I highly recommend Sampson Smiles for pet sitting! We have worked with Diana for many years to care for our two cats. She has a true talent for reading animals and meeting their needs. Our cats probably prefer her over us! Diana is responsive, reliable, and trustworthy. We are so fortunate to have her as our pet sitter because she gives us peace of mind when we are out of town and we know our cats and house are in safe hands with her.
We have been so blown away by the incredible service and professionalism shown by Diana! We have 150% confidence in her and feel so comfortable knowing that our pets are well cared for while we are gone. She even sent pictures and notes while we were gone to let us know all was ok. We would absolutely recommend her services. Thank you so much Diana!
Diana is amazing! She takes care of our furry family members (regular walks for our large breed pup and occasional house sitting for said pup and her kitty friend) as if they were her own. You can see that Diana genuinely cares for animals and is always willing to go the extra mile to provide service. I can not recommend Sampson Smiles enough!
Diana provided pet sitting services for our cats while we were away on vacation. She did a great job, sending us regular updates that gave us peace of mind about the well-being of our pets. We felt very confident entrusting their care to Diana, and we would highly recommend the service!
We had a great experience with Diana! My dog was very well taken care of during her first overnight without her family. Loved getting the updates on how she was doing as she has some anxiety which always makes us nervous to leave her. I would highly recommend Sampson Smiles Pet Care and will be using Diana again!
Sampson Smiles gives me total peace of mind my dogs are being cared for exactly as I want. Diana is as dependable as the sunrise and always puts the dogs first. She has cared for my Dobermans in sickness and in health, for daily letouts during the workweek and longer vacation times. She has cared for the tough to handle personalities, the I want my Mom personalities, and everyone in between. Diana is the real deal - total peace of mind....priceless.
Diana was great. Our cat is scared and skittish around strangers, and Diana has plenty of ways to play and engage with those types of pets. Diana is incredibly reliable and the notes she provided for each visit offered additional reassurance that our cat was well taken care of while we were away.
We couldn't be happier with Sampson Smiles Pet Care. Diana and her team do a tremendous job communicating with clients and taking care of our furry family members. I wouldn't hesitate to leave our senior pup in Diana's care.
My husband and I recommend Sampson Smiles Pet Care to those we love most. The service is always outstanding and reliable. We feel very fortunate to have someone to watch our home and our pets while we're away. We trust Diana Dowd with everything and she always delivers excellence. It is SO hard to find this type of dedication.
Diana is fantastic. She took the time to get to know my anxious and shy dog and make her feel very comfortable with meeting a new person. I would recommend Sampson Smiles to all my friends and family.
Theresa, of Pets are Family Pet Sitting, and her staff member, Jennifer, provided exceptional service for our 1 year old cat. It was our first time being away from our feral kitty, since she was found abandoned and alone at 5 weeks. From the intake meeting to completion of service, our experience with Pets are Family was extremely professional. Theresa was very patient with my concerns. Her confidence and knowledge was evident. The daily reports and photos while we were away were enormously comforting, but what really proved the level of care provided, was when we returned. We were greeted by a calm, secure and very happy pet; and that says it all! Excellent company!
Theresa took care of everything while we were on vacation. I love the well written and hilarious updates each day complete with pictures to show the kids while we were away from our cat. She provides a wonderful and personalized service and took care of trash, cat clean up, mail…. everything. It was so nice to know our cat and house were in good hands. I would absolutely use their services again.
We couldn't be happier with Theresa and Pets Are Family. They send a detailed report of each visit with pictures and a writeup. Our dogs love Theresa and we're excited we found such a reliable and trustworthy walking service.
I wholeheartedly recommend pets are family and Theresa! Theresa has been so fantastic with our elderly cat and our crazy flexible schedule. We have used her for over a year now, and she has always been super professional, kind, and extremely responsive. Pets Are Family is very well run as well. PAF sends daily reports with pictures and details, so that you never have to worry about how your pets are doing. They will even get packages from your porch, water your plants, or get your mail if you need them to. We recently had a family emergency, which had us leaving town with less than 24 hours notice. Theresa not only accommodated us, but when we had to change our plans from one week to two weeks and finally to three weeks out of town, she was so gracious with every change and easily accommodated us. We could not have dealt with our emergency without her! I cannot say enough great things about Theresa and Pets Are Family, we are so lucky to have found them!
We had a family reunion for a week of which we couldn’t bring our dog. I was panicking as I didn’t know what to do. I was online looking at various reviews and came across Pets Are Family pet sitting services. Theresa was wonderful communicating both prior and the week of. She sent out a daily report with photos and an outline of our dog’s day. It made us feel so much better leaving her knowing that she was so well taken care of. I would highly recommend this business!!!
Pets Are Family Pet Setting is outstanding. Their name reflects a 100% their love and commitment to our furry babies. Theresa and her team are professional, caring and offer regular and detailed updates of each visit. Plus, they are respectful of your home and privacy, as they have an emphasis on security and safety. I used to take the girls (Niebla and Lexie my two Golden Retrievers), to daycare but after getting repeatedly sick I decided to try pet sitting/walking. I was on the fence about allowing someone in my home, but Theresa changed all that. I am so happy I found her! She loves what she does and it shows. And my girls and I love her! Highly, highly recommended!
