I starting sending my dog Mimi on hikes with Lauren and she has absolutely loved it! Mimi is a rescue who can be a bit timid with people and gets nervous alone when no one is home, Lauren has been so great making sure Mimi is comfortable and she always comes home happy and tired! I definitely recommend getting your pup on hikes with them!

I take my dogs to work with me 4 days a week and I thought my dogs were very happy to live this life until I started to hire Pinnacle for the 1 day they stay home. Well now I think my dogs would rather stay home because they think that means Lauren will come to get them for their hike. My youngest dog is a rescue and was very timid with other dogs but after spending time with Lauren and the pack her confidence has sky rocketed and she LOVES being out with other dogs.

Lauren and Myles have been taking great care of our golden retriever, Koda, since his first adventure hike with Pinnacle Pets as a puppy. He loves them both (gets excited at the front door when he hears Lauren’s name) and always gets a great workout. Koda started staying with L&M when we were traveling out of town because we knew they’d care for him like their own dog. Since moving further up the island we still make the side trip to Port Alberni whenever he needs overnight care. We really appreciate how Lauren always sends photos of their adventures during his stays. Would enthusiastically recommend Pinnacle Pets to anyone who wants to feel confident that their pup is always in great hands!

Lauren and Myles are simply amazing! Not only has my dog made so many new dog friends but, I also have the privilege of getting to know the owners of Pinnacle Pets. They take such pride in their work and it shows. Very knowledgable about the areas in which they are hiking, as well as the dogs that they have with them. We have been using pinnacle pets for around 2 years now and it is the best decision we ever made for our fur babies! Lauren cares about our dogs like her own! We have used her over night stay service multiple times and our dogs go for weekly hikes and I cannot recommend enough! We don’t know what we would do without her.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Levi has been going with Pinnacle pets for close to 6 months now and he is the happiest guy when Tuesdays come around. (I feel like he knows it's Tuesday). Always comes home out of energy and super snuggly. Lauren and co are great at what they do and always on time!

We don't normally leave reviews online, but wanted to do so for Sheena because we were so impressed! We found Mountain View Kitty Cottage online when looking for somewhere for our one year old cat Gus to stay for four days while we were in Tofino over xmas. Gus had never even spent one night away from us prior to staying at the cottage and so we were very nervous about our trip. Sheena helped us through this by sending us regular updates and pictures (and even a video) of how he was doing (see below for just a few of the pics of Gus during the stay). She took the time to get to know his personality and treated him with love and care even though he is slow to warm with strangers and he can't always give much back. We were able to relax and enjoy the holiday knowing he was safe and well cared for. The cottage is very clean, new, and bright inside with lots of large windows. The cat rooms have tall ceilings and look a lot like our house at home- with vinyl plank floors and a regular house door (with a window in it), a window sill to lounge on. There are little cat doors between rooms and since the room next to Gus was empty Sheena opened the adjoining cat door so that he had two rooms and two windows. She didn't charge us extra for this, and she even gave Gus a little bag of presents (which he loved) to celebrate Christmas. Sheena was super communicative and fast to respond to messages. Drop off and pick up times were flexible. When we had to change the time we picked up Gus because the roads were getting snowy and we needed to leave earlier than expected, she was nothing but kind, understanding, and accommodating. Thanks Sheena! We will be recommending this business to anyone looking for a great place for their cat to stay. -Gill and Ryan

I have known Sheena for many years and was delighted when she opened Mountain View Kitty Cottage & Pet Services. I was in the midst of moving and my four kitties stayed with her for the chaos night of packing and setting up my new place. It gave me such piece of mind that I knew my kitties were in a safe and calm space while I dealt with all my stuff. When I picked up my kitties from their sleepover, they were relaxed and calm and ready for their new home. Sheena kept me updated throughout the evening and it was absolutely wonderful knowing my fur babies were content. I will absolutely bring my kitties there again when the opportunity arises that I can travel and have a night away. My senior lady requires medication daily and as Sheena is also fully capable of administering meds, this was an added bonus. The facility is new and well thought out with comfortable sleeping zones and play areas. Sheena has paid close attention to detail and all things that make kitties comfortable.

Sheena has been our pet sitter for years. She is highly qualified in her medical training and experience. She provided excellent care for our senior cat that had special medical needs. Let them put all your worries away with a stay here. Sheena is a pawsitively purrfect choice to make to care for your fur babies. My mom gets pictures and updates and she loves that. Sheena has taken care of me and my sister for three years and Mom says she has no desire to go anywhere else. With her bubbly personality me my sister, and mom absolutely adore her. Mom says her vacation is so much more enjoyable knowing that we are probably having a better time then she is. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

Just the PERFECT place to leave your dogs or cats during your absence. This place is owned by a fantastic couple passionate about the animals & I couldn’t find a place like this anywhere else. The kennel & cat cottage are clean, animals have all they need. I just highly recommend this place! A paradise for any pets in earth.

