Cynthia was a perfect pet sitter for our little kitty. We knew from her extensive experience with cats that Nala was in good hands. She was extremely responsive via texts when we were away, ensuring us that the 2 of them were having a great time. She went absolutely above and beyond by scrubbing our bath and toilets to remove our mineral deposit rings that we haven't been able to get rid of! She even left the name of the product she used so we can get more in the future. The house was cleaner than when we left. We'll have her back anytime!
Our review is written by Steven (house owner, host + my father) + also by Kim (the daughter). Written by Kim: This was our first house sit since the passing of my mother in late Dec 2023. I was helping my father Steven (whose profile it is) manage all the emails + try + find a great house sitter + came along Gretchen’s profile! Not only is she a cool cat + someone you might want to get to know, I found myself quickly talking to her. I shortly found out her profile is just a glimpse of how interesting she is but talking to her was so much better! She is a world traveler with many experiences + stories to share. We quickly became conversationalists who could talk forever + probably will continue to do so! Thank you TH! She is easy to communicate with + continued the consistent communication all along our journey of having her as our *first* guest after my mom’s passing. It was clearly a time filled with anxiety + sensitivity so there were some sensitive topics to go over + Gretchen got it right away. A few of our rooms in the house were off-limits (as they housed my mom’s things) but we reassured her the house has ample space for her to enjoy + there are many lovely outdoor spaces to boot! When she arrived she felt she was in paradise + really relished in the outdoor beauty + the indoor coziness. We were happy to share it with someone who appreciated it so much! She also was very understanding with the fact that both my dad + I would both be involved as we both handled different parts of the stay. Me, writing + setting up the Welcome Guide + would go over the situation but then upon her arrival my dad would take over + answer any questions mostly during her sit. The good part of having 2 people is she had accessibility to us both, in the case she needed it + sometimes it came up! She juggled all the communication oh so well. My mom usually handled most of the logistics so this being our first time we were nervous something would come up we might not know but it didn’t! It was new territory for us + we wanted to make sure she had everything. Gretchen handled it all with such ease, seamlessly, really respecting our wishes/desires + taking all the information into her hands + making it seem easy on her end to do so. She was easy to coordinate schedules with! There was a gap in her 1st + 2nd sit but everything went seamlessly even when my flight had a day long delay. She was able to coordinate schedules with me arriving in between, then leaving, my dad arriving different days + us extending the trip too. It all worked out! We were all a good team! She absolutely loved our older cat, Benny + he fast + furiously fell in love with her oh so easily. When I saw him, he looked oh so loved + after saying hi to me went over to ‘her’ bed + slept there waiting for her to come back. She sent many pictures, videos + even cute creations + toys she made for our Benny + it was obvious the house + our Benny were her first priority. She even asked us if she could help prune our flowers/shrubs, something my mom used to do + honestly it was an honor to hear her ask that. She was welcome to set up her art studio + play away. She was very communicative when our house cleaner, landscape gardener + house manager showered up for different reasons. When I arrived back for a short stint before she came back the 2nd time our mail was so well organized it was an assembly line! She also offered to take down our xmas tree (as we were a bit behind in taking down our xmas decorations) + she was sensitive to the fact that we were adjusting to a new normal. Thank you so much Gretchen! You made our first sit in a long time so seamless + such a relief that we are ready now to host again. We only wish we could have more Gretchen’s! (She’s also a super talented artist!) Written by Steven: Overall, Gretchen has been an absolute treasure. She has fulfilled our goals for a house sitter perfectly - she took good care of the house, great care of our treasured pet, Mr. Benny + took care of the grounds such as watering a few plants + trees. She excelled in all the above + is welcome back anytime I will be out of town in the future.
Becca was fantastic - we cannot say enough about how great she is as a pet and house sitter and as a human being! Becca committed to the sit 8 months in advance and was great with her responsiveness in communication during the long lead up to the sit. She arrived early and got the low downs on the animals and house stuff prior to us leaving. She woke up crazy early to help us get to the airport and picked us up when we returned, which made the traveling so much easier on our end. She left the house spot-less (and this is no exaggeration), with the linens cleaned, and a wonderful meal waiting for us upon our return. She is an absolute gem of a person with a great sense of humor and a kind and compassionate nature, and she really enjoys the animals in her care. Our dog and cat were very well cared for and totally at ease upon our return. If you are lucky enough to have Becca sit for you, you will be very pleased at how well she does the job!
Daniel and Vasylyna were incredible house sitters and we would welcome them back to sit for us again any time they are available! They were fantastic communicators, making sure to work out details far in advance and they sent frequent picture updates of our animals which made us so happy while we were away. When the power went out in the neighborhood while they were here leading to a technology issue with our alarm system, they handled everything well. Upon our return, the house was clean, the garden was thriving and well cared for, and our dog and cat were clearly very loved while we were away - in fact our dog was sooooo sad to see them leave! I had the pleasure of getting to know them a bit before I left, and they are such a kind, adventurous, and great couple. I would highly recommend having Daniel and Vasylyna take care of your house, plants, and animals!
Nathalie and John were great! They were great house sitters to watch our two dogs, 2 geckos, our old cat and bull frog. Their two girls took good care of the animals as well. The house was exactly how we left it. We really appreciated their help!
Summer was a very top-quality pet sitter and house sitter. She not only took excellent care of all four pets (three cats and a dog) but even achieved a very close bond with one of the cats. She went over and above the call of duty with our dog, who developed a serious skin condition while we were gone. We're so grateful that Summer was able to identify there was a problem, took the dog to the vet several times, and ended up having to apply topical medication and give pills and even keep the dog dressed in a t-shirt, which she did flawlessly. She communicated with us frequently, sending photos and updates, and the house was spotless when we returned, even cleaner than when we had left. She did an amazing job, knew how to handle any situation, always had a very upbeat and positive attitude, and we really enjoyed getting to know her right before we left and right after we returned. We would very very highly recommend Summer in all respects!
Florence is everything you want in a cat sitter! We have two cats that need a lot of human attention. One takes multiple medications twice a day and they both are used to eating on their own schedule and having people around so it is always very important to us to find a pet sitter that will be spending a lot of time in the apartment and that doesn't mind being very attentive. We were able to meet Florence before our trip and felt 100% confident that she would take great care of our cats. Florence is comfortable giving medication, she sent us photos and updates and left our apartment spotless. We were so happy that we had her come back the following week when we went away again for a short trip! We will definitely contact Florence again whenever we travel and hope that she is available!
