I absolutely love Salty Dog Pet Services. My experiences hiring Salty Dog for cat sitting have been nothing but fantastic. Whenever I go away, I know my cats are happy and well taken care of. Shani, the owner, texts me pictures of my cats every time she comes over to feed them, and it's so clear how much she cares for all of her clients pets. I can't recommend highly enough!!

We love Salty Dog! Very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They develop a real relationship with our pets and I feel completely confident leaving them in their hands. They work hard to meet our needs, send text & photo updates so that we know all is well. It is so good to have this service offered and done so well!

Shani is super reliable, always sends photo updates and the best part is my pets love her. I feel totally comfortable leaving my animals in her care. I've even had some animals with medical and behavioral needs (I foster) during her visits and I've never had any concerns with her ability to tend to them.

Everyone has been very nice and my Pearl was excited to go there after our initial visit. I am planning on boarding in September, so look forward to another review after more time spent at the Magic of Paws!! New news…. Pearl had a great time this September on her vacation…. She will be back!!

The staff is Kind, helpful and definitely animal lovers. They are so flexible to work with our worlds Crazy schedules. now my Jackson’s first ever experience with doggy daycare and I was recommended by a vet to go there and he loves it and I’ve already booked an overnight ., they send pictures and let you know how he went on his day with a little report card. I’m so excited to be a part of the magic of 🐾 paws ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For over a year now, we've entrusted our pup, Marlo, to the caring team at Magic of Paws, and we can't praise their dedicated staff enough. Whether we're boarding him for a single night or an extended stay of 18 days (yes, this has happened!), Marlo just loves every minute at Magic of Paws, as seen by his excitement every time we pull over. One of the things we love about Magic of Paws is the daily report cards and photo updates we receive. These not only brighten our day but also provide us with peace of mind. It's a stark contrast to our previous experiences with another doggie day care facility in Portland. Their ability to focus on quality care is unparalleled. Unlike other places, they don't jam countless dogs in one place in order to make a profit. They really focus on each pup's personality and work around it. Clearly, this place is a lot of fun. My puppy has had positive experiences with humans and canines alike - the staff members at Magic of Paws are very pet-centered, friendly, and patient. They are a major part of why she is a well-adjusted, happy pup!

A little late but I wanted to thank the crew at Magic of Paws for taking care of my cats, Kiki and Tiger. We are new to the area with work schedules not conducive to the hours of operation for drop off/pick up for many cat boarding facilities in the area. I'm so glad I found Magic of Paws. They took wonderful care of my babies and I loved the daily report card included with their stay. I won't hesitate to board my babies with them again and highly recommend Magic of Paws to anyone needing to board the kitties. UPDATE: I’ve used Magic of Paws a few more times since my review. I had to travel out of state and was gone during the wind/rain storm and flooding on 12/18. Tiger is difficult to handle when she’s away from home but I want to thank the staff of Magic of Paws for taking care of Kiki and Tiger and keeping them safe when I wasn’t able to be there for them.

We boarded our cat at Magic of Paws for one week while on vacation. You can tell the staff at Magic of Paws really care about the animals they are taking care of. The daily report cards we got when our kitty was staying there gave us peace of mind while on our trip. I understand that Magic of Paws is primarily a dogs place but we chose to board our cat there based on the amazing reviews and we are overall happy with our choice. The reason why I am not giving 5 stars is based on the state of the cat overnight boarding space. When we dropped off our boy we were able to bring him up to the cattery to say goodbye. Upon walking into the cat space we were hit with an awful smell- it smelt like the space hadn’t been cleaned in months. The office next to the cat space was filthy with trash all over the floor (this room appeared to be some kind of office). The space for cats has tons of fun things for cats to play with including a running wheel and awesome posts to scratch and high perches to climb and relax on. if the cattery was better taken care of, I would be giving 5 stars. In summary we are very pleased with the care our boy received while at Magic of Paws. Every staff member I encountered or spoke to was helpful and friendly. Our boy arrived home relaxed and happy confirming he had a good time making new friends and exploring a new place!

Magic of Paws is really outstanding. My partner’s family lives in Cape Cod so we are going down there every few months for multiple nights. It’s heartbreaking to have to leave your animals behind, but I worry so much less because of Magic of Paws. When I go to check in on them and see report cards with pictures where my cats are cuddling on the Magic of Paws caretaker/Nyssa, it is the sweetest feeling. Thank you so much Magic of Paws. If you could use a service like this, you need to use Magic of Paws. Unbelievably reliable, trustworthy, caring people.

From the first phone call I made to Magic of Paws, I was excited to bring my dog to be cared for here. We have an 80ish lb, 17 month old Doberman, and he’d never been able to play with other dogs at another facility, because he’s still in tact. The fact that he was able to socialize off leash with other dogs with similar temperament and size makes my heart so happy. He loves people and other dogs, but doesn’t get to experience off leash freedom at home. He was very tired after his first day of doggy daycare. And we are looking forward to experiencing some of the other services that Magic of Paws has to offer. Thank you so much for making us feel so comfortable!

