Dog Sitters in Ambrosia, WV

I’m not one that gives a bad review on any business unless they deserve it . We did what was asked of us. Took our Fur babies to the vet for any & all update shots & records … First impressions were good . Left our 7 Furbabies there for boarding . Looked ok . Well two days later my Wife called to check on them .. No answer …. So I waited another day and I called , got the voicemail and left a message for her to call me back that I was calling to check on our Fur babies …. Later that day she called , said that they were great and doing fine , no problems at all with any of them . We were told what we wanted to hear , when really our dogs were in an awful environment . We took 7 healthy , clean dogs and got back 7 dirty, smelly , poo stuck on their fur , very little attention was given towards them in the 7 days of their stay . The blankets we took with them had poo on them & stunk to high heaven .our feeding instructions were obviously not taken seriously . We informed her that one male was a bully to the other dogs round food . Hopefully no one else has this problem with Roses pet groomers & boarding . We picked up our Fur babies & the ride home was horrendous, the stench was awful, we brought them home and have been busy washing them . Well to end our rant , we only give one star for Roses pet grooming & boarding services . Good luck in your endeavors .

Picked up our dogs after a weekend away, wasn’t told of any issues. Loading the dogs up nothing seemed wrong. Got home and our back floor board is covered in blood. We see that Mac is bleeding from his front foot. I called rose and asked she said ahh it must’ve came open again like she knew of the injury. Then we see our other dog is also bleeding. Accidents happen and I’m sure grooming can be tough. However, our dogs had to be taken to Riverbend to get the bleeding to stop after an hour and a half of the baking soda not working. This lady did not tell us of any injury nor did she tell us she didn’t finish grooming max his coat had clumps and his other foot wasn’t trimmed. If she couldn’t do the job she could’ve declined, instead she hurt both of our dogs. Completely unacceptable and after calling her she offered no apology or explanation she did call me and offer my money back for the grooming. It’s not about the money, it’s about trusting a business to do a job that involves animals that can’t speak for themselves.

I showed up a little too early for my scheduled appointment but the groomer was very friendly and welcoming. Took about an hour, and I got my small dog back looking quite handsome! My dog got a great spa day for a fantastic price ($30 range, I tipped so total was $40). Cash or check only so plan accordingly but great experience and we will be back.

Rose loves the animals and does a great job. I was impressed for my Yorkie was a mess. She came out looking like a different dog.

First ever taking my cats to a groomer. They was in need of a flea bath. Very nice and professional. Answered all my questions that I had. Great place to take your furry babies too. No problems with my two cats at all and they both looked and felt so much better too.

Absolutely wonderful groomer and board! My husky mix Timber doesn't like being left without me and has trouble behaving when other people are taking care of him. He LOVES being at Rose's and had a wonderful time! she was very kind when I was checking up on him and even sent me pictures and videos. she also let me know that he loved certain things there, like the elevated bed which led me to buy one! overall very professional and lovely person and service! never going anywhere else!

Nice kennel. Always seems to have space for my two pups. They get showered with treats. Can get some good grooming while they are there too. Thumbs up.

Kenneled my dog, very clean, an inside is heated in winter and air conditioned in summer. A doggie door leading outside to a bigger area. Was able to get me in on a short notice. Very friendly and fair in pricing

I have been taking my pup there for over a year, and he loves Roxanne. She does a great job with him, and I've recommended her to several people.

Rose was super friendly and able to fit me in for a quick nail trim for my Frenchie Mort at last minutes notice. Quick, easy and affordable, what more can you ask for? Thank You!

We had a great experience at the Pooch Resort! Our dog was well taken care of while we were away and did not seem anxious at all when we came to pick her up. Our pup is a little more shy with other dogs and the owner made sure to match her with a playmate that played well together with her. We will definitely be back! Thank you Pooch Resort.

Originally boarded our dog here during vacation & then it became our regular groomer as well. They do a great job with our lab mix & we always get compliments on his coat. During boarding they always post pictures daily & send pictures/updates whenever asked & never get annoyed. We do weekends sometimes & every time we need a week or longer for vacation. Our dog never is scared or anxious to go & has even made a best doggy friend he loves to play with when he’s there. Would definitely recommend! They’re wonderful & their communication is always great.

Great experience with pooch resort! They took great care of our dogs and posted pictures daily. Great communication and answered any and all questions we had. Will definitely be using them again.

I have had my dogs here twice now, both times for long vacations we were gone on. At their second stay at check in, she remembered details about each of my boys without me even having to say any kind of reminder, if I called or emailed to check in, I was responded to immediately and both my boys were always happy and healthy when I came back for them. Definitely recommend!

