Dog Sitters in Chaffee County, CO

Poor Customer Service and Communication. Received a call from Alpha Dog Care's owner 4 days before start of overnight boarding reservation that our dog was no longer welcome at facility. This is after our dog had been at Alpha Dog Care on three separate occasions and no issues ever reported to me at time of pick ups. In addition, a staff member commented how much she loved our dog. Last minute cancellation on part of the owner caused my family to have to cancel a weekend getaway due to being unable to scramble for plan b pet care.

I recommend the multitude of Rovers or the other dog boarding facility (Wag-n-tails) over Alpha Dog. They are much better at communication, less expensive, more flexible and way friendlier.

Took great care of our somewhat nervous pup. She ate all her food and had no readjustment issues. We cannot thank you all enough! Great facilities, ability to go outside and stay inside, and also allows the pups to play but gets set break times in the day!

The staff here was really great! We called to see if they could take our two dogs for the day so we could get out and do a days hike without them. When we dropped them off I let the staff know that one of the dogs was not very socialized with other dogs and asked them if she could be kenneled away form the other dogs. They put both of our dogs in a separate part of the kennel where they could run and play and visit with the other dogs through the fence. When we went to pick them up they were happy and well exercised. We will definitely use Alpha Dog Care the next time we are in the Salida area.

Such a fun environment for your fellow fur friends. The owner is incredibly down to earth, sweet family guy who is ready to have a great day with your pup. Definitely recommend this place for day stay or overnight, you can rest assured that you dog is in fabulous hands!

Excellent clean spacious facility with friendly staff. Options for every pup to go outside as frequently as they like. Great location too by the brewery. Our 2 large dogs had a positive experience while we rafted the Arkansas river. 5 stars!

This is the best dog daycare I have ever brought my dog to. It is so clean and spacious. I have absolutely zero worries about taking my dog here. Dane is fantastic and great to work with a check in and check out.

I am so grateful that this facility exists! I was passing through Buena Vista, CO to visit some family on my way to Oregon for a cross-country move. Alpha Dog was in a perfect location. They were thorough in their information and made me feel completely comfortable leaving my doggos for a couple of nights. We opted to try Alpha Dog rather than leave our 7 month old pup in his crate at the hotel while we hit the slopes. We're so glad we did too! Our little dude had a blast! And, the guy (I assume the owner) was so sweet when we picked him up. He told us how our pup did and even mentioned that he kept jumping in his lab to cuddle when the owner would sit down. Our pup is like our baby so it made us feel so great that someone was showing him attention in addition to all the other super sweet pups he got to play with. We will definitely take advantage of Alpha Dog the next time we head to Monarch to ski!

We had a great first experience here. Jackson was super friendly and as far as we can tell, our dog had an epic time here playing with all of the other pups. We’ll definitely be using Alpha as our go-to for boarding.

We've used wag n tails to board our pup twice so far and each experience has been wonderful! the staff is very kind and caring. The pricing is affordable. Being able to leave your dog somewhere that you can trust is monumental. Highly recommend this place!

Sarah bathed and groomed our (stubborn) 14 yr old Australian Shepherd. We could not have been more pleased. Our puppy was not only the best looking dog on the block, she was in a great mood! Sarah has a special touch. I highly recommend Sarah.

We boarded our GSP with Wag'N Tails while in Colorado on vacation. They treated her like their own. The staff was so excited to see our girl and she felt very comfortable with them from the get-go. Check-in and Check-out were seamless, and they were responsive to inquiries while our pup was there. We will definitely be using them again when we travel out that way! Thank you!!!

My pups are all wags when they go in. They love their add-on walks. Wag-n-tails has been incredibly accommodating and makes doing shift work in Salida possible.

This establishment is top notch. My dogs love coming here and the staff is wonderful. I don't know what I'd do without them? They are super helpful and kind to humans and doggos alike!

They saved my arse last September. My jrt hurt his leg while hiking the Collegiate loop. I was able to use Chaffee shuttle from BV to get him to wagn tails where he stayed while I finished my hike. I hope to thru hike the CT with my pup so it's great to know they are there if need be..

I got the strong impression that these people REALLY love dogs, which is easy, but not everyone who does the dirty work enjoys them. My dogs were very happy when I picked them up after a week.

