After my third visit to this facility I am convinced that this is the place for my pup! The staff has been nothing but amazing and I feel my pup is well cared for and safe when in their care. As a graduate student at CSUS, I am constantly stressed for time. I scheduled my high energy 1.5 year old Labrador pup, MAC, for his first interview this past Monday and I have to say that my husband and I had a great experience with the staff that day. From check in to check out, the staff was friendly. Miko (spelling?) was the one who greeted us when we checked in, he took Mac for his assessment and then came out to let us know our boy fit right in and he was welcome to stay for the day. We watched the live cams throughout the day and saw our pup running around and playing with a ton of other dogs, which is what we wanted. It's great to be able to leave him somewhere to run off his pup energy in a safe environment. When I picked Mac up, another male staff member greeted me and let me know Mac did great. I know it's only been one day but we definitely will be using their daycare services soon, possibly even boarding and grooming. Thank you Camp Bow Wow EG!

We had a great experience at Elkgrove Bow wow. Our pup stayed 10 days. They gave our dog her medication and gave her a bath. I called midway into our trip to check in and they were very descriptive to put me at ease. Love Camp Bow Wow.First pup started coming here in 2015 and we have continued with our new family member 2023. Highly recommend them.

My dog has separation anxiety, but the staff takes the time, eveytime, to make sure he feels comfortable when we are dropping him off. They are very responsive to emails about vaccination updates. I really like that when I pick up my dog, regardless of how long he is there, he is bathed, content and has been well cared for. I can’t recommend country kennels enough! Our family sitter fell through less than a week before Christmas and when i called, they had space! We were so grateful! I was able to tour the facility and talk with staff when i was dropping off my dog. They also take cats which is a plus! They’re my new kennel home away from home!

Our dog had to be carried out of the facility by the staff because he didn’t want to leave LOL, I didn’t hear any complaints from the cat either. Courteous and professional they went above and beyond.

We've been taking our dogs to Country Kennels for years now we lov Patti and Chris so much they take such good care of our dogs. Once I let my dogs out of the vehicle they run straight for the gate. I love knowing my dogs are taken care of.

Our two dogs are not indoor animals so bringing them here is less disruptive. As soon as we drive up they get excited. Once they are on leashes they head straight for the gate. They are treated well and cared for. Great place to board our dogs!

The prices are reasonable and I can rest assured that my dog is being taken care of while I'm out of town. He always gets a ton of exercise and interaction with other dogs. He comes home and passes out for a day or two afterwards because of all the excitement.

Needed a last minute place for my pets while I went to San Francisco for a few days, and thankfully they had availability. I typically don't board my dogs, so I was a little worried about how they would do. Staff were very friendly when I dropped them off, and when I came to pick them up my dogs seemed very happy and not traumatized. What a relief. Happy to know this place is close by if I ever need it. Definitely recommend!

Badger Creek Kennels is seriously so amazing! I will never take my dog anywhere else. Pricing is very affordable (you won't find anything cheaper), the yard they play in is beautiful, and most importantly, your dog will have so much fun! My dog has an insane amount of energy and I know he enjoys himself very much. Very thankful to have found this place! I always know he is in good hands. Jeri and her team are excellent and take care of your pets like they are there own! We've been coming here for years now and they know our 2 dogs well. They ways great them with open arms and know they love to give hugs. They have indoor/outdoor kennels that are wonderful for our big dogs as they can run even when in their own kennels. They also get yard time with other dogs paired for their temperaments and style of play too. The first time there, they paired our dog and watched him to make sure he fit well! When we pick them up they are always tired from playing so much. I would highly recommend Badger Creek Kennels.