Jenima is an excellent sitter! She is organized, communicative and flexible throughout the stay. We needed a sitter at the last minute because Jazz got sick, and Jenima saved us. We left a little worried about him, but Jenima took care of him really well and kept us informed. Cats love her! We definitely recommend her to take care of your pets!
Amazing sitters - I feel so fortunate to have had them stay. Chapeau was treated to daily walks and belly rubs, and my cat Tica was overflowing with contentment from having been taken care of so well. The house was cleaner than I left it and I was treated to a nice note and a lovely candle upon my return. Also, they left a checklist of item that they had done while here. Truly above and beyond!
If Cung ever applies to your post for a house or pet sit, I strongly encourage you to jump at the offer. You will not be disappointed. Cung is among the top (if not the top) sitter I’ve ever had and I’ve been on this site for years. Primarily, Cung is very organized. In the weeks and days leading up to the sit, Cung kept me abreast of his plans and status. I felt very comfortable in the days leading up to the sit because I knew the plan we made to exchange the keys and walk him through the instructions would work as planned. Second, Cung really cares. When he got to my apartment after what I assume was a long day of traveling, I explained the care instructions and he was very attentive and cared about the details - asking very specific questions on how to care for my cat and apartment. I had some pretty specific rules about how to feed my cat and take care of him and Cung followed those exactly. Third, Cung makes you feel comfortable while you are away. I got daily or twice daily updates about my cat. I got pictures which made me feel like my cat was having a good time. My cat came out within an hour of me being away - very fast for my cat as he is shy. Cung must have a calming energy towards animals. Cung was also very responsive when I reached out first - replying within 5 minutes. I really appreciated that. My cat threw up at one point and Cung answered all of my questions to assess whether my cat was sick or had just eaten too fast. Fourth, Cung will take good care of your apartment/house. I came back to a SPOTLESS apartment. The sheets were washed and folded on my bed. The towels were washed. The apartment had been vacuumed. The kitchen was clean. The dishwasher had been run. Everything was in its place when I returned. Honestly, cleaner than when I left it which is difficult since I am a very clean person. Cung also respects your property. I have an extensive computer setup that he used for work and he was very respectful of that equipment. He asked if he could use it beforehand, which was incredibly polite since he could have used it and I wouldn’t have known. In sum. You need to jump at the opportunity if Cung offers to sit for you. I came home to a very happy cat. Hope he will sit for me again sometime!

Sharon is wonderful. I have a 100lb rescue who was abused before coming to our home. Sharon has taken special care to help our Trooper adapt to her being around and walking him. He is super excited when she comes and it's clear he has learned to trust her. I love that she has been so patient and reassuring with him. Her handling is certainly part of his growth. We are so glad to have found her.
I had the pleasure of entrusting my furry friend to the care of Sharon and her family as an outstanding do walker and boarder and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. Their service has truly earned a stellar 5-star review for their amazing and reliable service. The communication was seamless and we love going status reports and photos which is reassuring. They demonstrate a genuine love for animals, putting my concerns at ease and showing a keen interest in understanding my pet's specific needs and preferences. I would wholeheartedly recommend Pampered Paws and Plants.
Sharon does a wonderful job with our sometimes stubborn walker! She ensures he gets the much needed attention and outdoor time on days we are away at work. She does a good job working with his capabilities and attitude on a given day which might be more ball time in the backyard versus a long walk. She is also very attentive to our dog's needs and makes sure to refill his water. Sharon has been great at accommodating our irregular schedules, and is a great communicator. We always receive a confirmation so we know we are on the schedule and receive cute photos and updates from each visit. We highly recommend Sharon to anyone in the area!
If you're looking for someone to care for your pet as if it were their own, then Pampered Paws is for you! Sharon, Mitch & family were excellent with our crazy girl! She has never been left for more than 6 hrs. So, leaving her for a few days was both new to us & her. Sharon, Mitch & family did an amazing job. They went above & beyond to make sure she felt comfortable, at home and part of their family! We received updates & pictures to let us know how she was doing. Definitely recommend!
Sharon is the best dog walker I could have asked for. She gives my dog so much love 💕 and attention it’s as if he is her dog. Knowing she will be there to care for him takes all my stress away. I love the daily updates and pictures she sends. …
Sharon, Mitch and their family did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, 2 cats, 10 chickens and watering the garden while on our family vacation. During the hottest time of the year she kept everyone cool. Even tho we were in another country our ongoing communication for any animal needs showed her attention to detail and gave us peace of mind. By sending us a few photos to let us know that all was being taken care of and we didn’t need to worry. Sharon will treat your animals like they are her own . She is caring and trustworthy and we are so glad we called Pampered Paws and Plants, LLC.
We hired Sharon to take care of our cats when were out of state for the weekend, and she did a great job! It was easy to schedule the sessions and she was quick to reply to any questions we had (both before and after the meet and greet visit). Our cats all have different diets/eating habits, so they're not the easiest to care for, but I felt like our cats were in great hands. Thanks again, Sharon!
I have had a wonderful experience with Pampered Paws and Plants, LLC. Sharon started walking my dog Lexi a couple days a week while I am at work, and I couldn’t be happier with her service. She was very patient with my dog when she was nervous to have new people in the house and gained her trust after just a few visits! She has sent me pictures during visits and brings treats for Lexi too. I am so thankful to have someone I trust look after my dog when I can’t be there, and I would highly recommend Pampered Paws and Plants to anyone!
Sharon is such a wonderful caretaker. Our dog is older, so allowing her to remain in her home and familiar surroundings when we travel is so helpful. And, with Sharon available, I know that she'll be well taken care of and loved.
We were extremely happy with Pampered Paws and Plants, LLC when they took care of our dogs while we were on vacation. They treated our dogs as if they were their own, providing much loving when they were here. Our dogs also seemed very at ease with them. Sharon would text us after each visit with a status, and observations that showed that they really got to know our dogs. This is the first time we ever used a pet sitter, and we will use them every time we go away. We are entirely comfortable with leaving our dogs (which are a part of our family) in their care. One day it rained and our dogs didn’t get much outside time. During the next visit, Sharon let them have extra outside playtime. They really care about the pets they watch.