I had a great experience with boarding my dogs here! I tried another dog boarding service in town before I knew of wag-n-tails and they let the dogs all socialize together and my peaceful little dog ending up with a huge scar on her head from getting bullied. I never had to worry about that with wag-n-tails! They are super accommodating and I felt like my dogs were safe there! THANKS Wag-n-tails!!

Mike and Patty have been taking care of my hard to manage fur babies for years. In fact, they are the only ones I trust to give my rambunctious crew the love they need while I'm away. They are always there when I need them and I don't mind driving 120 miles out of my way for the extra peace of mind.Their place is clean, comfy and warm and I won't ever take my dogs to anyone else. If you need boarding, you can trust them to treat your best friend like family.

We brought our dog and two cats here for a 9 night stay and I was very nervous, but after walking in I felt that my pets were going to be in good hands! My dog can be very intimidating to some, they didn’t bat an eye. They made sure we were happy with where the animals were and got to say our goodbyes. We were able to call and get a check in on them anytime. My dog didn’t want to eat at first and they gave him a little treat on top of his food to get him to eat! On top of it all we got a great price and a generous discount we were not expecting. Very thankful and happy with our experience!! Will be using this facility for any future needs! Thank you again!

I have a little 10lb chaweenie with dark black nails. She was overdue for a clipping. BOTH of the ladies there worked with her to make sure they had the nails away from her pads, especially her dew claws. Great variety of treats and food. I will be going to gone to the dogs regularly.

This place was delightful! staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We've had some paw troubles recently so she recommended a salve that's been really helpful. they also have a ton of options for dog food!!! We tried 3 other places to find taste of the wild and this was the only seller. they have all the flavors and tons of other options so this place is your best bet to find what you're dogs been eating.

Great little gem in Buena Vista! They gave my dog a haircut before we went to the river and a few weeks later when we came back he got a nail trim. Comparable prices to what you would see in the city, but arguably better customer service. We'll be coming back for sure next time we are in town!

Gone To The Dogs has a great selection of both food and treats for your fur baby and they will also do grooming as well, they also have a dog bath that you can use to bathe your dogs yourself.

Boutique shop for canines. While the product selection isn't huge, they more than make up for this with high quality items and reasonable prices. And friendliness, of course! We came here to buy items as gifts for our dog's daycare provider. The first time (a weekday) the store was closed due to lack of staff. This is a challenge for entrepreneurs everywhere, especially small towns. But it meant we had to come back a second time in order to support this small business.

The staff were very friendly, and helpful when we took our German Shepard for a self wash, and did a absolutely fantastic job grooming our Husky, who left an entire room full of white fur! It was the best grooming she's ever had! Will definitely be frequent customers!

My dogs and I love this shop! Great selection of healthy treats and chews, food, toppers and other goodies for your pups. The dog wash station has been very useful. And I love that I aquire points with purchases, I've redeemed them for a free dog wash already! 🐾 …

I am camping in the area and my dog got a bit stinky. Took her to Gone To The Dogs and discovered I could bath her myself for a nominal fee. They supplied shampoo, bathing tub, aprons and brushes. Also blow dryed her. We Also picked up some great chews and who knew dogs liked chicken feet... Great store and customer service was excellent. We'll be back!

Just had our puppy groomed for his first time. He is so handsome and smells so clean!! I was worried he would be to squirmy to get his nails clipped and his hair trimmed, but they got it done. He was a happy boy and loving on the ladies when we picked him up. Thank you for doing such a great job. We will be back!

Very fast at getting my pup in for a self wash. Smooth and easy process. The brushes and de-shedder combs could definitely be of better quality and functionality but serve its purpose!

We needed someone to watch our dog, Titus, at the last minute when plans fell through. PlayTime Pet Sitters was able to help and made the process so easy! They were quick to respond to our last minute request, friendly, and easy to work with. Titus got his food, his walks, some love, and all was right with his world! My 3 month old kitten had a great time hanging out with the sitters from PlayTime this past weekend while I was out of town. Deb and Sara sent me several pictures and a text about everything they did each time they visited. It was great to see he was well loved, taken care of, and had plenty of play time while I gone. It was also nice to come home and see that his litter box was fresh, the area around his box was free of all the litter that usually follows him out, and his food and water bowls were clean and full. I know he's looking forward to the next time he'll get to hang out with his Deb and Sara and I'm glad there's one less thing I have to worry about next time I travel.