Pets Are Family Pet Sitting Services is incredible! From the first moment I talked to Teresa, her passion and positive energy was contagious through the phone. She has stellar communication and she takes such great care of our little puppy (who adores her). We are so thankful to have found her and are excited to support her as she continues to build her fabulous business!
Theresa is the most thoughtful dog walker and cat sitter we have ever worked with. We have two large German shepherds who were struggling to find a new walker they clicked with when we moved. Theresa’s entire approach has kept the dogs calm and comfortable in getting into a new routine. She has them completely under her spell!
Theresa Johnson is a godsend! We’ve typically relied on friends and family to help with our dogs when we travel, along with an unsatisfactory Rover house/dog sitter for a longer trip we took last year. We knew we needed someone more reliable, so we asked our neighbors who they use for their pets and they gave Theresa a glowing recommendation. We can’t say enough positive things about Theresa…she is great with our two Labrador retrievers are we are always at ease when we travel knowing they are with someone who genuinely loves animals (and someone who can handle two large, energetic dogs safely). We receive regular updates with photos, including a very sweet photo collage at the end of our trip. We appreciate that Theresa is a professional and operates her business as such. Scheduling, paying, and communications are all handled via an app which is very convenient and streamlined. Theresa is an all-around pleasure to deal with, and we know our dogs adore her too as evidenced by their tail wags and booty shakes when they see her.
My dog, Sandy, became ill the day I was leaving for an out of town trip. Theresa was very concerned about her wellbeing. When Sandy’s condition hadn’t improved by the next morning, Theresa drove her to the emergency vet. She checked in with me to see how Sandy was doing and even took her medication to the emergency vet the following day. I can’t thank Theresa enough for her assistance and caring during that challenging time. She truly cares about the pets she cares for and treats them like family just as the name of her company states.
I have been using Becky’s Pet Care since 2021 and could not be more grateful for the care that has been shown to our cat, Spock. Carl has been the person mostly taking care of him all these years and he’s wonderful! I am never worried about whether Spock will be fed, or litter taken care of. Becky’s Pet Care is easy to schedule, and if you need to cancel, very easy to do so as well. Highly recommend!
This place is the best! After Alexandria Pet Care cancelled a dog walking/pet visit while I was away, Becky’s came through. The walkers loved the dogs - and while my son was there recovering from surgery - you could tell they were real dog people. There were four dogs of various temperaments and Becky’s staff shined!!
I have used this service periodically for the past two years. I simply would not entrust the care of my kitties to any other service. I really value the care given by Becky's Pet Care and highly recommend them.
Working with Becky's Pet Care has been a great experience. The company is upfront with policies, cost, and caretaker training. The couple times I have needed to contact the company with questions, I have received quick responses. Scheduling mid-day walks from the client portal is really straightforward. Elaine has been great with my dog who takes a while to warm up to strangers; she's been calmly working on building up his trust week after week. It's a huge relief to see the post-visit journal updates on how each visit went while I'm still at work.
Becky's cares for our two dogs and three cats when we are away. Their dedication, care, and attention to detail are phenomenal. I can't say enough what a wonderful job they do, and most importantly, the dogs and cats all love the care takers.
We love Becky’s Pet care for its fast and efficient site, allowing us to elect services at any time, and more importantly for the reliability and love their staff has given to my cats for the past 6+ years. They go above and beyond, bringing in mail and packages, sending personalized, detailed notes and photos, and alerting me to any concerns. Grateful we found them!
I really depend on Becky's Pet Care for my dog Beau. He enjoys great walkers like Ned & Michael. They always provide a wonderful service with daily visits. They are the best! Tracy S.
We have been using Becky's Pet Care for several years to take care of our cat when we travel. They take excellent care of our cat and we really appreciate the e-mail message after each visit that lets us know how he is doing including pictures. It makes out trips much more enjoyable to know he is being well cared for.
My young kitten is in great hands with Becky’s. While I’m feeling a smidgen of guilt for taking two days away, I love reading his pet journal and seeing the pics.
I've been a client of the company for almost a decade now, uses service when I've been unable to find friend or family to assist. I booked a service on 6/6 for the July 4th holiday weekend. Three weeks later on 6/25 (1 week before a major holiday) I received an automated email that services are unavailable. After a follow up email asking why this was canceled, it was stated that they work on a first-come first-serve basis and apologize for the inconvenience. That's perfectly fine and understandable, however it should be coordinated before booking the service, not 3 weeks after, and 1 week before a major holiday is completely unacceptable. If I can't rely on the service I request, then I can't use the service, it's that simple. I could have been looking for alternate solutions for the past 3-weeks instead of scrambling at the end.
