This team has been what we consider family for years.The faces might change but the core of there values stands tall. You have to be a true animal lover for this kind of work!! Be it daycare or boarding for family travel,they are top notch !! FYI, the love in that bldg is STRONG AS EVER !!

My dogs have stayed here multiple times over the last several years, and the staff always talked about how wonderful they were when we dropped them off and picked them up. A couple of the staff the last two times even got in the floor to play with one of our dogs both times we brought them in for drop off. We didn't even make an issue out of one time being boarded one dog came home with kennel cough and the other had a ripped pad on his right front paw, or this past time when we picked them up and one of them had a broken claw on his right rear paw that was so sore he was limping. Now they have decided to let us book our dogs, then call days before we were supposed to leave for a trip to tell us they wouldn't board them anymore due to our dogs' "aggression" and how they make the staff nervous. When asked why they didn't bring this up the last time we picked them up from be boarded for a week, we were told, "Sorry, we have a new manager." When asked why they are just now calling with these fabricated notes when they had been booked for a while, we were told, "Sorry, we have a new manager." When we then accused them of doing it because of the breed, they didn't even try to deny it, and they again told us, "Sorry, we have a new manager." Never again will we do business with such an untrustworthy establishment.

I have been coming to this place for a few years now and I would love to just say how much better the new manager is doing with this facility. They have special occasions during the month for the daycare dogs and even have treats for the dog parents. Keep up the good work home away from home. Im impressed

Love this place. The Doctors and Staff truly love pets and are wonderful to work with. They take the time to answer all your questions and concerns. My pet loves them.

I'm way overdue on writing a review for this place. It's spectacular and I'm so glad we found it. We moved to the area earlier this year and were looking for a new boarding/daycare facility. When I called the first time, they spent at least 30 mins answering all my questions and talking me through their policies and procedures. I showed up unannounced a few days later and they gladly gave me a tour of their facilities (which is a sign they have nothing to hide). My senior pup wasn't quite a fit for the daycare environment, so they worked with me to set up a day boarding arrangement where she goes each week and hangs out in the kennel for the day so its part of her routine and the staff is familiar with her and vice versa. Recently, I boarded her for a long boarding stay and noticed on the camera that she seemed a bit anxious. I called and spoke with the team. They immediately went next door to talk with her vet (another plus of this place is that the vet is right next door) and worked out a plan to get her additional anxiety meds. The following day, I checked in on the camera and saw a staff member sitting with her in her kennel giving her belly rubs. The rest of her stay was smooth sailing. I could go on and on about how much they love my girl. She loves going to "doggie school" each week and I'm so grateful to find a place that loves her as much as I do.

We've been customers for the last nine years. We brought our shy puppy here and were amazed how he came out of his shell. He gets excited when he knows he is going to daycare. We feel extremely comfortable with the staff who go out of their way to make the pet's time enjoyable. The vet office next door is great peace of mind. All of the little things over the years really add up to a great experience. And even though our new puppy is a handful, the staff looks forward to seeing both of our fur babies. Such a great place for boarding or daycare! They really are family to our pups, truly another home away from home.

The staff is awesome, polite and professional. I started out boarding only and now I have my little guy in day care 2 days a week. Overall, my experience with Home Away from Home has been excellent. My dog seems to love going.

Our Chihuahua, Bill, had a great stay. Everyone was really warm and kind to us upon arrival and when I called to check on him, they were very helpful and gave me a nice report. He was calm and happy when we picked him up. I would definitely recommend Home Away!

The lady Kathy, who works the front desk is very rude and impolite, and she also treats people of color differently than other customers. It’s almost like she couldn’t be bothered with them

I boarded my diabetic cat here for several days and they were great. Very up front with extra charges for meds. They also gave me good info on how he did in their care. It was obvious that they really cared about my cat and all the other pets coming and going.

Claudia is amazing! She has been so kind to work around my unpredictable work schedule for daycare and boarding when I'm out of town for work. My 1 year old corgi, Daisy, absolutely LOVES going to Claudia's and playing on her backyard toys! I always get photos and videos on how Daisy's days are going, which I love because then I know Daisy is happy and well cared for the entire time (see attached photos). Claudia has also been very helpful in improving Daisy's training and very open to implementing the techniques I use at home. Claudia is a blessing to Daisy and I! I would 100% recommend her to anyone else in the area looking for a place to board, or drop their doggies off for daycare.