My dog loves her PlayTime walkers! They have been really responsive, easy to schedule, and reliable. They always send text updates with cute pics after the walks, and leave a "report card" for how the walk went. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Where do I even begin? Susan and her staff have been quintessential for my family’s well-being. My husband and I are both officers in the Army, and we frequently deploy to training rotations and have recently had a nine month deployment overseas. PlayTime Pet Sitters has been a pillar of our pet care while we are away at work. We have an assortment of pets, which includes three birds and two dogs. I simply would not trust any other business to take care of my animals in my absence. There is a lot that I could write about the special care and authentic love for animals Susan and her staff have, but, I will instead summarize it with a single event. In January of 2022, our beloved dog swallowed a plastic squeaker that became lodged in her small intestine. I was alone, as my husband was deployed to a training center, and it was the middle of the night when I took my dog to the Emergency vet. About $7000 later, my dog underwent emergency abdominal surgery, and was recovering well. It was about 9 PM by the time I got her care plan, and I was overwhelmed with anxiety about how I was going to manage her post-operative care, as I had a week-long field exercise starting the following morning and I would not be home. I contacted other pet sitting businesses in Colorado Springs, and they all refused to schedule visits so last-minute despite my desperation. I contacted Susan at PlayTime that evening around 2 AM, in tears, desperate for a sitter that could care for my first and only dog as an adult at the time. Susan could not have been more superb; she reassured me that she would help me, and provided me with caretakers that gave my dog the best post-op care. Including feeding her baby food three times a day, and administering all medications with only written instructions from me on a letter I left for them in my home. PlayTime Pet Sitters has taken care of my family for well over a year. Their care is unmatched, and their dedication to animals is admirable and almost unbelievable. I have had a wide range of pets my entire life, including iguanas and a variety of farm animals. I am passionate and serious about my pets receiving the best care possible. I do not and will not give my business to anybody else in Colorado Springs. I would pay double the fee if it meant I could guarantee Susan and her team would look after my pets. If you are looking for a business that will love your furry, scaly, and feathered family members as much as you do, look no further. Thank you Susan, Linda, and every other incredible caretaker that has been a part of our pets’ lives. You have made our oftentimes challenging and unpredictable lifestyle more secure.

We had a great experience with PlayTime! In the past we’ve boarded and had friends watch our cats, but this was much better for the cats and us. They are very thorough, attentive, and professional. We felt good knowing that some of the people watching our cats actually had experience as vet techs or were studying to become vet techs. We got pictures and messages at each visit and it was nice not having to worry about the cats at all while we were away. And when we got back the cats were completely themselves! In the past they’ve had about a 2 day period of being mad at us.

We just had our first experience with Playtime Pet Sitters this weekend and we are amazed! Susan is incredibly responsive and reliable, and Sara and Deb took great care of our sweet Indy. I was impressed with their punctuality and their communication, and when we returned home we couldn't see any signs that anyone had stayed overnight that weekend. They took great care of our home and possessions, and we are very thankful to have found Playtime. Loyal customers from here on!

Playtime Pet Sitters is the best pet sitting company in Colorado Springs! The prices are reasonable, but that’s definitely not the only great thing. They truly care about your animals, and isn’t that the most important thing? We hired them to care for our pets during a weekend away, and I will never hire anyone else. They came ahead of time to meet our dogs and see where the dog food and crates were. They were polite and thorough. I made a mistake in the scheduling, but they were happy to work with me and make sure the pets were cared for. They came each day at the scheduled time and took lots of pictures! They even leave a little handwritten report of what happened while you were away. I never worried about the dogs because I knew they were in the best hands. If you’re on the fence about hiring them or still looking around, you’ve found the right place. You will not regret it! You won’t find a company that can give you as much peace of mind while you’re away from your fur babies!

