I highly recommend Sampson Smiles for pet sitting! We have worked with Diana for many years to care for our two cats. She has a true talent for reading animals and meeting their needs. Our cats probably prefer her over us! Diana is responsive, reliable, and trustworthy. We are so fortunate to have her as our pet sitter because she gives us peace of mind when we are out of town and we know our cats and house are in safe hands with her.

Diana is amazing! She takes care of our furry family members (regular walks for our large breed pup and occasional house sitting for said pup and her kitty friend) as if they were her own. UPDATING Review: I felt that I needed to update my review after experiencing other doggy daycare options. I started bringing my dog here when he was a pup and he loved the smaller groups. I also was happy and comfortable knowing exactly who would be around my dog all day and knowing that they were being watched 100% of the time. I also boarded my dog with The Backyard Pack and was confident that he was being well cared for. Last year, before the pandemic hit, I added another dog to the family. She is a lot more strong willed then my older pup but she did very well at doggy daycare. Both dogs would come home exhausted and happy. Pandemic world, dogs stopped going to daycare for several months because both myself and my husband were home. When I began to go back to the office, we took advantage of another day care because they were offering 50% off their regular pricing and a neighbor that has a dog my pups love playing with, took their pup there as well. We did not take them often since we were still home a lot but it was great when we did because the 3 dogs could play together all day and would all come home completely tired out. By utilizing the other daycare service, we came to truly appreciate the Backyard Pack. With the other facility, my dogs got sick several times and my youngest was bit on 2 occasions, one being bad enough to cause an infection that required antibiotics. The Backyard pack is cleaned thoroughly and I had never previously experienced my dogs coming home sick. In addition to that, we had to board them and did so with the other facility(before the biting incidents). When we picked the pups up, we discovered that they had only been feed 50% of their meals. I would not chose to board my dogs anywhere else again. I can not say enough how much I appreciate knowing that my dogs will not be forgotten at The Backyard Pack when they are boarded this summer. My older dog also needs shots now and I know that I do not have to worry about this with Laurie and Brian. I would recommend The Backyard Pack over any other daycare if it is important to you that your dog is with people that truly care about your animal. My pups are both back in the Pack and they love this spot and the owners!

We started taking our American Staffy mix to the Backyard Pack because it was conveniently located just a few miles from work (and due to co-worker recommendations!). We have both moved on to new jobs, in the complete opposite direction of Backyard Pack, but still take our dog once every week or two. The staff is amazing, our dog comes home nice and tired, and we never have to worry about him while he's there. If we were closer, he'd go much more often. An extra perk is that Laurie (owner) is also a photographer so she can schedule Christmas, Valentines, engagement pictures while your dog is at daycare for the day. We love Backyard Pack! Just wish we were a little closer :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE The Backyard Pack! My Lab Blitz has been going to doggy daycare there for the past year. I couldn't be happier because he socializes with other dogs and is able to burn his energy during the day. Operating hours are perfect for me to drop off before work and pick up after. Laurie and Brian are wonderful with all the dogs and very experienced. Laurie is always giving advice with my pup! Highly recommend!!!!

We have been boarding our dog at the Backyard Pack for about a year and have been very happy! Our sweet dog has traditionally not enjoyed daycare or boarding, but has no problem walking right in to play here! The dogs get individual walks, which is perfect for dogs who need a bit of reprieve from the chaos of daycare, and Laurie also has lots of advice, especially about nutrition.

We are sooooooooo in love with The Backyard Pack! Our dog absolutely loves going! We have used them for both daycare and boarding and can not say enough great things about them! We refer them to every dog owner we know because they are just wonderful people and a wonderful place. The owners have helped us understand our dog more and better meet his needs. We have asked their advice on numerous occasions about dog products and dog care and they are very knowledgeable and helpful! We are always at ease when we have to leave our dog because we know he is well taken care of and having fun, which is a tremendous relief to have found such an AMAZING place! After moving back to the area after living in another state for a few years, we spent a good amount of time looking for an open boarding and daycare facility for our two rescue pit bulls. Our dogs interviewed at other facilities that seemed fine but as soon as we came to The Backyard Pack, it was obvious that this was the perfect fit for us. One of our dogs is very high energy and can suffer from anxiety and our other dog is very fearful. Laurie picked up on these behaviors immediately and worked throughout their first boarding experience to help them feel comfortable and start overcoming these behaviors. When I picked them up from their first boarding stay, Laurie took the time to explain how she worked with my dogs and recommended ways that I can continue to work with them at home. I am so impressed by the care provided to my dogs and appreciate the time that was taken to not only make my dogs comfortably fit into the pack but also to help me to facilitate positive behaviors in my dogs. This is a wonderful place to bring your dogs for daycare/boarding and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a facility that you can trust to take care of your dogs like you would at home.

