We had an amazing experience with The Ruff House! We needed a place to board our dog (Lincoln) over Thanksgiving and were fortunate to find an opening. The communication was excellent—we received daily report cards detailing our dog’s activities and even got pictures of him playing and enjoying his meals. It was so reassuring to see how well he was cared for. We couldn’t be happier and will definitely be using their services again in the future!

Pretty Sure Rex would also give a 5 star review! Great loving staff and a very reasonable cost. When we dropped him off for his first boarding there were other dogs arriving as well. They all looked super happy and excited to be there. When we picked him up it was obvious he felt at home at The Ruff House. I sure appreciated the daily pictures and the report cards.

We love The Ruff House so much. Our pups stayed here for 20 days in total so far and they were thriving! One of our pups gets very protective of our other pup in social settings and also gets very anxious when she sees her sister playing with other dogs. The staff patiently listened to our needs. As a solution, they made sure to separate the pups when they socialized with other dogs and they even made time for one-on-one play! The daily report cards were fantastic and were the highlights of our vacation (sad, I know). Our drive to The Ruff House was 1.5 hours from DC but we’d readily make the trek in the future. That’s how great this place is!

The Ruff House and its employees are the best of the best. Our 2 beagles have been frequent daycare and overnight boarders for several years. You know your dogs are happy when they run to the front door of the facility as if to say, let us in, let the party begin. Thank you Ruff House!!!

We left our yorkiepoo for a long weekend and she enjoyed her time at the Ruff House. We didn’t receive any issues about her and she’s very happy! She will probably miss her friends from the Ruff House! We are very pleased to leave our yorkiepoo at the Ruff House! She seems to really enjoy all the other dogs she plays with and the staff is wonderful with her! We bring her there whenever we leave town!

My husband and I are newer pet parents. We have an almost 2yo boxer mix and this was our first time having to board him. The Ruff House had great reviews so we took the leap and scheduled a week with them. I love that they have a meet and greet to evaluate the pup and see how they do with other dogs, especially since ours hasn’t been around dogs in that type of setting. Obviously we were nervous but the staff member that we handed our pup off too on 7/18 was wonderful. I also voiced my concerns about him being a pain to feed. Sometimes it sits out all day sometimes we sit down and spoon feed him. Obviously he’s spoiled rotten. They were happy to oblige!! Also the report cards and pictures were sent were comforting. To be able to see him having fun made us so happy! I highly recommend boarding your pup here.

We love The Ruff House! We recently boarded our dog here for 3 nights and we couldn’t have had a better experience! We looked forward to the daily photos and report cards! It gives us comfort to know our girl will be taken care of when we travel!

We LOVE the Ruff House! Our dog, Grohl, has the best time whenever he goes there, jumping to get out of the car. I love getting daily report cards with photos and updates on what he did all day. They do such a great job with the pups and I HIGHLY recommend them!

My husband & I felt very comfortable leaving our dog Kassie at the Ruff House for 2 weeks while on vacation. With daily report cards & pictures of her playing with her new friends, we felt like she was also on vacation & having the time of her life. The facility is very structured & the employees are very caring & nuturing. We will definitely consider using the Ruff House again in the future.

Our dog loves this kennel. If you are not thrilled by the high prices and unnecessary frills of other kennels, Four Paws is just what you need. Our dog is always super happy when we pick her up. The staff are very friendly and you can tell they really love dogs.

I have boarded my dog here and take him to doggy daycare a couple times a week. I believe he absolutely loves this place because he is sad when he doesn’t go, and when he does go he is extremely excited. Everyone there is really nice and care about the animals. I HIGHLY recommend this place due to the following: friendliness, cost, cleanliness, communication, staff, and the facility. I have absolutely no gripes about this place. I trust them with my baby.

First time at this location. Furbaby is a regular at Richmond and the care for him here for overnight was great and seamless given he is in the network already. This location is tucked away but is newer it appears and the staff is great just like in Richmond. Kudos to the social media posts.

