Annie sat for our cat, Tuna, over a long weekend. She was extremely kind and self-sufficient. When we arrived home, Tuna was relaxed and happy and our apartment was as clean and tidy as we had left it. Annie would be welcome to sit for us again any time, we'd highly recommend her.
I could not have asked for a better first experience with zeewoi! Jordan and Nataki were great at communicating from the very start, and they sent me pictures and updates every day. I didn’t have to worry for a moment that my cat Anya was feeling lonely because I could tell she warmed up right away, even though she’s usually quite shy! They also went above and beyond making sure my apartment was tidy for when I got home. So grateful and would definitely be honored for them to sit for me again any time!
Francesco has been taking care of my furry babies and my place while I'm away for well over a year now, and I couldn't appreciate him more. He is a joy to communicate with, and the most reliable person one could hope for. Being able to count on him while I'm traveling makes a world of difference, because I know I don't need to worry about anything while I'm away. Benny and Zumba love him and are very well taken care of. I know because I come home to two very relaxed and happy kitties. I am super grateful to have found Francesco!
Hannah and Joseph were so kind, so communicative, and clean! Kevin seemed so happy in all the photos they sent. Not only did they wash my sheets and towels they used (without my requesting it, simply out of the kindness of their hearts), they ALSO then put my fresh sheets on the bed! 🥹❤️ Such incredible sitters. 10 stars!
Misti was wonderful! She was able to come by before I left town to meet my dog, Grace, which I really appreciated. She sent daily pics or videos and made sure that Grace got tons of snuggle time, which is a major requirement to keep my dog happy :) Cats and skateboards are evil enemies to Grace and it sounds like Misti experienced both and handled it flawlessly! Misti was a great communicator, left everything tidy for me when I got home and Grace was super mellow and relaxed, which tells me she got all the care she needed while I was gone. I highly recommend Misti - I'll definitely be asking her to sit again!
Lilly and Thomas stayed at our house and cared for our dogs for a month. I think they took the dogs to the beach nearly every day. Seeing pictures of our dogs on the beach made our time away from them feel so much better. Our house was immaculate when we returned, and we felt so fortunate to have such kind and loving people step in for us in our absence. Anyone would be super lucky to have them in their home.
Gwynn was wonderful! She was super communicative, flexible to come to our house beforehand to get oriented, and attentive to details. She connected with our pup, Scout, immediately and we felt so assured that he would be well cared for with her. We hope Gwynn can come stay again another time!
I was thrilled to have Courtenay as our sitter. We had a few last minute changes and she was very accommodating. She is a very pleasant, well spoken person who bonded very quickly with our dog, Pepe. We were in Europe and Courtenay keep us we’ll informed via internet, pictures and all. We came home to a clean house, a happy pet and a delicious pie she left for us in the refrigerator. You would be very pleased to have her as your sitter. Lucy Hottle
Wendy was great, she kept us updated on the dogs and all the fun she had hiking with them on the mountain. I returned home to a very tidy house. My dogs just loved her. I will definitely have Wendy sit for me again and would be very lucky to have her do a sit for you.
Julian and Susan were amazing, we came home to happy healthy creatures and a clean, tidy home and yard. They communicated with us during our vacation, both about anything unusual and just to let us know when things were going well (as they were the majority of the time). They are very adaptable and capable people, I highly recommend them for your home and pet needs.

Julia was an amazing house sitter and dog sitter! She sent me photos and updates every day, she took my pup Jordan on long walks and gave him the love, care, and patience that he needs. She was so easy and comfortable to communicate with and she left the house so clean and tidy for when I came back. Definitely recommend her!!!
David and Elynn were fabulous pet sitters and house sitters. Our dog and rabbit were well-taken care of, the house was left even cleaner than when they arrived! I would highly recommend David and Elynn, and would happily have them again! David and Elynn took excellent care of our dog Cosmo and our rabbit Oreo. They made sure they were happy, well-fed, and got exercise and fresh air! We were very happy to receive several photos of our furry friends while we were away. They took amazing care of the house and yard, and were very open with communication. If they were uncertain of anything or had a question, they were very open about reaching out! David and Ellyn were wonderful houseguests, who left the house even cleaner than they found it! I would highly recommend David and Elynn and their two adorable children. They are wonderful, respectful people who definitely love animals and will give your pets and home lots of care! Thank you!! :)
Sue and Richard were greeted enthusiastically by the dogs ! They sent me pics of the dogs having a good time on the beach . Which is always reassuring. I can recommend them as dog sitters and they arrived on time and were packed up when I got back
Jerry gets a five star in every area! We actually connected on the phone before he ever arrived but once he got here, it was like we known each other forever! He was very thorough and how he was going to take care of the dogs and the house!! very friendly with the dogs, and they immediately connected with him!! dogs know when they are💖💖 he arrived early so he could become familiar with Circus and tinker and the house and we had a meal together and quickly became best friends! He sent pictures while we were away and updates. Every day. He was gone by the time we came back, but it honestly looked like he had never been in the house. Everything was perfect just like we left it.❗️❗️❗️ so if you’re looking for a Pet Sitter that is reliable in every way, and you know for sure is going to take good care of your pets this man is the one you want to have come to your home❗️❗️ you won’t be disappointed and I can promise you that💖🎉
The best house and dog sitters you could ever ask for! They love and take care of our dogs like we do and do the same with our home. Thank you so much Ken and Jane! You are very much appreciated and loved by us, Jules and Lexi ❤️😇🐶
Angela provided complicated medical care for my sick dog for three weeks in Mexico City with the utmost professionalism and kindness Right before Angela’s arrival, my dog was hospitalized and almost died. Angela took care of follow up vets visits, administered eight medicines a day for two weeks, and nursed tico completely back to health I could tell from the photos and videos that she was taking excellent care of him - he was too weak to walk so she made a comfy bed for him in a large bag and carried him a over the city so he could still have fun during his recovery I could not recommend Ángela more. She went so far above and beyond what a pet sitter should do, and she did it all with a caring and capable attitude