I am so thankful to have found Badger Creek Kennels!! I boarded my small dog for 4 nights. This was the first time my little chi came home happy and not nervous/clingy like she has previously with other boarding facilities. It was also the first time she actually ate her food while boarding. Jeri took such great care of her and was patient to answer all my questions and give personal attention to specific needs. My 2 dogs just had a wonderful experience over at Badger Creek Kennels this weekend! We were throwing our human son's birthday party and wanted the dogs to have a great day as well, not stuck in the garage while 6 year olds ran a muck in the house. Our vet recommended Badger Creek, saying they were family run and super reputable, and that's exactly the experience we had. The owner, Jeri, was so helpful on the phone alleviating any of my concerns (since this was their first "kennel" experience, especially the first for our rescue since her time in the shelter), and was consistently on point with which vaccinations were required (even calling our vet to confirm when we forgot to bring documentation for the latest shot). The dogs were happy when they got there, and so happy and worn out from running in the yard and having a blast that they didn't want to leave, and slept as soon as they got home! Since they did so well, I can't wait to bring them back so enjoy their days on the farm with Jeri and the other dogs. Bully-breed friendly for our 2 rescues! Thanks so much, Jeri! Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.

Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.

We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

The staff here is great! Our pup had an amazing day swimming here, we are planning on coming back for daycare :) (And I must say... It's so refreshing to find a place where pitbulls are treated equally!)

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!

My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!

Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!

They have been taking care of my loved ones for nearly 40 years. I've never boarded my dogs anywhere else and hope I never have to. They give great care and love and my dogs have fun there. And I have peace of mind.

Karla’s Pet Care does such a fantastic job! Our pets were frankly a nightmare while we were gone, the cat refused the litter box, the dog kept getting in the pantry and gave herself diarrhea. On top of that we had to keep changing our schedule and they rolled with all of it. They did a great job of keeping us informed while not stressing me out about my pets while I was on vacation. 10/10 highly recommend!

I loved this!! I'm always nervous about people being in my house when I'm not there but after the pre-visit my nerves were put to ease. Karla and Kayla are so nice and professional. Kayla is the one that took care of my fur babies when I was gone. She kept me updated with detailed daily check ins and pictures of them. I loved it and it made me feel so good that they were in great care. On top of all that she brought in my mail and took my garbage cans to the curb! It made a HUGE difference coming home late from a long trip and and not having to clean up cat litter, clean cat barf, or take the cans out etc. Thank you ladies for everything!!!

March 2021 update- Karla and her team continue to provide wonderful care. We started their new poop pickup service and it has been so helpful and convenient. Joe goes above and beyond and has communicated with us actively to address any concerns. I highly recommend! Karla and her team have been caring for our pets whenever we go out of town for over a year. They are easy to work with, friendly, and affordable. My favorite part is receiving an update and pictures of our pups each day during their care, so fun and comforting!

Best pet sit sitter you can wish for. Responsible and reliable

I used to be a loyal customer and highly recommended them, but I unfortunately can no longer support them after having a deeper understanding of their protocols. Before getting into the worst of it, I'd like to point out that they have astro turf which unsurprisingly causes dogs' feet to get irritated on hot days. In their report cards, they will simply say they noticed they were getting irritated and treated them, but probably won't tell you why unless you ask. I started as a client with my husky Freya. Unfortunately she died in their care due to unknown causes. Their story was she was outside and started having irregular breathing, so they took her inside where she collapsed and died. She was 9 and had glaucoma, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though she was otherwise a healthy dog who had no problems going on 3-5mile runs with me when the weather wasn't too hot. Looking back, maybe I should have been more skeptical. When I got another husky mix, Loki, I started boarding him there and he loved it. However after a little over a year of boarding him there with no major issues other than being an overly enthusiastic husky puppy, he developed a food aggression issue while in their care. Freya had some food aggression issues when I first got her and I have taken care of multiple dogs with the problem before, so I am very well educated on prevention and training for it. When I asked about their feeding protocols, they stated that they simply drop the food in front of the dog, leave the room for an hour, and then come back in to take it away to get pressure washed whether there is food left or not. When Loki first demonstrated food aggression, their response was to attempt to remove the bowl with their foot or a fake prosthetic hand. This is textbook what not to do and will absolutely CAUSE AND INTESIFY food aggression. When I pointed this out and suggested that they should implement standard sit/stay feeding protocol, use redirection techniques, or to not try to take the food bowl away while the dog is still in the room, their response was essentially that they don't have time to do that and don't want to train their staff in standard dog handling practices. They even commented that past customers have suggested the same thing. This tells me that they are entirely aware that their protocols can cause food aggression and that they refuse to do anything about it. Apart from this incident, Loki seemed to love all the workers I saw him interact with. They all looked on the younger side, but they were extremely friendly and positive. I just wish the owners cared enough to train them better.

