My wife and I were feeling hopeless when it came to boarding our mini Goldendoodle. It was difficult to find a good location, fair pricing and someone trustworthy to take care of our pup when we were out of town. Finally we came across Holly’s website and were immediately intrigued. We reached out and Holly was so responsive and caring. We got a meet and greet scheduled right away and it went amazing. Holly and her family are so welcoming and easy to communicate with. It has been such a relief to have found Holly and now we always know we have a reliable plan for where our dog will stay when we need help with her. Our favorite part is the daily photo updates we get from Holly when she is watching our dog ♥️ thank you, Holly!

Holly was very easy to work with, responsive to communications, and thoughtful about taking care of my pup. I had a great trip knowing she was in good hands. The daily pics were not only adorable but high quality, too! Will definitely choose Holly again :)

This review is long over-due. Holly has been caring for our 4 animals (2 cats and 2 dogs) for quite a while now, and she has been absolutely stellar! She is very communicative and very compassionate in the care of our animals. Pricing is fair. Two of our animals have medical issues and one of our dogs in particular has some mobility issues. Holly is always attentive and ensures our pup gets to play without pushing herself too far (she would play fetch all day if she could). When Holly cares for your animals, you can tell she really treats them like family. I would recommend her 100%. Thank you Holly for all you do for our family! PS: She takes some pretty great photos!

We always feel comfortable having Holly watch our two cats while we're away! Holly is responsive, lets us know if there are any issues, and sends the cutest daily photo updates. She goes above and beyond to make sure they feel loved (and we're updated) while we are away!

We left our pet rabbit with Holly for a week. I knew right away that she was in good hands. Holly carefully went over all the instructions with us before we said good bye and made sure our little bunny had a comfortable set up. Then, amazingly, we got wonderful photos and updates throughout the week. Everyone was having a good time together. We were so grateful to have found Holly to share their home and attention with our little friend. Holly is really special.

Our dog loved her stay with Holly and family so much and it was such a huge relief for us to know she was being well taken care of while we were gone. Holly sent daily pictures which were much appreciated. Highly recommend!

Holly provided care for our two cats for a week. I could tell by the cute pictures she sent each day that the cats were very comfortable with her. She even took care of an ant evasion we had, putting out ant traps we had to keep the pests away from the cat food! She always replied promptly to texts we sent while away. I will definitely use her services again.

Holly has taken care of my kitty a couple times now and has done such a good job. She checks on my girl reliably and sends me photo updates everyday so I feel reassured that everything is ok back home. Vacations are so much more relaxing when I know my fur baby is being looked after. I highly recommend Holly!

Holly has been incredible with our 1+ yo dog, Maggie. Maggie is full of energy and love and needs a lot of attention and play. Holly expertly guides Maggie through her days and always sends us lots of great photos to put our minds at ease. She has been very flexible to meet Maggie’s needs and our busy schedule. Her toddler is great around dogs, just like her mom!

Wendy saved us during our vacation to visit our kids. We brought our dog, but he and our son's dog didn't hit it off. She was able to take our dog in on very short notice, and he had a blast. She is so kind, helpful. She helped save our trip. Kristi McDonald

I can’t say enough good things about Petlandia!! Wendy and Nate are so patient with my nervous pup, Roo. They are amazing about checking in; both throughout the day while he’s at daycare and weekly just to bring up occasional behavioral/health concerns. They both obviously care so much about each individual pup, and tailor their care for each dog’s needs! The Petlandia set up is so fun, and highly enriching for an adventurous pup. We only use their daycare services, but they also offer boarding/daily walks which I’m sure we will look into for future needs too! Grace and Roo 🩵 Petlandia!

We were so nervous about leaving our puppy, other dog, and two bunnies for a week over the thanksgiving holiday. We had Bailey come house/pet sit for us, and could not have been happier! Not once did we feel uneasy about our babies being well taken care of. Bailey was extremely communicative, sent us updates and pics daily, and made us feel completely at ease about not being there. I have used Wendy’s services for both daycare and overnight care and I cannot say enough great things about her! I have a bit of an anxious pup who doesn’t really like playing with other dogs and has separation anxiety. Wendy has done so much to go out of her way to make my dog feel comfortable and cared for. It's not easy to leave your dog when you know she is anxious but Wendy makes it so much easier with frequent texts and photos and by being so gentle and accommodating!

"Wendy and her team took such great care of our pup, both for walks and for boarding. He was an older gentleman who didn't always want to get going, and Wendy and her team let him set the pace. I highly recommend without any hesitation." That was my review from over a year ago, one dog ago. Now we have Oakley, a much younger and more energetic head strong girl who is so very well cared for by Wendy and Bailey. They have so much patience and insight into dog behavior. They use positive skills to coach our little one even when she doesn't want to be coached. Consummate professionals, they leave the dog and home in excellent condition with clear communication and frequent photos to let us know how our sweet one is doing when we can't be home with her.

