Dog Sitters in The Scottish Borders

Fabulous fun for our big energetic puppy who comes home every evening after totally played out and blissfully exhausted. Everyone I have spoken to has been lovely and obviously very considerate of ALL the dogs regardless of size and breed 😁

Never thought our 3 year old GSD would ever be able to socialise with other dogs after being reactive and by himself most of the time, but he's been loving his first week at day care and Leonie has been keeping me up to date with his progress every day. I know he's getting well looked after and it's great to see him making some new friends and enjoying his days.

What can I say that hasn't been said before. This place is the Mutts Nuts. Hamish loves it and would like to go everyday if he could. 😂 Get your dog in here you won't regret it. 👍🐕🐕

When I first got my puppy I was concerned about her social skills during the pandemic and if it was going to have an effect on her behaviour! Thansk to doggy day care my puppy Sansa is a social butterfly! I feel confident to leave my pup in safe hands! Staff are full of knowledge and have really helped me become a new dog dad. :) Thanks to everyone at Doggy Day Care! When walking and my dog sees another dog, it's a friendly interaction and a moving on process which wasn't before doggy day care :) Socialising my pup was the best thing ever!

My little lab pup attended recently and the people at doggy day care are just amazing. I could tell from when I picked my puppy up that he had the best time. The set up and areas for the dogs are just amazing you can tell from the moment you drop your dog off that he/she will be well looked after. 100% would recommend.

Dogs are always treated with utmost care, they always are happy to attend and I always see my pup get very excited when I mention that she's going to the Galashiels Doggy Day Care. Cannot recommend this place nearly enough!

Pippin started at GDDC when she was about 6 months old. Leonie and her staff are fab with their doggies and introduced Pippin slowly to the rest of the 'gang'. Being at GDDC has really helped Pippins socialisation and she LOVES going there. Great to have the option of a half or full day and great to know that Pippin is loved just as much at GDDC (despite stealing everyone's hats in the winter) as she is at home.

Our dog Poppy has been going to the day care since she was 13 weeks old and it has had such a positive impact on her. It has massively improved her confidence with other people and other dogs while also reinforcing her obedience training. The wonderful people at daycare have always gone above and beyond to help us out and are committed to the dogs.

Wow, what a place. Our dog Fletch goes weekly and has the time of his life. Social and interaction with other dogs and the human are great too. Picked up from home in the Hilltop Bus, fantastic day and then returned home. 5 star service and 5 star care!!! He sits in the window ever week waiting on the bus and gets so excited when they arrive.

Hilltop are amazing, all the staff I've spoken with or met are extremely kind and helpful, my dog Boba loves going there, I actually believe he thinks he's their dog too. They take amazing pictures of all the dogs and treat them all like there a part of a giant family. I couldn't recommend a better service, team and group of people. Also you get to enjoy a hilarious update of what your dog has been getting up too.

I started Nala off at Hiltops puppy school from approx 16weeks old and haven’t looked back since. She always so excited to go and has grown into a well rounded, super sociable, loving dog. All the staff are amazing and very attentive to ours needs. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Our Golden Retriever Finn has been going to Hilltop once a week since he was a puppy and we couldn't be happier. The team there are incredible, they've taken the time to get to know Finn helping him grow into a well rounded and confident dog. We love that we can ask any staff member how his day went and get a detailed report, a fun story, or even helpful advice on what we can work on at home. We're beyond thrilled with Hilltop and we know Finn is too!

Our dog has been attending Hilltop since it started, and our experience of it is consistently excellent across the board. From pick-up and drop-off (even when we're not at home) to hearing how he's doing, getting in touch with the staff to ask for extra days, swaps, etc., and seeing photos at the end of the day, every aspect of our interactions with Hilltop is first class. Far more importantly than that, however: it's so clear to us how much our dog loves his time there! He utterly adores the staff that pick him up, spend the day with him, and drop him off again, and it's crystal clear that the staff really care about and know the dogs as individual characters. He's got some really good pals amongst the doggies too, and we've seen him grow in confidence and sociability. We feel that he's in such safe hands, and we absolutely trust Jon, Mhairi, Claire, Carly, and the rest of the team to make sure that he has a joyful, enriching (and tiring!) time. Thank you Hilltop, and I'd highly recommend!

