Julia was an amazing house sitter and dog sitter! She sent me photos and updates every day, she took my pup Jordan on long walks and gave him the love, care, and patience that he needs. She was so easy and comfortable to communicate with and she left the house so clean and tidy for when I came back. Definitely recommend her!!!
Anita was a wonderful dog sitter for Balto! They were super tentative, made sure to ask any and all questions before we went away, and they sent the best updates about Balto while we were gone. I felt so much better knowing my dog was in great hands, and I could not recommend Anita enough! Quality care, and our apartment was spotless when we returned home.
Jerry gets a five star in every area! We actually connected on the phone before he ever arrived but once he got here, it was like we known each other forever! He was very thorough and how he was going to take care of the dogs and the house!! very friendly with the dogs, and they immediately connected with him!! dogs know when they are💖💖 he arrived early so he could become familiar with Circus and tinker and the house and we had a meal together and quickly became best friends! He sent pictures while we were away and updates. Every day. He was gone by the time we came back, but it honestly looked like he had never been in the house. Everything was perfect just like we left it.❗️❗️❗️ so if you’re looking for a Pet Sitter that is reliable in every way, and you know for sure is going to take good care of your pets this man is the one you want to have come to your home❗️❗️ you won’t be disappointed and I can promise you that💖🎉
Evan and Maria were fabulous. They are experienced sitters and it shows in their independence. They sent regular updates, but not too regular and were totally self sufficient. Most importantly both the house and dog were perfect when we returned home.
David was a great sitter for our dog! It was just him for this sit. He was very communicative before, during, and after the stay. He visited the apartment before we left to meet our dog and talk with us, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and confident that our dog was in good hands. He sent us updates throughout the stay, and left the apartment in great condition. While our dog is on the older side, he can still be a handful at times, but David didn’t seem to have any problems. Would definitely recommend David for any future sit!
This is our second time with Jamie and she’s really a great sitter for our dogs . She’s a trusted person, smart. You can leave her your house and pets. Can’t wait to have Jaimie back next summer
Cyndi was fabulous. I'd describe her as the no fuss no muss dog sitter. While some dog sitters need guidance on every little detail, Cyndi was completely self-sufficient. She left the home in perfect shape and totally adored my pup. I'd gladly welcome her back anytime!
This was our first experience with TH and we are very pleased. From the moment Rose arrived we knew she was the right sitter for our “kids”. Communication while we were away was great with pics of the dogs as well as text messages. Rose cared for our home and our “kids” with great care, she is very conscientious of your space. Extremely pleased with the care she provided to our “kids” and our home. We have another trip planned in a couple of weeks and are happy Rose will be staying in our home again. I highly recommend Rose as a sitter!
Lynn and Ray were fabulous sitters, going above and beyond to take care of our home, yard, and rambunctious pup. Leaving him for three weeks was very difficult but we felt confident once we met them. They are great communicators, very professional, capable of handling any situation, and personable. Since they are fully self-contained in their van, they arrived a day early so we could show them the place, have our dog Bailey get comfortable with them (that was immediate ☺), and get to know them over dinner together. While on our trip, they sent us daily photos of Bailey, which we really appreciated, and updates on their activities. They took him hiking almost every day and kept him well exercised. Any issues that came up (e.g., our irrigation water ran dry a couple weeks in) they communicated to us and we were able to resolve them quickly. They also harvested ripe berries and squash for us and even harvested and dried tomatoes in our dryer. We spent our entire trip feeling assured that all things were being taken care of and feel ever so grateful that we found Lynn and Ray through TH. We returned from our trip to a house that was thoroughly cleaned (better than we left it ☺), with fresh sheets on the bed, and a happy dog. Five-star sitters for sure!
Stephanie, Brian and baby Martin took fabulous care of our home and pets for two weeks. From the outset, communication was quick, smooth and friendly and it was clear that both Stephanie and Brian are reliable, professional and warm sitters who take all the various elements of a sit seriously. They kept us up to date with photos and messages, dealt proactively and competently with any unexpected issues that popped up, and most importantly showered our dogs and gerbils with attention and care throughout the time we were away. We returned to a spotlessly clean home (with thoughtful touches of fresh milk, bacon and bread waiting for us) and happy, settled pets. In short, we would recommend Stephanie and Brian to anyone looking for reliable, attentive and proactive sitters for their pets and home. We would be delighted to welcome them back for another sit, should they ever find themselves in the area again.

We’ve been using Dogs on the Run in 2020 and now again for over a year after moving back to the area, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and attention our pets receive. Melissa is fantastic with Dino, our dog, taking him on daily walks and capturing great pictures along the way. She always goes the extra mile to make sure he’s happy and well-exercised. Bella has been equally amazing, especially with overnight stays. Her special care for Dino and our cat, Rick, gives us peace of mind knowing our pets are in great hands when we’re away. We highly recommend DOTR for their exceptional service and genuine love for animals. Thank you, Melissa and Bella, for your dedication and care!
Dogs On The Run has been a life saving service for us, helping to always make sure our pup has his daily walk. We appreciate the concierge service, the fantastic dog walkers (shout out to Tracey!), and the sub walkers (yay, Alexis!). It is my daily joy to receive a picture of dog Levi on his walk with Tracey. Thank you for being so trusting and dependable, Dogs On The Run!