Deb loves dogs!! We’ve taken our 3 dogs to her for about 6 years and they’ve always done very well with her. She has the amazing ability to ease the dogs’ anxieties and make sure that they all get along. They are always happy and healthy when we see them. Deb has a large, fenced back yard where the dogs play together. And they really enjoy it! The best thing is that Deb sends you pictures of your dogs so you can see how they’re doing. I highly recommend TailWaggers Inn for your pups!
We are so lucky we found Deb when we moved to the Frederick area 2 years ago. We have left our 3-year old hound mix Marlo in her care many times for as long as one week. Marlo is a energetic and playful pup and we can always expect a small group of like-mannered dogs for him to run around her big, fenced-in yard with. He always comes home happy and exhausted. Deb has helped us through some behavior issues (pee marking) with her experience and patience. We can always expect daily updates and photos which is so important. Marlo loves Tailwaggers Inn! Highly recommend.
We are so happy to have found Deb. It was clear from the initial consultation that she loves dogs and has a solid system for acclimating her fur guests based on their own individual needs. Deb cared for our two fur babies for nearly two weeks and kept us updated with regular pictures and insight into how they were both settling in. They came back happy - and even more well socialized. The hour-long drive to her place is well worth it, and we are already planning our fur babies' next stay!
We were wondering who would watch our Winston, a 17 year old toy poodle, when we went out of town for a week. Most of Winston’s life he had spent vacations at the home of friends, who owned Winston’s mom and dad. Recently they relocated out of state and we were nervous about finding a pet sitter. Deb put us at ease from the moment Winston had a meet and greet at her home. She truly went above and beyond in providing tender loving care for our beloved dog. We are grateful to know Winston has found a new home away from home.
Deb is the best! From the moment we dropped off our "little old man" (our 14-year-old Chihuahua), we knew he was in good hands, and we could really relax and enjoy our trip as a result. Thank you, Deb! We hope Charlie will be able to stay with you again sometime soon!
Deb is absolutely AMAZING. My dog loves going to debs house while at other dog daycares I can tell that she is nervous heading in. At debs the minute we walk inside her tail is wagging and she is ready for me to leave so she can play in Debs huge yard with some of the other pups!! Deb is such a caring person and also offers some of the best rates around. I cannot say enough great things about deb and the tail waggers inn!
Deb was so helpful to our family. Our golden retriever and three cats were cared for at our home. It was so wonderful to leave for a weekend trip and know that our pets could stay all together in their usual places. Thank you, Deb, for fitting us into your schedule. Thank you for doing such a great job.
Deb is a wonderful and caring dog host. My dog, Sierra, has two speeds, off and FAST, so she can be a bit of a handful. She had a great time at TailWaggers. We also got photos and updates that eased my anxieties about leaving Sierra at a new place. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
So disappointed. We had been taking our dog to Deb for the past year and a half and had got to know and trust each other. However, as soon as money became involved, Deb changed in an instant. Unfortunately, two days before our dog was planned to stay with Deb, we had to cancel our trip due to a family member being sick with Covid. We gave Deb an early heads up that this might happen, which was met with a warm and understanding reply. But then when we did end up canceling, she requested that we provide "proof of COVID" to get credit for a future stay. If we could not provide proof, we would only get 50% credit. Not only was this completely insensitive from someone running a small business based on trust, but it was also a huge surprise. In spite of how Deb kept saying this was written on her website, NOWHERE could we find this policy. After messaging Deb several times to request a full refund and being ghosted, I wanted to write this review to warn others. This is really sad because I had previously written a positive review and recommended her to others. All I have to say, Deb, is I hope that $355 was worth it because we will not be bringing our dog back to you, and I will no longer be recommending you to others. So sad. As another review put it beautifully: "lesson learned: this boarding service is still a business despite all the warm facade you may encounter. We have to be the ones responsible for our pets, welfare and wallet."
We (our Pups included) loved TailWaggers! Deb was able to accommodate our schedule as it shifted and gave our Pups such a wonderful and loving home while we were away. Great communication as well 👏 …
Happy Paws is an amazing company! I am a Senior Manager at the company and just love working with our amazing sitters! We all just love providing exceptional care to all the fur babies!! ❤️
I have been using Happy Paws for years. First with my Chihuahua and then my cavapoo. The sitters are wonderful!. I love the way they take lots of photos and a description of their visit but most of all my dogs love them! 💗 …
The sitters at Happy Paws have been nothing short of phenomenal! They have been really great with my elderly cat when I am away to make sure she is comfortable and feels safe. I can count on them when I travel for work. They do a great job of keeping you informed of when they arrive and what their visit entails via a journal entry and photos. I highly recommend this service provider for one's pet sitting needs!
Thankfully I have found HappyPaws shortly after moving to Frederick, thanks to google reviews. Initially I contacted a person that was recommended on Reddit but this person was so flaky and completely bailed out on meeting with me (very unsettling), and so I contacted Happy Paws soon after and received a response minutes later! Meet and greet was detailed and orderly and professional and the pet sitters are all amazing. My separation anxiety is worse than my dog’s (LOL!), so I feel a deep sense of gratitude that I have found a local business with caring people to take care of my dog when I’m away.
I have never seen a more professional company. Their heartfelt love for pets is the only reason i can take a vacation. They are #1 in the area!
We were in need of assistance with our elderly dog and my sister’s dog while we were gone much of the day at my son’s wedding. They provided prompt, professional and kind care for our dogs. I feel confident to entrust my dog to their care at any time. Thank you so much!
Happy Paws truly cares about their clients and animals. We recently had an unfortunate incident with a visit but Angela the owner handled it with compassion and care. Today she proved why Happy Paws has such good reviews and we couldn’t be more pleased with how the situation was handled. We look forward to working with them in the future.
We absolutely love Happy Paws - always been so good to us and to our precious 4-pawed babies.
Always take such great care of our pets. Our dog loves having his friends from Happy Paws stop by for a visit.
We love Happy Paws they are easy to use, very helpful and really care about your pets. They communicate after every visit. They are the best!
