Julia was an amazing house sitter and dog sitter! She sent me photos and updates every day, she took my pup Jordan on long walks and gave him the love, care, and patience that he needs. She was so easy and comfortable to communicate with and she left the house so clean and tidy for when I came back. Definitely recommend her!!!
Due to a family emergency, I had to leave the country earlier than I had planned, and needed a sitter to fill in the gap between my departure and another sitter. Michele responded within minutes of my posting the sit, and then we spoke and confirmed the sit within hours. Her husband, Israel, was coming from Mexico to France, while she and her kids were to come from Sweden. When Michele’s travel plans changed, and she wouldn’t be able to come with her children, she assured me that Israel would still come to look after the house and dogs. To do this, for a stay of only five days, he flew to Paris, and then to the south of France, where he rented a car and drove the rest of the way to my place. As I was already traveling, the previous sitters filled him in on the various things that needed to be tended to: caring for two dogs, tending to hens, watering 90 young olive trees daily, as well as other things. The place is big and it took me 3-4 weeks when I first moved in to figure out where things were and what to do. Israel mastered everything upon his arrival, sent me daily updates with photos of my two VERY happy dogs. In addition to all the upkeep, he managed to hike with the dogs daily. I arrived home to find everything perfectly maintained, two fit and and Israel’s guest house cleaner than it was when he arrived. Immaculate. I cannot even express my gratitude for to both Michele and Israel for such a sacrifice and commitment to do that for me. It was a very difficult time, as I was dealing with the loss of both my son and my mother. I did not worry for one second while my dogs and home were in Israel’s hands. Thank you both, so, so much. You’re welcome back anytime, with the entire family, even just for a visit, maybe just a well-deserved holiday, with no dog- or house- sitting!
David and Elynn were fabulous pet sitters and house sitters. Our dog and rabbit were well-taken care of, the house was left even cleaner than when they arrived! I would highly recommend David and Elynn, and would happily have them again! David and Elynn took excellent care of our dog Cosmo and our rabbit Oreo. They made sure they were happy, well-fed, and got exercise and fresh air! We were very happy to receive several photos of our furry friends while we were away. They took amazing care of the house and yard, and were very open with communication. If they were uncertain of anything or had a question, they were very open about reaching out! David and Ellyn were wonderful houseguests, who left the house even cleaner than they found it! I would highly recommend David and Elynn and their two adorable children. They are wonderful, respectful people who definitely love animals and will give your pets and home lots of care! Thank you!! :)
Michele is a great pet sitter for my dog Charley! She keeps me informed and sends pictures. I came home to an immaculate home! I hope she will come back again.
Marlen was such a blessing. We had another sitter cancel just a week before our vacation date so I was so relieved that she was able to step in at such short notice. She came to meet our pups a few days in advance so they would recognize her. While we were away, Marlen sent picture updates and made sure the dogs were cared for. So glad to have found someone like her to help us out.
We could not have asked for a better house sitter than Myria! She is kind, personable, organized, responsible communicative and more...She read all of our instructions before arriving and asked lots of questions about our pups to make sure she understood their personalities and schedules. You can tell she truly is a dog lover. Myria provided regular updates and we felt 100% confident leaving our dogs in her care. We came back to a home that was spotless - you could hardly tell she had been here. I'd highly recommend Myria as your next zeewoi!
Jerry gets a five star in every area! We actually connected on the phone before he ever arrived but once he got here, it was like we known each other forever! He was very thorough and how he was going to take care of the dogs and the house!! very friendly with the dogs, and they immediately connected with him!! dogs know when they are💖💖 he arrived early so he could become familiar with Circus and tinker and the house and we had a meal together and quickly became best friends! He sent pictures while we were away and updates. Every day. He was gone by the time we came back, but it honestly looked like he had never been in the house. Everything was perfect just like we left it.❗️❗️❗️ so if you’re looking for a Pet Sitter that is reliable in every way, and you know for sure is going to take good care of your pets this man is the one you want to have come to your home❗️❗️ you won’t be disappointed and I can promise you that💖🎉
David was a great sitter for our dog! It was just him for this sit. He was very communicative before, during, and after the stay. He visited the apartment before we left to meet our dog and talk with us, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and confident that our dog was in good hands. He sent us updates throughout the stay, and left the apartment in great condition. While our dog is on the older side, he can still be a handful at times, but David didn’t seem to have any problems. Would definitely recommend David for any future sit!
Wendy sat for us on three occasions this Summer and I can’t say enough good things about her. The dogs were well taken care of and she was, organized, tidy, and responsible. It’s great to find a house/pet sitter that you can rest easy knowing everything is taken care of. We are hoping she will want to spend more time in the PNW!
