Our dog was returned with no signs of stress (great!) although he was a little dehydrated (not great) and smelled like a kennel (not great) to the point he needed to be bathed. The staff are friendly, competent and always give an informed but informal report of how things went during his stay (great!).

Pup was taken well care of. The girls are so friendly! Gave me an email update with pictures while I was away for the week. He ran back in the building to say bye.

I just had my GSD stay at Del Norte for nine days and I must say he was well taken care of and my mind was at ease the whole time. I will definitely use this kennel service in the future. Thank you to all the caring staff

We have a fear reactive dog and they were able to accommodate his stay. He gets super excited apon arrival and is clearly well taken care of while on his visits. We will not go anywhere else for both our dogs :)

Our dog went for a last minute stay for a couple nights and they took good care of her. Everyone was friendly and the whole process was fast, efficient and made very easy to book, check in and pick up my dog. Will definitely be using again in future when needed!

Del Norte is looking after our Husky for 6 weeks and we can’t say enough for how attentive and great they have been! Allowing friends and family to stop by to visit him and to take him out/play etc. Kokomo loves going there and the staff are always so excited to see him.

Family vacation on the Island and could not find a pet-friendly place - we boarded our border collie puppy (high maintenance!!) with Tom & Lucy for almost 2 weeks with some visitation and outings. Tom was fantastic in managing the puppy dynamics in a very thoughtful, patient, and loving way and Lucy was so gentle and tolerant. Lucy is a little savant and Tom truly understands dogs. He was responsive, reliable, and easy to talk to. We strongly recommend their service.

Tom took my Lucy kinda last minute & she was ‘family’ immediately. He kept me aprised with updates the whole time. Replaced a harness that she got out of. Sent pictures. Was sensitive to my hospitalization situation & as flexible as one could ask for. Excellent reports, prompt to answer calls & messages. Great prices. Beautiful fenced backyard…. I recommend him, will use him again with zero hesitation

Tom is a lovely person and loves dogs! His little beagle Lucy is very cute and friendly. They both take excellent care of our dog! When we walk our dog past Tom's house, he drags us to the door!

Emily is amazing with our pets, very responsible and reliable! It's nice to have the peace of mind when you are away and receiving daily pictures and updates makes us feel in the loop and lets us know our pets are safe. I met Emily while working at a vet hospital and was impressed with her professionalism and kindness then so I feel extra confident she can handle our pets now with her enterprise. We have two senior cats and a senior dog that all need special treatment and meds and Emily as cared for them exceptionally on multiple occasions. On top of it all, she runs her business like a pro. Always getting back to us in a timely manner with very organized and easy to use reservation platform. I would recommend her to anyone who like pets in a heartbeat. Thanks Emily!

No Ruff Days is amazing, the owner, Emily, is very professional, caring, fun and probably my two dogs' favourite person (after their mama of course!) Emily has been looking after my pups 3 or so days a week for the last 6 months and she is a gem. I am never anxious about my dogs when they are in her care and I trust her completely in my home. She is communicative and provides updates and photos after each visit (a highlight for me when I'm at work). I highly recommend Emily and No Ruff Days for your four legged family members!

So glad I found No Ruff Days! Emily stayed at my place with my dog for about a week and my dog was certainly well cared for. She was prompt to communicate with me and from the daily updates and photos she sent, I could tell my dog was having a blast with her! I had travel delays coming home and Emily responded to my late-night call and did not hesitate to return to check in on my dog very early the next morning. She also offered to help with other things, such as watering plants while she stayed, and she left the place spotless! A very reliable and trustworthy service - highly recommend!

Being from the Yukon I was anxious about being in the city with my northern dogs. I cannot thank Emily enough for being someone I fully trust with the furry loves of my life. We have just recently become first-time dog owners and we weren't sure how to manage a puppy while working. Emily has given us great peace of mind when we need to leave our pup home during the day. Emily was fabulous with our pets! We have a large dog who can be reactive to other dogs, two cats [1 with special needs], and small flock of chickens. Emily took such great and professional care of all of them, and kept us updated while we were away. It’s such a peace of mind to have someone we can trust with our animals.