UPDATING Review: I felt that I needed to update my review after experiencing other doggy daycare options. I started bringing my dog here when he was a pup and he loved the smaller groups. I also was happy and comfortable knowing exactly who would be around my dog all day and knowing that they were being watched 100% of the time. I also boarded my dog with The Backyard Pack and was confident that he was being well cared for. Last year, before the pandemic hit, I added another dog to the family. She is a lot more strong willed then my older pup but she did very well at doggy daycare. Both dogs would come home exhausted and happy. Pandemic world, dogs stopped going to daycare for several months because both myself and my husband were home. When I began to go back to the office, we took advantage of another day care because they were offering 50% off their regular pricing and a neighbor that has a dog my pups love playing with, took their pup there as well. We did not take them often since we were still home a lot but it was great when we did because the 3 dogs could play together all day and would all come home completely tired out. By utilizing the other daycare service, we came to truly appreciate the Backyard Pack. With the other facility, my dogs got sick several times and my youngest was bit on 2 occasions, one being bad enough to cause an infection that required antibiotics. The Backyard pack is cleaned thoroughly and I had never previously experienced my dogs coming home sick. In addition to that, we had to board them and did so with the other facility(before the biting incidents). When we picked the pups up, we discovered that they had only been feed 50% of their meals. I would not chose to board my dogs anywhere else again. I can not say enough how much I appreciate knowing that my dogs will not be forgotten at The Backyard Pack when they are boarded this summer. My older dog also needs shots now and I know that I do not have to worry about this with Laurie and Brian. I would recommend The Backyard Pack over any other daycare if it is important to you that your dog is with people that truly care about your animal. My pups are both back in the Pack and they love this spot and the owners!
We started taking our American Staffy mix to the Backyard Pack because it was conveniently located just a few miles from work (and due to co-worker recommendations!). We have both moved on to new jobs, in the complete opposite direction of Backyard Pack, but still take our dog once every week or two. The staff is amazing, our dog comes home nice and tired, and we never have to worry about him while he's there. If we were closer, he'd go much more often. An extra perk is that Laurie (owner) is also a photographer so she can schedule Christmas, Valentines, engagement pictures while your dog is at daycare for the day. We love Backyard Pack! Just wish we were a little closer :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE The Backyard Pack! My Lab Blitz has been going to doggy daycare there for the past year. I couldn't be happier because he socializes with other dogs and is able to burn his energy during the day. Operating hours are perfect for me to drop off before work and pick up after. Laurie and Brian are wonderful with all the dogs and very experienced. Laurie is always giving advice with my pup! Highly recommend!!!!
My pup Bailey always gets so excited when we open the door to go in. I like knowing she’s in good hands and having fun with other dogs when I’m at work. I would definitely recommend Backyard Pack to anyone looking for a doggy daycare.
We have been boarding our dog at the Backyard Pack for about a year and have been very happy! Our sweet dog has traditionally not enjoyed daycare or boarding, but has no problem walking right in to play here! The dogs get individual walks, which is perfect for dogs who need a bit of reprieve from the chaos of daycare, and Laurie also has lots of advice, especially about nutrition.
We are sooooooooo in love with The Backyard Pack! Our dog absolutely loves going! We have used them for both daycare and boarding and can not say enough great things about them! We refer them to every dog owner we know because they are just wonderful people and a wonderful place. The owners have helped us understand our dog more and better meet his needs. We have asked their advice on numerous occasions about dog products and dog care and they are very knowledgeable and helpful! We are always at ease when we have to leave our dog because we know he is well taken care of and having fun, which is a tremendous relief to have found such an AMAZING place! We LOVE The Backyard Pack wholeheartedly and highly recommend them for anyone searching for a dog daycare/boarding!
After moving back to the area after living in another state for a few years, we spent a good amount of time looking for an open boarding and daycare facility for our two rescue pit bulls. Our dogs interviewed at other facilities that seemed fine but as soon as we came to The Backyard Pack, it was obvious that this was the perfect fit for us. One of our dogs is very high energy and can suffer from anxiety and our other dog is very fearful. Laurie picked up on these behaviors immediately and worked throughout their first boarding experience to help them feel comfortable and start overcoming these behaviors. When I picked them up from their first boarding stay, Laurie took the time to explain how she worked with my dogs and recommended ways that I can continue to work with them at home. I am so impressed by the care provided to my dogs and appreciate the time that was taken to not only make my dogs comfortably fit into the pack but also to help me to facilitate positive behaviors in my dogs. This is a wonderful place to bring your dogs for daycare/boarding and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a facility that you can trust to take care of your dogs like you would at home.
The Backyard Pack is an AMAZING Doggy Daycare! We have been bringing our dog, Lola, there for the past 5 months for both daycare and overnight boarding. We could not be happier with our experiences there. The owners are amazing trainers and we have learned so much about how to correct Lola's behavior. They are always willing to give us advice and ways that we can help her understand what is good behavior. We also love the concept of the open daycare, no kennels, simulated apartment that they use!
My dog loves the Backyard Pack!! Laurie and Brian provide a great home away from home for my collie. They willingly answer questions about pet care, food, toys, behavior, etc., and they're very knowledgeable. Both daycare and boarding are reasonably priced. It's a great place!
Affordable and convenient doggy daycare- my dog attends 1-2x week and they still notice when he is more active than usual or got a new collar. They have discounted services when I have foster dogs, and they post videos of the dogs playing. Dogs come home tired and happy, so it's a good value for the owner's sanity. Once your dog is an approved member, you can drop them off any day of the work week without notice, which is great for flexible schedules. Highly recommend.
