Love everything about Happy Hound! Facility is top notch and very clean! Laura and staff are knowledgeable, caring and very attentive to the well-being of all their doggy clients! They work very hard to think of fun and creative activities throughout the year while also keeping a well-balanced daily routine for my boy, Stitch. He absolutely adores his time there! Highly recommend!

My Border Collie Hutch has gone to Happy Hounds 2 mornings a week for over a year. The staff is amazing there! They love your dog, watch over them, have fun with them, tell me stories of who he plays with and always praises him! If you have any concerns or questions they are more than happy to give you the time to talk. Hutch always gets excited when he enters the Happy Hounds waiting room which tells the story of how much he enjoys his stay there!

Our dog Rhodie could not be happier attending Happy Hound. Laura (the owner) is a wealth of knowledge and kindness. She treats every dog as if they were her own. Her staff is as dedicated as she is and they all hold each other to a high standard of accountability. Rhodie has a huge amount of energy and she comes home from Happy Hound exhausted. The daycare does a variety of things (arts & crafts/school photos/secret Santa/contests) that really makes you feel like your dog is part of a community. All staff members are able to tell me about my girl’s day at pick up, so you can tell the communication between everyone is clear. Rhodie has made many friends and nearly busts through the car door to get in the daycare each morning. She comes home clean, happy, and exhausted each night ready to snuggle with her family. The facility is SO clean, sometimes I wonder if there are actually dogs there. Especially because the environment is so peaceful, I’ve never heard barking. I feel it’s because Laura does not keep dogs in kennels, and her and her staff have full control over the dogs and the building. We will be loyal customers forever. Thank you for loving our baby just as much as we do!

For the first time I can ever remember Thor actually got my attention to seemingly go outside this morning and I was so excited! Well, he went to the car and nudged the door. Happy hound is literally Ralphies 2nd home. He’s excited to go everyday. Laura and her support staff are the best ❤️ with state of the art filtration, an entire selection of great treats for our pups & the knowledge they share- you can’t go wrong! 2 years in & I couldn’t be happier with them.

We love Happy Hound! Our dog, Gracie, attends daycare twice a week and absolutely loves it. We adopted her a few months ago and started bringing her about a month ago to socialize her more with different dogs and people. Seeing how she's gone from so nervous that she was trying to run out the door the first week to being so much more confident and excited that she can't wait to get there has been amazing. It's also nice that she's EXHAUSTED when she gets home and even into the next day. The owner and staff are all so friendly and answer any questions we have. We did a lot of research into different options before we decided on Happy Hound, and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

We absolutely love happy hound! Our Shepherd is enjoying going 3 days of week and training while she is there! Laura is great with any questions regarding her health or dog food!

Happy Hound Daycare has been such a big help to us! The life skills training Loki, our now 3 year old mixed breed rescue received helped him to pass both his AKC CGC- a & b certifications. He loves to go to Happy Hounds and see his pack! Laura and her team always demonstrate their care & concern for his well-being as well as being firm with him when he needs it. Great place for our two dogs to stay. Very clean and doesn't smell doggy. The owners are very nice and selective with their guests. Fair prices too. We will board our dogs there again.

I am grateful to Cait and the team at ShagBark Inn for taking care of our dogs while we were away for an extended period. This was the second time we boarded our dogs there, and I wouldn't hesitate to send them again. The facility is clean, well-organized, and very comfortable. Cait and her team are amazing! This was the first time boarding my dogs so I was nervous but as soon as I met Cait and saw the facility, I knew that they would be in good hands. She sent pictures of them & always responded when I reached out to check on them. I recommend to anyone looking for a place for their dog to get lots of play time and human interaction as well. After having a bad experience at a different pet boarding place, my boyfriend and I chose to bring our girl to Shagbark. Best decision we ever made. We feel comfort knowing the owners live on the premises, and our dog is ALWAYS so excited to go. The minute we pull into their driveway, she starts wiggling. When she’s taken back for boarding, she doesn’t even look back at us, she just wants to go play. We can’t recommend them enough.

We did a tour for future reference. The kennels were very clean and full of happy dogs. No doggie smells at all! The exercise yard is graveled, decent size and also very clean. We enjoyed meeting with rhe owner. And got great answers to all our questions. Decided it's a great kennel to trust with our 3 furry kids!

