They only use the very best products on them and the are quick and efficient. I been to another groomer for a 9 am appointment and my baby was there for 6 hours!! That’s when Downtown Pups got my businesses and I am so grateful I made that switch!

Molly had a great experience and didn’t even wanna leave. I had difficulty cutting her nails at home and found ease with getting an appointment here at Downtown Pups! Such a cute little shop with staff that absolutely loves our furbabies just like we do. We will be back!

Downtown Pups took such great care of my girl! I have an 80lbs Greater Swiss Mountain dog and she went in for a bath and deshed and she came out seriously smelling SO GOOD. I’m going to need to ask what they put on her. She looks amazing, smells fabulous, and came out with the cutest pink bandana! Everyone there was very nice and attentive! We will be back again!

Great place to take your pups! They did an excellent job on the haircut. They got them in and out in 2 hours. That’s important to me because every other groomer I have gone to takes at least 4 hours and I could never understand why. The place is nice and clean and that is important too for the health of your pet. I definitely recommend.

Yesterday was the first time we used Downtown Pups for doggy daycare. I was so impressed by how we were greeted, and how quickly we were able to get our dogs with the others! My wife said the check out process was incredibly smooth too. We move to Hopewell next week, and we can't wait to use them more for our energetic pups!

Took my 2 shi Tzu's for the first time last week! It was great! They looked awesome, the price was very really and they were ready an hour and a half after I dropped them off!! Definitely recommend and will definitely be back on a few months!!

This hurts me to post this but I was very disappointed with how my dog came out from our recent trip. It took almost 2 and a half hours for a simple cut, bath and nail trim and to top it off they didn't listen to how I want my dog cut. I showed a picture from one other time Cooper was groomed there. I explained that I wanted him shaved but to leave his mustache and beard as they were but they proceeded to trim it anyway. For what was paid and to take as long as it did for the results was unsatisfactory. Very disappointed with this experience

They did a fabulous job on my 5 month old Yorkie. She had some matted hair and they took care of that. I am so happy with their business and look forward to going back to have my baby looking so cute. Highly recommended you won’t be dissatisfied!!!! Before and after pictures. We were only here for 6 months and sent our dog for daycare and boarding primarily. He had a BLAST. They provide small group and supervised play, training activities, and enrichment. The staff go above and beyond, including eating their lunches or providing extra treats for my dog when he was boarding to make sure he ate his food. The daycare hours are great, and I really appreciated being able to tour the facilities before buying a daycare package. The 90lb pyre-doodle also got groomed here a few times, and, each time, he turned out looking fantastic. Very experienced grooming staff, and all of them will love your fur baby as much as you do. One of the best spots in Hopewell, and we will miss these guys!

Took our Yorkie there to be groomed which included bathing, cut, ears and nails done. Told them to shave a little closer from his eyes to back of his nose as they have watery eyes and that helps them look better. Well they shaved too much between eyes and nose, has sparsely hairs all over his face above his eyes was not clipped. For the price deeply unsatisfied will not be bringing him back there and of course do not recommend the business.

Took my goldendoodle there to get a haircut today and I’m very happy with the results, they did a great job and his haircut looks great and he smells very good.

I have a small Yorkie with special ears and Joy Luck Pup gets her right everytime. I admire her expertise on dog cuts and I value her opinion each time. I love bringing my pup here. The service and prices are very good.

I took my dog tugs over there to get her a bath clipper nails she's such a little scaredy cat when it comes to stuff like that but they did an excellent job if they don't mind I'll probably bring her back and get her a bath again something she needs to get used to

This is my dogs 2nd cut (Maltese Apollo) and after being turned away from pet smart for being a biting baby this place saved the day!!! She is very professional. He was there from 12-5 , although I was worried. She was taking her time and getting the job done. He looks amazing ! I will be going back

I decided to give this place a chance based off the reviews, I wish I didn’t. I left quickly because I was in a rush and wasn’t able to throughly examine the quality, my mistake. Whoever is grooming the dogs is not professionally trained. I made an appointment for my dogs, 1 haircut, and 2 baths. When I came in I spoke with the owner about EXACTLY what I wanted I told her I wanted a 4 blade all over, blend the head, with a light trim on the tail. I’ve been grooming my dog for years (trained by a professional) but recently had to stop due to nerve condition in my hands. Therefore I know exactly what I’m looking for, what I asked for was not what I received. I was told all of my dogs behaved great, however my dog that got the hair cut was choppy, uneven and a full inch longer than what I requested. Her feet were not properly trimmed and had multiple spots that weren’t even trimmed, no standard sanitary trim was done on belly or butt. My dogs head was cage dried leaving it curly and uneven, it looks like my dog was just skimmed of a few flyaways, given a bath and put in cage dryer, she sadly looks awful. My 1 dog that got a bath was fine but she’s a short coat chihuahua so it’s hard to mess that up. My other dog who received a bath was not given a blow out after I intentionally said he likes to be blown out and needs it to help with his minor shedding. If you’re looking for a place to bathe your short single coated dog this place will work for you, however if you’re wanting a professional cut definitely avoid this place.

