Erica watched my senior dog and cat for 12 days while I was traveling internationally. She was organized, responsive, and took excellent care of both my animals and my apartment while I was away. She sent me photos during the stay and my pets absolutely adored her. She has watched my pets before and I always trust her to take excellent care of them. Traveling internationally and leaving my pets in the care of a sitter always makes me a little nervous, since I won't always be immediately reachable. However, Erica's communication and obvious competency made me feel very comfortable about leaving my pets in her care while I was away. It's very obvious she adores spending time with the pets and caring for them. I came home to a clean apartment and very happy and healthy pets. I would highly recommend Erica for any of your sits!
My dog had a medical emergency while in John’s care and I credit him with saving my pup’s life. You couldn’t ask for a better sitter in a pressure situation. He also communicated regularly during the stay, keeping me posted on how my pup was doing. Would recommend John to anyone who needs a sitter they can trust.
Janet and Bob were great to our pups and our home! They were our first sitters so we weren’t really sure what we were getting into, but they made it an awesome experience! They are coming back to stay with our dogs again in August. Definitely trust them with your fur babies!! 🐾🐶
Jasmine is a five-star sitter. She is everything you want in a sitter when you go away and leave your beloved pet and home. She is reliable, communicative, respectful, and flexible. We had no worries about our dog or home while we were away, and will be having Jasmine sit for us again soon. Our home was immaculate when we got home, and our dog was obviously well-cared-for. Can't say enough good things about this wonderful human.
I’m sure most folks say the nicest things about their sitter, but honestly, if there were a “super star” status available then Denise would win the prize as sitter of the year! From the start, Denise was an excellent communicator. While we were still in the decision phase, Denise was always available to chat either by FaceTime, telephone or text. It was so easy to choose Denise; as you can see from her countless 5 star reviews, she truly is the only pet sitter you’d ever need and the one everyone hopes to have. Denise came to our house eager to meet us, our pets and the quirks of our house. Denise has an excellent sense of humor and immediately put us all at ease. Our pets took to her as if she was a long lost friend (even our finicky Siamese cat was loving on her from the start). While we were gone, our dog had a non-emergency health issue come up and just like that Denise was taking her to our vet, and administered the dog’s meds like a champion (Denise is also a nurse BTW). Additionally, Denise brought our pup to her scheduled groom appointments and even made future appointments for us to make our return home as seamless as possible. Denise was even above and beyond helpful to our neighbors and they appreciated her giving them access to our refrigerator when theirs broke down on Thanksgiving Eve! When we got home we were super impressed by how perfectly immaculate our house was! Most sitters leave the house clean, but Denise met and may have even exceeded our military standards of clean and orderly. Seriously, our house felt like we never left it. Everything was spotless, shinny and clean. She didn’t miss a beat!! Our pets were so happy to see us but honestly, I felt like our pup and kitty were disappointed when we walked in the door (I believe they were expecting to see Denise!). Haha. If you are ever fortunate enough to have Denise apply for any of your sits then I can’t recommend her enough. Seriously, you can stop reviewing applicants and just go with Denise. She was awesome in every sense of the word and I hope she’ll come back and stay with our pets again.
Robyn was a great pet sitter and house sitter. She went way over and beyond my expectations!!!! She sent a photo of her and my dogs and they were looking at her like they were in love. And my cats are not very friendly, but she won them over also. I would highly recommend Robyn as a pet sitter and house sitter. She is a very sweet lady. I would love to have her watch my babies again and again.
Care and compassion for my dogs was at the top of the list of John's attributes. He was the first sitter I have used through zeewoi that was close enough to come meet the dogs before the sit. John not only came for an initial meet and greet, but he made time to meet the pups a second time prior to my departure to better familiarize himself with both the dogs and my home. Having put the fear of God in him about Penny's reactivity (I might have been a bit over the top, but better more attentive than less!), he was cautious with her in the beginning. Later in the sit, they trooped off to the beach on multiple occasions - all good! My 10-yr-old was on some meds for a serious battle with arthritis, and John managed Cooper's needs beautifully. John even made a call and a trip to the vet to re-up Coop's prescription when it was clear he needed to continue the protocol. I received daily updates by text, including photos and video; communication is hugely important to me. I feel blessed to have had John care for my fur-babies.
To this list of attributes I would add flexible, capable, sensitive, extremely good with the dogs even if one of mine is sometimes a little ornery, and just a wonderful person all around. Because of constantly changing circumstances due to a move and coronavirus, my dogs ended up spending not two weeks but a whole month with John and they were so comfortable and happy. John helped them in so many ways and coordinated shipping them overseas, he went above and beyond the wildest stretches of what a house sitter entails and did it with a smile and a laugh and reassurances that all would be well. And indeed he was absolutely right - the dogs arrived so well cared for that all my fears of them being traumatized went out the window. John’s flexibility, and his kindness as well as his impeccable maintenance of my house in my absence all make me recommend him an absolute 10 out of 10. Thank you John for all your help this summer!! Lisa
Alia is awesome and we have used her several times. She is a 5 star rated sitter every time. The dogs are happy and the house is perfect when we get home. She even cooked dinner for our arrival home because we came home late. Highly recommend Alia!!