We have a 10 month old Australian Sheppard who has so much energy and loves Camp Bow Wow!! She goes at least once a week and the staff greet her by name. Our dog is always exhausted when she gets home and gets so excited whenever we get there. The staff is so nice and always give us updates on how she did when we pick her up. We all love Camp Bow Wow and it’s so nice to have a place we trust our dog at!
My dog loves it here, she is always excited to arrive which I take as a great sign of a kennel/daycare. They dona good job screening dogs, as my other pup was not qualified to stay, which is understandable since he has become more of a curmudgeon in his older age. Even though he wasn't "a bad dog" he didn't enjoy being there and they noticed that which is a great sign that they are not just taking dogs for the money but are actually looking for dogs that are a good fit. The staff is very friendly and the place looks clean.
We absolutely love that your staff conducts an interview process before agreeing to take on a new dog client. While some might regard this as an inconvenience, we certainly do not. It speaks to your care for each dog as an individual: to learn about them, how they interact with others and what kind of group would best suit them. It also speaks to your respect for the dogs who are established campers: considerate of their comfort level and how new dogs are introduced to their little camp packs.Thank you for the level of care and professionalism you all display towards your human and dog customers. So happy we found you!!
Camp Bow Wow is the best!!!! This picture of Harvey shows just how content and sleepy he is after a day there! The staff is awesome and they are so professional and responsible. They clearly communicate and are flexible and kind!! Harvey and Ben love going to camp and when they’re there, we don’t need to worry about their well-being! They always come home soooo happy!!! We trust the staff completely and they offer such peace of mind by being so alert to what’s happening with all the pups. Thank you Camp Bow Wow for being our go-to daycare for our pups! We wouldn’t be able to travel or have house work done without having you as such a solid resource!
Our puppy has been going to camp for over a year and we’re very happy with the care he gets. We love that we can watch him on camera and he comes home worn out and happy. We’ve done daycare, overnight and grooming and it has always been a great experience for us and our pup. You can really tell all the people that work there love dogs. 🐾
We recently moved from Ohio and needed a new daycare and boarding spot for our two labs. Camp Bow Wow is located right across the street from us and right next to a popular pizza place we like called The Garage. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They had a great system for introducing both dogs into the yard. Me and my son could watch from the television in the waiting room. There is an app that you can easily book daycare and boarding from and have a credit card on file. They also have cameras on the app that you can watch the dogs during the day. Very cool set up. We are very pleased, and the dogs are exhausted at the end of the day!
My dog Prince is very well taken care of and loved by everybody at Camp Bow Wow. He has been going to camp for a few years now. It’s really nice to be able to look at the video on their app to see Prince playing with the other dogs. My family, highly recommends Camp Bow Wow, for grooming, boarding, and daycare.
Dog socialization is great for our camper. Its mentally stimulating and tires her out. It's nice to be able to board her somewhere she can play, if we need to. I like that there are other services, though we haven't gotten to use them yet.
I love the transparency with this business and how they give you a tour of all areas. I've used another dog day camp facility and I'm always guessing as to what my dog is doing or how his day is going or how long he's kenneled or if it's clean and comfortable. The first visit at Camp Bow Wow was awesome and he's going to have a blast at future visits.
Everyone at Camp Bow Wow is so friendly! My Corgi Jac just loves going there and as soon as we get closer to your location he perks up and starts looking out the window. Thanks for making a place for him to come and play with his friends.
When we were out of town for more than three days, we would always have Urbana Pet Care to take care of our two cats. The sitter would help to change water, clean the litter, play with our cats, and send us photos. The sitter was really responsible and provided great service!
Best pet-sitting service ever! We were not satisfied with our previous pet sitter and were reluctant to try another. I then browsed the website Yelp and found Urbana Pet Care, which was highly recommended. My husband and I decided to give it a try. We just had our first pet sitting engagement with Urbana Pet Care last month. The staff showed genuine concern and care towards my pet, which in turn made me feel more comfortable having them take care of my pet. Rice was amazing with our cat Catty and texted detailed updates with pictures every day to us, making sure that we were at ease. It's always great to get updates about your pet while you are away. We were very pleased once again with Urbana Pet Care, and would certainly recommend them based on our experience.
I have used Urbana Pet Care for a few months to take care of our two doggies🐕🐕 when we go out of town. We always have someone from the Urbana team stay at our house so we don't mess with their routine. Recently we went on a 2 week cruise to Italy, France and Germany and left our pups to the sitter Rice. He emailed us pictures of the pups having fun and laying around every day, letting me know how my doggies did in their daily walk😊. I also appreciate that my home alarm system is always reset properly and the door locked every day. Makes me feel safe knowing Urbana is responsible for both my pet and my home. My neighbor also recently told me that she saw my dogs out with her new walker the other day and my doggies looked like they were having a great time🎉🎉🎉👍! Thanks! We hope Rice is available when we go out of town next time!!😊
We started using Urbana Pet Care’s midday dog walking service two years ago so our dog can take a bathroom break everyday while we are at work. The team has been doing great ever since! The walks are always on time and the walker is really friendly - my buddy loves her! And when there is an emergency, the team always has back up. Recently we went on vacation and were unable to bring our dog. So instead of boarding, I tried their in home pet sitting service for my dog and to take care of my cat also. It was great, I received pictures and updates from every visit so I didn’t have to worry while on vacation. Overall, they always keep us updated, are very efficient at communicating, and are a very nice team to work with. Highly recommended!
We requested cat pet sit service during our vacation time. We receive a video or image update for each visits and the sitter follows the instructions carefully. Everything went well and they deserve a 5 star rate! I will be back in touch for my next trip with Urbana Pet Care.