Claudia is incredible! We couldn't be happier with our dog-sitting experience with her! From the moment she met our dog Murphy, it was clear she has a natural gift with pups. She immediately connected with him, which made him feel at ease right away. Every day of the three months she cared for Murphy, he came home exhausted from a full day of play, socializing, and receiving lots of love and attention. The obstacle course play/training and fetch were particular highlights. He really had a maxed out fun day every day there. Claudia was also incredibly accommodating with a few schedule adjustments that popped up, which made things so much easier for us. Murphy was in great hands—and it showed! We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Claudia. We travel a lot and she is by far the best dog care pro we’ve come across. Thank you, Claudia, for giving us peace of mind and making sure Murphy had the best time while we were in Norfolk!

Claudia is a true dog lover, kind person, and all around caring guardian of fur babies. I do not worry at all when I leave my dogs with her days or sometimes weeks. She sends me photos and frequent updates on how they’re doing. My dogs are lap dogs and love the attention from her kids. They walk right inside when I drop them off, like they’re happy to be there. Highly recommend her as a boarding option!

Claudia is amazing with our pup! When we drop her off, she doesn’t look back because she is so excited to spend time there!! Our dog has dietary restrictions and Claudia is ALWAYS able to accommodate!!! I get lots of updates but honestly I don’t have anything to worry about, my dog is in great hands!! I am so happy I came across her daycare! I will only use her for boarding our pup!

I cant recommend Claudia enough! She is incredibly flexible and you can tell that she really loves what she does. She communicates wonderfully and sends pictures while your pet is with her and I can tell that my pup had a great time during both stays. It’s a gift when you don’t have to worry about your pet while you’re gone and that is absolutely the case with Claudia!

My dog loves going to Claudia’s, he wags his tail and pulls to get in her house every time! Claudia takes care of him as if he was one of her own. It’s comforting to know that my dog is in a loving home getting lots of attention, instead of sitting in a crate all day like most boarding places. Claudia also sends pictures and updates while your dog is there to put your mind even more at ease. I would never want to board my dog anywhere else!

We always take our dogs with us but feel so fortunate to have found Claudia to care for our 2 Dobermans and golden retriever. She’s beyond amazing - very experienced, conscientious, always keeping us up to date on how the dogs are doing. They just love her - get great exercise, playtime and are well taken care of. We would highly recommend her! She deserves 10++stars!!

Claudia was amazing with my two small dogs. They enjoyed being at her house. Claudia was very easy to work with for over 2 1/2 years that we lived in the area. I always knew my dogs were being well taken care of with her.

Claudia is amazing & our pups love staying with her! She has a fenced-in backyard and always sends us photos of our dogs having a great time - she makes an effort to ensure they still get the love and attention away from home. Claudia is always very reliable & makes us feel at ease when we go out of town and can’t take our pups with us. I wouldn’t know what to do without her!

Claudia loves, cares and engages with every dog as if they were her own. Our pup quivers with excitement when he sees Claudia’s house! We have nothing but praise for her skills and not a worry when he is with her.

I couldn’t ask for a better place to take care of my girl for me. She attends day care regularly, she’s been boarded a couple times, and she’s been groomed. She absolutely loves it up there. They take such good care of her. I can’t thank the employees enough for all their hard work and dedication for our babies.

The people here love all the animals that come to them. I don’t trust just anyone with my babies. They are fair priced and do the absolute best for all animals and families that they serve. They are always so creative with the daycare. An example is they do back to school pictures, birthday pictures, first day of school pictures. They will treat you like family. If any post a negative review they have a personal vendetta and I suggest you check them out yourself.

My dog loves this place. They take great care of your animal. I would recommended this to anyone who has a shy dog like mines. Biggie is shy and suffers from separation anxiety but he goes their and interacts with the other small dogs. He loves the staff as well.

