dogwoods has been my saving grace over the years! Whether it's playing fetch for hours, or snuggling and giving belly rubs, they make sure my girl is taken care of! And they don't just take care of my dog, they genuinely love her. Given that, there is no one else I trust more with my pup. Dogwoods and their staff have truly become like family.
We absolutely love Dogwoods! We have left our animals here on numerous occasions and have always been more than pleased with the care they received. The staff is knowledgeable and have a genuine love for animals. If you are looking for a place your pet can stay where you know they will be happy and safe until you return, this is it!
I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the exceptional care you extended to our three dogs during their recent stay. Your warmth and attention to their individual needs were evident, and it truly put our minds at ease. Knowing they were in such caring hands allowed us to enjoy our time away without worry. Thank you for going the extra mile in creating a comfortable and loving environment for our furry family members. We’re genuinely grateful for the peace of mind you provided, and we look forward to future visits. Love, Ares, Gaia and Polly
I have been sending my fur babies to Dogwoods for 18+ years. This is the only kennel I trust. My dogs always come home happy. They make sure the dogs get plenty of exercise, attention and socialization. I have also toured their facilities and been pleased. I highly recommend this kennel.
I have been taking my large breed dogs to Dogwoods Boarding Kennel since 2014. They love it and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about them during my vacations or work trips. The staff has always gone above and beyond in making sure they are safe and well taken care of. I have many choices in places that I can board them, but I drive from the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area because I trust and I can count on the owners and staff at Dogwoods!
We have been taking our dogs to DogWoods for years, and I can't recommend them enough. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and always go above and beyond to insure that our pets are safe, happy, and well taken care of. The dogs in their kennel are their first priority. Thank you, DogWoods!
We had to board our dogs for the first time, and chose Mountain View Pet Lodge because they were close to home and had great reviews. They let me ask as many questions as I needed, and be as needy as I wanted. Sam and Kona had an awesome time playing in the snow! They were very well taken care of while we were away. Will absolutely be using them again if we need to board the pups!
We’re really thankful to MVP for taking care of our fur baby while we were away with family last month. Our dog isn’t usually the best with boarding, but Crystal was so accommodating and helped our dog feel so much more at ease!
They took great care of our pups for a week. We were worried if they would be comfortable, but we were reassured by sending us an email about their well being. Nice crew and we felt very comfortable they were in good hands.
I feel bad writing this review, but I need to warn future families looking to board. Take a tour before committing! We took a chance because of reviews and the location and I was blindsided when we arrived there. The place was very dirty. I was reluctant to leave, but the people there were very friendly and promised to update us (which they did). We received a few pictures the first day. It all went south upon pick up. New people were there and what we walked into was a mess. Our dog sat in the corner shaking (would not even come to us) and there was not an inch of the floor not covered in pee (dried and fresh). Their beds could’ve been rung out! The lady taking care of us kept saying “yeah, I saw they peed in there, I just didn’t get around to cleaning it”. Now, this looked like a weeks worth of pee and the beds were soaked and cold to touch. She asked if we wanted to take the beds and we obviously said no. When we went to the front she opened the door without our dogs being leashed which created chaos. *To note: The First Lady was actually very cautious about this which I greatly appreciated!* No one wants to lose their dog on vacation due to lack of care/thought. Luckily, it didn’t come to that, but still it could’ve. When we finally got our dogs outside they each peed for several minutes as if they hadn’t gone in a very long time. It was all very disheartening. Our dogs were stressed and exhausted when we got them home, not to mention our one dog had a cut on her nose, which I assume was from her trying to escape the crate, but no one mentioned anything. I guess the point of this review is not to steer people away, but to paint the picture and say “don’t trust the reviews”. Go check the place out for yourself! It is very cost efficient, but when it comes to your furry friends, you want more than a cheap stay.
Sweet and caring family run business. They took good care of our pups while we went out of town! We have one 7 year old dog who gets anxiety when we leave her and she doesn't like to eat. The staff was concerned and encouraged her to eat...and she did eat some which is amazing. There are private room options for an affordable price too. Thank you for taking care of our dogs! We will be back :)
We have boarded our 4 dogs here for almost 2 years now, several times a year! The staff are AMAZING! Every time we take them they come out to help us get them in so they don't run away and when we pick them up they always help with that too! They always want to know about each dog and who eats what and when. They are so kind and caring, always sending videos and pictures! One of our dogs got hurt on his own account there and they told us immediately and sent us videos, turns out it was nothing but due to their quick actions and watching him he was okay! When I message them they respond very quickly and their prices are great too!
I have been boarding my dogs here since 2005. I would not leave him anywhere else. Our lab stayed with them for 12 years before she passed away. They are a family owned business and they love animals. I can’t say enough good things about them. They are wonderful caring people.
We received pictures of our dog throughout the week which was very nice. He seemed very happy when we picked him up. He did get a bath while he was there. He's been fresh and clean and there hasn't been as much dog hair on the floor since.
I couldn't be happier with MVP Lodge and the care they give my girl Cotton. Cotton is a highly anxious, high maintenence, polar bear of a dog (she is a Great Pyrenees) that I have an undeniable bond with and that has an undeniable bond with me. Krystal and her team are so caring and loving to Cotton despite her odd hang ups. Last year, when I lost my husband unexpectedly, Krystal did everything she could to help me. I am so grateful for having such a loving place to keep my girl when I am gone that even though I moved to Alpharetta, I still bring Cotton here when I need someone to keep her.
I took my dog in today to get a full body clip. I have never used them before but when I picked her up she looked great, smelled great and she was happy. Their were no streaks in her hair from the clippers and it was blended in perfectly. Very impressed! We will be back and I will recomend them to anyone.