Top-notch pet care!🎁 I was soooooo lucky to meet Urbana Pet Care, the best pet sitter I have found in the area, hands down. I have a British Shorthair & also several cats.🐱 The cats are strictly indoor & my biggest fear is that they will somehow get out while the front door is being opened/closed, as they are curious creatures. But Urbana Pet Care exceeded my expectations and took great care of my kitty every time. My little puppy always seemed happy when I would come back from my works or trips, which is proof that the pet care specialist would actually take the time to play with her, to brush her and give her attention. I can't recommend Urbana Pet Care enough if you're looking for a great cat sitter or dog walker with reasonable rates who will give you peace of mind!👍👍👍
Rice to the rescue!! We had to leave town overnight without notice and worried as we have a little dog 🐶that we were not willing to leave with strangers or in a cage at some boarding facility. We asked our friend and he recommended Urbana to us. We then called Urbana and asked if there was any way they could help. 📲A few minutes later, Rice, the owner, was on the phone and even insisted on driving us to and from the airport. ✈️ Rice welcomed our doggie into his own home 🏠and sent us updates and pics every few hours. So incredibly relieved to have been able to tend to an emergency without having the stress of worrying about our little one!🆒 I am thrilled with Urbana and will definitely offer a recommendation to anyone with pets. 🤩🤩Rice and his team have done a wonderful job. They love animals, and they know how to take care of the things you'll be worried about before you even get a chance to worry!👏
We were delighted by the experience with Urbana pet care. They sent pics and videos through our time away which was so helpful.our dog had a really good time with them :) will definitely going back!!
Recommend! 1. Super quick response. 2. Easy to set up and change the schedule 3. Manger and sitter are super nice and professional 4. Follow the instructions without the question 5. My dog loves them Thanks Rice and your team!
I'm so glad I found this pet care. Great service and my dog love them.
Maureen has been caring for our dog, Vinnie, for almost 2 years now. He cannot be around other dogs and so caring for him can be a little challenging. Maureen takes great care of him every single visit and keeps us updated all the time. She is extremely responsive and very reliable and just an all around great person! Bonus: Vinnie loves her too! I highly recommend Maureen for your pet care needs.
Maureen (Mo) has been a life saver! We moved to Frederick last year and needed a dog walker for our senior man. Maureen has always been extremely responsive, on time, friendly and very accommodating. She provides you with a “ report card” and photos and also does little things like brings in packages. Can’t recommend her enough!!
Maureen has been a wonderful care taker for my pets. She is professional and is very accommodating with my schedule to walk my dog and feed my dog and cat. I highly recommend her for all your pet sitting needs.
Mo is totally reliable and obviously enjoys her job. She’s taken care of my cat multiple times, for short and long stints and he is never angry with me when I return home, a sure sign of good care. Mo notifies you when she gets here and sends a log of each visit with pics. I can’t recommend her more highly.
We are SO grateful for Mo! She is truly the best. My husband and I have been working with Mo for over a year now, and we trust her greatly with our pets and our home. Mo is kind and caring, diligent and reliable. She updates us every day with photos and a summary of the day. Mo always goes above and beyond. Thank you Mo, we appreciate you!
Fantastic small business in Frederick, for pet owners who need safe, secure and reliable custom pet care. Mo’s Paws does a great job of ensuring that our pet is taken care of while we are away. Our pet loves the enclosed play space and the large indoor area with soft comfortable spaces to hang out. Scheduling is super easy. We get very frequent updates during our pets stay at MO’s Paws. We find the customer care and value of the service is excellent. We will defiantly be using Mo’s Paws when we need pet sitting, again.
Maureen has been an awesome and reliable care taker for my pup! Quick response time and helpful updates from walks and visits. Would 100% recommend to anyone who needs dog care!
Mo takes great care of my senior citizen dog, Dallas! She is patient, kind, and reliable. I’m so glad I found her to take are of my fur baby!
MAUREEN WAS EXCELLENT, HAVE LEFT MY LITTLE YORKIE WITH HER SEVERAL TIMES, HE IS ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE HER AND PLAY IN HER LARGE FENCED YARD. MAUREEN SENDS PICTURES AND UPDATES FREQUENTLY . I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I FOUND HER AND WILL CONTINUE TO BRING MY D0G HARLEY TO HER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER SERVICES TO ANYONE LOOKING TO LEAVE THEIR FUR BABIES WITH SOMEONE THAT IS CARING AND LOVING.
We had problems in the past with other dog sitters. Our black lab is very anxious. He barks and hides when strangers come into the house. Kira and Josh were amazing. They took the time to get to know him and he looked forward to their visits. Most have not been able to do that. We truly appreciated the great care they got while we were away. It allowed us to relax on vacation. We will definitely use them again.
Pet and Home Care did a great job caring for my cat while I had surgery. They came twice/day, provided food and water, cleaned the litter and provided affection. They also provided online pictures and comments to me after each visit which I greatly enjoyed. I intend to use them in the future.
After many months of guiltily asking friends to watch our two rabbits while we’re away, we found Pet & Home Care online. We have been using their service for four months now and I don’t know how we lived without it. They are experienced, dependable, kind, and responsive. Thanks to Miranda R, Emily B, Tad B, Andrea L, Dorothy E and the rest of the excellent team, we never have to worry when we leave town. We especially love that they share updates explaining how their visit went and including photos our two buns. We will proudly continue to depend on their services for the foreseeable future.
Rylee and Tad provided outstanding, conscientious, and compassionate care for our animals. After each visit, they sent us a detailed notification with photos of all animals. One of our cats has to get insulin shots twice a day; for a year, we did not leave him in someone else's care for even one day. After experiencing Pet and Home Care's competent and caring service, we now feel confident that he is in safe hands if we have to travel.
I have 4 dogs and used to always beanxious about going on vacation and leaving them. I have been using pets and home care for over a year now and am always impressed by their service! They do a great job even with dogs that are elderly, reactive, or harder to deal with. They send pictures and reports about the dogs and follow the care instructions very well. I've had 3 different sitters in the last year and they always do an excellent job!
Was recommended to Pet and Home Care by Laureen’s Pet Sitting when she moved away. We used P&HC for the first time over the new year holidays. Jack and Jean took care of our three dogs, gave twice daily medications to one, and sent pictures with every update. This was the happiest our dogs have ever been when we’ve returned from a vacation. 10/10 pet sitting. Highly recommend and will use them again. ❤️
Choosing a place to trust with your dog can be extremely difficult. You usually know if you've made a good choice when you pick your pet up based on their behavior. You know for sure how it went based on how they behave if you try to take them back to that place. From his first daycare evaluation visit, our dog has shown nothing but absolute joy to go to stay with Pet and Home Care! He perks up in the car as soon as he realizes where he is and he runs right through the front door without hesitation and without looking back for me. We recently had our longest time away and he stayed 2 weeks. I was really concerned he'd feel abandoned (he was a rescue pup). I was so pleased when we picked him up and he was his usual happy self, not seeming to have even noticed how much time had passed. These folks are phenomenal and I am so glad we found them.