We initially accepted Deirdre and Jason for a long stay to look after our dogs. We were very happy they accepted. A few weeks later we realized we needed another sitter for another trip we had planned. So, we posted more dates on zeewoi. To our happy surprise, Deirdre and Jason reached out to us saying they could also look after our dogs and home with the new dates we posted. This made our life much easier and we were very confident to have Deirdre and Jason stay longer with us and care for our dogs. We were definitely right!! D&J have countless experiences on zeewoi with very good reviews from all of their previous sits. They are very experienced with all aspects of a house/pet sitting. D&J are very self-sufficient, have the background knowledge and education of pet care, and most importantly a genuine love for all animals. This is most important for my wife and I. We knew from the first meeting with our pups they loved animals. Communication was excellent. The process before and during our sit was stress-free for us. We were given daily updates on our dogs including photos and videos. Any concerns D&J had were vocalized to us. D&J are also problem solvers and know how to react many challenging situations. Our routine for our pets was followed immaculately and all dogs were very happy and connected with them. Even our female dog Kinki grew close so quickly with D&J which is very rare. We had ZERO issues while we were gone and we were able to really enjoy our trip while we were away. The dogs definitely love being around D&J. Homecare: We are very pleased with the condition of our home when we returned. It was clean, free of clutter, and exactly how we had left it for them, if not even better! D&J even mowed our grass and took care of our yard! Our yard is not a small garden. It is very big and takes hours to mow. So we were very surprised and excited to know they did that for us even though it's not expected of our sitters!! They definitely went above and beyond what is expected. Our dogs are so very important to us. When we know we can trust our sitters it's the best feeling in the world. We definitely trust Deirdre and Jason with our most prized possessions and we look forward to the next sit with them in a few days!!! We can't thank them enough for giving our dogs the love and attention they deserve. We highly recommend Deirdre and Jason for your future sittings and you can always feel free to contact Izabela and I about D&J for additional verification from us. They are fantastic! Thanks so much Deirdre and Jason! -Allen and Izabela
Care and compassion for my dogs was at the top of the list of John's attributes. He was the first sitter I have used through zeewoi that was close enough to come meet the dogs before the sit. John not only came for an initial meet and greet, but he made time to meet the pups a second time prior to my departure to better familiarize himself with both the dogs and my home. Having put the fear of God in him about Penny's reactivity (I might have been a bit over the top, but better more attentive than less!), he was cautious with her in the beginning. Later in the sit, they trooped off to the beach on multiple occasions - all good! My 10-yr-old was on some meds for a serious battle with arthritis, and John managed Cooper's needs beautifully. John even made a call and a trip to the vet to re-up Coop's prescription when it was clear he needed to continue the protocol. I received daily updates by text, including photos and video; communication is hugely important to me. I feel blessed to have had John care for my fur-babies.
Hamsa was very quick to respond in all communication. She was prompt on her arrival and listened carefully to our detailed instructions about the house and dogs. While we were away the amount of communication between us was just right. When we arrived home the dogs were happy and the house was in order. A good sign that a dog sitter paid lots of attention to the pups is when we see a bit of depression set in after a dog sitter departs - this did occur after Hamsa left our home She is a very caring and nurturing individual.
You could not ask for better house and pet sitters than Ken and Jane! Before the sit: Communicating with Ken and Jane prior to our scheduled week went smoothly. They were proactive about planning. They came out to the house prior to the sit and spent a couple of hours going over things about the house, meeting the pets, and getting familiar and comfortable with everything. They were delightful people to meet; I was wishing for a couple of days to just hang out and play tourist with them! During the sit: Ken and Jane sent me daily updates and photos of their outings with my pups and with their interactions with my kitties. I appreciated how they chose the sit partly because of their love of exploring rural areas, because that's what I have here! They were perfectly suited to my home and pets. Ken absolutely loves cats and is an intuitive and experienced kitty-handler. Jane really bonded with one of my kitties; both of them made great progress with all three of my cats, each of which is pretty shy at first, and one can be a real problem child. They worked very hard to give love to each pet and ensure that each felt calm, happy, and cared for. They spend tons of time outdoors with my border collie/retrievers. The dogs had daily "spa time" after walks and outdoor playtime, having their long fur brushed on my front porch (which the dogs love!). They sent me happy photos every day. If anything came up, they just handled it. They really seemed to enjoy their adventures and the pets each day, which made my time away that much more enjoyable. After the sit: I was thankful to have some time with Ken and Jane when I returned from my trip. All the pets were calm, happy, and healthy when I got home. Ken and Jane had left me a detailed note about that last day to make re-entry easy. They sweetly left a thank you note and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table also (a very sweet and unexpected surprise!). They seemed quite sad to leave my "kids;" Jane left with tears in her eyes, saying goodbye to my dogs. We've kept in touch since the sit. My whole house really misses them. Oh, and the house was immaculate and plants all watered (inside and out) when I got home! If you're looking for kind, competent, caring, organized and responsible people to care for your home and pets, invite Ken and Jane!

Jen was great! We made arrangements with the understanding plans might slightly change on my part. She was receptive as she was sitting other dogs but I was respectful of her time. We were in communication b4 meeting up and leading towards picking our babies up from her location. My two dogs took to her right off the bat, even though my female dog is typically very leery of strangers. They behaved as if they knew her for a long time. When we picked them up they happily ran towards us, but kept looking back at her. We could tell they enjoyed their time with her. I definitely recommend her and definitely will use her again if/when I find I’m in her area again. Thank you again Jen! 💐🐶 ❤️🐶
I am so happy I found Jen! Our dog is a rescue and can be very nervous and suffers from separation anxiety. Jen welcomed her with open arms and always goes above and beyond to accommodate her needs. Our dog absolutely loves her and I have zero worries when I leave her with Jen. Jen has also saved the day several times when we needed a last minute per sitter. She is kind and an animal lover. She also sends pics and updates which I love! I would recommend her to anyone with any type of dog.