Meet Meadow, she's a 6 month old German Shepherd! We have been very pleased with our training lessons with Meaghan at OTP-Springfield. We really appreciate her philosophy of understanding your dog's intrinsic nature, respecting that and working in such as way that brings harmony for human and dog. In one of the photos you can see a shoulder leash. Meaghan recommended after discussing my challenge of teaching a strong puppy not to pull. I appreciated the kinder approach. Meadow and I highly recommend Meaghan!
Took my 2 yr old boxer mix in for a swimming lesson after a friend recommended this location. He loved it. I loved it. Staff is great, prices are reasonable. We've already re-booked another session. Highly recommend.
We love Old Town Pet Resort! Our girls Eve and Belle are frequent customers and they have been most helpful. A great staff that is always friendly and helpful from Management to Day Camp and in between! Great trading by Megan Martin who has transformed a lil young mix breed rescue Belle into a proper princess (most of the time), and always works with our diva Eve. She has also started working on Grace, a mix we hope to adopt out soon! (Date 08/07/24)
We LOVE Olde Towne Pet Resort (Springfield). OTP is my pet’s home away from home and they treat her so so so well! I have 100% trust that they’ll take the best care of my cat while she’s in boarding. My cat is blind so she requires special accommodations she needs when boarding and the OTP family makes sure she gets what she needs during her stay and makes sure she is in an accessible set up. They even send pictures during her stay - which is so helpful to alleviate any stress in my mind while I’m away. Absolutely LOVE OTP and wish there were one in EVERY city!
Olde Towne Pet Resort has been my go to for grooming and boarding for my fur baby. They listen to my grooming needs for her. There was a day that she came back with a yellow stain on all of her paws. I think it was a topical they use to trim her nails and I thought that was strange. However, after mentioning that the first time, I haven’t seen that happen every time I’ve brought her back since. Grooming is weight based and breed/needs based. I have a 8-10lb Scottish fold and pay about $74. A little pricey but we don’t go often. Boarding is great and I love that we are able to video in to see her. I wish they would let her out a little more often but I understand they have many boarders at a time. They definitely take good care of her though and I see how patient the staff are with her. Also, they send photos of her to us every day during boarding which my husband and I truly appreciate.
After some less-than-stellar experiences with other pet hotels, our family decided to give this place a try and I’m really glad we did. The staff are exceptionally friendly and well-trained and our dog, Bowser, has always left this facility in a fairly good mood. The rooms that your pet stay in our specious and have webcams, so there’s zero guilt over leaving your furry friend here. The only small negative is that it does sometimes take a decent amount of time to check in and check out, but this can be mitigated if you arrive at non-peak hours. Really suggest you take your pet here for daycare and boarding if you can!
I am so grateful that we found Olde Towne Pet Resort. We relocated to the area for about 8 months and my two mini aussies loved it here. They went for daycare frequently and sometimes boarding and grooming. They loved all of the employees and were always tired when I picked them up. The groomer listened to exactly what we wanted and did an amazing job. When they stayed for boarding, I was happy I could view them on camera whenever I wanted to. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely be trusting them with my boys.
This is my dogs’s favorite second home. For puppies or seasoned dogs, this is a great place for healthy interaction . He was trained here, all the staff is courteous to his needs, they day-camp feeds him his lunch that I prepare, and the staff is just kind and warm without hesitation. This is worth every dime and I breathe a sigh of relief that they will protect him, love him and treat him like in a love able way.
I recently visited Old Town Pet Resort for the first time to have my cat groomed, opting for the general grooming package. While the haircut was spot on and they followed my instructions perfectly, the overall experience was disappointing. It felt rushed, and they forgot to brush his fur, leaving bits of hair draft still in his coat. I don’t think they used any shampoo, and they missed trimming his nails. I also paid for a deep teeth cleaning, but that didn’t happen. Despite the good haircut, the rest of the service fell short.
We’ve been going to Olde Towne Springfield for a few years. Last year we started working with Megan, their in house trainer. Before having a baby, we wanted to make sure our dogs were fully trained and ready for the new family member. Megan created individualized plans for each dog and we started to work with her on a weekly basis and utilized the board & train option. Megan has been fantastic to work with, heard all of our needs, and helped get us as the owners more equipped to continue the training at home. Since that board & train, we’ve remained in touch with Megan to ask questions and get advice. Our dogs still get very excited to see her and highly recommend Megan as a trainer!!
please stay away from this place if you care about your dog. We left our dog for overnight boarding couple of weeks ago here. apparently another dog attacked our dog. The manager called me after the incident and told me when the dogs were playing “a dog’s teeth got caught up” on our dog. We were told they then took him to a veterinary hospital nearby. The whole day I’m thinking it’s a small bike mark of some sort. When I went to the veterinary clinic to pick him up, I was shocked to see half of our dogs leg was ripped apart. I am extremely upset about how they tried to downplay this incident and shared no other information regarding if they had staff watching the dogs, and why no one was able to pull them apart to prevent such a big injury, how it happen, etc. after multiple emails and phone calls. They did pay for the operation, naturally but the whole thing probably could have been prevented. I will never know the facts.!
