Dog Sitters in Nelson

We were visiting the area and needed some doggy daycare for a couple of hours whilst shopping in Nelson and also another full day for us to go cycling without our 2 labradoodles. Nadia couldn't have offered a more perfect service for us. She has a really good screening service and once you are "in" it's great. Such a lovely personal service, home from home for the dogs who came back tired but happy! Couldn't ask for more! Thanks again Nadia!

The Wallis' Pet Boarding was super responsive and professional with us while we made arrangements to visit Nelson. Ultimately those plans had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions in the area. Nadia was kind and understanding. I will be reaching out to Wallis' Pet Boarding next time we are planning to visit Nelson. Highly recommend.

Robin walked my dog Tru while I was away. She was so thoughtful with daily texts and photos of their time together. It is difficult when you have to leave your dog but it was made much easier knowing he was having quality time with Robin!

Pippi had a fantastic weekend with Robbin! I was able to relax and enjoy my trip knowing that Pip was staying with Robbin in her home and going on fun walks everyday. I would leave Pip with Robbin again in a heartbeat.

Gracie's is the best kennel ever. We love that the dogs spend so much time playing outdoors, and that there is designated rest time for them as well so they don't get over tired. Our blue heeler has so much fun and is always so happy, exhausted and calm when we bring her home. Staff is fantastic and trustworthy, and the price is great! Highly recommend for daycare or overnight boarding!

Our 2 dogs just had their first overnight stay at Gracie’s. After a couple successful daycare visits to help with the transition, we knew they were going to love it! The staff at Gracie’s have been nothing but accommodating and welcoming. Our 2 pups love spending time with their 4-legged friends. And we have the peace of mind they are somewhere safe and getting all the love and affection they need.

We are so grateful to have found Gracie’s, it has changed our lives! Our dog, Otto, isn’t the easiest fella to just leave with friends. He’s big and loud and a bit needy. When we first started taking him to Gracie’s we were nervous so we introduced him slowly with increasing overnight stays - but it was obvious pretty quickly that he was in good hands. We took our first vacation in years this year and now we know that we have a safe and fun place to leave him for a few days, or even a couple weeks if we are leaving town. He gets love, exercise and has fun! Gracie’s sends photos and makes sure we know how much they enjoy having him. He comes home happy and relaxed. It’s such a wonderful thing to have them! Our Australian Shepherd was new to Gracie’s Kennel. She was nervous at the beginning but seemed to adapt during her 3 day stay. Staff said she warmed up to them after the first day and had plenty of outside time. We definitely will be back 😊 …

This was our first time taking our dog to a boarding place so felt a bit bad just dropping off our pooch for the night. But the staff there are lovely and our dog had a really good time. We will definitely be back again.

Best dog kennel we've ever been to! The owners care about and love the dogs. It is clear. There is a nice big outdoor space the dogs get to play in. Our dog is reactive to other dogs so there is an option for him to have private outdoor time! We love it, he comes home happy and tired every time. We will continue to use this kennel for as long as we live here!

Our lovely Linda Loo loves going to Gracie's! She's a spicy girl, but we can leave her with Gracie's knowing they understand her completely. We always feel relieved and content knowing Linda is, too!

We recently had our 1yr German Shepherd stay for 14 days. It was her first boarding experience and she seemed to love it. She was excited to return after her 1 night trial stay a few weeks prior, and returned home exhausted and happy. The (almost) daily instagram stories were great, I loved seeing that she was playing well with other dogs. The staff were friendly and capable, and we will absolutely be staying there again when we travel and cannot take our pup with us.

Lil Mutt is like a doggo Disneyland! My dogs absolutely love to enjoy a vacation here. The staff is kind, the kennels are clean and the peace of mind knowing that my poochies are safe and happy when I have to travel without them is priceless.

I recently lost my 15.5 year old dog Max. His health and quality of life had declined to the point where he didn't know where he was and walked in circles. I heard that Lil mutt did private crematations for pets. I contacted Shirley, prior to the Vet putting Max down, and she was so kind and understanding to what I was going through. She knew Max because she had groomed him for years. She offered to pick him up from the veterinary office and assured me he would be cremated by himself. She also assured me there would be no long wait for me to pick up his remains and would have them ready for me within 4 days. Unlike other pet crematories that have waits of up to two weeks. Shirley's soft and kind way meant so much to me in a time of such a great loss to me. In addition to this, lil mutt had groomed my dog for years, and they are the best of any groomer I had used. They would always do their best to squeeze Max in on short notice. They would groom him exactly as I asked each time. He'd come back happy and full of energy after being groomed by them. Amazing business to deal with for your fur babies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Shirley.

My dog goes to lil mutt every year. And every year he always come back more well behaved then when I dropped him off. They have amazing rates and a beautiful air conditioned kennel area. The dogs go out and play 5 to 6 times a day and get so much excercise and play with their friends. It’s extremely clean and my dog loves it there! I would recommend lil mutt to anyone who wants there dogs taken care of. Barry and Shirley are very caring and take their business of caring for your dog very serious I will drive 6 hours just to board my dog with them any day.