Petlandia Pet Care is legit just the best. I’ve been working with them for 8-ish years and they’ve consistently been professional, communicative, and helpful. Additionally, words truly limit me in expressing my appreciation for their flexibility now, and especially during the pandemic, as my work schedule was unpredictable and changed constantly. When I adopted my Abbey girl, she was super beat up and had clearly experienced some trauma. Now my sweet girl is an arthritic senior pup, who continues to enjoy her unconditional love and pets and walks and treats with the folks from Petlandia. Thank you for all that you’ve done and continue to do for our pibbs!

Petlandia is wonderful! I have a pit bull/ heeler mix who often has issues with new people. Wendy took the time to get to know her and she is now officially on my dog's best friend list. I feel so much better leaving for work each day knowing that Wendy will be there to work with my dog. She is professional and a true animal lover. I highly recommend her and Petlandia. Your pet will be in amazing hands!

We love Wendy and Petlandia Pet Care! I am so happy we found Wendy to take care of our pups when we are out of town. Wendy clearly loves dogs and she always takes such good care of our two pups. She is very responsive to messages and is flexible with scheduling. She sends us pictures and keeps us updated on how our pups are doing when they stay with her. Our dog was anxious the first time we dropped her off, and Wendy spent extra time with her and helped her feel comfortable. Petlandia is awesome! Wendy is awesome! I did daycare at Petlandia with 2 Shetland Sheepdogs and a Shih tzu. One of my shelties was very shy and scared of new things and people. Wendy worked with Tori and formed a bond with her very quickly. My Shih tzu loved the whole area to explore and play with other pups! She always had the best time. Hunter my older sheltie found his comfy spot and napped. My pups had a week stay with Wendy at Petlandia. I trust and love Wendy like no other dog care person!

I have been a client of Petlandia Pet Care for many years and can’t say enough good things about their dog-walking service. They are reliable, and respectful. The communication is excellent and most importantly, my dogs love them and go bananas when they come over. I feel absolutely safe having them come into my home when I am not there and I rely on them to take good care of my dogs. Highly recommended.

Betsy and Amelia with Bowser’s Best Buddy are a cut above the rest. I see how much genuine love and care they show my pup, while offering positive and consistent training. My dog Otis attends their day program and has truly blossomed, from an excitable 1 year old adolescent to a well rounded, friendly, obedient member of their pack. Betsy has offered such valuable recommendations on how I could continue the training approach at home to keep advancing his knowledge. I found Betsy as I looked for a day program that wasn’t a larger scale “daycare” space. Betsy did a careful screening to make sure Otis would fit well with the other dogs and slowly folded Otis into the mix. Now that Otis is a “regular,” it gives me peace of mind that any newcomers to the program will be similarly vetted and introduced. A year into attending the day program, Otis is thriving and I am so grateful for the Bowser’s team (Finn, the elder pup, included!)

My two pups absolutely adore Betsy!!!! She takes them for walks, comes by and feeds them when I’m delayed, and have stayed with her and loved their time there. She is always there to help her clients in a pinch. Such a caring woman💕 We are very happy to have “found” such special care. …

Betsy is reliable, communicative, and knowledgeable. From photo and video updates, to leash and manners training, and extra cuddle time, she is more than just a dog walker. I’m so grateful for Betsy and all of her work with Phoebe!

We have been taking our girl to Bowser’s since she was a puppy. Tuesday’s are her favorite day of the week. Betsy treats Pimm like her own and it’s such a relief to not have to worry about her while I’m working. I get pic and video updates during the day, like this gem. We love working with Betsy. She’s professional, a great communicator, and so welcoming to Pimm. If your pup can get a spot, their lucky!

Betsy is a gem! We have two cats, and when we leave to go out of town, we go in peace, because we know they are always so well cared for and loved by Betsy. We feel so fortunate to have found her. Her daily updates, photos, and videos are wonderful to receive and make us feel so close to our kitties, even when we are far away. Upon arriving back in Portland, I needed a dog walker as my remote job gave way to an on-site job. After being ignored by a couple of different providers, Betsy responded promptly, set up a meeting and now my guy, Gary, is the happiest pup on the block. She's priced fairly, provides excellent service (pictures of every walk and attention to Gary's well being), is an A+ communicator and just a generally great care-taker. I couldn't be any happier with Bowser's and Betsy and, as a fanatical fan of my dog, recommend her without hesitation.

Mary Ellen takes the best care of my dogs, so much that the youngest would happily stay there forever. Great pick up/drop off process. Excellent communication and scheduling is easy, daycare or boarding. So glad to have stumbled across her place years ago!

