Great family run business. They do everything they can to accommodate you. Oh, ya, my dog, he absolutely loves it there. The freedom they get when exercising is beyond anything I have seen!

Hide away Kennels is fabulous. My dog got to run and play and socialize with other dogs. The staff are friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!

We came to visit Kimberly from Alberta to go on a Ski trip with our dogs. I put our 9 month old American bully in with them for 2 days while we were on the hill and he LOVED it! I had my hesitations since people are often scared of the breed however Trevor and Stacey were great to deal with. Trevor was really good with him and even took him out in -30 weather, he came home very tired and exhausted. I loved that Frankie was able to play with other dogs and able to run in a very large fenced off area! Highly recommend this kennel and I will definitely be using them again when we are back! Thanks again Trevor!

Elizabeth was great. She asked us questions on our dogs personality, feeding schedule etc to get to know him better. We were able to come get him during our vacation to take him on walks, and bring him back later on, even though she walks the dogs twice a day. To top it all off, we ended up overpaying, and they reached out to tell us this, and we were able to swing by and work it all out later on.

Wonderful people and location. My dog was well looked after, and in good spirits after his two day stay...even though the summer heat was up to 35 degrees.

Lil Mutt is like a doggo Disneyland! My dogs absolutely love to enjoy a vacation here. The staff is kind, the kennels are clean and the peace of mind knowing that my poochies are safe and happy when I have to travel without them is priceless.

I recently lost my 15.5 year old dog Max. His health and quality of life had declined to the point where he didn't know where he was and walked in circles. I heard that Lil mutt did private crematations for pets. I contacted Shirley, prior to the Vet putting Max down, and she was so kind and understanding to what I was going through. She knew Max because she had groomed him for years. She offered to pick him up from the veterinary office and assured me he would be cremated by himself. She also assured me there would be no long wait for me to pick up his remains and would have them ready for me within 4 days. Unlike other pet crematories that have waits of up to two weeks. Shirley's soft and kind way meant so much to me in a time of such a great loss to me. In addition to this, lil mutt had groomed my dog for years, and they are the best of any groomer I had used. They would always do their best to squeeze Max in on short notice. They would groom him exactly as I asked each time. He'd come back happy and full of energy after being groomed by them. Amazing business to deal with for your fur babies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Shirley.

My dog goes to lil mutt every year. And every year he always come back more well behaved then when I dropped him off. They have amazing rates and a beautiful air conditioned kennel area. The dogs go out and play 5 to 6 times a day and get so much excercise and play with their friends. It’s extremely clean and my dog loves it there! I would recommend lil mutt to anyone who wants there dogs taken care of. Barry and Shirley are very caring and take their business of caring for your dog very serious I will drive 6 hours just to board my dog with them any day.

Dog got sick. First off we feed our dog raw food. We extended the dogs stay for a day. We let them know that we would feed the dogs when we picked them up in the morning. We were in a hurry to make an appt back home in Calgary. The man that we dealt with upon pickup did not seem to realize that we just wanted to see our dogs as we missed them. He held us up talking about non sense for over 30min all while telling us just to say hi to the dogs and go. Not to pet them or show them any affection just to put them on the leash and go. After all that when I go to feed my dog he proceeds to tell me that they've already been fed and that they feed the dogs at 9 and 4. When I dropped them off we told them that our one dog is fed once in the morning and that's it and we supplied the food. After hearing this he was adamant that he was already fed even though I knew they didn't have any more food that I supplied and I told them I would feed him myself. After getting home my dog has had diarrhea since and into the morning. I was hoping he was just unaware of what was going on but I'm assuming they just didn't listen to our instructions. He's never had diarrhea for a long time and the size of his business has never been that big for years seeing he's just on raw food. Definitely not impressed they decided to feed him whatever food especially since he always gets sick on kibble and I told them not to feed him that morning. Also not sure on when they get to go outside or anywhere other than in the kennel but everytime I was there... 4 times at random times... They were always locked in the kennel with no bedding or water it seems. The kennel is cheap I'll give them that but quality of treatment seems to be definitely lacking in what I was hoping. They say they're on 20 acres but I'm assuming they never leave the penned area which is a small building and a maybe 30 x 40 fenced off area. All in all I won't be taking my dogs back there ever again. 2 stars for being cheap but that's as high as I would rate them

I will admit it I was very disgusted by this very rude lady that worked at the pet shop , not cool of her Today we tried to call her and asked her to see if they had pee mats for my dog she was being so rude towards my bf over the phone call I’m very disgusted and disappointed nobody shouldn’t have to deal with that

Great place - air conditioned / heated kennels and shaded dog runs (and a kiddie pool when it's really hot). Lots of space for the furry kids to play.

Good value they have a very nice place for the pups! Very fair rates for what you get and they are very nice people.

