Dog Sitters in Reamstown, PA

I took my dogs here for 3 years. I was told that my Pitt barks too much at the other dogs and they fear for the other dogs safety and they would no longer take her. My Pitt lives with a Shepard with out issue. She plays with other dogs and is sweet to my toddler. I would assume my dog would be secured by herself during her stay. Outside of this the hours are odd and the price is high anyhow.

Just had our very first awesome experience with Goldner’s. They handled our two German Shorthair Pointers very well for an extended stay. Their pricing is very practical and they allow intact dogs - which made our vacation enjoyable and stress free! Be aware that they are a smaller facility so no automated confirmation emails or reminders - I did confirm a few times via email just to be sure before their stay (they always responded quickly) and everything was in order for drop off and pickup - no issues!

Owner has odd hours, she is rude and doesn't ask for papers regarding shots for all dogs she deals with, but allows them near eachother while they are waiting to be picked up. She doesn't document her appointments very well (she doesnt keep records of pups she has seen and how often they have been there) she always seems stressed and unpleasant and in a hurry. I wouldn't board a goldfish at this establishment.

Top Dog has always treated our dogs with love, Dozer our 9month old recently stayed 4 days and zero issues.

Linda and Edward are the best. Our dog Bridget love going there. Edward give her play time and we always get her bathed while there. It is so nice to feel comfortable with leaving a loved one at this facility! I totally recommend Goldners Top Dog!

Let me begin by saying I don't write many reviews; however, I want people to know that Goldner's Top Dog is TOPS! For many years I had an in-home pet sitter. Believe me when I say she was wonderful with all my animals. I adore her and would highly recommend her. After adopting a dog with a loving personality, we became aware that he did not play well with others. He was fine with other dogs, but was questionable with other people. Because of his unapproachable attitude, my pet sitter and I agreed it just wasn't going to work. A few months later I called Goldner's and explained my situation. They were very understanding and took special interest in working with me and my dog. We started slowly by leaving him overnight. During that time Goldner's got to know him and his personality, know what to expect, and what triggers his fear. As of today, he still gets scared and has days were he just doesn't want to be bothered by people, but I know he is in the best of hands. Goldner's is TOPS. They go out of their way to make sure your dog is happy and comfortable. Whether it's boarding or grooming, your dog will be loved and well taken care of.

Just picked our 2 pups up yesterday after a 7 day stay. This was the first time using Goldner's and when we would pick them up from the previous kennel that we used on several occasions, they both seemed very anxious. Even dropping them off at Goldner's, they were much calmer. When we picked them up they were happy and completely stress-free. Obviously well cared for and loved while we were away. Can't wait to try their grooming services too!

I have been taking my Yorkie to Linda for over 2.5 years now. My pup came from a puppy mill and was attacked by a bulldog when he was a baby. He’s anxious, an escape artist and not a social dog. I am afraid to leave him with just anyone (and I won’t). Linda, her family and team are angels. My dog literally bounces to the door with a smile on his face because he just cannot wait to go to “puppy camp.” They are kind and gentle, and I trust them without a doubt. I travel for work often and they’re accommodating on short notice, flexible with changes and Harry Houdini always comes home smelling like a dream and looking adorable. She’s a great groomer and operates a safe and clean kennel, but most importantly she’s a dog person. Harry only had one challenge here in probably over 60 stays by now... Linda called immediately about his tummy issue and took care of him with rice and chicken until he felt better. I’m moving next week, so I thought I would leave this review in hopes anyone else out there who’s an overprotective dog mom or dad will give this small business a chance. We will miss Linda but are grateful for all their hospitality over the years.

Daisy loves her stays at Goldner's! Clean facilities and friendly staff.

I took my Bichon to Goldner's Top Dog last week for a grooming appointment, and he looked great! You could tell the groomer really cared for my dog well because he seemed very happy when I picked him up. I also brought him there for a weekend boarding and everything went smoothly and he loved having his play time outside!

We were nervous to leave our rescues here for vacation but we knew they were in great hands. The facility and grounds are clean and the staff is super friendly. The doggos came home happy and sleepy! Both of their grooms during their stay were great as well. Special thanks to Dee for your reassurance!

Everyone at Country Pet Hideaway is friendly, helpful and caring! The staff is wonderful and my dog always has an amazing time. Whenever we pull into the driveway he is so excited to see the staff and when we pick him up he is pooped! Highly recommend!!