My husband, myself and our pup just moved to the SE area and we were stressing on finding a doggy daycare. We both work all day and didn’t want our pup to be home alone; he has a lot of anxiety & especially separation anxiety. We found Mary Ellen’s daycare and immediately she sounded like a good fit. We’ve been taking our pup to her for about a month now and it’s been going great! We were really concerned that his anxiety would be an issue and that maybe it’d be a bit much for Mary Ellen, but she quickly dispelled those fears. She’s been working with our pup and helping him adjust to the new routine and has been incredibly kind and patient. We’re so grateful to have found Mary Ellen ☺️☺️☺️

We LOVE Wag Along! Our pup has been going there for a while for daycare and comes home happy and exhausted. We've also boarded her there and had a great experience. Mary Ellen is knowledgeable, flexible and reliable, and it is such a great spot for our pup to spend some time each week! Our girl can be a little nervous to leave us (she grew up during pandemic stay-home orders), but warmed right up to going! I know how much she loves it by her excitement when we pull in for drop off & at the end of the day, she usually doesn't want to leave! We consider Wag Along her second family and highly recommend them for boarding or daycare :)

I feel grateful to have found this day care/boarding location for my pup! I’ve brought my pup there for day care and I’ve boarded her for as long as 5 days. My dog always leaves happy and tired from playing with all the other wonderful dogs. I trust that Mary Ellen keeps a watchful eye over all of the dogs while they are under her care. Mary Ellen is excellent at communicating with me and I feel 100% comfortable leaving my puppy there. I would highly recommend!

Mary Ellen is the best. We always leave our dog with her when we're away and have been doing so since 2016. As soon as we pull up outside her house, she starts whimpering to get out and join her friends. Mary Ellen has two dogs of her own, Margaux and Rou, both wonderful golden retrievers who our dog adores. They're kind of like benevolent older siblings to her. I often think our dog has a better time than we do — home away from home!

I took my anxious 1 year old puppy to Wag Along to try to help with her separation anxiety and socialization. Mary Ellen took extra good care of her and within a few weeks Bootsy was more confident and well behaved and she loves going to see Mary Ellen and to play with the other dogs. I appreciate how very easy drop off and pick up is, and that my pup is still clean at the end of the day. Mary Ellen is kind, responsible and the price is right.

We’ve taken our energetic 1.5 year old heeler Sylvie here since the beginning of the year, been a very positive experience. Space-wise it’s essentially a house & yard, rather than the typical warehouse type areas of other doggy daycares. We appreciate the fact that the owner, Mary Ellen, has been doing this a long time and is very hands-on – it’s good to know our pup’s with someone experienced & who really cares about both the animals & how things are run. She’s flexible and the whole process has been super easy. Price is pretty standard. Our dog is fairly high strung and at first she had a lot of anxiety about being left there. But after a little while she got over it, now it’s fun to watch her excitedly run to Mary Ellen & all her doggy friends in the morning. I think the daycare has actually helped out her maturation process. Mary Ellen sends video clips and/or photos during the day showing them playing & lounging around, which is fun for a doting dog parent like me. The pup comes home happy & tired. We just do part-time right now - to socialize Sylvie & keep her company while the humans work, also to create a familiarity in case we ever have to board her there sometime for travel. Highly recommended.

We love having our Sully with Mary Ellen. We never worry about him when he’s there. We use daycare and board with her when we are out of town. He is always excited to see her and she takes such good care of the pups in her care. Recommend her 110%.

Mary Ellen takes such good care of my baby, I never worry at all when she’s there. My dog was super timid before she started going about a year ago and now she’s so happy to go see her friends each time. Mary Ellen watches a nice variety of sizes and breeds, so she’s exposed to all kinds of dogs, which is helpful for the real world. I literally don’t know what I would do without her. We love Wag Along!

Mary Ellen is amazing, I’ve been trusting her with my dog for a while now. I recently used her for boarding, and she went above and beyond when taking care of my dog. I had to drop off my dog right after being injured and Marry Ellen took her with out hesitating. She gave her her meds and cared for her like I would have. She even sent me frequent updates and pictures to help ease my anxiety. I truly don’t think you will find a more caring pet sitter in the Portland area!

We have been using Mindy every Tuesday for about a year. I can hardly tell you how excited Cooper is every Tuesday morning. We actually think he knows when it’s Tuesday. She’s always on time, always concerned about safety and health of our dog, and is always fun to talk with. If we have concerns about Cooper, she will always offer ideas for the questions that we have. Our group of dogs were well curated by her. They are quite the pack! If she had the time, we would also use her dogsitting and occasional private training. dog Adventures NW has been an outstanding company. They are definitely busy which reflects how good their services is. When there are times when they can’t meet our need, they will give us a long list of other companies who may be able to. That shows great integrity. I looked at a couple of companies before hiring this one. I am very pleased with their services and Mindy in particular Mindy also has taken some of our favorite pictures of Cooper

We absolutely adore Kerry and her Puppy Play & Learn program! Our little Honey joined the shy and tiny puppies day, and it has done so much for her confidence and socialization! When she first started out a couple months ago, she coexisted with other pups but in general much preferred human company. Now, she's so excited when we drop her off and she loves playing and zooming with her new friends. We can't thank Kerry enough for her knowledge, care, and attention with our little puppy – it truly takes a village! We wholeheartedly recommend Puppy Play & Learn to anyone looking for attentive one-on-one care for their young pup.