I cannot say enough good things about Jen & her daughter, AZ. They were AMAZING!!! I was coming up to Santa Barbara for a wedding, and wanted to bring my fur babies along for the fun weekend. I found a pet friendly air bnb, but the rules were that I could not leave my dogs alone. Thank goodness for Jen! I was SO worried as I don't trust just anyone with my dogs. From the first time I called in and spoke to Jen, I could tell immediately that I really liked her. I was able to book her for both Friday & Saturday night for wedding festivities. Jen, who is fully insured, showed up early to meet "the girls". My two shy Italian greyhounds instantly fell in love with her (they usually take a while to warm up to strangers). This made me feel SO comfortable to leave them. She truly has a way with animals! Jen sent me photos throughout the night, which was great! I had the pleasure of meeting Jen's daughter the following night, who was equally as sweet and just as good with animals. The girls loved her too! Jen & AZ saved my weekend. They made my trip that much better!!! I cannot thank them enough! I highly recommend Jen's services. She is extremely professional, kind, funny, and an all around good person. My dogs loved her & AZ! Thank you Jen & AZ for making my life that much sweeter! I will def be recommending you to anyone and everyone I know that's planning a trip up to SB that needs a pet sitter.
Best dog sitter we have had for years. We travel a lot and at times need a sitter in the hotels the be with our schnauzer. She is getting old and needs TLC. Jen is amazing friendly and most of all I could tell she loves animal's and they love her. Do not hesitate to hire her for your pet. You and your pet will be very glad. Dubby
Had to leave town for work with short notice, no place to take my 2 dog's....Called Jen and she was vary accommodating on short notice, watch both my dog's for 3 days!!!!..fees are vary reasonable. Will use her again but will try and give more notice (:
Thank you Wasim! 💗🐾 …

It is hard to find a pet sitter who you can trust and you know that cares about your pets just as much as you do, but I have found that with SB Animal Things. Athena and her team are some of the nicest and most caring people I have ever met. They truly went above and beyond when it came to taking care of my two dogs while my husband and I were out of the country. Athena sent me updates daily (you can opt out of this, but I loved it!) that were thorough and included photos! We were able to enjoy our vacation that much more knowing our pets were in such good hands. Athena also stayed up all night one night since there were fireworks in our neighborhood which traumatized one of our dogs. She also made sure our house was clean when we got home which was amazing to come back to. I would highly recommend this business for pet/house sitting! They do a great job and can customize quote options based on you and your pets needs. I have also used them for dog walks, a doggy taxi when I wasn't able to transport my dog from one place to the next, and for dog baths (they come to your house, pick up your dog, wash them and dry them and drop them back off!). SB Animal Things offers so many great services!
Athena did an excellent job caring for my dog. She sent wonderful updates and photos to let me know how he was doing and made me feel that she cared and that he was both comfortable and cared for. My house looked great upon my return as well. I could tell my pup missed her when she was gone so I know he was a happy boy. Both she and Chase are wonderful, caring, and very professional, and I can't recommend them highly enough.
I would recommend Athena to anyone with pets! Athena watched our two dogs and our cat in our home over a weekend. Our pets never had a sitter in our home before. Our dogs get used to people easily, but it was how she cared for our cat that makes me appreciate her so much. Our cat is not aggressive but doesn’t engage with new people. Another sitter might have picked him up and stressed him out but not Athena! She gives regular updates so I know he stayed away from her the first day, played but didn’t get too close the second day, and actually let her pet him her last day. I’ve NEVER seen my cat voluntarily go up to anyone new! When I got home, my cat was loving and it was clear he wasn’t stressed at all. Athena respected my pets and gave each one great care, making it a comfortable weekend for all. I will absolutely be booking her whenever we go out of town!
Athena and her team are incredible. She was able to care for my 2 year old crazy Malinois and my 17 year old Aussie for nearly 2 weeks. Excellent communication and very detailed oriented. I highly recommend this company.
SB Animal Things provided outstanding professional care for our family pet and kept our house in outstanding condition. Our pup is a bit more high maintenance, and it was wonderful to know we could trust Athena to take fantastic care of her. Athena’s frequent pictures with updates were quite reassuring and comforting. Thank you SB Animal Things for the excellent care and attention to home and pet!
We have been trying to find a good pet sitter to take care of our "ZOO," which includes a dog, a cat and 5 chickens, one of which is a rooster. We are so relieved that we found Athena who took such loving care of them as if they were her own. She is very reliable, conscientious, patient and reasonably priced. We were gone for 4 days and had her do 18-hour overnight visits, which included a mid-day visit. I left a detailed set of instructions to help make things easier for her and she paid attention to the details and simulated their routine. She is very communicative, responsive, and thorough. She sent texts when she arrived and when she was leaving, as well as sending us cute photos during her visit. Athena contacted us if she had any questions and kept us in the loop as to how things were going and any concerns that she had. We really appreciate the excellent care that she gave them and we had peace of mind knowing that they were in good hands and being well-taken care of. We've already booked her for our next trip, and feel confident that Athena will go out of her way to make sure that they are well cared for in our absence. We definitely recommend SB Animal Things!
SB Animal Things saved my butt! Normal dog sitter was out of town and SB Animal Things came through in a pinch! Professional, prompt, friendly! I got daily updates and my dogs aren’t exactly easy (think up multiple times a night because they are old 😳). I got pictures and updates several times a day and my dogs were happy and tired when I got home. I also use SB animal things for weekly walks for my pups and it works out great! They design their services around your needs so your never disappointed!
