We love k-9 in Fairfield! My dog, Callaway started going when she was around 7 months old as we were referred by our neighbors dog who goes. My dog is super happy, loves other dogs and has a ton of energy so I decided to give them a try. I was super nervous dropping her off for her evaluation, but the assistant manager Sue was so helpful and called me halfway through the day to give me a full report! Ever since that day (almost 2 years ago!), Callaway has literally squealed in delight from the car when she knows she is headed to K9! The staff is always so friendly and caring and I know they treat my dog amazing because as soon as she steps in the door, she’s kissing them, wagging her tail and goes right in! I love how clean the facility is and what a great job they do staying on top of vaccinations. I highly recommend k9 and appreciate their services. If you have a dog that is social or energetic, their daycare is a lifesaver. My girl is so much happier when I am work hanging with her human and pup pals than she is at home! I also enjoy seeing her having a great time on their Instagram while I am at work!

The staff is absolutely fantastic. We've been boarding our boy here when I travel for work, which is frequently, and they've always given him excellent care. Sue, in particular, is amazing. She is so helpful with advice and she truly cares about the dogs. Highly recommended - worth the price.

Our dog is always so happy going to K9 Resorts and I know he will always be well taken care of. Even after all this time they have been closed due to renovations from fire, the staff did not skip a beat on the great care of our Theo. We look forward to his next stay there.

This review is long overdue. It is going to be lengthy, but since I always rely on other people’s experiences, and like to do thorough research before deciding on anything, I thought it might be helpful for some others like me. We always wanted a dog, but we used to travel quite a lot, and COVID lockdown seemed to be a perfect time to get accustomed, and figure it all out before things go back to normal. We got our first dog, the cutest beagle puppy, only 8 weeks old. Few months later, after talking to a lot of my friends, reading a lot of reviews, calling and visiting quite a few places, I decided to sign up my puppy for half days day care package at K9 in Fairfield. My first interaction was with Anna, she showed me around, and she was so helpful and patient with so many of my questions and worries. The place is so clean, and I loved that instead of separating the dogs by size or breed, they actually group them by energy and personality. My dog hates the collar (I know, I should make him 😬), but k9 does not require them to wear one, and still they know every single dog’s name. They told me that every dog has unique personality just like people. I started taking Benny for half days once or twice a week, and he was so excited every time we pulled up in the parking lot. He always left happy and exhausted, and I very much enjoyed seeing the Instagram photos of him playing with all his friends. I know some other places offer 24 hours video access, but honestly for me it would be a distraction, because I would most likely be watching it 24 hours (lol) and stress even more. After almost a year, time came for my family to go back to traveling, and we were supposed to leave him for two weeks. I was so nervous, and sad, and worried about everything. Is he going to sleep, is he going to eat, will he get sick, will he miss us, will he forget his routine at home, and God knows what not??? My Benny was literally on his own little vacation while we were away. He had a blast! I emailed every day, and whether was it Anna, Andy, Nancy or Sue, every single time I got the response right back, with all the updates about how he is doing. The day we picked him up, once again I worried. Did he loose weight, did he loose his voice, is he a different dog now? He was exactly the same, happy, playful dog that we left two weeks ago! Today I took him for day care again, the first time after our vacation, and that’s what made me post this review. He was SO excited to go in, and see the staff, and see his friends- it was a definite confirmation that this is the place to leave my dog without anything to worry about! At times, I struggled as a first time dog owner. Anna and Andy always gave me tips and advice on how to deal with it. K9 knows dogs, they care for them, and they keep them safe. I am so happy I found them, and I am recommending to everyone!! Thank you, K9 Fairfield ❤️!!

Highly recommend! My girls are very excited every time I mention where we’re going! Their happiness proves that they are having a wonderful experience. Staff is always pleasant and very responsible.

I had my dog board for several days here at K9 resorts in Fairfield. The staff is very nice, professional, and very attentive. During pickup my dog smelt great from his bath and could tell he had a great time while we were away. It is great because while they board they also can participate in daycare daily. Our dog came home super tired due to all the fun he was having! I will definitely bring him back here to board and for daycare!

First things first, the staff here is always so wonderful, polite and helpful! The staff is always ready to answer questions or help with accommodations if needed. My niece (yes I'm a dog aunt) Presley is always so excited to go to daycare! She gets so excited just walking in and the staff always welcome her with open arms. I also love that they post multiple times a day on Instagram so you can check up on your pup. It's always clean and smells wonderful in the lobby and around the property. Never an issue when we come here.