Amara was a WONDERFUL sitter for our home and our dogs for the weekend. We were so comfortable with her being in our home, and she provided regular updates and photos of our babies. The house was clean upon arrival home - we would have no hesitation recommending her to others and hope she would consider coming back to spend more time with our dogs!

Susie's is absolutely amazing! Our Kono loves it there! Everyone there is so sweet and take such wonderful care of our little princess. Drop off and pick up is easy and smooth. She was excited to see us but didn't want to leave either! I highly recommend Susie's I'd give a 10 if I could!
I'd never boarded my dogs before. I always had house sitters. I tried Susie's and I was pleased. My dogs seemed happy when I picked them up and didn't smell. When I took them back the second time they seemed happy to be there, so obviously no hard feelings from before. The folks were easy to work with and the check in, check out process was smooth. Nice job folks!
I was helping friends while they were on vacation in Greece. I had to pick up and drop off Barnum, their dog, several times. The staff that work here are so wonderful. You can tell right away how much they love all the pets. I would definitely recommend Susie's and if I had a pet I would not take it anywhere else. You guys are the best.
If I were a dog, I would want my owner to board me at Susie's. Joking aside, I've used Susie's to look after my 3 dogs many times over the last couple of years and have had a consistently excellent experience. I have no doubt how much the people who work there love animals, it shows, and it gives me total peace of mind leaving my boys with them. Additionally, they are wonderful people, kind and helpful. I cannot recommend them enough.
This is the only boarding facility where I wasn’t worried about the well-being of my 3 pups while I was away. Adorable and thought setup. Friendly owner. Extra clean facility. Fair prices. The only kennel we’ll use in Vancouver. Make sure you book early- they are popular and space is hard to come by!
Greatest place and group of folks in the world. If you want a great safe place for your pet to stay at look no further! Absolutely love this place. Suzie, Bobby and Sarah are awesome!
Love Susie's. The dogs are always pleased to go and they seem to take good care of them.
This place deserves all of the awards it can get. And so do the people. I’ll never take my dog anywhere else. Susie’s Country Inn is amazing.
I NEVER leave my dog! However I had to board him for several days & I'm so fortunate a friend told me about Susie's. Welcoming, clean, wonderful staff, excellent care of my baby and reasonably priced. Years ago I had a bad experience leaving my dog so I am very critical of any facility. Susie's ticks all the boxes. You can safely entrust your fur baby to their care.
Susie is a fantastic trainer and she runs an excellent, clean facility that cares about you and your dogs. We have had to leave town fairly frequently and Susie has been dependable, her staff is friendly, the drop-off process is thoughtful and clear. I can't say enough about the facility itself; it has a great vibe. It's welcoming and professional. I know my pets are safe. We feel so very fortunate to have Susie and her team to care for our pets when life takes us out of town. Would recommend, thank you.
Man's Best Friend was recommend to us because we were struggling with our 18 month old English Mastiff who is a 120lb puppy, nicknamed Monster. I was reluctant due to the cost and missing our pup for the 30 days during the training. After picking him up I realized that we should have done it sooner. Shannon is great to work with, and she really loves what she does. Her communication through his training was excellent. I highly recommend.
Man's Best Friend is an amazing organization. I would recommend them to anyone with a dog, even if they are already well behaved. The way my dog Rowan has calmed down with the training is wonderful, I get to watch him make decisions and I love seeing his brain calm down. Rowan was already my emotional support dog, but we needed him to be very well trained for when my husband comes home with his service dog. The staff kept us up to date several times a week with pictures on their Facebook page, and Shannon also called to update us. With the training package we chose, Man's Best Friend provided us with their Top Dog Academy online videos. We have lifetime access and we watched them several times at our own pace, we also watched the videos with our kids so they were fully aware of the expectations and new rules with our dog. The 3 hour training session with Shannon was so informative, Shannon clearly loves dogs and is very passionate about her business. She was patient with me, explained things clearly, answered all my questions, and really made me feel like I CAN be the leader my Rowan needs me to be. I know in my heart that Man's Best Friend will be there for us for the life of my Rowan. This training is worth every single penny and I am so grateful that I can trust myself and my Rowan to be a part of every aspect of my life. Thank you Shannon & everyone at Man's Best Friend! We LOVE you!