I was so happy to find Mary and PamperPet. I know when I go away my 4 cats will be well cared for as well as my home. She truly loves animals and will go out of her way to make sure they get the best care. She keeps in touch sending photos of the cats and leaves detailed notes so I know just what they were up to! She is so kind, professional and lovely to work with! One of the best pet sitters I have had.
Mary Scott (Pamper Pet) is hands down the best cat lover I ever hired to take care of my special beloved cat Chase for the last couple of years of his life. She was completely reliable, and she took care of him as if he were her very own. She even took care of him when he became terminally ill with kidney disease. Her billing system was prompt and accurate, and she left me notes daily on how he was doing and sent me texts and photos of him daily. He was always happier when I returned from a trip if he had been taken care of by Mary. She grew very fond of him, and she came over to help me on the morning when I had to take him to the vet for euthanasia. We both pampered him and soothed him; she took some treasured photos of me holding him, and we cried together. This prepared me for when my significant other came to take me to take me and Chase to the vet for the last time. I am deeply grateful for all that she did so well to help him, to love him, and to help me.
Finally, a pet care service that provides total peace of mind! We can't say enough about the quality of care Mary and her team at PamperPet provide. They are conscientious, caring and make us feel totally comfortable leaving our loved ones for either quick or extended trips. Love the text messages and photos we receive while we are away, and the very detailed diary of their visits when we return. Our two cats love them too! Highly recommend.
When our dogs were puppies, they both went through training with Nathan. The training gave them both a solid foundation of understanding obedience commands which have proven to be invaluable at times. Our Shepherd requires extensive exercise during the day so as he got bigger we opted for a different day care environment for him. However, Marla still loves going to Loose Pooch to play with some of the friends she grew up with. She does have her dog buddies over there and she is comfortable with the staff. They keep the place very clean and take good care of the dogs. We have never had an issue. Nathan is always professional and great to deal with. Edgar is a gem!
I am beyond grateful for the incredible staff at the Loose Pooch. Paired with the training by Nathan, I can honestly say our experience was phenomenal from beginning to end. I purchased the VIP package for my 6 month old puppy who was having some slight behavioral problems. By the end of the 8 weeks, my puppy had a new attitude. He was much more happy, attentive, and well behaved. Though the services were more expensive than others in town, they were truly worth every single penny. Nothing can compare to the experience, knowledge, and love Nathan and his staff showed my puppy. Thank you so much Nathan and Loose Pooch you guys are the absolute best!
We take our young boxer here and are so pleased. We used another very popular place in town, which I have nothing bad to say about, but the dogs there were allowed to be quite rough, and our dog often came home with lots of marks and broken skin. Loose Pooch taught our rambunctious boxer how to behave herself better around other dogs. I think the staff-to-dog ratio is better here. The facility is also air-conditioned, and in the summer that’s a big plus. The staff are wonderful. We ended up doing training with Nathan Woods, and that’s a whole other story - the best dog training we could ever have imagined.
I can't thank Nathan and Loose Pooch enough for the past year and a half of my dog Romeo and my relationship. One year ago December my housemate and I adopted a fostered pit/bully mix. He had had several homes and was extremely docile. He just slept. We brought in Nathan as his/our trainer because we had only had labs and shepherds before and Romeo was not responding as they had in the past. Within minutes we saw a different dog. In only a few practice tries Romeo was walking perfectly at a heel and now a year later Romeo is happily walking without a leash and does more tricks than I could have ever thought he could do. We are going to sign up for a more advanced class and keep the momentum. The other side of Loose Pooch is the fantastic day care Romeo gets. He goes to other places too where there is nonstop playing and all of that is good every so often but I found that his anticipation upon seeing other dogs was to rough and tumble every time he interacted. With Loose Pooch the environment is fun and safe but not unlimited and without boundaries. Romeo now understands that play time is play time but down time is important too. Thanks to Nathan and the whole team at Loose Pooch. They have made Romeo the best family member we could have hoped for in just a few short months.
I cannot express strongly enough how awesome Nathan is! My girlfriend and I purchased his VIP training for our puppy Callie and the results were nothing short of astonishing. He is a true professional -both with dogs and dog owners :) The VIP package is reasonably priced for what you get and the end result is a happier dog who will be obedient for life (he has a lifetime training guarantee if you stay in SB). It truly is a lifetime investment in your pup. Not to mention he does the trainings during the week so you get daycare included. My girlfriend and I both work full time and we had been taking our dog to dioji every day and the price per day for the VIP program is almost the same (and he trains your dog)!!! His VIP program is around 3 months long and the final result was an incredibly well behaved dog who comes when called and is an even happier puppy (if that is even possible!). We take her to Hendry's beach and she can be running full sprint 100 ft away and when we call her she will literally turn on a dime. I would highly recommend the VIP training if you have a new puppy or any dog who you want trained. PS Our dog did not have any behavioral issues but Nathan specializes in training any and all dogs.
Frustrating experience. I live in Nevada and was coming to Santa Barbara for a couple of days. I needed a place to leave my dog for a few hours. I had called the staff several times ahead of time explaining that I wanted to make sure everything that they needed was done BEFORE I got there because I live so far away. On the day that I arrived, they wouldn't let me see the facilities. They never mentioned that you have to make an appointment with the owner to tour the facilities! So I'm supposed to leave my beloved dog there without seeing anything? I had arrived a couple of hours before my appointment and the person I spoke with couldn't even tell me if the owner was available. I told him that I was hesitant to leave my dog without seeing the facilities and he said "Well, whatever". Seems very unprofessional to me. Thankfully it was a cool day so I could leave my dog in our car. Otherwise, I would have had to cancel my appointments and drive back to Nevada. That is a long trip!