We took our 2 rescue dogs to Magic of Paws for day care while we attended a family funeral. Neither dog had ever been to day care, or been boarded in a kennel, and I was worried about how they would handle the experience. Nyssa was very reassuring when we dropped them off, and they didn't even seem to notice when we left. 5 hours later, we picked up 2 very tired, apparently happy dogs. Getting a report card on their stay was a nice touch. We won't hesitate to use Magic of Paws again!

I travel almost four months of the year and the only thing more important than my own travel plans is making sure there's availability for my dog at Brown Dog Inn. Truly. No other place offers not only the kind of facility, but the level of genuine care as Brown Dog Inn. Every staff member is thoroughly dedicated to their job. My dog - who is not like a happy golden that loves everyone, but is rather select in whom he trusts, absolutely loves it. In fact, I sometimes worry he loves it there more than he does at home. It's a good problem to have.

We have taken our dog to stay at Brown Dog Inn many times over the past two years. As our dog is older, we do our best to minimize stress and anxiety for her. Every other facility we've used in the twelve years since we've rescued her, our dog would show signs of anxiety at drop off - not here. When we pull into the parking lot she perks up and happily walks right in. They take such good care of her.

Great experience for the dogs. They came back in good spirits and well balanced. Also Brown Dog Inn was able to keep them a few extra days when we fell ill and could not get back home on the original schedule. Awesome service!

Brown Dog Inn was so fabulous for our pup, Elly! This was Elly's first boarding and doggie daycare experience, so I was nervous for how she would do away from home, but Brown Dog Inn took great care of her. I appreciated their posts on Instagram so that I could keep tabs on how Elly was doing while we were gone. So happy to see she made other puppy friends and had a positive experience. We will definitely be back here again.

Max loves the Brown Dog Inn! He can't wait to go play with all his friends, either in the pool or running the field. I love that he has such a good time and I know he is getting plenty of attention and wonderful care.

Brown Dog Inn is a great boarding facility for our pet when we travel. Everyone is nice, trustworthy and professional. Our dog has a great experience and always comes home happy. She especially loves the walks and time in the field running around. We never worry while our dog is there as we can call anytime just to say hi and see how much fun she is having.

The Brown Dog is fantastic. We have been bringing our little guy there since he was a puppy, and it is now his second home. The staff is talented, knowledgable, and it's obvious that they love their clients. We like how they divide the little dogs and the big dogs, and they really know each dog's personality. Our poodle is always excited to get out of the car and get inside the Brown Dog, which is pretty high praise, because poodles can be clingy. The staff are also flexible--more than once we have been stuck in traffic, trying to get home in time to pick up the pup, and they are always helpful and accommodating. We never worry if we have to leave the dog behind, whether it's for the day or for two weeks, because we know he'll have a great time. Definitely five stars for the Brown Dog.

Can't think of a better place to leave my pups. They come home happy, healthy, and relaxed. Staff is friendly to me too! 😊They clearly provide excellent care. I have boarded my two poodles, who are quirky and completely different personalities, several times and they receive very individualized and accepting care. Never thought I would feel comfortable boarding my dogs but I have no hesitation at Brown Dog. Unreservedly recommemd.

We’ve boarded our pup at Brown Dog Inn several times while we traveled and all experiences have been positive. The staff is warm and friendly and I love the Instagram picture updates. I think it’s a good sign that our dog gets excited/happy each time he gets dropped off. Take advantage of the grooming service offered as well-they do a great job.

While we were out of town Max stayed at Brown Dog Inn. He had a great time and after making sure both his cats were okay in his absence, he’s been completely sacked out all afternoon. Max has had issues in pack settings in the past and Brown Dog was careful to accommodate that and slowly introduced him to new dogs and kept him in small play groups. They also offer extras- pool time, treats at night, cuddle sessions, one on one play time with a pack leader, and leashed walks. Plus their social media updates are fantastic! Of all the boarding places we have checked out, Brown Dog Inn is paws and tails above the rest!

My dog loves salty dog! The photos they send in the yard are evidence enough! The staff is polite and knowledgeable, and I enjoy having the peace of mind that my dog is enjoying her day. 10/10, highly recommend!

"Salty Dog" has been a blessing for us. Our 2 year old Boston Terrier has been going regularly for over a year. She loves it. We can't even say the word "salty" without her thinking she's going to play at Salty Dog. We've boarded Pixie there overnight for a weekend as well, and she was well taken care of. They sent us pictures at the end of the day, and we knew she was safe. I am confident that our experience is not unusual, and I would highly recommend Salty Dog Adventures for your pup.