The Backyard Pack is an AMAZING Doggy Daycare! We have been bringing our dog, Lola, there for the past 5 months for both daycare and overnight boarding. We could not be happier with our experiences there. The owners are amazing trainers and we have learned so much about how to correct Lola's behavior. They are always willing to give us advice and ways that we can help her understand what is good behavior. We also love the concept of the open daycare, no kennels, simulated apartment that they use!

My dog loves the Backyard Pack!! Laurie and Brian provide a great home away from home for my collie. They willingly answer questions about pet care, food, toys, behavior, etc., and they're very knowledgeable. Both daycare and boarding are reasonably priced. It's a great place!

Affordable and convenient doggy daycare- my dog attends 1-2x week and they still notice when he is more active than usual or got a new collar. They have discounted services when I have foster dogs, and they post videos of the dogs playing. Dogs come home tired and happy, so it's a good value for the owner's sanity. Once your dog is an approved member, you can drop them off any day of the work week without notice, which is great for flexible schedules. Highly recommend.

Teddy loves going to the “hotel”! We have used Montrose for over two years and they have been so incredible. The one on one attention they give to each fur baby rather than group play was really what made boarding him here so stress free. The staff are all so lovely and we look forward to the report cards after every visit. We continue to use Montrose even after moving closer to DC since the experience has been nothing but amazing!

Montrose was recommended to us by a family member a year ago and we've been taking our pup there ever since! Their staff is incredibly friendly and very quick to respond if you ever need anything. They even send you email updates with photos of your pup :) Our dog gets so excited to go! Highly recommend Montrose.

Our reactive dog stayed for a trial two days (one night) and they apparently made him feel completely comfortable! He even ate, and got along with everyone! Thanks for giving our little monster a lovely time!

We have boarded our dog at montrose pet hotel a few times now. My dog can be finicky and slow to warm up to new people and environments but he runs tail wagging towards the door the second we drop him off which is the only proof I need. The staff all goes above and beyond. They are so professional, friendly and I can tell they genuinely care about the animals that stay with them. My dog always comes back smelling clean and with a fun little report card summarizing his stay which is a nice touch. I am confident when I leave my dog at MPH he is in good hands.

Our pets stayed there for an entire week and seemed to have a blast. Any time we called to check on our pups the staff was so respectful and receptive. It was clear that they cared and spent time with our dogs!

Absolutely the best place to take care of my dog and the only place I trust completely. I have used their help on four different occasions over the last two years, my dog is always happy. Everyone I have met there is kind, friendly and patient, the place is always very clean. Communication has also been great: they never failed to send an email with a picture and reassure me that my dog was doing well. I very much appreciate the concern they showed when he got sick one day. We now use the vet in the same building - his experience has been priceless. Many thanks to all!!!

Very helpful with making reservations, they returned my call. Our dogs were well taken care of. We got a sort of report card when picking them up that had a pic of them playing & a few notes on how they did, really liked that extra customer service effort. Friendly drop off and pick up staff. LOVE Montrose Pet Hotel! We boarded our greyhounds (read: high maintenance!) here in a double cabin. The care takers are so good with each animal - ours are big babies and they were handled with love and care into the kennel area. We received a printout detailing how their stay went along with a picture of each dog during play time. Play time is separate for each dog unless they are "siblings." Knowing that our favorite vet is now overseeing the Pet Hotel gives us peace of mind knowing our fur babies are getting the best care. Thank you Dr T!

I recently started working with Kim’s Urban Hounds to help me walk my dog. Having certain medical conditions make it difficult to walk and also up and down stairs. Kim and her staff have been wonderful! They’re friendly, accommodating, understanding, supportive, helpful, and caring. Me and my dog always feel comfortable with them. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Kim’s Urban Hounds did a great job taking care of our senior “pup” while we were away. Our situation was a little unique in that they were able to partner with some of my family who stayed with him to make sure that he had the medical care he needed. They were very flexible and accommodating to what worked best for us. Our elderly dog Carson has mobility issues and struggles to stand on his own, but I received word that he stood up by himself once when Brandon arrived for his daily walk! That was great evidence that Carson really felt comfortable with Brandon, and was happy to see him. Kim’s Urban Hounds has an app that was very convenient. It provided us with one place for our conversations, scheduling calendar, payment info, etc. They also sent daily reports with how his visits went so I knew how his days were going. This gave me peace of mind. If I had a question or concern, Kim or another member of her staff would return my message promptly. I would not hesitate to employ their services again, and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing dog sitting or dog walking services. Thank you again for everything, Kim!

I recently moved and was delighted to find that I am still living in the area serviced by Kim’s Urban Hounds. Their dog walkers have always been great! They are reliable, prompt and love dogs. Last year I tore a hamstring muscle and could barely walk. I called Kim’s and they promptly sent someone to walk my dog Samson and continued to walk him until I recovered. I’m doubly pleased to know that Martin works in my current neighborhood—Samson loves him to death!!
