I was fortunate to have Hillary return for a second sit. She took excellent care of both my cat and my home. She got on well with my neighbors and even allowed my friend to come visit Suley while she was there. I especially appreciate how flexible and accommodating she was regarding arrangements for a sitter who would be taking over for the second part of my very long absence. All in all, Hillary is a gem!
Hannah and Joseph housesat our three kitties for a week and a half while we were traveling for the holidays. They were very communicative and conscientious. We received daily updated on our cats with cute and funny pictures. When they noticed our 17yo cat, Amber, wasn’t eating very much, they let us know and we were able to resolve the problem quickly. They were also very resourceful and understanding when we ran out of some cat supplies. Hannah and Joseph took great care of the house. Everything was very clean and tidy when we arrived back, and we had a short time to get to know them on our arrival. We would be fortunate to find more house sitters like them, and would of course love to have them back in the future! We wish Hannah and Joseph luck in their travels!
Kerry and Megan were wonderful sitters and took great care of our two cats while we were on vacation for two weeks. They were responsive, gave us regular updates, and seemed to really care about Tumba and Cappa. When Tumba was more timid toward the beginning of our trip and not eating her meals fully, Kerry was sure to ask for additional suggestions from us on how to coax her to eat more. Kerry and Megan also left the house just as we'd left it for them. We really appreciated them going the extra mile to ask about additional cleaning products so they could clean our bathrooms. It felt great to come home and just relax without needing to remake the bed. Thanks for everything, Kerry and Megan! We would certainly entrust our home and kitties to you again in the future.
Best house and pet sitters we've ever had! They definitely gave our cat and dog plenty of love and attention.
Quinn was an amazing sitter for my cat Moon! She regularly checked in with updates on moon while we were away on a two week vacation, and seemed to give her plenty of attention, play with her, etc. Communication was easy and she left our apartment spotless after departing. Highly recommend her as a pet sitter!
Wow! Just wow! We cannot say enough about the care and compassion Trisha and John provided to our cats and our home. We are always somewhat nervous about a new pet sitter in our home, but that all faded when we met this wonderful couple. They provided daily updates as requested, complete with pictures, videos and personalized captions. Upon our return, we were greeted by happy and content kitties. There was no sign of anxiety in Tika! Yea!!! Our home was clean, the sheets and towels were washed and bed remade! They even left behind thank you notes and little gifts! What a breath of fresh air these two individuals are! We hope to have them back again soon.
Ruthee was a fabulous pet sitter for our three cats while we were gone for a month. Prior to the sit, she was consistent and communicative; she even came over early for a meet and greet to learn the routine. During the sit, she took great care of our three cats by playing with them (she made a fun cat toy!), scooping litter, feeding and watering them, and sent us text updates and pictures. We came home to happy fur babies and a clean home. She left the place very tidy which was greatly appreciated! We are so thankful for Ruthee and would recommend her should the opportunity arise. Your fur babies would be lucky to spend time with her. Thank you again for everything, Ruthee!
Catherine was a wonderful sitter for our 17 year old cat Zabba. She sent us pictures twice a day and kept us informed about Zabba’s daily activities. We came home to a clean home and would definitely recommend her as a pet/ house sitter. My only concern was that she doesn’t drive and with an older cat, I just prayed that Zabba didn’t need to go to the vet…. And he didn’t 🥰. We will ask her again for sure.
Lindsey watched our cat and dog for a long weekend when we went out of town. She was a very communicative sitter sending frequent pictures and voice notes with updates. She did a great job of following their schedules and giving them attention. The animals seemed to be happy and relaxed when we returned home and I believe Lindsey enjoyed getting to discover all of the eateries our town has to offer. A win-win for everyone!
