Toby and Chloe were amazing pet sitters. It wasn’t the easiest sit - a nervous dog and 3 cats with various ailments and medication to have, but they took it all in their stride and cared for them so well without any issues. Our nervous dog Zelda warmed to them in just 2 days which is a record for house sitters so far! I also really enjoyed getting to know them over dinner the night before I left, they’re very easygoing and positive people. They also left the house spotless for when I came back. I would love to have them sit for us again. You can rest assured your house and animals are in safe hands with this lovely pair!
Florence and Robert were outstanding sitters. We asked them to arrive a day early as our guests to learn the routine on our farm. In getting to know them we found them to be good hearted, down to earth people with a love of animals and diligent in learning our routines to care for our poultry, cats and dog as well as our garden and orchard. Not a typical or easy sit. We travelled with ease knowing our critters were being well taken care of. Arriving home, the house was very clean and looked well cared for. The animals were healthy as were the garden and orchard. Out pets missed them when they left – our dog stared down the driveway after them until their car was out of sight. It is nice to find sitters we would like to hang out with and we look forward to having them sit for us again.
. We were absolutely delighted with the care Summer provided for our cats. Without a doubt, she is the best cat sitter we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Her attentiveness and genuine affection for our cats were evident in every interaction. Throughout our holidays, she kept us constantly updated with daily pictures and detailed updates, which gave us immense peace of mind. Additionally, she maintained our house in immaculate condition, keeping everything clean and tidy. This level of consideration and dedication went above and beyond our expectations, and we deeply appreciated her efforts. Summer’s exceptional service made our holiday experience truly worry-free and enjoyable.
I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
After seeing the numerous positive reviews, I knew Cung would be an easygoing and professional cat sitter and house guest, and he was :-) Easy communication, prompt updates and clear concern for Boz & Artie's wellbeing, and pictures of cozying up on the couch together all made our time away secure and stress free. Upon returning home, the cats were chill and the apt was left spotless, as though he hadn't even been there.
Angel was absolutely the best house sitter we could have hoped for. She is a very warm, open and diligent person and our two cats adored her. She looked after our house and garden with really conscientious care. She won over our very timid cat, Billie, and sent regular photos of both cats looking supremely content which gave us perfect peace of mind. The house was completely spotless on our return and the garden was fabulous... no mean feat since there was a heatwave while we were away and she kept everything watered and in great condition. We would have Angel back at the drop of a hat and cannot recommend her highly enough.
This was the second time Cung sat for us and once again he was amazing! Cung was great with our cat, giving him lots of love and attention. Our cat was so comfortable he snuggled up with Cung frequently, which he doesn’t always do with strangers. We got daily updates and pictures. When we returned we could tell our cat was well taken care of. Cung was so organized and clean, as well. Our apartment was spotless when we returned. That’s always nice after coming home from vacation. You should definitely have Cung sit for you! One of the top sitters on this site.
Tracy was an ideal pet sitter when we left for 12 days. She was communicative, friendly, and most importantly took perfect care of our two cats and our house. I would highly recommend her for any sit!
Kathy and Ron are the most accommodating sitters you will ever find. At my request they arrived a few days early and also made it clear they would be willing to extend their stay as needed. While at first they were a little uneasy about giving pills to our cat Sparky, they soon got the hang of it and did an excellent job caring for both cats even though the cats have very different schedules and needs. Kathy was great about keeping in touch with us and we knew they would be just fine for the several days when we were out of communication range. I would gladly invite Ron and Kathy back anytime and highly recommend them to you for your next getaway!
Super nice sitters and extremely flexible. Really enjoyed their company and I only regret that I was too frazzled to chat with them more and get to know them! Kept the house super clean, pets loved them. Dog especially. Had a little problem with my new kitten not meshing well with the older cats (which was not too surprising since cats can be territorial). Pennee was very patient and gave me constant updates and tips. And the older cat was much more calm when I came home. Highly recommend and welcome back anytime!

