"A relaxing and long time away from home made possible by the best pet & house sitters we could have asked for!" Judy and Steph went the extra mile over their entire one month stay at our home. Both our cats became fast friends thanks to the care and dedication provided for them. We were routinely updated with spectacular photos of our furry girls throughout our leave that helped us be anxiety-free the entire time. Even our older shy cat spent time sleeping on their laps or hanging out on shoulders. As for the house, Judy and Steph left it even cleaner than when they arrived! We had a few tasks to maintain the lawn and potted plants outside, which were completed perfectly. They even tended to our vegetable garden where needed! During a 'risk of severe hail storm' alert, Judy and Steph kept us in the loop and went even further to place potted plants under shelter out of harms way. In summary, we recommend Judy and Steph and would happily have them return again if our schedules cross paths.

There are not enough words in the English language to express my deepest gratitude to Teresa and all the amazing love and care she showed my sweet cat Milo. From the moment she met Milo, I knew there was going to be a very special bond. He instantly relaxed when he first met and already looked so happy and at peace with her. The bond between the two of them only seemed to get stronger and stronger with every day that I was away. This two-week trip was so important for me as it was the first real "vacation" I had taken in a few years. I was in desperate need of a mental and physical break and knew that in order to have a true "time off', I needed to feel completely at peace with Milo being well-taken care of. Well my prayers were answered as Teresa was the "cat whisperer" I was hoping for. I could not have asked for a better, more compassionate, self-reliant, and intuitive sitter ! Teresa was also so diligent in sending me her daily picture and video updates of my cat. With every picture and video I saw, I knew that Milo was so happy being with her and I never worried for one minute while I was away. What a gift ! Teresa was also a serious life-saver for me as literally an hour before I was leaving for my trip, I found out my cat's tracker app was not working and after a few emails and phone calls, we found out the tracker's server was down. Teresa took the initiative to follow up with getting the tracker to work again which was a HUGE stress-relief for me . She is not only wonderfully savvy with animals but also with technology as well ! I feel so fortunate to have Teresa in my life now, not only as an amazing sitter for Milo but also as a wonderful friend for life! Thank you, Teresa for everything.... Kristi was an absolutely incredible sitter -- I think our favorite one ever! She was easy to communicate with, kind and personable, and took great care of our pets and our house. It was the first time we had left both our dog and our cat with a TH sitter and Kristi went above and beyond. She was very self-sufficient but provided fun updates and pictures and our pets loved her. Highly recommend!

Daniel and Vasylyna were incredible house sitters and we would welcome them back to sit for us again any time they are available! They were fantastic communicators, making sure to work out details far in advance and they sent frequent picture updates of our animals which made us so happy while we were away. When the power went out in the neighborhood while they were here leading to a technology issue with our alarm system, they handled everything well. Upon our return, the house was clean, the garden was thriving and well cared for, and our dog and cat were clearly very loved while we were away - in fact our dog was sooooo sad to see them leave! I had the pleasure of getting to know them a bit before I left, and they are such a kind, adventurous, and great couple. I would highly recommend having Daniel and Vasylyna take care of your house, plants, and animals!

Kathy and Ron arrived at our home with a most fantastical toy for our cats and a giant apple pie. Need I say more? They are very experienced sitters and brought personal items that they prefer. We knew we were leaving out cats in good hands. A large part of their 'job' was hand watering our garden and Ron took that in stride. Everything is thriving. Our cats are usually distant with new people but we received photos of them keeping Kathy and Ron company in various situations which was reassuring. They clearly won our cats over. Although Ron and Kathy had a ferry to catch on their last day, they took time to wash their linens and hang them on the clothesline. They also left us a gorgeous plant for our garden. We would very much like to have them back for a longer sit if possible.

Toby and Chloe were one of the best house sitters we have ever had! As a small animal vet I have seen many types of pet sitters and these guys are top notch. Our pets are not easy either. We have special needs dogs, cats on medication, dogs with behavioral issues, horses, chickens, goats and a large (100 lb) Sulcata tortoise who needed close monitoring of the temperature in his barn. Everyone was thriving and happy when we came home. They read through the packet and asked thorough, thoughtful questions. They went above and beyond grooming, mucking and grazing the horses and goats everyday. They chopped greens and fruit daily for our tortoise. If we had known how amazing they were we would have booked a 3 week trip instead! Can't recommend them enough.