Pennee and Bill were the BEST pet sitters and guests ever! I really wanted them to stay forever ! Our cat, Miss Kitty bonded so much to them, that she really wasn’t that happy to see me when I got home .Our cat is a finicky eater and they tried all different types of food and treats for her. They sent me regular photos of miss kitty and I knew everything was great when most of the pics had miss kitty on their lap. Our cat doesn’t take to many people but she immediately fell in love with them. Pennee sent us our mail and prescription meds on a regular basis , and went out of her way to take care of any issues . They fell in love with the neighbors and community and just made our lives so easy . We experienced the Covid 19 virus outbreak quarantine during this time and Pennee and Bill agreed to stay a month longer at our home . They were extremely flexible with their travel plans so that everyone would be safe. Upon our arrival home, we were greeted with a bouquet of flowers , beautiful hanging basket of flowers for outdoors and a beautiful bottle of wine . And our house had never been cleaner ! Bill and Pennee are a pet owners dream couple !I felt extremely lucky to have found such a great petsitter and new friend . We will be visiting each other in the future .
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $30 per visit, per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
Be warned - extremely dirty and unhygienic kennel. Does not allow owners to view the kennels due to “OHS”, so you have no idea whether your dog is sleeping in a filthy kennel, outdoor area is not disclosed, no report card. We have taken our dog here twice for a total of 5 nights. On both occasions our beloved dog was returned to us with a sticky coat, and he smelt horrendous. He also sustained a minor cut to the tip of his nose and staff gave no explanation. Im concerned this facility is not at the minimum standards per the code of practice for boarding establishments. Never returning here again.
Our dogs and cats love staying at PamPurred Pets. The dogs are always happy to walk in with the staff and are bright and happy when we go back to collect them. Added on a bath this time and they come back smelling so nice. The cats are also returned clean and happy. Staff are friendly and extremely accommodating when our schedule changed and I had to adjust days or turn up later then expected. Thank you to PamPurred Pets for taking such good care of our family. Will definitely have our pets stay again if we return to the area.
My GSD stayed here for the first time in December 2023. Staff were incredibly flexible and accommodating to my requests and my dog's needs. Heidi came back a happy girl and the staff did a great job with her wash and groom.
The best cattery and dog sitters in the Mitchell Shire We love thier care and dedication to looking after our Fur baby
Easy to find and conveniently located on the way to Melbourne. When we picked up our dog she seemed a lot happier than she had been when we picked her up from some other kennels we tried. If the dog likes the place then that really speaks volumes. If my dog could speak, I'm sure she would be speaking those volumes too.
First experience, the jury is still out. As a first time for us, I'm not sure any kennel was going to be evaluated "fairly to them", with all the first timer worries etc. On one hand, they know this first timer issue and could have picked it easily in us, and added a little more positivity and reassurance - but it was instead like being in a forcing yards which made those worries much worse. On the other hand, if they had to hand-hold every customer on their first time, maybe they've learnt that it's not worth it - they will still worry and their staff time is wasted on trying? This might also explain the strict "no customers beyond the front door" policy also; too much emotional response from the person is undesirable & might stress out the animal as well? And possibly they're more geared towards kitties than puppies at some deeper level or just the individual work whom I interacted. Our doggie came back a bit timid and withdrawn but bounced back over the next day or two. I guess that's normal after you abandon them a few days like that. So I wouldn't say "never again" but I'm not sure I could recommend PamPurred at this point. It could be the first timer, 'nothing is good enough for my dog' sort of expectations, or it could be an individual who had a bad couple days or doesn't like dogs, or it could be the industry and a widespread lack of time/margins to allow for a more open & reassuring process. I've shared my thoughts for all to make their own assessment, including those with much more experience than I. Good luck!
Thoroughly recommend. Very happy to leave Roxy here knowing she will be well looked after. When we pick her up she is always bright and happy plus, she smells even better than when we dropped her off!! Lovely staff who obviously adore animals.
My cat really seemed to like it here. She was calm and happy when I dropped her off and when I picked her up 15 days later. I have had other not so great experiences with Catteries, here the dog kennels are far apart so my cat was not stressed by the sounds and smells of dogs. booking was easy and staff were friendly warm and animal people. highly recommend!