I can say, first hand, that Shannon and her amazing staff are well equipped, ready, willing, and confident, when it comes to training your dog. I spent 5 weeks in Service Dog Handler School, taught by the non-profit portion of the business North West Battle Buddies. And, in that time I was fortunate enough to "see how the sausage was made." They answered all of the teams questions knowledgeably, confidently, quickly, and consistently, which told me they knew what they were doing. I know this is just some random review... from some random veteran, but they will impress you. I've seen it. And, they're really good. The best, actually. Can't praise them enough. Team 248
My family and I fostered one of the Northwest Battle Buddy puppies for year. We found the entire process to be rewarding, and we are so proud to see the dog that we love move onto his big, exciting purpose in life. Over the year we had some training on-site at Man’s Best Friend and we now have been able to train our dog to be a more respectful, kind, and calmer part of the family. We boarded the foster puppy several times and he was always so excited when getting dropped off and he was returned extra clean and smelling good. Thank you for the great experience and all that Man’s Best Friend and Northwest Battle Buddies do!!!
We had two dogs trained there. One is was an anxious mess and causing the other one anxiety. By having them both trained we are on the same page and we now know what we do as humans to enhance or encourage the anxiety in our little chihuahua. Shannon has been the best thing to happen to them a bad us. We now understand how to communicate with our dogs effectively and support them there way a pack works support them.
Our "Monster" (as we affectionately call him) went to Shannon with some bad behaviors and the ability to use his size, being a mastiff, to get his way. After a month of being at Man's Best Friend, he came back an entirely different dog. Shannon is very hands on, explains how to continue the training very clearly and intently, and she clearly loves her job and her furry cients. Had I known how amazing his transformation was going to be, I would never have waited or hesitated to get him into professional training. The added bonus of being able to return for a lifetime for a private lesson/refresher if we mess up any of her hard work gives me some peace of mind and further speaks to the level of confidence and dedication they have to your pups needs.
We brought our 4.5-month old Belgian Malinois to Shannon at Man’s Best Friend. He started the program as a little monster and came back to us as a fantastic beast!! Definitely recommended if you’re looking for your pup to actually listen to you… and especially to respect you!! It’s a thing… After his training we are able to be a very happy family!!
We frequently board our dogs at MBF and always feel like they're getting the best care. The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and quick to answer any questions you may have. They ensure the pets are vaccinated prior to boarding and always ask about whether your dog is ok with a kennel buddy. Our dogs come home healthy, happy, and tired.
Taking our Golden Retreiver Killian to Shannon for training at Mans Best Friend was the best decision we could have made. Killian was only three months old before all the regular training techniques we knew had failed. We had successfully trained a lab and two golden retrievers using Guide Dog for the Blind's method (Collar corrections and positive praise). By two and a half months old he grew aggressive with corrections and defiant and would snap and nip (leaving bruises and scratches) and tear clothing. When that failed we tried treats and that only created a dependency on treats and then he got aggressive when he didn't get a treat when he believed he should. His play time was more like parkour through the house which never stopped unless he was in his kennel. He had a hard time relaxing and just chewing on a toy. Outside he ate everything to the point he couldn't be off leash. Recall was also impossible. At four months, we faced re-homing Killian or finding a solution because his behavior was defiant and we didn't have a way to correct any of it. (We swore Killian thought he was a fight dog.) I couldn't even pet or hug him without him biting me. In steps Shannon. Thank the lord because she saved us all. We left Killian with Shannon for a month at boarding school when he was four and a half months old. We were nervous to leave him given we werent sure any training would work, and Killian has extreme food allergies to top off the stress level. But they did great with him. They stuck to his strict diet and trained him without need of treats. He even came back healthier than when we handed him off because we'd only just gotten his dietary needs pinpointed and his fur was still growing back. So yeah, I was blowing up all the pictures they posted on FB while he was there to see how well he was doing health wise. Haha. Day one home with Killian after training was amazing and we are now three weeks in and its all going great. Here are the changes: Killian no longer bites, tears our clothes, eats our furniture, jumps on the furniture, takes things that arent his, jumps on me, or eats the outdoors Killian will walk on leash without pulling, lay down for more than an hour on command and stay, chew on his toys like a normal well behaved dog, lay on his dog bed, play outside with toys (instead of eating grass, leaves, sticks ect.), come on recall, let us hug and love him and he also now knows how to JUST BE. Shannon provided training videos for us to watch before we picked up Killian (which we will always have access to) and she did a 3 hour training session with us when we picked him up. The combination together makes her training program highly effective because it taught us a new way of working with a busy minded dog. Shannon gave us a new way of life that is calm and loving with Killian that wasn't possible through other normal training methods. We are sticking to the training she provided and its working out great. She even did a follow-up session, which was extremely helpful because we could get guidance on how we can do better with our dog handling skills. If you even debate sending your pup to Man's Best Friend for training, I advice stop wasting time and make the call.