Loved my experience with PlayTime Pet Sitters! I went on a last minute trip out of town for a weekend and they were able to accommodate my request and were very professional which I appreciated. My cat and I got to meet my sitter (Susan) before my trip and it’s clear she has a lot of experience with pets and is very trustworthy. She made a lot of effort to understand my cat, his habits, quirks, favorite toys, and so on, which made me more comfortable with leaving him for a weekend because I knew he would be in great hands! It’s a little pricier compared to getting a pet sitter from a site like Rover but at the end of the day, I want to hire people I trust with my pet and will continue to use PlayTime Pet Sitters for my pet sitting needs. 🙂

We had the best experience with PlayTime Pet Sitters. They looked after our two kittens over the Christmas holiday. We loved how they sent us a message update after every visit and how sweet the sitters were to our kittens. Our sitters were Amy and Laura - I highly recommend them to anyone!

We needed a pet sitter to care for our new cat and they took such great care of him while we were gone! Followed instructions to a T and sent lots of cute photos from the visits. We came home to a happy kitty, a nice report card of how they spent time with him , and all of our mail stacked neatly inside. Prior to the first visit, we had a home visit where the sitters met us and learned where everything was. Easy to book and pay online and the sitters were kind and professional. When your puppy or grown dog, goes to Vanessa's house for daycare or overnight care, there are a number of things you can count on. 1. Your dog will be treated like a member of the family. Vanessa welcomes the dogs she cares for into her home and her family. 2. Your dog will become a member of a pack. Vanessa has 3 of her own dogs and screens all new dogs coming into that pack for compatibility. No mean aggressive dogs allowed! 3. Your dog will come home exhausted and happy! Vanessa offers lots of play time for the pups in her care. She even provides a kiddy pool to cool off in on hot days. Lots of play time and interaction with other dogs always guarantees a happy and content dog upon pickup. Vanessa came to my rescue after I brought home an energetic Australian Shepard. I work full time and was not able to give this new puppy the attention and exercise she needed. I started taking my pup to Vanessa's at about 5 months old 2 - 3 times a week. When I brought my pup home, she was quite content which made my training so much easier. I am very grateful to Vanessa and her kind and professional approach to taking care of other peoples fur babies.

Vanessa is amazing and we feel very fortunate that our paths crossed. Our “Ellie” came from an abusive situation so she has trust issues with new people. When we recently relocated from another state to Colorado we knew it would be challenging finding the right connection to care for her while we are out of town. If we could have moved our FL doggy sitter with us it would have been nice, as there was much anxiety about finding a new caretaker. Vanessa has been nothing short of incredible. She drove up to our home and did three introductory visits prior to us going out of town. This was beyond our expectations and we were thrilled to see how Ellie took to Vanessa. Since then we have taken two trips out of town and Vanessa has been wonderful. Each and every day we received text messages giving us an update on Ellie, along with several pictures of ‘play-time’. It brought such peace of mind knowing that she was being well cared for, and in our home. We felt very connected the entire trip, and never worried. Typically when one boards their pet it is always comes with a sense of worry. However, this has not been the case with Vanessa. I always felt at ease, and excited when the next text message would arrive with a new daily update. Not to mention the fact that she goes above and beyond making trips during winter storms to ensure Ellies' needs were taken care of. From the moment you meet Vanessa you will see that she is compassionate about animals, excited about her work and always seems to have your pets care as her top priority.

We are very happy with the care given to our 2 dogs while we were traveling for 12 days. They visited 4 times a day, every day, even in over a foot of snow that fell during this time. They fulfilled every special request - even brushing both dogs' teeth every day. We received reports including pictures after every visit. They are very reliable and kind. I wouldn't hesitate to use their service in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Playtime Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers. Jennifer & Danielle took care of our two bunnies while we were on vacation for Thanksgiving. Each time they visited, they would send us photos of our fur babies & detailed descriptions of how the visit went. They went above & beyond our expectations! DID NOT GET SERVICE! But I need to note their amazing customer service. Called for 6 days of sitting 5 days before we needed it. They told us what they could manage with the short notice. They then told us they could accommodate our entire schedule thanks to the owner stepping in to care for our pups! Rare to find an owner who goes the extra mile. That level of commitment is why I will trust them in the future. This time a relative stepped in last minute and gave our pups 24hr care so we canceled. The owner was just happy the pups were getting the best care possible. Come for the professionalism. Stay for the love.