Elsa, our 7 month old German Shepherd pup, has been in Doggy Daycare several times and she loves it there! We took her there for socialization more than anything and the ladies took her right in and she has improved so much! She would bark at people and other dogs and would not stop. Since coming here she has gotten so much better. We live in the country with no neighbors and she just needed to be around new people and dogs so that she wouldn’t bark so much and this has helped her so much! I can’t say enough good things about Bed and Biscuits it’s very clean and the staff is so friendly. We had Elsa’s nails clipped also and the lady who did it said that Elsa just laid across her lap and had no problems with it. When we tried to trim her nails she just was not having it! I’m so glad we found a wonderful place here!

This place is the best! I was in town for only two weeks but Melinda and everyone at Bed and Biscuits treated my pup like a regular! They took great care of my Whit! Some days I think Whit would have rather stayed at daycare than come home with me! The staff always had a smile on their face and if we are ever back in the area, we will be taking our dogs to Bed and Biscuits! Customers for life!

I’m from Virginia and had visited Every groomer in my area to give my fur baby a haircut and nails clipped. However everyone was scared of her even tho she is a loving shepherd mix. When I visited bed and biscuits not only did she get a haircut but even got her nails painted. This was after she played with the staff and the other dogs there. She didn’t even wanna leave. It’s well worth the drive for my baby girl to be pampered and treated like family.

Extremely friendly staff! Our dog was nervous since it was his first time and scent marked on the rug outside and on a wall inside, but they just laughed and cleaned it up, they weren't upset. Our dog had fun and even made a little paw print painting while he was there! Would highly recommend!

If I could give a 10 Star I would!! I take my dog Millie to daycare here 2-3 times most weeks and have been since she was old enough to go. She loves Bed and Biscuits and the staff and is excited to go every time. I know that she is safe, well taken care of and loved while she is there. She also gets groomed there and smells so good every time I pick her up. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. So thankful we have such a great business here in Ahoskie.

My pup started Port Rover for daycare about 4 or 5 months ago and it has been the absolute best for him! They are always so pleasant during drop off and my guy is always so happy to see them! I absolutely LOVE the little extras they do for us like holiday pics and the recent campaign for PR PRES was so cute! OH! I cant forget the daily report cards and pictures...bestill my heart! They are really in tune with the pups there, keeping an eye on their behaviors, moods, and health. When my guy was feeling a bit anxious, they texted to let me know so I could pick him up. They give great advice when Im lost on what to do and I love that I can text with a question during the day (only when absolutely necessary) and they respond as soon as they can bc I know they are busy, busy!! He's my 3rd child so I am so thankful to have found Port Rover who loves my guy like I do 💙

My dog Cali has been boarded there twice now. The staff have always taken excellent care of her. I would highly recommend Port Rover for any of your pet needs. They are truly the best.

Great experience boarding my 2 dogs here. The customer service is always excellent. I always have peace of mind knowing my dogs are in great care each time.

Our fella loses his mind when he realizes it's "school" day. He wakes up first thing and dashes to the door to go outside and sit by the truck, even on days he's not scheduled to attend. He gets SO excited when we pull up and we feel VERY comfortable knowing he's in amazing hands be it day school, boarding or grooming. The staff at Port Rover are all the best and we love being part of the pack!

Theodore and Bubbles love going to Port Rover whether it's just for daycare or a spa day. They come home happy and tired. We love them! They'll take great care of your pups also.

The staff here is so sweet and patient. I am transporting a dog today and called to make a payment to extend a pupper that was there. Sweet Lindsay I think she said her name was, was super patient as I had terrible service. I know it had to be frustrating trying to hear me. <3 Thank yall for taking such good care of my God puppers, and helping me keep my friend on a healthy recovery path. And for all the work yall do with the rescue community.

They have a very friendly staff, clean facilities, reasonable prices and most importantly, my dog has absolutely no issues there. I always get him back perfectly happy and healthy.

Amazing owners/staff! We’ve been bringing our mini schnauzer here for 2 years, and they take fantastic care of him. They’re so flexible, friendly, and dependable that we’re forever customers!

If you’re in the Virginia Beach area I highly recommend them for watching your dog they will cater to your dogs needs for an individual experience for each dog very good highly recommend will bring dog back if we go out of town.

Absolutely love Cameron and Hayes. They are so fantastic with our two dogs. They have a nice yard for them to hang out in and play. They definitely treat our pups as their own whenever they are there. We’ve used them a few times and will continue to when we need! Highly recommend.