I love the staff! My rescue dog was anxious and apprehensive around other dogs and unfamiliar people but with the time and attention she's received from their compassionate staff she's transformed into a happy outgoing dog.

Do not let your dogs board here! My husky stayed there from Sunday until Friday and when she was was picked up she had sores all on her nose and she is not acting like herself she seems very traumatized. I was informed the day before that she tried to get out of her cage breaking it in the process and that’s how she got the sores but when I asked for pictures of the cage I was told by amanda, the manager, that she would send them to me. 2 hours had passed and I called back to see what had happened and I was told she was in the bathroom but she would call me back and 30 mins passed and still no call and when I tried to call no one answers. For your dogs safety I REPEAT DO NOT LET YOUR DOG STAY HERE! How did she tear up a cage or even begin to tear up a cage without anyone noticing?

i've boarded my dog here for at least a year, perhaps coming up on two. he loves this place deeply, as soon as he sees the staff it's like his parents don't exist anymore with how excited he is to see them. my dog had a sudden, serious medical episode while being boarded. as terrifying as the ordeal was to deal with remotely, 4paws didn't just go above and beyond for me -- they moved mountains. amanda and camden, two employees, leapt into action and took care of my dog as if he were their own. they drove him to multiple vets looking for an opening, eventually going all the way to richmond's emergency vet because that was the only option with capacity that day. those two stayed with my dog in the emergency vet for well over 12 hours total (well into the next morning), with constant communication and photo updates of my dog the entire time. they both also had an impeccable positive attitude throughout the entire ordeal, which made me (and my dog too im sure) stay calm. even the vet commented on how comfortable my baby was to be with those two, which was great to hear even though i already knew he loves them. amanda and camden are the absolute peak of pet care professionalism, leadership, and most importantly, pet health. i will forever be grateful to amanda and camden for their dedication to making sure my dog was safe and healthy regardless of distance and time consumption. 4paws treats their clients' pets like their own children and i will always owe them more than i can ever repay for being there with my baby when i was states away and could not be there myself.

They rejected one of my dogs all because of her breed. She is a pit mix. But she is the sweetest dog ever. Wish people and places wouldn’t judge just by the breed🤦‍♀️ …

We needed 4Paws to give our dog meds at a certain time before our arrival to pick her up, so we called when on our way there. Had to leave a VM because there was no answer. Rather than having to wonder if they got the message and gave her the meds, Ashley (sp?) called us back within a cpl mins to confirm both receipt of the msg and the passing of said msg to those who give meds to the dogs. Thx, Ashley, for making it so that my wife didn’t stressbox, wondering if our dog got the meds she needed.

I have been taking my dogs there for boarding and daycare. Their staff is always welcoming very friendly They take care of my dogs like they were their own. I truly appreciate all their efforts and caring they put into what they do every day and for my dogs. I highly recommend this place.

We adopted a 10 month old Beagle who's energy was out of this world. The first day of Doggie Day Care was amazing The staff greeted him with love, checked on him when I called and gave me a report when I picked him up. He is happy to be there and it is because of the staff and his new dog friends. Even our new vet said this was a good place.

I'm new to the Fredericksburg area and this was my first time using Peace of Mind Pet Services. I have kitties and was apprehensive leaving them with complete strangers for the very first time. I have to say that the name says it all!!! First I had communication with Janette who answered ALL of my many questions with patience and humor and she definitely laid my fears to rest. Then I met Wanda who was the person who actually took care of my kitties and boy oh boy, what a magnificent person she is. Wanda took care of my kitties, I feel, like they were her own. This was the first time that I came back from being away and didn't get that kitty attitude from them that how dare I leave them, so I know they were in very good hands with Wanda. I would highly recommend Peace of Mind Pet Services! As I said above, their name says it all.