You could not ask for better house and pet sitters than Ken and Jane! Before the sit: Communicating with Ken and Jane prior to our scheduled week went smoothly. They were proactive about planning. They came out to the house prior to the sit and spent a couple of hours going over things about the house, meeting the pets, and getting familiar and comfortable with everything. They were delightful people to meet; I was wishing for a couple of days to just hang out and play tourist with them! During the sit: Ken and Jane sent me daily updates and photos of their outings with my pups and with their interactions with my kitties. I appreciated how they chose the sit partly because of their love of exploring rural areas, because that's what I have here! They were perfectly suited to my home and pets. Ken absolutely loves cats and is an intuitive and experienced kitty-handler. Jane really bonded with one of my kitties; both of them made great progress with all three of my cats, each of which is pretty shy at first, and one can be a real problem child. They worked very hard to give love to each pet and ensure that each felt calm, happy, and cared for. They spend tons of time outdoors with my border collie/retrievers. The dogs had daily "spa time" after walks and outdoor playtime, having their long fur brushed on my front porch (which the dogs love!). They sent me happy photos every day. If anything came up, they just handled it. They really seemed to enjoy their adventures and the pets each day, which made my time away that much more enjoyable. After the sit: I was thankful to have some time with Ken and Jane when I returned from my trip. All the pets were calm, happy, and healthy when I got home. Ken and Jane had left me a detailed note about that last day to make re-entry easy. They sweetly left a thank you note and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table also (a very sweet and unexpected surprise!). They seemed quite sad to leave my "kids;" Jane left with tears in her eyes, saying goodbye to my dogs. We've kept in touch since the sit. My whole house really misses them. Oh, and the house was immaculate and plants all watered (inside and out) when I got home! If you're looking for kind, competent, caring, organized and responsible people to care for your home and pets, invite Ken and Jane!

Leaving our dog for the first time while we went on vacation was really tough for my family and me. We were worried about finding someone we could trust to take care of him. That’s when I came across a place called Furever Friends on social media and thought we’d give them a try. Right from the beginning, their staff was very welcoming and friendly. They quickly answered all our questions, which made us feel much more relaxed. While we were away, they sent us photos and updates about our dog, Chewie. It was such a relief to know he was being well cared for. We’re definitely planning to return and may even send him to daycare just so he can play with other dogs for fun!
I was a nervous wreck when I had to board my dog for the first time. Furever friends eased all my worries, always sent a reply when I asked for updates. Every photo that was sent showed how much fun my girl was having! I would definitely board with them again! And Denali loved it too!
My dog loves going to Furever Friends for daycare and boarding. He always has a great time playing with his friends and getting lots of attention. They have many special events and are even available for dog birthday parties. It’s conveniently located near Fort Shafter. They also board cats which is a huge convenience to be able to take both pets to the same place when I need to go out of town.
Furever Friends is a great place for your furry family to have a staycation while you’re on vacation. We’ve used them for years. Wendy and her team have taken good care of our furry family while we traveled abroad. Conveniently located on Ahua St in the Mapunapuna area on Oahu.
We love Furever Friends for daycare and boarding. We received updates, photos, and knew that our dog was in good hands while we were away. Communication is easy and consistent and our dog is all smiles when she leaves. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to safely leave your dog.
My Pua always stays at Furever Friends when I am traveling. They take care of him really good and he always happy over there! He is a senior dog and not many boarding place accepts seniors, but Furever Friends always welcomes him. Thank you for making him happy!!
We are so glad we found Furever Friends. Our beagle loves going there. We've used them a couple of times for daycare and once (so far) for a "Staycation". The dogs are so well cared for. The staff I have dealt with have been professional, and caring. It is clear they love dogs. Their rates are reasonable and they are very upfront about the costs.
I had a fantastic experience at Furever Friends Play and Stay. The staff truly cares about the animals and goes above and beyond to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay . The facilities are clean, well-equipped and offering different fun activities providing a welcoming environment for pets of all sizes My fur baby Shelby enjoyed playtime and socialization with other pets. I also appreciated the regular updates and photos sent while I was away, which gave me peace of mind. Overall, Furever Friends Stay and Play is a wonderful place for pet owners looking for quality care. Highly recommended!
We’ve entrusted our dog Toby with Alea and her wonderful staff at Furever Friends for over 8-years, for both short and lengthy stays, and continue to appreciate the care, safety and attention they provide to our loving dog/family member.
We had the best experience having our Jack Russell Terrier Lula play and stay at Furever Friends. The kindness of the staff make us feel worry free when we go on vacation. Leaving Lula at Furever Friends feels like leaving her with family who care for her and love her as much as we do! Highly recommend their services!