We have been taking our dog to Loose Pooch for four years - we totally trust the staff there to take good care of our "kid." They personally engage with the dogs and give them lots of love and attention. And our dog loves going there! He tries to open the door himself!
I signed up to have my sch-noodle puppy trained and I have been so amazed what she has learned in only three weeks. We put Potty Bells by the slider to our back yard. Within 2 days our dog, Pepper, would walk over to the bells and ring them with her paw, if she needed to go out. When the trainer Nathan told me about these bells, I thought he was crazy. Now she rings them each time she needs to go out to potty. She sits, heals, stays and stands on command. We are only half way thru her training and I am so impressed. Nathan has been great!!! Pepper also goes to the day care (Loose Pooch) each day. The service has been excellent and they also have a real cute doggie shop when you walk in. I highly recommend Nathan and the Loose Pooch.
I arrived unannounced (as you should) to interview for my dog to attend daycare. The attendant in the back look like a hung-over college student who was not enjoying the dogs, and had no skill to guide their play. The visual aid that shows into the dungeon-like daycare room, shows one large room for dogs of all sizes, with no natural light. The owner of the facility came in jerking a dog around at the neck. I recognized him as the trainer a friend of mine had a few years ago. He instructed her and her husband to make the dog skip three meals in a row (dinner the night before, and breakfast and dinner the day of) before his arrival in order to make the dog responsive to him. He jerked her non-aggressive, rescue-dog around. A completely submissive, emotionally scarred rescue. Not necessary! If you have to starve a dog or jerk them around to train them, then you are NOT a trainer. Starvation and neck jerking may be seen as productive at the moment, but causes more damage in the long run. Another friend took her small brachaesophalic dog for day care. They were kindly called to inform them that their dog had sustained a dog bite, but no one was able to explain how or when it happened. Oops. Before the owner returned, I was allowed no information from the attendant, who left the group of dogs alone, in the back to come out and see what I needed. He stated that only the owner is allowed to give daycare or training information. I asked a couple questions. All of which he said he wasn't allowed to answer. Odd customer service; especially since it was also shared that the owner is not there often. Huh? I have great hope (for the welfare of the dogs in your care) that you are able to see the err of your ways and refine your business practice. I am sure that their are other people with a positive response, so I am not insinuating that the business is 100% terrible. Just the portion that I saw. I am sure that there are wonderful people involved in some aspect of the business, which is why I feel badly being this honest in my review, but I truly hope that it helps.
Poor management. I couldn't even try this place. The manager was very rude and said that they just accept dogs that are more then 30 days with the owners. Nothing was mentioned over the phone to me. I explain that I just adopted her during the call and even explaining everything I had to rush to find another place because I had to come back to work. Nothing is mentioned about this rule on their website as well. My advise to the owner, change your Manager! I' m a reasonable person, and I understand you have rules.... make your rules clear to the customers and teach your staff how to communicate better.
My dog (Riley!) loves the staff at Dioji in downtown Santa Barbara. She’s a people dog, and the crew at Dioji give her plenty of attention and affection, while encouraging her socialization with the other dogs. I’m so grateful for this wonderful resource for my pup.
They took great care of my dog on a trip and were accommodating to a vacation based schedule. The prices were pretty reasonable, although charging to feed my dog was a little strange (it’s pet daycare - do you not expect them to eat at all? Why charge a fee per meal if food is provided by the owner?) Overall though, I had a good experience and would recommend using them. I’d use them again in the future if I was in the area.
My one-year-old Aussie absolutely adores this place, and so do I. From the moment we walk in, the staff greets us with warmth and enthusiasm, making us feel like family. The facilities are top-notch, with spacious play areas that are clean and comfortable, and even a swimming pool (my little man’s favorite) for the pups to cool off in during hot days. I love that they prioritize safety, with trained staff supervising playtime and ensuring all dogs get along. What truly sets Dioji apart is their genuine love for dogs. They pay attention to each dog's unique needs and personality, providing personalized care and attention. It's evident they care about the well-being of every furry guest. I always feel calm knowing my dog is in great hands. The daily report cards and photos they send are a delightful touch, allowing me to see my pup having a blast with new friends. Dioji's flexible hours make it easy for me to drop off and pick up my pup, and their pricing is reasonable for the exceptional service they provide. I wholeheartedly recommend Dioji Dog Day Care to any dog owner looking for a safe, fun, and loving environment for their furry family member. I couldn't be happier with the care they provide!
I am never sure of whether my two dogs enjoy going there. They are not consistent with providing report cards or pictures. The past 4 times I have taken my dogs they have not provided a report card. Staff has also been extremely vague about how my dogs’ days went and there have been times when I stop by to check on them and have not seen them in the yard for 10+ minutes but I have never received reports of my dogs needing to be put in a crate for time out so I find this worrisome. Lastly, it does not seem like they provide water to the dogs. When my guys get home they seem to rush to the water and drink a gallon straight. It seems quite dangerous for dogs to be exerting themselves and playing outside without being provided water. Overall, I have very mixed feelings. Initially I felt a lot better about their communication/transparency and consistency. It seems to have gone down hill. Their play areas have also become more and more fenced off and smaller. Some employees seem annoyed by the dogs. I am definitely going to be testing out other daycares in the area.
So far so good, our dog always looks forward to going! Matthew Pollino Triple Seven Jiu Jitsu
Highly recommend this place for daycare and boarding! My husband I found ourselves in a pinch when our dog care plans for a long weekend fell through last minute. The staff was incredibly kind and empathetic of our predicament, and they were able to accommodate 3 days of boarding for our two dogs with essentially zero notice. The facility is also extremely clean and secure, and the overnight setup seems so fun for the pups -- it's like a giant slumber party!