I previously posted rave reviews for DANW for my high energy love bug Norman the Bernedoodle. Our family has grown and four months ago we rescued a Goldendoodle who is pretty severely vision impaired and on medication for seizures. The rescue told us she was very limited in her physical abilities because she can't really see... When she arrived she just wanted to play with her brother and I of course called Kerry because I trust her expertise and knowledge. I was torn because I wanted Goldie to be able to be a dog, but scared because we were warned she was limited in her abilities. Kerry spent time with Goldie and reassured me that we just had to trust Goldie to be a dog and that she could learn to compensate and rely on her other senses. Enter Alex (Norman's favorite human who doesn't live with him). Goldie started adventuring with her brother and with Alex's patience and love has become such a capable and confident pup. At first she was very hesitant walking on the different ground or when she would come in contact with bushes and shrubs. Her brother Norman would bump into her to keep her on the trail and sometimes Goldie would hold onto his tail. Alex would carry Goldie when she was unsure about walking and he was so patient with her as she found her footing. When Goldie needed to just stand by Alex to get more comfortable he would talk with her and pet her. Now she is able to run and chase after Norman and she is becoming more interested in playing with the other dogs on her adventures too! She's living her best life and is so sporty now. She recently jumped over a log on a hike right after her brother and I cried because I never thought she'd be able to do so. DANW is the most wonderful fabulous company and the people who work there are the best and love our dogs as much as we do!

From pet sitting to puppy playdates to dog training, my experiences with DANW have been nothing short of amazing! The staff is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. My dogs can hardly contain their excitement when they realize it's time for another fun-filled adventure with the awesome folks at DANW!

I'm going to dig in here for the people who are struggling with a new puppy or young dog. Kerry welcomed us into her Puppy Play and Learn Program to try and help our dachshund, Henry socialize more and to potentially identify and sooth his quirks and anxiety. He's an awkward guy with the sweetest heart but quite frankly, we'd been to a few other establishments that offer both play and training and we did not find our match. Those experiences made me feel like a 'problem parent' and instead of assimilating him into the pack- he was isolated to practice being alone in another room in a strange place while he could hear other dogs playing and definitely came home more anxious and misunderstood and it was expensive. Like anyone else in this position you throw money at what you hope will stick and it's overwhelming. Henry loves other dogs and being part of the pack and we didn't even know that until we found our spot. Our experience at Dog Adventures NW could not have been more different. The first thing Kerry said to me via email was "He sounds like a real turkey which is just my type!". This felt like a life ring and a big warm blanket rolled in one. Henry adores Kerry and was perfectly matched to his group and we have done the 'add on training' at noon 4-5 times thus far and I can guarantee we've made significant head way each time. The one on one training has been as helpful for me because our dynamic was off and some crummy patterns were set into motion early in his puppyhood. I needed the support as much (or more) as Henry does and together we are totally finding our way. I went from crying multiple times a week (it was really bad) to getting into a rhythm that I almost did not think was possible. I have also fallen for Kerry and her professionalism, pragmatism, brilliant canine training and experience. Puppy Play and Learn is not doggie daycare. It's an incredibly balanced morning of all the things these dogs need to be on their way to awesome pets. It feels like a luxury but it is our necessity. When Henry sees Kerry- the sound he makes is like no other sound he ever makes. She speaks his language and I've adopted the lessons (training) he's learned each time he goes and we get better together. I read an awful stat the other day that said "In the US, 4,000,000 puppies come home each year and 3,000,000 of those are put up for adoption. I'm proud to say we've been officially saved from becoming part of that hideous equation when we were almost there. Henry is 10.5 months and we love each other more each day. It's been a slow burn with this puppy and we didn't sweep each other off our feet immediately which devastated me. We finally have our support system firmly in place thanks to Dog Adventures NW. I seriously can’t say enough good things about our experience with Kira and Dog Adventures Northwest. It’s hard to believe that this combination of training expertise, and flexibility with my schedule exists, but here we are! Kira sends us regular updates and pictures, and also gives us suggestions about gear and how to work with Jupiter at home to maximize his benefit. With Kira Jupiter gets more than just an outlet for his sillies, as Kira would say, but also a highly structured and evidence based approach to training. We honestly could not ask for anything more!

Our dog has been going on adventures for almost two years now! He's a doodle with all that crazy energy and he's TIRED after his adventures! We've been working with UB the whole time and they're AWESOME! Always super communicative, they send the best write ups with pictures. UB has also been super accommodating with our dog who doesn't love other dogs. Our boy gets to ride shotgun in their truck! If you're looking for a way to get your dog exercise with a trainer you can trust, I can't recommend Dog Adventures Northwest and UB enough!

