Can not recommend Barking Mad enough, Alison was so helpful, kind and reassuring throughout the whole process. The communication was excellent and I felt confident that my boys would be well looked after. Our host had obviously cared very much for our dogs and they were clearly happy in the picture updates we got and when they arrived home. This was our first experience with Barking Mad but will be booking again next year. Thank you so very much I felt that I could relax on holiday especially with the emails to keep me updated.

Having used barking Mad I wouldn't be happy to leave my dog anywhere else. My dog Molly always has an amazing holiday staying with her host family and we always looking forward to reading about what she got up to! Frustratingly, she hasn't had the best year health wise and Alison has always found perfect hosts who have been able to cater to her specific needs. Alison provides a first rate service every time. I love Barking Mad.

Julie is great,totally put our mind at rest going off on holiday and is professional and friendly and obviously passionate about dogs. Wesley has had a great time with his hosts Pam & Graham and receiving the lovely feedback from them made our day and we hope they will be available for future stays. We have been using Barking Mad for a couple of years and will continue to as it's a great idea and a service that both us and Wesley love. Totally reccomend.

My 10 year old beagle Izzy recently had her second stay with Barking Mad and this time was hosted by Gill and Alan. The booking process with Alison was once again very friendly and professional and it was very reassuring that Izzy was being cared for in a home from home environment! She clearly had a wonderful stay as she arrived home looking great and very happy. Thank you Gill for taking good care of Izzy!

I tried my dog in kennels but she came back a nervous wreck so when I was going on holiday I was recommended Barking Mad as an alternative. The whole process was fantastic. Hetty came back in a relaxed and happy state and had clearly had a great time with her host. I was given a lovely letter telling me everything she'd been doing. I would highly recommend Alison and Barking Mad.

We've used Barking Mad for several years and trust them implicitly. However on this last holiday, the service, support and assistance was simply outstanding. Teddy had been unwell with eye problems, we pre-agreed the treatment plan before we went ...it was followed to the letter, and on our return the little chap was better....it was like have a new car delivered on our return! So many thanks to Daphne (Florence Nightingale), Alison and Jean !

As a host this past year I would like to say how much we enjoy having our holiday dogs to stay such fun and dog walking great for exercise! Alison who runs Barking Mad is a really caring person and always manages to match the dog to the host .We love every minute of it.

Our boys (both labradors) stayed with Annie and her team in November 2024, I cannot emphasise enough how well looked after and loved they were. The care and attention is very clear to see and the social media activity is the best we have ever experienced… they will absolutely be staying again and we just cannot recommend highly enough..

Probably the best doggy daycare in the North Lancashire/South Cumbria area… if not the world! Annie and Nicole go above and beyond to make sure the dogs they look after have an absolute ball as well as a chance for a snuggle and a sleep. The pair are constantly coming up with creative ideas, games and new toys to entertain the dogs. Our Lab Poppy absolutely loves this place and I feel totally confident when I drop her off in the morning.

Absolutely first rate experience for our Labrador Guy. First time here but definitely won't be the last. He stayed in his own pod for two nights while we attended a family funeral. I've stayed in accommodation over the years myself that hasn't met these standards. He was made very welcome and looked after during his stay. He had a fantastic time in a very secure environment. Highly recommended for those looking for day care or overnight stays. Thank you for looking after him so well.

Annie and Nicole are amazing. Our dog has been a few times now and he is just so happy. Although very busy looking after the dogs, they respond to any questions and offer reassurance for those first visits. Care, professionalism, honesty, and positivity are in abundance. Thank you both for everything you do.

Pooch pods is simply amazing! Annie and Nicole are utterly fantastic with our dog, and he jumps out of the car each time we take him as he gets so excited! The pods the dogs stay in are excellent, and we feel completely content leaving him there for overnight stays. I wouldn't take our dog anywhere else.

This is a phenomenal place. Leaving your dog is never easy but Annie and Nicole do everything you could want and more. The care they provide is superb, the dogs are truly spoilt, looked after really well (special care recently needed for ours after vet appointments) and treat the dogs like they are their own. Updates are regularly provided with numerous photos on social media. We really couldn’t recommend them enough.