Our dog loves his day at Hilltop playing with his friends. The doggy bus is invaluable, picking him up & dropping him off. He is well looked after and I trust the staff to do their best for Teddy. We love waiting for the photos of his antics too. Can't recommend enough.

Our Springer, Archie loved Hilltop Doggy Day Care, from his very first visit for his trial session. He always seems to know when it’s a Thursday, he sits looking over the back of the sofa out the window, waiting for Carly to come & collect him. Then he can’t get out the door quick enough to see her and get in the van. One of our main reasons for sending him, is his lack of recall, daycare gives the freedom to have a good run around & play with other dogs. Can’t recommend them highly enough, we know that Archie is well looked after & enjoying himself.

Amazing day care. Harris starts his morning being picked up in the doggy bus by Carly. Always so excited to see her and cant wait to leave with her! The photos taken throughout the day and posted on facebook give a great insight to the fun all the dogs are having. Harris returns home always content and tired. Well done Hilltops

Fabulous company - clearly care deeply for dogs. Our fur babies can’t wait to get into the van when collected! Great to have a photo slide deck of who they were playing with and what they got up to after their ‘school day’ . Hilltop are careful about the group mix to ensure that personalities/behaviours are a fit. Great to know that they are safe and having the opportunity to play with dogs of all sizes. When they come home, they are just exhausted and very laidback. Big high 5 from us !!

Our gang of 4 cats Jack, Tink, Bella and Barney stayed with Laurie at Maple House Cattery just recently. The service we received and the care and attention my cats were given was just amazing from the start. Laurie has been extremely helpful and professional, inviting me to visit the cattery before booking to see the facilities and has been very understanding of everyones needs, including my own - THANK YOU!. Tink is a very nervous traveller (had a wee accident on route) and Jack requires medication twice a day but neither was a problem to Laurie who helped me clean Tink up on arrival and was more than happy to administer Jacks medication as needed. Bella was very nervous and stressed for the first day but Laurie soon had her coming out to say hello. We received an inital update and daily pictures, which was fantastic to see how well they were all settling in....some maybe enjoying the lovely cosy beds Laurie provides a little to much 😁. The cattery is kept impeccably clean. The facilities are new and warm with the cats getting out daily in a secure area for play time. We will most definitely call on Laurie at Maple House Cattery again and would without question recommended to anyone else looking for cat boarding facilities. We truly felt our cats were cared for and engaged with throughout their stay - this is not just your regular cat boarding facility! So thankful of your understanding through a difficult time for us and the time you have taken to look after our gang. Massive thank you to Laurie and all at Maple House Cattery 😻

Our boys had their first stay ever in a cattery. We are so glad that we chose Maple House. The boys settled in straight away and we were spoilt with photos & updates each day. Nothing was too much trouble for Laurie & we were very impressed with the cleanliness & warmth of the place. Can’t recommend them highly enough a safe & cosy home away from home.

We have used Maple House regularly since getting our (first) kitten and really feel like we have found the best we could have hoped for. Brilliant communication, always accommodating and plenty pictures and updates of play time. Can not recommend highly enough.

Had our cat Hamish stay here recently from Monday-Friday. Hamish was incredibly well looked after and Laurie kept us up to date regarding his eating etc. We also got plenty photos which was fab as we could see he was happy! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Very friendly service and nothing is too much hassle communication was great. The cattery itself is spotless and very well equipped and a fab size.

This was the first time I’ve ever put my fur babies into a cattery and I was slightly apprehensive 😕 But Maple house cattery didn’t disappoint and done a marvellous job caring and interacting with Grogu and Floki I highly recommend them and will certainly use them in the future 🥰 …

Laurie and her team are amazing. I needed my cat looked after whilst I moved and they were very accommodating. I got regular updates and pictures of him whilst he was in their care. Highly recommend and will use again. Thank you for taking such good care of my wee Mr T 🐈💕

Our half Siamese cat who likes company and is very inquisitive was very happy at this fantastic Cattery. He received love and attention and was kept warm and snug in high quality modern cubicles. Angus was let out to play in two areas with cat tunnels and toys. The service and efficiency was excellent. We received WhatsApp posts with photos. There was even calm music in background ! I highly recommend Maple House and Angus will become a regular customer.