Lora from Dogs on the Run was absolutely fabulous! We went on a family ski trip for a little over a week and Lora watched over our pup. We have a 2 year old lab and love her so much. Lora treated her like family and took such good care of her. Every day she sent me photos and updates which was a nice bonus. I've attached a few of the photos she sent over while we were gone-it made me so happy to get these updates;) We will definitely be using her services again when we travel or anytime we need someone to watch over our pup. Highly recommend her and Dogs on the Run!
Dogs on the Run is a reliable pet service with exceptional walkers like Sophia, Hannah, and Heather, who captures amazing photos on their long adventure walks. Genie was always there for us in emergency situations, and we truly miss her. Owner April consistently ensures a great experience, providing follow-up after appointments and any changes in service. Highly recommend Dogs on the Run for all your pet care needs!
Toby is more than just a dog sitter; he's an exceptional caregiver who goes above and beyond to ensure Sasha's well-being. His attentiveness to her needs, coupled with his ability to engage her and adapt to her energy levels, truly sets him apart. What's remarkable is his deep knowledge of canine behavior, allowing him to tailor his care to Sasha's specific needs throughout the day. Witnessing Sasha's excitement as we approach Toby's house reassures me that she's in the best hands possible. Toby's regular updates, complete with videos and pictures, keep me at ease while I'm away, and I appreciate his dedication to ensuring Sasha's happiness and safety. He takes her on adventures all over town, which lights me up every time I see it. Recently, we tried boarding for the first time with Toby, and he exceeded all expectations. Sasha returned happy, mentally and physically stimulated, and well-rested. I wholeheartedly recommend Toby for his exceptional dog sitting and boarding services!
This is my first time using a pet sitter as my pup always travels with me, but when I could not take her on a recent trip, I turned to Dog on the Run. They were fantastic, very responsive, they paired me with the wonderful Jeanice who was an absolute angel!! She kept in contact, sent me pictures of my fur baby and they got along great!! She made my trip a carefree experience as I knew my Keely was in great hands! I highly recommend DOTR and Jeanice!!
DOTR is an OUTSTANDING DOG-SITTING RESOURCE, & they have sitters throughout a broad section of the country. We used them while traveling for a family event in Berkeley, CA. The sitter, JANA was a sweetheart, was punctual, & professional, & even advised us when she reached our hotel. As I requested, she kept us updated on our puppy's status throughout the time she took care of her throughout the 2 days we were there, walking her, playing with her favorite fetch balls, etc, She sent us numerous adorable photos for my phone, & thorough updates, further making me feel confident that our puppy was in excellent hands. I couldn't have been more pleased, & STRONGLY RECOMMEND "DOTR" for reliable, professional dog-sitting services.
Dogs on the Run came very highly recommended and they have been a life saver when I needed a pet sitter for my 20 lb pug mix dog. Right from the start, their professionalism was evident. They were fast to respond and asked me a series of pertinent questions regarding my dog's requirements and temperament, so that they can find a pet sitter who was the best match. Based on our discussion, they connected me to Shae. Shae is the best pet sitter I have worked with. Shae was always punctual. My dog, Chewy, instantly bonded with her. Shae followed all my instructions perfectly. Chewy can be leash reactive and hence walking him can be challenging, But Shae was very patient and careful with him. At the end of each session, she would send a detailed report along with pictures, which I very much appreciated. She was a pleasure to work with and I will be requesting her services on a regular basis. After every pet sitting gig, 'Dogs on the run' always followed up with me to get my feedback and ensure my satisfaction. I highly recommend DOTR and Shae for your pet sitting needs.
This was our first experience using Dogs on the Run to care for our two dogs while away on a 4 night trip. Hanna and Jordan were amazing!! They took great care of our fur babies and our home. Would recommend Dogs on the Run and Hanna + Jordan to anyone. :)
I can’t possibly express how much I love my pup’s sitter, Jan. She knew exactly how to make me feel comfortable with my dog staying in a new environment. She provides timely updates and is all around a wonderful human. My dog gets plenty of playtime and has made new doggy friends. I can’t recommend Dogs On The Run highly enough.it is amazing!
We’ve loved our experience with daycare at Hot Dog on a Leash! Our pup has been going every week for the last year and he is always super excited to go! The daycare attendants are always friendly and communicative. They’re great with our young and energetic pup. We tried out some other daycares when we first started looking, and Hot Dog on a Leash was the most conveniently located, had the best pricing, and best of all it was clearly our pup’s favorite place. It’s great to know our pup is in good hands while we’re at work, and that he’s getting to enjoy some supervised play in an outdoor yard with his buddies.
We absolutely love Heather and her team at Hot Dog on a Leash! After researching tons of puppy training programs and trying to figure out which trainers to trust, we are so happy we landed with this team! We started bringing our pup Kai at 4 months for their training program and we have seen such awesome results! We absolutely love the daycare program and it’s always awesome seeing Kai super excited to spend the day with his friends and the Hot Dog on a Leash team! Could not think of a better team to trust with our loved furry friend than the folks at Hot Dog on a Leash!