Abey baby loves Salty Dog! I feel comfortable and confident leaving him overnight and for daytime play. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. We are so lucky to have the Salty Dog available for our pup!

We have used Salty Dog since the week my puppy was old enough to go (and he turns one this week)! It is super easy to book online and their staff is always very friendly and welcoming. We are currently waiting for him to get neutered, however, he usually goes once a week and totally loves it. I love that the dogs have “naked play” (without collars) to prevent any injuries. He comes home so tired (at least for a few hours while he recharges his GSP batteries). Thanks for taking such good care of Zeus!

We love Salty Dog Adventures! We started bringing our almost 2 year old Lab after a bad experience at a different daycare. Salty Dog has always been amazing! Our dog is so excited to be there and all the staff always recognize him. We love getting the report cards to see what he was up too during the day and have even left him overnight a few times. When we get there, he immediately runs to the door and cant get in soon enough! We feel so lucky to have Salty Dog and know our boy is always safe and enjoying his time there.

We are such huge fans of Salty Dog, so is our 2.5 year old 75lb English Silver Lab (Bauer). We consistently bring Bauer to Salty Dog for daily play and supervision but also for extended stay boarding. When ever we actually tell him he’s going to Salty Dog he literally perks up and get so excited. The staff is so responsive by email and super attentive/caring of Bauer when he’s there. Every time I bring him or drop him off, he’s beyond excited. We can’t imagine taking him anywhere else.

Our pup absolutely loves visiting his friends at Salty Dog! Based on his smile in the picture they shared with us (attached), it’s safe to say he has a pretty great time! Their staff is always friendly and helpful and it’s so clear they love all the dogs they care for. Thanks Salty Dog!

It was my first visit and they kept my dog, my 10 pound terrier mix, for 3 1/2 hours and decided she didn’t play well with others. Apparently they put her in room with other dogs and they were harassing her so she snapped at Some of them. It was definitely not a good fit and she came home extremely thirsty. . And no, you did not offer any alternative or referrals!

We love Salty Dog! My puppy comes home totally exhausted and happy after playing here - their indoor space allows for great playtime on cold/rainy/too hot days - which is amazing. I love the hourly drop-off and my dog has a great time with a two hour stay while I run errands or work out. Staff is great and so friendly and welcoming to owners and dogs. Highly recommend!

I needed to write and let everyone know how after nine months of my taking my pet Jeffrey to Salty Dog that I am very pleased. I find them to be so friendly and accommodating. Of course the best judge of how great they are is to ask Jeffrey. Unfortunately he’s not able to add much to the conversation, so I’ve attached a picture taken his first day at Salty Dog. You can tell from his smile how much fun he’s having and since a picture is worth a thousand words, I will continue to entrust him in the hands of the great friendly staff!

I’m probably the most neurotic and exacting dog Mom in Maine! But the cottage exceeds my expectations! My Akita Sammy, has been coming since January 2015, and he LOVES the care he receives here!!! Daisy Mae, our lab, also comes and considers herself the futon princess 💕 The staff goes the 2nd mile each and every day and we so appreciate them!!!!

Great place for the doggos to have fun with eachother, staff is fun and friendly. Prices are a little high, but worth it for the service. I wouldn't worry about the contract mentioned in the other review Even though written in, negligence isn't something that can be excused legally in a contract in Maine. It's just a deterrent thrown in there.

Doggie Cottage has been an excellent and supportive place for boarding our cat and dog, as well as, taking excellent care for our dog three days a week. The folks there listen and understand the needs of who they are providing care for. I could go on and on! The management of the facility is always improving the property for their clients. I would not go anywhere else. We love them! Bryan B

My 3 girls have been boarded and attended daycare here and love it! They come home happy and tired! I have one social butterfly, one big mouth, and one very anxious pup- all three are up there in age but not spirit. I never worry when they're here as the entire staff are very personable with each dog making sure all 3 have a wonderful time, everytime.

I regret not bringing my pup here sooner. The staff at the Doggie Cottage are so wonderful and we love bringing our Lab Tucker here. You can tell how much they love their daycare pups and as a worrisome dog mom, it means the world to know someone is caring for my dog like I would. Tuck loves going so much that we can’t make any sudden movements around the 6:30 am time because he expects that it’s time to go to daycare and gets ridiculously excited. The best doggie daycare. Phil, Ashlee, Doryann & staff really care about all the dogs. Staff is the best. The cottage is a place that puts a smile on your face. Marty the party looks forward to hanging out with her furry friends everyday, especially with Leroy and Gus. Since this last post Martha passed away. We now have a new puppy Martha #4. Ashlee, Kylie, Madi, Jordyn & the rest of the staff comforted us when Martha passed, they were all there for us which we greatly appreciated. Martha #4 is part of the team at the cottage. She loves everyone there. We greatly appreciate the time and effort of the staff. Tremendous help with training. Martha #4 also is now being groomed by their absolutely fabulous groomer. So grateful to Ashley for taking her on. She was getting to be too much for me to handle. Thank you, thank you Doggie Cottage, your the best! There is no other playground for Martha#4 like the cottage.