PlayTime Pet Sitters is amazing! I recently had to travel for a week and had to leave my little dog for one of the first times. Susan, Amber, and the team were so wonderful and did everything they could to work me into the schedule. My little guy was so well loved and cared for while I was gone. Susan and her team were amazing. Their portal system is so convenient and user friendly. They upload pictures from each visit, with a description of how the visit went. There is a reply portion if you have questions, and they respond very quickly. When I called Susan in a frantic state that we were stuck in the airport and wouldn't arrive until the following day, she made sure our "babies would be taken care of until we came back home". I couldn't have asked for a better petsitter. Thank you girls so much!

PlayTime Pet Sitters were great with our dogs! Since our dogs get far too stressed in a kennel we used to rely on friends, but that was a lot to ask. Playtime Pet Sitters came the the rescue and allowed us to make sure our older dog got his medication on time, and gave our puppy much needed play time. We got photo updates along with a description for every visit and they managed to clean our yard, get mail, packages, and put out the trash too! I'm glad there's such a reliable service in our area and we're looking forward to using them again.

I used Playtime back in 2020 when I first moved to the Springs and was very impressed with the care and services provided then. Fast forward a couple of years after having friends and neighbors looking in on our cats and finding that everyone is suddenly busy traveling and getting back to their lives after the pandemic. We had a few trips where we needed to call in the professionals and we were so happy to return back to Playtime. From the personalized phone call from Linda to the in person meeting with Susan, we were all around impressed. The communication and updates from the visit eased any anxiety about leaving our cat alone at home a few days. Would 100% recommend them and already have them on the schedule for trips this summer.

Hannah handled everything with expertise, sent us detailed notes as well as pictures of her visits, and assured us that all was well. Mountain pals is in unique, even “boutique“ sort of service. You could be dropping your dog off at some doggy daycare, where he or she spends part of their day in a kennel and part of their day running around a 30’ ring with other dogs. Not here, your dog will be enjoying a day in the wilderness running in a pack as nature intended. There are risks involved here. If you want your dog to enjoy life as a nature intended you need to be sure that your dog has been trained or naturally has the desire to stay with the pack. Rebecca treats your animals like one of the family Including opening our home to them. Instead of a cage, they hang out on the couch. Dogs enjoy a great diet, lots of exercise, sunshine, and the company of others. We all appreciate the photos that Rebecca sends out of the dogs throughout the day. There’s nothing more fun than getting a picture of your pooch enjoying his day while you’re at work It’s reassuring and it makes us feel like a better pet owners. Rather than kenneling a dog and seeing that somebody stopped by to let him pee, our dogs is out having the day that I wish we could! The pictures, the excellent personal service, transportation services and most importantly the expert facilitation of socialization in a pack setting and mentality using the Colorado wilderness as her classroom, Rebecca is hands down the best at what she does. Im not one to write fan letters but this one is merited. Rebecca is very dedicated to her business, to customer service but most importantly to improving the life’s of the animals in her care. The dog sitting service met all my expectations. She took great care of my dog and provided daily hikes, which ensured he got sufficient exercise. I appreciated their method of slowly introducing the dogs to each other, as it made me feel confident about my dog's safety. They were reliable and well-organized.

If you have been searching for someone in the mountains to care for your dog look no further. My three year old lab has been going to daycare at Mountain Pals since he was six months old and it has been nothing but a positive experience all around! Rebecca is very accommodating with booking + pickup/drop-offs, payment is easy, daily pictures from the walk and updates about his new pup friends are the best to get each day while I'm at work. It is also fun to track his miles on his GPS collar that he wears on his adventure hikes at Mountain Pals. The only problem is now he ALWAYS wants to be at daycare with Rebecca and his pup friends. :)

Rebecca does an amazing job caring for our two miniature Heelers. They go on daily hikes, which they love tremendously. Rebecca is very caring and LOVES dogs. She has been our only pet sitter since 2009, we like her that much! She always texts us with updates and pictures. When she pulls up to pick up our dogs, both go running to her with excitement. Mountain Pals has always taken the utmost responsibility and care for Midge and Dickey Bob, as well as Josie and Donna Jean in the past.