We had a somewhat last minute change of Christmas plans. They took our dog Christmas eve and we were able to pick her up on Christmas day! very accommodating. The space was set up so well and really close to 101 off exit 5! 5 stars!! Thank you 🙏 …
Brenden has been a lifesaver for us and our new puppy!! He has been very flexible with our needs and schedules. I love the pics and updates during the visits! It’s obvious animals are his passion!
I boarded my 2 older special needs dogs ( the 18 year old one is blind and deaf, and the 14 year old is on a ton of meds which he doesn't like to take) with Crystal for the first time in May while we were traveling. Crystal was very warm and welcoming to us and our dogs on our meet and greet. She's gentle, patient and loving with them. She took exceptional care of my dogs. They looked relaxed and happy roaming around the enclosed yard. She sent pictures and videos often so I could see how they doing. They were able to adjust back to home so easily too, compared to when we had to board them at the vets. She has a little Casita that has a bed, tv, and AC, plus your own bedding for the dogs so she can spend the night with them and keep them company. She even washed their blankets before pick up and painted a picture using their foot prints. How sweet is that! I will definitely use Kahu Pets 808 again, and in fact have already booked them again for our next trip. This time I plan to board a third dog my Rottie- yes, also special needs (congenital vision issues). I can't recommend Crystal enough!
The Dogwalker Etc. experience is AWESOME! 🤩 from start to finish, everything was perfect! We love the portal where the Dogwalker posts pictures, writes notes, records on multiple topics (poop, per, water refill, meds administered etc). SO AMAZING!! The meet-n-greet the day before was easy to do and hardly took any time at all. The staff know what they’re doing and are friendly- super easy to work with! 10 outta 10 recommend !! 🙌
Loved them while we had a walker for our area in Aiea. Then he moved off island and they don’t have enough staff( look online it appears they have plenty but I’d say that’s very very inaccurate). 5 star for his care during short time we had him. Negative -1 for not having a replacement and/ or viable option and time offering needed.
We love the staff and people at Dog Walking Etc. They are all so genuinely great with our dog. I especially like the fact that when we board our dog, he stays at the host’s home and not a kennel. He gets to interact with the host family and pets. They all go walking and playing together which he loves and I like getting daily updates with pictures. We initially used DWE to have our dog walked weekly along with weekly field trips. He gets so excited as he waits for his outings. When his walker arrives, he gets super excited. See picture below on how he greets his walker. When he’s done and returned home, he is one happy and tired dog which is exactly what our German Shepard needs. We are so happy to have found DWE.
Don’t let the name fool you! If you’re looking for a cat sitter look no further than Dogwalker etc!! We are so grateful to have Erin and her awesome team of cat lovers for our two babies Stiker and Goldie. It’s clear that the company loves all animals but we felt very confident in their abilities for cats specifically. We traveled recently for spring break and had the Dog Walker team come in twice a day every day for two weeks. They did everything from cleaning & feeding to playtime to grooming and also taking care of our house too. We came back and found everything better than we left it. Thank you so much to Dogwalker etc and the whole team!
I highly recommend dog walker etc! =D It’s hard to leave my guy and go to work but it’s so nice when I get a photo in the middle of the day of him having fun with Katie. Thank you guys!!
I’ve used dogwalker etc a few times for their dog walking services and dog sitting when we went on trips. It’s such a great service, they handle my difficult terriers (terrors) very well and the owner even came out once to assist the sitter with learning how to manage my dog. Coming from someone who has been turned away from doggy daycare, this was greatly appreciated!!! My dogs are very high energy, and intelligent, hence why I need a service. I also felt very comfortable leaving the island in this companies care, we got updates daily with photos, which is a nice touch. I will use this service again for sure.
We hired Ruth from Dogwalkers to doggie sit our fur baby while we were in Japan. We were super nervous since this was the first time leaving her with a stranger and we were out of country. Ruth is THE BEST. Rachael, the owner walked me through the process, gathered info and matched us up with Ruth. Ruth also came highly recommended by our neighbors. Our fur baby is very shy, so we hired Ruth to walk her before our trip to become familiar with Ruth. Ruth writes great detailed reports and the service includes daily photos which is great and comforting. Ruth even took out our trash bin and recycle bin and played with our fur baby. They really bonded. Ruth is great with animals. Ruth and Dogwalkers are pretty flexible about told return date in case of flight delays so your fur baby won’t be left hanging by themselves. We will definitely hire Ruth for future trips!
I have used Dogwalker ETC! on two different occasions and have been very happy with their service. The daily communication between the caregiver and pet owner is excellent. The staff are very professional and trustworthy. I felt at ease immediately after meeting the two people assigned to watch my pets and highly recommend this company and these wonderful, caring people.