I cannot recommend Dog Adventures NW enough. Mindy, Clara and Jackson have all been incredible to work with. We have two dogs with really different needs. For overnight sitting, it's been hard to find someone that we can trust given that one of our dogs is not only reactive but has quite a few health issues. I know that he's in great hands with Clara—we can't even say Clara around the house without them running to the door and getting excited. Our dogs trust her and love her, it's hard not to get jealous! She's incredibly patient and you can tell that she really loves spending time with them and it's mutual. Mindy has been absolutely amazing with our other pup who goes out on adventures. It can take a minute for her to warm up to new people but she waits at the door every Monday for her pick up—so excited to spend the day with her friends. She does a great job of bringing her out of her shell, encouraging play and working on her other skills. We have full trust in DANW team of trainers, knowing that they promote force-free and positive reinforcement training and treat our dogs like their own. I wish we could give them 10 stars.

My daughter found Dog Adventures Northwest when I was ill and could not care for my 13 month old puppy. He spent almost 6 weeks with Kerri and I can’t say enough good things about her training and boarding. They took him right into their family and loved him like their own. He was taken on all kinds of adventures from the coffee shop to the beach. He was offered all kinds of new experiences and as a result is an amazingly well-socialized puppy. No matter if I was at home or hospital, Kerri would bring him to see me whenever I asked. She took him for puppy check-ups and vaccinations. She drove across Portland to all of our locations without one complaint. He became use to car rides as well as park adventures. My puppy returned to me as a good tempered, very social teenager🙃. I don’t regret one penny of all my puppy and I gained. Sometimes you don’t realize what a gift you have been given until it is over.

Our pup has been going on adventures with U.b. and having the time of her life! U.b is super communicative, and they send us the most awesome pup updates and photos! They have gone out of their way to make sure our shy pup has a good experience in the car and we couldn't be more grateful! Thank you, U.b!!

I love the free day opportunity. It is understandable sense my dog has been training through severe separation anxiety for a couple months after his previous owners kenneled him until he was 5 months. He's a quick study and the man that lead him into his dog daycare was the 1st my dog has ever gone with without pulling and the man saw that he was better the next day. Phew! I recommend this place. Check out the savings on the buying options. The price is right. Also feels like a good and happy neighborhood dog daycare. My dog came back tired and ready to eat. They have great prices on meals but I just feed him so he has a routine.

My beloved, healthy mini schnauzer DIED in their care from horrific injuries. Your dog is not safe with them. I trusted them with my sweet little pup and he never came back home.

I called to speak with someone about boarding my dog and they were so rude! I said, "Happy Friday! How are you?" To which they scoffed and replied, "What do you need?" I said I was thinking of boarding my dog, but not when they spoke to me like that. The person laughed and said, "That's fine." And hung up. if this is how they treat the humans, I worry how they treat the animals. No thanks.

This place is awesome!!! My dogs love coming here, and they are always so tired when I pick them up, which is great because a lot of the time during the work week, I do not have time to play with them. Cheaper than any other place in the PDX area as they have package deals for weeks/months. More days you buy, cheaper it is overall. Pickup/drop off process is quick and efficient. The sweet lady that works here is a hoot and always making me laugh. Thank you, Safe Journey!

I just gotta say, I absolutely love this place! The staff and environment are incredibly friendly and welcoming. my two rotties always have such a good time there. I know my boys can be difficult at times, but they are very patient with them and they always come home happy and healthy wiggle butts! <3

I have nothing negative to say about them. Only thing is that i wish they were closer to Troutdale. I absolutely love bringing my dog here. He always comes home very very tired. You can tell that the staff here is very knowledgeable about what they're doing as well. I drop him off before work or a trip and i leave with a peace of mind. i appreciate how they try to accommodate my schedule as well. I also love how they don't kennel their dogs. My dog has terrible separation anxiety and a kennel would not be a good time for him. I really appreciate this business, and the staff that can make it all happen. I will be recommending them to anyone who needs a great doggy day care.

This place holds one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This happened 1 year ago. I took my sweet old pup there for a few day care trials in anticipation of a potential 10 day stay. He seemed to liked it so I went ahead and book his long stay. Conin was at Safe Journey a total of 5 days and he died. They emailed me while I was abroad to tell me my dog had not eaten in 3 days and that he was in poor health. 3 days! I immediately had a family friend go pick him up and 24 hours later he was dead. Not only this has been dramatic and absolutely devastating, but I also had to deal with the complete and utter lack of responsibility Safe Journey decided to take regarding this after I arrived back in the US. I received long emails from them with just excuses. I strongly believed that my dog was left in isolation, not fed and not cared for at all. He was so dehydrated when my friend picked him up, that even after 24 in intensive care they could not revive him. This place is extremely dodgy, they thrive themself as specialized in "difficult dogs", and so i trusted these people with my 15 year old mutt. He was a healthy old pup, and within 5 days he became ill and died. They took no responsibility, they did not offer to reimburse me for the days he did not spend in there, there was zero care, only a bunch of excuses. The recent number of horrible review have encouraged me to speak up. At the time, I reported them to the better business bureau. We love Safe Journey so much! Craig and the team care so much about our pup and make sure he’s having a good time- whether he feels like relaxing alone or playing with others. It’s such a life saver to have a neighborhood hang out spot we can drop in any day or time. The rates are fantastic as well. Thanks Safe Journey team!