My GSP has been going to Shagbark Inn daycare for almost a year now. My dog gets so excited when we pull in. He absolutely loves it there. Cait takes great care of the dogs. You can tell a she truly cares about them. We are very lucky to have them in town!

So pleased to have this gem right here in town. When faced with boarding our 7-month-old boy or skipping vacation, the ShagBark Inn saved the day. Thanks to their dog-centered facilities and clear love of the pups, we were able to leave our boy for four days, knowing he was in good hands. When we picked him up he looked great, having spent a few days playing with other dogs, getting fresh air, and running around--and he smelled great too (like he'd just had a bath!). Thoroughly impressed and grateful!

This place is truly a blessing! We were looking for a day school for our puppy and called and visited many. My husband and I both work long hours so wanted to ensure our puppy was being stimulated and challenged. The whole staff here is wonderful! Our puppy has been going here for 5 months and always starts wiggling as soon as we turn into the facility. They do field trips (see photos), hikes, one on one time, obedience training, play group and tailor it to your pup. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is! Thanks Kate and crew for taking such good care Of Max.

Brought our high energy very smart Collie to them for Puppy School and just re-upped because we get so much help training and socializing her from the wonderful staff at Katalyst. You can tell how passionate everyone who works there is about working with dogs.

My dog is going to day school once a week for personalized training. She has already improved and still has 4 weeks to go. Very personable trainers and staff, very clean facilities.

Maisie is completely in love with all the people there. They treat every dog with so much love and care, we don’t even mind being away from our puppy when we go away! Knowing she’s in good hands and having a good time, takes the burden out of leaving her. She really enjoys puppy kindergarten, where she gets to socialize with dogs her age and burn some energy. They even do photoshoots for special events such as holidays and the pups birthdays!!

I just picked up my puppy from a 6 day stay with Katalyst Kennels in Litchfield. I will definitely be bringing her back again. What a wonderful place! My puppy was very well cared for. She was exercised to her heart’s content & she even made friends! I received texts with pics of PepperLu on her puppy vacation. I knew I had chosen the best place for my girl. The staff was very professional accommodating for us on our first trip/stay for our dog. They offered for us to come see and tour the spot. Upon drop off (first time our dog was in a kennel) the people were so friendly and knowledgeable! We picked up our dog three days later and he was well taken care of and loved! We signed up for the training classes (there's a wait-list). No hesitation about recommending this place.

I acquired a high energy Vizsla puppy at 11 weeks old with an acute hunting instinct and eagerness to run. Singlehandedly training the puppy proved to be a challenge. The head trainer at Katalyst Kennels, Kate Graham, came to my rescue, bringing the experience, training skill, discipline, and understanding of dog behavior that made all the difference. As a result of a couple of 2-week private training sessions led by Kate, the Vizsla's behavior both outdoors and indoors has improved markedly, especially the dog's recall and responsiveness to basic commands. I can now enjoy the dog's extraordinary athleticism and sweet disposition without the stress of her wandering off-leash or engaging in destructive behavior. I highly recommend the team at Katalyst Kennels for dog training, especially high energy sporting and working dogs like mine.

Wonderful facility with lots to offer pets and their owners. The training classes are fantastic, and the knowledge and experience of the owner, Katelyn, is unmatched. I wouldn't trust anyone else to take care of my pups while I'm away, and I know that the staff loves on them and treats them as their own. I have two very small dogs and know that they are safe and well cared for when they are here.

I really wanted to love this kennel as the reviews I read were excellent and when I met Kate with my small puppy she really impressed me. However, the actual experience of my miniature poodle attending puppy kindergarten was not as described and turned out to be a huge disappointment . The trainer( not Kate) seemed to ignore the needs of my puppy while allowing a much larger and highly amped up puppy to be overly rough with her and make her yelp. I reported it to Kate via email but rather than call me to discuss possible modifications , we were basically kicked out. I witnessed the aggression towards my puppy but it was minimized by staff. I understand that sometimes certain situations and people can be a bad fit, but not having a conversation about a reported problem with a customer is just poor customer service and impolite. The situation could have been handled in a much nicer way; that is the biggest disappointment here. I would also add that if you are the owner of a smaller breed , sadly, this kennel may not be the best place to seek training etc.

