I can't say enough good things about Steve and Donna at Paradise Luxury Dog Retreat in Fordgate, Bridgwater! Since January 2022, my dog Chester has been staying with them, and it has been nothing short of a fantastic experience. Leaving Chester in the care of others is a big deal for me, but I feel completely at ease knowing he’s in such loving and capable hands. Steve and Donna treat Chester like he’s their own, and it's clear they genuinely care for each dog as if they were family. Chester has had several overnight stays, and every time, he comes home happy and well-cared for. Their facility is amazing, and they provide plenty of love and attention to all the dogs. I honestly don't know how I would manage without them; they are like second parents to Chester! If you’re looking for a place where your beloved pup will be cherished and cared for during the day or overnight, I highly, highly recommend Paradise Luxury Dog Retreat. Steve and Donna are simply the best!

We travel abroad a lot for work and sending our two anywhere else just isn’t an option . They are treated like their own and we have complete peace of mind . They get to play all day in beautiful surroundings along with all their doggy friends , what’s not to love . Donna and Steve send us photos and we can see that Dillon and Dotty really do live their best life whilst at Paradise :-) They also now offer a pamper service so they come home smelling beautiful !

Fantastic doggy daycare and dog boarding! Our cockapoo is really well looked after and absolutely loves coming to daycare! Him crying with excitement and pulling to go inside is the best review you can get that he loves it here! Donna, Steve and their colleague are all super friendly and you know your dog is in safe hands. It’s been brilliant for our dogs socialisation and has aided in his confidence with other dogs. We’d also recommend for overnight boarding. Donna was brilliant at easing my nerves when our dog had his first night away from us as a trial

We were very apprehensive about putting our boy in daycare but felt it was important as he is absolutely loves spending time with other dogs. Donna and Steve are both amazing with both our boy and us. He loves it so much and comes back exhausted. We have finally built up to leaving him over night not only did he love it, Donna answered all my nonstop questions and completely putting us at ease. Highly recommend to anyone who needs someone special to look after your precious dogs.

A pawsome doggy daycare. Donna and Steve are experienced dog caregivers who have ample knowledge with regard to dog behaviours, which makes this a fabulous staycation for dogs. My BC gets to socialise during his day visits, and most of all, he really does enjoy his time at Paradise Luxury Dog Retreat. It's a five-star from me.

Honestly wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dog. I have a rescue dog who can be very nervous and overwhelmed and really doesn’t like men! However Steve was so patient with Reg he’s now one of Reggie’s favourite people! And we’ll Reg loved Donna straight away 😂 he goes to daycare once a week and they look after him whenever we go away and to be honest reg never wants to come home and always misses Donna and Steve as well as their amazing centre which has massive fields reg loves to run around! Wouldn’t go anywhere else ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to luxury dog retreat, I put my two spaniels in for dog boarding whilst we were in Cyprus this week. One, in particular, is a young one and very timid and so I was anxious about leaving him! But Donna reassured me and I booked them in, they attended one day care for socialisation and to see the place themselves. This went well! I picked them up today after their 9 days odd in with them and they have been so happy! My timid spaniel loved them and has been cuddled u with them all and mixing with other dogs! Big and small! Donna updated me throughout on how they were doing and I felt relaxed and reassured that they were enjoying their holiday whilst we were enjoying theirs! Thank you so much for looking after them! We will use you again. X

Our girl Skye was looked after as if she was one of their own. Absolutely brilliant place to have your dog looked after, by a couple, Donna and Steve, who understand your pets needs, and keep you informed if there are any issues during their stay. We would highly recommend them, and definatly use them again.

We’ve used Paradise Luxury Dog Retreat for over a year. Our two Border Terriers absolutely love it and cannot wait to see Donna and Steve. They come home tired and happy after spending the day playing with their friends and being able to spend time in an outside area with lots of grass. We can also enjoy the day seeing them go in happy and we have the knowledge that they are safe and very well cared for. Fantastic. Richard and Jo.