Had a great experience boarding my pup here. I drove in from out of town and went through the first-time board process where they watch your dog for a period of time to ensure the dog assimilates well with the group. Dioji communicated really well leading up to drop off which I appreciated so I understood the check in process, vax requirements, etc. First time boarders were provided a complimentary bath. Seemed like my pup had a fun time and they have a nice space for play and lots of dog fun. Would definitely return here.
My dog cannot wait to get to Dioji in the morning! He has so much fun and comes back tired :) the staff are plentiful and friendly and the facilities are clean and fantastic. Highly recommend.
Our pup has grown so much since attending Dioji! Being around the staff and other dogs has helped her gain confidence and become less anxious around strangers. The staff is communicative and kind!
Most friendly and passionate staff. Clean and safe facility that maximizes fun for the dogs. They also send very cute report cards and let you know if they notice any abnormal behavior or potential health issues.
Nathan helped us with our coonhound who we would have never felt comfortable having off leash before (scent hound, crazy prey drive). Now he can safely walk with us off leash on the beach and in the park, no problem! We are so thrilled with our pup’s progress all thanks to Nathan.
Our experience with Nathan was a wonderful one! He offered structure and very good training to our husky! He’s truly a professional and he’s very dedicated to what he’s doing. He was always there for us with answers and support to all our questions. Great job, Nathan! It’s been a pleasure to meet and work with you and congratulations to your great achievements with the dogs! We all know that what you’re doing is not easy!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Nathan. He really helped us bring out the best in our sweet-yet-fearful little rescue terrier, Nina. She used to pull on leash, lunge and bark aggressively at other dogs, and if you wanted her to come when you called... forget about it! At first we had some mixed feelings about using a chain collar, until he helped us understand that the sound of the chain rubbing against itself when pulled is what helps get Nina’s attention and focus her (which was so true). And we trusted him completely because he’s clearly such a dog lover and was so kind and patient with our girl. Now Nina is more confident with other dogs and a very happy camper! She’s great on leash and her recall is beyond what we ever expected. We highly recommend Nathan — he’s 100% Nina-approved. 😀
I have always wanted a dog to heal, on and off leash. I finally have that. We started with the 8 session package and switched to the VIP sessions half way through. We have really enjoyed working with Nathan and watching our dog mature in to a really well behaved dog. He explains the techniques and the reasoning behind it, which I really enjoy. I also appreciate not treat-training. Nathan is always encouraging positive reinforcement, not treats, which really works for us. At our last session, he mentioned that she is still a puppy and I actually forgot - she is so well behaved. We don't have any issues with recall or heal, even at the dog park. I am having so much fun with her, we are so grateful for Nathan and all his work.
Nathan Woods is absolutely one of the best dog trainers you can find. I have known him for over 10 years and has trained my American Bulldog who had behavioral issues after an illness as a puppy and being displaced from a 2009 wildfire. He helped integrate her to society and she became a very friendly and sweet dog to everyone she came across. Nathan is now training my German Shepherd since she was 2 months old and she has surprised many in terms of her nature and behavior. I highly recommend Nathan and we call him the “ dog whisperer “ of Santa Barbara My German Shepherd will be 2 years old on April 5th, 2020 and she has gone through and beyond Obedience Level 2 training with Nathan Woods. She has earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate and she is currently working as a Service Dog. She travels with her handler, she goes on Airplanes and Restaurants with him. At the same time Nathan Woods has taught her to pick objects (medicine bottle) off the ground and retrieve them back. He also has shown us not to allow her to integrate with strange dogs so that she never experiences any sort of aggressive reactions. In return, when she goes to play with other dogs at Loose Pooch, all who have been interviewed by Nathan she can play happily with them with no fear. Nathan continues to follow up with her and is always there for us whenever we have any concerns.
We adopted a wonderful dog and found out she is mostly Great Pyrenees. It is a very sweet breed but they are not the easiest to train. Nathan has worked with her and us to make sure we know how to best interact with and train our dog. He is passionate and knowledgeable and has made our lives way easier. We feel really confident and consistent with how we interact with her and it has made a huge difference. I can't recommend Nathan enough.
I highly recommend Nathan Woods as an excellent dog trainer! Nathan Woods taught US to train our dog. As a result, our dog is a pleasure to be around. His 8-session training package is organized and thorough. Nathan is available to answer questions as they arise in person at your sessions and by phone. After following his methods, we have a calm and tuned-in dog. At each session, Nathan works by meeting with you for 35 minutes to an hour and teaching you the new skill to work on with your dog. You leave the session with a new spreadsheet of skills to practice methodically over the next week or weeks. Then, once those skill are mastered, you meet up with Nathan for a new set of skills. His methods are not treat-based. He teaches everything on a 6-foot leash, eventually graduating our dog to an e-collar to be used in off-leash areas. If you are willing to put in the effort at home, his methods work. Go for it!
Before coming to Nathan, I was super frustrated and felt like a bad dog owner. My young beagle was stubborn and independent, and the typical puppy classes at the SPCA didn’t help much. I never thought she would be able to be the off leash dog I wanted. We enrolled in Nathan’s VIP program and it changed everything. I will never forget going to the crazy crowded dog beach with Nathan and him letting her off leash, and her not taking off and coming back when prompted! I couldn’t believe my eyes. Nathan stands behind his work and always makes himself available for support and guidance, during AND after the program. I feel so assured that if daisy and I ever need a refresher, I can give him a call. Thank from a dog who can happily explore off leash and an owner who doesn’t have to worry or feel embarrassed!
Nathan really helped us with our 10 month old mini Australian Shepherd named Sheba. She is a very energetic puppy and now she is more manageable with the 8 training sessions he provided. Nathan is very knowledgeable about dogs and we would recommend him to anyone who needs a dog trainer.