I love the employees and my dog seems to love it. It's always clean and they're super friendly. I love that they offer nail grinds and baths. My dog comes here for boarding and daycare pretty often, and we plan to keep coming! The staff are willing to work with people which is awesome. I sometimes forget to give my doggo breakfast and they feed him or mix up the day I'm picking him up from boarding and the call to clarify 🤦🏼♀️
I have a 7 month old golden retriever, Josie, and she can be a lot as a puppy with little to no socialization skills with other dogs. Today was her first day or socialization day at Updawg Pet Hotel and Daycare and it went better than I could have ever imagined. First, I am a helicopter dog parent so I am already nervous about having others watch my dog, but then to have someone else introduce her to a group of dogs terrified me. But the staff was amazing! The owner, Travis, walked me through all the questions and calmed all my nerves. And every other staff member was so kind to Josie and me. You can text when your dog is with them for an update and they respond really quickly! Not only did I book her boarding stay, I also signed up for more doggy daycare because I felt so comfortable with Josie in their care. Peace of mind has no price tag, but somehow this place also has the best rates I’ve seen. Thank you so much for the best experience! (Also, cheers to the new ownership group! Not only does Travis provide military discount, he is also a Vet.)
**Exceptional Care and Service for Our Pup!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We've been taking our dog to Updawg for about four years, and couldn't be happier with the care and attention he receives. Whether it's for daily daycare or extended boarding, the staff consistently go above and beyond to ensure our dog is happy and well-cared for. They've always been incredibly patient and understanding, even when we have last-minute requests. Our dog can be a bit of a handful—he's vocal and can be challenging at times—but the team handles him with such care and expertise. They never rush us when we have questions and always take the time to make sure we feel comfortable and informed. It's clear that everyone at Updawg genuinely loves what they do, and it shows in the way they treat the dogs and their owners. Highly recommend as a reliable and loving place for furry family member. They have earned our trust and gratitude over the years, and we wouldn't take our dog anywhere else!
My doggo Fawnzie absolutely loves going to daycare here. He gets so very excited to go in and always wants to take his friends (other doggos and staff) home with him. It is a great place for him to socialize and get his energy out while I am at work. I can definitely tell that he is well taken care of and cared for while here.
We have been taking Gizmo here for a little over a year. He was a covid puppy and therefore not socialized properly. Very fearful of others and the first daycare place didn't work out at all. Had to cut my trip short to rescue him. This place has been a lifesaver!! They socialized him and he does fine with other dogs and can be left there for boarding even. Very much appreciative of the hard work, knowledge and care they put into their jobs.
Best thing ever! My 3 year old lab (still full-on puppy) sits at the door every day waiting to go to daycare to see his friends. When I pick him up in the afternoon he is asleep in the backseat literally before I pull out of the parking lot. The activity and socializing helps him keep his weight down (labs love to eat!) and has made him more social with new dogs. Wonderful kind people. Great hours of operation too. They open early and I can even pick him up on Sundays if he is boarding. Bill
My pups CANNOT wait to get out of the car when we pull into the parking lot. They have become so much more social and friendly towards people and other dogs since coming to daycare. All the employees at Updawg are amazing! I’m so impressed they know all the dogs by name, their personalities and many by their bark! Highly recommend!
Our pup Rufus loves going to daycare at Updawg! He knows when we grab his leash in the morning that he gets to go play with his friends and gets so excited. Rufus had also stayed overnight and likes that too. Rufus is a sensitive, anxious boy so being alone doesn’t work for him. Updawg has been a life saver for us. The staff is friendly and experienced at loving dogs. Updawg also offers baths which is awesome because Rufus doesn’t let us wash him often. He isn’t a bath guy, but the staff at Updawg manage to get him clean and smelling good. Updawg offers extras to help their overnight guests feel safe and cozy including treats and one on one time which is also really helpful. Change and traveling can be stressful for Rufus. Leaving him at Updawg gives is peace of mind that he will be okay and have a good time.
This place used to be called Jeanie’s doggy Daycare. There has been a huge difference since the new ownership! Super friendly and always happy to see my pup! My dog loves going here and hanging with all the other dogs!
Jenna, my German Shepherd, loves going to Updawg. When I tell her we're going there she gets very excited, tail goes crazy, jumps around with excitement and runs to the car. If I need to take a detour, she cries until she recognizes we're on a familiar road to doggie day care. The staff is caring and it's obvious they all love dogs. When I need to board her, I never worry about her when I'm away. I know she's happy and well taken care of. I'm extremely happy with their services.
I have used this place for daycare and boarding for 3 years now. My dog is so well cared for and they play with the dogs. Everyone seems happy and they are very nice people.
We have utilized Alpha Dogs for both of our dogs since 2009 for both daycare services and for boarding. The owners and their team have always been attentive and caring, while their pricing, including the discounted passes that they offer for advance purchase, have always been more than fair. Our dogs are now 15 y/o and 13 y/o and we never have concerns about their care with these folks. Lee, Scott, and your team, thanks for all you do.