Best Friends dog kennel was great! The place was clean, well kept and their small facility means the dogs receive more care. The pens are a normal kennel size and the owner was very friendly and careful with our instructions. The pictures of their site are an accurate representation and everything was well described online. Most importantly, they were honest with us and provided important feedback that our dog did not enjoy being kennelled. It was his first time and we just wanted to try and see how he did. I was impressed with how straightforward the owner was with us and I felt happy knowing that they’re prioritizing the welfare of the pets.

They looked after our dog for 5 days while we were moving and we couldn't have been happier. The owner is very good with dogs and the facilities are large and well maintained. Each dog has their own indoor and outdoor space and in front of the dog cabins is a large play area surrounded by trees. The owner also does a very good job dealing with dogs of different temperament and worked with ours who is a bit more shy when meeting new dogs to integrate him into the group. We will definitely use them again.

The owners are extremely friendly and caring. The facilities are also very clean and we loved the set-up for the dogs. We left our dog feeling very confident he would be well looked after. We came back to the news that he was very anxious from our absence and was unfortunately very vocal. The owner tried to keep him calm by spending extra time with him and even took him along while doing chores. I would highly recommend this kennel for looking after your pet when you are unable.

We have entrusted our pack (3 huskies) to David and Janice for a few years now. The individualized care, close attention to their needs and respect for their unique personalities enables us to travel with great ease of mind. At one time, we had a much-loved elderly female husky with significant requirements and yet we know she was very well cared for while at Best Friend Dog Care (aka "camp"). One thing that is very important to us is that the kennel has someone available overnight -- which surprisingly is not the case with many other kennels. (What would happen in an emergency?!) Also, some kennels encourage "open" play between unfamiliar canine guests (sometimes without supervision). Yet we found that our young male was injured twice in that type of environment. We are very happy with the approach and set up at Best Friend. We have also tried other kennels that have been highly recommended, only to find that well-labelled meals were missed and the special diets for our two boys were mixed up!!! That's not the case at Best Friends - ever!!! To us, our huskies are family members but together we know they can be a challenge. However, we have never had any reservations leaving them at "camp" in David and Janice's exceptional care. Another endorsement comes straight from the dogs themselves who literally can not wait to get out of the car at "camp" and barely glance back at us. When we pick them up, they are happy, well fed and full of happy howls over their adventures at "camp". Highly recommend.

Wonderful place to bring your Pet. I used their service for a week for my dog and i can't confirm what Mia Zimmermann is stating at all. The Kennels indeed have windows and every dog gets it's own bed to sleep in. So no dog has to sleep on concrete. The staff is really careful with the animals and respects the personal needs of every animal. The dogs get way more excercise and one on one time than what you would expect compared to any of their competitors around. My experience was without a doubt excellent.

We take our dog Cedar here when we go on vacation, and she is always excited when we arrive! We rest easy on our trips away knowing that Cedar is getting the BEST care and attention. David gives her lots of one on one attention playing ball in the field. We feel so lucky to have such a great place to take our Cedar girl.

My 2 dogs have been frequent borders at these kennels they are clean and the dogs have every luxury even piped in music. If you like they are teamed up with other dogs at playtime but if they are loners and not very social the people who work there will play ball with them so they get enough exercise. even he beds are very comfy with microfiber blankets. As soon as we pull into the driveway they get so excited they are on holiday too

We went to check this place today with our pup. From the outside, it looks like you're entering a 5-star resort. But very soon you find out, that your dog will be placed in a small concrete, 1 x 2 square meter unit with no lights or window. The room has a back door and I thought that leads the dog to the big fenced park. No. Just another tiny outdoor claustrophobic place. According to the girl who met us, the dogs are let out 4 times a day; 8.00 am for only 10 minutes. 12.00, 4.00, 8.00 for about half an hour. So, out of 24 hours my dog will see the daylight little over one and half hour, unless he is OK to lay down on a concreted narrow area attached to his little place. I looked around' there was more than one fenced yard and these dogs are locked a huge majority of the day in the "jail" Listening to each other bark. We also met the owner; the staff seems to be very friendly. But the set up is the worst I have seen. The way they operate, it is animal abuse.

This is truly the only 5 Star dog hotel on the island. My dogs love it here, and when I travel I get good communications should anything need to be addressed. They follow the feeding rules and keep my dogs healthy and happy. No better place to be.

