Our 2 Rottweilers stayed a weekend and it was a great experience for them and us. Appreciated the real time video to check in on our pups! Really nice facility, large kennels, and back yard space for the dogs to get exercise… squeaky toys were a bonus! We will be back!

Michael takes care of our pups so well! They are always so excited to stay here. Michael invited us to tour his facility and we saw how spacious and clean the kennels were. We also really appreciated how secure the property was too. Michael also took pictures of our pups playing and send them to us during their stay! My pups have always come home clean, happy, and healthy.

Our dog Rex stayed for 2 weeks and not only was he well taken care of but Mike even figured out how to cut his nails which had been a huge problem! They are dog owners themselves and they are great with dogs!

Wow! I think my dog had a better vacation than I did! Brenda and Michael are such kind people. After not seeing my dog for 8 days I was excited to see her and I was thrilled with the service and extra efforts to take care of my dog, but me also. I was able to see my dog through a link so my anxiety was kept at a minimum. Still, the best moment was when my dog, in her excitement, was running back and forth between me and Brenda. I could tell that my dog had a wonderful time because she felt safe and cared for.

I am so happy with this kennel. We made a last minute trip during the new year and it is hard to find vacancies, but we just happened to find Mountain View Boarding Kennel. Michael and his mom took such great care of our Titus; Michael also went above and beyond and spent the night with my big boy during New Year’s Eve. He spooks easily with fireworks!! When I brought Titus home I thought they even gave him a bath because he was brushed, shiny, and smelled wonderful, but I found out that Michael’s mom took time out to brush him and spray him with lavender. It’s nice to know that you are leaving your baby (dog/cat) with people who will care for them the way you do. I will continue to use their services and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to board their dog!!

Our dog Kio stayed a week here. She was well taken care of. Micheal communicated everyday, sent pictures and even had video set up so we could see her in her kennel. We will definitely be using them again.

Yes, Madame's Cathouse is still open. I have left my cat with Sharon many times (and will again shortly) and it gives me great peace of mind knowing he isn't being left in a cage all day.

At this time, just checking it's still open. I left my cats with Sharon a few times, they are always well taken care of, and, to be honest, she knows more about cats than I do. Now I only have one cat but I have to leave the island again and I hope that's where she can go while I'm away.

The owner’s 20+ years of solid experience and the cozy, very cat friendly, space devoted to housing a small number of cats, makes this place the best of the best when it comes to cat boarding. Very happy to leave my cat masters with Madame!

I love Sharon - her love and care for all animals alike is something out of this world. The location of her property is secluded and in a unique spot, most definitely a good experience for all kitty cats!

Is this business operating at all? I've been calling at different times for about 3 months now. Every time there's no response and I get sent to voice mail. I've also left several voice mailed and have yet to be called back. All I want to know is if this business is still open.

Everyone at Pau Hana Pet Resort was wonderful! We had our puppy Rome in Doggy Daycare And he always came back happy and full of news what he did that day! They sent lots of pictures daily and kept me posted and how he was doing, will be using them from now on for our pets care!

Our American Bulldog Kobe for the first time stayed at a public sitter. We chose Pau Hana Pet Resort and we couldn't be more happy we chose them. We were able to enjoy our trip with no worries the staff took pictures assuring us our furry baby was doing okay. Kobe came home very happy and clean he got a nice fresh bath. We definitely will use Pau Hana Pet Resort again and we definitely will be referring them to others. Thank you Pau Hana Pet Resort.

Pau Hana is an awesome dog kennel. We always board our dog here when we travel off island because they screen all doggie guests for behavior. Our girl comes back calm and in very healthy shape. We enjoy the pictures that PH sends us of our dog during the trip too! Highly recommend!