Janette and staff are amazing! We have a reactive dog and another dog that takes medications. I fully trust that my dogs are being taken care of with Janette. They send updates and pictures of my happy pups when they visit. I’ve been using them for several months now and do not have any complaints!

Such a great pet sitting company! Janette is incredibly responsive, reliable, and very caring. She has saved me numerous times with last minute requests. Her team is great too. My dogs love them and get so excited to see them. Jannette loves them almost as much as I do. Can’t recommend her and her team more highly!! You can trust them with your fur babies.

When a last minute travel opportunity came up, Janette was able to accommodate us. While away, she came in, fed our cat, spent time with him, and sent updates and photos. She also did us the service of bringing in mail and packages for our 2 days away. The descriptions of how our cat was doing were incredibly reassuring, and it was nice to see his face and how he was adapting to Janette. I look forward to using Peace of Mind Pet Services in the future, and not just because it means another vacation! :) I highly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I have known and used Janette Housley's pet services since 2010. She is an outstanding pet person. My pets adore her and I have never had a poor experience with her. She is brilliant, loving, kind, generous, and totally devoted to animals. Anyone who uses her services will never seek another. Janette and her crew have provided excellent, loving care for our dogs. They work with the schedule we give them (i.e., 4 walks and feedings per day since one dog has trouble with less than that). The dogs LOVE everyone with Peace of Mind Pet Services! We enjoy the notes about many of the visits along with the current pictures of our boys eating, walking, or being loved. We have left our babies with Janette et al for a week at a time and shorter spells also.

I have used Peace of Mind for many years. I can be away from home knowing that my canine and feline pets are being well cared for. I receive daily updates . They even took care of a special fish my grandson gave me. I strongly recommend them as they are loving caregivers and wonderful people.

We highly recommend! We've been having Jeannette and her team sit our kitties for a few years now..... She uses a handy app for scheduling visits and making payments, but she's always a text or email away when plans change or status is requested. The app also allows sitters to send visit status posts and photos, which is nice when on the road away from home.

In the several years of using this business I have never had a single problem. The staff is very professional and quick to respond to requests. The attention to detail, including providing updates during longer out-of-town trips, is fantastic. It's not just the business, they truly care for the pets they watch. Nancy has been looking after my dog and three cats for a couple of years now and she is exceptional. She is reliable and efficient, and takes the time to get to know the animals. I have no concerns about their care when I go away, she even collects my mail and newspapers, and cleans up any accidents! Nancy never lets me down and I highly recommend Tandem Tails.

Tandem Tails Pet Sitting is AWESOME! Nancy provides a reliable and caring service for our dog. I never worry about him while we are out of town because she treats him as if he was one of her own.

We loved the service Nancy provides. We have never boarded our dogs and cats ever. We have taken them with us on vacation or had family members come in from out of state to watch them. So taking this step was pretty concerning. Well with the initial introductory visit and the many questions about the service we decided to go for it. The feedback via text and pictures while we were gone were very comforting. We could see our dogs and cats warming up to Nancy and becoming very comfortable to her frequent visits. Once we were home Nancy came by and you would have thought Nancy was a family member to them. We are looking foreword to a bit more freedom of travel now.