When we took a trip in 2019, we needed someone to take care of our little girl for about 10 days. We found the perfect people who took excellent care of her! Misha was about 5 years old and this would be the first time we would be away for that length of time. Of course, we were concerned and apprehensive about how she would adjust in our absence. To our delight, she loved being with the dog sitter! The sitter would email videos of her daily activities and this gave us great comfort seeing her so content and happy. The personnel are so caring and genuine in making sure that your furry child is given the best care and they are also very professional. Highly recommended to entrust your dog in their care.
We used Dogwalker Etc for 9 days while away on a trip. Our girl was well taken care of, Ms. Sharee did an excellent job spending time and writing solid reports on how our dog was doing in our absence. I met Sharee before our trip and felt at ease with her. I explained to her all that was required, (you also write care instructions on their web portal) and we walked the usual route with my girl. I warned Sharee of all the neighborhood dogs that are possibly hostile and have broke off their leash in the past. I also warned Sharee that my dog could slide out of her collar (she's done so in the past) so beware of that, and that also my dog has bolted out of the house and went straight to the neighbor's dog that they keep tied up in the yard which I've been very leery of becoming unhinged at a blink of an eye. It can be nerve-wracking to leave your home and your pet to someone you just met, but Sharee was very professional and had been with the company for a long time so that put my mind at ease. Also, our dog is very strong, and I was a little worried that she would pull too hard down our stairs for someone unaccustomed to handling a larger dog, but Sharee has had a lot of experience with many types of dogs, and I felt confident that our girl was no issue for her. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a pet sitter, and they are trustworthy. I will definitely use them again in the future.
We love Richard. He is so knowledgeable about dogs because he was a veterinarian technician before he opened his doggie daycare. My little doggie gets all excited when he knows he’s going to see Richard and his doggie friends ♥️
Richard and his wife are amazing. We were going on a trip and needed boarding for Molly, who was just a pup. To be honest, I was a hesitant because it’s so expensive! This is true with boarding in general, not specific to Barks and Purrs. Molly went for a trial stay and she passed the test. We left for our two week vacation and returned to a very happy dog. Richard and his wife took such good care of her. You could just tell by the way she was interacting with them. They gave us all the updates on her activities and behaviors. Worth every penny. Would not hesitate one second to hire Richard and his wife to care for Molly while we are away.
Barks and Purrs has been a five star experience for my very senior dog, Latté and me. When I pick her up after work she is always relaxed and content after a day of socializing and TLC. Richard's knowledge and rich experience in veterinary medicine and pet handling is reassuring - he knows exactly what to do if there's an emergency and is qualified to offer helpful advice and therapeutic services. The location is convenient with ample parking. Thank you, Barks and Purrs, for a big improvement in my dog's overall condition!
I was going to be out of town for a couple of weeks and was hesitant to board my epileptic dog in a vet kennel for that long but at the same time didn't want to pay so much for each dose of my dog's medications for other pet sitters. After weighing all of the options on Oahu (and Maui), I decided on Barks and Purrs and definitely felt this was the best decision for my dog. Having worked in a veterinary environment, Richard was very comfortable with my dog's condition and send me very detailed text with the time, duration, symptoms, and post-seizure behavior of my dog, giving me the peace of mind I needed while out of town. He also let our kids visit her while we were out of town which was very accommodating of him. My dog made new dog friends and was in great hands with Richard and his wife, and she is even a little better behaved after being socialized with his "pack." Thank you, Barks and Purrs!
Richard is awesome! He provides a safe and secure place for dogs. Our 9 month old puppy loves it here and we pick her up happy and tired! We're really glad to have found Barks and Purrs.
We chose Barks and Purrs once we found out it was operated by Richard. He used to work for our vet and took care of our cats and dogs. He genuinely cares for all animals and has a calming animal whisperer personality- definitely recommend as we are truly happy with his services and our dogs are well cared for.
Excellent care for your pet! I feel our dog gets a vacation. I think some folks use the day care services just because the environment is good for the pet. Tip: Plan ahead. They are always super busy.
Our dogs stay was beyond what we could have imagined. We brought our dog over for surgery from Kauai. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, our dog needed to stay an additional week longer than planned. Richard was amazing. Not only did he allow for our dog to stay with zero hesitation, He messaged us photos and communicated daily knowing both our dog and our family missed one another. Richards wife even came to give our dog more love and attention. We are forever grateful. 🐾💙
We can’t say enough about how much we love Barks and Purrs! We have used both the boarding and doggie day care services. We currently have two rescue dogs and Richard did a miraculous job socializing them to get along with each other and with other dogs! I would highly recommend Barks and Purrs to all my family and friends!!
This place is a very clean and nice cozy place. Richard is very helpful and kind to our cat. When I first walked in to the place, I was surprised that I didn't smell any pet store type of odor even though there were many dogs. He kept the place very clean. We were so impressed. My cat is not a easy cat, but Richard can handle magically. This place is very reliable so we will definitely come back!!