I don’t think we will ever not go here! They are absolutely wonderful and our pup loves it there. We always feel safe leaving our baby there and know and trust he will be taken care of. They are very accommodating and very sweet. Highly recommended.

Daisy Mae loves to stay here. The girls think she's sweet... I think she's ornery. Lol! Melissa does a great job with trimming Daisy's nails, she knows how to handle her. The kennel is always clean and well kept. Country Pet Hideaway is the only place Daisy has ever stayed at. Very professional staff.

The condos are great for long stays if you want to take a vacation and have a nice, safe place for your dog. I have two complicated English bull terriers and I’ve begun to feel very confident leaving them at the hideaway.

We always know our dogs are in great hands and we can go away on vacation with peace of mind knowing our babies are with such a kind and caring staff. The grooming is always amazing as well! Would recommend to anyone and we already tell all of our family and friends how much we and our dogs love it there ! It is also the most beautiful property. Its like the pups are at a hidden getaway-hence the name!

Mindy and Melissa have cared for my three dogs since we got them and the oldest is 19. Melissa is the most caring groomer and the best groomer in at least the state. She is so gentle with my old boy, who is now blind. One of my dogs passed two months ago and she cried with me. The dogs love her and get excited when they see her and know they will get the best grooming there is.

We have used them for boarding our dogs over the years. We love the condos for our dog when we go on vacation. She is always excited to go.

Friendly service and always makes my dog feel comfortable, when he's nervous going in.

Katya worked with me very, very last minute & was professional from the start. She loved on our pup multiple times throughout the day with pictures sent to me every visit. Very excited to have someone local & running her own small business! Thank you again, Katya!

I have Katya cat sit my 6 cats when we are away. She is exceptional with her care. She loves my cats & plays with them when she is here. I am very particular about my fur babies, they are my family so having someone I can trust with them is monumental. I love her like a Granddaughter. The first time I met her I knew she would be absolutely great with my babies. She is the best there is!

Katya and her team are fantastic! She’s accommodated me on EXTREMELY short notice more than once, a total godsend. Her rates are extremely reasonable for the amount of care she does. I love getting the pictures of my sweet girl when she’s on a walk or snuggling on the couch. I’ve used her for drop-ins, dog walking and overnight boarding. All have been fantastic experiences.

My experience with Katya has always been super positive. Whether i’m giving plenty of notice or in a pinch, she is always willing to help. I have two guinea pigs, so finding care for them is harder than I had originally anticipated. After meeting for a consolation (which was so kind of her to offer), I have had a phenomenal experience with her care. My guinea pigs always return happy and healthy (sometimes sad that they’re leaving her). I just appreciate how attentive Katya is to their needs!! Highly recommend!!

I hired this company and I was told the fee was $150 total but the babysitter who came and showed up to collect the remaining money said oh no ma’am it’s only $120 and I had 150 in the envelope, I rearranged my vacation to go away on August 27 to the 30th so that I could use the same babysitter Until I found out that the owner would not let up on collecting that extra $30 she was bent on communicating with me every day to get a $30 fee when I gave them 120 because of the babysitter saying oh no, you don’t need to give 150 I gave $120 She says I’ll just use the extra 30 for my Tip. I had arrangements to meet the babysitter to pay her on Saturday and this owner Katika was relentless on trying to collect that additional $30 from me. I already had it set up between the babysitter and I we were doing just fine until Katika got involved so if you wanna Cooperative Company who has their act together who communicates with their employees so they don’t try to charge their client more money than I would say go elsewhere because the owner of this company is not someone you wanna deal with. They are more interested in getting your money than they are and taking care of your dog

Katya took wonderful care of our black lab while we were gone for a long weekend at the beach! She sent updates with photos or videos with every visit which was very reassuring to know he was doing well. Would definitely recommend Katya to care for your pets and will have her come back again!

Tawnia stayed at our house for 5 days while we were away! She watched our dogs, bearded dragon, & goldfish. She kept me updated on my fur babies and took such great care of them. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter. She is kind, caring and LOVES animals. She even left me a sweet note to let me know what occurred and what she did with the animals while we were gone. Honestly she allowed me to enjoy my vacation and not worry a bit about my animals because I knew they were getting lots of love! My dog Buckley is 12 years old and has never stayed with anyone except my brother. I was concerned he would be unhappy and worried staying anywhere else. He was very content and happy with Kat at Barks & Parks and seemed to bond with them right away. She sent pictures every day and updated me as to what she was doing with him. I felt very good knowing he was being taken care of and enjoying his stay. I would recommend Kat to give your fur baby a home atmosphere while you are away.