Shanon and Man’s Best Friend are a wonderful organization. They have trained two of our dogs now and both are better for it. Our younger dog a was a real handful and we were worried about how it would effect our older dog and overall family dynamics. After training, he has kept his silly personality but is now a respectful part of the family. I would recommend this to anyone looking for training for their dog. I love the Christian values of this organization and how much education you and your dog both receive by the end of it. We now know how to effectively communicate with our dogs and have a lifetime access to knowledge and help from Shanon should we need it. Man’s Best Friend was exactly what we needed.
Kitty Cat Corner Hotel provided a nice room for my kitties to stay, complete with ramps, a hiding place, a bed, soft blankets, and a cat litter box. It was the first time my kitties had been away from me, so it was comforting knowing they were being cared for. When I arrived to take them home, they appeared extra soft and fluffy. I recommend KCCH. Wonderful!
The Kitty Cat Corner Hotel is incredible! If you’re looking for a place to board your cat, look no further. This was Luna’s first time away from us, and the staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make her stay comfortable and fun! Luna is an active cat, but she did great! The facility is located inside All Natural Pet Supply (so you can grab a gift for your pet when you return for them 😁). Can’t say enough good things about the staff and this place. It’s brand new, so that’s why there are few reviews.
Windy and her team helped us with our puppy for the entire first year. They started off walking her twice a day and then to once a day. They update you with heart melting pictures so I could show them off to my colleagues. They carried over all the leash training and immediately notified us if anything seemed odd. We couldn't have done the first year without them. And our puppy loved every minute of it. I definitely recommend their services.
I was very anxious about going on a planned vacation due to my 18 year old cat who is on many meds when my neighbor recommended Windy. Windy was so calm and asked just the right questions when I met her that I felt a huge sense of relief. During my vacation she regularly sent updates and photos and did such a great job with both of my cats. I highly recommend her company!
We recently moved from the Portland area and are sincerely going to miss BellyRub Pet Services! Our nearly two years of experience with Windy has been nothing short of perfect. Traveling can be stressful, but knowing our cat was in such good care made things easier on us all (including our cat). At the start of receiving BellyRub Pet Services, Windy arranged a meet and greet with us and our cat. This was a fantastic way to become acquainted with Windy and our first indication of her professionalism as well as experience. Windy was always very flexible and willing to provide care on extremely short notice. She always sent us updates and pictures of our cat for each visit, which was great peace of mind. We would highly recommend BellyRub for all pet services—the care is fantastic and Windy's cooperation is equally as great. Windy, you will be hard to replace! Thanks for providing such wonderful care!
Windy is extremely professional and reliable, and has assisted our two dogs with walks for several years now. She has adapted to our changing circumstances, and welcomes new challenges with understanding and kindness. When my daughter was born and we unexpectedly had to stay in the NICU for several days, Windy stepped up to make sure our two dogs at home got their walks and food (and of course belly rubs) while we were away, which allowed us to focus on our new arrival until she got the care she needed. We trust her completely and would recommend her to anyone. Thanks Windy!
I've been a client of BellyRub for nearly two years, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for the kindest, most reliable, friendly, and affordable pet care. I have a shy and very sweet cat that needed sitting whenever I traveled, both for weekends away, as well as up to two week trips, and BellyRubs always provided the best care. The owner, who provided my cat care each and every time, understood that my cat needed time to adjust before she would be comfortable around her, and did so with great patience. Due to her careful efforts, my cat grew to enjoy her company, and was always well adjusted and healthy when I returned from trips. She even noticed when my cat had an unexpected health issue while I was away, and worked with me early and late in the day to provide her with care that resolved the issue almost immediately. I received regular photo text message updates on how my cat was doing at home while I traveled, and I always came home to a friendly note about my cat's time while I was away. She went above and beyond to help me in a pinch, and was always helpful and courteous. She has excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of cat behavior and needs. I could not recommend BellyRub Pet Services higher, and am very grateful for the care they provide.
BellyRub is wonderful!!! Windy was more than helpful when we moved to Portland. Our sitter was very friendly and very informative. She sent pictures every visit. I felt very good about the service they were providing. My cat handled our leaving for vacation (right after we moved) wonderfully because our sitter treated him so well. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Windy at BellyRub has been tending to my dogs since September 2013, when I brought home an eight week old Lab puppy brother to my three year old Lab. She has been great to work with, following direction well, and being flexible when needed. If I need an extra visit or decide to cancel because I'm working from home, I always receive a "no problem!". She goes above and beyond, noticing when something is off and asking me about it then fixing it if needed. She also checks on my ducks and chickens to make sure they have access to water if it's cold or hot outside. I know my dogs really enjoy having her!