I was very nervous to leave my kitty for 3 weeks at a boarding facility since it was going to be his first time being away from me for that long & he’s not super socialized (he only knows myself & my dog). Let me start by saying The on boarding process was very easy & fast. Tails of Hawaii also is priced really well (I did my research of boarding facilities before booking). & it was super convenient because the facility is 5 minutes away from my home. Upon drop off, I noticed it was very clean & well kept, the staff was very friendly & reassuring. Through out my kitty’s stay the staff sent me pictures, updates, & health updates during the entire time. It looked like my kitty had a great time socializing with other people & did well in his new environment. Tails of Hawaii really gave me peace of mind knowing my kitty was being well looked after & because of that I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely be back for any more future boarding needs & recommend them To anyone! Thank you again tails of Hawaii for taking care & looking after my kitty!
I had to move myself, 3 dogs, and 2 cats from Hawaii to two separate cities in Ohio and I was such a wreck. My pets are my family! I almost went with another company but they had poor communication and kept sending the wrong itineraries which gave me such anxiety. I reached out to Happy Tails and they were super quick to get back to me and got the different itineraries right the first time and really did their best to put my worries to rest. They came to pick my pets up from my house and didn’t even bat an eye at how much I was crying saying goodbye to them. Needless to say, all my pets landed safely at their correct destinations and I am so thankful for all their help! They sent me updates and pictures of everyone during their pre-flight boarding stay. They paid attention to all the small details I sent about all my pets different quirks. I highly recommend using Happy Tails if you have to move your pets. They really made something that was so stressful and seemed so complicated to orchestrate with 5 different pets and 2 different locations so seamless. 10/10!!
Tails has allowed my Chocolate lab “Nani” to socialize with others providing caring staff to help her grow. We are grateful for the webcams that allow me to periodically check on Nani throughout the day to observe her activity. The piece of mind knowing she is in a safe environment. I place my trust in the staff at Tails to care for a part of my family that we treat as our own child now that our children have grown and moved away. I did have an incident which Nani ingested possibly a rubber piece which Tails helped to monitor her during that period to ensure if her poop contained additional pieces since she was not eating. I know that “Nani” could get into mischief and also becomes snippy considering she is a rescue that has experienced Trauma. However, Tails monitors and reports her day. Nani comes home exhausted from a full day of playing and when we reach the store. she is wagging her tail and not putting on the brakes as we enter. We attended the 2024 Pet Fair in Mililani and I was hesitant about bringing her out in the public with other dogs and their owners. Nani allowed people to pet her and she was wagging her Tail the entire time. Thank You Tails!
Just completed the meet and greet. My senior dog seems to be very relaxed and happy. Because of his health and senior status, he was rated under a non social status. Environment of the lobby was very clean and neatly kept. Would have loved a pre tour of the kennels. Just to observe. Looking forward to his boarding.
We have been with them for almost 8 years. They have been a lifesaver. Our dog is not very sociable as he's almost 11 years old! But with time and patience they have mixed him in with other dogs. Still not real sociable but he is mingling with them and that made us EXTREMELY HAPPY. He wants to mingle but not sure how to. He LOVES all his aunties and uncles. Be board him periodically, which he's not real happy about, but it gives us a peace of mind knowing he is well cared for there. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tails of Hawaii.
I am so thankful for Tail Movers! I was so stressed out about getting our dog to the mainland because no flights could get him all the way to where we needed him to go. Plus he needed multiple comfort stops.. I am so thankful for this company. They made the process so easy for us and they even set up a taxi to deliver our dog directly to my in-laws house. I would give 10 stars if I could.
I’m always nervous when going out of town and leaving my dogs in the care of someone else. However they took great care of my dogs. I loved their live feed every so often I would get a glimpse of them. Seeing them running around having fun made my feel so much better know my dogs were having a great time and being well cared for.
This place is great... They helped with getting my dog used to others and making friends. We're definitely make this a regular thing.
Recently had our two labs do a meet and greet with ToH. The staff was helpful and explained what would be done and what would be evaluated. Having the online portal definitely streamlines the process. Looking forward to having our pups boarded at this facility. Very convenient and only a few minutes from the house. Definitely appreciate the military/veteran discount for boarding.
PCSing to the mainland, and I am so happy with the help that Tails of Hawaii gave us. They answered all of our questions and kept us updated along our fur babies trip. Everyone I came across was super friendly as well. I definitely recommend Tails of Hawaii, especially if moving. They help take away the stress and everything was simple.
Lori is the best! We have used her over five years -- she is a God send! She is totally reliable and extremely flexible -- especially when we have unexpected events come up. We wouldn't trust our mutts with anyone else. She treats them like family. If you're looking for someone to take care of your pets -- don't hesitate to use Kailua Pet Sitters!