Mountain Pals is a great pet sitting service. Rebecca always goes above and beyond taking care of our dog. She takes him on a great hike daily and gives me updates throughout the day. He does wear a GPS collar for extra security. Great company, super reliable, safe, and so much fun for our dog!

Rebecca has been watching our dogs for over seven years and I can't imagine leaving them with anyone else. They both have special dietary and medication needs. They aren't the most energetic dogs and she does a good job of balancing exercise with rest. The Mountain Pals service is 1000% times better than any boarding facility because she gives our dogs real outdoor exercise and one on one attention. Both of our dogs love visiting Rebeccas for both day visits and overnights.

Perfection! This place is SPOTLESS with a staff that truly cares and the dogs know it! We had a 4 day overnight board and could not have asked for more from Pet Au Paire and staff. Ricky Bobby & Shake n Bake had the time of their lives! We strongly recommend the adventure and off leash walks. They had so much fun playing with the other sweet dogs (I think they made some lifelong friends) and slept well every night. We just picked them up and they are out cold exhausted!! Thank you PAP team - we will be back next year for a week with every extra we can order!

We frequent crested butte a LOT with our pups and usually we just take them on our adventures with us or leave them in the car (for winter and cool weather. They’re husky mixes they love it pls don’t come at me) but recently we’ve gotten super into mountain biking which isn’t the most dog friendly activity and found pet au pairs! They were great! Our pups came back so tired and ready to sleep and chill at our camp site. Our bigger pup yeti was able to get his nails clipped which was awesome! Most places you have to do a trial run but pet au pairs as long as your dogs are friendly and up to date on vaccines they will take them!!! They also do adventure off leash walks which we debated doing as well but definitely will try the next time we’re in town! We enjoyed it so much we booked the next day last minute. Our pups were SO excited to return the next day. 10/10 recommend.

We travelled to Created Butte from Texas for a week’s stay. We booked our dog for a week at Pet Au Pairs. Our evening flight was cancelled and we had to fly the next evening, with an 88 year old wheelchair bound mother and an Alzheimer’s stricken young adult on Saturday night to get there. We brought the dog Sunday and they were closed. Another day down. I called leaving several messages and spoke to Lexi an assistant. She said she couldn’t find our reservation but had already charged our credit card for a deposit. What? Finally we reached Meg, the owner, to tell her that we would no longer be coming as our vacation was now half way over. All Meg did was tell me how irresponsible we were for not calling during our messed up travel days to let them know. Maybe that’s true but she had no sympathy or human regard for the strain of our trip and that they were not available to take our dog once we did arrive on the Sunday. They kept our $238 deposit without discussion. I suggest you all check out other means of boarding your dogs as Pet Au Pairs will not be willing to work with you if you have unexpected circumstances. Never again Pet Au Pair. Terrible customer service.

My long haired dog Lucy was very matted and in need of a groom. Did a very very good job of getting all of her Matt’s out she came out so pretty and soft I recommend anyone in need of a groom to go here if your in the gunnison valley

We used pet au pairs for two days of doggy day care for our 9 month old giant schnauzer while we were skiing. I can’t say enough positive things about this place! It felt small, clean, and they were so attentive! The staff was amazing, seemed to really care for our pup and was eager to show us how and what she did during the day. She came back tired and excited to return the next day. We will certainly be using again should we ever need care while in town again!

Meg and Dylan were absolutely amazing with my girl Ava. She can get overwhelmed in some of the larger doggie day care settings, but thrived in the smaller, more one on one environment at Pet Au Pairs. They kept me updated with pictures via text throughout the day, and the daycare report cards at the end of the day when I picked her up were so wonderful. This is Ava having a "conversation" in the office. She had a wonderful time!

We had an amazing experience with Pet Au Pairs! We were in town for a ski trip and dropped our 8 year old cocker spaniel off for a few days. She absolutely loved doggy daycare and came home exhausted and happy.

Meg and her team are awesome! We’ve never felt so comfortable boarding our dog and he had a great time! He really loved the off leash walks.