I have been coming to the Doggie Cottage since their opening over 20 years ago and can only say they are the best. Casey was one of the Doggie Cottage's first customers and absolutely loved it there and so much that a few times she would sit on the daybed with her back to us preferring to stay there!! Our family of multiple dogs over the years have all been members of the Doggie Cottage family. They have received the best of care from taking one to vet while we were away and giving the best of care always. My current Springer Spaniel starts barking with excitement miles before we get there! Thank you Doggie Cottage for all the wonderful care these many years and many more to come, you're the best!

I love this place! My dog’s tails don’t lie! They’re super excited as soon as we pull onto the road to get there! Doggie cottage staff has cared for 2 generations of our dogs and we’ve always had a positive experience with their caring staff! They brought our sweet Lucie to the vet when she was sick while we were on vacation and it saved her life! I will always recommend them highly and sing their praises!!

I can't say enough positive things about the Doggie Cottage location in Gray Maine! We have been utilizing their grooming services for several years and have never been disappointed. I have seen first hand how the staff treat the animals. It is clear to me they screen their staff to ensure only those who are truly dedicated and have pure love for these animals are hired! I highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants to have their dog well taken care of and loved every single day!

The people here are just wonderful. They helped us make sure our pup had a safe place to go when we were in the hospital with our baby and then a week later we had a family emergency out of state. Not only were they able to take him, they helped us board him overnight. I love that they take daily photos. They clearly care for the dogs there and are just so kind and helpful.

We love CF Pawsitive Packleader - our rescue dog loves going twice a week for daycare and enrichment activities. He loves hanging out with his doggie friends and the trainers and staff are all super loving and attentive. He is always excited to see everyone and comes home tired. I love knowing that he's getting extra training and socialization through the available enrichment activities. We also have him board when we need to be away and love knowing he's well taken care of. Our boy has added a lot of positive skills thanks to Nikolle and her team!

We absolutely love sending our dog to Charlie’s Friends. Kim, Nikolle, Elizabeth and the entire staff truly cares for each dog and gives individual time and attention to each pup. The daily walks, activities and socialization the dogs experience is amazing and truly helps in the well being of our dog. Charlie’s Friends is the best kennel around!

WE LOVE PAWSITIVE PACKLEADER!! Our dog cannot wait to attend "school" and loves the whole team! Nikolle and group spend time and so much effort during puppy training class and daycare to make your dog the best it can be! 10/10 recommend!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'd give them a 6-star review if I could. My dog truly enjoys staying at Charlie's Friends. (I've never been able to say that about another place ever before). The facilities are comfortable, spotless, and the rooms and kennels are clean (as is my dog when we pick him up at the end of his stay). He enjoys it so much it's hard to get him to leave sometimes which tells me the staff there have a genuine love for what they do and their four-legged customers. (Just look at all the smiling doggos on their social media.) Everyone I've referred to Charlies Friends has given me similar feedback about their experience there. I give Kim Storey and her team my highest recommendation.

We recently boarded our dogs for a week at Charlie's Friends Daycare and had a really good experience. Coordinating the stay was easy via email. Staff was very attentive to details about medicine and care, since one of our our dogs is a senior with mobility issues. When we came back, our dogs looked happy and relaxed. The daycare is tidy, floors and walls were actually just wiped down when we visited both times, and other dogs walking in were pulling their people in, so that's always a good sign. I'll definitely board here again.

The staff was rude, my sweet dog was picked up with several bite marks, and they weren't fed their food even though the website says for customers to bring their own food as they don't want to deal with diet changes. Be mindful here.

We absolutely love Charlie’s and so does our Belgian Malinois! We use Charlie’s for day care and boarding and we always feel so comfortable leaving them with care for our dog. The staff is great and attentive. They take the dogs on off leash hikes and find good play groups based on your dogs personality. They also offer dog training while your dog stays there which we also do periodically and have seen great results. Our dog is always happy to arrive and tired when we pick her up. I couldn’t recommend a better place

Very interactive with your pups! Offer day and overnight care. They are very caring and have lots of energy to play with the dogs. They take them out on long walks and play a lot too. All the pups there seem so happy. My only hiccup is that I called about my pickup time in the morning and that message wasn't relayed to the rest of the staff, but they were diligent and called and we're very nice.

My 2 dogs have boarded at Charlie's Friends a few times. They both come home happy and tired. As a matter of fact, one doesn't seem to want to come home. These people know dogs and take great care of them.