Pet and Home Care is a wonderful organization. They cared for my diabetic cat when I was travelling and now they take care of my dog when I'm away. Their care is excellent and I never worry when I leave my pets in their care.
From a management standpoint, Tiffany and Kira were easy to work with. They looked at our set up and made a few recommendations to meet our needs. They also adjusted our schedule, which saved us some money. Very pleased with their services and their rates are reasonable. They followed all instructions, left detailed notes and even sent cute pictures of one of our cats. They also contacted us with questions or concerns. Erica was outstanding. She was attentive, kind and affectionate with both of our cats. We highly recommend and would use her services again if she is available in the future. Thank you!
We feel so lucky to have found such a great service to take care of our beloved Goldendoodle, Charlie, as well as our home. Charlie loves everyone at Pet and Home Care who's taken care of her which includes daycare, a variety of grooming services, walks, really anything we've ever needed or wanted for our beloved pup. They are so sweet and caring with Charlie, I sometimes worry Charlie likes her PHC friends more than us! PHC has also provided excellent services to help clean and maintain our home. Our lives can get very busy, but Tiffany and Pet and Home Care have been a trusted and valued support system for us for years and have made all of our lives significantly better because we found them. My wife and I can be very particular and picky, so I can confidently say they are the best and couldn't recommend anyone more highly!!!
My boyfriend and I recently enrolled our dog, Frosty, in the daycare program at Dogtopia of Frederick! We checked out the website beforehand, and we were intrigued. The first day we brought Frosty to daycare, we were greeted by the manager, Victor. He took Frosty back for the meet and greet and it went so well! My boyfriend and I were pleased with the whole experience from start to finish. Victor, and Bree, are wonderful! They both made us, and Frosty, feel welcome and comfortable. We are especially grateful to Victor for giving us one week FREE!!! I’d also like to mention that Victor gave us an unexpected, but much appreciated, discount the last time we picked up Frosty. Frosty was at Daycare for pretty much the whole day, and much to our surprise, we were only charged for a half-day! We thought that was very nice, and it made us feel like part of the Dogtopia family. Thank you to everyone at Dogtopia of Frederick! We plan on keeping this location as our primary daycare facility for our Frosty Boy!
I have a new puppy and she needed EXERCISE and Socialization. I pick her up at the end of the day and she is SO tired she falls asleep on the way home! The staff are all wonderful and my puppy LOVES going!
My pup Gilly just recently started attending daycare at Dogtopia and she loves it! I love seeing how happy she is on camera during the day, and I also appreciate how they give her breaks when she's overstimulated. Another plus for us was that they have dedicated nap time during the day, which helps Gilly stay on her schedule like she does at home. We have also used their boarding services, and one thing that my pup has never been able to do when being boarded is eat. She's picky about her surroundings, but when I picked her up from her first boarding session they said she never missed a meal and ate all her food. This was without me mentioning she is weird about her eating habits when away from home. Overall I am very happy with Dogtopia in Fredrick and will continue to send my pup there.
Although I am relatively new to Dogtopia, my experience there so far has been positive. I've had the opportunity to spend time and talk with the General Manager (Victor), the Assistant Manager (Jesse), the Pet Parent Coordinator (Brie), the Shift Leader/Rover (Genesis), and the Canine Coaches (Ryan, Josh, and Tyler). These people are sincere, knowledgeable, and truly love dogs. They take pride in their work. I love the positive energy that they exude--you can tell this is not just a paycheck for them and that providing quality care for the dogs is their utmost priority!
We took our English Bulldog to the Meet & Greet today, and we had a great time, and immediatly signed up for weekly appointments. Our boy Jax has severly bowed front legs, as can happen with their breed, and the soft mats for him to play on was a welcome surprise. The team, led by Victor, was welcoming and inviting. They paired our boy with other pups with similar energy, and temperment. They provided structured play time, and not just a free range hodge-podge of chaos. I can't recommend Dogtopia of Frederick enough.
Please beware of this location my dog was attacked at this establishment and is suffering injuries to head and his neck. The owner laughed on the phone when addressing injuries with my dog this behavior is not acceptable and very unprofessional. Please keep our pets safe in Dogtopia in Frederick, MD failed me and my pet in negligence for the care and safety for my dog. Please keep buddy in your wishes and concerns and hope this does not happen to another pet !!! The owner states my dog got into a scuffle my dog is 10 pounds was attacked by a bigger dog . Please look at the pictures and tell me where the scuffle with my dog . The dog that attacked my dog is still at Dogtopia . My dog was the only one injured with severe injuries and the other dog is fine . Please be careful taking your pet here hopeful the dog does not attack another dog again . Please prevent dog cruelty with animals and protect your pets from the danger exposed from this business . The owner will downplay the issue he is just concerned about money ! You have been warned about this place I hope this does not happen to another dog.
My girl Skye is always so happy and tired when I pick her up! Everyone is kind, welcoming and very affectionate with the dogs. Not only that, but they are always keeping the floors clean of any mess they find!
One of our biggest came true in this place. We were looking for a place where I could day our dog Max for daycare (for socialization mostly) and also board. During the meet and greet all was great, include first day of daycare. We were having a special event and therefore decided to board Max for 1 night only. I was shown the suite and made arrangements to reserve with the manager. Saturday we drop off at 9am, his dog bed, food, and medication. Max has severe separation anxiety and I confirm suite would be best because he cannot tolerate being left alone in crate for too long. I confirm with the front desk girl I will be picking up at 9am Sunday, though outside of regular hours they confirmed would put note for the morning staff. I get there and no one is there, I can hear Maxie’s bark from the outside. I peak inside and he was in a crate where he could barely stand. He looked panicked. 9:30 came around and still no one there, sent out an email to the location and finally get a call from the manager. He apologized and confirmed someone would be getting there shortly. Young lady gets there 9:45am, she apologized and I asked why he was in the crate, she advised probably because of after his breakfast. Then she shows me picture of how he was found when the morning staff got there. I then realized he was never put into the suite. He spend the whole night in the crate, he bend the metal nada and he physically hurt himself. They apologized again and confirmed they made a mistake. Manager refunded my money but what they don’t realize is all the damage they have cost to my pup. He came home with scratches so deep around his nose, paws, varies part of his body. He was a pup who didn’t like the crate but would tolerate it to now being completely afraid. He had blood in his stool for days. Please be careful in taking your dogs here. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. It’s been 3 weeks since the experience and he even cries if we drive by it. The manager did try to apologize and confirm a mistake was made but I will never go back to that place. Trust was completely broken.