Jenn and the entire staff at APC are wonderful! Jenn tailors training sessions for our two Schnoodles, and she follows up with a detailed summary, excellent advice and tips. We're already noticing a difference in our two, and we're so grateful to Jenn. Watson and Dottie are happy to go to daycare, which I never expected!
Had to re schedule my grooming appointment once and that was totally fine and understandable, apparently there’s been some nationwide Canine bronchitis that is going on across the United State and APC sent me the urgent message so us customers can be aware! But Stacey gave my puppy a cute haircut look before Christmas and she did an excellent job! Shout out to all of the APC staff for keeping our puppies healthy and Safe! Stanley and I love you guys!🥰🐶P.S. It is not there fault for getting other dogs sick
I go here mainly to have my dogs' nails cut, as I can't do them at home. Stephanie has the magic touch -- she's always been able to trim their nails, even the super-squirmy pups!
We took our dog to the groomer, but they have other services as well. Cut and wash were ok. Scheduling process is very poor. After waiting a month for the appointment, two days before we get a call and the appointment is cancelled and rescheduled for almost a month later. Three days before that appointment, another call to cancel and reschedule again. No effort to apologize or somehow make up for the inconvenience. Employees are ok and seem to like dogs but not exactly friendly toward humans.
Soooo…let’s start from the beginning. 1.Boarded our pup for a few days due to being out of town. When asking about a transport multiple times because our flight wasn’t going to get in until right before pick up hours, they not one single time, reached out to us about whether or not our pup was going to a transport (we asked multiple times) They kept insisting that she stays for one more night. (1st red flag…) 2. When leaving our pup for day care so they could get acclimated, we asked for a report card. We went to see how our girl is doing and if she is making friends. There are no cameras at affectionate pet care like there are at dogtopia. However, there is a SUPER cute window through the gate. She did three days of daycare and not once received a report card on how she was doing. (2nd red flag) 3. When our pup did get back from boarding, she received a report card. TWO days were documented where she did NOT eat. She gets dinner and she did not eat for TWO nights. No phone call, no email, no text message. How can you let a dog go two days without eating food??? (3rd flag.) 4. Our dog ended up with Kennel cough. They have been sick and coughing (sounds like a horn) for the past few days. They are lethargic and we have been having to feed her chicken and rice. (4th red flag.) We Took our pup to the vet once to her primary vet and then to an emergency vet at the discretion of our primary vet, she was the ADMITTED to the hospital for pneumonia in her right lung. I have talked to the owner, Amy, who said she would NOT be informing pet parents that dogs have contracted kennel cough at her facility. She kept wanting the information out our vet and the hospital she was at to try to meddle in the middle. She has done ENOUGH damage to our poor girl. I HIGHLY suggest you read the reviews that have left dogs injured and sick along with the reviews of previous employees. Not only are the dogs getting sick and injured, employees have also expressed discontent with the “facility procedures.” All in all, our experience with Affectionate Pet Care was NOT good. Lack of communication, understanding, and openness was disappointing. If you truly care about the help and well being of your dog, please do NOT go here.
We love affectionate pet care. They take great care of our dog when boarding. The staff is excellent and truly care for the pets.
My dog Lilly has been going to Affectionate Pet Care since she was 4 months. She loves it there. We do daycare several times a week and have done boarding and grooming. I have been satisfied with each. When your dog can't wait to run in the door, you know they must be doing something right! Only complaint--I wish I could see the dogs playing. Either photos (when boarding), viewing area or live video feed. You can get reports on your dogs day that tell you who they played with, but you don't know the type of dog.
I was told right from the start that "A tired dog is a good dog". All puppy owners should keep that in mind. My puppy Pippa has loved everyday she has spent at APC, from her first day (she was asleep within 2 minutes of getting in the car) to her last. She is the most well adjusted, socialized goofball puppy because of your establishment. For me personally, I can't say enough about the staff. They love their job and it shows in their efficiency and the way they love and care for our puppies. When your dog is excited every time you pull on Pickett St and can't wait to get in the building, you know that they are being well cared for while you are at work or on vacation. I'm by no means a "helicopter (dog) mom" even more so when Pippa has been in the care of APC - I always knew she was in good hands. So thank you all for helping raise the well-rounded goofy puppy Pippa Petals Pittman. We both give y'all 10 stars (or biscuits) out of 5!
Our dogs love going to APC. They enjoy daycare, boarding, and grooming all in one location. They are so happy to see all the staff and their furry friends! They come home tired… in a good way. The staff is caring, professional, always helpful with any concerns. Cullen, Charlotte, and the front desk staff are amazing. We are very grateful to have found such an amazing place for our furries.
Update: Natasha turned this around and she has been amazing! Thank you for taking care of Scooter! It gave me so much peace of mind seeing your updates and pics of him. Appreciate it so so much. And going the extra mile with some home needs that came up while I was out of town 🤩 At the moment giving 3 stars. In the past year or so they had been great. Good communication and took pictures of my dog while I was traveling for work. But this go around with my dog being older I have been trying to be proactive about his elderly needs and hadn’t heard back. I understand being busy as at my work we have been incredibly busy. I am hoping this works out and will update my review after vacation at the end of August.