Absolutely love Mutts on Main daycare! My anxious but energetic dog Ruby has been going to daycare here for about 6 months and we both love it. She comes home tired and happy and I don’t have to worry for a second while she is there. Everyone I’ve met on the staff is a genuine dog lover and cares about your dog like their own. They do activities for the dogs, like “Olympic games” this past summer and a costume contest during Halloween, which shows that your dog is truly being taken care of and not just left to play with little attention being paid to them like other daycares we have experienced. Highly recommend Mutts on Main for daycare, and the Denville store as well!

Two years ago, I adopted a dog from the Newark shelter. To say my pup was 'unruly' would be an understatement. I am very experienced with dogs but could not handle my new pet. As I was looking for another home to place her, I found Mutts on Main. Nicky and Sean are amazing trainers. My dog is now very happy and obedient. Two years later, I could not imagine my life without my loving dog

Great place, it’s local to me so I go here often. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s all high quality stuff. My dog loves the rabbit ear treats, the ones with fur. She spends hours on chewing it and she doesn’t have diarrhea or vomiting as she does with other treats. Their self wash is very nice aesthetically, but really overpriced. There’s other nearby places with better showers and well stocked with different shampoos for half the price (I think the self wash is $20+ versus other local self wash that’s just $10). The blow dryer is also sort of weak compared to other places and last time I went they were out of shampoo but couldn’t find other ones so I had to settle with whatever they had in stock. Other than that, it’s a very nice place, it’s clean with lots of treats, toys and natural tick/flea repellents and they have more stuff on the second floor. Recommend visiting for cat and dog owners ☺️ I want to update because I tried the grooming service and my dog was so well taken care of!! I called at 8am and had an appointment that same day at 10am. I forgot the groomers name, but he did an excellent job. I added the de-shedding option, which I saw made a noticeable difference in her coat. And her paws were so incredibly soft!

I can't say enough positive things about ALL trainers that worked with my dog at Mutts. She is well socialized and behaved. We did a training and continue to send her twice a week for a socialization/reinforcement and joke often she won't come home one day because she loves it so much there. Mutts is a heaven for dogs. They get to socialize and train and come home tired and happy. We also board her with them when traveling and have only had a positive experience so far. Mutts is what happens when people are passionate about animals and know what they are doing.

Their daycare program is totally different from your typical chain facility. They let the dogs roam on acres and acres of land and even go on outings with them. Our dog Abby was so exhausted by the time she got home which is truly a testament to how much fun she had. Highly recommend this boarding facility if you’re looking for a better doggy daycare experience.

Went there with my dog for the first time and it was such a great experience. The staff was amazing, you can tell they are all very well trained aside from welcoming. The facility is beautiful and well kept. I was able to get my dogs nails trimmed while I was there and I was impressed by their professionalism. Will be back very soon!

I have had nothing but a stellar experience each and every time I have taken my pup to Mutts on Main! Whether it be for training, boarding or daycare the staff always takes great care of him and he absolutely LOVES going.. to the point that I drop him off and he doesn’t even give me a second to say goodbye before he’s running off to be with all of his friends (both humans and dogs)! My puppy has learned SO MUCH from everyone there! This past weekend Nikki and Sean went above and beyond for my little guy who was in for a 2 week training and needed to go to the emergency clinic.. they were super professional in calling me and letting me know every single detail that was going on and also in reassuring me that everything would be okay.. they even stayed there with him and made sure he wasn’t scared! Now that really shows their dedication through and through!!! All around Mutts on Main is the best!!

I've used Mutts On Main in the past for group walks for my puppy. When we got our second dog, we used them a couple times for daycare and recently came to the conclusion we needed to put her through a week long behavioral training program. Since I was already very familiar with the facility, I didn't have any second guesses. Board and Train programs tend to have a bad rap but these guys really focus on positive reinforcement, confidence building, conditioned relaxation, perception modification, Etc. all of the methods used to create a fair, respectful, happy relationship and healthy mindset. That being said, Nikki and Sean & staff are really easy to work with and you'll learn so much from them.

Mutts on Main is a top notch dog training/rehabilitation facility. After a tragic and emergency situation this past weekend, Nikki spoke to me at length about all available options for the dog in need. She is kind and caring, but also extremely pragmatic in her thinking. Her willingness to speak to me on the phone for over a half an hour displays how it is not about the money for this company, but it's truly about the health, safety and wellbeing of dogs. God bless them and the work that they do each day.