We would never use anyone else when we need someone to watch our 4 legged family members. Not only are they kept in wonderful shape and loved just like there own. There is pictures either daily or every other day where you can see them. Will continue to use them anytime we need a safe place for our fur baby.

This is our third time visiting Poochs Resort. The first time I called them, they answered the phone!!! We used to go to Petco, but their pricing was inconsistent, and they hardly ever answered their phones. We tried another local place and they let the phone go to voice-mail. Poochs resort has gone above and beyond our expectations. The groomer does a fantastic job with our poodle, who can be a little difficult at times to groom. Our golden absolutely loves going there, too. They ran in today and acted like they owned the place. They always fought me when I took them to petco. Thank you so much for taking care of our big babies.

I have been using Pooch Resort for several years and have utilized daycare, boarding, and grooming services. They have always been kind, courteous, and professional. My Siberian Husky loves daycare, I feel peace of mind when we board him--knowing he is well cared for, and his grooming is always top notch. I highly recommend each service and know others will be just as please as I am.

My husband is currently working out of town. We brought our dogs along with us. We read over a few reviews and decided to give the Pooch Resort Boarding Daycare a try. When we arrived the place was clean, the staff was also very nice. They finished both dogs within two hours and I have to say my husband and I are VERY satisfied. Our puppies look AMAZING. If we stay here long enough for them to have another hair cut we will definitely be making an appointment at pooch resort. Thanks again Mr.&Mrs. Bueter

We have boarded our dog Thor many times in California. We moved here January of this year. We had the hardest time finding some where that would board him and Loki (our newest addition that had never been boarded) separate from other dogs. Then we found Pooch Resort. They assured us they were not free range at night. They were polite, understanding of our concerns about leaving our dogs at a new place and answered all questions promptly. They accepted calls while we were away as often as we wanted to call and posted pictures of our boys having a good time. They made us feel comfortable with their services and we felt our dogs were safe. We will definitely be using Pooch Resorts for our future boarding. Also the groomer was amazing. She was able to trim Loki's nails which is something our vet couldn't do easily. We will be back for grooming as well.

Ginny is the absolute best! We left our girl for the first time, and High Hope Farm would be our first & only choice if we have to leave her again.Anytime I wanted to check in she happily updated me. Our girl has separation anxiety and needed medication, and Ginny took care of everything perfectly. I would recommend her to anyone with fur babies!

I've left my Blossom with Ginny twice now. Once for a month due to a family emergency, and just picked her up yesterday from a week long vacation. Ginny sends me videos of Blossom interacting with her own dogs and regularly sends text updates! I feel safe leaving my old puppers at High Hope Farm. Will not leave her anywhere else.

Ginny is absolutely terrific with her own dogs and LOVES to care for others!! She doesn’t just place them in a kennel and forget them, she lets them have outdoor fun time through the day! If you need someone to care for your dog, she’s it!!!! I highly recommend!!!

Our dogs LOVE going to stay with Miss Ginny! They start getting excited and chirping as soon as we turn onto her road. We have absolutely zero worry when we board at High Hope Farm and are so appreciative to have a place for them when we travel knowing they're taken care of, safe and loved.

I would never leave my dog with anyone but Ginny! She goes above and beyond to make sure my dog is always taken care of. My dog has a blast with her and always comes back happy and tired. I will always recommend High Hopes!!

We felt at ease leaving our doggo with Eric at Howliday Inn. He loves animals and the facility has a large yard for the dogs to play in (supervised by Eric). Our dog doesn’t play well with other dogs so Eric took her out to play by herself. The dogs have individual rooms to stay in instead of crates which we liked. We will definitely use Howliday Inn in the future!

Oliver loves going there & has fun! They all play together in the large back yard, & I know how much fun he’s having b/c when I’m missing him & reach out to check on him, Eric sends me pictures of my baby boy in action! I will always take Ollie Bear there when I need to travel w/o him!

We have always have great service and both of boys really love going to camp when we go on much needed vacations. A couple of years ago my youngest son had to have emergency surgery and Eric made room for the boys to stay while we had to go Columbus,Ohio for my son’s surgery.

They love animals and it shows. We felt like we were leaving our beloved pet in good hands. We love the camera in each room so we could check in on our pet. We shared our traumatic experiences of our previous boarding experiences an how our pet had escaped from that boarding kennel. They made us feel at ease and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was in good hands. Thank you so much for helping us to have a wonderful vacation. We will be back now that we can feel comfortable leaving him.

Great place to board your dogs. They genuinely love their "guests", and know ours by name. Ours are always happy to go there, and they love Eric. When we pick them up, they're always perky. Highly recommended!