This is Bindi’s second stay at Pau Hana and I’m so pleased she has a safe and comfortable place to stay when we go off island. When she comes home, she is calm and not clingy, which tells me she felt comfortable. She also smells nice from her exit bath. I appreciate the update photos every few days so I can see her playing with the other dogs. I also really like that the owners live on site. It gives me the peace of mind of knowing they would be aware if something happened during the night.

Buddy loved his stay at the resort! When we picked him up, he was happy and tired (which is a great to know he had fun playing with other dogs). He also got an exit bath so came home nice and clean. We’ll definitely be using Pau Hana Pet Resort again in the future. Thanks!!!

I am confident leaving my little baby here. They separate large and small dogs so mine has fun playing with other dogs his size. The owners remember me every time I hav contacted them even though my dog has only stayed twice.

We were very happy with our experience at Pau Hana. The owners are very kind and helpful and communicated with us daily and sent photos to let us know how the dogs were doing.Our three dogs stayed with them for several days and came home happy and healthy AND bathed! :) We will continue using their service in the future and recommend this business.

Our dog absolutely loves this place! As we are driving down the road, he realizes where we are going and the tail starts wagging! It makes us feel good to leave him where he is happy and safe and its a good chance for him to socialize with other dogs. He always comes back to us safe and content, if a little tired from playing so hard. Sometimes we add an "exit bath" and he smells great for days! Very grateful for this wonderful facility.

I Don't want this to be an ugly review because these are not ugly people. I did not actually board my dog there apparently due to miscommunication. It seems like a beautiful place to leave my dog. The meet and greet went well. The only issue I had was that I was told that the dates I wanted was open pending the meet and greet. So I thought once the meet and greet was over if she passed everything was cool. Those dates were reserved for me. However, that wasn't the case. Once the meet and greet was over and she did good I was told that the dates were now taken. So of course now short on time I was very upset. I did make a suggestion that if a new customer wants a certain date, that date should be reserved for them pending the meat and greet. If someone else wants those dates in the meantime, they should be told that the dates are taken pending the meet and greet. However, if it doesn't go well then the other person can have those dates. So here I was thinking everything was set. I just have to pass this meet and greet. that wasn't the case. Going forward, yes I would use these people to board my dog. They have a nice setup. My dog got along great with his dog and I would love to see her play with other dogs and socializing. Sorry this is such a long message but I did want to clear it up that I am not giving this a bad review because I had a bad experience I'm giving it a three because of bad communication. However, if I ever use them to board my dog or daycare, I will write another review based on that. Thank you for your time and understanding.

We have taken our fur-baby Pono here quite a few times in the past year or so. Sometimes for a couple days, sometimes a couple weeks. We know Pono is well taken care of by Eddie and Lily. He loves massages and he loves walking himself lol

We took a last minute trip and needed a place to board our border collie last minute. The Hilo Holiday Pet Hotel was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. They made room for him and we're very friendly. The only problem we had was our boy didn't want to leave when we got back! Great staff and great facilities. Will definitely use again.

Eddie and his staff was awesome. Anyone that knows me know I do not leave my dogs with just anyone but we were very confident that our babies were in good care. We visited a few boarding facilities before I decided here. Our babies stayed here for 5 days and even though in the beginning they had to get used too it . They loved running in his huge enclosed yard. I called everyday to check on them and I also received pictures ( which eased me). I will definitely use this place and I trust my babies in his care ! This is a very caring place they treat my pet as their own family pet. He comes home clean n in the same way as I left him. They play n let the pets run in the yard. Eddie n his staff is like family to us we don’t worry when we live our zoney there. The best pet boarding hotel!!!!

I had planned a trip to the mainland for ten days and landed in the hospital in Nevada. Total days gone from my dog: 17. I felt so helpless and I missed my house dog, Snowflake so much! Snow is handicapped on his hind legs. He can use his hind legs but not for long. He will eventually drag them. Anyway, Uncle Eddie and Aunty Lilia took such good care of him at the kennel that when I picked him up, it was just another day to him. He looked happy, strong, independent and ready to run! Three times a day he would have the freedom to run and exercise his legs and he loved all that grassy areas. I made couple of videos for Snow and they would play it for him just so that he could see me and hear my voice. For sure I will take him there again if I ever need to travel. And the prices are so reasonable especially when it’s long stay. Thank you Eddie and Lilia! I’m so happy my daughter recommended your place! God bless!