Lovely people to deal with. Both dogs were very happy and not at all stressed. I highly recommend PamPurred Pets
Pam and her team are just absolutely wonderful. We had out two cats there for three weeks during 2022/2023 Christmas holidays and they were perfectly looked after. Highly recommend PamPurredPets to everyone !!!! Will be using them again.
Appletree boarding has been incredible. My pet is quite an anxious girl and she has thrived here. The lovely staff members have made her feel right at home. The last time I picked her up she walked straight past me because she was too busy enjoying her time there. I was so nervous to leave her but they sent great updates and never make you feel silly for checking in on your pets. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a homely place for your pets!
Customer service is great! They communicate/reply quickly. They have a good cooling system in the kennel. They are very caring to your pets!
Best home away from home for your fur babies. Our Silky Terrier spent three weeks there over Christmas and came home a happy little chap. He loved his time there, which can not always be said when he goes to a kennel. We have definitely found our kennel of choice 😀 Thank you to the wonderful team. …
Our furbaby loves to visit Appletree. She gets excited as we drive up the road. Good value and a really caring crew.
Easy, hassle free experience and friendly staff. My dog had no complaints so I assume her stay was a positive one.
Injury, travel and house renovations have meant we have had our dog at Appletree quite a lot lately, and thank goodness he loves it there! The staff know him as soon as we arrive and greet him so warmly, I always feel comforted knowing he is in caring hands. Thank you!
My dog had a really good time here and was very well look after.
Honestly cannot recommend enough! Not only is Appletree incredibly convenient for anyone heading up or down the Hume (seriously 60 second detour) but the team are so caring, committed and loving to every single animal in their care, I have a rowdy, yet scared of everything gigantic Labrador who we’ve had some real shocker stories with pet sitters, so I get a bit anxious leaving him anywhere but when he’s going to Appletree I don’t even have a moment of concern. A great example is Victoria’s had some major storms the last few days and the team stayed with the animals on Christmas Day with music to try keep all the animals calm.. now that’s true dedication!
Great facility, staff were fantastic, managed a slightly challenging rescue dog with kindness
There’s a reason that this place is known as the “Chiltern Hilton”! Our dog loves going to visit. The staff are caring and fun. We have peace of mind knowing that our pup is enjoying her holiday!
VIPaws Pet Minding - Elaine and the team were fabulous and provided individual care to our extended family of frenchies (3) - (who each have very different personalities and temperaments). Initially, Elaine took me on a tour of the Centre and explained daily routine and that they’d cared for animals with an array of individual needs and requirements….and that they’d also attend to medical requirements if needed. The services included indoor…outdoor areas, heating and cooling and a TV was left on in the background to provide comforting noise / a vib for the pets. Our Frenchies room was like a wee Pet Motel….with special beds, heat lamp, fake grass floor, specials requirements placed on the enclosure fence along with dried flower arrangements adorning each enclosure in addition to an outdoor dedicated grassed area for each pet family… It’s the first time they (3 frenchies) had been left in the care of a professional animal day care centre. So I was a tad worried they (1) may become a little sooky…. We were gone for 3 weeks, I contacted Elaine in the 2nd week to check in…and our pet family had settled in and was doing really well…which definitely made our holidays all the better, knowing they were in great hands. Would I recommend this business - Absolutely! Would I use again - 💯 Thanks Heaps Elaine and Team for the care provided to our extended Family of Frenchies Kobe, Mia and Benson….September 2024
This doggie hotel is exceptional ,well fed and lots of recreational space, went to take him home and Rocky would have been quite happy to stay. Will not hesitate to use paws again in the future.
When it came time to find somewhere to park my fat fur baby for a month was very stressful as sometimes he can be a princess and a pain in the butt.. I am so glad I found V.I.PAWS and once I visited the place all my concerns were gone. The accommodation for pets is fantastic, clean and tidy and very spacious. Elaine was amazing and clearly cares about all the pets that come to visit. I would definitely recommend and certainly will be bringing my fur baby back for another holiday so I can have peace of mind when I am on holiday's that he is safe and being well looked after.
