Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

Kendra was a great cat sitter to Genepi and she truly is a cat whisperer. Genepi usually takes 4 days to make friends with a new person but she came out and made friends with Kendra Day 1! Kendra regularly sent wonderful videos and pics of Genepi purring happily. The apartment was neat when we returned and our garden was blossoming. Would absolutely ask Kendra to sit again and highly recommend her. Thanks Kendra!!
I never met Joi because due to her work, she arrived after I left and was gone before I returned home. This wasn't a problem at all. She was very self-sufficient and seemed to find all that she needed in my house. The house looked exactly like I left it and my cat seemed very content when I returned. Apparently they had a nightly routine of Luna getting brushed. Joi is a very experienced sitter and it shows.
Kathy and Ron have sat for us several times in the past and have always been excellent. They are our "go-to" pet and house sitters and we always check their availability before we post a sit. They are trustworthy, organized, communicate very well, and take great care of our cats and our house. We hope they will continue pet sitting for many years to come!
We are thoroughly pleased with and impressed by Daniel's kind, generous, and careful care of our cat and our house. He is a committed and experienced sitter who completely understands his role and responsibilities and also how to gently win the confidence and affection of a pet. He is an excellent communicator, and he kept us regularly up to date on our cat's well being--sending us texts and photos at least once/week as we requested. Our cat who is a little afraid of new people, grew fond of him, and we have returned to a very calm, contented cat. We highly recommend Daniel, and we ourselves would be thrilled to engage him again when the need arises.
Stefany helped me out big time by stepping in when I asked. She's a local sitter and I wasnt' having any responses so I contacted her and she fit me into her schedule even during the holidays and right after another sit across the country. She took great care of my two cats and home and I very much appreciate it!
Kimberly was a wonderful sitter who watched our two cats for us while we were out. She was willing to come a day early to help acclimate herself with the animals, and this was exceedingly helpful in making sure the cats would be comfortable with her during our absence. I would highly recommend Kimberly if you're looking for a responsible, caring sitter.
Wow, what a find Justin is! I feel as though I won a lottery. As I was revelling in the communication we were having during his stay, I looked over his profile and realized either that he had updated it during his stay OR I never even read it. I was so impressed with his initial application that described multiple stays taking care of cats in Turkey that I knew he was going to be a great choice. So I'm not sure that I even read his profile or reviews. Turned out...he was more than I could have EVER hoped for. Justin is VERY organized and clear with his communication. Just as--or maybe more--important, he is a poster child for what zeewoi can be: more than just an economical way to get a pet sitter or a place to stay. Justin embraces the barter economy and the opportunity it presents to get to know people. Although we only met the day that I turned the house and my 2 cats over to his care, we had delightful communication throughout his stay. He wanted to be sure he was providing the right care to all living and non-living elements of my home as well as just chat beyond what we'd had an opportunity to cover when we were face to face on the handoff day. Bottom line: I'd have Justin back even if I wasn't going anywhere! I've met a friend. And my neighbors did as well! Oh yes, and my two cats were well looked after, the house was in ship shape, and Justin was able to brief the next sitter in person (I'd had to extend my time away and Justin already had another commitment). To say I felt confident leaving my pets and home in Justin's care is an understatement. Justin is a real adventurer and believer in the power of both human and animal connection. Without a doubt, I would recommend him as a sitter...and a friend! Thank you, Justin for a great example of how to wrestle so much more meaning out of zeewoi.
My partner and I left our cat Mango in Lindsey's care for a month so that we could get married. We were going from FL to ME, so it was a long way from home. We were gone for a month. Picking the right houses sitter was important. We are so glad we picked Lindsey (and she picked us). From before Lindsey got on her plan to fly down, until she was back home again Lindsey was communicative, considerate and positive. We felt like we had a family member staying at our place and because of who she is, Mango and our home's well being was a weight off our mind during the wedding. If the need arises in the future we will definitely be giving her the right of first refusal. Thank you so much Lindsey!