Windy with Bellyrub Pet Services is the best, hands down. I have a 150 lb puppy that can be a handful, and he means the world to me. Windy is the only other person I trust to care for him. She is pleasant, flexible, dependable, and highly professional. No matter what my pup throws at Windy, she knows exactly what to do and always keeps me in the loop. I only wish everybody could be as good at what they do as Windy is. She is a true professional.
Windy took care of my girls quite a bit over the past couple years, and they loved her. Be it when I was out of town for several days straight, or stopping in a couple days a week when I had long days at work, I loved knowing that my girls would be well taken care of and that they looked forward to their visits with Windy. I am sad that we recently moved to deep SE Portland and are out of the BellyRub service area, but you can bet that if we move back to North Portland Windy will be one of the first people I contact!
When I adopted two small terriers from a rescue organization I knew I was going to need someone special to help me with their care. After contacts with several pet services in the area I chose to go with Windy at BellyRub because of her professionalism. She immediately understood the issues associated with rescue animals and displayed patience and kindness towards Wilbur and Daisy. She also was able to set limits on their impulsive and somewhat unpredictable behaviors, helping them to be come more confident and well behaved. In addition when Windy comes to the house she always checks things over such as their water and toys, as well as a time or two has cleaned up after an accident. I have grown to depend on BellyRub to take excellent care of my pups and they show nothing but love and excitement when she comes to the house. I highly recommend you check out BellyRub Pet Services, you won't be disappointed.
I LOVE this place! The little welcoming area doesn't even begin to allow you to understand just how great it is. I took my 1year old Frenchie who has never been in this type of environment. For $5 i get an update each day to see how she was playing, anything information important to know and the report card is just such an incredible offer. The humans who work there are so attentive and supportive to the pups. They are very kind when you engage with them in any form. The prices are beyond reasonable. The place is so much bigger for the dogs and has so many little offerings you can purchase. The boarding is free roam no crates. My girl comes home so pooped out and happy that she has a place to play and board if I go out of town. I have zero complaints and highly recommend!!
We've been taking our 9 month old puppy here for a few months now and we love it (and so does he!). The staff is super friendly and very clearly care a LOT about the dogs that go to them. I love love love the daily Instagram posts, I get more excited to see what he's doing at daycare than I think I ever was about my human kids at daycare (kidding. Or am I?). Webster gets SO excited when we get there, and I can tell that he loves it and loves the humans there. Also their hours are so convenient, and love that they offer kennel-free boarding.
Wooftastic is one of the best things to happen to us since moving here. Our girl has a lot of energy and this place has made a home for her there when she needs time to run around and be a crazy little lady. We always feel that she is so well taken care of, we love their no crate boarding, which is what she was used to. Everyone is kind and attentive and we would recommend this place to anyone who has a doggy that needs daycare or boarding.
Fern loves going to daycare. The way they run scheduling, pick up and drop off, and payment makes everything super smooth. Staff is very friendly and always makes sure to ask if he has food with him and reminds me to grab his container at the end of the day. Also love the convenient hours 6am-9pm, 7 days a week as well as a good price point. They post all of the dogs everyday so you can check in on your pup they also offer extras like treats and walks and do fun activities like bubbles, aromatherapy, nose balm. Overall great place definitely would recommend.
We've been lucky enough to send our precious dog Georgia to Wooftastic for the past 8 months. They've always been so nice and welcoming when we pick and drop her off. They have great hours and rates. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in search of a good doggy daycare.
I am so happy and grateful to have found Woof-Tastic for my pup, Maya! I have been SO impressed with the kindness of the staff, their communication, and care. The environment is bright and fun and just matches what you read and see online. And I can tell Maya, although still a little timid and shy, is warming up, feeling safe, and having a great time! I feel so relieved and can not reccomend Woof-Tastic enough! <3
My sweet Ruby is always so excited to go to daycare. The team there takes such good care of her and I never have to worry while I’m away. She comes home happy & exhausted. 10/10 would recommend!
I’ll let my dog’s smile speak for itself. I’m so happy we found Woof-Tastic! The flexible booking system is easy, and I feel my dog is safe with them which is important. My girl got so excited to go on her 2nd day that she couldn’t wait to say goodbye and go see her friends. The rates are more than fair, which is a big plus. 10/10.
We absolutely LOVE Wooftastic Playhouse! Our dog has so much fun there. He is safe and well loved. They post pictures of all the dogs to their Instagram each day, which I love! There's no other place that I've felt as confident boarding my pup. I highly recommend them!!!