Tara and her family took AMAZING care of my 1.5 year old dog. She stayed in the dog 'cabin' and was very comfortable with her own heated dog bed. I could tell she was very relaxed and at home when I came to pick her up. I would definitely recommend Happy Hounds :)

This was our first time leaving our son with a professional facility. We were searching for a boarder and spoke with Mountain paws, and from the first moment we communicated we chose them. The experience was so easing on our nerves we had a awesome vacation. The cost to service was excellent. The staff is outta this world, whatever they are paid is worth every dollar. We have used this kennel on and off for a few years & have always felt they were exceptional. We have grown to 3 dogs from 2, and they are always happy when we pick them up. Great communication as well. Would highly recommend.

Our dogs love going to the Playpen and always come out happy and tired. We also appreciate the peace of mind we feel knowing that our dogs are well cared for and get plenty of stimulation and play. The staff are always friendly and kind and show affection towards our dogs. We feel very fortunate to have such a great place to bring our dogs for daycare.

My dog loves her time here and all the staff (if she could talk I’m sure she’d rather be here than at home). She’s always happy at pick up, and soaks up as much love as possible. She loves the occasional weekend boarding when we’re out of town, and always looks fantastic after a groom. Her nails always look great after a trim as well, which we so appreciate as her nails are black and can be challenging to trim at times.

Beyond our expectations We sent our dogs in today for perspective. One is 15 one is 10 and never had their teeth cleaned before upon arriving back. Our dogs greeted the owners before greeting us which told us all we needed to know they were treated with the upmost respect and care as if they were their own, but when we seen their smiles we were blown away by the amazing care that was given to their teeth, and the fact that their teeth look like their puppies were given An excellent explanation of care 110% get it done you won’t regret it for one minute and your dog will have better health and live longer. I am so pleased. I can’t wait to show everybody I know and tell them about it.

Juno enjoyed staying there and making new friends - canine and human. She stayed in the VIP Suite with a concierge so she had extra attention! She had her nails done while there so basically she got the Royal treatment! 🐾❤️ …

Boarded my golden retriever here for a weekends’ stay. The atmosphere and professionalism was most impressive of all doggy kennels/daycare I’ve used in the Kootenay region. Staff were very friendly and my golden was happy, exhausted, and safe as can be upon pick up. Will be my go to in the future.

My partner and I were in Fernie camping with our dog Sage and wanted to hit up the bike park for a day. Tami and Zac of Happy Hounds were great! Responded right away and were great to coordinate with. We felt great about leaving Sage in their care and knew she’d have fun while we did! Would 100% recommend them and will be using them again next time we are in Fernie!

This company has done so many great things for my dog and socializing. He’s so excited every time he sees the truck coming.

CASSIE IS AMAZING!!! I can’t say enough about how incredible she was!! We originally booked Cassie for a night to stay with our puppers on our wedding night. Cassie met us well before we needed her. She came to our house and asked lots of very good questions. I was very impressed by all the questions she asked, not just about the dogs but as well as the house, like where is the water shut off is and electrical panel just incase. She was so thorough! Cassie has great questionnaire for you to fill out on her website. Our dogs fell in love with her immediately. She also made an another visit right before our wedding to meet my sister dogs that were staying the night too an. My sister dog who is very shy and high anxiety fell into her lap within minutes for some belly rubs, and then made us extremely comfortable leaving our fur babies in her hands. Our fur babies were going to be a part of wedding, but I didn’t want a guest handle our dogs for us and not be able to enjoy our wedding. So I asked Cassie and without hesitation she said yes!! Again she went completely over beyond and came to rehearsal to check things out. The day of our wedding, she brought lick matts and little games to our house for some stimulation for the dogs and tire the girls brains out at our house. Cassie then drove our puppers to our venue. Cassie then endured a rough rocky 4x4 road up and down a mountain to handle our pups for our wedding day. Cassie also got our girls ready and changed them into their matching collars for wedding! She kept them busy so we could take photos and the took the pups home. She took so much pressure and worry off for me and I can’t thank her enough!!! Through out the day she sent me tons of pictures and info on how the pups were making out!! And didn’t even have but took the girls for their favourite thing! A W-A-L-K. I know our 2 dogs are a hand full, she not only did amazing with our 2 girls but she took care of 4 dogs for us! She went to the extreme lengths of sleeping on our couch so she hear all the dogs throughout the night. I would give Cassie a 1000 ⭐️ review and I wish I could pay her a million dollars because she’s just that amazing! Thank you again!!! Cassie is awesome - she is very responsive and professional. Our diabetic cat requires daily medication and has strict feeding guidelines, and Cassie did a great job of giving our cat the care and attention she needs while we were away. We are so thankful to have found a reliable pet sitter in the Cranbrook area and will definitely be using her services again in the future!

An incredibly valuable service in the community, both for pets and pet parents. Cassie's skillset with nervous dogs is beyond amazing, and I completely trust her caring for my pup with stranger-danger issues. Cassandra took excellent care of my cat Minnow, with daily updates and photos as well as special treats. Her care went above and beyond my expectations and I appreciate the warm and loving relationship she developed with Minnow (who really misses her!)