We cannot imagine life without Lori! She has been caring for our beloved pets since 2009 with daily visits and treats them like her own. She also looks after our pets and our home when we are on vacation. Lori is so dependable, trustworthy, caring and always goes the extra mile for us. We started out with one large dog, added a smaller dog, then a bird, and a then cat. All of the animals LOVE LORI! Even our very shy tortie cat makes an appearance when Lori visits. Our small dog, and even our large dog (when she was alive) waited by the door when it was around the time for Lori to visit. Lori has helped us in a pinch and is always available to help when we call or text her. She is AMAZING and you will not be disappointed with her services!
Got Poo...They are the best!!! If you love your pet and we all do, got poo is the go-to service to ensure your pet (our dogs) are well cared for and loved. Excellent, Professional, Caring service. We use twice a week to get a break. Both of our mutts go absolutely crazy when they hear their care giver coming up the stairs. They just love Kahea and Aerial. When we are away on vacation we use them everyday, to ensure our dogs are well cared for. Top Shelve, highly recommend.
Ali and her team take such good care of our baby when we’re gone. We have zero travel guilt because he has such a good time without us! We met Ali walking another dog in our neighborhood and we were very impressed with her expert behavioral knowledge and ability to calmly walk typically excited dogs. She has helped us become better dog parents and we can’t say enough wonderful things.
I was very sorry to see the recent negative comment about this business. I have absolutely no dog in this fight Lol 😂, as I am just a very satisfied client of Got Poo. I believe that there must be some reason someone is posting negative comments just to sabotage this business. I would like to add an unbiased opinion! I have been a client for about a year and have never had any issues with Ali. Any questions or concerns have gotten immediate attention. I trust Ali implicitly with my home and especially, my two cavaliers. She is, in my opinion, a wonderful person and a compassionate, loving dog trainer. I have always been able to count on her and when I haven’t been as reliable, she has been very understanding.
I’ve used Got Poo service for over 10 years now. I have 3 pups and with out their services, I don’t think that I could keep up with the yard due to my lung disorder. I also don’t have to worry when I go to the mainland, that my yard will be crazy when I get back
Can't say enough positive things about Got Poo? Pet Waste Removal & Pet Services. Owner Ali is responsible, knowledgeable about dog behaviors, provides them with the exercise they need, and accommodating with clients. I boarded my dog with her for a couple of months and felt super confident that my Marla was in good, loving hands. She trains/encourages her staff to provide the best possible care and exercise for each individual dog. We are lucky to have her in our dog community.
Love love love Got Poo! I have 2 English bulldogs. Leaving them when I go out of town is a big challenge because they're a little high maintenance and need a good amount of attention. Got Poo has taken care of them on 2 occasions and they are wonderful! Kept me updated every day with photos and how they were doing and really went above and beyond to make sure they were loved and had everything they needed. Highly recommend Ali and her team!
I have used Got Poo? for approximately 2 years and have been absolutely amazed at the service. Ali and her walkers are responsive, responsible, and so loving with my babies. My two fur babies look forward to their walks and are totally "pooped" when they get home (that's a good thing!) Ali has always addressed my concerns or questions immediately and while she is a very professional businessperson, she also truly cares about our pets and their families.
We have been using Got Poo for almost three years when I was injured and unable to walk the dogs. We have continued to use them because we are so happy with their service, professionalism and love to see the dogs happy and truly benefiting from their walks. They are professional, readily available and flexible when we have needed to adjust walk times. Highly recommend!
What started out as a decent endeavor to walk one of my canines home due to longer business hours then normal over the last few months unraveled many holes, hiccups and high level of lack of transparency with the service and owner. First, they have a good deal of training staff that will have foot traffic in your place. We have had at least 5 people now in the home in less than two months. Staffing is a challenge nowadays and no getting around that. Yet, if you are training staff and bringing them to a new clients home regularly, which entails; shared security access information and more, it’s not too much to share that’s what you will be doing and asking for approval, verse just doing it and not advising at all. The time of walks are advertised at 30 and 45 minutes. We asked for 30 but got 45 for the first week of 3 or 4 walks. Of course when we learned this we inquired why and it was an oversight on the owners side and said sorry we will do 30. Instead of charging for the 30 we asked for originally we were charged the full 45 until it’s switched. Luckily I caught it early. We have cameras and security so we know everything. Advertising a walk time of 30 and 45 minutes one would expect that is the walk time or close. No, it is certainly not. You are not getting that walk but a 20-25 for the 30 and a 35-40 for the 45 minute advertised walks. Yes it makes sense in part why, but that is not the point in honest advertising. Simply say and advertise that there is aprox 5 minutes time it takes to open and close a door and so on. Even though it take less than 2 minutes. In my camera and security reviews on average it was 10 minutes less walking overall. Lack of transparency again. None of this was explained prior or can be found on the website either. Only after the fact when we inquired about it. And there is more: Walker takes our key home with them. Did not return it for 4 days. New walker uses bathroom toilet a few times. Leaves seat up every time and empty’s all our tissue box. Our alarm was set off at least 4 times. Our door was left open unlocked on at least one occasion maybe twice. Our door key code lock stopped working during their tenure. There’s more but this sheds enough light on the overall service, lack of transparency, communications and just plain poor staff training methods instilled.