Kate’s Pet Care is a model of professionalism and customer-service (for both animals and people). I know my pets are in great hands when we need overnight services, a feeding visit, or a walk. Kate’s always goes out of its way to accommodate our schedule and needs. Another bonus? I love supporting a woman-owned small business. Highly recommend.
Kate has watched our bunny for us a few times now. She is knowledgeable about buns and is able to cut his nails and give us tips regarding his care (as we are only second time bunny owners). She came to the house to meet Carrott prior to watching him, talk about the care we wanted, and introduce herself. She sent me updates while we were on vacation, including photos. He was happy and healthy when we returned. I would definitely recommend Kate's K9, including for bunny-sitting needs.
I'm admittedly really surprised given the good reviews for Kate's K9 Pet Care, but they were pretty unprofessional with me. After I replied to their initial email with a meet and greet date from the options they offered, I never heard back from them. This was despite a follow-up email and a phone call. Given that lack of responsiveness, I wouldn't trust placing my dogs in their "care". In addition, in their Pet Sitting contract, they state that if the sitter needs to cancel later than 24 hours prior to the owner's departure, the sitter can find a substitute for themselves without the owner's approval (and it doesn't stipulate anything about who that substitute can be). I was hoping to address this with them during the meet and greet, but given that it never happened, I thought I should make other prospective customers aware of that clause.
Kate’s K9 Pet Care is extremely reliable and we have been so happy with the care they give our pups! We have a nervous dog that warmed up to Kate and her staff very quickly. I highly recommend Kate’s!
Doggy day - absolutely amazing. The staff and the dogs are just amazing. The staff are so engaged with all the dogs. They are so engaged and observe when things seem off with the pups. We are working with Tim (dog trainer) to help my pup and it’s so great because he does it during daycare, after hours and weekends and even comes to our home. Boarding - oh my heart. The citrates little bed and biscuits ever! Plenty of exercise, lots of play and was even able to get him fully groomed. I can’t say enough about the positive experience we have had with this place!
We've been taking our dog to Hometown Vet and boarding him at the Hometown Bed & Biscuits for our away trips since we got him as a puppy. The vets are terrific - we started coming because Dr. Smith is a former Army veterinarian - but our dog is never hesitant to go to the vet, which says everything about the environment there. On the boarding side, they are not one of the larger boarders and will fill up quickly around the holidays, but I have found them very accommodating and willing to work with us on our schedule - more than they really had any reason to! Our Clover enjoys his stays, and is excited when he arrives, knowing that he will be able to play with new dog friends while we are away. While he is always happy to see us when we return, our initial goodbyes are short because he is excited to go with the boarding team. That tells me more than anything else - if our furry family member was not being well treated, he would not be excited to go into the boarding side. Another thing I appreciate is that while they do require some initial day-boarding to evaluate how your pet interacts with other dogs, once that initial period is over, there is no requirement to bring your dog back again before another boarding session like some other boarding operations in the area. Finally, there is a certain peace of mind knowing that we are boarding our family member with his doctor - if something were to happen, he has immediate access to the medical professionals who know him best and have been treating him nearly his entire life.
Tim was the most helpful and understanding employee i’ve ever experienced, when it comes to the care of my dog. He has a natural way with animals and works hard to provide a quality service. I’d recommend him for dog obedience training. If you want your pet in good hands hometown is the best choice.
Hometown Bed & Biscuits was wonderful and able to accommodate a short fuse request for boarding our 7 yo Vizsla. She is typically anxious in these situations, but trotted through the door with a staff member and never looked back. When we picked her up after 4 days, she showed no signs of anxiety and looked great! Thank you to all of the friendly and relaxed staff who took good care of our girl.
The first time we boarded our dog here went fine. The second time we boarded her was file-a-BBB complaint-worthy. She was attacked by another dog during daycare. The daycare supervisor proceeded to violate every single one of Hometown's protocols. 1. They took her to the on-site groomer to get checked out instead of the vet next door. 2. They didn't call the manager who hadn't arrived yet. 3. They didn't call the owner Sam. 4. Most importantly, they didn't call me. I didn't find out until I picked her up two days later. The nice young man checking me out informed me that my dog was attacked and was surprised that no one had informed me. The manager was surprised, too! No one had documented anything. The manager immediately took my dog to the vet next door--she provided me an antibiotic ointment for face abrasions. Both the manager and myself called the owner and left voicemails. After returning home, I identified additional injuries, including a hole in her ear and the most serious wound, a deep laceration on the back of her neck. We took her back to Hometown and the vet gave us antibiotics. It took 5 or 6 hours for the owner to call us back. I demanded a full refund of boarding and daycare fees. That was small comfort for such a clear-cut violation of Hometown's own rules, my dog's safety, and my trust in the facility. If you choose to board here, I recommend asking the manager/front-desk person to verbally review their protocols with you AND provide it in writing. Maybe call everyday just to check on your dog. Clearly, I will never take my dog here again.