So grateful to have found The Country Dog Hotel for our boy. Despite not living close, we knew it was the right place for him & it definitely lived up to our expectations! From being picked up in style, to the daily pics/ vids (can I say almost professional photoshoots!) , to kindly administering his medication, to taking some pics of him to celebrate our wedding day, to having a direct line to Mike & Rebecca, to a goodie bag of homemade biscuits in a beautiful jute bag, to him returning home smelling AMAZING from his pampering session. Thank you so much for taking great care of him ❤️🌟🐾

Our miniature dachshund recently stayed with The Country Dog hotel, he does suffer from separation anxiety so we worried greatly about how he’d get on, but we needn’t have worried, they cared for our pup just like we do. When he was a bit anxious and sick, they had him checked over by their vet just to be on the safe side and kept us constantly updated, he even got to sleep in the human bed…on their heads and had loads of snuggles…he knows how to get what he wants! Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had regular updates, pictures and constant reassurance that our pup was doing great, in fact I think he wishes he could have stayed for longer! He was picked up and dropped back home in style, and even got some home baked dog biscuits with his name on. Thank you to everybody at the country dog hotel for looking after our Ralph and giving him a nice luxury holiday for 5 days and being the best at what you do, we had no doubt that he was cared for, loved and safe throughout his stay.

The Country Dog Hotel is absolutely incredible! Our cocker spaniel Archie was looked after from the moment he got picked up. Becks and Mike are so wonderful, as are all of the staff, and really make it feel like Archie is staying with family. They offer an amazing service and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough! It is all of the little touches that really show how much passion the team has - from all of the photos and videos you get sent, the spa treatments in a roll top bath, to the personalised home made biscuits he came home with! If you’re going on holiday, there is no place like it to know that your dog will be treated like part of a family!

Our labradoodle, Milo, recently had a VIP vacation at The Country Dog Hotel. I was worried about him staying as he does suffer with some anxiety from being away from us, but he had a splendid time and really enjoyed his 5* lifestyle. Nothing was too much trouble and I received lots of photos and updates from Mike to put my mind at rest. He had such a fantastic time that all he has done is sleep since! Milo will definitely be back for a stay in the future as I know his every need will be catered for and he will have so many amazing adventures. I highly recommend The Country Dog Hotel to any dog owner as it’s a home away from home experience.

Our dog Duffy had a wonderful stay here! Love seeing her smile in each photo. She enjoyed so many different fun activities there and even had a spa day! It’s good to have such a nice dog hotel and to know our beloved dog is in good hands. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Well picked our dog up last night and all he did was pine on the way home. I dont think he wanted to leave after 21 days. He looks healthier than when we dropped him off! Had regular updates while on holiday. Thank you for looking after him

After long and tedious searches to have our little girl whilst we were away we were so fortunate to find the Country Dog Hotel, Rebecca, Mike and the Team were absolutely fabulous and so professional. On our arrival we felt so happy and relaxed that Bella was staying at this amazing doggy hotel, it has the most idyllic surroundings for your loved one to be exercised and meet new friends whilst out on their daily walks. We received daily videos from the team which again gave us the reassurance that Bella was having a fabulous time and looked so happy. Our dog Bunty had a lovely stay here. She came back happy and settled into her normal routine straight away. She also had the Indulgence Spa treatment and she looked amazing. Debbie recently looked after our ducks & chickens for 10 days whilst we were abroad. We got daily updates with photos, which really put my mind at ease as I was so worried about leaving them. She was amazing, and she really did look after them for us. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for pet sitting services.

I highly recommend Pet Sitting Bridgwater. Debbie is the most caring person I have ever met. She took great care of our two cats while we were away, giving them the best care, treats and lots of petting 🥰 I was so impressed by her professionalism and reliabity. She was sending us daily texts about how our furry babies are doing, she even went the extra mile and bought them treats and toys. Special bonus the chocolates waiting for us when we returned home. Debbie is caring, efficient and professional. I have a nervous cat, and was worried about leaving her. I had no need to worry, as 'Moomoo' was very happy with Debbie... and she loved the cat treats! Debbie sent me daily updates and pictures. I will definitely be asking Debbie to look after Moomoo in the future.