Our experience at Woof Houze has been nothing short of amazing. I sought out training for our 4 year old pit mix, Ella, due to aggressive/reactive behaviors towards other dogs after being attacked at a dog park. Ella means the world to me and seeing her suffer the anxiety and trauma-related reactivity was heartbreaking and extremely stressful/anxiety provoking for myself. We started training with Adia (who is LOVELY) and through her knowledge and expertise, Ella was able to make leaps and bounds towards her goal of being able to interact with dogs in a safe way. Adia taught me that MY anxiety needed to be addressed in addition, as Ella’s reactions fed off of the stress I was producing when she was around other dogs. I am so pleased to say that Ella is now able to attend their Play Care on a weekly basis. She wears a muzzle in the beginning to help her ease into the environment but has been able to take it off and have positive interactions with some of the other dogs. As Adia has taught me, Ella may not get along with every single dog there but the staff does an amazing job of reading the dog’s behaviors and managing interactions and providing safe space for each dog to enjoy the time they have. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone who is struggling with their dog’s behavior, especially if they struggle with aggression, as many other training facilities around here do not have the ability or expertise to really do effective work with those types of behaviors. I can’t say enough good things about Woof Houze and the incredible care they provide. From the moment we walk in, the owner, Adia, and her team make us feel like family. They genuinely care about my dog, Purple, just as much as I do. She gets so excited when we pull up to the play care center, which tells me everything I need to know about how much she enjoys her time there. Woof Houze’s play care curriculum is unmatched. The socialization, enrichment activities, and training Purple receives during the day leave her happily exhausted. I’ve looked into other daycares in the area, and nothing compares to the level of engagement and attention Woof Houze provides. Safety and security are top priorities here. The staff follows strict protocols consistently, giving me peace of mind that Purple is in good hands. I loved that whatever Purple needed during her trainings we were able to address and work on even down to helping her out with her nutrition, which in turn helped her out with her allergies. Purple went from a scared dog out in public to a confident, and curious dog in such a short time. They honor a dog’s nature rather than trying to suppress it, and Purple has become a more balanced, happy dog because of it. I also love that they do not use any type of harmful devices or tactics in order to train your dog so they receive correction and positive reinforcement versus shock collars and other hurtful training methods. The Woof Houze facility is state-of-the-art. From the sanitary outdoor turf to the pool where Purple can swim, they’ve spared no expense in creating the ultimate experience for dogs. The love and care Purple receives from everyone there truly makes this place special. If, like me, you’re hesitant to trust just anyone with your pup, I can’t recommend Woof Houze highly enough. They treat your dog like family, and I would recommend them 1,000 times over. This isn’t just a business to them—it’s their passion, and it shows in every aspect. Woof Houze changed my dog's life. We pulled Watson from the shelter a couple of years ago. He started showing signs of anxiety and fear aggression towards people, along with compulsive behaviors. We hired a trainer and all they did was make him more anxious and fearful, and we had to stop and bail on the remainder of the package. AB Wellness in Fairfax recommended Woof Houze so we gave them a call. Adia was incredibly patient with Watson, working to gain his trust first and foremost, then gradually introducing other trainers from Woof Houze. Once they were confident, we started sending him to playcare twice a week. This was about a year ago. We were invited to bring Watson to the open house for their new location this past weekend, and that is why I'm writing this review. Watson - the scared dog that someone tossed away on the side of the road two years ago, the dog who we were afraid to let get anywhere near other people - was running around the play yard, playing with other dogs and letting strangers pet him! We still have a lot of work ahead of us but Adia (and Olive and the rest of the team) have done an amazing job of letting Watson know that he's safe, he's loved, and life is good. There is no one I would trust more with ANY dog.

Both of my pups attend Woof Houze PlayCare, and ride the Bark Buz. They love it! I can’t say enough good things about them. They love my pups like their own. My pups are always so excited when the buz stops at our house to get them.

Our experience here has been nothing short of spectacular. Our dog loves it, and Adia and her staff are wonderful with our pup. Their compassion and patience with the animals is amazing. The Bark Bus is also a great perk if you live within the route area. Our dog loved waiting for her bus!

I highly recommend Woof Houze for behavioral training for your dog! When I came to Adia back in April of this year I had a dog that barked and growled at everyone and everything. He only would be with me. Since I have been coming to see Adia and her team they have provided with the tools I need to be more confident with taking my boy out on walks and being around other people and dogs. 11 months ago we had a black lab that was wild. Wouldn’t listen to any of us. We tried other places, with no luck. On a whim, my wife called Woof Houze. We brought Cooper to meet Adia. Instantly, she had my dog responding to her commands. I was amazed. Today, Cooper is still a snack thief, chow hound, and stuffed animal destroyer, but most importantly, he’s a part of our family. No more bite marks on my wife’s arms. No more doubt that he will never behave. Most importantly, we, the parents, learned to listen to what he wants and needs through his actions. All the staff at Woof Houze are Great with the animals, and amazingly patient with the parents as well. If you think there’s no way your pup will change, no hope in sight, give them a call. I had a wonderful experience with Calypso Kennels. I boarded my cat for the first time and she was quite apprehensive and had some trouble adjusting. Staff kept me very informed. They made significant effort to get my girl uplifted. The care and service was truly incredible. I am beyond grateful.