Meg helped me with training my dachshund puppy Schnitzel. I felt she was firm but patient.She taught him to walk the on the leash and stay in place, etc. I was delighted that he responded to what she taught him and he is still doing well. The only issues I have with him have been because I'm the one that is not well trained and usually any bad behavior is because I allowed it. Bad Human!! Good Schnitzel!!

Meg and her whole team are so fantastic! We have a cat and a bearded dragon and we trust both under the care of anyone at Pet au Pairs. We travel quite a bit and it’s nice to not have to worry about anything while we are gone.

Left my 1.5 yr old pup here for the weekend. Let me start by saying my dog has never had an accident, not even in the 2 months he was at the shelter where he was left alone for 12 hours per day (I know this because I worked there). I picked up my dog from the kennel and his bed was wet and smelled off pee and he smells of pee. I don’t know how long he must have been left alone to have an accident but beware. She also didn’t say anything, just handed back the bed and sent us on our way. I don’t know if she didn’t even notice and in fact that might be worse.

Don’t believe the nah sayers about this place. The staff is awesome and made extra effort for our small pups to feel safe. Will definitely be back!

Jan at Double J Cross was great to work with! The kennel was just minutes down the road from the Mt Princeton Hot Springs Resort and offered us a great, safe spot to drop the puppers off for the weekend. She even made time for us to pick them up on Sunday without any additional charge. Her rates were very reasonable too! Our dogs were very well taken care of and we could not be happier! Definitely check her out if you’re looking for a kennel while in the area!

Horrible Experience Took our dog here several times with good experiences. This last visit, she didn't remember that we had called for a reservation. When we dropped him off, we filled out a registration form again with our cell phone numbers etc, because she didn't seem to remember us. Then she grouched at us for wasting her forms. When we came to pick up our dog. She tells us she has been trying to call us for three days, that our dog freaked out and tore up her kennel and that she had to clean up all the blood!!!??? We are obviously alarmed. She goes on to tell us that this is the first time he's been there and that we need to get him help!!?? He'd been there 4 times in the last 8 months... She goes on and on about how she left messages for us and that she had to sedate him. All the while, we are wondering what state our poor dog is in. She doesn't know what number she tried. And says that we didn't leave her any other numbers...we remind her that she grouched at us for filling out another registration form, that had both of our cell phones and our veterinarian's info. Further we had filled this form out every other time we had been in. Finally we demand to see our dog. Our beautiful golden retriever's face was cut up, his teeth were broken. He was shaking when we released him from her cage. We were so shaken by the whole thing, that we agree to pay the hundred dollars for her kennel gate. We took him to our veterinary the next day and she warns us that he will probably need his teeth fixed over the next year or so. We travel often and he has been to several kennels in several states. Never had any issues. As a matter of fact, we generally get comments from the kennels about what a sweetheart he is. He is a typical Golden Retriever, as gentle as they come. We just can't believe that she attempts to run a kennel. She doesn't seem to have the mental capacity, ability, desire to run a business, let alone care for people's dogs. We of course will never return. We would strongly discourage anyone from leaving their dog here, if they care about the dog's well being. From what we can tell, she called our home phone once and left a message. The best we can figure is that we dropped the dog off at 6 pm on Thursday and the first time that he was checked on was at 10 am the next day. BEWARE, this place is not safe for your pet.

Wow, just...wow after reading the last review. Just came on here to leave a decent review as I remember there only being older ones when I found Double J online before our trip over Labor Day Weekend, which I was afraid would be unavailable. Our two mid/large terriers appeared fine when we picked them up around 6pm, with no issues mentioned or apparent. They were extremely thirsty the entire evening after we stopped in Buena Vista, a half hour later, so I was concerned about water availability during their overnight stay. Jan, the owner, mistook some comments I had during our conversations, but didn't seem lacking in knowledge, ability, or intent; although she may have a hearing deficit that could create some issues. FYI, Jan was very particular when we arrived: wanted food in a sealable plastic bin, desired traditional bedding that could not be torn/shredded by your pet, and pick up time, though listed as by appointment, truly is as posted in their daytime hours (not after 6pm). They had great seven day/week available times.

Very accommodating, is run by a dog breeder so they are competent to handle most problems. The Kennels them selves are nothing fancy your standard indoor-outdoor run and is kept very clean(cleaner than I have found elsewhere). They also groom dogs but I haven't used that service. I like them have used them several times and will use them again.