We've been using Pooch Pods for our young border terrier for about 6 months - daycare and overnight boarding, including a long 10 day stay while my wife and I went on holiday. It's such a fantastic and unique place, the staff are lovely and always have the dogs' welfare as their no.1 priority. Our dog loves staying there and can't contain his excitement when we pull up outside the gates! Such a brilliant alternative to kennels. They get taken on country walks, get healthy food, comfortable glamping pods and a large play area with loads for them to do. Would definitely recommend Pooch Pods to anyone.

We have been using pooch pods and doggy day care for a few months now for what was our very nervous pooch,she absolutely loves it and has gained so much more confidence ,she is so excited when we get in the car to go.I can recommend both the pooch pods and the doggy day care!

Pooch Pods is amazing - it's not your usual doggy daycare and I'm so glad to have found it! My dog loves it there.

I've always worried in the past leaving my dog with other people but l feel totally confident leaving him with Anthony. Knowing they are on private land really gives me peace of mind, and Anthony is experienced and knowledgeable. My dog loves him! The dogs have a great time with lots to do in a fun and safe environment. If l ever have to leave him for the day l know he's treated as one of the family.

Frankie loves going to daycare. He sits waiting for Anthony every morning and comes home shattered. also he has come on amazingly.with his training since being with Anthony. Highly recommended.

Great business, private land, very profession. You know when your dog is collected they are happy, safe and having a great time while in the care of Paws Outdoors.

We travel a 1 hour round journey to take our cat Tipsy here because it is the best kennels around, by far. Tipsy is weighed on arrival, there is a chart by her ‘home’ filled in daily re eating and toilet habits. Always extremely well looked after. All the staff are friendly, efficient and committed to looking after the pets. Thank you.

Great Kennel. Very experienced team that took our requests and needs for our dog seriously. He clearly was happy staying there and looked like he had been calm throughout his stay. Even got a tour around the kennel to see the facilities and was explained their "Traffic Light" system for assessing behaviour in all the dogs to make sure they're properly looked after. Was really happy we booked our dog at Milnthorpe Kennels for his first kennel experience, couldn't have been in safer hands.

Chris managed to transport my very ill Labrador to Kendal for which I'll be forever grateful and will now support. She's doing well and making a recovery..will bring her up to the shop when she's fully recovered. Cheers ...

Stella, Chris and the lovely team have looked after our dog Shadow multiple times every year for the last 12 years. They started off dealing with a dog full of energy, then over the years dealing with numerous medications and generally pampering our gorgeous old girl. Shadow never put the brakes on when we pulled up and she was welcomed as an old fried. They have been kind and caring throughout all those years. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Both dogs came back happy & contented & clean. Was worried as the older dog a rescue & previous experience in kennels not good. Younger dog an annoying adolescent and was worried about him tormenting her 24/7. All staff seem very professional & helpful & have booked them in again, thank you

An excellent kennel - from initial inquiry, through to drop off and then pick up, everyone was helpful and friendly. Our dogs were well looked after, safe, and exercised. It was also good to see that staff were checking vaccination record cards to make sure vaccinations are up to date. Our dogs are booked to go back again later this year!

Found this place on holiday to use the seperate dog field. Staff are very friendly and the field has some agility tunnels etc to help entertain dogs. Will return again. Only loses 1 star as is slightly difficult to find especially with sat nav.

My cat Sassy was boarded here 6 years ago when I moved from the Highlands and many times since as I was regularly visiting my elderly mum down South. Stella, Chris and the other staff are lovely - caring and very professional. Sassy was always happy there. Sadly she just died at 18. I have no hesitation in recommending this boarding place for cats and dogs Jenny

Absolutely brilliant kennels, our dog Lilly loves it here, and Hillary is so caring. We also used the wedding chaperone service and it was all perfect, Lilly got to enjoy our wedding with us, and Hillary looked after her so well and made sure she went back to the kennels when needed xx the best service and we will definitely use the kennels again

We've been taking our dogs to Grassgarth for over ten years and absolutely love the place. Having lived up and down the country and overseas we've experienced all kinds of kennels and Grassgarth is very, very good. I have no doubt that Hilary and the staff care genuinely for the dogs they look after (and the same for the cats, I'm sure). I can wholeheartedly recommend Grassgarth.