I knew that this might be my last dog and I wanted him to be able to travel with me everywhere as a well behaved and trustworthy friend. Nathan helped me to achieve that. I signed up for the VIP package and I must say, I know my dog is smart but I never practiced with him so I know whatever Nathan does, it works! And I also like the fact that treats are not part of the routine! My dog is obedient because he loves me and wants to please. I have now the best dog I have ever owned! We just finished off leash yesterday. I took him out to 3 fields today to practice that, mostly to get me accustomed to him being NOT by my side. Bruno played with other dogs and when it was time to come, I just had to call. Never used the sound to get his attention. I was able to bring him back as he was about to take off into he distance with just one "Bruno Come!" and a beep and he turned around and sat in front of me. Now my dog is 20 months old, and I have never had a puppy that was so well behaved. He is still a puppy! When I walk with him in parks off leash, if I say Bruno heal off leash, he remains at my side, even when other dogs pass me. I am so used to my dogs running off to greet other dogs that I almost expect him to be gone but he is always just right there at my side. WE go to restaurants and he sits patiently by my side. We go to bars, and he sits patiently by my side. He is super socialized after staying at Loose Pooch during his training. Also, I do not believe that Bruno was taught with a correction collar until off leash. So if you are worried, don't be. I could go on but I will stop here. Just know that if you need your dog to be the best dog ever so that you can keep him by your side everywhere, Nathan is your guy! I will be forever grateful.
We dropped our 6mo old cat, Leo, at the Cathouse for a few days. It was our first time boarding him so I was a little nervous. I immediately was put at ease when meeting Malone and her co-workers; they all clearly LOVE cats and I felt so comfortable leaving him in their hands. When we arrived to pick him up he was roaming around freely and climbing the tree branches they have on the ceiling, having an amazing time. So thankful that we found this place!
We have used them twice now and both times was a great experience. My cats are older (mid to late teens), can be grumpy, and need medication. They seem to have handled it without any problems. Their staff were very kind.
I have been a cat house client for several years now. They are beyond accommodating. They know my cat. They know his ins and outs and they know where he likes to be when he checks in. Additionally, this last time that I went to go pick up my cat. My purse had been taken while I was on vacation and I wasn't able to pay when I picked him up. They were so accommodating and so understanding and allowed me to pay when my bank was open. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. My little floof does not exactly get along well with people so they carve out time in the morning for cats that aren't exactly social and they let them out and they give them their own individual time. Ace is all the way around for this place. I will be a client forever
The staff is very sweet with our kitty and thoughtful with her care.
Athena loves the place and without them it would be a challenge. Staff are super friendly.
The Cat House Hotel is the BEST! My grandmother boarded her 2 cats there for three nights while visiting a friend. Unfortunately, my grandmother fell, was admitted to the hospital and 3 nights turned into 8. Zoe and Malone bent over backwards to accommodate the last minute extension and even managed to make a connection with one of the most anti-social cats I've ever encountered. If you are anything like the stereotypical Crazy Cat Lady and are horrified by the thought of boarding your fur babies, trust that The Cat House Hotel and its superlative staff will take excellent care of them.
Outstanding boarding facility for cats. Our indoor/outdoor orange tabby enjoys his stays there! Plenty of room to roam around the hotel and enjoy the many cat poles, ledges, outdoor area and front window for sunning.
My husband dropped off our cats. He said it was very nice and felt very comfortable leaving them. We put them in a junior suite. Will absolutely use this service again!
Staff love cats and are very helpful. Or cat was 10 monts old when we dropped him off for three weeks. He looked healthy and had been using the massive climbing facilities for exercise. Sadly it appears he thought he had been discarded again. We got from a shelter in March. Once he realized we were there to get him he became very loving. This has nothing to do with Cat House Hotel. He is young. He recovered in a day once he smelled his scent around the house. Thank you Cat Hotel for keeping our little boy safe and sound. We will definitely use you again when the need arises.
We boarded my cat here for about a week and it was amazing! The staff was super friendly and patient and answered all my questions (and there were a lot). My little guy was playing with the other cats a LOT and the staff noticed he was extra hungry and contacted me to see if they could charge me for a few extra cans for him. It was so reassuring to know that they pay such close attention and care enough to reach out. It’s been a few days since he’s been home and he’s very clearly so much more relaxed and happy, I can tell he loved his stay here and had a ton of fun. I will absolutely be boarding him here in the future and cannot recommend this place enough!
Britta has been a complete joy to work with these last 8 months! Our pup used to go to a boarding facility in LA when we were out of town, but we recently moved to Santa Barbara and couldn't find a facility we trusted. We decided it was time to have a more personalized experience for our dog when we are gone and that is how we found dogs best friend! The consultation was so easy and sold us on britta's services! Britta is super responsive and even sends photo updates while she walks our pup (good for all your smother mothers out there)! We have had nothing but great experiences and couldn't be more thankful!
Brittany is awesome and I have recommended her to other people who thought she was absolutely wonderful!!! She really listens to you to understand your needs and concerns for your pets and treats each pet she works with as if they are her own. Brittany is a true professional, has the knowledge and experience to deal with many temperaments of dogs, and is considerate about every detail that goes into watching your pet, such as brushing your pet after an outing, making sure they are clean, checking paws for foxtails, etc. She also happens to be one of those people that dogs love almost instantly – even dogs that aren’t very people oriented. If you are looking for a pet-sitter/dog walker/great dog person you can really trust with your beloved four-legged family members, look no further than Dog's Best Friend.
We were in Montecito for the summer and when I was in need for a dog sitter I found Dogsbestfriend on the internet. When Brittany came over I was pleasantly surprised that she came prepared with a lot of questions which made me feel reassured that my dog Ago was in good hands. She's very professional and clearly loves pet. I loved the fact that on one of her walks she took a picture and sent it to me. When my boss was in need of a dog sitter I recommended Brittany without hesitation. Next summer Dogsbestfriend will be the one I'll call when I need someone to take care of my dog.