I've been handing over 2 large dogs to a very capable staff, no issues, and great care for two plus years running. Dogs can't wait to get there each time, tuckered out on the way home, perfect!

LOVE this place and would be lost without it! My Chocolate Lab full is full of energy and this is the perfect place for her. She is very tired when I pick her up at the end of the day, just the way I like her! The staff is very knowledgeable and kind with all the animals. They take the time to play with them and keep a good eye on the interaction with the other dogs. I find the cost very reasonable and the girls super easy to get along with. 5 stars in my book!

Been taking my small dog here for over 8 years and love how he's all played out and tired at the end of the day. The hours work well for work schedules. Lots of big dogs here but the Crew always make sure that dogs of all sizes are welcome and have a safe place to socialize.

My dog loves it and the ladies are fantastic. They are great about painting videos so you can see your furry friends having fun and are very helpful about accommodating your pet.

I take my boxer there once a week.. he LOVES it. He gets super excited when he realizes that he is going to the playcare for the day. The staff is fantastic and friendly. Tigger gets so tired from playing all day that my husband and I usually head out for the night (dinner, movie, climbing) without feeling bad on days that Tig goes to the playcare. We usually don’t do that during the week because Tigger has to stay home alone all day so we always feel bad leaving him, but not when he goes to the playcare. I do recommend Dog Star.. it's awesome.

Misinformed about their services was very disappointed travelling from out of town thinking the whole time they had a safe area for smaller dogs that dont like big dogs then to find out they have one huge room with tons of huge dogs that they were spraying in the face with water to get them to stop barking....might be a great place for big dogs but not tailored to a smaller pet

We are full-time RV'rs and Sprocket is in her 'yoda' years. We found Not Home Alone from the near-by vet. They walked our Sprocket, took Sprocket selfies sending me updates on the phone. She has two medications both they gave no problem and no extra charge for complex feeding instructions. We have used them one two occasions! The first time I left a tip for them-they GAVE me back change, LOL! (i gave them a tip originally because I found their pricing to be a bit low for what they are doing. Im self-employed and know how I value my own time. just honest folks.) Its so nice to go on a day trip to Vancouver and know i can take the late ferry back and not worry about Sprocket or my STUFF! This message is Sprocket approved!

Darryl and Janie are two of the kindest and most careful people you'll meet. They went out of their way to accommodate us on short notice, and our dog came back tired and happy after a good walk and a social day with four-legged friends. They'll take good care of your dog!

We were visiting family in Parksville, and they would come to our house twice a day, take Bart for walks and feed him his supper. They are very professional and know what they are doing. Brought my Pomeranian in for his regular groom. First time visiting Wild Tails and Cindi did a perfect cut! Their staff were all friendly, the common areas were clean, and my dog seemed very happy when I picked him up. Will absolutely be returning!

I took my 1.5 year old duck tolling retriever Bane to Wild Tails for grooming a week ago for the first time and they were amazing. I was so nervous to try a new groomer, but I wanted one closer to home. Tori was my groomer and she was fantastic. Tori came out into the waiting room to meet Bane and she sat on the floor with him for their meet and greet. Tori listened to all my concerns and explained things very thoroughly. When I left Bane didn’t even notice I was leaving because he was so comfortable with her! She did such a beautiful job grooming him, he was literally perfect! I heard great things about Wild Tails from a close friend which is why I chose them. Highly recommend Tori :)

Wild Tails did an amazing job with grooming my long-haired cat. Their communication was great but I was still a bit nervous as she's quite timid. I clearly didn't need to be though because she came back so happy. I can't believe the difference it's made with shedding - no more clumps of fur everywhere!

Great staff. You can tell they are all true dog lovers. My Brittany had a great haircut and we will definitely be back.