I recently had Humble Hounds take care of my two pups while I was away on vacation, and I was super impressed! One of them is diabetic, so I was a bit nervous, but Niki was amazing! She sent lots of updates and photos, which really put me at ease. You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I'll definitely be reaching out again next time I need someone to watch my dogs. Highly recommend Humble Hounds!

Niki dog sits for us and she’s great with our shy/nervous rescue dogs. Shes very patient and very good with them. She was really invested in getting to know our dogs and have them be comfortable with her. She is easy to work with and you can trust her in your home. She’s a kind person who understands what our dogs need. We highly recommend her services.

First off Niki is a literal angel. We used Niki/Humble Hounds for our wedding to care for and bring our pup Bellini to our wedding venue for photos and over night boarding. Niki was so professional, on time, and helped us to feel so comfortable from the start as this was Bellini’s first overnight without us. She was a wonderful wedding attendant and I would recommend her to anyone. She even took the time to send photo updates and create a custom wedding gift from our pup. We will absolutely be using Humble Hounds again! Thank you so much❤️

Niki was absolutely phenomenal with watching our dog, Coco for 2 separate family vacations we had planned. Niki goes above and beyond to make sure our fur babies are well taken care of! It was a great feeling to know that Coco felt more than comfortable to be there. We loved getting the daily pictures as well! Highly, highly recommend Humble Hounds!!

I cannot say enough about Humble Hounds! I am so happy I was recommended to use their services. I definitely do not regret a thing! I was so hesitant at first. I am one to never ask for help. I recently went from one dog to two. Phew! Not easy but wouldn’t change it for the world. Now that I have humble hounds to help out. it has been truly helpful. To know I found someone that is trustworthy, reliable, respectful, kind, friendly and more! All great things. It is so easy to use their app! They communicate very well. Even deal with more my anxiety than the dogs. So far I have never had any issues. Thank you Niki and Madi for taking such great care of my fur babies. So far I use them for the 30 min drop in visits and quick drop in visit. Humble hounds really take the stress out of knowing the dogs are in great hands. Get to go out, eat, ect and are not alone all day. Madi and Nicki stay the whole 30 min every time and send me pictures and an update on the visit. Very respectful and friendly! . It is such a relief to know pepper and Maci are in great hands! Especially with their high energy! They even give them cuddles and talk to them which is Awesome! Niki was amazing! She took care of my 2 dogs and 3 cats while I was out of town. All my animals loved her, she took such good care of them. She was great communicating when she was on her way and always sent updates and pictures. I will definitely continue to book her for future pet care needs

Niki and Jayda at Humble Hounds are a perfect fit for me, always timely and with the energy to match my growing puppy! Although he still enjoys breaks in the shade, his ability to have productive walks has improved tremendously thanks to Jayda's dedication and encouraging demeanor. I really like the visit summary text messages, complete with pictures, including a map of their "journey". I'm comforted to have such trustworthy help available locally!

I always have trouble leaving my cat alone for long trips but these guys made me feel so great about him being taken care of. Every day I got an email report with info about how he was doing and pictures. They will go above and beyond and provide great peace of mind. I needed a dog sitter for the week of July 4th and even though I asked about 3 weeks before, Nikki found the time to schedule me in. We have a regular dog sitter so I was hesitant to use any one else because we love her so much! Kareena was our sitter through HH and she was AMAZING! She sent reports and pictures of my sweet happy pups at every visit. She was very patient with my little guy being only 7 months old crate training but still having some accidents. I can’t say enough about HH and the comfort I felt leaving my boys after day 1. I will 100% use them again and also refer my friends to them. Daycare is amazing. Drop-off and pickup easy and quick. I enjoy seeing my dog on the fb posts during the day. He seems happy and cared for while I am able to focus on my human work :) They fill up fast so book early. Boarding is convenient and simple. Staff is helpful and welcoming. I feel like my dog is treated with love. Rates are reasonable. It is easy for me to schedule boarding or daycare using the online portal.