My 2 dogs, Annie and Barkley, have been going to Hometown Bed & Biscuits (B&B) and the next door vet for 1 year now. They provide all around amazing services! Annie is a doodle with particular needs. She doesn't like doggy daycares and she can be difficult with groomers. I struggled to find a boarding place in NoVA that didn't require doggy daycare with boarding. B&B has been amazing for her as they don't require her to go to daycare, and they have luxury suites available to make her stay comfortable. The groomers at B&B are also wonderfully patient and her doodle haircuts look so cute afterward! She always leaves her B&B boarding and grooming happy. Barkley is the opposite and LOVES playing with other dogs. B&B has a large window in the lobby to see the doggy daycare. I've hung around to see Barkley play and he has a blast! Their daycare never looks overcrowded and all the dogs they let in are well-behaved. Their daycare space opens up to an outdoor yard for the dogs to get outside time, which is rare to find in NoVA daycares. Barkley also always leaves B&B with a big smile on his face. I saw some negative reviews saying B&B leaves dogs unattended in the daycare facility. I have not seen this at all in the year Barkley has been going to their daycare. There is full view of the daycare in the lobby and front desk with the large window separating the them. I have always seen supervisors on either side of the glass. Also, unlike other daycares I've seen around NoVA, B&B seems selective with their daycare dogs as I always see them calm and respectfully interacting with each other. A calm daycare facility makes the biggest difference with Barkley's behavior when he comes back home. He is so happy and well-behaved when coming home from B&Bs daycare. You can see Barkley's big smile in these pics when Santa visited Bed & Biscuits. All over I highly recommend Hometown Bed & Biscuits services!
I just want to give a shout out to Tim, he has been training my puppies and he has done a beautiful job. My pups are obedient, they are well behaved. When I walk them now, they walk with me, here is no more pulling coming from them. Just wonderful. Thank you Tim.
We take our golden retriever here for grooming and absolutely love how gentle and loving they are with her. She always looks great afterwards and they listen so well to how we like her cut.
We go to Hometown for doggie daycare and our dog loves it. They have an outdoor play area which is his favorite. He's always happy and tired when we pick him up!
I absolutely love Hometown bed and biscuits. My beagle Toby can be a handful so I always get nervous boarding him but they take such great care of him I never have to worry!
We love this service! They took excellent care of our guinea pigs while we were in Europe. Guinea pigs require lots of special care, including a diet with nutritional and vitamin needs, fresh vegetables, fresh water, unlimited hay for digestion, and daily/weekly cage cleanings. Passionately Pets did a stellar job at caring for our furry little friends. Their daily pet journal with photos and special notes on their visits with our pets was a fantastic way to see and read about how our fur potatoes were doing. Their prices were very reasonable, their care was top quality, and their customer service was the best. They also took care of a few other services such as bringing in mail and packages, bringing in the trash cans, and turning off/on lights in the house while we were gone to give the house a "lived-in" appearance while we were gone. On a special note, our pet caretaker was even concerned enough to run to the grocery store to pick up some fresh veggies for our pigs when he ran out. We loved Passionately Pets service and felt our pets were in competent hands. We have used Passionately Pets during two vacations and know that we can trust their services to care for our precious furry little buddies in the furure
Passionately Pets is amazing! We have a tiny puppy and they are the only ones we could find that were willing to come twice per day to let him out for potty breaks and a walk. Plus, they have the same person come most days, which is better for my puppy - rather than always having to meet someone new. They send updates after each walk and the pics are adorable. I trust them completely and would not use anyone else!
Passionately pets has been the best decision we have made since moving back to Arlington. They have been outstanding with meeting our needs and leaving us feeling reassured about getting out of town for a few days as we have a cat that has specific medical needs. Alex has visited our home twice and has done a fantastic job providing real time feedback while we are away. Jenna and Vanna have both been terrific to work with as well. Their website is very easy to use and the consistent updates and support have been wonderful for us. We are looking forward to continuing to work with their entire team!!!
I recently used Passionately Pets to care for my kitten while I was out of town, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the start, Vanna, the GM, was wonderful—she came to my home to meet my kitten and me, which instantly put me at ease. The detailed paperwork during sign-up was thorough and gave me so much confidence in their service. Alex was my pet sitter, and he was absolutely amazing! He was incredibly attentive and sweet, leaving daily notes that tracked my kitten's temperament and how they spent their time together. I especially loved the daily journals Alex submitted after each visit, complete with photos, which made me feel connected and reassured while I was away. Passionately Pets provided top-notch care, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitting service!
I had a GREAT experience with Passionately Pets! I left for a long weekend and was very nervous to leave my new rescue pup with a stranger, but Ashley (our dog sitter) was wonderful! She came and met my dog before I went away and sent detailed reports and pictures from every visit. My dog can be wary of strangers, but he absolutely adored Ashley. Our neighbors had a little party one night and she even thought to turn on soothing music for him to drown out the scary sounds so he could sleep peacefully. I am so glad to finally find a place I can trust to walk/watch my dogs! Can't recommend them enough!