Laura came across the country to sit for us. She arrived a day early and from the moment my pets met her our Lokie was smitten. We have one shy cat Luna and she was out and about on the first night. Laura kept us updated and shared her Adventures as well. We do live in a small hideaway of a town so seeing that she was able to enjoy herself was nice. We returned to a clean home, laundry done also, and very content pets. Lokie was sad for a few days as he missed his friend. We would recommend Laura as a sitter to anyone and would have her back again. 5 plus stars. ⭐

Paige, David, and family were WONDERFUL sitters for my crew! They were so pleasant and personable, and the pets warmed up to them very quickly. Even my rescue cat who tends to stray away from men loved David. I received regular updates and communication (before and during the sit). I truly did not have any concerns while I was away knowing that everyone had such great care and attention given to them. (I know the dogs had a good time because when I came home there was no commotion over my return.) I was away on NYE and Paige had no issues keeping an eye on one of the dogs who has anxiety surrounding loud noises. The family cleaned up after themselves and may have left the house cleaner than when I left! Truly such a great family who I would welcome back any time!

Molly spent 3 days at Hydegate. It was her 1st time ever in kennels but also coincided with losing her life long companion Buster so I was a little apprehensive for her. I needed not have worried, Molly was treated so well & with such understanding of her situation. I cannot praise the staff at Hydegate too highly. They are wonderful.
Our dog Nellie went to Hydegate for one night whilst we were at our wedding. Donna was amazing and kindly came to pick Nellie up from our venue, which was 5 minutes away. This meant we were able to have her with us for part of our day and didn’t have to worry about getting her to Hydegate later in the afternoon. Nellie was very happy when we went to pick her up the next day, we could see she was well looked after. We will definitely use Hydegate again if we need somewhere for Nellie to stay. Thanks again for making our wedding day so special by coming to get Nellie from us!
We have used Hydegate for our three Cocker Spaniels on many occasions in the past and had a few niggles about feeding and bedding, strange smells etc. but nothing major. We recently left them at Hydegate for five days and when we collected them all of the dogs seemed a little nervous and unsettled. On the drive home I noticed a really very strong musty smell coming from the dogs. When I got them home I noticed that the new 3kg bag of mixer biscuits I had supplied was still over half full..... three dogs over five days and they only had about 1kg of biscuits in that time?? Worse to come.... for the next 2 or 3 days, all three of them had bad diarrhoea. I have since found a far better boarding kennel less than a mile from Hydegate and I will never take my dogs to Hydegate again. It really has gone downhill.
We liked the look and had our "Liggy" stay for two nights his first time away from us he is four and hates us leaving him. That said he lost his voice/bark due to barking/calling for us for 48 hours 😔 but he was well looked after healthy but we should have gotten him bathed/groomed, he stunk to hi heaven from the walking and and he does like to roll in other dogs scents left on the ground so we had to drive back to London with a stinking needy Liggy.
Cannot thank Hydegate enough, I had a terrible experience with generic kennels and my dog came back in a dyer state, having lost 2kg and riddled with fleas and ticks. Having looked around I then booked Hydegate despite it being over an hour from our address. The care my dogs receives whilst there is next to none, he comes home so happy. People complaining about the cost are obviously comparing their services to regular kennels, the service received here is miles apart, you pay for what you receive and this is worth every penny.
I am honestly at a loss to see why some dogs and owners seem to get preferential treatment, based on recent reviews. My dogs, Twix and Clover lost 1kg and half a kilo respectively while here for 5 days (they're small dogs), and we received NO contact from Hydegate while we were away, yet other owners have had plenty of updates and photos. My partner has already reviewed with more detail about their stay, but the 'authenticity' of the low scores is being called into question, and I had to say something. Booking Reference: HPRB009697 if you don't believe me. You can see from these photos that he is visibly smaller in the first two, while the ones of him resting on the sofa and from outside Starbucks are from the days just before we left. He was a healthy sturdy little guy when we left, and when we came back, he was much skinnier and it is not okay.
This is the second time I have left my two English Springer Spainels at Hydegate and would not leave them anywhere else. They have returned again happy healthy and clean . They are always happy to see us when we pick them up, but also turn around and go back to their careers while at Hydegate, which is a credit to your team . Thank you , you come highly recommended .
Our elderly dog Bobby stayed for a week and Lloyd, Hannah and all the staff were brilliant, Bobby needed lots of fuss and attention which we could see when we collected him that he got.. he’s quite fussy who he’s friends with but he went to all the staff for a fuss, I would definitely recommend Hydegate, they have restored our confidence that we can leave him there and take a holiday knowing he’s happy. We can’t rate Hydegate highly enough. Dylan our golden retriever can sometimes be anxious. The team look after him incredibly well and he’s always happy after a stay with them. Definitely a five star pet resort.
Thank you to the team at Hydegate! Our dog is not naturally trusting of humans and this has been a challenge for us (and her) when she needs to go into kennels. We were greeted by Lloyd who explained how the Hydegate team now have behavioral expertise and work with the dogs to understand the best way to support a positive stay. She was housed in a kennel appropriate to her needs and went out for walks (we didn't think she would tolerate a stranger attaching a lead) which was great for her. The team even managed to give her coat a brush! The team were very understanding, attentive and responsive to our questions and concerns about leaving her. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Had an emergency situation and needed to get our dog into a kennels with no notice. Bassett Court had availability and were able to take our girl in for the night. We were worried about leaving her as she’s a rescue and didn’t cope well in the kennels at the rescue centre but when we came to collect her we were pleasantly surprised. She’s normally nervous of new people but was making sure to get a belly from them all. They were all so lovely and made her so comfortable, even walking her before we arrived the next day. We will definitely be booking with them in future 🐶