We’ve been taking our huge, high energy dog here for about a year. He is always so excited to go, gets excited when he sees each employee, and sleeps well when he comes home. The employees know all of our dog’s little quirks and have helped teach our dog new skills. The location is super convenient for working downtown and the value for money is great compared to other doggy daycares in the area.
This month is the 7th year anniversary for my older Australian Shepard and the 2nd anniversary for my younger Australian Shepard at Alpha Dogs where they spend 1-2 days/week at DayCare and all their boarding days which is 3-4 weeks a year while I travel. The dogs love going to this very clean, open floor plan place run by the same owners for the whole time I have lived in Spokane. I especially love their boarding conditions as they are around all their usual dog companions all the workday and for two extended period on each weekend and Holiday(where there is usually at least 5 other of their dog friends). I am more satisfied with how Alpha Dogs is run than anywhere else I have used DayCare and Boarding in the 39 years I have owned dogs as an adult. They also have the most reasonably priced boarding of any place i have ever lived. Lee & Scott, the owners, are two very special, caring dog owners and treat all the dogs there like family!
Drove by location to check it out before we dropped off our pup. Very sketchy neighborhood and it seems as if there is no one there caring for the dogs. The facility itself has little room for outdoor play, similar to a 2 car wide parking lot. Upon drop off attempt we were met with aggression as we were confused on the drop off times. They were at first saying we missed our drop off day by 3 days, and only seconds later were saying we missed the drop off time by 2 hours. Seems very poorly managed and the customer service is severely sub par. I would advise anyone to search for a different option! If they are aggressive towards the customer, imagine how they are behind closed doors to your beloved pup! Ahh!
Alpha dogs has taken excellent care of our dog. Initially she was very shy and now she has become more of a social butterfly. The review that was posted rating this as a one-star place is obviously a scam. Couldn't imagine a better place to take our dog. There are definitely no shock collars used hear otherwise our dog wouldn't be so eager to come back. Great place with great ownership at a very reasonable price!
I have used Alpha Dogs for my Pit and Husky and am more than pleased with their services. I would recommend them to all my friends! My dogs come home happy and tired. Great service and very knowledgeable about training practices and breed specific issues. They do NOT use shock collars, they use pet safe vibrating collars and I actually purchased one to use on my pup who is an incessant barker, they do not cause harm and do exactly what they sound like, they vibrate. If you need a daycare, this is the place to go!
My dog, Potter, loves coming here! He gets excited when we pull up to the building. You can tell they pay very close attention to every dog, for they found out if my dog would like to play with the small dogs or the big dogs instead of just putting him in one of them. (He is medium sized) they are very friendly and offer a great doggy day care service.
We sent our dog to Alpha Dog late summer, and by this winter we removed him from there. At first our pup loved it. He is a very happy pup that gets along with all people and all other dogs, but it did NOT take long before we started noticing things at home. First, he stopped eating and was acting depressed. We noticed when we'd take him in or pick him up if the owners/workers weren't up front when we first got there, that there was a lot of "yelling" at the dogs in the back....and I don't mean yelling to the dogs as in giving them a command, but gruff yelling and mean sounding. We could hear this from the front counter. Okay, dog's don't understand the difference. They only know by our tones. The owners and their daughter seem to be the worst at speaking in a very harsh manner almost mean tone to the pups. They say they have a great amount of training in "dog behavior," but I've not seen it in their application with the dogs nor their vocabulary in speaking. When you drop off and pick them up, they do make your dog sit, by command in gruff voice or even pushing their behinds down to sit. That is the only exercise I've seen them use their "behavioral training" on the animals. Finally and this was the straw that broke the camel's back; our pup came home with signs of shock collar use...throwing up food, even water, depressed and hating to wear his own halter/harness, which he hadn't before. Now I realize that shock collars are not illegal to use in this state, but to use them in a doggie day care without the knowledge and especially the permission of the owner is unethical and immoral at best. Dogs can't talk and they can't tell you what's going on, so you can only see by their demeanor, behavior, spirits or possibly if they have any physical residual effects from treatment. They didn't ask for our permission or give us the knowledge that their facility uses or even has shock collars on the premises. There's no way they asked our permission, because there's no way I'd agree to this or would have left our dog there if I'd known that they even had shock collars in the facility. It's like they can't control the dogs with their "animal behavioral" training, so they just shock collar them. The other thing about this place that is very sketchy is they will not let you go in the back...like at all. I realize that they can't allow people to just come and go in the back for safety reasons, but you would think they'd allow tours or visits at certain times so people can see where they are sending their pups each day! Other facilities do allow tours. I asked for one at Alpha Dogs when we first signed on...they wouldn't allow it. By the way, we did take our pup to the vet, we did get the shock collar symptoms checked out as our pup was only showing these symptoms while at Alpha Dog. In addition, their "nanny cam" that could give you any kind of solace or piece of mind to watch your pup while he/she is at this facility isn't working half the time ("it's down" they say) and when it is working it only shows a very small vantage point. Not a terrible place to take your dog if you have absolutely no other choice as they have great pups there to socialize with your pup, but the way it's run is a 1 star and only because first, Google Review doesn't allow for 1/2 stars, and 2)the pup to pup socializing that goes on is great. Otherwise, it would be a "1/2 star." Some of the workers that aren't related to the owners that are general hires were actually nice to us and the dogs, didn't hear them yelling, but unfortunately the owners are not kind and if they aren't friendly to your pups in front of you and you hear them speaking harsh to dogs in the back when you're standing there listening, how else are they treating them when they THINK no one is looking/listening? Just know when you take your fur baby to Alpha Dogs that they may very well use a shock collar on your pup without your permission, especially if you have a high energy or friendly, out going dog that they feel is hard to control.