My dogs love this place! Kennels can be anxiety inducing, especially for resuce dogs. At Safe Journey, they get to socialize freely, making it more natural for all the dogs. In addition to our dogs being happy, they have very flexible availability and fair pricing, a must for last-minute travelers like myself.

I've been using Tails and Trails for dog walking and overnight services since late 2019. I've loved their service and professionalism they have provided to me and my pet. Over the past year, I have noticed that it has been challenging to schedule overnight services. They've experienced a shortage of dog handlers which has limited their scheduling availability. I understand the challenges as my dog requires a more experienced dog handler as he's had behavioral issues with other handlers in the past. I am aware of the challenges of scheduling services during the holidays, but my recent issues do not relate to it. My biggest complaint has been the lack of communication and transparency for scheduling. The past few times I've scheduled an overnight sitter, I've had zero communication leading up to the scheduled date if my overnight service appointment has been accepted. When reaching out to Tail and Trails to coordinate, I'm informed there is no one available causing me to have to find an emergency replacement in less than 24 hours. I understand if they cannot accommodate my request, but not notifying me with less than 24 hours of my upcoming trip is unacceptable and unprofessional. After over 4 years of using Tails and Trails, it is difficult for me to continue to use their service if this is the standard moving forward. I've had great experiences with them in the past and do not want to overlook the help and care they have provided. Better communication and transparency must be addressed.

We scheduled for 4 cat visits in the evenings while we went on a cruise while having a family member coming in the mornings. We had no cell phone service only wifi and email communication while on the ship. The first evening I emailed them when they were at 2 hours late asking to contact me asap. The manager Chloe responded apologizing that the order was entered wrong for that day and she was sending Andy over. He arrived at 8pm. This tells me that had I not contacted them, they wouldn't have come that day. She said they would credit me for that visit. I emailed back and asked her to please confirm the 3 following days and I got no response. The next morning I emailed her again to get clarification and explained that we were on the ocean and that it was very important to hear back from her. And still, no response. Not until Andy came that evening 2 hours late, again. I spent the entire day stressed out. However, I felt that if I were to complain that they might just cancel the rest of the visits. That was a terrible feeling. The other 2 days Andy was on time. And while there he did perform the basic tasks. But didn't show any genuine affection to our cat. Thank goodness our ring camera was working. It was the only way we knew what was happening at all. Since returning home I have spoken with Jeff, the owner and he has assured me that he will prevent this from happening again and I sure hope so.

Love this service so much!!! This is the second time i’ve used this service and they are so organized, caring and communicative. The owner Stacy is very knowledgeable and her staff is awesome. Melody Knox went above and beyond taking care of my anxious dog and sent us so many reassuring updates and photos. I highly recommend anyone use this service.

I never leave reviews, but I am so disappointed and feel obligated to warn others. I scheduled and confirmed cat visits for a few days while out of town with my family. The first two days went well, but yesterday I did not receive a notification that the visit had been completed. While I understand sometimes emergencies happen, I have emailed twice today, left a voicemail, and left an Instagram message and have still heard nothing back. I am still out of town and have no way of knowing whether my cat will go another day without being cared for. If you are looking for reliable service/communication, I would look elsewhere.

I rarely leave negative reviews but would avoid using this service at all costs. We had a dog walk scheduled for our two dogs in a 12-1pm window. They use a system where the dog walker scans a QR code on your fridge magnet when the dog walk starts and ends. After checking the portal, we saw that the dog walk had not started over an hour after the service was scheduled to start, so contacted T&T and were assured that the walker was running behind because she had been scheduled for 3 dog walks in the same one hour window (??). An hour later, the walk still had not started. At 4pm, I received a call from Ruth (the walker) that she had just arrived and walked the dogs. This is 4 hours late with zero communication. Additionally, the QR code was never scanned which leaves me to assume that the walk never happened. Our poor dogs were left alone for 9+ hours with no communication from T&T. Do not recommend.

This was our first time using a pet sitting service and we were very impressed by the level of care and attention our pups received. Jeff put us at ease when conducting our initial visit and Jonathan was very communicative while we were on our trip. We know our girls can be a handful at times and cannot express enough how appreciative we are for the peace of mind it gave us working with this awesome company. Thank you!

Tails and Trails team members have been walking our labradoodle puppy for about seven months, and they are fantastic. Lilly paces around the kitchen every morning, eager for her walking human to arrive, and she’s excited beyond description when they get here. There are three T&T walkers who share Lilly, and they’re all totally reliable and friendly. They’ve trained her in “heel” and other walking behaviors. It’s clear these are not people just working for the money; they totally care about dogs. We’re delighted with them and their care for our puppy.