This has been the best daycare for tater. He loves it. No hesitation to go in. He plays and runs with the others. Very happy compared to the last daycare he was at. Thank u
Denise is excellent with our pup, Kali. Kali is not great with strangers or new experiences, but Denise has done an excellent job exposing her to new activities, dogs, cats, and people in a controlled and safe manner. We recently had to board Kali here for over two weeks while we prepared our move, and got frequent photo and video updates which reassured us that we made the right choice in trusting Denise. I would highly recommend The Canine Junkie for boarding or daycare needs to anyone with a sub-20lbs pup!
Bo loves to spend the day running with her (similarly sized) pack at TCJ - Denise keeps them each and all safe. There are enrichment activities, long walks, rest times and the constant presence of pals to keep Bo interested and challenged. We all (Bo and her people) really respect and care for Denise - she takes her business seriously and is focused on the dogs all day. We also just really like Denise, she’s great! Both of us have mixed feelings about letting people know how great this day care is… don’t want them to get too, too busy!!!!
We are so thankful for Denise! She has taken care of our puppy for 8 days. Our puppy goes there weekly for a day of day care. Denise is very knowledgeable about dogs and has helped us out. While we are gone she sends us photos and videos. We are looking forward to her help in the future. She gives us good information about caring for our puppy, too.
Denise has been such a good caregiver for our 1year old Maltese, Ladybug. We are very grateful to have found her and we recommend her highly.
Our two Lhasas had a wonderful time with Denise. She gave them a lots of love and attention. They loved being outdoors and were so tired coming home after playing all day! It was a relief not to worry about them while we were gone on vacation. We are all looking forward to next time!
Denise is truly a blessing for my dog and my family. We have been able to count on her dozens of times to provide a second home for our dog and sleep well at night knowing that she is well taken care of. Every day after when we pick her up, we can sincerely tell that our dog has had a blast of a time. Denise will send videos to you as well of your dog having fun which is amazing. I highly recommend any dog owner to send their dog to Denise!
Denise is extremely reliable and professional with tons of experience. She is creative in providing mental "enrichment" on top of having enough space for everyone to run around and romp - thus creating a well rounded experience for the pups in her care. Her outstanding attention to everyone's comfort level and ability to quickly interpret canine body language allow even shy dogs to blossom!
Bodhi loves her visits at The Canine Junkie. Denise gives special care and attention to each dog and I can tell she really loves what she does.
Denise is great with Sam. I had to drop him off for the day. I know is day is full of caring and great enrichment that I am not able to do. I know when I pick him up his day has been filled with love. Denise always answers questions I have or little pointers to make Sam's life a little easier. You are the best Denise!
We've been bringing our pup here for the past two years. It's a perfect vacation for our pup when we go on vacations of our own. Piper gets excited every time she realizes where we're going. I can't imagine using anyone else to care for our fur baby.
This was my first boarding experience ever and I was thoroughly impressed with everything. Jeff was an absolute delight to talk to and work with and the facilities are absolutely beautiful! I was very nervous about boarding my baby and Jeff was so kind and helped me feel at ease with the whole process. He even sent me update pics! I could tell she was really enjoying her stay and even though she was definitely excited to see me when I picked her up I could tell she had such a good time here! Will 100% come back if I need to board her again!
I was really grateful that they were able to book me for Thanksgiving of all times within just a couple of (normally, you have to do that a couple months in advance at least), And the staff was extremely kind. The prices were reasonable, and they appeared to do everything they could to make sure that both my cat and dog were happy and comfortable the whole time. Neither my cat nor my dog were stressed out when I picked them up and brought them home, and that’s always a concern when you leave your pets anywhere, really. So thank you for everything this past week!
Waldorf Kennels really helped us out of a bind - a last minute Thanksgiving boarding for our two pups. Jeff, the owner, was great! Our dogs came home happy and I know that they were well taken care of!
My pup Kira has been going to Waldorf kennels for about 3 weeks and before her visits there, she could not walk on a leash. Not only Is she walking on a leash without trying to get away, she’s safely walking with my daughter. I cannot recommend Waldorf kennels enough. Jeff the owner really cares about each pup and takes his time to make you and yours fur baby feel loved and taken care of.