Vanna just stayed with our dog, Marty for two nights with pop-ins during the day while we went out of town for a wedding. I was nervous because we've always had family watch our pets but we recently moved here from out of state so that's no longer an option. Passionately Pets was very responsive to my initial inquiry and set up a meet and greet before I booked the service. Vanna walked me through their different services, patiently answered all of my many questions, and went through the profile I set up for Marty. Vanna ended up also being Marty's sitter for the weekend and did a phenomenal job. She sent pictures and updates throughout the weekend and when we arrived home he was happy and had clearly been well cared for. Marty is still a young dog with puppy energy and is not used to being left for more than 6-7 hours at a time (and never overnight) so I booked the Deluxe Overnight package plus a midday visit each day. The pricing was as advertised on their website. I'm not sure how the cost compares to competitors, but considering that it accounts for 13+ hours/day of time, I thought it was totally worth it for the peace of mind and standard of care that Vanna delivered. 100% I would recommend and will be using Passionately Pets again.
Passionately pets are truly amazing. I’m not sure how they do it (probably great training) but we have had many different sitters from them over the years and each one is fantastic! We never have to worry that our cats are well cared for while we are out of town- they give lots of playtime and love in addition to feeding. The management team is also amazing- helping us find last minute sitters and even having options as we prepared to welcome our daughter. I cant say enough good things about Passionately Pets!
Thanksgiving break was my first time using their pet sitting services and they absolutely exceeded my expectations! Passionately Pets is very trustworthy and they are now my go-to for pet care. I highly recommend them .Specifically, Vanna is the best!!!
Passionately Pets is fantastic! We have been out of town and Mary has not only taken care of our sweet bunny Dhalia, but our garden on this hot weekend! I look forward to her notes and pictures when we are working or out of town. I also know how much Dhalia appreciates passionately pets especially when she gets love, attention, cuddles, treats, and bunny run time! We highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reputable and reliable pet sitter or service
I went out of town for a few days and this was my first time booking through Passionately Pets based on a referral. From the consultation to the actual pet sitting service, everything was seamless. Great communication, friendly service, plenty of pictures, and my cat was taken great care of! Olivia did a great job. I will definitely book again when necessary.
Pooch Pals is a seriously fantastic company, and I am so grateful that I found them last year. Josh, the owner, is very professional and based upon my experiences with our mid-day walker, Jodi, only works with the very best. I was very impressed at the speed at which I was contacted after making my first online inquiry into the services offered, not to mention how accommodating Josh was in scheduling a meeting time with me and my dogs that very same day. Our walker, Jodi, is absolutely fantastic and gives the dogs all of the love, attention, and exercise that they need mid-day. I seriously cannot be more grateful for all that they do for me and mine, and wholeheartedly recommend the company to everyone looking for a walking/boarding/etc service in the area.
Had an amazing experience with Pooch Pals! Micaela took great care of our pup, even though he was scared to meet a stranger she coaxed him out and was as happy as ever when we got home. Also Josh was great to deal with, even going above and beyond to accommodate me at the last second, 5/5 I can recommend.
Josh has been great to work w and highly recommend him for dog walks. He’s very responsive and has a really sound operation running - the app he uses allows you to see exactly when he gets to your house, the route of the walk and when he finishes, then leaves a short review. I’ve really appreciate working w Josh, esp since he’s looked after our pup w care (he let us know when he was sick and even cleaned up after him) and is v flexible w changes (within reason). Highly recommend pooch pals
I've used Pooch Pals for several years and have had great service, including week-long stays at our house when we're out of town. Our two dogs are crazy about Josh and Jodi. One of our dogs tends to be aggressive; Josh is great with him and commands respect while still being gentle.
Where do I start? Josh has been a life savor. My puppy was a monster and now he’s a cute monster. I’ve used all types of services. Him and his team is very prompt and provides the best care for my little one
Josh had been such a lifesaver with our new puppy! We have crazy schedules and he is able to always handle our ever changing needs each week. The entire business is extremely organized and professional.
Worth every penny. Pooch Pals has been walking my three exuberant boxers every weekday since my husband and I moved here last summer. Josh is a true professional who is extremely reliable and always has complete control over my dogs. They watch for him at the front door and run excited circles when his car pulls up. Josh has my complete confidence and highest recommendation.
Pooch Pals has taken care of my dog on several occasions. Josh has developed a true rapport with my dog and it's comforting to see how happy my dog is when I need to leave him there. Highly recommend Pooch Pals! You can feel confident entrusting your pet to their care!
Josh gave us training lessons to practice with our 18 month old puppy. He did a great job demonstrating the intention of commands, explaining the perspective of our dog, and illustrating the positive outcomes. After just a couple lessons, our relationship with our dog improved greatly. Our dog could wait while we greet people, stay back from the table during dinner, and relax around his crate (he’s a crate-traumatized rescue). We also learned a lot from Josh about how to walk our dog so that everyone enjoys the walk (rather our dog tugging and pulling the entire way!). Josh was able to provide the lessons at days/times that met our busy schedule and did so in a friendly, approachable manner. He was happy to take questions and gave additional suggestions for further training to improve recall and social interactions with our dog. Even though we previously had a family dog, we learned A LOT about dogs from Josh, that makes living with our dog and interacting with other dogs so much better. Highly recommend!
We’ve never had a bad experience with Pooch Pals. Our dog is admittedly very loving but she seems to like Josh a lot too.