The initiation process started off well with responsiveness, consultation setup. The technology they use seems neat. I contacted them for a dog sitting request and I have expressed the importance of meet and greets needed for my dog to ensure it's a good fit, which I was advised that it is no problem. 6 days later I haven't been contacted to setup these meetings. I called 2 days ago to checkin on scheduling these meetings and was advised I would be contacted by a sitter and I haven't been. The window gets shorter everyday to get these meetings done and now we are at less than a week away from the requested sit date. I wish Tails and Trails would have been transparent about what they could accommodate and called me back to let me know the status along the way, and if a sitter could not do it. I am feeling more stress now from when I first contacted them since this feels they are leaving our pups without care that we were assured of.

I cannot say enough great things about Tails & Trails. From the first meet and greet meeting with Lexi, I felt completely comfortable and was really impressed with how professional the service is. Lexi took detailed notes, answered all of my questions, and really took the time to make sure we addressed all of our pup's needs. We have used Tails & Trails for daily walks and dog sitting while we were out of town. I love reading the updates and seeing the pictures we get sent after each walk, it is the highlight of my work day. I truly can't imagine what we would do without Tails & Trails.

So reliable and professional. Hassle free in & out process. Jeff, the owner is so prompt with his responses. Special shoutout to Stacy & Jeff. Rocky really loved his walks with especially you guys. Just look at these before & after pics. They are so happy to get groomed at Play & Chase. The only issues we’ve ever had in the many years we’ve been having our dogs groomed here is with occasional razor burn around the sensitive areas of skin.

So thankful for everyone at Play & Chase! My french bulldog had a very hard time socializing prior to going. Over a few months they gradually worked on socializing him. We started with 3 minutes and by the end were able to go all day. Everyone was so friendly and kind, I highly recommend Play & Chase.

Play & Chase has taken great care of Janie's grooming for years, and they still do after a change in ownership. She's always relaxed, happy, clean, and trimmed up just right. The groomers are all caring and talented, and communication is great. Highly recommend grooming at Play and Chase.

Choosing a facility for your dog can be nerve-wracking, but Play & Chase Dog Care has consistently eased my worries. My dog enjoys daycare, boarding, and grooming services, and every visit leaves him at ease—no signs of anxiety. Which is VERY rare for him. Emily, Brandy, and Liz go out of their way to make sure he receives a lot of love and attention, which I known is true as he gets excited whenever we pull up and he knows where he’s going. That says a LOT about a facility. Not to mention, the grooming team's professionalism and proficiency always leaves my dog looking and feeling fantastic. I LOVE taking my dog here! Of all the places I’ve taken my anxious poodle, this is the only place I’ll ever take him again. The staff here are soo good to my dog, even though he’s a handful and my dog looks fantastic after his grooming. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I have been taking Shasta here for 4 years now for everything from grooming to boarding. The staff there is always friendly and the gals that groom Shasta have always done a fantastic job. When I board her there she is not left caged up but is allowed to be out and play and is always treated like royalty! You can really trust them 100%.

Play & Chase Dog Care goes above and beyond to care for my dog!! The facility is clean, safe and the dogs have plenty of places to play and socialize. The staff of Brandi, Kathleen, Emily and Team are amazing and friendly! They also offer very affordable and reasonable grooming services!! I have only great things to say about Downtown Doggies (Richard and Mikey), caring for my dog, Gilmore. Mikey is kind, patient, positive, and dependable. This is my first time working with a dog walking service, and I was nervous about trusting my leash-reactive and cranky dog with a stranger. However, meeting Mikey and watching him interact with Gilmore - and the adorable photos and updates - puts me at ease. I feel so lucky to be working with Mikey, and appreciate Downtown Doggies so much.

We had a great experience with Richard and Mikey. They were kind with our dog, Max, even putting a coat on him on rainy days. They were also flexible with our schedule changes. Our only regret was not finding them sooner.

My experience with Downtown Doggies was nothing but wonderful! Being a traveling nurse, leaving my dog alone for 12+ hours while at work is not an ideal situation. I was so lucky to have come across Richard and Mikey because they definitely helped my situation! What I really loved most about their services was the summarized potty break I would receive immediately after the walk was complete! They include a very detailed map including where they walked, how many times my dog did her business, and of course added a few photos! I felt very at ease knowing my dog was in excellent hands. I would recommend to anyone who's in need of a dog walker! :)

Mikey is simply the best! He not only walks Pippa, but has taken the time to know her quirks - what she likes and how to play with her. It's been such a relief to know my dog-child is in such good company and care.

This last weekend I had Mikey watch my puppy Annabella and her older brother Hamilton for two nights while I was out of town. This is no easy task as the pup is only 12 weeks old, yet Mikey went above and beyond with my two pups! He was very responsive and cared for the dogs as I would have if I were home. He accommodated requests I had for their routines and somehow managed to keep my dog area clean which is also a challenge considering potty training is a work in progress….I highly recommend Mikey and Richard. They have been so easy to work with and truly care for your pets! I also very much look forward to their photos and updates during their stays 😊

Incredible loving/caring/meticulous service provided by Mikey and Richard of Downtown Doggies! We were new to Portland and looking for a trusted house/dog sitting service during our 3 week trip to SE Asia… Downtown Doggies turned out to be a perfect solution. We got 3 updates a day accompanied by photos, walking map and stories about our Mini Pinscher, Loki. What a relief. They also took great care of our house as well. We just got back from another week away where Loki was in their care; consistent results. Loki, it seems, loves Mikey as much as us! Can’t imagine a more trusted source for dog care…