Every time I drop my dog off for boarding they either have the wrong amount of days or charging extra for something they have never charged me before. I have never had any consistency since starting there. Multiple times they have double charged me as well. The cameras also barely ever work when I go on to check on my dog. I will most likely be switching to camp bow wow as I have never had any issues with payments or cameras there
One of our biggest regrets was using this place. Don’t do it. If something happens to your dog you can’t see the tape trust me we know. On top of that they will give you the run around. As well, our dog was bit here for some context. Want to know what else? ITS PATHETIC that IF we didn’t pay for a Spa Day that day our dog would have came home with a whole in her neck. I’m being serious unfortunately. They found it because of the spa. They told us a staff checked our dog after our dog was attacked here and found nothing. Did they cover the charge of course they did but there’s that for you. We tell all our friends what happen and they dodge this place like the plague. Seriously don’t do it and they truly can careless about the dogs. If you love your dog this is not the place to go. I’ll reiterate if we didn’t pay for a Spa Day…on that day… they would have sent my dog home with a whole in her neck. 👎🏽 This was a year and half ago to my dog Lily June 2021.
Fantastic place. The property is beautiful and expansive - there are two large fenced yards, with available shade, for the dogs to play in. All the dogs are well socialized and seem to get along great. Liz and Alex send photos at the end of the day that will make you wish you were a dog at Mindful Paws instead of working all day. Our pit-hound mix arrives home exhausted!
Our dogs love it here! Very friendly and knowledgeable. I like knowing that my pets have space to play during the day and are stimulated. Would definitely recommend!
Our dogs, Cooper and Keeley, love going to Mindful Paws Daycare. When we arrive at Mindful Paws, they can’t wait to get out of the car. They greet the owners with such enthusiasm. The owners take the time to get to know your dog. They are so kind and caring of all the dogs. At the end of the day, we get an email with photos from the day. There are a couple of outside areas for the dogs to run and play, a big inside playroom, and indoor cubbies containing a cot for each dog to use during rest time. It's an outstanding facility! The ease of use of their website makes it a snap to book days, send messages, and see the wonderful photos. Everything is very professional! The dogs have fun and come home ready to relax.
My dog has been to 2 day care sessions and we will definitely be back. When we started to pull up the driveway on her second visit, she immediately recognized where she was and got excited. Alex and Liz are nice, great at communicating, and have a beautiful, safe, and clean property for dogs. They have also answered all of my questions thoroughly and in a timely manner. I love that there are multiple fenced yards for the dogs to play in. I love that it’s a limited number of dogs in each play group so the dogs aren’t overcrowded or over stimulated. I love that each dog gets a private area of their own for breaks in between play for rest. I look forward to the updates and photos from the end of each session. They make my day!
Arnie our golden loves going to mindful Paws dog day care. He has a get time there and Liz and Alex take such good care of the dogs . The cool thing is that every time he goes Liz and Alex send pictures of him and his pals. He always has a smile on his face. I would highly recommend Mindful Paw dog daycare. your dog will love it .
Mindful Paws has quickly become a home-away-from-home for our five year old shepherd. By our third visit, she was so excited when we pulled in and saw the staff. She can get overwhelmed with a lot dogs, and Paws always makes sure she has a small group to play in that's a good fit for her and her energy level. Not to mention it is just a beautiful place, too, and everyone's super friendly, professional, and reliable. Very lucky to have this day-care option in the area!
Like many people, we got a puppy in 2020 during the time most everyone was working from home. When it was time to go back to work we knew we needed an option for our now 95lb hound to run, socialize with other dogs and ultimately learn to be confident with more than just our family. Mindful Paws is just what we needed. They are thoughtful, kind, in tune to the dogs and take care of Jerry like he is one of their own. He gets so excited once he realizes where we are going 😂. Love that they have two huge outdoor fenced yards, the indoor play room, schedule rest breaks during the day and even offer nail trims. Thanks Mindful Paws!
As we drove in we were thrilled with the view and the wonderful location. Fresh air, green grass and nice and safe play fields. There is lots of room for the dogs. We brought Charlie to our "meet and greet" with Liz and Shirley. We were very impressed with the facility - its design, the cleanliness, and the overall concept. Of course our 5 month old pup was not on his best behavior but it was clear both women knew what they were doing as Charlie responded to them immediately. What we didn’t realize was how important the time Charlie spends at Mindful Paws is to his growth and socialization. Charlie seems much calmer at home since his weekly visits. It’s easy to go online to their site to book time, communicate with the staff, and see delightful pictures of your dog at play. The only negative thing is when we come to pick up Charlie he doesn’t want to leave.
This was the first time using daycare for my Rottweiler puppy and Mindful Paws is AMAZING! Their hours are perfect for people working out of the area and they send you photos and updates daily. They are a great couple and very nice. Plus my puppy is EXHAUSTED when we get home. Highly recommend
I brought my 8 month old lab puppy to Mindful Paws to give him the opportunity to socialize with other dogs, and, hopefully, use up some of his energy. He had a bad experience with a larger dog as a puppy and was very timid around other dogs. They were great at understanding dog body language and worked with my sweet puppy. He is now much more confident and ready to make friends with the world!!! I highly recommend Mindful Paws for your four-legged family member!
Our 5 month old Bernedoodle went for his first puppy cut at Animal Inn of Frederick yesterday. Can’t say enough about how pleased we were with the staff, and care for our pup on his first visit! They did exactly what we asked them to do and we will definitely be going back for future grooming!!
Warm and welcoming upon entry. My dog doesn’t seem rattled when we pick her up after a stay. We had her once at another kennel, never again. We will only use Animal Inn for now on.