We left our precious fluff ball Joey Joe the cat at Errington for an extended stay and picked him up today. What can I say he is calm fluffy well groomed well fed the epitome of a pampered puss. The staff at Errington went out of their way to make sure he wasn't lonely he received so much love. As an anxious cat purrent 😎they put up with my constant emails enquiring for his health and answered with pics and details. Every instruction re food grooming and special needs was met...We cannot thank all the staff at Errington enough so much appreciated a special shout out to Michelle. We will not be leaving Joey Joe anywhere else ..I might add we are on the mainland but the car and ferry journeys was absolutely worth it and we will be returning Kindest regards to all Maria Wayne and JJJ🐾

I boarded my pet at Errington Pet Lodge for the first time a couple of weeks ago. The staff are professional & welcoming, & the stalls for your pets are very clean & well managed. There are separate areas for both big & small dogs, & each have a roomy backyard where they can all run & play outdoors. Two hours 12 - 2pm are devoted to attending to the dogs & their play time. I'm impressed with this facility overall, & I feel my pet was given the attention & care needed to make her feel at home. I will definitely use this facility again.

Our family have been taking our animals to Errington Pet lodge for many years. It has been great to see the improvements that Tara and James have made since they purchased it. Our two cats Phoebe and Olive have spent the last couple of months there since we are in a moving transition. They are so well cared for there, the enclosures are always clean and tidy. I would never take our cats anywhere else. We will miss them!!

We would never have our dog stay anywhere else other than this amazing place. The owners and staff are professional, kind, honest and go above and beyond. The facilities are clean and the animals in their care are healthy and happy. We have a high energy pure bred lab who loves people and other dogs and we never worry that he won’t be looked after and cared for any differently than he would be at home. They have earned our trust in a world where that is hard to do. I would recommend the Errington Pet Lodge to anyone and everyone we know.

We visited Errington Pet Lodge (unannounced) twice before entrusting them with care of our 2 small dogs & cat. The facility is aging, but super clean & odor free. The staff are calm, knowledgeable, & confident. Our 3 pets spent just over 2 weeks @ Errington Pet Lodge & came home looking well cared for & feeling just fine. We had both dogs bathed & one groomed prior to check out. They both looked great. This was our first experience with boarding and it was a good one. We will definitely use this facility again.

My dog was well cared for and loved at Errington Pet lodge, between the daily walks the exit baths and the country setting the lodge has it . Sadly we moved from the Island and it took us 9 months to find a kennel even comparable. The team there is pretty amazing.We miss the Island and Errington Pet Lodge. Thanks Tara and James

This was the best boarding experience that we have had for our two small dogs in many attempts (with different places). They have great facilities and a caring staff. We travel to the Parksville area a couple times per year and feel that we have found our boarding facility for when we cannot take the dogs with us. We went towards the end of the summer and found the facilities clean and exceptionally well kept. The dog obviously ate appropriately and settled very quickly when they returned to us. They ran around said goodbye to the staff when we left. Very much appreciated Tara and James and we will see you in the future.

Amazing staff, and facilities! The place is super clean, large spaces for dog boarding and big yards for then to play in. The staff are super accommodating and take great care of our dog, who needs some special care. We feel comfortable having them look after our doggo.

Wonderful accommodating staff and a great location! Our dog loves to spend the day at the daycare and has to be sure to hug each staff before he leaves. He gets excited as soon as we pull onto the road. He gives it 4 paws up!

We had a great experience with Nansey providing walking services for our elderly dog, Cadence. She was even able to accommodate a meet and greet on fairly short notice; we appreciated that she took the time to understand the needs of our dog. We loved receiving the cute photos/videos as well. It was great having peace of mind and knowing our dog got the exercise she needed. I’m sure we will utilize her services again :)

I was delighted to find out there was an in-home alternative to a boarding kennel for our beloved pup for the duration of our recent family vacation. Nancey took great care of him. She kept me updated via text and sent photos and videos regularly. It was a huge bonus that our dog's stay with Nancey overlapped with another dog's, and the two of them played happily all week long. I wouldn't hesitate in having Nancey care for our dog again. Thank you for your good loving care Nancey and for keeping me so regularly updated!

Nansey was very kind to accommodate us for a last-minute request to keep our dogs before we had to travel. She took very good care of our two dogs, though she had a little trouble with them on leash because I've been lax lately with my training (sorry Nansey!). They usually run freely in our yard and aren't used to being on leash very much. She sent us good updates and photos for the few days we were away, which we appreciated very much. Overall, a positive experience.

Nansey is a very caring and detail oriented dog sitter. She follows all the rules I have for my dog which is very important for a young puppy. I'm very happy for her help!

Nansey did a wonderful job caring for our dog Louie when I had to travel for work. Louie is an elderly chihuahua who needs daily medication and I was nervous about leaving him with a pet sitter. Nansey is kind and patient, she answered all of my questions beforehand and provided photos of Louie and updates while I was away. It was great to see him snuggled right up to her and sleeping on her lap! I would definitely recommend Happiest Pup Pet Services.

Our little boy Bernie had a great time staying with Nansey. He can be slow to warm up to new people, but he was comfortable with Nansey right away. We really appreciated the updates, photos and videos that Nansey sent while we were away.