Kat was amazing with Noah during his 3-day boarding. I was immediately comforted when talking to her the first time, hearing about her experience and ambition in transitioning to animal care full-time. Her place was clean, spacious, with a quaint outdoor patio. Noah has separation anxiety so I was very nervous and picky about where he would stay. He was wagging his tail and happy when we picked him up. A 5-star experience! Thanks Kat!

This was our first time boarding our furbaby, Nala, so we were naturally a bit nervous. From the first moment we met Kat, she put us at ease and left us with the impression that she would love on our dog..and we were right! Every day, she followed our instructions and suggestions to a “T”; taking our dog on two walks a day, spoiling her rotten. I think Nala still misses her! 😂 if we are in need of boarding again, Kat will be our first choice and would highly recommend Barks&Parks Pet Services!

Kat took care of my dog as part of her doggie daycare service. She kindly both picked him up and brought him back to my home. While under her care they took several walks, and she shared pictures via a dog sitting app, which was awesome. When my pup returned, he was was happy and clearly had a great time. I definitely recommend Barks & Parks Pet Services based on my experience.

Our dogs love Kat and her boyfriend. One of our dogs gets excited anytime she gets in the car now, thinking she’s headed to daycare. 5 STARS!!! VERY Happy with this service! My dog Deanna is 10.5 yrs old and recently started having seizures (in March of 2022). We went on vacation in May and booked her with a local kennel (NOT this one). I couldn't confirm that they were or were not giving her her seizure meds, as when we returned & picked her up she had a seizure that night and several more a day afterward. Needless to say when it came time to go to Lancaster PA for a vacation in July which is 2.5 hrs from home, I was VERY worried on where I would leave her and what I would do if something should happen. THEN I found Barks & Parks Pet Services!! We drove out, dropped her off with Kat, and then went to our hotel which was 10 minutes away! Talk about convenience! Deanna had a WONDERFUL TIME there!!! She got along with the other dogs (which is not the norm!). When I first dropper her off the 1st day she seemed apprehensive which I expected. I did NOT expect to hear how well she was getting along with her new friends and how after a few days was fitting right in to her old routine! I wish I could leave her there ANY time we go away! This is a WONDERFUL alternative to a regular kennel. It is a regular house, where the dogs are in a more home-like environment as opposed to in a kennel. I highly recommend barks & parks!!

Kat’s service through Barks & Parks was exceptional!! Our little dog was walked and cared for so well, we were afraid she wouldn’t want to come home. We received twice daily updates on how she was doing along with the cutest pictures. We were incredibly pleased with Barks and Parks and would definitely use this home-like dog boarding service again!!!.

We take Grizzly and Tinker here for a few years now. It's the cheapest cost and very nice people. Plus right when we get there each time the dogs go nuts and get excited and wag their tails. They love going here!

Horton’s is easy to set up appointments and do a great job of grooming our fur-baby. He gets the full treatment and looks awesome when they are done. He also smells great too.

Alexis recently joined the outfit as a groomer and she is fantastic. We have an Australian Labradoodle with a finicky coat. We followed Alexis here from her old employer. Our pup loves her and she does a great job. We will now be regulars for sure.

Awesome place awesome customer service my dog is always clean and smelling fresh after his visit his nails are trimmed well and he gets excited when he gets there and he’s happy when he leaves. The owners definitely have your pets, best interest at heart.

We have used Hortons previously with the old owners and had a wonderful experience. However, since the new ownership we have had an awful experience. It was our dogs first time in a kennel. We called 3 times over 2 days leaving a voicemail each time to see how he was doing and we never got an answer or a call back. Therefore, we had our dog picked up early and when he got picked up they asked which dog he was. We also overheard the people in front of us and they said their dog didn’t eat while it was there and they did not call to tell the owner. I do not recommend this place at all.

I had a last minute work week in Ephrata, PA and Tammy was super responsive on answering my questions and being able to board my dogs for a week with just a few days notice. It was great being able to have them close by while I was down there, and Tammy was wonderful to deal with. The dogs were also excited to get there, and didn't even say bye to their mom. They were well cared for during their stay, and I will definitely be bringing them back any time I work in the area!