My dog absolutely loves it here!! It takes a lot of worry off my mind when I have to leave my dog for a while knowing he is in good hands! Eddie takes great care of him, knows how to handle dogs, and my dog always has lots of fun during his stay. Highly recommended!!

Eddy was amazing with our dogs. He takes them out and plays with them and walks them. His place is so clean and beautiful , I dont think my pets wanted to come home at first. So nice knowing they ste safe and happy with him.

They left my dog unattended all day locked in a cage. She had urinated all over her bed. I had to have a neighbor go and pick my dog up early. No apology from the owner. No refund. Absolutely nothing. Be very cautious when booking here. Also they have fleas on their property. They say they have play time with them but never once took my dog out of the kennel. Be aware!!!! This place is not a 5 Star!!!!

If I could give Laurel more stars, I'd give her 100!! My husband and I purchased our first German Shepherd puppy from this breeder. We were nervous to make such a big financial commitment to a breeder (or puppies from a breeder) we've never personally met. However, after 30 minutes of thorough details about the puppies she produces and the quality of their pedigree, there was an unexplainable peace that I felt after our conversation that prompted me to submit our deposit to hold our place in line. The most difficult part was the wait. We waited almost a year to finally have our precious puppy in our hands. THE WAIT IS WORTH IT. Our puppy was shipped from the Big Island to Oahu (crate and cargo fees an extra fee) and it was a smooth process to pick her up. Laurel (and her team? I assume there's a team. unless she's super woman, which honestly is very believable after learning how amazing she is at breeding these puppies) began crate training the puppies prior to going to their new homes. Our puppy, Cinnamon, was crate trained for 3 hours. Of course the first night was tough because she was acclimating to a new environment, but the subsequent nights were peaceful and quiet as she laid in her kennel through the night. Fast forward to today, Cinnamon is now a little over 4 months old and she is our super star. We enrolled her in puppy training classes at Petco. She already knew more than half of the commands they were teaching, but we wanted her to get training with distractions as well as the socialization aspect. We quickly learned that: 1, she was intelligent beyond her years, and 2, she played the best with all of the dogs. This includes both timid, and rough/bold puppies. She knew how to turn on and off the "calm". Our 6 year old Beagle/Chihuahua/Terrier mix, Pepper, has gotten moodier in the last 2 years. She does not like energetic puppies getting into her face all the time and has been known to "snap" at other dogs if they get too close (big or small). Cinnamon has been toughing things out and continues to pursue Pepper's heart, but with tenderness and patience. Today was a BIG leap in their relationship as we found them laying in the same kennel sleeping. (They did this all on their own!) Cinnamon has adapted around her and quickly became the "gentle giant." PLEASE keep in mind, we put a lot of time, energy, and resources into training Cinnamon. German Shepherds, although extremely intelligent, require a lot of time, discipline, and rewarding because without a good dog parent, you get uncontrollable children. And GSD are smart. They will learn how to "get around you," if you let them. I'm not just saying all of this to brag about our good girl (even though yes, she is the BEST in our eyes), but also to show that she was bred with extreme care and attention to detail. She makes both a great companion and protector. She is bold, but not aggressive. She is gentle, but not shy. If you are looking for the perfectly balanced German Shepherd Dog, look no further. Alpha K9 Kennels is your last stop (and should be only stop) for a reputable, responsible, and well-educated German Shepherd breeder.