We adopted an eight year old dog who happens to be anti social with other dogs but loves people. Ivona and the staff worked with him so he would get the attention he needed when boarded. As the owner of a "problem dog", I was comforted that he would be in good hands at a home away from home. Our past energetic terrier dogs stayed at Cherry Brook Kennels and loved going there. I highly recommend their kennels for their commitment to the dogs well being and needs.

Cherry Brook took such incredible care of my dog, and they made me feel so comfortable. I struggle to leave her and we were away for 9 days! They posted daily pictures of her having fun every day, made sure she was happy and safe, and gave me a thorough update about how she was doing when I called in halfway through her stay. I’ll definitely leave her with Cherry Brook again.

I boarded my two dogs with Cherry Brook for a few weeks when I was away taking care of family. The entire staff was nothing short of amazing and took care of my dogs like they were their own. I wouldn't bring my pups anywhere else and will continue referring friends and family to them. Couldn't be more thankful for this Kennel. 10/10

Charlie loved his time at Cherry Brook Kennels! The staff was very kind and helpful as a new client. They were very responsive to my messages to make sure that he was having a fun time while I was away.

There are a lot of things to worry about when you are away for a week or so…house, cars, mail, etc. Without a doubt the biggest worry of all was the care of our two dogs. That being said we chose Cherry Brook for the care of our beloved pets a second time. Why you may ask? For one, is communication. Before and during their stay they return any questions you may have quickly and completely. Secondly, they post daily pics via the kennel’s FB site. You get pics of your pups playing and having a good time. Lastly, the staff. What more can I say. They are professional to say the least but more importantly, they really express a concern to make your dog’s stay a good one. I will without a doubt use them again in the future and have also recommended them to family and friends well. Great job Cherry Brook….Daisy and Georgie give you two paws up!

I had such good experience leaving my Miniature Dachshund Max here for a long 5 day weekend for my wedding! The facility is soo nice and clean and the owner and staff were so helpful and polite!! We loved that they posted a lot of pictures everyday on their facebook page! Made it super easy to check in and see how he was doing! Would highly recommend and I will definitely be using them again!!

Such a wonderful spot!!! The staff are so sweet and really take notice of your dogs and their personalities. The photos they upload, report cards, use of the application are all great and convenient. My girls a happy and tired girl every time I pick her up from daycare!

We have been sending our dog Rio here for more than a year and it has been a wonderful experience so far. Rio jumps with excitement when we mention the name ‘daycare’. We even cut our morning walk short so that he can enjoy the daycare with his friends as much as he can and doesn’t get overtired. The staff at Roaring Brook are so friendly and take great care of our Rio. They let us know when Rio has had a good day, eaten his food, taken a nap. They even know Rio is our dog when we go to bring him back in the evening. We have also tried their boarding service which has also been a great experience.

I scheduled my dog at the kennel 4-5 weeks in advance. I had to prompt them to find out if my submission was even accepted. Then, five days before my wedding and when we were supposed to use the kennel, they told us we needed to do a bunch more things to allow our dog to stay, even though no one (not the vets or anyone at the kennel) mentioned it was necessarily or needed. He was up to date on vaccines and vet visits, but it wasn't enough. We hired a pet sitter who then told us this kennel barely even gives the animals any one on one time anyway. I'm glad we did not go with them. Their communication was sub-par at best.

Made an appointment for my dog over the phone for his “trial” to make sure he was a good fit. When I arrived I did not find anyone working there to be overly friendly or welcoming. I was told over the phone that my appointment was for 9 am today yet told when I arrived they don’t start until 9:30 - the person I spoke to on the phone also told me that they would be reaching out to my vet for the vaccine info and that was never done, so I had to scramble to get them records when I arrived. I am shocked this place has good ratings. I had a very bad first impression and will not be returning.

I would give more than 5 stars if it were possible! My dogs have boarded and been in daycare at Roaring Brook for many years and I have been nothing but pleased with the care they received. The head groomer is fantastic!! She has meticulously groomed my dogs (collies, not the easiest breed to groom) for two decades. They have all been happy to go for their "spa" days every month, love her, look fantastic when they come home.