I have taken my golden retriever here twice in the last 6 months for a full groom. The first time was based solely on Google reviews, as they all sounded so positive! The groomer went over in detail with me what I was looking for, which was a full cut making sure to remove all of the feathering and long hair on my guy. After I had picked him up, I realized how long his hair still was and called to ask if it could be fixed - They were amazing and had him come right back in to fix it up at no charge, apologizing for the unfinished groom and applying a 20% discount for his next visit. Great customer service and I was SO happy with his final cut & the de-shedding lasted a very long time. I decided to bring him back again this past week, to utilize the 20% discount, and I am very disappointed and feel defeated again by the outcome. I was charged an extra $20 on top of the base rate for "excessive shedding", which defeated the 20% discount, and caused the price to go up. I fully realize a molting golden in the spring can produce a lot of hair, but this extra cost is not discussed prior to the session and I had assumed "de-shedding" to be apart of the normal grooming cost, as I was not charged extra his first visit. The final cut has missed huge portions of his feathering all along his side and belly, leaving him looking untidy and dishevelled 6 days post-groom, after it was clearly indicated that all of the feathering was to be removed and a "tight and tidy" cut was to be done - I explicitly asked for it all to be removed & very short this time. His shedding has not been reduced in the least (even though I was charged extra) and hair has been coming out in piles since the day after the groom. I feel defeated by the amount of money I have spent, just to yet again not have the desired outcome that was originally discussed during the assessment with the groomer. I do not leave reviews for businesses and usually suck this kind of stuff up, but after spending close to $300 (with tips) at a business and both times feeling disappointed afterwards, this has now created some frustration. *Response* Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the time you have taken to respond to my concerns. In response to your surprise at my review, as you can imagine, it can be quite uncomfortable for a customer to provide honest feedback in the presence of multiple staff members when standing at a counter waiting to pay. At that specific moment, I was more concerned with speaking to the groomer about the unexpected charges than I was with fully inspecting Koda for the length of his coat, which is not what the conversation was around - he looked lovely from the quick glance I took of him but it was not until I got home that I came to the realization that his coat was quite a bit longer than the last time he received the "tight and tidy" groom, and my disappointment and frustration grew from there. I assure you, if someone were to inspect his coat length at this point, it would be extremely apparent he did not receive a tight and tidy cut. I do not mind paying for an increase in price for a consistent grooming experience, it is more the fact that I have now paid a substantial amount for the deemed "shorter" cut but did not receive one, which has caused the unfavourable review from me, as well as the amount of hair that has continued to come off of him this past week. I will try to be more forthcoming in future interactions with businesses I utilize, ensuring I am completely satisfied with the services provided before leaving. Thank you for your time.

The staff are really friendly. They clip my dogs pipers nail, and she isn't the most cooperative. lol, they handle her really well. I can see how much they love each and every animal that comes in. They also groom our dog noctis the black pom, and he always comes back so soft and fresh!

Excellent service and definitely a pro. I've groomed my cat in 3 different places before coming here, and my experience was either a horrible, patchy trim, or my cat came out stressed and unhappy. But with Nanaimo Pet Services, yes the grooming took a while, but she really knew what she was doing. My cat came out a pretty lion with a handsome mane, and he was so calm and happy. The groomer really took her time to gain my cat's trust. Amazing and highly recommended!

Where to start?! Our 2 year old pup has been going on walks with Amy for about 6 months now. Amy has been so professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. If we need a referral for anything dog-related she knows her stuff. Also, our pup had some anxiety issues and they were quickly resolved with these magical trips with Amy. He greets her with a smile all the time. Amy's walks have helped improve his quality of life which is priceless. He is just a happy pup. We are so thankful we found her!

Amy has helped us immensely over the last couple of years, whenever we have not been able to provide daily adventures our border collie ourselves. He absolutely loves her and gets so excited when he hears her name. She has gone above and beyond to make sure he has a great time and make our lives easy. She has amazing and stable rates, communicates well, and most importantly always ensures our pup is safe and cared for, and he comes home tired and surprisingly clean for a dog frolicking around the forest/beach/fields 😂 I recommend Amy and her team to anyone in the westshore who is looking for a trustworthy, friendly, caring person to take your dog on off leash adventures or for overnight dog boarding.

Pacific Dogwood Dog walking is amazing! My pup Winnie has been a part of the pack for four months and I honestly can’t say enough good things about Amy and her staff. Winnie loves going on adventure walks with her new dog friends, and I especially love how tired she is afterwards. The amazing photos that Amy and her awesome staff take on the walks are a testament of just how much fun the dogs are having and also demonstrates how much control she has of the pack, it’s truly incredible. She treats every dog with love and kindness as if they were her own. I am completely worry free about leaving my dog in Amy’s care and highly recommend this service.