Hot Dog on a Leash is the BEST place to bring your dog for day care. My pup Sadie loves it there!! She jumps out of the car every time we arrive. It is SO easy to schedule and I feel it is incredible value. I work from home, but love being able to bring her in a few times a week to play and be a dog. Her favorite part is making new friends and all the water she can splash around in. I’m grateful to Camp Hot Dog for always taking care of my Sadie!!
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Hot Dog On a leash. I have three French bulldogs and Heather is our trainer and she is absolutely amazing as well as all of the other trainers that she has, I love taking my puppies to daycare. They look forward to it every day.
My sweet Sully has been going to Hot Dog on a Leash for over a year now, and I couldn’t be more grateful for Heather and her amazing team! Sully goes twice a week, and the excitement starts the moment we pull down the street—he can’t contain himself because he loves it so much! Every time he comes home, he’s completely wiped out (in the best way!) and happy for days. It’s such a relief knowing he’s not only getting great exercise but also being cared for and loved by such a kind and dedicated team. Thank you, Heather and everyone at Hot Dog on a Leash, for taking such wonderful care of my Sully! 💕
Hot dog on a leash is a great little daycare. The staff are warm and friendly, and best of all my dog is completely EXHAUSTED. It’s a smaller place which I like, it feels safer when you have a smaller group of dogs vs a larger group. I can’t wait for summer so archer and learn to swim and get some pool time! Thank you!
We love camp Hot Dog! I've been bringing my 11 month old pup to day camp for around 3 weeks now, and she always has a great time. It's nice having the peace of mind while at work and the prices are affordable.
We enrolled our very stubborn, very independent husky mix in doggie boot camp where he received 3-4 training sessions per day from lead trainer Jairo. What a HUGE difference! Our dog responds beautifully to Jairo, and we're now in the process of being trained by Jairo too. Also, we love how tired our high energy pup is after a day of boot camp. He goes straight to sleep! LOL
My Shepherd has been coming to Hot Dog for over two years. He absolutely loves it. All the workers are so nice and give lots of attention to the pups. I also love this place because the dogs are outside all day long.
Hot Dog on a Leash is the best! My dog Bodhi absolutely loves it there and has so much fun. The staff takes amazing care of him and all the other dogs that go there as well. AshRay is also so kind and helpful. Bodhi had gotten sick once from a tick and flea medicine and she helped take care of him when he was there. She recommended an amazing vet and really took the time and effort into making sure my baby was okay. I felt so reassured and at ease by the way she spoke to me and I will always be so grateful. Please support this wonderful business!
Kylie did an amazing job taking care of my dogs! Will absolutely use her again.
FURRY FAMILY CARE is an awesome dog walking / dog care service I My two high energy four year old Australian Shepards ‘jump for joy’ when Tracy arrives at my home to take them for an hour walk. If I go away from home for a night or two , Tracy and Chris are available to schedule an overnight for Apache and Cheyenne which can include a visit to a professional groomer , two dog walks and provide accommodations for sleeping at their Oceanside home. They custom the dog activities upon the owner request. I found Furry Family Care on Goggle a couple months ago; Tracy and Chris provide me a much needed dog walking service. Most weeks they walk the dogs three times a week. Many days Tracy comes alone and walks both dogs. She likes to play ball with them and engage them in stimulating activities. Tracy and Chris are extremely warm hearted friendly, dependable and congenial.
My two dogs absolutely love going here! They’re always so excited to see everyone and it puts me at ease knowing my pups are in such a caring, loving environment while I’m away. They will send pictures and texts throughout the day, and I also know that I can reach out at anytime for any other updates. They’re so understanding and are more than willing to work with your budget and I’m so beyond grateful and thankful that I found Furry FAMILY CARE.
She was able to take my 70lb American bulldog that has anxiety and a dog aggression for 2 weeks with no issues. I was sent pictures most every day while she was on walks. My roommate picked her up and said she was happy, healthy and indifferent about returning home with him. That’s always the sign of a good sitter.
For over 10 years Furry Family Care has been caring for pets. Their home or yours, with the love and care you have for your furry family. Reasonable, affordable rates, they make it work for everyone.
They're great, they're reasonable, reliable and they'll love your kitties and doggies just like their own
I don't know where to even begin with this review - nothing I say will do it justice! My husband and I absolutely LOVE Giddy Up Pup! We adopted our Nina girl a little more than two months ago and we wanted to integrate her with other dogs as soon as possible - start socializing and learning healthy behaviors. Additionally, we have opposite schedules in our house so someone is always waking up or going to sleep - not the best environment for a puppy with energy! A few neighbors in our complex recommended Giddy Up Pup and I thought it would be a great way to socialize yet still be familiar with dogs we see on the day to day walks. I read the reviews about other day cares in the area with hundreds of 5 star reviews but I will always choose a small business over the bigger dogs (pun intended), a bigger bonus was that it is female owned! On our first day with the temperament test, it must have been 20 minutes or so when I got my first text message saying our girl was doing fantastic! From that day forward, I have relied on the owners and staff with being the BEST possible source of support with our puppy. I know that when our Nina is with anyone at Giddy Up Pup that she is safe, well taken care of, adored, happy, and has her bests interests in mind. They truly go above and beyond any expectations someone could have for a day care. The relief of knowing that "she will have to spend all day in the cage or all by herself," doesn't exist in our world!! In keeping with the times of the new doggy virus going around, I talked to our vet about the continuation and risks of day care. The vet said, "let the dog live and send her to day care if that makes her happy! The rates of sickness in our area of California are so small in comparison to other states that even the dogs who do get sick are able to completely recover." It's hard to argue with that! To come to a close on my rant, we love everyone who loves and takes care of our girl - so we love everyone at Giddy Up Pup! It has been the EASIEST and BEST decision.