My partner and I very glad we found kennel very close to us within Mooroopna/Shepparton area! We went to in person inspection and dropped off our girl 🐶 for a 2 days stay (including an overnight) we discussed price details everything very reasonable and the kennel very spacious and our fur babies do get good size of sleeping area with little yard to their own! I’m sure that’s very spacious and great for our fur babies who loves their own private wind down time! Looking forward to some Doggy daycare soon Thank you Elaine and Alan xx
I have been taking my 2 Jack Russell's to VIP for years now mostly short stays but have had a long 3 week one both dogs are extremely well looked after and they are happy to go there which makes me happy cannot recommend high enough
Elaine is a very nice host!! This is my second time I'm taking my Snowy there. She's well cared for and in good hands! Beautiful and comfortable kennel for your fur baby!
We went for a inspection and were very impressed with the kennels, modern undercover, roomy with large outdoor area and very clean. Thankyou Elaine we will definitely be leaving our dog at V.I. PAWS Pet Minding
Great place for your dog, looked after great, will be using again .
Best place we have ever been too! Elaine really takes care of your canine family! So clean and open, really affordable!
We are happy with how they took care of Rudi while we were away.
Not having to worry about my girl while I went away on holiday was something that made my holiday far more enjoyable. Coco was cared for by Micki who made us both feel welcome and took great care of Coco whilst I was away . The whole process of using Don't Fret Pet was great with friendly staff who were more than happy to answer any questions and to match a carer to your pet . I would definitely use them again if I plan any future trips away.
5* service from Don't Fret Pet. I met two sets of carers and both inpressed me immediately with their air of competency and experience with dogs. The company matches you up with someone who will meet your needs, so in my case my dog got to sleep on their bed with them at night and the carers would be home for the majority of the time my dog was with them.
Thank you Don’t Fret Pets! I had to make an urgent overseas trip during the Christmas/New Year period and couldn’t find anywhere to leave my JRT, until I found Carole at DFP! Despite the short notice and peak period Carole found me several wonderful options, and she also organised an extension when I was delayed in returning home. My JRT was very happy and his carer was very patient and understanding! I would definitely use Don’t Fret Pets again.
Our greyhound, Bob, was cared for and loved by Jenny for the 6 weeks we were overseas. Staying with Jenny gave Bob a second family and home. Jenny constantly kept updated with photos and news of Bob. It was an amazing and positive experience for us all.
Amazing and top notch service from beginning to end. Staff was friendly and understanding of my situation and put my mind to rest given my urgent overseas trip to find the best care for my dog. Highly recommend and my dog Charlie loved his stay too!
Beatrix and her sister Marie were exceptional in looking after my dog Coco, whilst in Bali for 8 days. She was walked daily, lots of attention and cuddles. I had peace of mind and regular updates whilst away. I highly recommend.
We have been minders for Don't Fret Pet for over 10 years and still love meeting new dogs and seeing our regular visitors return. We try to ensure the dog's owners have a relaxed and carefree holiday knowing that their furry friend is comfortable in a home environment with other dogs to play with.
It was a pleasure dealing with Carole from Don’t Fret Pet. Thank you for finding a last minute sitter for my little dog Skye. Carolyn and Luke were lovely warm people and went beyond expectations with Skye. Thank you!
Jenny, of Don’t Fret Pet came to my rescue when I recently experienced quite a desperate and upsetting time trying to find someone urgently to help look after my two beautiful baby Cavoodles when I had to travel away unexpectedly for a family matter. After a number of options failed, I found Don’t Fret Pet’s number and spoke to Jenny. She helped me organise everything necessary and by the next morning my little fur babies were getting settled in. Jenny took lovely care of them in a very safe environment for a couple of days. She sent me a couple of photos with updates. Jenny was an angel when things weren’t looking too promising. I highly recommend using the Don’t Fret Pet company when you need someone trustworthy and reliable to look after your precious babies. Thank you, Jenny
I have been a minder with Don't Fret Pet for 5 years now and have absolutely loved having a wide range of dogs coming to our home for a holiday while their families are away. Our labrador adores having the company and has made so many new friends as many have become regulars. We treat them as part of our own family and wouldn't have it any other way.