From my work account 3 years ago: I have a Husky mix who’s a handful, mindful but energetic. The staff have always been patient and loving towards Luna. I feel blessed to live close enough to use Local Bark. Last year I traveled almost 70% of the time for work. If it wasn’t for them I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten by… EDIT: I have since moved to Midtown Sacramento so I no longer go there but or Pomeranian gets groomed at their Power Inn location "Response from the owner 2 years ago Oh Luna! 🤗 She keeps us on our toes and we love that crazy girl so much! Amazing staff. Reasonable prices. All types of services from Daycare and Boarding, to Grooming, to Day Training, Boarding School, and Puppy Prep School. THEY EVEN HAVE A WALK-IN POOL MADE SPECIAL FOR THE DOGS!! Large & Small Dogs are welcome, as well as PITBULL FRIENDLY!!! You can tell the staff LOVE dogs, and genuinely care about what they do. Very trustworthy, welcoming, and easy to leave your pets with. The girls at the front desk and attentive and polite, and make things like checking-in your dog, or providing any information needed about the business easy. I highly recommend The Local Bark for all your Dog Care, Boarding, Grooming, Training, and occasional swimming needs!

Our dog has a great time at Local Bark... always comes home happy and tired. It's awesome that they have a pool that he can enjoy, one of the reasons I picked Local Bark in the first place. The facilities appear to be very clean and the staff are always nice. Oh, and they post pictures every day on their facebook page... so it's fun to see what your dog has been up to. Definitely recommend!

We love the Local Bark! Our dog has been coming here since she was a puppy ( she is now 9! ). We don’t use it as often as we did in the past as their prices have gone up, but when we need care for her overnight this is our go to place. They have different sized “rooms” for the dogs to stay, all day play time out back and offer grooming services as well. Our dog is happy here!

There is nothing that excites our yellow lab, Austin, more than going to the Local Bark. I usually take Austin to the Local Bark, but the first time my husband took him he passed the turn to go in to the Local Bark. Immediately Austin started barking and vocalizing. We are sure he was saying, "Dad, you missed it! You missed it! Turn around! Turn around now!! Austin just graduated from their 18 day in house training. Ivyonnne is a great trainer and Austin has made great strides in his obedience and self control. The Local Bark is an absolutely wonderful place for dogs. Austin gives it five paws up.

My puppy is very energetic and needs to socialize more with doggy friends. This was his first day at his evaluation. It made my day when I saw his picture, he looks happy and looks like he's smiling. He was happy and very tired when I picked him up because he must have played a lot. I will definitely take him on a regular basis.

Editing my review after picking up my dog.I'm so happy I found a good boarding facility! The local bark is definitely a five-star place. My big mush of a pitbull really enjoyed her 13 night stay here over Christmas!I love the pictures I got to see on Facebook of her enjoying herself. I picked her up and she was so happy and clean, they gave her a bath for me. She's practically dancing in the waiting room while we were leaving. I like that the local bark has the most rigorous vaccine requirements in the areabecause my dog came home very healthy so I appreciate it! Also not much more expensive than any place around it's affordable in my opinion and they provide trusting and safe care for your dogs. Highly recommended I will definitely use again!

Chloe has been going to the Local Bark since she was 16 weeks old. She loves all the attention she gets from the staff and has a blast with the other dogs during Play Care and Overnight visits. Love them.