We've been taking our dogs here for a little over a year now. They love it there. This is the only dog daycare in the area with an outdoor option. The staff are kind and friendly. They always treat our pups well. Highly recommend.
We can't recommend Happy Little Hounds more strongly--they are great! It took us a while to feel comfortable leaving our dog while we traveled, but Michalla is super professional, takes great care of the dog, communicates lots and sends great photos, and takes great care of our house when petsitting. We look forward to working with her for years to come!
I wanted to take a minute and show my appreciation for Michalla And the Happy Little Hounds team! Once a year me and my family take a summer vacation, however this year was different. We welcomed Oreo into our home and had to consider who would look after him. Of course the doggie hotels were over priced so we search until we ran across Happy Little Hounds! It was the best decision we ever made. Michalla was extremely professional and helpful throughout the whole process. Me and my family enjoyed our vacation with complete peace of mind knowing that Oreo was in great hands. With gratitude.
Fantastic experience! Michalla has watched our dog on two different occasions and both have been pleasant experiences. She sends plenty of updates and pictures along the way which really helps make us feel at ease and enjoy our time away from home. So excited to see this business flourish!
Michalla is so great with animals. Her patience and willingness to accommodate my schedule made her so easy to work with. I highly recommend her services!
Aimee was absolutely wonderful! She took the best care of our dog and we could really tell he felt safe and cared for by her. She sent us plenty of adorable photos and videos updating us on his walks + care. She even watered our garden for us! Absolutely recommend her and will be using Wonder Walks again.
Aimee was really amazing. My cat can be standoffish around strangers, but it was obvious that Aimee made her feel safe. She sent videos and pictures every day and kept me updated on everything. If I ever need a pet sitter again I know who to call.
We love using Amy as our walker. She takes such good care of my dog Louie, and she is a great communicator. She always sends lots of photos and notes about Louie's walk. She even dog sat Louie for an entire week, and I felt happy knowing he was in great care. I def recommend wonder walks!
Aimee is AMAZING with my two pups. The only dog sitter/walker I trust with my dogs! I trust her with my life!! She always takes the best care of them and always sends me pup dates and photos! HIGHLY recommend !
Working with Aimee has been such a great experience for my dogs and I. She is extremely detailed and invested in the care of my animals as well as making sure I’m involved in everything they do while she’s with them. I don’t often let anyone watch my dogs however I 10/10 recommend and trust Aimee!
You are LUCKY to have found Wonder Walks! Aimee is such a delightful soul and is also, very professional, prompt, and kept me informed of arrival times. We visited Spokane for a full week and Aimee came each morning to walk our dog... she was very attentive and kind and he was so excited to see her. They walked around town and in the park and all the while, I’d receive terrific pix and videos of their adventures. I highly recommend Aimee/Wonder Walks!!
She's the best person ever she takes care of all of her dogs cats
Amy is more than awesome! We have never had a pet sitter that puts so much into our pets and home as she does ! She has become part of our family. My son also uses Amy she is just an incredible human❤️
Aimee takes wonderful care of my 14 yr old kitty, Banshee!. She really goes the extra mile to make my kitty comfortable and happy! I recommend her highly, 5 stars!!
The best dog whisperer ever. Perfect care with my dog and all of her many unique needs and follows the details. Follows safety, and took time to get to know her. Professional. Friendly. Communicative. My dog is always so happy Aimee. Big Puppy smiles:). 😀😀😀🐶🐶🐶🐶😀😀