I have kenneled my beloved boxer twice with Alpha K-9 Kennels. Love the staff and the owner . They love their job and take extremely good care of my baby when I am on vacation. I can always rest assured that she will be well taken care of and love while I am away. They also set my pictures and videos of her being walked and played with. Her last stay she had medicine that need to be applied twice daily and tat was taken care of as well . Thank you very much AlphaK-9 kennels,we will definitely be returning ❤️

I’m so happy Laurel was able to fit us in. She answered every phone call and every question we had. We got updates every so often of tippi which helped to ease the stress of leaving our lil baby while we were gone. I recommend alpha k-9 if you’re on the fence.

Earlier this year we lost our 13 years old Shepherd. After several months of an empty home, we decided to start our search for a new fur baby. This is when we discovered Alpha K-9 Kennels. Laurel was empathetic to our recent loss and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us through the process of getting our new fur baby. Laurel and Aloha K-9 Kennels staff kept us abreast of the litter’s growth progress by posting pictures and videos. Laurel was patient with us as we chose our new puppy from the litter and took the time to talk with us and answer our questions. We now consider her a friend! This is our Harley. He is currently 4 months old. Healthy and full of energy. Our home is now full of happy puppy sounds. I started the journey to get Nui (a German Shepherd Puppy) from these amazing group of people back in June or July. They are on the Big Island but can ship anywhere, and they keep in touch with you every step of the way. I was having payment issues due to the pandemic and Laurel was sure to work with me on that, and I really appreciated that. The delivery process was so smooth, she ensured that I was notified when she shipped the puppy, and ensured that I got all the information I needed to pick him up. Any questions that’s I asked she was sure to get back with me at her earliest convenience (within the hour) and ensured that everything went smooth. I still ask her for tips on the puppy but all I can say is thank you, I would recommend this breeder to anyone!

We were warmly and pleasantly welcomed by the owner, Laurel, who is very knowledgeable in her animal breeds. We boarded two pets, a dog🐕‍🦺 and a cat 🐈‍⬛ for 7-days. She followed-up with text photos as they settled in their own kennel spaces. We're happy that she was readily available to accomodate our short-planned travel and grateful she is reasonable priced. Our boy Leo attended the 14 day board and basic training at Alpha K-9 Kennels. We are so pleased with everything he's learned and the quality of care they provided. Alpha K-9 Kennels is by far the best that i have experienced. They always take such good care of my german shepherd when I travel. i don't know what i would do without them.

l wanted a German Shepherd for a very long time but, finding on in Hawaii seemed hopeless until I had seen the most beautiful GSD at the park. I asked the owner where she had gotten her dog and she told me about Laurel on the Big Island who owns Alpha K-9 Kennels. Laurel is the sweetest person, she walked me through numerous details, answered all my questions and worked with me so that I could get my baby in three payments which she didn't have to do. My GSD is perfect! She's smart, loyal and certainly beautiful. I wish I had a $1 for every time someone tells me how amazing she is, as I'd be very wealthy. Great company, awesome animals.

My dog had an awful experience here. I have never experienced such negligence leaving her anywhere. One of their excuses was that she is old but she lost 15 pounds over about five days and had poop on her butt when she was picked up. Never did I receive a phone call or text about her having diarrhea or not eating. She was shaking the whole way home when my sister picked her up and when I got her from my sister she wasn’t excited to see me. She was scared and thought she was in trouble which is very out of character and has never happened before with my high-energy and happy pup. Although I did get several follow-calls, their good standing doesn’t matter to me when the care could have been there all along. I’m very disappointed and she’s still recovering a few weeks later to gain her weight back. Do not bring your dog here or especially an older dog that cannot afford to have these experiences! They are not attuned to animals even though they’re probably nice people.

My dog's were full of life when I picked them up. Communication with the owners were easy and the area for them to run was awesome. Mahalo to Jim, and his team.