Hiring Brittany and Dog's Best Friend has been great for my dog Soda. Although somewhat wary of strangers, Soda quickly warmed up to Brittany. Some days I am working from home when Brittany comes to pick up Soda and take her out for her doggie social and as soon as she hears Brittany step on to the front porch, Soda runs enthusiastically to the door, knowing that she is about to head out for a good time with her buddies. When Brittany drops her off a couple of hours later, I can tell that Soda has expended a bit of energy and she's immediately ready for a nap. One of my best experiences with Brittany came under very stressful circumstances for myself. I was about to take Soda out for a walk when I opened the front gate and watched helplessly as she sprinted into the street and got hit by a car. Within seconds, she was on her feet and sprinting away. I chased after her to no avail and in a panic, I was calling all of the friends I could think of to help me look for her and no one was picking up. Finally, I thought to call Brittany and she dropped what she was doing and immediately came to help me look for her. Brittany also had the wherewithal to call the Santa Barbara dispatch and local veterinary hospitals. It was a harrowing experience for me and having somebody there to help me and provide emotional support was invaluable. Fortunately, Soda made her way home after being gone all day and I'm happy to report that after a few days rest she was eagerly looking forward to getting back out with Brittany and her buddies for her doggie socials!
Truly a 5-star experience with this loving and highly professional pet care specialist. My pups loved her and she instantly bonded with them, so I knew I had made the right choice, for my vacation plans. Highly recommended for your own pets needs.
I could not be more pleased. Britta was kind, professional, reliable, affordable, and communicative...exactly the sort of person who you can trust with your house keys and pet. She sent texts and pics nearly every day and went out of her way to make things right for our dog and us.
Revised: My pup went there for boarding. On the last day of her stay she was vomiting a lot so they took her into the vet. The staff escorted her to two different vets. Tests were ran. She was fine, her stomach was just upset about the change in diet. Overall, most staff were friendly and cared for Pepper. I did speak to the owner personally about not feeling listened to by a staff about my dogs water possessiveness. They were accountable, caring, and passionate about pet care. Seems very proactive with her company. Nice to know it is family owned. My pup did come home with two punctures on her back inner thigh and chest unfortunately. The yards are supervised, but you cant see everything I understand. Yards are a bit on the smaller side but clean.
I’ve just started using camp canine with my puppy German shorthair pointer named arrow. The staff is INCREDIBLE. They are so sweet and kind I’ve never felt so comfortable leaving my dog somewhere. She always come back with a smile :) and it’s such a pleasure to know she’s well watched and taken care of. They are attentive and facilities are super clean. Recommended all around
I've been bringing my dog Pepperoni to Camp Canine for day camp, baths and boarding since adopting him from a shelter two years ago. He loves going there! He starts getting excited when we get close. Always eager to see his friends there. And I've had only positive experiences with the staff. A very well-managed business clearly run by dog-lovers!
While visiting Santa Barbara I found camp Canine. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. The environment for dogs was so fun. The big dog section even has their own pool area. They will check to be sure your pet has their shots so bring your records. No appointment necessary.
This place is truly amazing!! Wish there were more places like this. Our pup had the best time at Camp. The staff are all amazing and all of them truly love dogs. The camp itself is gorgeously amazing for dogs. I can not stop talking about this place. Its clean and so well run. Thanks again from Elvis
First and last time overnight boarding for our family.from the rude reception at drop off to having our dog returned to us so dirty, his little face has massive tear stains from crying. Oh and he was starving!! And Who charges to bring their own dog’s food? Especially since our Frenchie is allergic to their food! $10 a day on top of an $85 per night charge!! Very disappointing all around. Our dog came home absolutely exhausted. Never again!!
Camp Canine is where our dog is happiest!
I wish there were more places like Camp Canine in the region! Every staff member I interacted with on the phone and in person was so kind, calm and patient; and even my extra nervous pup spent very little time acclimating between when we walked in to when I handed him off. When you walk in, it feels like you're dropping your pup off at a friend's home with a lovely backyard. I especially loved catching a glimpse of him enjoying himself outside when I came back back to get him 6 hours later. Above all, I loved that when I picked him up, he didn't have that smell that says, "I've been at daycare all day!" I can't wait to drop my little one off again soon!
Beckett absolutely loves Camp Canine... All of the staff is incredibly kind and patient and well well trained on how to care for animals their training skills are top notch and you won't find a better place anywhere in the area if you need to be away from your pet puppy. I highly recommend popping in and checking out the Disneyland for dogs. Tell them Beckett sent you
I will spare y'all the hundred word essay. I drive my dogs up from Long Beach anytime I go out of town for work. A+ without this place I don't know what I would do, I love my dogs so id have to quit my job. I've tried other closer options they are all horrid and if the only option was to use something like LA dog works or be homeless I'd be homeless. So thanks camp canine for keeping my emotional triggers from leading me to poverty.
Woof! This movie was BOW WOW SO GOOD! Thanks
Santa Barbara Pets Sitters are just SO awesome! They go above and beyond when caring for our entire Critter Crew. (chickens and Bearded Dragon) Each sitter shows excellent attention to every detail with a true love for all animals! Communication is outstanding every step of the way! Our family has used their services twice and couldn't be more pleased! We highly recommend SB Pet Sitters and will be using their services again very soon!
I highly recommend Santa Barbara Pet Sitters. When the sitter I had reserved weeks before bailed on me days before my upcoming trip, I called them and Tracy found the perfect sitter for me. Angela was professional throughout and sent photos and kept me informed about the outcomes of her visits and walks with my pets while I was gone. I’ll definitely be calling them again!
Santa Barbara Pet Sitters is wonderful! We feel so lucky to have found them! Cris is fantastic!