Maple House Cattery looked after our Zinc when we were away for a period of 3 weeks, from start to finish they were very informative, and kept us up to date mostly every day with pictures or information on how our cat was, which helped us both with being away for so long, we were so thankful. For future occasions we will most definetely be using their service and would recommend this 100% to anybody else thinking about it and willing to use this facility. No faults or complaints, we are both very appreciative of the time being taken to look after Zinc, A big thank you to Maple House Cattery.

We discovered this little gem of a place. Leaving my little 6 month old furbaby for the 1st time I was extremely worried she may fret or not eat but from day 1 Elaine put me at ease & kept me updated with messages and made my little Minnie part of the family showing her lots of love, attention & care. Elaine is such a lovely lady & it’s clear to see she loves her animals infact Minnie was reluctant to leave & tried to go back into her kennel. She’s came out happy & healthy & a little chubbier due to her gravy bone treats. I highly recommend & will be booking again for our next holiday. Thank you so much Elaine I felt like I left her with a family member.

Such a lovely lady, who clearly loves dogs. We had to attend a funeral in Galashiels at short notice and she kindly agreed to look after our dog while we were there. It’s not often you find such generous hearted people. She is a gem and I would highly recommend Arthurshiel Kennrls.

Elaine is without doubt the best place to leave our dogs. They absolutely love to see her and dropping them off I know they are in safe hands, so no longer spend our holidays worrying about them as they've been coming for 5 years now. Darcey and Dakota always remember Elaine and maybe even sulk on coming home as she is so lovely!

Perfect place to leave my GSD, they know the breed and my boy is very well looked after. Totally recommend Arthurshiel if you want a professional kennel to look after your best friend.

Having lost our 18year old cat and unsure whether to replace her with another moggie, we are being allowed to visit for cat cuddles anytime till a new fur baby comes into our lives!

Would definitely board here again having 3 border collies 2 boys and a girl they definetly had a ball the 2boys had a bit of discrepancy which was sorted right away they definitely know how to handle dogs thanks Shona and Stephen and the rest of the staff

The times they offer for both daycare and boarding are not suitable to many people with actual lives. The man was rude down the phone as I didn't understand why I couldn't have my dog boarded for more than 4 hours over the weekend. This left us pretty stuck with care. Can't understand why they have business as their attitude towards potential customers and unusual open times makes no sense. I've seen many boarders and day cares over the years and this is the strangest one yet. Unhelpful and misleading in many ways. Don't take my advice...ring and work it out for yourselves.

Had my boxer in for the weekend with Stephen and his staff, he had an absolute ball and was so well looked after. Would highly recommend using these kennels for your fur babies. ⭐️

I would like to thank all the staff for looking after our wee boy Max. We have never used kennels before and to be honest we were a little apprehensive, but after picking him up and getting him home he seems fine.Still as mad as ever and no change in behaviour at all. We as a family were impressed that the kennels made sure Max was up to date with his vaccinations. Thanks again

It was a very bad experience. The guy was very impolite and rude. The prices weren’t what they were on the website page. It’s impossible to collect your dog on a Sunday. It means that you need to take an extra day off just to collect your dog. In conclusion, I don’t recommend leaving your dogs there.

More than happy to have my ageing pooch here. Good, kind people. I put 4 stars as I've used these kennels only four times so not that experienced.

My little pooch seemed to have a good time there and more importantly he liked the people if not the other dogs

Shannon and Daniel are lovely approachable people dedicated to animals. My puppy loves going to doggy day care and I am very impressed on how good they have helped train him on the lead. I am very confident that my puppy will have Top Dogs in his life for a long time and will help me with any problems I need help with.

