We took our fox red lab for a week. He came home happy, which was a massive improvement on another kennels we'd used. The staff were super friendly and my dog was more interested in them than me. He didn't smell and settled back into home routine immediately. Super impressed and would 100% recommend!!

Our lively cocker spaniel had his first doggie daycare stay on Wednesday. We were met by 2 very pleasant girls, enthusiastic and very friendly. Our dog loved it. He's having an overnight board next month and have no worries about leaving him. We know he'll be well looked after. Would highly recommend.

It is always both a relief and a disappointment when your precious "mutt" excitedly gets out of the car to see his fan club. A safe and relaxed caring spot with professional caring staff

We were recommended the kennels by a friend who lives nearby, we weren't disappointed. The owners were really friendly and welcoming, can't think if a better place to leave our much loved dog. Thank you so much for having him, he definitely seemed happy to return the following day for more doggy day care. We would definitely use the kennels on our next visit to York.

This is the 5th kennel we have tried in the area, and we can honestly say, it has been the best! Very attentive from the beginning, you really feel like they care about your dogs wellbeing. Had issues with getting through to the phone with other kennels before- not with this one, and they even offered for me to call in mid-way during our dogs stay, to check on him! The kennels themselves are the cleanest we've seen, and very well organised. Our dog always got himself dirty in other kennels, but not this one! Also, he's quite shy with people, but had gotten very close to the staff at Stugdale, within just under a week of being there. Absolutely the best experience we've had so far, can highly recommend this place!

Great kennels! Following a viewing of the kennels we left our two dogs there for two weeks. The older dog had been in kennels before but the pup hadn't. The kennels is a smaller family-run business and the dogs have regular exercise in an outside area with other dogs or individual on-lead walks, which I believe is paid extra for. I was a bit concerned about the dogs not being able to see out of the individual kennel but was advised that it was down to council regulations to give the dogs some peace and privacy. We left their own bedding and treats and they had the food at the kennels. Both seemed to have fared well and were happy to see us on our return. Great communication from the kennels during their stay. Will use again. 😊

Sue looks after our dog, who always comes home tired and happy. She's great with the dogs, they get plenty of exercise and stimulation, and are very well looked after.

Just the absolute best, I wouldn't ever use anyone but Hazel to look after my furry 4.

Unfortunately didn’t even get to sample, we booked in with two dogs in March and gave full description of needs, one of my dogs is on medication as he has IVDD, which affects his mobility… We said we had a set of wheels that would help them when letting him Out for a walk. I was told that they couldn’t possibly do this as they dont have the time to be messing with the aids! I said that was fine and that it was just to support but he doesn’t always need it, but was then told they couldn’t accommodate a dog with a disability, which is shocking!! I also said that he may need to be let out fairly early around 6:30/7 for his toilet as he can’t hold it for hours on end, he is not incontinent, just need regular toilet breaks, again they said that they did t have the time to accommodate. They then said that they are going to have to cancel the booking leaving us virtually no time to find somebody else at such short notice! I was so disappointed with the lack of care and empathy for my poor dog, the wheels take only 5 seconds to attach but they did t have the time. I didn’t think that Such discrimination was poignant within the canine world. I would not entertain these boarding kennels, and pity any dog that may have a disability.

Happy paws is a well appointed kennels in a countryside location with plenty of secure exercise areas and comfortable accommodation. Rosie and her team are brilliant, and their love of animals very apparent. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe welcoming kennels for their pets.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The only place we will leave our dogs! The fact that our dogs get excited when we go down their lane, says it all. Clean and tidy kennels with excellent facilities for exercise. Rosie & the team are excellent. Thank you!

At the time of the one star rating by Valerie Elton,Rosie was/is having issues with her phone, no O2 signal in the area, so is UNABLE to pick up messages straight away and respond quickly. She has a back log of people to contact and is doing all she can! She does not have time to sit inside all day calling people from her landline as the care of the dogs currently boarding take priority. Please be kind! Please be patient!

My dog has loved coming to these kennels over several years. The care is exemplary and on every occasion I was completely satisfied. You know when your dog hasn't been happy and I can honestly say she loved it. Rosie and Richard go the extra mile, and all staff I have ever dealt with have been caring, dedicated and willing to accommodate my dog's needs. The kennels are always clean and the atmosphere relaxed. They follow instructions to the hilt and I really can't recommend them enough. Be reassured your dog will be well cared for and will undoubtedly love it's stay.

We took Ellie here after being let down by our usual kennels, Ellie enjoyed her stay, Rosie is lovely and looks after all of the dogs with love and care. We will definitely carry on using Happy Paws from now on and we can't recommend them enough. Thank you for looking after Ellie whilst we were away.

Excellent kennels with lovely owners who really care about your dog. Our dog Suzy always walks in wagging her tail, which helps when you're leaving your beloved pet when you go on holiday. We use them everytime we go away.

I have telephoned to request a booking. Voice mail says they pick up messages in the evening, and will get back to me the next day. No they don't. I have telephoned 4 times now and no one has returned my call. Or ring Rosie on her mobile. Same thing. Rosie hasn't returned my call either.

Highly recommend Rosie and everyone at Happy Paws! I work as a veterinary nurse and trust my dogs at these kennels 100%! Wouldn't go anywhere else

I have been bringing my dogs here for many years. The service is second to none. My dogs love it here and leap out the car when we arrive! It’s a real home from home and Rosie and Richard are fabulous! Wouldn’t use anywhere else. Immaculately clean.

Very disappointed with the service offered by Dawn. I had to alter a drop off time with her at the last minute by half an hour and she was very abusive to me and the dog when I tried to drop him off, shouting at me, snatching my dog off me and the food bag. I had used her before , the first time being she went out and left her son who I had never met to receive my dog! I asked for my money back of £40 and she has refused. I will not be using her again