We were concerned at first about using a service and a stranger to look after our nervous cat Mia, but we couldn’t have been more wrong. Debbie soon put our fears to bed and we couldn’t have asked for someone better to look after her. It’s a fantastic service and I’m so pleased that I didn’t have to leave Mia in a strange cattery. When we returned from holiday Mia was happy & chilled, all her food bowls were clean and plenty of water in her bowl. We will certainly use Debbie & pet sitting again and can’t recommend this service highly enough.

What a superb kennel! Mabel is a very bouncy, over confident and sometimes challenging Golden Retriever and it was with some trepidation that we decided to kennel her over Christmas to spend a few days away with family. We checked out kennels and had noticed this one on passing and decided to try. We were quite worried about her, but she apparently thoroughly enjoyed herself and was on her best behaviour. We were able to view her on the camera, both asleep and being played with. (What a great facility). She had a wonderful time from what we could see on camera and has arrived home very happy and relaxed. Staff were superb, very welcoming and helpful. Kennels were superbly clean and large. She apparently loved her food and has really enjoyed herself. I cannot recommend highly enough. Fantastic! Thank you.

Our lovely Great Dane stayed last weekend for a night to see how he got on. Absolutely no problems at all, in fact he wasn’t that bothered about seeing us! He was very relaxed and happy when we picked him up. All the staff were great with him, despite his size! Especially the chap (sorry I didn’t get his name) who had a Great Dane as a child. So you could tell he enjoyed having Apollo around ♥️ I would highly recommend 11/10

Your staff were excellent at drop off and pickup the facilities are wonderful. We felt confident leaving our dog with you the photos and videos confirmed that she was content happy and well cared for.

From the first meeting with Dave and Zoe I had complete confidence that this was a great place for my lively and sharp-witted collie/husky cross to stay and I was not disappointed! We returned after a week away to find Gary remarkably chilled-out and happy. A very special thanks to Dave for getting to grips with his character and keeping him entertained and mentally stimulated. I received photos of Gary (the dog) having great fun which confirmed my initial feelings. I cannot recommend Wags & Whiskers highly enough, from the excellent rooms to the caring and expert team. Gary is looking forward to his next visit to the spa. : ) Thank you!

my 3 girls have just had their first ever stay in kennels I was so nervous about leaving them but got some gorgeous pictures sent over around 24hours after they arrived and honestly they looked like they were having a fab time. my 9year old was my biggest concern as she would cry then minute I leave her even if it was with family. and one of my 1 year old pups is nervous/wary of new people especially males but the staff were fab they kept to just sending in female staff to my 3 and my pup was able to feel confident enough to form some friendships. the facilities are spotless we done a little tour around before even putting the girls in so I could see for myself what it was like and it sure lives up to it's name of hotel and spa they all have indoor areas along with a smaller outside area and then twice a day they get to stretch her legs and have a good run in the bigger grass runs. they offer nice long lead walks and many other things if you wanted to really spoilt them pooches. thank you to all the staff who were working on the days my girls were in you really did put my mind at ease. if your looking for kennels for your pups this is one place I would highly recommend.

Highly recommend wags and whiskers! Our romanian rescue is a large, beautiful handful but the staff here made a tremendous effort to make him feel relaxed, safe and happy. The facility is super clean, each dog has a sizeable indoor and outdoor space to get comfortable in. There's lots of little runs and a bigger one, all of them are fitted with equipment to make the space more fun and stimulating. We've had our dog since 2019 and sadly have had lots of bad kennel and boarding experiences, but we've finally found his home away from home ❤️🐾

Highly recommend Wags and Whiskers. We were looking for last second boarding due to an emergency and they responded to our enquiry quickly and were able to accommodate our dog. Ziggy is typically very nervous in boarding and whilst nervous on arrival, it appears he settled in, had a lovely time and was very comfortable around the owners when I returned for collection. The kennel block is very modern and clean and there is lots of outdoor space. Ziggy is knackered so has clearly had plenty of exercise!! We will be returning I'm sure.