We had a death in the family and travelled to Peebles for the funeral. All our local dog boarders were full, so our Bella had to adventure the journey along with us from South Devon. When I contacted Daniel, he instantly put me at ease that they'd be able to take care of Bella on the day of the funeral and offered for her to stay as long as needed. We left Bella early in the morning and she was very contend when we fetched her late afternoon. Thank you Daniel and Shannon helping us out in this difficult time with us knowing Bella was in such good hands 🐶🥰

Absolutely delighted with the regular doggy daycare that Shannon and Daniel give our Milo. He absolutely loves his days playing with his wee pals, living his best life! His confidence around other dogs has also came on amazingly which has made his boring walks at home so much nicer. They are worth a million times more than the very little they charge.

Daniel and Shannon are most reliable and know how to respond to our dog who can be a handful. They are extremely flexible and we have come to rely on them to assist because we are both fully employed. Our dog Pip loves her walks with them. Also good photographers. We would thoroughly recommend them

Our two working border collies boys have just been in for Doggie Day Care and I would highly recommend! As they are (much loved) farm dogs, sometimes they can struggle to settle in to new places, but they were so relaxed and happy when we collected them! Would definitely reccomend and will be back! Thank you so much again.

I have 2 very needy dachshunds and was recommended to use Top Dog Sitting from a local Facebook page. I contacted them to look after our dogs for a week whilst we went on holiday and I couldn’t be anymore happier with the their service. They kept us updated throughout the week and our dogs were so happy (and exhausted from the walks and fun!). I have since used them for an emergency cover with short notice and was again put at ease knowing the dogs are in the best hands. Would highly recommend!

I got let down by my kennels at the last minute before going to a wedding and top dog was brilliant they took the booking at the last minute and even managed my 1 year old chowski who is quite nervous around strangers her first groom. They kept me informed on how she was getting on and looked after her beautifully I couldn't rate them high enough thank you so much for looking after my baby so well I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has a dog they do doggy day care and night stays and grooms the full package in one place and they treated my dog like a queen thanks so much top dog in peebles

Top Dogs are excellent: they are punctual and completely reliable. My Border Terrier is afraid of other dogs and can be difficult, but he loves his walks with Top Dogs. They handle him with sensitivity and I'm very confident that he's in good hands. They are also flexible. I often have to ask for extra walks at short notice and that's never a problem. I thoroughly recommend them.

Christine has looked after our cat twice now; once for a couple of days when we moved home last year, then more recently for a week when we were on holiday. She is so thoughtful towards her guests and the posts about their antics are welcome to put your mind at ease. Highly recommend.

An absolutely fabulous place to leave your cats when you go on holiday. Christine cares for your pets as if they were her own. From regular cuddles and attention to an actual weigh in weekly, nothing is too much. I was most impressed by the 24/7 CVTV coverage in all the pens.

Christine provides a wonderful service to both cats and humans alike. She is kind and attentive - my cat almost didn't want to come home! The cattery chalets themselves are spacious, solidly constructed and provide everything even a fussy feline could want.

Cannot recommend Christine's Cat Care highly enough! Christine and Ben are just great, providing excellent care and attention, along with fantastic facilities! With our boy being nearly 12, very timid and of course, spoilt, we were worried how he’d settle but absolutely no concerns there as he was a very happy boy for his stay.

Christine’s Cat Care is amazing, first time I’ve ever put my wee cat into boarding, she was booked in for 4 days and we received daily, often twice daily updates, with photos of how she was settling in. Definitely recommend and already booked in for a further week and fortnight later in the year, without having to worry about how our young wee cat is going to be looked after. Absolutely amazing. My dog Archie stayed with Borders Boarding for 11 nights and he absolutely loved the place and the staff. The grounds are lovely and peaceful, with beautiful walks, which suits Archie as he can be very nervous with loud noises. Very professional and take on board your dogs' needs. Archie suffers from elbow dysplasia and Neil, and the staff catered to Archies needs regarding his condition. I received daily updates and pictures of Archie which made my holiday more enjoyable knowing Archie was enjoying his holiday and being cared for like home from home. I will always use Boarders Boarding in the future and would definitely recommend it. Thank you for making Archie's holiday and mine enjoyable. I'm looking forward to sending Archie to you again.