Kathryn was such nice and kind sitter that both of my boyfriend and me were grateful to have, including my cats!! My cats seemed having great time with her, being around her, chilling on couch with her, or even sitting on her. I got several photos of my cats from her with whort updates. I’m thankful that she let me do facetimes with her when I missed my cats. The house was clean and tidy when we came back. I definately will ask her again to sit my cats and house when I need. Thank you Kathryn!!:)
We've had many pet/house sitters over the last few years and Cat and Eugene will reside at the top of the list of favorites! From my first email with Cat I knew I liked her. She has all of the qualities of a good house and pet sitter: Reliable, a good listener, organized, flexible, caring, and honest. She and Eugene arrived exactly on time for our pre-sit visit, where they got to meet Maya and become familiarized with the house. It was a delight to visit with them and become comfortable knowing Maya would be in good hands. Our scheduled dates changed somewhat and they were extremely flexible and easy going about the changes. Upon our return home, we found the house pretty much in the exact condition we left it in. I can tell that great care was taken for Maya and for the house. Maya seemed to still be looking for them the next day, wandering around the house wondering where the other people who loved her went. I would recommend Cat and Eugene for anyone looking for reliable, kind, respectful, caring, tidy, and honest sitters. If I am lucky, I will get to have them back to sit for me again.
Is it better to board cats or leave at home?
Veterinarians advising to leave cats at home with a pet sitter who will stay overnight in your home, boarding is not recommended for cats as they are stressed in a new environment, you can find a sitter who will care for your cats and home overnight at Sittsy.
How much should you pay someone to watch your cat?
At least $20 per visit, $21/week per overnight watching in your home, otherwise you can find a free sitter at Sittsy.
What do people do with their cats when they go on vacation?
Inviting a cat sitter to your home, boarding the cat with a local business, asking a friend, family or neighbour to feed and check the well-being. The most efficient way to leave your cat during your vacation is with Sittsy cat sitters overnight, in this way, you will save cat sitting costs and make vacation not only for you but also for your cat sitter!
High praise to all who have helped run Totowa Petco Playcare smoothly over the last 9 years… my dog LOVES this place! He can tell when we pull into the parking lot ‘it’s going to be a great day’! This facility is clean and properly maintained. With 3 pens (2 lrg + 1 med) that have washable doggie couches, chairs, modular cubes etc. Aside from the necessary constant clean-ups, everything (they use a hose w/environmentally friendly germ killing solutions) is also sanitized each night so it’s ready the next morning for play to begin all over again. There is a feed area ‘dining room’ where dogs are separately taken to eat in peace if you so choose to pack your pooch a lunch box with a meal/snacks. And because they are located inside of Petco, grooming services can also be obtained. I have requested a few baths or just nail clippings over the years, and it’s such a convenience to drop off my pup for Playcare and pick him up happy and groomed. And lastly, none of this well done day-to-day canine dance could be accomplished if it weren’t for the outstanding Playcare staff. All of them are dog lovers and the dogs know and love them too! They are friendly and professional and ensure everyone (not an easy task) plays nicely together. My dog returns home happy, exercised (sometimes he’s asleep on the ride home) and I believe less stressed. And I too am happy and less stressed knowing he is safe and in great care. They don’t advertise, it’s all word of mouth. They’re that good. -H.W. *Side note: Being able to play with all different canines has helped socialize my dog. A perk of Playcare that my family and friends also benefit from. For less than the cost of one walk from a dog walker you and your dog get so much more… who says money can’t buy you happiness? ;)
This place has been great for us. My dog comes home good and tired. Everyone there treats the dogs very well and they are attentive to the needs of other dogs with medical issues and such. Friendly, knowledgable staff, good hours for us working folks, and Sam is always happy there.
Pooch play is a very valuable place for me and a safe environment for my dog Kiko! The staff there looks generally pleased and happy to be there and look like genuinely happy dog lovers. How could they not be being around so many big dogs would really intimidate me! As soon as I mention Pooch play to my dog Kiko his ears perked up and looks forward to getting there. Once we get to the door of Patco he knows exactly how to get to the door of Pooch play on his own desperately scratching the door to get in. Pooch play is a great service especially when it's raining for 3 or 4 days or snowing it's a great Outlet for my dog Kiko to release his stress of being in the house for too many days in a row. For only $15 for 5 hours you can't beat it. The only thing negative I have to say about Pooch play is that they're not open on Sunday.