We bring our girl here every week. She gets so excited to leave to go see her buddies. She gets play time outside and comes home so tired. We love bringing her to Howliday Inn and know she’s in good hands while we are working.

My go to kennel for my two dogs. The owner is great, he knows our dogs by name. My dogs have always been happy and perky when I pick them up, compared to experiences at other kennels that leave them stressed/frazzled. I love that they have their own room and get play time outside. I can leave them toys/bones and feed with instructions without any issues. They are always more than willing to accommodate. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a dog free, stress free vacation!

I boarded my Weimaraner at Howliday Inn and Suites for almost two weeks. I dreaded leaving her for so long, but the owner put me at ease; he loves animals and it shows. I felt entirely comfortable after I met with him and toured the facility before making my final decision to board my baby at Howliday. Every dog has his or her own room and window with natural light. The rooms have split doors so the dogs can look out and don't feel locked up - no cages! There is a good sized fenced-in play area outside (playtime is supervised). My vet, Dr. Sette (Hurricane Animal Hospital) recommended Howliday Inn to me and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to board their animal.

My dog appeared to have been taken care of, but I probably won't return. The runs are all equipped with cameras so I could view her. Her run was clean, but I never saw that she was taken outside. The lobby area was filthy and smelled terrible, like dirty litter boxes. Cats were running free in the lobby, and there was dog/cat hair everywhere.

Hate to give 5 stars because it will make it even harder to get my Thalia a room here. Howliday Inn is the perfect place to board or use for doggy day care. Highly recommended! Cameras in every room so you check on your baby with your cell phone.

My pup loves daycare! She has such a fun time playing with the other dogs. I get a sense from all the employees that they genuinely care about all the animals. Whenever I pick BB up they always tell me little things about her day- what she did and who she played with and it makes me happy. On Halloween Brittany even made personalized treat bags with homemade cookies for every dog that was there that day. They really go the extra mile.

MickSparkins Pet Care has taken such good care of our Boxer during boarding! They were communicative, kind, & understanding of his individual needs. 10/10 recommend!

I do not know my way around the on the phone to do very much on it except just make calls and texts and look up stuff. And here in this video one night when Lucky has been outside and he has stayed in the yard and he has listened and Marley’s really good about it too in Waze lucky is chewing on a bull stick right there around the corner where he lays does walk out of view of camera For a minute, but not out of the yard

This place has gone above and beyond my expectations for a Day-Care! The stafe is amazing and you can truly tell they care about the well being of thier clients. I'm extremely satisfied with the services they provide and would recommend them to anyone.

I had been looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and caring trainer for our family’s new Doxie. We were actually referred to MickSparkins by another trainer who highly recommended them. Our boy has been in group classes and boarding while we were on vacation, and there’s no where else we’d ever take our pets! I am so glad we followed the recommendation for MickSparkins Pet Care!

Loki was the sweetest little rescue with absolutely NO manners when we got him and the proper training made the world of difference in such a short time! I’ve been taking my dog to MickSparkins for day care for almost 2 years. They take great care of her, have a variety of activities and play groups, and give her downtime so she doesn’t get overly tired. She loves going and loves the staff!

My dog Scout has been enjoying MickSparkins daycare for almost a year now. We both have loved getting to know all of the staff and consider them all friends. They love and treat Scout like he is family and that makes me happy. I recommend the daycare and boarding to every dog owner I talk to. The staff is highly qualified and are continuously learning new techniques and methods to provide top notch care and training for the dogs. Scout is always happy to be dropped off each morning and I know he has had the best day with all his friends when I pick him up.

MickSparkins is an absolutely great place for your four-legged fur baby. The staff is in love with all the dogs, and the care they give to them shows. My dog loves going there for daycare, and his boarding experience was outstanding. And don't forget the grooming! He is a sharp looking pup, thanks to the care taken by MickSparkin's resident groomer. Add in the training available, and the trips to the park, and it is doggie heaven. It’s such a relief when you can go on vacation and not have to stress and worry about your fur baby.. Mark and Mendy have always provided a safe place for us to leave our yorkies at .. They didn't have a clue on how to approach a new dog. I came for an interview to be able to board my girl. I got out of the car , a young guy came out of the gate and said nothing, just started walking towards my car with his arms out with a leash. She started to growl, which she Never does, then a woman came up behind me and started me and said , no we can't take her she seems vicious and might hurt an employee. If I were a dog I would have been freaked out by both of them too! We went and found a great place for her they approached her being friendly instead of intimidating, no problem. She was great with them. She has been through extensive training and even her trainer said they needed to figure out a better approach. They definitely lost a lot of business through me. I wouldn't recommend at all.