Downtown doggies is fantastic. I started to book with them when my office mandated a return to work. They were able to get us on the schedule so quickly which was so appreciated. My dog is apprehensive with strangers and they really worked with me, and my pup, to make sure things worked for everyone. They will be my first call if I ever need any services for my pup. I love how thoughtful and thorough they are when they do drop ins and they communicate everything so well. Seeing the photos and notes they took during the drop ins was one of my favorite things

We've used Downtown Doggies twice now and both times we had Mikey as the sitter for our two cats. Mikey is friendly and professional and takes good care of our cats. Our cats usually hide from anyone besides my wife and I, but they both seem to love Mikey. We really appreciate the daily updates and photos we get while out of town. Richard has also always been great to work with over email when scheduling. These guys are super friendly and professional and will continue to be our go-to service in the future.

We visit Portland and stay down-town. We were in a pinch since we had to bring our two Frenchies with us and were staying in a down-town Condo. Richard agreed to sit and play and take the boys on nice long walks so that they wouldn't be cooped up when we went out to eat for the evenings. Richard was great - warm and friendly, easy to work with and the doggies loved him. We received amusing updates and notices of their activities when they were out and about.We liked him and will use him again and can whole-heartedly recommend him to other down-town dwellers.

We highly recommend Ginger Matyas for pet walking and sitting services! For the past couple of years, Ginger has cared for our beloved 12-year-old Labrador, Cash. Ginger watched our dog Ellie, which is no small feat. Ellie is an extremely active cattle dog who demands activity. Ginger was up to the task and they fell in love with each other. Ginger is so caring and kind with animals it is really a beautiful sight to see. She really connects with all animals. Ellie was happy and well cared for and we have used Ginger numerous times since then. Ginger is the BEST!!

All I can say is WOW - Ginger was amazing with my 2 cats when I had to go out of town. I am new to Portland and was nervous about finding someone to have come watch my cats for me in my home while I took my first trip out of town. I now have no qualms about future trips because I know my cats will be in great hands with Ginger and her team every time. She brought over toys and played with them and sent pictures/videos every day which was so great. I would 1000% recommend Ginger to anyone needing to find someone to trust their fur babies with!

Ginger has been taking care of my two cats for over two years and she is great! I have an 18 year old cat with early kidney disease and an 8 year old who is frightened of everything after being rescued by firefighters when my condo building had a fire in 2017. Ginger is patient with him and eventually gets him to come out from under my bed covers. My older cat just loves her and climbs all over her. During my last two week trip she came twice a day as it’s important for my older cat to eat regularly. She updated me with photos and videos, easing my anxiety at leaving them for so long. I totally recommend Ginger.

We go to LexiDog for Krissy. She is the best groomer and cares so much for our dogs. We have 2 Bernese mountain dogs and a leonberger and they always come out floofy and happy.

Krissy does a fabulous job grooming Wonton and Porter. She cuts their ears to the leather so they don't get wet from the water bowl, and they always smell great! So handsome!

My dog loves coming for daycare and we love the daily report card. Grooming services are reasonably priced and earns our pup lots of compliments at the park.

I have been taking my dog to Lexidog for eight years and highly recommend them. I use daycare, grooming and boarding and have never had anything but good experiences during all this time. My dog loves it there. The attendants and groomers are so loving and skillful in working with the dogs. Your dog will have to pass an assessment to assure compatibility with the current canines. I’m retired now and don’t really need to take Elsa in very often but do anyway several times weekly, because the exercise and socialization are so good for her.

Misty is AMAZING! My daughter has a Pomeranian who has anxiety attacks around people he doesn't know well. She's been able to cut right on through his little walls. :) Thank you for being Amazing, Misty :) By the way - Chaz died a couple months ago. We are still sad about it but he's in a better place and Misty made him feel better toward the end of life and we appreciate her.

LexiDog in Lake Oswego is one of the best doggie daycare, boarding, and grooming facilities we have ever taken our chocolate lab too. When we first moved to the Portland area we needed to find a regular place for daycare, grooming and boarding for our pup. LexiDog has been amazing, caring, and accommodating to our pup every time. All of their staff are truly amazing and love all the dogs.

They took 3 hours to groom our dog and when we came back we saw the daycare guy on video making rounds spraying dogs in the face. The front desk said the spraying was to get the dogs to stop barking but his presence seemed to be causing barking. Everything I know about face spraying is it is cruel. I wouldn’t trust them with my dog again.

This is such an awesome place to take your dogs to! I love the staff and I feel comfortable leaving my puppy there for training/play time. Amanda is a great trainer and I can tell that she really cares about the dogs there. I don’t know everyone else’s name, but the rest of staff is friendly and super knowledgeable! Calcifer LOVES being there and looks forward to his Monday visits.