We used The Epps Dog Nook for our boy Kylo when we went out of town for a couple days. He had a great time. They were extremely communicative and responsive. We really appreciated the home style atmosphere and acclimation process and care they use with new members. Thank you both so very much, it was great to know that Kylo was in great hands while we were away!

We had a last minute trip come up and the Epps took our family dogs in without hesitation. Very friendly people and great with animals! Will definitely be bring my dogs back to them!

Recommended for anyone in the deep creek/chesapeake area. Cameron and Hayes are very nice and respectful people, will definitely bring my dog back to them when I go out of town again.

I went out of town on a detachment for 2 weeks and left my basset hound with the Epps family. And let me tell you mine and finneus’ experience has honestly been the best. They took the very best care of him and before leaving I asked if I could be updated and sent pictures of him and they did! If you’re ever in need of a pet sitter for your fur baby in the deep creek/ Chesapeake area definitely use them!

We love Dogwood Run! I started taking my dog here about a year ago after we had an awful experience at PetSuites in Chesapeake. The staff at Dogwood Run are amazing! They all care for the dogs as if they were their own, my dog loves going to daycare now! Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to send their dogs during the day while they are at work or just need a place to let their dog let out some energy!

I’ve been taking my dog here since he was a puppy. He’s almost two now. He is always excited to come to daycare. The staff genuinely cares about him and he’s always been well taken care of. I can’t recommend Dogwood run enough.

This daycare lost my dog and did absolutely nothing to help. During one of the home dropoffs, my dog apparently jumped out of their car in an unfamiliar neighborhood, miles from our house. This indicates that the dog was not properly strapped in, but the daycare never actually explained how that happened. Not only did they wait almost an hour before they called us to inform us about the accident, but they did not offer any support or resources to help find our pup. The worker that lost him barely spoke to us and drove around aimlessly, then told us that she needed to go take care of other personal stuff. Not to mention the owner of this business did not take any interest and did not even call us to check on the situation. If this was me, you bet I would not go to sleep until my client's baby is found safe and sound. We spent two days and nights in the car, driving around and combing the area - thanks to the help of the local community, we were lucky enough to spot our dog wandering on the side of the road, unharmed. Now I understand that accidents happen and I'm not angry about my dog getting loose, however, the way they handled it is shameful and I urge you to think twice before you trust them with your babies.

My puppy LOVES this place! He can't wait to get out of the car when I pull up to park! So excited! Dogwood Run may look like a "hole in a wall" but it is such an amazing place for my puppy to play and enjoy. He comes home happy, content, and TIRED 😀 The people who work there are phenomenal! It seems that they take very good care of him AND he's happy. That's what matters 🙂

The staff is always very friendly and accommodating! I love that you can drop your dog off over such a flexible time range without an appointment. There is a slightly high faculty to dog ratio, but for the price and flexibility I don't see much of an issue so far as long as your dog is one to play well with others.

After viewing a few other doggy daycare places in the area, Dogwood Run is by far THE BEST option for your dog! Owners are very polite, patient and accommodating. I was offered a tour the first day. The facility was very clean and had a huge yard with plenty of grass! No crates or kennels! My dog jumps at the door when she gets here to go play. Very fortunate to have found Dogwood Run :)

My puppy, Bella, has been going to Dogwood Run for 3 months now. We take her 3-4 days per week (1/2 days). The staff are wonderful, friendly and very good with Bella. She loves being there, and I definitely love that she is getting that puppy energy out. I would highly recommend them!!

My husband and I have been using their alternative boarding service since December for our two golden retrievers, and we couldn't be happier! Just recently we went up to Northern Virginia to visit family and we got snowed in. The people here were so accommodating for us to help take care of our pups since we couldn't get back in time to take care of them. On top of that, they gave us a call just to see how we were doing and to make sure we were safe. Talk about customer service! I HIGHLY recommend using Dogwood Run!

We have been taking our dog to the Ruff House for over a year now. They treat her just like we would, and have really helped with her socialization and training. She loves the daycare, and we also regularly use their grooming services. They are truly wonderful, I recommend them to everyone!