Today was our first day, and definitely not our last. Besides my girl BiBi looking, and feeling great, the communication is key for me, it was simple and efficient. My husband said upon picking Bibi up from Giddy up, she was so happy, that's says so much to us. The cut I asked for Bibi was dead on, and my husband was giving the instructions 😁. She is still a pup, and we like Giddy up so much, we will use there day care in the future to help assist in her socializing. Thanks guys, she looks and smells amazing 😍👍🏾.
The BEST place to drop our boy Bhodi off at! He’s always so well looked after and comes home happy as ever and ready to crash! We’re always updated with photos and videos throughout his stay and we always feel so at ease dropping him off at Giddy Up Pup! The team here do a fantastic job at what they do and we’re so glad we found them!
My husband and I are so happy with Giddy Up Pup. We have a monthly membership for our two dogs, who we bring there almost every day. Their staff is super friendly and helpful, I can tell they really care for our dogs, and our dogs are always SO excited to see them. They are efficient, well organized, and extremely reasonably priced compared to comparable services in the area. And on top of it all, I’m always blown away by all the above and beyond ways they care for our pups. For example, they make sure our dogs get to do something different, fun and engaging every day, rather its a new training skill or trick they learn, tunnels and ball pits they get to play in, sprinklers or edible bubbles to chase, or even artwork projects or professional portraits they’ll come home with. Their staff are attentive to little things, and are excellent at noticing and communicating changes in our dogs behavior, and they send us a daily report card with how they were, what they learned/did, and pictures from throughout the day. Again, they go way above and beyond for our pups in both big and small ways, and I very highly recommend them.
We were so nervous to leave our puppy Nala for the first time while we went on a vacation, but the staff at GiDDY UP PUP were so great and helped us feel at ease! I loved that she wouldn’t be in a kennel at all and with someone 24/7. She felt comfortable enough to play, have fun, and rest with all the other doggies. Getting updates everyday also helped us feel better about leaving her there. Will be using them again next time we go somewhere we can’t take our Nala girl!
We did the grooming services today and got Michelle. She did such an amazing job considering that she was able to do my dog's nails! I've been to groomers where they didn't even try 😭 felt like i had a new dog after 🥹😂 Booking the appointment was so convenient, too, because it was through texting. My introverted self was thankful for that and didn't have to call 😂😂
I cannot recommend Giddy Up Pup enough! Our puppy loves going to play with her friends every week! We needed to board our doggies last minute and Giddy Up Pup was the first place I thought of! They all had a blast staying there for a few days and we got updates and pictures of them through their stay! We won't take them anywhere else now! They treat and love our dogs as if they were their own and honestly that's the best feeling!
I can't say enough amazing things about GiDDY UP PUP! We've had our sweet Aussie, Frankie, stay multiple times over the last few months for boarding and the experience has been nothing short of stellar. This last time was on such short notice as we had family fall through, and they were able to get her right in before our vacation. Frankie loves her second home so much! If you love your fur babies as much as we do, I definitely recommend going to them for doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming. The GiDDY UP PUP team is a blessing!
I love this place as my two dogs don’t have to be crated and always seem to be happy and smiling when I pick them up. The staff is amazing and will send you updates or pictures of your pups to keep you informed of their visit. Of all the places I have boarded my pups, this has been the best experience by far.
I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Wonderful people, wonderful dog care, and they really go the extra mile to make sure you and the dogs are happy. We have two dogs with special and different needs, and we feel 1000% comfortable dropping them for daycare or boarding. We've also had a couple situations where we had to shuffle things around at the last minute, and Giddy Up was incredibly understanding.
Jolynn and Rich have been giving exceptional care to my dogs since 2008. They have faithfully walked, played with, stayed with overnight, and loved my dogs for 15 years! I recommend them to you without hesitation--they are trustworthy, kind, and the best people to give daily or overnight care. Call and entrust them with your furry friends--you will be glad you did!
Circle of Friends Pet Sitters has always provided my dogs with excellent, loving care—and this gave me peace of mind whenever I was gone. If I had to contact them for dog care outside of my regular schedule, they worked hard to accommodate my request. I value their services and unhesitatingly recommend them.
Circle of friends has been our go to for taking care of our cats for the last 10 years. Gino, Alley and Jake have been well cared for when we were away.
Absolutely thrilled with Carrie and FURtastic Pets! Carrie has been taking care of our cat Dennis, and we couldn’t be happier. She treats Dennis as if he were her own, and he absolutely adores her. It’s such a comfort knowing he’s in caring hands whenever we’re away. We used to use Rover, but having a local pet sitter like Carrie makes all the difference—she’s reliable, compassionate, and truly loves what she does. Not to mention, she’s fantastic at clipping Dennis’s nails! We can’t imagine trusting anyone else with our furry friend. Highly recommend FURtastic Pets!