Morgan was very well looked after, this was his first stay at the hotel, he is very nervous all the team where very good with him. Nothing was to much trouble. He had a lovely bath before we picked him up. We highly recommend .

Second time our cockerapoo has stayed here and he absolutely loves it! He is a very reactive dog but is totally spoilt by the staff and comes out really happy and relax. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for outstanding dog care.

Our dog Billy absolutely loves going to Bev’s for day care, as he gets to spend the day doing his two favourite things - walking and snoozing! We re-homed him last year, and think he had spent a lot of his life being left alone at home for most of the day. Since going to Bev’s, Billy has become much more confident and playful, and his days at day care have helped him to socialise and make lots of doggy friends! Bev is so kind to all the dogs, and her background as a veterinary nurse gives us complete peace of mind. The dogs go out on exciting and varied walks, and can then relax in her comfortable home. We couldn’t ask for anyone better to care for Billy, and would recommend Bev’s services to everyone!

We are so grateful to Beverley and Flora for making Stan’s first stay with them a comfortable and well cared for one. The daily updates, photos and videos were a great comfort while we were away. My spaniel has a wonderful time with Bev, Flora and the daycare dogs. Bev is very caring and clearly puts time & effort into making sure the dogs are well integrated and happy. She takes them on lovely walks, which my active dog loves. Bev also provides videos and photos to show the happy time they are having in the beautiful countryside of South Somerset. I am very pleased with this special and unique service that ensures my dog is exercised, engaged and has an enriched experience. The dogs are well looked after and safe. He comes home after a good day with his friends, tail wagging and happy!!

Bev has visited our cat for the last 10 months on a regular basis and is absolutely excellent. She cares for our cat impeccably well and keeps us updated with WhatsApp photos/videos on every visit. Bev also ensures our home is secure and locked after each visit. Thankfully our pet has not been unwell whilst we have been away, but I am confident that Bev would address any illness issues of our cat swiftly and keep us informed. Thank you for all you do!

Our dog Bertie has a lovely time at daycare with Happy Pets and Paws. Bev makes sure all of the dogs get on well, they have different walks every day and lots of one on one interaction too as they are never in a big group. We also get lots of updates and videos on their walks. Would highly recommend for any daycare or walking services.

For assurance that your dogs and cats are in good hands when you go on holiday then get peace of mind with Bev at Happy Pets and Paws in Ilminster. After many years of excellent, caring attention we would highly recommend Bev. We have cats - at times many cats! - and they really do enjoy staying at home rather than going away for their holiday. They were getting stressed being taken away to holiday homes and then again on the return trip. Bev allows them to remain in their own familiar home in stress free surroundings. We have had cats with a wide range of ages and requirements, including some old timers like us requiring medications, but Bev provides all the care they need. As she is a qualified veterinary nurse, this is an obvious bonus because we know that she will spot if something is not right and will be on hand to sort it out. Bev also keeps us updated while we are away and you can hear the love and attention she provides. We have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who wants a professional, caring and friendly ‘mum’ to keep your pampered ones happy while you are away.

Honey has a fabulous time with Bev and Flora (and the rest of the gang) Bev provides a caring service with excellent communication and is flexible with our working hours. We have used HPP for boarding as well and it is reassuring knowing Honey has so much fun while we are away. We especially like that Bev only accepts well mannered and sociable dogs. Would highly recommend and we intend to continue sending Honey to HPP for many years to come!

Highly qualified, very professional dog Walker and carer. Unhappy that we hadn’t used all of the same commands as she uses, for dog training. Has a very small garden. Own dog and our dog just didn’t click? No idea why. So despite having paid lots of money for a holiday we had to then cancel. When we tried to book again we were rejected. Lots of time wasted as we wanted someone for emergencies and dog free occasions like Weddings . Paid for test visits, and accepted. Then when we needed help we had to start searching all over again. I’m disabled and have limited mobility so this was a big problem.