Absolutely, unequivocally, best pet boarding service in WV. The whole staff is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and fun for the pets, and they genuinely cared so much about our pets and made sure they were so well taken care of. They were also always open to a last-minute reservation. I’ve moved since, but for any pet owner in WV, these guys should be your first choice for pet boarding. You won’t be disappointed.

I boarded my dog for two nights and the process was so easy. They get back in touch with you really quickly and are very nice! Cooper had a great time there. It's nice to know you're pet is being well taken care of while you are away.

Not recommended for rescue organizations. We had a Great Dane surrender there and asked if they could keep the vet records and surrender paperwork for us until we could come and pick up the dog and paperwork. They lost all the paperwork and owner has nothing positive to say about helping rescues even though we paid all bills on time and communicated everything going on.

Visited today (Jan 20, 2021). The safety features in place for dogs, the "Play Yard" as they don't believe a dog should be kept in a kennel, the caring staff top-notch. And the work they are continually doing to this "Pet Resort"!

My dogs love CRPR! They are excited to go in the mornings and as soon as we pull down the road, they know where they are. They get plenty of exercise and come home tired, which is exactly what I want!

Loved this place! My dog Murphy had a blast everyday and would get excited in the mornings as I’m about to drop her off. The staff is super friendly and always pick up their phones. I had zero problems and a happy pup, couldn’t ask for any better.

My dog loves daycare and had a great deluxe boarding experience. They sent me pics as promised during the weekend and responded by text to maintain communication about pickup. Very responsive and helpful but most important seems to care about taking care of Hudson with plenty of dog friends for him to play with! Always tired when he gets home.

I was so nervous about leaving my cat for the first time for vacation, but the staff were very communicative about her during my trip which kept me at ease. Thank you so much! Will definitely consider coming again ^^

We found country roads on Google and I desperately needed a place to take care of my two dogs and four cats where I could have the option of an alone kennel away from other dogs because of my dogs temperament and emotional instability and wow. I am so impressed by the people who work with the animals. My dogs arrived and they took care of them and worked with them and tried to coax them into having fun with the other animals. My cats are well taken care of and have fun window watching, playing on cat trees there and climbing up top in wooden planks. The staff are wonderful and I just love everything about this place. I will only ever go here for grooming, boarding, and day care. I just can't stop talking about this place.

I take my Shepherd/Pyrenees mix for grooming and Katelyn is the absolute best! She does such a great job with Dolly. I recently took my other dog, a boxer mix, and his coat is so shiny! He looks like a pup again! Dexter and Dolly highly recommend Club K9, especially Katelyn!

I liked this place for a long time but the last time I took my senior dog here they scraped his back so bad with clippers that's he came home covered in bloody scabs. I will NEVER go back.

I have been taking my Adult Dog (Fish) for the last 2 years and my new puppy (Chips) for about 1 month now. Awesome staff. Kind and caring for dogs that are super shy (like fish) or dogs that don't know manners yet (like chip) lol. Recommend their boarding and day care services to anyone.

Best place ever for dog grooming! Everyone that works here has always been so friendly and very sweet with our dog Coco Bear who always looks amazing after being groomed! I highly recommend bringing your pets to Club K9!

Club K9 is great! They are very attentive to the dogs and always greet you with a smile. When we brought our large dog to the club they made sure he was properly and slowly introduced to the staff, buildings, and other dogs. He has had a blast so far! We would recommend this doggy haven to anyone!

Their staff is friendly. Their walk-in nail trim service is very convenient and a great price. They do a good job grooming my German shepherd when he's blowing his coat.

I love the groomers here. They helped calm my normally nervous dog and showed him lots of love and attention! They also helped fix the huge disaster that was my furbaby's fur after the last place messed it up bad. Shelley one of the owners is an Amazing person and very sweet and helpful. I will forever take my dog to Club K9!

The Dog Lodge is absolutely amazing!!! My boy has been attending daycare there for months and he absolutely loves it. He cries in the morning in the car for me to get there faster. All of the staff are amazing, I can’t say enough great things about them. Ollie loves them and you can tell as soon as he sees any of them he gets excited. I never worry when I drop him off because I know he is in great hands. They are the best by far!

We love the dog lodge. Our little Cookie is treated so well. We spend a lot of our time watching her on the camera when she’s there! We enjoy our text updates and photos, too.