This was the first time we had used Horton's Kennel for our black lab, Cooper. I was hesitant, because he had never been in a kennel before & usually stays with family, but this time, the kennel was our only option. He was there for 10 days total. When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted to check him in, all was well with that. We enrolled him in the day care program so he could get out & play with the other dogs. The staff was very nice, reassuring and friendly. When we picked him up, I think he was more sad to leave than happy to see us! There was no issues whatsoever and the staff was super friendly and helpful. We would take him there again!

Have used Hortons twice this past summer for our Lab and have had good experiences both times. In addition to boarding, they offer play time and grooming, at affordable prices. The last time around our girl came home clean, happy and worn out. Will definitely return.

I have two “shorkies” with high maintenance that required extra time and energy for them to be satisfied fully. Due to my busy work schedule; I struggled with finding the time to burn their energy and of course potty training them Was a huge problem. I Requested a try-out service from jogs with dogs & Luckily; I was assigned to the most sweetest, patient, reliable and well trained Personel. Her name is “Imane” and I will not see myself changing to another company. My dogs are now happier, potty trained and way relaxed when I come home from work. I highly recommend this company and it’s staff!!! They are trustworthy, dedicated and full of love. Their dedication is for training, caring and giving all their love to our pets.

Laura came to petsit our 4 dogs while we were away for a week in August 2024. We were SOOO pleased with her services! We’ve now used Mortizen Family Pet Sitting twice and have had amazing experiences both times. After having a really terrible experience with a different pet sitter, we were extremely hesitant to trust someone with our three pups again. However, every single person that we’ve worked with or spoken to at MFPS has been exceptional to work with. They have clear communication and we really appreciated the follow up ensuring we were pleased with the service. We had a different sitter both times, but they both communicated thoroughly, sent pictures, and you could tell they loved up on our pups. Moritzen Family Pet sitting took care of my 5 month old puppy like she was a member of their family. I was initially nervous because my pup was so young, but Laura abated all my fears with her daily pictures and in depth notes daily after her visit. Wonderful experience with MFPS. My girls were well taken care of (along with flower and strawberry watering, mail and newspapers brought in). Eye drops given to one of my girls. Loved the twice a day updates. Communication prompt. When we got home and opened the door the girls facial expressions told us they were disappointed we were home. We left our elderly dog home for the first time last weekend with Laura from the Moritzen team and we can’t say enough positive things. She checked in with us along the way and was extremely thoughtful of Daisys health and safety. My mind was at ease completely within 5 minutes of her being at our house. I heard about Chris and Dale through a friend and she highly recommended them. We met with them and decided our puppy, Maverick would stay with them for our vacation. Chris was very patient with Maverick and sent me updates and pictures frequently. He’s also helping with training and it’s going well. We will be starting puppy daycare this week!!

Reese is very friendly and active. We needed her to have something to do during the day while we are at work and thankful we were told about Chris and Dale. She loves going to daycare and playing with all the other dogs. She goes 5 days a week and she’s like family to them. Chris and Dale are the BEST! I trust them completely with Reese.

I can’t put into words the peace of mind leaving Olley with Chris & Dale for 10 days brought me! They were in constant communication, sending updates and photos to assure me that my boy was doing well. They took such good care of him that we’ve already scheduled his next stay. Chris & Dale are absolutely terrific. My constant companion is Jake. He is 15 year old Jack Russell that is in great health but lost his hearing several years ago. That, his age and his tendency to get aggressive with other dogs made me nervous about leaving him in anyone’s care. They have now watched him several times and I have been completely at ease. Jake loves the other dogs and seems to enjoy his week long stays with them. They even were great about my computer generated instructions that may have made some people roll their eyes for sure! Thank you so much Chris & Dale for the love you show Jake, you guys are the best!

Chris and Dale watched our two boys for 9 days. Our vacation house changed weeks. Our normal sitter was no longer available. I didn't feel good about someone just coming to our house to let them out a couple of times a day. Thankfully, I found D&C Pet Sitters! Due to our boys being rescues, we did not want to board them. Sometimes, they do not do well with others. Our boys were welcomed to their family. They handled them so well. They were happy and healthy when we retured. Thank you so much!