The idea is great, but the service is poor and does not adhere to the wonderful promises made on Petco's website. I have left my dog at this establishment several times during the past couple of months and here are my observations: 1. Dogs are separated by size and possibly temperament. While the area for the big dogs is cleaned regularly, the one for the small dogs is neglected for hours. Dogs in the small suite have peed at several places (yes, you can see it on the webcam), and no one, repeat, NO ONE, came to clean the area up or even refill the water bowls. 2. The website indicates that the employees play with the dogs to entertain them. During the 2 times that I observed the suites via webcam, no one played with either the big, but specially the small dogs. They were just laying around, bored/tired, and in their or some other dog's pee. 3. The place is understaffed. Two-three people, three suites (one of which is often closed with almost 20-30 large dogs squeezed in the other). Of them, one moves between the front desk and playsuite. As I mentioned above, the concept is great and an affordable option for some dog-owners. But, the place needs to hire more employees who genuinely enjoy their job, and who would gladly play with their canine buddies. The place is lacking in constant cleaning and replenishing of water bowls...maybe because it is understaffed? Hope the management takes the right steps to improve the quality of this invaluable service.
Our dog loves Pooch Play! Great exercise & socialization especially in bad weather. He's been going now for 4 years! It's his home away from home 🐶💙 …
I have been bringing my dog to daycare now for 4 years. Staff is great, they are knowledgeable, patient and are always making sure dogs are safe, rates are reasonable. I definitely recommend trying it out
They are wonderful and take great care of my little doxie :)
Great staff and place for my dog to run around!
Thank you Cherie, Tania and Yvonne for taking great care of Fiji for us🙏 We were faced with using a boarding type facility... We have in the past, however, having our elderly 14 yr old dog in the comfort of her own home with expert care was so less stressful on her.... Us as owners also! We appreciated all the updates along the way, photos and videos as well! Again... Great service... Hope to use you all again real soon!
Cherie and her crew have been walking our two dogs weekly, taking our younger dog on adventure walks, and have provided care over a long weekend while we were away. They provide pictures and detailed notes after each walk or home visit. We could not be more pleased with the service they provide and the care with which they treat our dogs. Perhaps the best endorsement is from our dogs - they greet her eagerly and happily leave for their walks.
Our dog has a heart condition that is terminal. They have shown up, taken her for a walk, changed her diaper, given her medication all graciously and kindly. After every walk they make sure that all our animals have water and food. This is not something we asked for but it makes us feel confident knowing all our pets are taken care of. We are so so very grateful and highly recommend them for your pets.
Cherie and her team are life savers and treat their clients pets as if they were their own. Highly recommend!!
Cherie, Yvonne and Tania were all fantastic with our dogs while we were away on vacation. They did multiple drop-ins a day and sent updates each time with pictures. We would def recommend them! - Lauren & JP
Cherie did a great job with our Fergus! He loved seeing her every morning and going on a walk! We really appreciate the care given.
I can’t recommend Wags Walks n Whiskers enough! I was lucky and blessed to have found Cherie and her team last December. From the moment I met Cherie, I knew instantly she was the right fit for my goldendoodle, Lucy. Her warm, loving, and caring personality instantly won over us both! You can immediately tell she has a love for all animals which makes you feel comforted when you are away from your pups. I never feel nervous or worried when I’m not at home because I know that Cherie is treating Lucy like she is her own. They are trustworthy, very knowledgeable when it comes to animals, and truly know how to handle them, which is something I did not have experience with in the past. Plus, for each and every visit, Cherie or Tania will send me pictures, videos, and an update on their walk for that day. I always look forward to it! Not only are Cherie and Tania both wonderful, but they are also very reliable and efficient. They always respond to any messages or requests you may have. The lines are communication are always open. If you are looking for a dog walker in the North Haledon area, I highly recommend Wags Walks n Whiskers for your furry family member!
I, Erica B, live in N Haledon and had Cherie from Wags,Walks n Whiskers walk our elderly dog, Freyja, beginning of July for a few full days and single walks while we were away. It was first time having someone other than family care for Freyja. Cherie came to meet Freyja first , got details of her routine, and gave me details of her very professional business, that has a fantastic app to use when you sign up. After every visit , even if short walk, she followed up on app with many pictures and detailed report of her visit with Freyja . Obviously I highly recommend Wags, Walks n Whiskers. I am thrilled I have Cherie for Freyja whenever we are away. She really gets to know your pet. It is not just a walk, but a caring visit .