Barb and Don run a great facility and take very good care of your pets. I used O’Brien boarding when I relocated to California, and my dog/2 cats were well looked after during their long-term (4 weeks) stay. I will use them again - my border collie/lab mix was really happy there.

I’ve taken two of my Golden Retrievers to Don over the years and I cannot recommend this training facility enough! My dogs came back healthy, happy and with excellent manners, allowing them to become true family members in our household. While good natured and loving dogs, each of my pups was without impulse control and made simply walking them on a leash a serious chore. It’s beyond wonderful that in each of my training experiences with Don my dogs came back well behaved, listened to commands, didn’t yank my arms out of my sockets, stopped jumping on people and just basically became the dogs they were meant to be... loving family dogs with perfect manners! Thank you!!

We were so happy to have found the Obriens. They take good care of our Whippet and he loves getting to run around the fenced in exercise yard. The kennel is very nice and very clean. I would highly recommend the Obriens.

So disappointed, they refused to board our dog, not because they have ever even seen her. Not because she is bad in any way. Why? Because she is a Great Dane!!!! Thats right! It was assumed she would be to much to deal with because she a Great Dane. They are breedist! It took a week and an half of waiting for a call back for nothing. I am just discussed.

Genuine people who love and respect animals. Trustworthy and more affordable than all those city kennels! And they actually let the dogs out to run around on real grass!

I am so thankful to Vickie at BOW -WOW PET SITTING!!! I am the kind of dog mom that puts my 2 boys Doug and Rusty (dachshunds) above myself. I set my house up so that THEY are happy and comfortable. I have a low bed,, doggie ramps everywhere and there are dog toys all over. I would say that they are a little spoiled ❤️🐾🐾❤️ I only trust a few people with my dogs. I recently moved to Fair Oaks. I searched online for pet sitting and called Vicky, the owner of Bow-Wow pet sitting and boarding. I asked many questions. I then looked at her reviews on Yelp and decided that I would give her a call back. She was able to take my dogs the next day. She was so great! My dogs were barking and have separation anxiety. I immediately felt comfortable with Vicky. She is very kind and obviously loves animals. Her house is set up perfectly - she can separate dogs if necessary but still see them, they are not locked away in a closed room. She had a big wonderful yard to play in. When I picked up my boys they were happy and not stressed. Now they WANT to go there! Even though I'm done moving I intend to to take them to Vicky's at least once a week because they love her and I don't take them in the car and leave them when running errands. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VICKIE AND BOW -WOW PET SITTING!!! She is reasonably priced and very accommodating. ******************!!!!💕

I am appalled at the neglect and inhumane treatment of my dog. We left my dog Roxxy there for the weekend over 4th of July. We made sure they were aware she was a rescue dog with anxiety, and we were guaranteed that our dog would not be left alone during the fireworks. After we got our dog home, that night we realized her mouth was severally injured. Apparently, she had been left outside in a metal crate during fireworks while the owners of Bow Pow Pet sitting went to the liquor store, and tried to chew her way out causing the damage to her mouth. Multiple teeth had been broken off, her gums were destroyed and she had literally chewed so long and hard the bone of her jaw was damaged. We were never notified that our dog had been injured under their care, we had to wait to find out when we got her back, and with the extent of the injury being as bad as it was I have a hard time believing there were no signs of blood or injury when it happened. The surgery to fix my dog's mouth was over $3,500, which Bow Wow Pet sitting never even tried to repay. I felt the owners of Bow Wow pet sitting were unprofessional and down right negligent to have let this happen. To top it all off, after multiple complaints from us they still have pictures of my dog on their website, against my approval, to advertise their business. Usually I am not one to write angry online reviews but I feel strongly that they were negligent towards my dog.

My dogs were well taken care of in a family style environment. Both had individual needs and their needs were well taken care of. Was so pleased with the great care both dogs received! Recommend!