We cannot say thank you enough to Jeff and the Waldorf Kennels. We have a German Shepherd that is 1.5 yrs old (unaltered) and a Rhodesian Ridgeback who is 6 yrs old (altered). They spent 6 nights being boarded, with extra play time each day, and a 1:1 training session with Jeff for our Shepherd. When we returned from vacation, they were walking better on leash, and you could tell how well taken care of they were. Happy and tired. We had 1 additonal training session all together today as well. Jeff's obedience training, knowledge, and advice was above and beyond, anything we've been given before. Our dogs were so receptive to him, especially the Shepherd. Jeff is calm, confident, and is in control. We're looking forward to continuing the training he's given and immediately saw a huge improvement. Not to mention how beautiful the property is! Jeff, Ian and I are so grateful to have met you, and thank you tremendously for all of your help!
Our pups first experience staying at a boarding facility and we felt instantly at ease when we toured the place. I knew she would be well taken care of. I was so happy to receive updates and pictures from them, during her stay! She was a happy dog when we returned and I think she enjoyed her time on the agility course too. Thank you, Waldorf Kennels!
The only place we’ll board our dogs going forward! My wife and I went on an extended vacation and had to board our three dogs. Jeff and his staff set our minds at ease with their level of care for them. Jeff even went out of his way to send us updates!
Jeff and team are amazing! The only place in town we trust to take care of our German Shepherds. Most Kennels simply aren’t confident handling big dogs, but Jeff goes above and beyond to make sure our dogs are taken care of when they stay here. Highly recommend to anyone in the greater Vancouver area!
Having worked at Waldorf Kennels many years ago, I knew the services would be top notch. However, I also wasn't a dog owner back then. So nothing could have prepared me for how overprotective and nervous I was leaving our two pups for 10 days with expected inclement weather! Jeff put me and my husband at ease with a get-to-know-you visit a week before we left. He showed me the improvements that were made since I had last worked there, but more importantly, he took the time to walk both of my dogs individually and asked all of the questions that made me feel like he really would give them the best care. While we were away he sent photos of them in the fenced play area (I've included one with my review) and when we picked them up on the iciest day of the year, they were warm, happy, and healthy. We added baths for the day of pick-up, and the kennel staff made sure their coats were completely dry after bathing them since it was so chilly outside. Highly recommend this add-on! Quick profile: My dogs are Dogo Argentinos, the male is 100 lbs and the female is not far behind. They were just fixed at 19 months old and boarded at 20 months! They are highly active have a high prey drive, and they are incredibly loyal and protective. Some people are not used to working dogs with these traits, so they can be intimidated, which leads to our dogs getting labeled as aggressive. Jeff is familiar with all breeds and has a lot of experience with high performing training practices, so our dogs did very well during their stay. Overall, I highly recommend Waldorf Kennels and know you won't be disappointed choosing them the next time you need boarding.
My husband and I boarded our two dogs here for a week and will definitely be coming back! Jeff took great care of our babies, sending us pictures periodically to show us they were doing great thus giving us peace of mind 😊 …
Mother Pupper has helped our socially anxious puppy transform into a confident dog. He loves it there. I really recommend any service they have but especially the enrichment. It set him up to be ready for daycare. He also went to their puppy social class on Saturdays, he learned so much and it was adorable. Kind, smart, professional people. I can’t recommend more.
Our rescue dog, Elliot started at Mother Pupper several weeks ago. We started with the Enrichment group and she gained more confidence and better recall. She was able to join the regular daycare and enjoys her time there tremendously, playing with friends, trying new activities and learning to settle with the group. I also enjoy seeing highlights from the day on their Instagram page! The trainers are all very skilled at understanding the needs of the dogs and how to challenge them to learn new things. We are very pleased with having our dog at Mother Pupper!
I constantly brag about this place to everyone I know! I can’t believe such a fantastic daycare exists here in Portland. The team is so unbelievably accommodating and caring with my pup Figgie. She has gained so much from attending this daycare where they focus on training and appropriate play. I get nervous leaving my pup at other facilities where it can be a free for all with the pups - I know they watch over my dog here and they truly care! Also, shout out to Allison who has been incredible! Mother Pupper is truly the best and worth the price for the piece of mind I get while at work! I also love the daily updates they post on instagram so I can see what my pup is up to throughout the day. They also do a monthly photo of your pup in a different outfit each time… it’s amazing!!