We love The Ruff House in Greenbrier. The employees are happy and excited when you drop off and very efficient when you pick up. We tried another daycare near Great Neck in VA Beach (near my office) and had problems with our pup being bit. They blamed him saying he wasn’t reading social cues from the other dog. He did his temperament test at The Ruff House and they said while he did get amped up once (he’s a year and a half old), he was very good at social cues. He hasn’t had any issues. I believe they have more supervision and interaction with the staff. We have been so happy that our boy can get to play with his friends! He is tuckered out after a day of play! (He’s the yellow lab)

The Ruff House has been amazing! My Leti girl gets so excited when it's time to go in for daycare or boarding. I can trust them to treat my puppy with love and care. The report cards and pictures are a plus as a first time dog owner. Thank you Ruff House staff!

Staff is super friendly - never had any issues with booking, communication, or follow-up questions. I love getting pics of my puppers playing with other dogs her age during boarding. They always take care to keep her with the other grey-faced older dogs, knowing puppies are just too energetic for her. I always feel secure knowing my dog is being cared for while I’m away.

We take our dog there regularly for enrichment, daycare, and boarding. He always comes home so happy. The people there are wonderful and deeply love all the animals in their care. I can’t recommend them enough.

I just moved to Virginia and wanted to find a safe enriching day care for our dog. The Ruff House (Chesapeake) is amazing. Our puppy Pompeii has a great time there and comes home tired and happy. They feed him and make sure he’s an environment for his temperament. When I drop him off he goes with the handler no hesitation! They post pictures of your pet to your profile and cute report cards. Reasonable pricing too! I love this daycare and so does Pompeii

I have nothing but good things to say and would recommend their services to anyone. My dogs (and even my cat) love it here, and I never worry for a second when I leave them in their care. You can tell everyone is very passionate about caring for the animals, and the business is run efficiently and professionally.

My two babydogs, Rocky & Hazel, absolutely love it here when they are boarded. The care is top-tier which I appreciate as a loving & highly protective dogmom. My 13-month-old golden retriever recently began attending daycare, and I have noticed that he is quite fatigued when I pick him up. However, I am pleased to see that he is actively socializing and developing his confidence. The staff at the daycare has been exceptional; they are highly professional and demonstrate a deep understanding of how to handle and care for each of their clients.

My experience having my dog boarded with Rising Moon Kennels was amazing. I boarded my 11 month old dog with them for 17 days and the care and attention given was superb. Every day I received pictures and videos of my dog showing how she was doing and she was doing marvelously. It was obvious that she was getting the time and attention needed to keep her happy and content. I cannot recommend Rising Moon Kennels enough. This is the best place to board your dog or dogs. Your dog will thank you for it.

I highly recommend Ms.J kennels. I went to the Dominican Republic for a few days. This being the furthest I have from my boy Khaos. Just the pre boarding session I was already sold and comfortable. This was our first time boarding our 2.5 year old, Nala. Rising Moon Kennels answered all our questions, and was extremely patient with us as we navigated boarding for the first time. The care and attention given was beyond our expectations. We received videos and photos daily showing how she was doing, and she was doing fantastic. Nala got the time and one on one attention she needed. And we cannot recommend Rising Moon Kennels enough, and will definitely be using in the future.

Last week was the first time boarding our dogs and we were so very pleased with the care they received at RMK ! Jay is awesome and really loves and cares about the dogs. She sent photos, updates and videos daily which allowed me to relax and not worry about my babies. I will definitely go to RMK for future boarding.

My girl J was amazing with my baby Ace. Upon first talking with her you would've thought we had known eachother for years. She was very professional, loving, caring, and flexible. Jamaria was amazing to work with. I recently adopted a 2-year old, adult dog who was in need of obedience training and improvements in manners. After finishing the training, he's improved in all areas of concern for me, which were heeling, recall, and not jumping when meeting new people. Jamaria is very patient, personable, and knowledgeable in many techniques used in obedience training. We will continue to apply what we've learned from our sessions to continue to improve. J took amazing care of our fur babies! We have two young, very energetic pups who want nothing more than to play all day. This was the perfect place for them! We loved that dogs were able to do a meet and greet before boarding. When the time came to drop them off, they immediately recognized the driveway and were excited to be there.