Calypso kennels took very good care of my three best friends while I was out of town. The staff was very attentive to their special needs and Lilo, Stitch, and Marty McFly seemed very happy and content while in their care. Thank you Calypso for taking care of my buddies.

We love this kennel. They are very friendly and help keep our fur friend happy and healthy. They keep you up to date if anything is wrong and will help solve the problem. My dog always has a good time

This was my first time boarding Lucy with Calypso. Staff gave us a tour as requested before boarding her showing all the areas with explanations of the use. We liked the concept of Lucy having her own kennel and outside run - while she is ok around other dogs, it's not her norm. She would much rather be around people - here they take the dogs on "potty break walks" and provide options for yard time (ie, a large fenced area where the dog can run free/play/do zoomies). They have several options you can add to the daily room fee to tailor the pups visit. Lucy stayed 5 days. Calypso provided a verbal and a written summary of her stay (activity level, how she ate, any noted bowel changes, what she seemed to enjoy - for Lucy it was lying in the sun on her external run). We rarely board Lucy - we take her most everywhere we travel. It's great to have a place available near home that pays good attention to her, provides her with a safe environment (ex, air conditioning, back up generators in case of a power outage, daily cleaned kennel, etc) and keeps us informed.

This was our first experience using Calypso Kennels. We will definitely be using them again. Our dogs have never been to a kennel before and having the peace of mind that they were safe and well taken care of is priceless.

I used Calypso Kennels for the first time last week. I boarded my dog Thursday -Monday. The staff was very nice and professional. The facility is maintained very well. They took very care of my dog and even gave him a bath! I plan to use them for future boarding and daycare.

Dexter is our 1 year old+ baby. He is a Mountain Curr Dalmatian mixed with high energy. The staff knows how to handle those particular breeds. He takes a 15 minute break every hour to calm him down, we use that same technique at home with great results.

I was so grateful for the staff (especially Rachel) that provided a personalized care for our dog and kept us up to date on everything with our dog. They were so accommodating when we ran into issues while on vacation and running late for pickup. It truly made me believe that the staff really cared about the dogs and their families and that they’re not just a business that only cares about the bottom line. We’ll definitely bring Milo back for boarding and daycare needs.

I am extremely disappointed with Dogtopia and feel compelled to share my experience. First and foremost, the way they treat their employees is appalling. The management is a complete mess—poorly organized and seemingly indifferent to both staff and dogs. The facility is overcrowded with dogs, far beyond what the space can accommodate safely. There aren't even enough crates, forcing them to improvise in ways that seem unsafe and uncomfortable for the dogs. The worst part is how they handle the dogs' basic needs. They allow the dogs to pee and poop inside the room rather than taking them outside for walks, leaving the employees to clean up the mess. This is not only unhealthy for the dogs but also unfair and unsanitary for the staff. It adds unnecessary extra work that could easily be avoided with proper care and attention. On top of all this, they are severely understaffed, which only exacerbates the problems. It’s clear that Dogtopia doesn't care about the safety or well-being of the dogs or their employees. I would strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for dog care. This place is a disaster!

We just started coming to Dogtopia in Fredericksburg and you can tell the love right away. They are a franchise and this one is a cut above the rest. Our dog loves it and they have great structure set in place to keep the dogs safe, happy, and even have activities planned like the doggy art in which our pup did a painting by licking peanut butter off a ziplock which had a canvas with paint on it. He loves spending time with the dog coaches and his doggy friends.