Amy and her crew are fantastic. Our puppy is high energy and his pack hikes are really helping us with his energy levels! He loves Amy so much he leaps into her arms when she arrives to get him. Any is brilliant. We are so happy to have found her after a very scary incident happened with another dog walker. She approached our situation with great patience and understanding - knowing that our dog Leroy might be scared of the whole pack walk experience. We have been using pacficdogwood for a year now. Amy and her team are wonderful, caring, loving, professional and attentive. Our dog Penny started going out for hikes with Amy at 1 years old it’s been a blessing in her overall training. Our dog is now a well socialized dog with excellent dog manners. Koko has such a fun, healthy, learning experience with "the pack" I feel guilty when her time is up and she has to come home. Amy is absolutely amazing! She has taken my pup Frankie on many adventures and sends me photos and updates when I'm missing her. She's one of the only people I trust to look after her when I'm gone. K9s Unleashed has been AMAZING for my Portuguese Water Dog, Nixon. He has endless amounts of energy and when I come home from work, he’s happy & tired! Anne is incredible with him. Within a few weeks, I noticed incredible behavioural changes in him. One of the big changes being that he doesn’t bark as much as he did in the past. I feel so confident not only leaving our dog with Anne but also giving her keys to my house! Nixon is in Heaven with her & so are we!

I was walking my dogs today and ran into Annie walking her pack of 8 very well behaved dogs, not once, but 3 times. She called the dogs and altered her route to give me space to enjoy my walk. On top of that, I could hear her talking to the dogs in a very kind and upbeat voice the whole time. It was a very positive experience!

Anne took my dog and myself in with open arms and was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond. I cannot say enough good things about K9s Unleashed. Anne is great, and both my pups absolutely adore her. They are beyond excited to see her when she picks them up for walks twice a week. Pick-up/drops off are so convenient, and the hikes are substantial. Harold and Hazel always come home calmer, happier, and healthier. Anne has always treated my pups like family. I have never had any concerns for their safety or wellbeing in her care. She is incredibly friendly and reliable, and her service is well worth it. My Beagle has been hiking with K9 Unleashed for 4 years. He always comes home tired and happy. I love being able to see his adventures at the end of the day through all the amazing pictures and videos Anne posts. It's also very reassuring knowing he is wearing a GPS collar on the hikes. Anne is kind, knowledgeable, responsible and professional; everything you would want in a person whom you trust with your pet. My dog is shy and fearful of new dogs but he jumps right in to Anne's van full of his pack mates. His recall on our off-leash walks has improved dramatically. Anne has been hiking our young springer spaniel for several months now and it has been a blessing! Our 1 year old Rupert was a runner on hikes and she handled him with such ease and he is now worlds better at recall. Her GPS collars gave me peace of mind as well. Such a great service to burn off some of that puppy energy while socializing and learning puppy etiquette. Couldn’t recommend more!

Anne Bright, K9s Unleashed, has been walking our dog, Teddy, for about 3 years now and we have been very pleased with her services. Teddy looks forward to his pack walk every week. He knows when Anne is about to come from watching our body language, and he goes to the door with his tail wagging waiting for her. Before the pandemic, when Anne would come right to the door to get him hooked up to his tracker, he did the cutest little excited squirming. It's clear that he gets a lot of exercise with her because when he gets home he has a nap, which he doesn't do even when we take him on a long walk. In our household Teddy gets about an hour and a half of walk every day, but we still send him with Anne so that he gets to socialize with other dogs. Every once in a while he'll meet one of his Pack Pals on a regular walk and the two of them will play for a bit before the walk resumes. Basically, if you want your dog to get extra exercise, and to make new doggie friends, and be well taken care of - we recommend that you send your dog with Anne!

Anne is amazing with our dog lola and i fully trust her. Lola loves her off leash hikes and cant wait to go. When she sees anne she gets excited and happily goes with her. When she returns she is happy and exhausted! It is a great service and could not say anything bad about anne and her coworkers. I would recommend k9 unleashed to anyone with a dog who is great with other dogs and loves being off leash.