Ali and her team have always provided care, love, and joy to our dog when she has stayed. Moving to the island where we have no family to board our dog, we were hesitant and put off travel due to not having or trusting anyone. We found her company through our neighbors great reviews and booked our pup’s stay right away. 6 months later, we use her every time we travel. She has taken our pup as her own and shown so much love. We greatly appreciate her business!
Beware, these two don’t seem to like dogs or have the temperament to handle them. We were looking to board our dogs while we went away on a trip. Went to drop them off and our timid dog was a bit cautious. The woman and man appeared to be in a rush. He rushed over to our dog and put the choke collar on him and told me to take off his harness and collar. He proceeded to yank our dog by his neck and our dog continued to refuse to go with him. I asked him to stop and he continued even as I tried to take the leash out of his hand. I asked him if I could walk our dog down to the kennel area and the woman said “no it will make it worse. We know what we are doing ma’am.” Finally after multiple pleas for him to stop choking our dog he got mad and walked off saying he didn’t want to watch the dog anyway. These two do not seem to like dogs or know how to handle them. They also do not want to listen to people about their own dogs. Glad we ultimately didn’t leave our dogs with them.
We have been customers for over three years. Nalowinds is very safe terrific for dogs of all sizes. Owner, Bonnie, understands dogs and their healthcare. Great price considering all the extras. To learn more, I suggest telephoning Bonnie.
Bonnie & Wayne & NaloWinds Kennels are wonderful. They are caring and skilled, and provided safe, clean, comfortable accommodations for my dog. I needed to board my large dog, who is fear reactive and has trust issues with people, while I had surgery. Bonnie asked questions that made me realize she understands dogs and would be able to board my dog. The day I dropped my dog off, Wayne showed the confidence around her that showed she would be safe. My recovery from surgery was complicated and I needed my dog to be boarded over twice as long as planned, and they were able to accommodate her. The day I picked my dog up I was able to watch as Wayne walked her up from the kennels. My dog walked comfortably on the lead beside Wayne. My dog receive excellent care. I would give NaloWinds Kennels & Bonnie & Wayne highest stars and recommendations to anyone who needs to kennel their dog.
I recently kenneled my four Rottweilers at The Nalowinds Kennel in Waimanalo. They were here for a total of nine days in April 2014. Bonnie and Wayne took very good care of my animals and I am extremely satisfied with their facility and their service. I will using them again next month. They washed my dogs for me which I did not expect but appreciated. I would recommend Nalowinds without any reservations whatsoever.
Don't ever leave your pets with these people, check out Yelp review before you decide. You can never be too careful with your pet. Beware of the owners, they are not animal lovers, all they see are dollar signs. When we dropped off our dogs that morning, the male (Wayne) took out a choke chain and drag our dogs away. Sadly it was too late for us to find another kennel because our flight was within hours. When we picked up our dogs a week later, their fur came off by chunks. We learned later it was due to extreme stress. What's more? They do not welcome friends or family members to visit pets trapped in their hands, saying they need at least 6 to 24 hours notice. What's the big deal unless they have something to hide??!!
Warning to people who think this is a good place with your animals, think again! Don't let the 4 - 5 star reviews FOOL you. We were introduced to this boarding kennel by our vet (Makai Animal Clinic) and thought maybe these people could be trusted with our four dogs, so we boarded them for a week. We brought our own food, toys & favorite blankets & were promised by Bonnie & Wayne that our dogs would be in "good hands". They seemed nice and sincere and asked for payment in advance. The dogs were so happy to see us when we picked them up a week later but I could see the sadness in their eyes. When we patted them, all of their hairs came off by chunks. We didn't think of anything then but we learned later that it was due to extreme stress. By the time we all got home, all 4 dogs rushed to their water bowl and started drinking & drinking and drinking for 5 - 6 minutes. We just can't believe how thirsty they were!!! How could people running a kennel NOT providing enough water to the poor animals trapped in their hands? Bonnie & Wayne's rates were not cheap by any matter of means but they simply did not want to waste their time or water to spray the kennels. The best solution was to restrict animal's water supply. How cruel & inhumane! These people were definitely NOT animal lovers, all they see are dollar signs. To all pet owners: Since your animals can't talk, you need to be EXTRA CAREFUL. The Operator/Owner may seemed nice but you never knew what's inside of them. I see all these people rating them 5 stars, hello! Only if your pet could talk then you will know the truth.
If you're looking for a place to board your dog look no further!!! Awesome place, huge yard for your dog to get exercise, air conditioned kennel with raised beds so your dog isn't laying on the concrete.... Awesome people, we know our dog is safe when we're away 🐕 …
Bonnie has been "Aunty" to many of my dogs, currently my 2 gentle giants, George and Grace. The care is wonderful and the exercise yard is a bonus for my Irish Wolfhounds. They know and love dogs.