We were extremely anxious knowing we had to find a Day and Night Boarding facility for our French Bulldog Puppy and were under no circumstances wanting to put her into kennels. We stumbled across Borders Boarding whilst googling local business and after a half day introduction, booked Bella in for Tuesday Boardings to begin with and get her use to being somewhere other than our home for the day. Bella settled in very quickly and both Neil and James have treated her as if she was their own. Bella had her first overnight weekend stay a few weeks ago and we received regular updates on her progress. Bella is very relaxed, calm and happy every time we collect her, on dropping off she knows the minute we get onto the sweeping drive up to the house where she is going and does a dance in her car seat, super excited. The Boarding facility is a home environment set in a tranquil, peaceful countryside setting which is perfect for Bella, I would highly recommend Neil and James at Borders Boarding to anyone who wishes home comforts and only the best care for their pooch

My boys loved staying with Borders Boarding. They felt right at home from the minute they walked in a real home from home. They had fantastic walks just outside the front door and even a stream to have a dip and with a nice warm place to dry out and sleep what more could they want. Did they miss us, not one bit.

My black lab enjoyed his stay, got on really well with their dogs. Felt really relaxed with picture & video updates throughout the week. Would definitely choose borders boarding as my dogs go to holiday place & highly recommend to anyone looking for a non-kennel stay as the stay is just like home. Thanks again and will definitely book him I on our next holiday abroad.

So pleased we found Borders Boarding. I personally didn’t want to put Bertie into a kennels as he is such a home boy. Borders Boarding offered Bertie a safe, home environment with an abundance of land for him to run around in and us piece of mind knowing he was happy and being so well looked after. I can’t recommend Borders Boarding enough and Bertie can’t wait to stay again.

My 2.5 Yr old labrador adored the 2 resident GSP's. Running and playing all day and snoring his head off in the evenings. I loved the updates and pics and we will be using Borders Boarding again. A knowledgeable and safe haven. Thanks 👍 …

Neil is fantastic with our 3-year old Airedale Terrier, who always has such a great time at Borders Boarding exploring the beautiful contryside and running around the garden with the other dogs. He is very accomodating of our dog's particular needs, such as his daily routine and dietary requirements - he really makes it a home away from home for him! I couldn't recommend Borders Boarding enough!

My 9 year old toy poodle had a great day with Neil at Borders Boarding. She got on great with the resident dogs and really enjoyed all the lovely outdoor space they have to run around in.

My dogs came home happy and content after their holiday. One of them found her first experience of kennels rather stressful, and was particularly well looked after. I am most impressed by the excellent service.

Roux and Baxter love their weekly daycare trips to Sandy paws on a Tuesday and It’s lovely to know that when we go on holiday our dogs are looked after so well when they are in for boarding. Wouldn’t send our dogs anywhere else. X

Lisa was very welcoming and thorough in all checks and explanation of what would happen during Ghosts stay. The kennels are very clean and well maintained. It is clear to see that Lisa takes great pride in her business and its no suprise to know that I would happily recommend these kennels and will be bringing Ghost back when I'm next away. 1st big night away from mum and dad. It went extremely well my wife settled down after roaming around the house looking out the windows and going to her usual seat,however I had it bad looking lost across the lounge pining for my pal,eventually I managed to get a grip and curled up on the couch . In the morning when picking up our dog who had obviously had a ball and never missed us a bit. Lisa's welcome and response was fantastic she really gets to know the animal's in her care. So if your worried about kennels, the dog's under Lisa are very well looked after it is amazing and plain to see. Thank you from Hugo Steve and Nic.

Naomi's service has been a godsend to us after my husband suffered a stroke earlier this year. It has been a great help to know our dogs are looked after and walked. The dogs love going to the doggy day care 3 times a week .

We used Naomi when we visited Scotland for a few days and had our dog with us. He was only there a few hours but we could tell he was happy and had been busy has he slept all the way back!