Excellent!!!! Our border collie had his first time at a boarding kennel and he came back really happy, well groomed and smelling amazing. The care they gave him was superb. They gave him all the medication he needed and sent me update pictures through the week! They have my full trust and will be using them again.

Booked our dog Mollie in to these lovely kennels at quite short notice for 10 days. Wonderful set up there and she was well looked after. She came home happy and looking a little slimmer & fitter. Thank you Hilary and your team.

Our dogs seem to enjoy their stays here. They come home in good condition. They get time with other dogs and exercise off the lead. The kennels are heated and nice enough. The staff are reassuring and professional.

We use Grassgarth for grooming our Springer Spaniel. They are always friendly, helpful, and kind to our dog, who comes back looking fantastic.

We took our collie dog to use the agility park, the park is fantastic, there are jumps, tunnels, "A" frames, a see saw and weave poles, our dog loved it and we will be coming back every week!

Excellent kennels, decent value for money for the service. They also have a dog agility park you can hire which is great if you need to do training or just have an anxious dog that needs a run.

Top class kennels - friendly, caring staff and l can't recommend it enough! We leave our crazy Cockapoo when we go on holiday and we can relax knowing he is getting good care and having fun. They find him a friend to play in the field with and we get photos and updates. All the staff are friendly and you can tell they are happy looking after all the animals. Its so nice to be able to go away and not worry about our lovely boy! I highly recommend this friendly family run kennels!

I recently boarded my dog, Travis, at Glaneils, it was his first time with them as we don’t leave them often. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience! Travis stayed for a week and came home happier than ever. Not only was he full of energy and excitement, but he also smelled fresh and clean, clearly having been well-groomed during his stay. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to leave your pet, but from the minute I dropped Travis off I knew he was going to be well cared for. It allowed us to fully enjoy our holiday without any worries. The team at Glaneils are exceptional—it's clear they genuinely love what they do and go the extra mile to ensure every dog feels at home. I don’t often leave reviews but wanted to on this occasion as we really are so happy. I highly recommend Glaneils to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving place for their dog. Your pooch will be in the best hands possible! (Apologies for the chewing! Typical naughty Labrador 😜)

Just boarded our dogs Betty and Meg here for the first time - nervous owners as never boarded them before - great experience took the logistical nightmare of holidays away and they clearly they care about what they do not just a transaction - updates via text as requested. Would recommend and have rebooked them again. thank you Michael et al for looking after our dogs.

My strong reactive dogs stopped with these guys overnight, I'm a nervous owner so I did a lot of research before putting them anywhere. The staff and owner were lovely, approachable and caring. They listened to requests and the dogs loved them. Came back well exercised and happy. We're looking forward to using this wonderful facility in the future Edit: my dogs stopped here for a week following this, came back clean and happy. no complaints from the staff even though I know they can be a handful, especially my rottie. My go to kennels going forward

Incredible service from Gleneils Kennels. I was so anxious about leaving my 2 in kennels as in all the time I've had dogs I've never had to. All I can say is they are AMAZING, both fur babies loved it. They are super spoilt pooches at home and sofa surf the day away, it was my insecurities that prevented me from using kennels in the past but from now on I'll never look anywhere else other than Gleneils. The staff are incredible, so warm and friendly and you can tell that everyone really cares about all the animals there. If you are at all anxious about kennels and think you "can't" leave your precious pooches then you need to go and see these guys because you really can. 10/10 for service all round. My fur babies have loved their holiday. Thank you Gleneils, I'll recommend you from the rooftops.

Our 3 dogs have just spent 2 weeks there. All went well, kept us updated throughout the 2 weeks. Dogs seemed to have enjoyed it and very happy with the service provided.

Wouldn't go anywhere else...They are the best...I have a very nervous sprocker and was so worried leaving him...he loved it and they handled him well. I know he loves going as he now drags me to them when I drop him off.