She is the purrfect sitter! Honestly don't know what I would do without her. My cats adore her and she takes such good care of them. She takes wonderful photos of them daily and keeps me posted with how everything's going. I'm usually really anxious traveling but I don't worry at all when I know she's taking care of them. Bonus she also tidies up after them since they can make a mess with the litter and cat nip. Thank you so much for keeping me at ease and taking such good care of my fur babies ❤ 🐱 👍

We had such an incredible experience with Cassie! She went above and beyond what we expected while looking after our 2 dogs and 2 cats. We were very worried about leaving them all, as they can be difficult with their feeding and daily meds, however our animals absolutely adored her, and she made the process as easy as possible! We appreciated receiving the daily updates and amazing photos from her. She truly cared for our animals as if they were her own, and we couldn't recommend her enough!

Fantastic service. We feel so privileged to have a pet sitter whom we can trust completely with our pets and our home. She takes such good care - brings in mail, sends you updates, will take care of plants if need be, sends daily updates with photos if you'd like that and always leaves the house SPOTLESS! Cassandra is absolutely wonderful with my 2 kitties! I have one cat that hates pretty much everyone, and he was instantly in love with her. I love all the photos and videos I get while I’m away, and you can tell she really cares for your pets, she talks to them, plays with them a lot, even spoon feeds one kitty his medicine when he’s being finicky! We are so lucky to have found such a wonderful sitter to come take care of our house and cats while we are away :) ❤️

Our two dogs stay regularly at Kootenay Canine and always come back happy and well excersized. They love going out to play for daycare days when I am busy or working. We recently had them stay for a month while we travelling and didn’t have to worry once about their care. It is never easy leaving your dog with someone, especially when your dog is a "challenging" GSD. Ty and her team put us instantly at ease from the moment we arrived for our first meet and greet. It is readily evident they understand dogs and they truly enjoy working with them. The facilities at KCA are immaculate. They have invested a great deal of time and money making their place not only functional, but also confidence inspiring with its intelligent layout and clean appearance. All our questions and concerns were answered. They suggested we bring our dog out for a day before her first over-night. We highly recommend this approach as it familiarizes the animal with the kennel and the staff with the animal. It also put us at ease because we could use the day stay as a trial run before our dog's first over-night. Ty assured us all went well and she had no concerns about having our dog stay over-night. Our dog's first multi-day stay went great. Ty gave us updates and even sent pictures of our dog having fun out in the snow. We strongly recommend KCA to anyone in need of a kennel either for day care or extended stays.

Our Puppers loves KCA! Always tired when we bring her home. Everything is clearly communicated before arrival. I like their system, makes drop off and pick up quick and easy. Overnight stays are reasonably priced too. Great place and good people that take the bestest care of your pets.

Ty and her staff are very knowledgeable. They treat the dogs almost like they were their own. My pup enjoys her daycare time, always barking when we arrive to show her excitement about playing with her friends. They care about the dogs’ comfort, covering them or moving them around in order to keep warm. Kali gives the owners and staff a high five paw bump!

Kootenay Canine is such a great place. We take our dog there twice a week for daycare and she loves it. Always gets a wash at the end of the day and comes home happy and tired. We also board her and feel confident that she is being taken care of properly. Ty and the team at Kootenay Canine Adventures are amazing! My rescue pup has some stranger danger and can be dog selective - the folks at Kootenay Canine are so patient with her and she has a blast! They have different play areas for dog with different play styles, she goes on a huge off leash adventure daily, and also gets some much needed quiet time. I love that they post pictures on their instagram every day and it makes me so happy to see my dog having the time of her life. She comes home from 'camp' happy and sleepy! What more could you ask for in a doggy daycare and boarding facility?

Picture valley is one of the few places i trust to watch our 2 large dogs. The facility is immaculately cleaned, lots of room for the dogs and the owner is knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy. When we leave the boys there we know they are safe and well kept. Highly recommend and cannot wait to book again.

Such an amazing place for dogs! We struggled due to having an unfixed female, Elaine was so kind to our situation. This was the first time boarding our pups with someone other than family, safe to say they were treated just like family. We will not hesitate to use Picture Valley again, great environment and they treat animals so well.

We couldn’t recommend Elaine and Picture Valley high enough! Our dog has an absolute blast there, and the last time she was there from Thursday to Sunday and her tracker said she played/ran 28km! Needless to say that when Elaine tells you they play and run the whole time, they really do! No one can take care of your pup with so much love as Elaine does! 10/10 recommend.

I could not say enough good things about Elaine and her facility. I have fair weathered dog and she did an excellent job at keeping him warm and exercised. The best part is your dog gets a routine as close to being at home as possible. Elaine is professional, organized, great at communication and kept us updated while we were away. The facility is beautiful! lots of room in the runs, well maintained and clean. Since there is limited space, you know your dog is getting the attention and care they would get at home - including some playtime with the other dogs. Highly recommend and will be bringing our little guy there again!