Carrie is amazing with our rescue pup! When we got her she was afraid of everything and showing signs of aggression towards our older dog. I’m so glad we found Carrie! Within a month of working with her we have seen such a difference! Carrie works so well with our dog, and is super organized with a training tracker that she keeps updated after every session. She has taught us so much in such a short time and we could not be more grateful!

She will definitely spoil them with love and cuddles!
I found My Spoiled Pet while searching Yelp and thank goodness I did. I called to inquire about their dog walking services and Emily was very professional, friendly and excited to meet my dog. I called several other dog walkers and they seem reluctant to walk my Rottweiler and disorganized. Emily gave me many excellent references to call and I like that she is licensed and insured, just in case there is an incident while walking my Rottweiler. After walking my dog and Lee sent me photos of their walk and made sure I knew everything was going smoothly. That is what really sealed the deal for me I will be using my special pet for all my dog walking services from now on thank you Emily!
I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Emily and her service. I am so glad I found her over a year ago. Trust me when it comes to my pet ChiChi I don’t throw five stars around easily. Emily exceeded every expectation! She is kind, knowledgeable, confident, nutrition savvy for pet’s needs and passionate about what she does. You can really see that she loves animals. I am a world traveler and need a sitter often. She is so incredibly flexible that she will even come and stay at our timeshare. I never worry about my baby because I know he’s with someone that is truly reliable and trustworthy! I highly recommend Emily!
Emily is very loving and responsible. She was great with both my dog and cat. Her passion for all animals is evident in her attention to details, photos, and videos she sends. Emily clearly loves what she does and I highly recommend her. I trust her with my furry kiddos, and I know they are happy and well cared for! My Spoiled Pet is the way to go for pet sitting and dog walking hands down!
Emily is hands down the best pet sitter! She really has a way with animals. Some of our cats have trust issues especially around new people and she won over the whole herd. It brings such peace of mind getting the videos and pictures and seeing our kids be so well taken care of. She navigates the raw feeding, giving meds and supplements, feeding the tortoise, and loving on all of them with ease! I recommend her to anyone with pets!
We just got our fur baby last March, and this was our first time trying professional dog walking & pet care service.. I honestly cannot say enough great things about Emily & the wonderful service she provides. Emily is very professional, genuine & friendly. I immediately felt at ease with the whole process of inviting someone I just met to come into my house and care for our pet. It is clear how much Emily cares about animals, and she treats all animals in her care like they're her own! We were so excited also to receive video and photo messages of our doggie during playtime and walks too! Emily really is the best, I highly recommend!! ❤️
Emily is simply the best. We have 7 cats between 4 months old and 17 years old, all of which eat a raw diet, plus a desert tortoise, and Emily somehow has managed to befriend the whole herd and keep symmetry in our home while we're away. She takes the time to get to know each and every member of the family and earn their trust. She's a true cat whisperer. My wife and I are both pet industry professionals, and Emily is world class when it comes to handling animals. She can even hand feed one of our formerly feral cats that even I can not handle. Simply amazing.
Emily is truly an animal lover and the best caregiver for our fur babies. I’m thrilled to have her write in our neighborhood available to walk our two pups when we are at work or have a last-minute emergency that keeps us out of the house . It puts my mind at ease to have Emily there and she’s so dependable, communicative and sends video updates and photos on every visit which the whole family enjoys!
Emily is so caring and patient. It’s hard for me and I’m sure anyone to trust someone else with their dog but she made me feel so comfortable leaving my baby. My dog (Marley) who is scared and skeptical of most people also loved her which was the best part for me. I would recommend her to anyone who is in need of her services. I’m so happy i found someone who takes care of her like I would and Marley feels safe with someone when I’m not around.
Emily is amazing! I’m always traveling for work, most times it’s last minute, and having someone you can depend on and trust with my dog makes each trip so much easier. She is always on it with updates, photos and videos of my dog. She’s the best and would recommend her to anyone! She’s someone you can trust with your pet!
My neighbor recommended them! The staff is super friendly, you can tell they love their job & the animals! They really care. As soon as we walk in they all greet us, by name. My little guy loves it here! We'll be trying grooming services eventually as well!
The Animal Keeper Encinitas is my pup’s home away from home. He loves going to day camp and playing with friends, with the peace of mind that the other dogs are healthy, too. The price is reasonable for all day care, and the folks who work there are extremely kind and loving towards the dogs. Thanks Animal Keeper for your wonderful care!
I previously used a different boarding facility because it was closer to our house. But Animal Keeper really has shown superior customer service. When you call in, a real human picks up the phone. I called in three times with questions and each time the person who answered was polite, knowledgeable and efficient. That is so, so hard to find today. Additionally, I chose to pay extra for my pup to have the day care experience which was several hours with other dogs. This meant more activity and socialization for him. The competitor offered additional play time for an added cost, but it was for such a short amount of time it seemed less for my dog and more for their bottom line. Thank you Animal Keeper!
I 100% recommend this place, they are very professional, my fur daughter loves coming here, prices are reasonable and they always got special deals going on, Thank you so much for all you do.
My deaf 2-year-old Argentine Mastiff had a fantastic time that play camp she looks forward to going back. They were great with her and she enjoyed them I appreciate the extra concern in time they take with my deaf dog.