Dog got sick. First off we feed our dog raw food. We extended the dogs stay for a day. We let them know that we would feed the dogs when we picked them up in the morning. We were in a hurry to make an appt back home in Calgary. The man that we dealt with upon pickup did not seem to realize that we just wanted to see our dogs as we missed them. He held us up talking about non sense for over 30min all while telling us just to say hi to the dogs and go. Not to pet them or show them any affection just to put them on the leash and go. After all that when I go to feed my dog he proceeds to tell me that they've already been fed and that they feed the dogs at 9 and 4. When I dropped them off we told them that our one dog is fed once in the morning and that's it and we supplied the food. After hearing this he was adamant that he was already fed even though I knew they didn't have any more food that I supplied and I told them I would feed him myself. After getting home my dog has had diarrhea since and into the morning. I was hoping he was just unaware of what was going on but I'm assuming they just didn't listen to our instructions. He's never had diarrhea for a long time and the size of his business has never been that big for years seeing he's just on raw food. Definitely not impressed they decided to feed him whatever food especially since he always gets sick on kibble and I told them not to feed him that morning. Also not sure on when they get to go outside or anywhere other than in the kennel but everytime I was there... 4 times at random times... They were always locked in the kennel with no bedding or water it seems. The kennel is cheap I'll give them that but quality of treatment seems to be definitely lacking in what I was hoping. They say they're on 20 acres but I'm assuming they never leave the penned area which is a small building and a maybe 30 x 40 fenced off area. All in all I won't be taking my dogs back there ever again. 2 stars for being cheap but that's as high as I would rate them

I will admit it I was very disgusted by this very rude lady that worked at the pet shop , not cool of her Today we tried to call her and asked her to see if they had pee mats for my dog she was being so rude towards my bf over the phone call I’m very disgusted and disappointed nobody shouldn’t have to deal with that

Great place - air conditioned / heated kennels and shaded dog runs (and a kiddie pool when it's really hot). Lots of space for the furry kids to play.

Good value they have a very nice place for the pups! Very fair rates for what you get and they are very nice people.

My pup, Odin, always has the best time with the staff and other dogs at Lucky Leash. He always comes home exhausted! I love the videos they post on their Instagram, I enjoy watching him running around and having fun. Lucky Leash has helped an incredible amount with Odin’s separation anxiety and we are so thankful. They always go above and beyond and have amazing communication. Pictured is a post day care car snooze.

We LOVE taking our Ruby to Lucky Leash. We know Ruby is always in good hands when we drop her off with Leanne and Monique. We’ve been bringing Ruby ever since she was 6 months old and she’s been loving it since! Highly recommend taking your pup to Lucky Leash, your pup will have a great time :)

Leanne and her team are the best! My sweet street rescue loves her time at Lucky Leash - she HATES car rides, but if we say 'Lucky Leash' she perks up and jumps right in! She has so much fun and is exhausted when she comes home. We've also noticed that she is so much more confident and curious and much less nervous - we attribute that to her time at Lucky Leash. 10/10 recommend to everyone!

As a first time pet owner, lucky leash was a game changer for me. I just got my pup in January and as the primary caretaker I felt panicked , not knowing how to entertain her day in and day out. I heard about lucky leash, a new doggy day care that had just opened up so I called and spoke with Leanne, the owner who was super informative and kind to me. I dropped my pup off the next day and Leanne greeted me with warmth and care. My pup was only 4 months old at the time and not well socialized with other dogs so it was scary at first but with the help of the other dogs being so friendly and Leanne +team guiding the pups through play time , things got easier. A day at lucky leashes makes a difference in my whole week with plum. even one day of socializing is enough to get Plum tuckered out and feeling well mannered and happy for the rest of the week. Thanks Leanne and team for all you do! Plum loves you and we’re forever grateful.

Such a great place! My dog is usually quite timid around new people but the staff are great with dogs and she warmed right up to the new environment. Monique was there when I picked up my dog, and made the experience for me as a dog owner (of a fearful dog) feel reassured and grateful to have taken my dog there. Thank you so much!

Leanne and her team are amazing. I have a 5 month old Bernedoodle and she is beyond excited as soon as she sees me head in the direction of lucky leash on the highway and never wants to leave when it's time to be picked up. They are also honest and genuinely a pleasure to deal with, Leanne offered a discount to me I was not aware I qualified for which was refreshing. At times it can feel like businesses are trying to squeeze every last dollar out of customers and not pointing out ways to save you a few bucks. But the most important thing is they are amazing with my Puppers and genuinely a breath of fresh air to deal with 👍🐾

Dog Marley loves Lucky Leash! Every time we pull up she is so excited to go in to spend the day with her friends. This is a great place to leave your dog for the day - I know I am leaving Marley in good hands every time I drop her off.

Tulip loves to see her friends at Chico's. She is a rescue and is usually scared and aggressive towards strangers but she immediately was comfortable here and now it's her favourite place to go.