I can't say enough good things about Roaring Brook Kennels, as well as Roaring Brook Vet. We have several cats who we boarded at the kennel for a couple of days when we moved. They were so well cared for. The practice cared for all of our cats and our dog. They provided the best quality, compassionate care for our pets throughout all stages of their lives. And then there's their groomer, Gina. Best. Groomer. Ever. She truly cares for all of her furry clients and is truly the best in her field with both dogs and cats. I cannot recommend Gina and this practice highly enough!

My little mutt just went for her first weekend boarding experience and had a total blast! Loved getting her "report card" and hearing about her adventures and new friendships in daycare. Totally accommodating with flexible drop off and pick up time options without racking up extra charges and a wide range of custom packages to suit your pups needs each visit. Well worth the few more miles to know she is so well cared for and adored by the staff there.

Roaring Brook Kennels and Veterinary Hospital is an amazing facility with a staff that truly cares for your animals during their stay. Whether my dog Bruce is there for half or full day of Doggy Day Care I know he is in good hands and comes back exhausted and fulfilled. They even give him a bath which is amazing! During the times when Bruce is not able to come On vacation with us... I send Bruce on vacation to Roaring Brook Kennels. Here he spends his days playing with the staff and the other dogs boarding as well. I have personally seen a huge improvement in Bruce’s behavior during his time spent at the kennels... because they make sure he is happy and gets his engery out. The staff is extremely attentive to him and all the dogs under their care. I have witnessed on more than one occasion the staff snuggling and assuring a new comer who is nervous that it’s okay and they will have fun as well. I can personally say that having a place like Roaring Brook Kennels to care for my dog puts a lot of my worries behind me. Thank you to all the staff at the kennels, Gina the groomer and the doctors upstairs for taking such great care of my boy Bruce!! Xoxox

I left my dog there for nearly a month and from the time I dropped her off as hard as it was to leave her there I knew she would be taken care of! This place really cares about your pet, they emailed me about anything that came about and I felt very comfortable that she was in good hands! When I got back and brought her home it was as if she was at home the whole time, she was happy, excited and of course healthy! A great place to bring your pet for boarding and day care! They even washed her blankets and gave her a bath the day I picked her up, very impressive.

Gave my dog RINGWORM which is impossible to get rid of and very uncomfortable for my dog. Overall I think the kennels are unclean and unprofessional. They smell awful the second you walk in the door which no other kennels I’ve been to smell that bad. Only makes me think about what the kennels are like if it smells that strong in the lobby. They washed my dog and left her in the crate dryer for hours and she still smelled disgusting when I got her back. Would never board my dog here again or recommend to anyone. Very disappointed in this kennel.

When picking up our pet we were asked to assist with getting him into the carrier. We got a glimpse of the back kennel. I was shocked at how filthy the place was. The kitty condo was beyond dirty, the walls were stained and it smelled like it hadn’t been washed or cleaned in months. Initially when we dropped our pet off, we brought a blanket to try and make his stay as comfy as possible. His blanket was thrown on a shelf and a dirty pillow case was provided for him to sleep on instead. I received a phone call later that day from the manager. She was full of excuses and not truthful. She should have just addressed my concerns and apologized - you gotta OWEN IT! Very upsetting for our family and our pet.

I have had my share of boarding kennels over the years and I can tell you by far Magnolia is the best!!! They offer so many options from daycare full days, half days and full overnight boarding. You can tell they honestly care so much about the dogs, i would not have my German Shepherd stay anywhere else! Typically kennels put your dog in a small run all day with some slots of play but Magnolia has "come all and play together mentality". He comes home so tired and absolutely loves it at his second home!

We are so happy to have found Magnolia Hill pet resort for our dog. The fenced in grounds are beautiful. There was a lot of room to run and places to relax in the shade. The agility course was an extra bonus. The staff was professional, courteous and well experienced. I felt as though they were very intuned to our dogs personality immediately. The inside is immaculate!! Our dog loved relaxing on the couch. This a fantastic home away from home for your dog. We will definitely return!

We had such a great experience leaving our dogs at Magnolia Hill Pet Resort. As any pet owner knows, it's really stressful leaving your animals in someone else's hands, but those folks made our trip out of the country stress free. We loved the different options of boarding and were thrilled with the private suites that provided human beds for our dogs to sleep on. And having someone there all the time made us feel great knowing that our companions had full time companions. Such a great concept and place. Thank you all for such an extraordinary service.