Just started bringing my pup there for daycare. I love that they have a "tot-lot" for smaller dogs to playing that the lots are outside since my pup loves to lay on the sun. So far the experience has been mostly positive. Jewel at the front is truly a gem, and was so kind to show me around. The facility is very clean. I had a bad experience dropping off one morning while the gal up front made me wait over 5 minutes to check my guy in while she was on a phone call, when she clearly should have asked to put them on a brief hold and help the customer in her lobby who was waiting to go to work. Unfortunately, this was the manager I learned, so that is very disappointing. One VERY CONCERNING piece of information: THERE IS NO ATTENDANT PRESENT AT NIGHT if you're boarding your dog. They leave the dogs at 7pm unattended until the next am person comes in at 5am. They security cameras but no one is watching all night and there is no sound over the staff. I am not using them for boarding but felt this needed to be shared. If a dog experiences an incident no one will be there to know. Just an FYI.
My dog really loves being here and all of the staff is very friendly. He always comes home happy. Very reasonable pricing. Would highly recommend!
Josh and the whole team at The Animal Keeper (Oceanside) are beyond amazing. I am so grateful for their patience and care. it makes me so happy to know that my (6-year old) Australian Cattledog is able to play and socialize under watchful + knowledgeable staff, when i’m stuck in meetings or have a busy day of errands. Thank you everyone at TAK.
We have a new dog. A young, energetic male! He loves to play at daycare, and helping him burn-off energy gives us a break too. So it’s good for everyone!
Great people all in one service , my baby Bella looks well loved thank you so much
I absolutely love Pacific Pet Resort and Specialty Dog Training.... everyone there is wonderful with our babies, and I have some difficult dogs. They are patient and understanding. I left my border collie heeler mix with them for boot camp training and everything was awesome. My Corgi loves to stay and they give him so much attention. This is the only place I trust with my babies for boarding and training.
I boarded my 2 dogs at Oceanside Pet hotel recently. I was so happy that when the dogs were brought out to me they were happy and excited. Other places I have attempted to leave my dogs they were not so happy. I called throughout my vacation to make sure the dogs were doing okay and every time I called I got a great report. The staff loved my dogs. I was a new customer and received a discount for both dogs to board which was great. There was some miscommunication but the manager took care of the issue without batting an eye. The service was great and the staff was very helpful and caring. When I toured the facility it was very clean and safe. The staff listened closely to my requests for my dogs stay. I would definitely recommend the Oceanside Pet hotel for anyone who needs to board their dogs.
I have taken my dog here in the past and we needed to drop him off for the day. I had my wife call in ahead of time. They said that we just needed an updated shot record for our boy. No problem. She emailed it to them. They also had record of him being there when she called cause he has been there previously quite a bit. When I get there, immediately the girl who was working there had what I would call an attitude. She asked for his updated records which I knew they probably would need so I had it ready on my phone email because they probably hadn't checked their email, and no offense but the girl working the front looked like she wouldn't know what a power button would look like, much less be able to work an email inbox. After giving over my phone, showing her the slip that showed the updated shots, she proceeds to tell me that she can't find a record of him ever being here, also that they have a new policy about breeds and she wouldn't be able to let my dog play in a group. My dog can have been left at home alone. That's not the point of dog day care. My dog is a 40 lbs terrier mix, the friendliest animal that I have ever owned. Loves people almost as much as he loves ALL dogs and babies. I would NOT recommend you taking your animal here.
Our bullmastiff was at another place but for some reason it just didn't work out and thank goodness I found this place. Immediately took our dog here and she loves it. They take all breeds and they understand big dogs, they train them and love on them and when my dog gets home she is exhausted and she loves that place as well, staff is wonderful and they make you feel like your family and treat your dog like they're their own!!! So grateful to all the staff at Pacific Pet Resort!!!! Annie loves this place!!!!!!
I've had (Manu) my Pit/Mastiff here since he was about 4 months he turned 2yrs on Nov 1st (today) and these guys run this place with very high standards by the way they handle the dogs to how clean they keep this place inside and out! They have the utmost professionalism I've seen which means a lot to me as a retired Marine. I can always see the love they have for not just my dog but every dog/cat that comes through here! Larry and the rest of the staff do a superb job on a daily basis! Highly recommend!!!!
My dogs were there for boot camp originally. They were trained by Perry and he did a great job. My concerns were they were exhausted and had lost several pounds. I understood the exhaustion. They worked with them diligently to get them where they needed to be in the time we agreed on. We were informed on a regular basis of their progress and health. At the end of June they were boarded a week with follow up training. No follow up info was given like before and they lost the weight they had gained. We picked up our dogs and one was sluggish and "coughing". We took him to the vet, he had kennel cough, beginnings of pneumonia, and fecal toxemia. My vet said it was due to the kennel not thoroughly being cleaned. After speaking to Nikki, the manager, she told me they would do a thorough cleaning and they had checked the dog several times a day...but I don't believe this was the case this time. I appreciate the hard work in training my dogs and keeping them for a month, but I won't be using their services again. I've spent close to $500 and 3 wks caring for a very sick dog because of their facility not being properly maintained.
We continue to have an excellent experience at the Oceanside Pet Hotel! Our Pomeranian, Lily is always greeted with excitement and joy when she comes into the reception area. The facility is clean, everyone is friendly and pickup and drop-off is a breeze! We highly recommend the doggy day care, especially since our dog is always eager to go back.