The woman taking care of the place has unfortunately become too old to operate this place correctly. She didn't remember my reservation even after calling about 6 times to confirm. So I didn't leave my dog there as it did not feel right.

The Owner is now older and having trouble Keeping the Kennel to Colorado agriculture standards of Cleanliness and up Keep. As Well For all her AKC Breeding Dogs need better and healthier environment. Let's Keep her in our prayers

Jan is a compassionate person who cares very deeply about dogs and their humans. I won't go into details, but I've personally witnessed her kindness and generosity toward an individual who's recently been dealt a tough hand.

Left my dog here for the day. I wasn't thrilled with the bare bones cement-floored crates and tiny outdoor runs, but it was the only place in the area. When I came to pick up my dog, I found that she had been stuck outside in the rain all day. She was in the outdoor run, curled up and shivering, and no one had noticed. I guess she hadn't been able to get back inside, but no one had been back there all day.

Oh be Dogful dogs live their best lives in an environment of love and devotion. The ranch is a unique and special place. Thank you Leigh, Amber, Caroline, and Tamara for your kindness and dedication.

These guys are great!! They took great care of our pup while we were away, and were attentive to our dogs needs, when they noticed our puppy might want a little space from the other dogs they found a way to put him in a different area where he could relax a little! I know our dog was in good caring hands when we were gone and we'll use them every time we're in CB!!

Leigh and her staff are great. Our dogs are always so happy to go to daycare and come home whooped from playing all day. We appreciate the team’s hard work keeping our babies safe and happy.

Maddie misses this daycare tremendously. She came here every Tuesday and Thursday for 2 years before we moved out of the valley. I would take the bus down to gunni for work before OBD opened but they would pick up Maddie from my home for daycare. She loved the outdoor space even when it was subzero temps! Denver is a bit warm for her. When walking Maddie in CB, I’d run into employees from OBD that would come up and pet her. All of my neighbors sent their pups here. I’m sad we don’t have facilities like this in Denver.

We used the daycare for our 2 boys while we went skiing during the week (visiting from out of town). Super chill crew, nice facility and our boys had lots of fun. Will be back when we're in the area again! Thanks guys!

Words cannot describe how much I love this place and the people who work there. Have been taking my dogs here for about 6 years and even though my fuzzy children are a serious handful they always take great care of them and make them feel loved. Thank you OBD!

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our dog stayed here while we were traveling on a family vacation. He did great and we felt like he was in good hands. I trust them and would definitely recommend to others.

Great place to drop your dog off for the day or overnight. They have a large outdoor playground for the dogs to play in. Our Golden Doodle is always pooped at the end of the day after playing hard all day!

We left our pup here when we were shooting an 8 hour wedding day in Crested Butte and they were amazing! They took the time to meet him and introduce him to the other dogs, and he was super tired when we picked him up. Will definitely use them again if we're back in the area!

My girl had the best time at daycare! K9 Haven took the time to get to know Knox and give her a really fun experience. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful facility in our town!

Thank you K9 Haven team! What a great facility for boarding and doggy daycare. Gus our 5 month old husky mix has been going for toddler tumbler play time and wow does he love it! He receives supervised socialization from the caring and knowledgeable staff and comes home worn out and happy. What a great addition to our community.

I'm so glad K9 Haven is in Bunea Vista!! I regularly see people asking where their dog can hang out while they spend some time in our area, and this facility is the perfect place for a few hours, or overnights. With attentive and amazing staff always on hand, I feel like my dog finally has a safe place to go hang out. We used the self wash today, for a very affordable price and well thought out space. Everything was included, and it made for a really easy and fun experience for me and my girl! The facility is really impressive, and you can tell that everyone there is passionate about what they do. We absolutely love it, thanks for all the hard work!

K9 Haven has a wonderful facility and staff. They continue to take great care of my dog, Ranger, when he goes to daycare. He gets valuable socialization while I’m at work, and is a tired happy puppy when I pick him up. What an amazing addition to our community.

Our dog, Balakeyz, had a wonderful time. She was well cared for. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and treated us like family. I would highly recommend them for any boarding needs.