They rejected my dog because they don't have any days with non-anxious dogs After my screening they told me my very happy and playful dog that has passed every screening in her life (6 screenings, 4 in Portland, 2 in Denver.) who had fun and behaved well wasn't welcome because they're "very selective"and the dogs they're currently seeing would "get offended" so I should go somewhere else. Even though they had nothing negative to say about my dog. In fact they only had positive things to say about her. The whole interaction was very "it's not you, it's me" If you're so selective how did you end up with anxious dogs every day of the week? If you're specifically rehabilitating anxious dogs shouldn't you advertise that somewhere? If you were full, why did you accept my screening request? If she was the problem, why did you have no incidents to report to me? I'm left having to accept that this business had some sort of personal problem with me since the logic doesn't work out any other way I slice it. Edit: Thank you for your reply but I will be leaving my review up. Every other facility has seen the same behavior and acknowledged that that is not aggression, but her communicating her boundaries, especially in a brand new group that she has never met before. That behavior, especially decreasing within such a short interaction, shows that she is stating her boundary initially and as she grows more comfortable and communicates with the other dogs in the group, she is more friendly and playful and comes out of her shell. She has spent multiple years at a local daycare that sadly had to close, and we actually asked the owner and trainer about this behavior specifically and she indicated that not all dogs are the same and many want a bit of a boundary at first and it was completely normal and expected. She gave us multiple materials verifying that information as well. Considering that, you can imagine our frustration at suddenly being told that this is a problem especially by a facility that prides itself on training and enrichment. Rhea actually stopped this behavior entirely after the first or second visit to every daycare she’s attended, because she knew the environment and dogs there and never caused or had any tiffs. We did look at the Enrichment Group initially and it’s about double the cost for half the amount of time at on a day of the week that we could not commit to consistently (which your philosophy online said wasn’t great to switch so much), which is why we opted for daycare screening. We understand that you are looking out for the dogs already currently in your care but hope that in the future, you are able to consider a larger diversity of personalities in your group.
The sheer joy my dog, Pente, has when running from the entrance to the back says it all. She absolutely loves her days at Mother Pupper and I love checking their great social media posts to see what she is up to. We started in the puppy play group, did a few enrichment classes, and now go to weekly day care. All great experiences. She will soon attend the owner’s boarding option on their property in Washington, only available for MP attendees. I credit the amazing handlers at MP for working so diligently with Pente on her social skills - including both dog-dog interactions and appropriate settling around other dogs. I appreciate the small play groups and nap times, ensuring her experience is not an over stimulated free for all. My criticism, which does not negate my 5 star review, is around scheduling and drop off/pick up times. While their stable play groups are part of what makes MP special, I have very unstable and unpredictable scheduling as a medical professional. Having flexibility on attendance days and earlier drop off/pick up availability, would make my life easier and allow her to attend more frequently. Regardless, Pente and I love MP so much we make it work!
We love the Mother Pupper team! We started in their puppy social and enrichment classes, then eventually graduated to weekly day care. Our puppy is high energy and was nervous around other dogs in the early days, but loved seeing her social skills and recall out of play develop after just a few weeks.
Top recommendation, by far! We started taking our labradoodle to puppy classes as soon as she was old enough & were delighted with the care the staff take with all of the pups. She then graduated to Saturday enrichment class and now attends that & daycare twice a week..and loves it all!! They have helped her gain confidence & she’s learned to play well with dogs large & small. She’s learned to self-regulate (like take breaks when she needs it) and ..has a newfound love of puzzles. The staff communication is exceptional with each other & with us. We live in SW -it’s a trek we’re delighted to make because of the amazing care & attention fostered here.
Mother Pupper (both Kenton and Alberta) deserves more than 5 stars! Hands down the best doggy day care in town. Their entire staff is incredible! I adopted a Golden who was re-homed twice and with their help, she went from being anxious and nervous to a thriving pup. I know my pup is always in good hands and happy as can be. I am so thankful for everyone at both locations for the warmth and kindness they have showed both myself and my dog. If you are looking for a great day care for your dog....look no further! Thank you Mother Pupper!!
Mother Pupper is the most amazing place to take your fur baby! We just say the words “Mother Pupper,” and our dog sprints to the door. The staff is incredibly kind and communicative. They give us detailed updates on our pup’s day. They do a thorough behavioral assessment to make sure your dog will be a good fit. They post amazing pup pictures every day on instagram which are so fun to check out. You can tell how much they love the pups. It feels like leaving your dog with family. They are flexible if any scheduling or medical issues come up. It is also very safe for the pups. They work on recall with the dogs and also give the dogs down time during the day. We recommend Mother Pupper to every pup owner we know. It is the most incredible place to entrust with the care of tour fur baby!
We have been very impressed with Mother Puppers! We adopted a 1 year old golden-lab mix with impulse control issues. He started out in the puppy social group and Madison and team quickly figured out our athletic boy need to run on the treadmill and get some energy out before starting his lessons. They quickly brought him up to speed on commands such as going to bed, eating treats gently, greeting at the door etc. He is now in doggy day care once per week. The dogs are well screened before attending the play group. The center is calm and dog focused. We are very please with the care our dog receives. Thank you Zoe and Haley!