My puppy has hydrocephalus so he takes just a little more patients than your average puppy. They were fantastic from the beginning. Even going to the extra mile to research hydrocephalus so they knew some of the issues before I arrived for the meet and greet! Cannot say enough positive things about them. I received pictures and updates daily while away on vacation. Highly recommended!

Dale and Chris were very helpful on short notice with our puppy Lola. They invited us over for an initial meet and greet with their pups before giving us the green light. They sent us pictures and updates to keep us posted on how she was doing. They also were very understanding about a few oop sees she had during her stay. We will definitely call them again in the future.

I have my puppy at Chris house while I went to Hershey park. My puppy is very shy and not good at socializing with other dogs, so I worried about him when he is not with me. Chris has been taken care of him well, giving him sweaters when taking him out, feed him and sending his pictures to me during the day, and I am much more comfortable and feel reliable when I am not with my puppy! Chris is very professional and I would recommend to my friends of this place!

Ali does a fantastic job training. Knox really needed to work on his basic commands- he is a very good and calm dog but learning things like stay, place, etc. needed to really be worked on. Doing a board and train really helped with these commands because Ali devoted the time to work on things in a home atmosphere. When Knox was finished she provided the tools and information needed to continue the training at home. Ali and Brianna are also quick to answer any questions during and after the program.

Maebh had an excellent boarding experience with Ali and even got to do a bit of training. Maebh is dog selective and slow to warm up to people, so it was very comforting to know she was being cared for by someone who really understands those quirks and how to best handle her. We are so grateful to For Them Dog Training for our recent boarding experience.

When we were freaked out by our newly adopted dog’s behavior and reached out to the rescue, Ali immediately contacted us and asked how she could help. I went from crying from the stress of the situation to feeling such a weight lifted off of us while cuddling our calm pup on the couch. I couldn’t have kept him without Ali’s help, she gave us the confidence in ourselves and in our dog plus the knowledge to help him thrive. We only had two sessions with her but she made herself available to us and we are beyond grateful. He’s still a pain in the butt sometimes but he’s trying! Thank you Ali and Brianna !

Ali and For Them Dog Training has helped us tremendously with our puppy, Fizz! He was an anxious mess with a lot of separation anxiety before he went to training. He also pulled like crazy on the leash. After a month of board and train, Fizz’s confidence has boosted tremendously, he’s an angel in the crate, and I can now walk him without him pulling my arm out of my socket! On top of this, they were very responsive to my worries about leaving him there for a month, I received all answers to my questions with professionalism and grace, and felt confident bringing the skills he learned in training back home with an amazingly thorough discharge plan. I cannot recommend For Them enough!

Ali has helped us so much with our wild and crazy pups! She came to our house and made all of our training sessions fit with what we wanted to work on and was always open to making changes if we wanted to work on other things. She trained not only our dogs but also us on how to work with our dogs ourselves! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog trainer, she is awesome!

Ali is the best! I have had my dog for 8 years and over the years have done many different attempts at training, but nothing stuck until Ali came to help us. She is so good at analyzing and patiently explaining a dog’s behavior and motivations for acting a certain way. The energy she brings to training allows you to feel comfortable asking questions and allows space for your dog to make mistakes and grow from them- and she offers tons of resources to support the journey! It has been such a relief working with her, and I am just so beyond grateful for all of her help. By far the best investment I’ve made in a long time and worth every penny!

When we first foster failed our pup Jelly Roll, we wanted to get him into training to have him be his best self. Since working with Ali, Jelly has gone from obsessing over eating leaves and barrelling down the sidewalk to being full engaged with us and walking in at our side. His confidence comes out more each day as we practice the drills Ali has taught us! We have also attended group classes with both of our dogs and our dog Theo who is reactive thrived with Ali’s help! I have loved seeing Jelly blossom and can’t wait to keep working with For Them Dog Training!

Highly recommend Ali! I have two large dogs who have completely separate issues. My one dog was awful on a leash. I could barely walk him. Ali taught me how to better communicate with him during our walks, and also introduced us to different types of collars and leashes, and we are finally able to enjoy walks while also walking with a loose leash! My other dog is extremely mouthy. With Ali’s guidance, I now know how to diffuse the situation when she becomes overstimulated. We also muzzle trained her which has been a huge help. So grateful for For Them Dog Training!