By far the most passionate and dedicated staff I have seen in a facility. Took fantastic care of my 13 year old corgi during what we didn’t know were her final days. Called me for any emergencies, updated me throughout her stay, made sure she got her medication and allowed me to check in on her when she wasn’t doing the best. Tiffany, Steve, Cydney and their staff are amazing and my family & I can’t thank them enough. Bella will be so missed but we are glad she got to experience the dog lodge and bond with staff. We will forever bring our fur babies here! ❤️

The people who work there are great people and really good to the dogs that they take care of they get plenty of attention when in their care. Once I got to see the care, attention, and the amount of time to run , play and exercise is amazing. I like the fact that they aren't locked up in a kennel all day like some other kennels do .

Highly recommend! Just picked up my dog here after a 5-night stay. Fair prices, easy to use app where they have 8 different camera’s to watch all the dogs play. Indoor/outdoor access for them all day long. Nice overnight pens. They also send text message pictures throughout the stay, with add-on treats available. Great experience at this WV owned biz! Take your pup here!

I love taking my dog, Annie, to the Dog Lodge. Annie is loved on, gets exercise, plays with other dogs, and gets excited to go there. I am so happy Annie has a place she is well taken care of, and I don’t have to worry. The workers are wonderful as well.

Had a very pleasant meet and greet ! Although my puppy did not respond well they didn’t give up on him and willing to try again in a couple of weeks. Will deff recommend ! UPDATE: My dog went to another daycare and excelled in the environment there ! So, my puppy showing my teeth at a staff member means he didn’t like something or something happened there. He responded well to the staff at the other daycare, they seemed to know more about puppies and how to treat them. Also, this daycare has nothing to do, just a big area with a lot of dogs. No agility toys or anything. My honest review.

We have two pugs and a husky and my husband is home during the day, so they're never alone for long. We went to the beach a few months ago and we were super nervous about boarding them. The staff at the dog lodge were very kind and compassionate and provided us with the reassurance we needed. We initially thought they were going to have to be separated from the other dogs because our husky wasn't crazy about the bigger dogs during her temperament test. The staff decided to try her with the smaller dogs and all three of our babies did very well. We'll most definitely be going to the Dog Lodge for future boarding, grooming, etc!

Charleston Dog Lodge is AMAZING! The staff is so sweet and kind to the dogs and love them all like their own. Our dogs come home exhausted from playing with their friends and they have a blast. I love being able to log into the cameras when I’m at work and watch what my monsters are doing!

My girl, Abby, is 16 years old. We have taken her to Tails R Us for grooming for several years. In the last year, grooming wears her out but the staff take such great care of my girl. They are patient and allow her to take breaks. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my girl’s care.

I've had my Bella there 3 times, two for grooming and once for a nail trim. I live this place. They are so kind to the animals. In Aug we will be taking Bella there for doggie day care and I trust them completely to take great care of her. Thank you all for what you do!

Our dog is very very anxious. Hates car rides, hard floors, new places, etc. It took her a couple days to warm up to being there but we loved watching her on video the whole time we were on vacation! They were so sweet with her and she didn't want to leave when it was time to come home.

Super cute environment with amazingly helpful staff. Gave my 2 cats a place to stay in a pinch before the holidays. They do have cameras with an app you can log into and look at your babies ANYTIME, which is super nice considering I am a super hands on cat mom. My cats stayed here half day and they abided by all special instructions because one of these guys is special needs. The reason for 4/5 stars is because for the half day, I never once saw my cats on the cameras unfortunately. I will definitely give it another try though and possibly change my rating, just because these guys know what they're doing. Thanks Tails R Us.

Took my poodle there and because they could not finish her ears I was not charged. That kind of honesty and professionalism is refreshing. My dog loved the staff. I will never take my dog anywhere else but here. 10/10.

Tails R Us is an outstanding dog daycare, grooming, and boarding facility, owned by two of the most caring and loving friends and pet owners I know - Maricris and Scott Miller. Their genuine love for animals is evident in every aspect of their business, from the warm and welcoming staff to the comfortable and clean accommodations. The spacious daycare area has separate dog playgrounds for small and large dogs to keep them entertained, while the grooming services left them looking and smelling fabulous. As for boarding, I had complete peace of mind knowing my dog was treated like family and in the best hands. My dog Cosmo loves this place, and I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for exceptional care for their beloved pets. I can't thank the owners and staff enough for their dedication and commitment to providing top-notch service.

Was a little leery taking our dogs for grooming since they had never been before. They did great with our girls! Am so excited to have a nice clean place close to home to take them. Many thanks for all the TLC you gave♥️

Just got my Oliver groomed today for the first time, they did a lovely job. Staff was amazingly nice. He can be a difficult pup but they did well with him. Well worth the $90.

We just went in for a nail trim this visit, but we were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and efficient. We had a lot of questions about daycare and boarding, and they were very easy to talk to and professional. I will definitely be back.