Nansey took the time to meet with our highly anxious pup Ellie a couple times before she stayed the night to help her with the transition. We're grateful to have a good sitter nearby that's willing to work with Ellie's stranger danger. Ellie was nervous at first but had lots of fun during her stay.

Nansey is a highly professional, trustworthy person who has always given my pup the very best service. She sends videos of her visits and to see my usually anxious dog greet her with enthusiasm tells me the Nansey has formed a bond and is welcomed by my little one! I am often gone for an entire day and hiring Nansey to care for my girl alleviates a tremendous amount of worry for me, knowing that she is in good hands with an obvious animal-lover! I cannot express the gratitude I have for Nansey. I have an extremely anxious rescue and I've had such difficulty finding care for him because he is so sensitive to his environment and doesn't handle being away from his humans well. Thirty minutes after I dropped Winston, Nansey sent me this photo. Definitely not a photo of an anxious dog. I also really appreciate the photos and strong communication after I dropped him off. I was able to relax, knowing my best friend was happy. Nansey really gets it. :,)

Family vacation on the Island and could not find a pet-friendly place - we boarded our border collie puppy (high maintenance!!) with Tom & Lucy for almost 2 weeks with some visitation and outings. Tom was fantastic in managing the puppy dynamics in a very thoughtful, patient, and loving way and Lucy was so gentle and tolerant. Lucy is a little savant and Tom truly understands dogs. He was responsive, reliable, and easy to talk to. We strongly recommend their service.

Tom took my Lucy kinda last minute & she was ‘family’ immediately. He kept me aprised with updates the whole time. Replaced a harness that she got out of. Sent pictures. Was sensitive to my hospitalization situation & as flexible as one could ask for. Excellent reports, prompt to answer calls & messages. Great prices. Beautiful fenced backyard…. I recommend him, will use him again with zero hesitation

Tom is a lovely person and loves dogs! His little beagle Lucy is very cute and friendly. They both take excellent care of our dog! When we walk our dog past Tom's house, he drags us to the door!

First time our dog was boarded, they told us not to come back. Tom and the luscious Lucy, the beagle, welcomed him into their house and onto Lucy's couch. Walks, treats and fun. We'll be back. Thank you Tom and Lucy.

If you're considering an in home pet sitter then Amanda is truly the only choice! Her professionalism and attention to level of detail has been unmatched in our experience. We've been taking our pets to a kennel for the last 10 years, but since we moved to the Oceanside area and as they are getting old we decided to try having a sitter come to them (and Amanda was highly recommended to us).. we couldn't be happier! Amanda sends us daily updates on how they're doing (including pictures), is comfortable giving our special needs dog and cat their medicine, and provides tons of play time and cuddles. Perhaps most telling, she's won over the heart of our old male cat. He's incredibly shy with strangers and hides from everyone (my own family members have only seen him a handful of times in the last 12 years), but Amanda had him cuddling up to her after her 3rd visit. We cannot say enough good about her or her services and feel so lucky to have found her! THANK YOU AMANDA!

Just returned from a holiday. Amanda was our cat/house sitter for 10 days, and she was wonderful!!! Did a pre-trip meeting, and she was organized, professional, personable and a "natural" with our cat. She sent photos every day of our kitty playing with toys she had brought over, brushed up and looking great! She was very reassuring, and we were able to completely relax on our holiday, not worrying about anything with her here. Very good communication about our cat and house. Highly recommend Amanda, she is a true gem, and we were lucky to have her!

I am so glad I have met Amanda. We can leave for a few days or a few weeks knowing that our cat Mohelie is happy and pampered ! Having Amanda take care of my pets was the best decision I ever made. At our meet and greet I knew my pets and home would be in safe hands. Amanda has taken care of my dog, Kodah and cat, Joey ( since he was a baby) for a year. In that time she has become part of our wee family and my close friend. I got daily updates of my furbabies playing outside or snuggling indoors with Amanda. She went above and beyond with tidying up after my pets and after me! I HIGHLY recommend Amanda and her cat sitting service. We LOVE our furbabies and we are also pretty private people so having a stranger come into our home while we were away was unsettling to us. Amanda’s professionalism at our meet and greet, however, completely put us at ease. She was well prepared and her attention to detail was above par. While we were away; the daily report was amazing! We got pictures and a little update to see our babies and put our mind at ease that they were doing ok. Upon return home the final report was an unexpected pleasant surprise and our cats were clearly well taken care of. We are a younger couple in our 30s with a young family and limited budget. Amanda’s rates were extremely reasonable, amazing value for money, and easily added in to the vacation expenses. My husband and I both work in customer service and can attest that the level of service she provided is beyond reproach. 10/10 & 5 stars!!!! Thank you Amanda, we are repeat clients for life.