My dog has been going to Happy Pets & Paws for daycare for about 7 years now, and still absolutely loves it. Bev provides a very high quality service and always puts the dogs and their welfare first, all whilst being extremely professional and totally reliable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her services.

Highly recommended! We have 5 Hungarian Vizslas in our home, and as a gundog breed, they are lively and may be considered a bit of a handful if you don’t know them. After initial introductions which Sax accommodated at short notice, she did a brilliant job with a home visit to care for the dogs while we were away for the day. She not only managed to identify each one individually by name and personality, but she ticked every box in terms of being responsible, caring, friendly and reliable. Sax demonstrated all the things you’d need to feel comfortable about leaving your pets (and the security of your home when leaving) in her very capable hands. Glad we have found our new ‘go to’ pet service provider, giving us peace of mind that our dogs will enjoy their time with her and be well managed.

Sax has taken the time to get to know my rescue dog Charlie who is rather nervous of people. Saxan took the time to 'bump' into us so Charlie could get used to her being near him and eventually built up to getting him in the van to go on group walks on a longline so he's not missing out on the fun but doesn't become a flight risk! Charlie loves his walkies with the Wags & Whiskers crew and comes back well exercised. I get lots of pictures and videos showing him having fun.

Nova 🐾 has been on wonderful adventures and then been returned, clean and comfortable, home - so that I can focus elsewhere when life dictates. Thank you 🙏 …

Wags and Whiskers have been amazing at fitting in with the needs of our family and taking on our English Bull Terrier, Koda. Sax was very keen to hear about our training methods and ensure she continues to use the correct terminology to improve her time with Koda. She is very analytical and cares deeply for the pack and most importantly, the needs of the individual dogs. Every walk has been accompanied by a large selection of pictures and a rundown of what our dog has been up to! We couldn't be happier.

Nothing is ever to much trouble for Sax! She will always pick up Roo at late notice if she has the space when I need an extra walk for him. The walks are varied and he always comes home tired out and ready for a nap. Sax has really taken the time to get to know Roo and has a good understanding of his personality and behaviours. Roo gets so excited when he see's sax coming up the path to collect him. Roo has had the opportunity to mix with other dogs and have some one on one walks too. I am so pleased we decided to try a dog walker and now I really don't know how we managed before we had her. 😊🐾 Thank-you 🐶

My chihuahua absolutely adores Sax ! I’ve been really happy with all the updates I get from his walks and I am 100 % confident he is in safe hands when he is out and about walking or in the van. He is always returned towel dried which is a major plus when your interior is all cream and light grey ! I couldn’t recommend this dog walking service any less than a 10/10 !

Barney has the best time out with Sax and the rest of the pack on his walks! We can’t wait to hear how he gets on and always look forward to seeing the pictures after. Sax is so lovely and we couldn’t think of anyone better to take care of our mischievous little pup!

Saxan is dedicated to providing quality dogwalking care. She is conscientious and trustworthy, and has a natural ability in handling dogs. I always receive a photo update and a reassuring message after every walk. My little chap is very happy on her group walk sessions. We are so lucky to have found Bark and Play and would not have anyone else look after our dog. She goes out every week for a few adventures and comes back so happy and ready to relax which is perfect when we both work full time. We also found how well behaved our dog is after her training throughout the week. We have used Bark and Play for their pet boarding services. We were sent regular updates and pictures which was comforting to see our dog settled and happy while we were on holiday. We would be very lost without Bark and Play and really appreciate their amazing services.

A very well run and highly efficient pet service. Everything is by the book and both Liam and Joanne go above and beyond just walking or boarding your pet. They will get your dog to play "sniff and find" games, arrange hours long adventure trails (very good value) and will leave you with a card or notes detailing behaviour and impressions on the walks. At the weekends they send you great photos of your dog on the walks. They clearly love animals and I can highly recommend them.

Barking Mad Taunton found us the perfect host for our two dogs while we had a lovely holiday knowing our dogs were being well cared for. After the distress they suffered after their last time in kennels this is the perfect solution. Will certainly use them again.