Cherie is great. I've been a customer of hers I think from the beginning (or very near the beginning). She walked my black lab Lucy before she crossed rainbow bridge. And Lucy loved her. Then when I got my yellow boy, I reached out to her immediately and of course he fell in love with her too. Just the other day he saw MY car parked outside on the street and spent 90 minutes going crazy because he thought it was Cherie getting ready to come in to get him. I trust her implicitly. She's done all kinds of dog care training, i.e., Canine CPR, etc. She's kind and caring. I HIGHLY recommend her.
My dog can be nervous and shy around new people. Cherie was so kind and patient with him. There are very few people I would trust to let into my house and take care of my dog, and Cherie is definitely on that list. She is always considerate and gives thorough updates after every visit. I would highly recommend this business to anyone!
Lisa and her staff are incredible! We've used Nature's Nanny for various pets over the last several years, and they have always taken great care of them. We appreciate the notes and photos they send after each visit. For our last service, in addition to Lisa taking care of our two cats, we had to make last minute arrangements to have our dog taken care of when my mother-in-law had a medical emergency and couldn't watch him anymore. Lisa was so accommodating, which made us feel so much better about being far away from home. We will continue to use Nature's Nanny for all of our pet care needs whenever we go away for extended periods.
I needed a reliable dog sitter who could give my dog meds twice a day and sometimes doesn't want to take them. Lisa was able to get them down for him. She sends me photos and updates for every visit. My work plans changed and she was able to accommodate that as well. As a dog mom with a dog with health issues, it is a huge sigh of relief to have someone trustworthy and caring taking care of him! Thank you Lisa! 💜
From the second we met with Lisa, we knew we ( and our VERY particular kitty) were in excellent hands! It’s not easy to entrust someone you don’t know personally into your home to take care of your furry family member while you are away. Lisa interviewed us as much as we interviewed her, and we truly felt like her expertise and experience made her an extremely trustworthy caretaker. We couldn’t have been more impressed! Despite the fact that our cat becomes territorial and downright vicious with strangers, Lisa managed to feed, change the litter, and even attempt to socialize with her, while knowing exactly how to handle such a difficult cat. We got a daily log of the day’s activities, as well as pictures and text updates. When we got home, it was obvious that an unbelievable amount of care and attention had gone into her, and she behaved as if we’d never left.( In fact, her litter box was better cared for than I think we even do!) We can not recommend Nature’s Nanny Pet Service and Lisa enough!!!! We have already used her services twice, and will continue to do so in the future.I felt like she cared for our cat as much as we do, and was professionally able to handle her in a way that neighbors and family members were unable to. We are so grateful, and have recommended her to several people, and will continue to do. I highly recommend giving yourself complete peace of mind, and hiring such a fantastic service. I only wish we had found Nature’s Nanny’s Pet Service sooner!
Had a great experience with Nature's Nanny! Lisa took care of our cat while we were on vacation and I couldn't have been more pleased. Her communication is fantastic (daily updates and pictures) and she is so kind and compassionate. We found our new pet sitter!
Luna is our first pet and I was very apprehensive leaving her at first. Lisa came to meet us and put us at ease immediately . She has been back several times and now we have a trusted FRIEND coming in to help . She always sends texts with pictures and leaves a detailed account of her time with Luna . Lisa is the BEST!
Lisa is someone that we trust completely with our boys! We count on her to give insulin injections to our one diabetic cat and she gives them plenty of love and attention while we are gone.
We have used Natures Nanny for 18 + years and Lisa has always been great with all of our cats.
I used this company for 2 years for my high energy dog. They’ve been amazing and I always felt safe with my dog in their hands and them in my home. I can’t recommend highly enough. The only reason I’m stopping is because I’m moving, and if I could take them with me I would!
Lisa provides great dependable care. Has taken care of our kitties for many years. Very trustworthy and caring.
Very caring for pets. If ur out working too long for your fur baby's. They come in at a set time to walk or water/feed ur baby!! Lol great service and very caring owner!