We recently used Precious Paws for our cat and were really satisfied with the experience. Perdi is a true professional who adores cats. She gave us confidence that our cat would be well cared for. Wonderful cat boarding experience for our two very pampered house cats. They stayed for a week in one of the lovely cat lodges and had a great time enjoying the Precious Paws facilities! Very organised and caring host who clearly adores animals so we knew our boys were in safe hands. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Perdi! She came once a day to our house to look after two of our cats and a house rabbit, and she also kept our more troublesome cat in her cat pen for 10 days. She sent daily updates and photos (at our request) and we were able to enjoy our holiday knowing that our pets were all being well looked after. Perdi did an outstanding job looking after our two cats. She clearly likes cats and followed all our complicated instructions perfectly. She also stayed in touch very well so we felt reassured that everything was fine at home while we were away. Just picked up my Miguel (who they affectionately call Miggles) and he had a great week with them again! He always comes back happy and healthy and the prices are so reasonable. All the staff we have encountered are lovely and I would highly recommend them. My family also take our cat there and she’s is equally happy. So glad we found this place 😊

We have just found this gem of a kennel and It is by far the best we have used in a very long time ( so much so we drive from Bristol to take our dog there). It has lovely clean runs and sleeping area, plenty of outdoor green space to run in and does not have large overcrowded compounds like many kennels. The staff are absolutely lovely and quite clearly care for the animals. My dog came home, happy, clean and healthy. I would definitely recommend
Always been a trusted company to use. The owners & staff are animal lovers & don't just treat the place like a 9 till 5 job. It's always clean & not smelling whenever I've been there. Reasonably priced too. I would recommend others to use these kennels.
Always so accommodating and friendly, the staff are great with my dog (Belgian Malinois x) who can be a handful. Highly recommend.
Have been using these kennels for nearly 10 years and have never had a problem, in fact my border collies drag me into there!! The youngest gets a bit nervous with the other dogs barking first off but settles down quickly. They are all friendly and helpful and the dogs return happy. Cannot fault them at all.

Recently left our 2 Shih-Tzus at Huntingford for 16 days. They trotted off quite happily into the kennel. We arrived to collect them to find them dry and clean, healthy and happy. All our bedding had been washed and dried as well. I think they had as good a holiday as we did. They appeared to have been very well looked after. We will definitely be using them again. Thank you.