We gave this place a shot based on reviews but our experience was nothing like what we read. The appointment time was not met/honored...1 hour and 15 mins. after is when they finally began working on our dog. The place reaks of cigarette smoke since they smoke inside the building. We were told they give a "teacher discount" but that didn't get applied because they added a "difficult dog" fee that added that money directly back. Their idea of a difficult dog was one that was nervous and scared of their extremely loud blow dryer. Our dog is stubborn for sure (standard poodle) but not so difficult that he can't be groomed. Then we showed them a picture of the cut we wanted and we got a cut that barely took anything off and has us spending more money to get our pooch groomed somewhere else. Oh, did I mention that we were there for 3.5 hours??? Insane when we had an appointment that was not honored. Completely unsatisfied with this place and hope others get better results if they choose to go.

Very nice lady owner. The kennel is well established. I was talking to the owner and her family has owned this kennel for like almost 50 years. My dog is currently there because I’m supposed to travel . And I really appreciate her care for Biscuit. When I pick up Biscuit and years ago picked up my daughter’s little Chihuahua Cindy (who passed away from old age ) from the kennel they looked happy and taking care of. I use this Kennel and another Kennel in Colonial Heights and I highly recommend them both. The kennel is affordable & service is professional they will take good care of your four-legged friend . Conrecode Kennel meets the Topflight Seal of Customer approval .

My pit has been here about 4 times and she’s almost a year old. She loves it here and seems like she never wants to leave. They are very accommodating and professional. I also love it because they take Pits and i know a lot of places don’t.

Perfect for the last minute drop off. People are Nice, professional and accommodating. Had last minute obligations and had to make sure my boys were ok. Perfect solution.

Taking my dogs to a kennel during a busy holiday weekend was a last minute decision. I called several other kennels in the area, but everyone was booked. Conrecode Kennel had availability—now I see why no one booked with them 😣 June 30th—I took my dogs to a scheduled “Meet and Greet“ with the owner (that I suggested) She seemed to be both nice & caring when we got there. During the meet & greet, I mentioned to her that I had never taken my dogs to a kennel and the first thing she said was, “that’s okay, they‘re small, they can stay in the house with me…just bring their cage when you come along with their food and your payment!” —I said okay and this made me happy to know that my girls would be well taken care of in a family environment. July 1st—I had my boyfriend drop the girls off because I had to work—I packed their bowls, snacks, FOOD, cage and leashes because the owner mentioned that she wanted to walk them when it was time to potty instead of letting them roam freely. I was cool with that. After dropping the dogs off my boyfriend called me and he said, “I don’t feel comfortable with them being there” at that point I knew this was a bad idea 😔 Fast forward to pick-up… July 5th- I called prior to picking the girls up. When I arrived, I rang the door bell and waited. The lady soon came out and said, “Are you here to pick up Charlie?” I said no out loud, but in my mind I was thinking…”wait…so you don’t know who I am and which dogs belong to me?!?!“ I walked around the house and the cage that I had my boyfriend drop off was outside with a bucket of ice was on top and the owner says, “I’m not going to lie to you, but I put them in the kennel for a few hours!” I just said okay. She walked around to the kennel to get my dogs. When they came out, their harnesses were not on them properly and they smelled of tobacco! I put them in the car and left. But before leaving the owner mentioned to me how spoiled my dogs were and how one of them whined a lot. When I arrived home, I looked in their bag and the bag with food that I had packed for them was still full. Had they eaten? What had she been feeding them if they had been eating? My dogs looked so sad when they got home, their tails were not wagging, they were stinky, and hungry. I fed and bathed them and let them out to potty. THEY HAD DIARRHEA!!! This lets me know that she hadn’t been feeding them their food! I DO NOT RECOMMEND CONRECODE KENNEL IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOGS—♥️♥️ DO NOT TAKE THEM TO CONRECODE KENNEL! ~signed, an unhappy dog mom

This is a home residence so I thought our dog would be in good hands. When we looked at the kennel it was smelly and dirty. There were 6 poodles in one pin and supposedly they were "show dogs" There was dog poop everywhere in the pin that held the 6 poodles. I was not impressed, but figured what the heck why not try it out. The owner was very accommodating and allowed us to leave our dog as long as needed and allowed us to return late. Our dog was not fed his evening meal, nor do I think he had much water because he drank 2 bowls once we got him home. She only charged $20 to leave him there 27 hours. I will not bring him back there, nor would I recommend others to Kennel their dogs with Conrecode Kennel.