The facility and staff were great. My only hesitation to taking my pup back is the sad reality of the resorts neighbors, the humane society. The whimpers, barking and crying that came from nextdoor made my pops anxiety rise a bit. We will try it once more in the near future as his anxiety could have been from being at daycare for the first time.
I absolutely do not recommend this facility to anyone for boarding. I have to say they did a great job of convincing me that boarding my baby there was a good idea but that was not the case at all. I've boarded him elsewhere before with absolutely no issues. Everything leading up to his stay went fine. I visited the facility a couple times, had all my questions answered, got a tour of the facility showing me the nice long indoor/outdoor kennel he would be in, and I even brought him in the day before we left for daycare so he could get to know them and vice versa. Everything seemed great and I felt confident in trusting them with my baby, I thought it was going to go so well. However, my experience at Pacific Pet Resort was so much the opposite that my friend had to pick my dog up TWO DAYS EARLY because of how bad it was. We dropped him off on Friday morning and gave them his food and they assured me everything would be great. I called later that day to check up and was told everything was going fine, and called again the next day in the morning and again was told everything was fine. A few hours later I get a call from one of the managers saying my dog is showing food aggression and they think it's best he be taken home. It isn't until now that they tell me he hasn't eaten either of the meals they fed him, he just tried to hide it and then showed some aggression when they took it away and is now not letting any of them handle him at all. At this point I'm so confused and worried about my baby because he has NEVER acted this way before. But I didn't think too much of it at this point because they were so nice on the phone I believed they were genuinely concerned for the well-being of my dog and not their own convenience. Regardless I'm so upset because I could only imagine how scared and insecure he had to feel to act this way, and I felt helpless as I was out of state and couldn't get back to him. They insisted that it would be best for him to go home so I had my friend pick him up. My friend told me she did not trust the way they treat the animals in their care. The kennel attendant that took her back was thanking her over and over again for coming to take him away, didn't say a single positive thing about by dog except the fact that he was leaving, and she could hear workers in the background telling the dogs to shut up because they were barking. Then, when they got to my dogs kennel she said it was WAY smaller than the ones they showed me. Then she said my baby was shaking so bad and so visibly stressed out that she knew something wasn't right, she said she'd never seen a German Shepherd shake like that. THEN (and this is the part that made my blood boil) she said the second the guy put his hand on the latch my poor baby PEED himself because he was so scared. My dog has NEVER EVER done that before so I knew right then that something really was wrong. After seeing that she demanded that he let her in the kennel and he questioned her like he was concerned my dog would attack her or something even though Duke recognized her by now was was jumping up on the gate and licking at it because he wanted to see her. She just grabbed the latch and opened in and she said he immediately was so happy she was there. Then they gave her a slip leash, which they were informed to use with caution because he HATES those, and she even brought up that I told them that and the guy just said "I don't know, maybe" well excuse me but isn't it your job to know that?! And on top of that they wouldn't have given his collar, leash, and harness back if she hadn't asked about it. When she asked the guy said "oh do you want those?" OF COURSE. Why would she not? And they didn't give any of the three days worth of food back, claiming there wasn't any left even though he'd only need there one day and hadn't eaten anything as I was told. Overall I was not pleased with my experience at all. The office staff is very nice but the staff that handles the animals directly seems incompetent and inexperienced and I will never be going back.
They have great hours for drop off (0630) and pick up (7pm). The staff is nice. My dog seems to love it here for day care. He comes home tired in a great way.
I love this place. I enrolled my shy guy into the day training program. He is half way through his first sessions and I am seeing amazing progress. The staff and trainers are super responsive. And I love how clean/secure the facilities are. I feel my little dude is in great hands. I appreciate how strict staff is with vaccines too!! Keeping our fur babies safe and healthy. This place is a GEM. Orbit comes home tired & happy!!!
Excellent care ! We have been bringing our dogs for daycare, and they love coming! We have also used the boarding and feel comfortable they are in good hands. We love getting pictures while we are away . Tara and Adam do an amazing job caring for our fur babies . Kristen has groomed our goldendoodle and does a wonderful job too. The Team at Alcala is great 👍
My husband and I adopted our sweet boy Beaux in June of 2024. We quickly discovered he would get really overstimulated, really quickly. And while we were researching and training at home as much as we could, we were finding ourselves facing issue after issue or setback after setback. He was reactive to all dogs, and even though his reactivity was that of excitement, we knew that he didn’t have the tools necessary to come face to face with other untrained dogs like him (dogs that were submissive or had good training previously were okay for him to handle). We knew we needed help and were recommended Alcala by another pet parent at the dog park. We set up our orientation as soon as we could and we immediately fell in love with the place. The manager, Courtney, did our orientation and was SO knowledgeable about every single topic we had questions about. I was incredibly nervous to leave him there - as I was DREADING the (what felt like inevitable) phone call telling me Beaux was too much for them to handle. But, the call never came. In fact, when we picked him up the first day, and saw how happy he was, we knew immediately that we made the right decision choosing Alcala. He did one five-week class at two days a week and the improvements we saw from him were undeniable!! He walked on leashes better, his reactivity was better, his at home manners were better, and while we knew he had a long way to go, I felt so much more confident and SAFE taking him outside on my own. At the time, he was about 90lbs, today he’s a 101, and the fear I had about not being able to handle him is largely gone and I credit it 100% to Alcala. Our trainer, Cydney, was with us every step of the way. We would ask question after question, provide story after story for context, and she would always have exercises that would potentially (and usually did) help immensely. For the rare occasion that something we learned and tried wasn’t helping as well as we would’ve hoped, she would quickly pivot, demonstrate, and give us new exercises to try. We saw so much improvement in his first five-week package that we signed up for another - simply hoping for more of the same, because his progress was unbelievable. We were pleasantly surprised to see more progress yet again. Not only did we maintain the level of training he had learned but he expanded on it even more! Beaux is calmer, SO much less reactive, and is so much more well behaved at home (which is shocking because he never really gave us a hard time in the first place). He finished out his package this week, and while we’re going to take the rest of the year to be home and spend the holidays with family, my husband and I are already making plans as to when we can bring him back. The joy Alcala has brought Beaux is palpable. The ease of mind and confidence it has brought me is undeniable. My husband feels more confident handling training situations in public, a task I am still trying to master. I could not recommend Alcala enough. Courtney, Cydney, and the rest of the amazing staff have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. We cannot wait to be back!