Working with Jodi and Darwin was fantastic! I would highly recommend Chico's Place to anyone looking to board their dog in the Krestova area! I have a reactive Australian Cattle Dog and had never boarded him overnight prior to at Chico's Place. From our first call, Jodi instilled confidence in me that she had the expertise to accommodate his needs. She was very accommodating of my drop-off and pick-up times, even waiting for my arrival at the front gate to the property. During his stay (~ 30 hrs), I received photo updates that also helped settle my mind - which were very much appreciated. If in the future I am in the area again, I would definite use their boarding and day care services again.

I felt so comfortable leaving my dog at Chico’s place. Jodi is so friendly and good with the dogs. She gave me a tour of the place when I arrived, and I was really happy with what I saw. Jodi was really helpful and accommodating when I was too sick to pick my dog up on the day I had arranged, and she didn’t hesitate to let her stay another night. I will leave my dogs there again in the future. Also, great rates. I would highly recommend Chico’s Place :)

I dropped off my older Brittany Spaniel for a week while I was on a ski trip and Jodi was great. He was allowed to hang inside because it was a colder week. She sent me a couple updates even though I was out of service but I received them when I returned. I would use Chico's place again if I am in the neighborhood.

Chicos place is a fun and safe place . I put my little Shorky there 5 days a week and he loves it. Is always so excited to be there when we drop him off in the morning and tied out when I pick him up. Jodi and Darwin are great people and really care about their dogs and every dog they look after as if they were their own . Highly recommend this place . Lots of yard and woods for your pet to run around in. Thanks Jodi and Darwin!!

I recently needed a very last minute safe, happy, and caring place for my pup Vader. Jodi was amazing! Jodi responded to my emails/texts right away and was able to do a meet and greet with me and Vader to ensure a good fit. While Vader was there, Jodi reassured me that he was healthy and happy. She sent me pictures, gave me updates, and was very accommodating when I asked to extend my pup's stay.

My pup enjoys her days at Chico's, she gets excited as we approach in the morning. Lots of secure space to run and play. I'm confident she receives the attention she requires to stay safe and happy. Jodi is awesome!

Beware of these frauds. My partner and I needed to go away for a night and half a day where we could not bring our beloved dogs. We visited them and both sides agreed that we bring the dogs on Saturday late afternoon. When we arrived at 4 nobody was home. We came back two hours later and they were still gone or at least did not open their door. Their dogs were running around in their yard, with filled up food bowls on the porch. Very disappointing! This get away was important for us and we had to stay home. They also did not answer the phone anymore. This is not how you do business. Not recommended!!

Awesome pet store! It's off the main drag, and not in the mall, but that means they will probably have it in stock, where other stores may not...lots of parking too!

Huge selection of just about everything you can imagine for the care, welfare & enrichment of dogs, birds, cats & small (rats, gerbils, rabbits, etc) pets. They don't stock the ONLY ferret food my picky Horatio insists on, but they can special order it. Given this, I would guess they can order other items if you can't find what you are looking for. 2 things I can't comment on are : 1. If they SELL any pets, but likely do as every other Total Pet I have been to does 2. If the 2nd level is wheelchair accessible

staff is very knowledgeable and work very hard to keep the store Stocked. They love seeing animals come into the store and will do whatever they can to help you get the right stuff for your pet. Their sales are very good as well :D Bring your dogs!

Nelson has no shortage of pet stores, so the ones they do have seem to go out of their way to provide good selection. This was our go to pet store in Nelson because of price, selection and rewards program. Not a fan of the birds in cages upstairs that never get sold bit what do you do? They seem well taken care of at least.

Best place in town to get anything for pets (we have dogs) but amazing people that work there and make you feel right at home the more you go! So fantastic! Only place we try to get our dogs food!

Good store lots of stuff a little more warehouse than the one in the mall some stuff is pricey like anything for pets but pet owners are used to that buy a bell in a craft store. 25 cents same bell in a pets store $6 It's like that at total pet but you can't beat the selection of foods you're pet could probably eat for a year never having the same flavour twice

The people here are friendly but getting the products I need is a problem these days. I have had an item ordered for me for over a month. It still has not shown up. Found it a Pet Store in Castlegar.

I have my dog at Sam's Pet care at least once a week, often over night and for extended stays up to 7-10 days at a time. My dog is absolutely well cared for and loved. She is thrilled to spend time with them, and I feel they always have her/our best interest at heart. I trust them with my furry family member absolutely!

Best service ever! Sam & Janis go above and beyond for their clients - human and furry. Excellent communicators, compassionate and caring. Very reasonable rates. We are lucky to have folks like them take care of our little girl when we're away. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Fantastic dog care I highly recommend! Myself and Stuie have been a client of Sam's Pet care for over 10 yrs. There is nothing more assuring, than to see your pet getting so excited to get out of the car and join Sam and the others! The care and treatment of pets is outstanding. Treats people absolutely terrible. Insulting them for losing a pet then taking to personally harassing them. Don’t Take your pets to someone who has little care for humans, as how would you want someone like that taking care of your pets.