This is Buddy and Bailey third time to stay at Lucky D kennels. I am grateful there is such a place here in Kona to take your dogs. They don't have to be with a bunch of other dogs they have their own huge fence area to be with each other. My dog buddy isn't the most social dog so it is great that he doesn't have to be put with lots of other dogs. Jim, Megan and Dawn are great with my family - they are open to anything you might ask. I microwave chicken to add to the dog food and so does lucky D - if you ask them too...

How do I know it’s a great place? My dogs jump out of the car immediately and then sleep for days after. And for a few days after if they are outside and we open the truck doors? They jump in

They were a life saver when we needed a place for our dogs to stay in October 2022. I initially talked to the owner and he was very professional and friendly. I felt comfortable leaving my dogs in his care. Check in was good (rest of staff was just as friendly) and the facilities clean. When I picked my dogs up, they seemed well cared for. Thanks Lucky D!

I've taken my dogs to Lucky D Kennels for years now. It's the only boarding facility I trust with my dogs while I'm away. The property and kennels are pristine. The experienced staff are absolutely wonderful and very friendly. They treat my dogs like family. My dogs recognize the staff and get excited to see them every time! I couldn't be any happier with their care and customer service. I highly recommend them!

Seriously, the best kennel on the island. Everyone is so helpful and sweet. Our 2 dogs have so much fun every time. Great for short trips and long adventures.

I've been a customer for almost 10 years. Jim does a great job and takes my dog's care very seriously. Huge outdoor kennels. They also accommodate special diets and let me store marrow bones in their freezer when I board my dog. Nice people!

I have been a client of Kamuela Pet Care for 14 years and Lisa has always been a safe and trusted pet sitter. My dog Mochi loved staying there it was a second home to him. He was so excited to be dropped off there he would run into the house like a bullet and not look back. We have a new puppy now and plan to take our dog there when we travel again. Very safe.

Lisa at Kamuela Pet care is an absolute gem. She truly cares for all of her guest pets as her own. My dog has been visiting her for years and gets so excited every time we turn down her street.. he is ready to jump out of the car! As soon as my car door opens he runs to her front door and starts barking in excitement until she opens the door. The second the door opens he runs inside and starts playing with her other dogs! We don't have to worry one bit when he is with her. I don't know what we would do without her. We travel a ton for work and vacations which we would not be able to do without her!! Our boy is well fed.. we always bring his food and he gets to eat with the rest of the “pack”. We bring his bed for him to sleep in although sometimes I think he sneaks into bed with her and he husband who is also just amazing with the dogs! Our boy gets plenty of love and attention at his Auntie Lisas and when we pick him up he is sad to leave and all worn out from so much play time! Its a dream!! 🐶🐶

Lisa and her family have been dedicated sitters to my fur baby (which cane before my human baby) for years. Being my first (kid) it was imperative I felt I could trust Lisa and never once have I had an issue. Lisa's kind, loving, inclusive pack is an ideal setting for my little darlings, and I have never considered an alternate sitter. Lisa hasn't ever turned my request for service down and i always know my babies will be well fed, safe, and cozy. Kudos to Lisa and her entire family!!!!

We would not trust anyone else with Annie than Lisa. I love that she cares for smaller dogs and has them indoors at night. My Annie is timid and not much of a socializer. Lisa picked up on that right away and takes extra care. Her yard is nicely landscaped and well gated allowing dogs to explore, play and do their business. Lisa will text photos to you by request which for us is every time we she sits for us. We are so glad we found Lisa for Annie.

I only spoke to the owner on the phone, but she was SO helpful and knowledgeable. After taking the time to talk to me about what she offers, she asked me about my dog and my situation. It turns out there is a dog daycare that is much closer to my job, and since I'm already commuting, she thought it might make more sense for me. How awesome is that? I wish her kennels made sense for me because I would have dropped my Lucy off there with no hesitations or worry, and will definitely recommend Hilo Kennels to anyone. I was just so impressed with her professionalism and how much she truly cares for the animals. Your dog will be home if you take it here, it's easy to see why they're successful.