OMG, we can't say enough about this place. They are amazing. They are fantastic, and our two dogs love going to the Anima Inn of Frederick. The staff is always welcoming and truly care for our babies. We have taken them to several places and always had an issue in one way or another... meaning one or both came home sick, or we showed up early to get them and found d they were not in the runs we had requested and promised. We love our fur babies as though they are our children, so when we travel or have to have someone watch them, the Animal Inn of Frederick is always our 1st and only choice.
We chose not to use this grooming facility since they would not offer reference’s to check. We have had a really horrible experience with a local reputable groomer who ‘had great reviews online’. The fact this place won’t offer this information makes me wonder if their reviews are legit too. The previous bad experience was devastating to my dogs.
Just check out the reviews they are sporadic and the year of the reviews are far off inbetween makes me think they have the Negative reviews removed so maybe they were once a good place from the reviews but from our experience it was traumatizing for our dogs especially Our Cavalier When we picked her up she was terrified and when we got home She would not come out of her kennel for a week that is no exaggeration something happened here. We also were there from Sunday - Sunday and was quoted $800 but on pick up was charged $1268.00 yes we have 5 dogs and 1 cat. They all minus the cat had Chronic Diarrhea for 3 weeks after they got home after staying here, I had taken them to the Vet. I'm unsure if they used the food we supplied them with or used their own. Now our dog is very terrified of big dogs so which she wasn't scared of any animals until we had them here for a week. Never again and Would not recommend.
This place is ridiculous. I brought my cat here to get groomed after making an appointment with the lady at the front desk. We made it VERY CLEAR that he wasn’t able to make it through his grooming appointment at the vet because he got overwhelmed and we were told it wouldn’t be a problem. We gave him his muscle relaxers and drove 15 mins to be turned away because the groomer was “scared” and she wasn’t told about his experience at the vet from the lady at the front desk. We also were told it would be a drop-off appointment and that we could pick him up after we got off work. WRONG the groomer stated that, “It’s stressful for cats to be in kennels for a long time so we don’t do that.” Isn’t this place a boarding facility? Absolutely ridiculous. I bought a $50 clipper and shaved him myself and he did really well. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because the facility seems well-kept and it probably would have been a good experience if there was more communication and the “specialty” cat groomer wasn’t deathly afraid of my cat….
I just sent my two dogs there for their second long stay. I'm not sure what makes this kennel different from others, but they came back happy, healthy and as if I hadn't even just been gone for 10 days. This has not been true at other kennels we have used. Two walks are included in the price, but I pay for one extra walk at night as they are older and couldn't hold it from right after dinner until the morning. I will be sending them there again in two weeks for an even longer stay, so I am glad I have somewhere I feel good about leaving them.
I wait a bit until I post a review as I want to be sure about what I am recommending. We are expats and have lived in a couple of countries and have relied on a couple of "dog hotels" to shelter our furry friends while we travel overseas. Animal Inn of Frederick is one of the most professional kennels we have come across. They take excellent care of dogs and make them feel safe and comfortable. We've also had conversations with the owner and she is very responsible, professional and trustworthy and will make you feel comfortable with your decision. The kennel is clean and well taken care of, the price is great but it is the people that make the difference. If you are looking for a "dog hotel" for your furry loved ones, look no further.
I have been going to Animal Inn of Frederick for many years now. My dogs always look amazing after getting groomed there. The cost is very reasonable and the staff is always caring and attentive. Nicole is a wonderful groomer and takes such good care of our pups. I highly recommend Animal Inn for pet grooming/boarding!
We just moved here from GA and needed to board our puppy. This business is fantastic, the lobby facility was big and spacious so there was enough room to abide by covid social distancing. The owner is VERY nice, she was super welcoming and informed us they have a military discount after we explained why we were there. We ended up finding out that we couldn’t sign for our house for a couple more days and so we called to see if they could keep our puppy there for a couple more days and she was more than willing to do that. Fantastic facility, highly recommend!
Rene is the best! We left our puppy with her when we had to travel out of the country and she was so sweet with her and sent us wonderful updates everyday, throughout the day. We picked up our dog and she was happy and healthy. Our “puppy” is now too big at 65 lbs. But for smaller breeds I would not hesitate to recommend Rene.
This was the first time using someone outside of our family to care for our 13 year old Shitzu mixed, Princess. We were very nervous about leaving her but as soon as we met Rene, we knew that she would be in great hands. When you first meet her, you just know that she’ll take great care of your pet. She is kind, gentle, caring and her home is so pet friendly. She sent pictures & updates throughout the day as to what Princess was doing. This put our entire family at ease and allowed us to enjoy our son’s wedding and all of the activities surrounding it. We would highly recommend Rene and plan to use her services again the future. Rene is the best!
When we first got our pup in the Spring of 2020, the world was locked down and we really didn't go anywhere. When things began to re-open earlier in 2021 my family and I found ourselves in a bad situation. What do we do with our pup when we have to travel on vacation to places dogs aren't allowed? Our pup is part of the family and I did not like the idea of leaving him with anybody. We did a lot of research, found Rene and planned a visit with our dog. After the meet and greet we planned a sleepover for our pup just to see how he does and he did great. Finally, we were ready to do some travelling without worrying about him. On day 1 of our vacation I was expecting that our pup would be in good hands. What I didn't expect was that we would be getting daily texts from our pup telling us about his day. These text updates not only made us feel very comfortable, but they became a fun part of the day when we all would gather around for the update on his day! Our experience with Rene has been fantastic! Thanks Rene!
We have used Rene and her service six times. Our pets always get extra special attention and lots of love. In fact, they dont want to go home when we come to pick them up. We have used other pet sitters and none come close to what Rene brings to the table. 5 Stars all the way. Highly recommend.
Rene is an amazing dog watcher who loves my dog as much as I do. She will go out of her way to be available when needed.
5 star My little Yorkipoo is pretty difficult to care for when I have to leave, but even so, he received the best of care.
I’m completely at ease while away. I trust Rene to take care of all our pups needs and lots of love and attention. -David
Always super flexible and accommodating, I swear my dog loves her more than me!
She is the best !!! Warm , caring and the best person i know ,,,