Jackie has been taking our two dogs for regular hikes for about 2 1/2 years. She’s been great with them and they go nuts when she comes to get them. She’s also pet sat for us a few times. She’s very capable of looking after our 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 chickens and numerous fish. There was one incident where some (pardon language) a**hole left a bunch of garbage on a trail and our one dog cut her paw pad. Jackie communicated clearly what happened, administered pet first aide, stayed with our girl until she was settled, and left us a few supplies. Jackie also checked in throughout the week to see how our girl was doing. So overall we’re happy with the services Jackie provides and our dogs absolutely love her.

Dee’s Dogs is the best!! Jacky really knows how to pair dogs together for optimal fun during the walks, and the smaller group walks ensures all the dogs get special attention and love. My dogs LOVE hikes with Jacky, and are always super happy to run around with their buddies. Her house sitting is also extremely professional, and i wouldn’t trust anyone else when I go away. House was clean, dogs were happy, Jacky does a GREAT job all around!!!!

Jacky has been walking or dog weekly or bi-weekly since June 2017. She is a fantastic, reliable, compassionate dog walker. My dog is a loved and valued member of our family, and I wouldn't trust just anyone with him. I and my dog full-heartedly look forward to our Jacky walk every week.

Jackie has been nothing less than fantastic with Loki. He knows when his beeper collar goes on in the morning, and he waits by the front door for Jackie to arrive. As Loki is a trained service dog for his blind owner, the hikes are a real treat for him. He gets to hang out with his friends, get great exercise, and a morning of fun.

Always trusted Jacky Dee caring for our pet family members including in home pet-sitting of one special, lot of work, very old, deaf, grumpy old big dog. Able to leave knowing he was in good and caring hands when needed. Would recommend her services 100%.

Over the course of the last 18 years, Bernadette and Linda have been grooming our dogs. They are both extremely professional and knowledgable about dogs, and our dogs have all had an excellent experience with them. Since they are both also dog trainers, they know how to gently reassure dogs who may be stressed. Our dogs come home happy and well groomed every time!

Easy 5 stars. We have a large breed anxious dog that doesn't typically do well at the vet and doesn't love to be groomed at home. We took him into DAWG last week and they were amazing with him. They were super patient and easy-going, and confident with handling Obi and making him feel comfortable. To add to that, the grooming itself was super high quality, and we're obsessed with his new cleaned-up look. Highly recommended! We thought grooming might be a lost cause but DAWG instilled a new sense of confidence. We will definitely be coming back for more grooming in the future, and may look into training based on the positive experience we had.

Really enjoyed our classes with our new pup Winnie. Bernadette is so knowledgeable and gave us great excercises to work on , and the small class size ensured we could build on the skills we acquired. Thankyou Bernadette....looking forward to some of the other classes!

Grooming is on point! My stinky dog has been transformed into a beautiful fluff. I'm sure it was a ton of work and hair everywhere. My Tibetan Mastiff glows!

Great grooming done today for Eggroll by Linda! Perfect length, so clean and smelling nice! Eggroll is quite spicy but Linda handled her really really good. Third time by Linda, and definitely more in the future. Would recommend this place for everyone!

Bernadette and the trainers that work with her are truly exceptional people. Very thankful we found her. You can't find a better, more giving human! We were struggling with our extremely high-energy, fear-reactive border collie and she gave us so many tools that served us well. I have never had a better trained dog and this is thanks to all she taught us.

Bernadette was so great in not only help me train Hickory and more importantly trained me and we achieved our goal. Hickory achieved her CKC Championship. Thank you so much. Now on to Grand Champion and Obedience.

Our dog Gus had a wonderful experience with the groomers at DAWG pet care. The groomers were friendly, patient and efficient. I will definitely be back. PS. Gus is a Saint Bernard sooo it was a big job! He smells so good now 😊 …

Moved here from Manitoba so needed a new groomer for our pups, most wonderful groom my dogs have ever had, and they are always a bit nervous going to the groomers, but not any more ! when I go to get them, they are always calm and happy ! Wonderful place !

I take my dog there for grooming, and Linda always does an amazing job. My dog always comes out so happy and looking fresh. Linda is always so sweet, and great with my dog! If you need a fantastic groomer, this is the place to go!