Our fur babies were made to feel welcome and one of the family! Thank you Sandra for not making it a big deal as we all were feeling very emotional leaving them. Highly recommended
We are so appreciative to have Sandra and the team care for our 3 young, much loved, energetic hounds. Living in north east Victoria, Coach House Kennels is in the perfect location for when we head down to Melbourne. Our 2 beagles and bloodhound have come home so happy and content after a fun weekend. We know this would have taken dedication and patience. Thank you!
The staff are fantastic and they have so much fun with our fur baby! We have used their services a few times and we are very happy with them and we are certainly happy with their prices too!!
Borderd our mastiff x the last few holidays there. Staff are friendly and dog loves the place. He just walks into the place happily without a lead. Would recommend
Our dog didn't do so well in a kennel situation whilst we had a family holiday interstate. As soon as they noticed that she wasn't coping, they called us straight away and did everything they could to help our dog. Their care and concern for our dog's welfare was amazing and they continued to check in on her even after she had left the kennel. I highly recommend Coach House Boarding Kennels.
We were nervous to leave our pharaoh hounds at a kennel but we were all at ease right away, the owner was great. We picked up two happy hounds after a stress free night out. Will definitely take the boys there again when next in the area. I especially loved how the hounds walked through the ‘magic doors’ right away.
Our lovely cat stayed at Broadford Kennels on and off for 13 years and now we have our boy Teddy visiting. He always comes home happy, healthy and smells lovely. Very well looked after! Teddy will be back to play soon.
Our old staffy stayed 2 nights and loved it. This was his first time in Vic and I was concerned about the cold nights but he came home healthy and happy, he will be back. Highly recommende this place.
They look after your pet like it is their own.
The coach house is fantastic! Our precious pug stayed for 10 days. Service is fantastic and friendly. Our dog smelt wonderful thank you for his bath. He was very happy and very much at ease. Will be bringing our pug to the coach house every time we go away.. you have our full trust.. thanks again!!! Rose scalzo and Marz
We are absolutely shocked and dismayed by our experience at Waggin Good Times. We arrived to pick up our dog up to find the gate tied shut with ratchet straps and a tractor blocking access. We tried to call the owners, but the phone was diverted, and there was no answer on either number. A person who is familiar with the kennels saw us trying to get in and said he would walk to the kennel site with us to pick our dog up. We walked approximately 1/2 a klm, and there was no one about. All the dogs were howling and barking. We found our dog, his food, and medication. On review, we realised he hadn't had all his heart and epilepsy meds. We also found he hadn't been fed almost all of his food. We had him reviewed by a vet and were told he is dehydrated. The male owner appeared as we were leaving the kennels and stated none of it was his fault. It was an absolutely terrible experience. This place was horrible. Readers, please don't leave your loved pets there.
I had made the mistake of leaving my dog and a year later we’re still dealing with the repercussions of it. They not only incorrectly matched him with the wrong sized dogs, but did not supervise them appropriately! He was placed into a cage with 5 other dogs that were all much larger than him and when we went to collect him, we observed them cornering him in the cage. When the attendant went to go into the space to collect him, one of the other dogs charged out after my dog and the attendant wasn’t able to handle the situation. I ended up going into the dog area to retrieve my dog whilst she dealt with the other dog who went after him. When I picked him up I noticed that he’d soiled himself. When we got him into the car he refused to sit in his bed for the drive home (he’s a great car dog and always sat on his bed and napped!). He ended up on my lap, shivering and cowering under my arm for the whole drive home. He gulped almost two full bowls of water when we got home, appeared to not have eaten for the days we left him there but then he didn’t eat for 2 days after the experience and was out of sorts for weeks. Since the experience he is now extremely reactive to all dogs. We had flagged on his profile that he had issues with bigger dogs and would likely require being in a space by himself due to previously being attacked by a large dog. This request was not accommodated despite making it clear that he was not a good match to dogs bigger than him. He now has severe separation anxiety whenever we leave him and is reactive if we try and go near his food while he is eating. Prior to his stay at this “resort” we had no issues with him being reactive to all dogs or his food, no issues with separation anxiety or any issues arising from other kennels we have used for him.