We take our girl to dogtopia and she LOVES it there. She doesn't want to go home when I pick her up 🤣 I love that they have cameras for you to watch and they always doing a fun event. They have boarded my dog once, no problems. I would highly recommend this doggy daycare to anyone.

My four year mini schnauzer was well taken care of and happy while boarding at Dogtopia. He met other schnauzers and enjoyed playing with his new friends. I recommend Dogtopia in Fredericksburg, Virginia to all dog owners.

Treats employees badly as I have seen interactions with associates. The facility is often over extended and places employees in harms way as they are understaffed. I have witnessed that there is not enough space for dogs and often run out of crates. I would rather go to smaller facility where the dog is not just the almighty dollar... Addition: to response .... I didnt expect any less but snarky lack of accountability response . People are able to see with their eyes and hear interactions ... It is truly not a shocker that you brush off any unfavorable feedback! Try checking your database again ... As a business person maybe try being respectful and kind to others it goes along way to customers and associates. I provided honest feedback sorry it may have been a little too much for you :( I really dislike bullies and I think its important to highlight those experiences to improve .

My 2 year old goldendoodle comes home relaxed and tuckered out and the staff is great at providing updates and I trust that they provide him with support and attention while he is in their care.

I have been to a few different dogtopia franchises and this is by far the best location I’ve been to. We moved here from CA and my boys love it! They are so caring and attentive, which is not always the case. I love that they have so many events through the week to tire the pups out. I have 2 very high energy boys (goldendoodle and lab) and there’s never a day they come home and are still insane lol. Pickups are VERY busy, but organized. Drop off is easy and fairly seamless. The team is communicative if anything happens.

Wanye was great with both of my dogs! even for extended periods of time! Even though i know my dogs can be a handful, they were well taken care of and never left alone. Biscuits is definitely the way to go!

Since I started going back into the office for work, I didn’t want to leave my three dogs at home all day. Pawz Paradise Dog Daycare has been a lifesaver! The staff is super nice and care for your dogs as their own (even know them by name!). They always deal with me calling around lunchtime to check in on my fur babies. They also give me a breakdown on their day when I pick them up. I will continue to use them for daycare

Pawz Paradise is a reliable dog day care. The owner take his time out of his day to make sure everything is going in a way you are most comfortable with. I worked here before I moved and I loved it. So much fun and great experiences. If you are looking for a place for you dog I recommend.

Do not take your dogs here. We had scheduled to drop our dogs off at 6:30, when we arrived no one was there. We waited around until 7 before calling the owner. He stated that he had mixed the schedules up and that his employee would be there in 15 minutes. We waited another 40 minutes and no one showed up. He offered $20 off and free grooming for the inconvenience. Which we declined and left. It's a shame when you make an appointment at 6:30 and no one shows up until 8:00. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE!

I took my dog to their daycare and now my dog looks forward to it every week! The staff is very friendly and they are very accommodating to each dog. Along with that their prices are pretty good. 10/10 I would recommend to any dog parent!

Miserable, dingy, kennel with dogs whining in crates. Owner not present and only available by phone. Our reservation was for 9:00 am. When we arrived at 9:15, the door was locked and the attendant hadn't yet arrived. Seemingly, the dogs who were crated overnight hadn't been let out for a morning potty break. Very little display of care or affection.

Forgot about my dog. Left him 26 hours without food or bathroom break. Then did it again. And again. Didn’t seem to be bothered by the fact he endangers animals. The worst dog walker ever.

I’m extremely happy that PawzParadise accommodates my sporadic schedule and requests. Convenient and the nicest staffs. My dog behaved so well when she got home. Socializing helps. Thank you!

Owner and staff are very professional and provides flexible options that gives me and my family's pet reliable service from dog walking to daycare (when we are on vacation)! Highly recommend!