My chihuahua has been coming here for 3 years. She is considered special needs due to her collapsed trachea, and ruptured knee caps. Chris has taken very good care of her, administered her meds, followed her special dieting restrictions, and temperature controlled environment needs while I was away. I was very nervous leaving her in someone else's care, and finding a place that was able to care for her needs was extremely difficult, since she needs her own suite that is temperature controlled and little excitement. My chi chi is so happy with Chris, always wagging with joy to come for her stay. I'm beyond grateful for him and Magnolia. This place truly is a hidden gem.

The Magnolia Hill team and facility are exceptional. They demonstrated great care with our rescue pup Tippy when we were exploring options for dog socialization and daycare. We trusted Chris was looking after our cherished pet like his own. The facility is safe and gives the dogs their own space to freely express their personalities. Tippy has come to enjoy her visits to Magnolia Hill and has become much more comfortable and interactive with other dogs. We love seeing her exhausted after a good day of play. Plus, we have never picked up Tippy dirty or with the signs interaction with aggressive dogs. The added benefit is the flexibility of the onsite management. On occasion, we have had unplanned dog care needs. Magnolia Hill has always worked to accommodate. We are happy to provide our highest recommendation.

We love how well Chris takes care of our dogs and how they are never in crates. Our pups have been going here since 6 months old and we wouldn’t recommend any other place!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie and her amazing staff at Magnolia Hill Pet Resort. Not only was my dog Wall-e happy to arrive at this homelike luxury pet resort, Wall-e had an amazing time while I was away. We will definitely be returning. If you care about your dog like I do, this is the absolute best place for them to stay!

I was quite apprehensive about leaving Misha for the first time anywhere so, I called Misha’s vet and asked her if she could recommend a place. Without hesitation, she recommended Best Friends pet Hotel in Avon Connecticut. I called and asked lots of questions. It sounded right. The morning I dropped Misha off, the attendant assured me that she would be well cared for, and I could call during the week as often as I liked to check on how she was doing. I waited a couple of days before calling and was told that the first day she was Not happy and not eating. From day two on she was happy, loved to play with the attendents and was eating well. No problems at all. I highly recommend Best Friends pet hotel. I plan on going on a three week vacation and will board Misha there for the entire time without any concerns for how well she’s being cared for.

We have used Best Friends in Avon for over 20 years with 2 different dogs with totally different personalities. Our current dog is very shy. But he is a climber. They have found ways to manage him and keep him safe. They love him and all the dogs. I recommend Best Friends Avon.

My dogs love coming to doggy day camp but what really makes the difference at Best Friends in Avon are the staff. They are very friendly, professional and reliable . We also use the groomer and she is also excellent. Thank you for taking the best care of Hope and Milo !

This was the first time using best friends pet hotel in Avon CT and overall it was a pleasant experience. My dog had a great time and they said she was an angel there and was very social with the other dogs. Fair with pricing including added in perks. Only minor issue would be difficulties finding out the drop off hours and even though we got there later they told us for next time and still checked her in with no problems.

Very comfortable leaving my small dog there, they are very kind and gentle with him. I can call and check on him and they never make me feel uncomfortable. Staff is great!!

The team at Best Friends Avon takes excellent care of Sandy both during doggy daycare AND when she boards overnight. We know she is extremely safe and happy because they take the time to know her and care for her on individual basis. LOVE Team BF Avon!

We booked a stay for our 2 goldens last summer while we were out of town and they had the best time! We got photos for reassurance, which was so nice. One of our dogs would get hives whenever he would be boarded or even went grooming because he would get so nervous, but this never happened to him with Best Friends. They come home happy every single time! We can’t recommend Best Friends enough!!

My dog loves going there. The staff Is amazing, especially Angel and Destiny. It’s very clean the dogs are very well taken care of and they have so much fun playing outside. I even had my dog room there and was very pleased.

My dog stay at best friends from 11/26 to 12/10/24 She looks healthy and happy! I personally will highly recommend them.

I have been coming to Best Friends for years for grooming with several dogs and a cat. They always have great personable service, reasonable rates and do wonderful work. My last visit included a rough Collie and 5 pound puppy grooming, they did a great job and my babies are even more adorable, clean and comfy.