Dropped our little guy off for a weekend a while back as a bit of a test run for a 2 week stay. Test run went fine and when we dropped him off for his 2 week visit we could barely get a goodbye cuddle as he was that keen to go anywhere that Clint (co owner) went. Picked him up today and he’s happy and very healthy, he’s made friends with a couple of other dogs and his eye drops have been administered as required. Clint & Rachael and the team couldn’t be better. As soon as you drive down the driveway you get the impression that the place is good as the whole property (not just the kennel) is clearly maintained very well. The facilities are excellent and very clean and I’m very confident we can leave our little man with them and he’ll get well looked after.. Thanks guys!
I wouldn't trust my pet with any other business. The staff are friendly, easy going people who take amazing care of my boy. My boy is there every week at doggy daycare and when I go away he is there for boarding. The facility is exceptionally clean and well taken care of. Lots of grass and play areas. I use the shuttle service provided and as you can see on Facebook, my boy loves the ride! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere for doggy daycare or boarding to consider giving them a go, you won't be disappointed.
Yesterday I dropped off four small dogs for safekeeping during my wedding. When making the booking over the telephone, I had requested that the largest, a Jack Russell Cross (Sirius), be housed separately from the four smallest, a Poodle, Pomeranian-Chiquaqua and Mini Fox Terrier. The little ones were put next to a loud, vicious and aggressive guard dog - they were terrified!! My request for Sirius to be put next to the little ones, and the guard dog shifted to Sirius' pen, was met with an aggressive and impatient refusal from the female attendant, with no better excuse than the guard dog was in training and would stop barking in due course. I then had to make a round trip back to my house to pick up some food I had forgot to bring, intending to press again for the Sirius/guard dog switch on my return. I informed the attendant that I would be back shortly; I returned at four minutes past the closing time of 5 O'clock, to be ignored by a car leaving the premises and confronted by a locked, deserted shed. I returned there early this morning, resolved to rescue the dogs from a totally unacceptable and traumatic situation. The guard dog's pen was empty (unless it was out the back in the free run area) and the attendant, again in an aggressive and impatient manner, dishonestly denied that I had requested the Sirius/guard dog switch. I will never go near that place again; their attitude towards both pets and owners is deplorable. They deserve zero stars, I gave 1 for clarity.
Bella loves going there she plays with other dogs and the staff also interact with them. Very pleasant people very accommodating
Our dog loves coming to Waggin Good Time! Can tell that they definitely take good care of her while she’s there and the facilities are great quality. Really handy location just outside of Shepparton
Standout customer service. Can’t recommend there guys for outstanding customer service, modern kennels and care for their four legged guests. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶 five doggos out of five. …
So friendly and helpful I would recommend it for anyone who has a dog. Training is amazing and the change to my dog in a week was amazing. Thanks heaps guys keep up the great work
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOGS HERE !!! WE COLLECTED OUR DOGS AFTER THREE WEEKS THEY DRANK THREE BOWLS OF WATER IMMEDIATELY AFTER ARRIVING HOME THEY HAD BEEN WITHOUT WATER FOR A SIGNIFICANT PERIOD OF TIME. THEY WERE TOO THIN WHEN I COLLECTED THEM AND THE WHOLE PLACE IS OVERGROWN NOT CARED FOR AND NEITHER WILL YOUR DOGS BE LOOKED AFTER !!!!!!