I boarded my puppy there once before now and would not board him anywhere else!! The facilities are clean and well maintained. I love the location, the cost is affordable and the owners/operators are friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
I was very pleased with their responsiveness and apparent caring for my dog.
We recently boarded our adopted dog, Winnie, at Kama’aina K9 while we were away for a week, and we couldn’t be happier with how it went. Since it was our first time boarding her, we were a little nervous, but the staff was so great and made us feel comfortable right away. The every-other-day “Woof Reports” with photos and updates were so cute! It was such a relief to see Winnie looking happy, excited, and having fun with other dogs. Daily updates would’ve been nice since it was our first time overnight without her, but the ones we got were still super reassuring. When we picked her up, she was her usual energetic self, which let us know she was well cared for the whole time. The team made everything so easy, and we’ll definitely be bringing her back. Highly recommend Kama’aina K9 if you need a safe, loving place for your pup!
My pup Waffles has been going here for years- and it’s her weekly interaction with other dogs in a wide open area- she loves it! They are always kind to her (I ask her every time about her visits) and she gets photos and new friends to play🥰. They have gone next level care for us due to unforeseen circumstances and we appreciate that they do so, because they really do care for our pups. Thank you Kama’aina! We appreciate all of you! *pics from Kama’aina k9!!! Thank you!!
Our dog, Charlie, stayed for two weeks while we traveled to the mainland. We received progress reports with photos every other day. We loved that they provided enrichment activity and socialization that we can’t provide at home. We felt like he was in great hands!! They gave him a bath before we picked him up, and their process was quick & easy. In the past we have boarded Charlie at his veterinary clinic. He spent most of his time in a cage/kennel with potty breaks outside. Kama’aina K9 Adventures gave him a much better experience with fun activities and lots of outdoor play.
From first contact with them to picking my dogs up was super easy and convenient. All of the staff that I talked to were nice and professional. I appreciate that they allow you to have a let your dog stay for a few hours so they can see if there are any compatibility issues with your dog and the other dogs staying. Drop off was quick and easy. I loved getting the woof report so I always knew how my dogs were doing. It made our trip so much more enjoyable not having to worry about the status of our dogs. Overall this was a very pleasant experience and I definitely recommend them to watch your dog(s) while you're away. I will be using them in the future as well.
My dog had such a great time and really burned off her energy. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I like the ease of scheduling and drop off, & report cards The only possibly downside is the dusty road driving up to the site and your dog will definitely need a bath or wipe down after but we expect this being in the "country".
We recently tried Kama'aina K9 Adventure for a half-day daycare with our dog Rocky, and he had an absolute blast! The agility adventure park gave him a fantastic outlet to explore and burn energy, transforming him into a happy, muddy monster by the end of it! This place is perfect for socializing and exercising your pup in ways that go beyond what I could offer on my own. The staff provides a safe, caring environment, with a great focus on safety and accountability. We were so pleased with Rocky's first half-day experience that we booked him for an extended stay right away. Highly recommended!
Most dogs (and owners) are afraid of my boy so he doesn’t get to play with them, the one thing he wants most. He’s big but still a puppy and so so sweet. I took him to KK9 in hopes that he would make friends to run around and play with and I’m so happy I did. His temp eval went great and when I received the report and pics of the fun he was having, I was overwhelmed ♥️. Thank you to the wonderful staff who took care of my baby and recognized the big bundle of joy he is! We will be back.
Lucky loves staying with Kama'aina K9 Adventures. As much as we don't love leaving him we are at ease knowing he's being looked after with lots of love and care while we're away. He loves seeing his aunties and love seeing old friends and making new friends. Lots of love and appreciation to the owners, staff, and furry friends for always keeping my fur baby safe and entertained.
Long overdue review. We have been sending our pup Mamba to KK9 for 3 years from 2020-2023 (multiple times a week, including some overnight boarding when we were away), and we would have still been going there if we didn't move to the mainland. KK9 is amazing. Mamba learned all his socialization skills from going there every week as soon as he was old enough to meet the age requirement. He would always be so exhausted by the time we picked him up, and so excited when we were dropping him off. There is just so much outdoor space for all the dogs to run around all day. He made so many great pup friends along the way. The staff is one of a kind - everyone is so friendly and most importantly, is going to love and spoil your pup!! They are great with posting photos of how your pup is hanging. Admittedly, the drive to the daycare is a little rocky, but it is 1000% worth it to give your dog an outdoor daycare experience. We've taken Mamba to many other daycares on the mainland after we left Hawaii, but NONE of them compare. It was his favorite place on earth and we wish we were still able to send him.
A coworker recommended K9 adventures and the process to get register was easy. Finding the location was easy (signs helped a lot), and the staff were super friendly and patient with our 3 pups. This was their first time going to a doggie daycare, and they did so well. The staff knew how integrate them without issues. Which is great. We plan on utilizing their services to keep our pups entertained while we’re working or away. 10/10 recommend🤗