Best daycare and boarding in town! They keep you updated on your dog and even gave our pup some pumpkin due to a stomach issue. They treat our dog as their own pet and we love them! Our dog June is always happy to go for the day or stay overnight at Alcala!
Tara, Adam, and the Alcala Pet Resort Team run a very professional boarding operation. We know our dogs are always safe and in excellent care at Alcala. Over the past 20 years, we have never experienced a better-run quality pet boarding facility- highly recommended - 5-Star
Alcala is a caring and welcoming place for doggie daycare and boarding. I can leave town knowing my pup will be well cared for and safe. They are super sweet with her and I appreciate them!
We trust Alcala and our dog loves it! Our 2 year old lab goes to Alcala for day care, and we board her there when we are out of town. She just stayed for 2 weeks, and previously had been boarded multiple times for up to a week. When we picked her up after 15 days, she was happy and it was like no time had passed! As a dog parent it is hard to find a place that you trust, and we have tried dog sitters in our home but have found that boarding is the best option for us. It's important to enjoy while we are away without worrying, and know our dog is safe and cared for by professionals. That is Alcala for us and we appreciate all the staff!
My very, very, difficult dog started muzzled and dosed with tranquilizers when Kristen did her first groom. Now Emmy, my sweet Maltese, with a snappy streak, just allows Kristen to go on ahead. WE love Kristen, she is a dog whisperer!
Overall I really like Alcala. My dog seems super happy to go there and I love there is so much group play time. I gave you a 4 instead of 5 for 2 reasons: 1) I find the rates very very high, and it's painful to pay for two days of boarding when we technically stay over a single night. There is zero way to pay for one day of boarding, and I find that to be, well, just wrong for the customer. Say I dropped my dog at 4pm on a Tuesday and got him at 9am the next day. I am charged $130. I'd love if you could rethink this policy and charge by 24-hour periods (like, say, a car rental company). 2) I almost never get feedback on how my dog did. I've never had a report card or a photo. I'd love to hear more about his visits.
Full disclaimer: we're empty nesters, so our fur babies have become our children. Therefore, to say that we adore them beyond words and do whatever is in their best interest would be an understatement. I say this because I want you, the reader, to know that we do our due diligence and research when it comes to those we trust with them. No cutting corners, second best, or anything else in between. None of that. So when I say that Alcala was and is a lifesaver, I sincerely mean it. Our maltipoo, Pumpkin, is 12 years old, so a puppy hasn't been in our household for 11 years. Thus, we were a taaad rusty. We adopted Zoom (labradoodle) when he was three months old (almost six months now) and boy o' boy! Did I mention that a puppy hasn't been in our house in over a decade?! Whew! I knew that no matter how much "training" I did on my own, I needed help. And fast. And from professionals. Alcala was recommended to me, and yep, you guessed it, I did my due diligence! But from the initial phone call to the orientation/assessment and through today, I'm glad I chose them and can't thank them enough for what they do. We signed him up for one of the training/daycare packages, and it has been worth every single penny. Every. Single. One. He gets out all the extra energy and sleeps in his "in-between" days, which I didn't think was possible, but he does. Daycare also allows Pumpkin, our other furry baby, to have a much needed break, and I can work peacefully knowing they're both not home all day, every day. So win, win, win. He absolutely LOVES going to Alcala, and although depending on his mood, he may/may not feel like getting into the car, once we arrive and I park, he can't wait to get out! And because he doesn't realize that he's no longer small in size (see photo below), he jumps on me to hurry up because apparently I don't go at the pace he would like. 😉 However, it is a sweet gesture that brings a smile to my face and tells me that he feels loved, protected, and comfortable there, which is the most I can ask for. Once training sessions are completed, he will be a part of regular daycare. I can't thank Courtney, Cydney, Adam, and everyone else enough! Thank you for loving Zoomy and being a special part of his life. Thank you for doing God's work by helping shape these little creatures who are so incredibly precious. Thank you! -Zoom & Pumpkin's Mom & Dad 📷 courtesy of: Alcala