I have an elderly cat who is scared of being in catteries so decided to try Sophie a few years back. She is amazing, very kind and thorough and most importantly my grumpy old cat is happy. Her medical knowledge is a bonus. I can go away and feel relaxed in the knowledge he is in safe hands.
My wife and I are happy to leave our animals in Sophie's care and can go away relaxed in the knowledge that they are in safe hands. We even receive updates from our pets whilst we are away. A home from home service, highly recommended.
I have used We Love Pets (Stroud & Tetbury) for a long time. Our dog is really well cared for in a family environment which means when we leave her, we can relax knowing she is in great hands. I would highly recommend Sophie and her team.

Lauren has been looking after our labradoodle dog Scrumpy for 5 years. She is the most caring and thoughtful person and has so much love towards animals. He is always looked after and always comes home happy we have never had any problems. Scrumps absolutely loves his time with her. Lauren is very reliable and very flexible and very trustworthy. We would be lost without her! We would highly recommend Lauren.
I have used Lauren for a few years both with my old dog and my new puppy. She and Liv are both considerate to all my and my dogs needs. They keep me updated with any concerns or funny pics. They treat my dog as if it was their own. When I lost my last dog Maddie Lauren was there for us in every way. I love her for that. I would recommend them both for doggie day care, walks with training and doggie home visits. They are both friendly, trustworthy and my dog Mabels aunties. Thank you both.
Lauren has walked my dog for over a year now and I can’t recommend her enough. She cares deeply about all the dogs she walks. I’ve also joined her on several of her walks and can see how good a control she has over them. She’s brilliant at training them and reinforce their recall which I love. I work shifts and she’s also been super flexible with moving dates to suit me- a real life saver.
Lauren is absolutely brilliant with dogs she has taken my dog Chelses on numerous walks etc, she is well looked after and she loves being with Lauren. I can highly recommend her as a caring person, you couldn't get anyone better to look after your dog.

Picked our bulldogs Lennon & Grayson up after a 5 night stay & they had a fabulous time. It was the 2nd time in kennels for Grayson & 1st time for Lennon. Grayson doesn’t trust everyone & Joanne & her team had him playing by the end of the week which is a huge achievement in our book. Loved the updates of photos & videos throughout their stay. The staff really engage with all the dogs. Lovely kennels & staff. My 2 will be going to stay again in October & Im confident they will enjoy the stay just as much!
Amazing, if my boy needs to stay somewhere and they have space this will be my first option. Honestly this kennel dispelled any worries I had about my dogs safety and wellbeing being in a kennel, they gave daily updates on how he was doing. He stayed for 9 days in total and I definitely would not hesitate to let him stay again. They played with him and they loved him like he was one of their own. Staff are amazing and understanding, they offer grooming facilities too. The area itself is beautiful to explore too. You definitely won't regret letting your dog stay here. If I could give a rating higher than 5 stars I would in a heart beat.
Excellent Kennels! Fantastic open space, supper clean and experienced friendly staff. We have been looking for a Kennel for a while and not have found any suitable ones. The team treated our dog like their own. When picking up our dog, he was supper happy and not had any issues. I love that he came out the way he went in. They have great schedules and spend quality time with the dogs. Dogs can play together or separately, supervised by staff. In addition they also do grooming which is so convenient. Supper happy to have found a great Kennel near by and not have to worry if our dog is safe and happy. Thanks guys definitely recommend and will be returning!
Lovely kennels, I left my elderly dog here a few times and they were always so kind, looked after him really well and he always came home happy. Would definitely recommend

Our StaffxRotty loved it here so much he didn't want to leave when we picked him up! Many kennels are good with either small or large breeds, but Country Dogs are amazing with any size dog. I got updates throughout our holiday as well as pictures. You can tell Jo and her family have a genuine passion for dogs and love what they do. I wouldn't hesitate to send my dog to stay with Country Dogs again. He's come home healthy, happy and very tired out from all the play time.
Very professional from start to finish, i would highly recommend this family run business. I’m very impressed with how well they looked after my husky, even turning on the air-conditioning so he didn’t get to hot, will definitely have my dog stay here again.
Collected my 2 large furbabies from Country Dogs yesterday after a 15 day stay. It was longest time I have left them at a kennels & I was bit worried how they would be. I needn't have worried at all! When went in they were happy to see us but then turned back to the many toys to play. Jo & team truly take care of all dogs & send updates & photos to you. The place is clean tidy &dogs cared for whilst having a fun holiday of their own. Thank you so much.
