Tulip loves to see her friends at Chico's. She is a rescue and is usually scared and aggressive towards strangers but she immediately was comfortable here and now it's her favourite place to go.

Working with Jodi and Darwin was fantastic! I would highly recommend Chico's Place to anyone looking to board their dog in the Krestova area! I have a reactive Australian Cattle Dog and had never boarded him overnight prior to at Chico's Place. From our first call, Jodi instilled confidence in me that she had the expertise to accommodate his needs. She was very accommodating of my drop-off and pick-up times, even waiting for my arrival at the front gate to the property. During his stay (~ 30 hrs), I received photo updates that also helped settle my mind - which were very much appreciated. If in the future I am in the area again, I would definite use their boarding and day care services again.

I felt so comfortable leaving my dog at Chico’s place. Jodi is so friendly and good with the dogs. She gave me a tour of the place when I arrived, and I was really happy with what I saw. Jodi was really helpful and accommodating when I was too sick to pick my dog up on the day I had arranged, and she didn’t hesitate to let her stay another night. I will leave my dogs there again in the future. Also, great rates. I would highly recommend Chico’s Place :)

I dropped off my older Brittany Spaniel for a week while I was on a ski trip and Jodi was great. He was allowed to hang inside because it was a colder week. She sent me a couple updates even though I was out of service but I received them when I returned. I would use Chico's place again if I am in the neighborhood.

Chicos place is a fun and safe place . I put my little Shorky there 5 days a week and he loves it. Is always so excited to be there when we drop him off in the morning and tied out when I pick him up. Jodi and Darwin are great people and really care about their dogs and every dog they look after as if they were their own . Highly recommend this place . Lots of yard and woods for your pet to run around in. Thanks Jodi and Darwin!!

I recently needed a very last minute safe, happy, and caring place for my pup Vader. Jodi was amazing! Jodi responded to my emails/texts right away and was able to do a meet and greet with me and Vader to ensure a good fit. While Vader was there, Jodi reassured me that he was healthy and happy. She sent me pictures, gave me updates, and was very accommodating when I asked to extend my pup's stay.

My pup enjoys her days at Chico's, she gets excited as we approach in the morning. Lots of secure space to run and play. I'm confident she receives the attention she requires to stay safe and happy. Jodi is awesome!

Beware of these frauds. My partner and I needed to go away for a night and half a day where we could not bring our beloved dogs. We visited them and both sides agreed that we bring the dogs on Saturday late afternoon. When we arrived at 4 nobody was home. We came back two hours later and they were still gone or at least did not open their door. Their dogs were running around in their yard, with filled up food bowls on the porch. Very disappointing! This get away was important for us and we had to stay home. They also did not answer the phone anymore. This is not how you do business. Not recommended!!

What a lovely experience! Sarah & her store Barks and Recreation have been recommended a few times now to us, and I’m so thankful we went with them. We ordered our Ruffland crate/crate pad & tie down kit to be shipped out via pallet—communication was fast and clear and costs were very reasonable. After the kennel arrived and I got it home, we opened the kennel door and there was a toy inside for our girl!! I 100% recommend B&R. We will be shopping here again hands down! :)

What a great shop! From a retail perspective, Barks has such a wide variety and unique array of products for your pets. They had items that I never can find in even a large city! Super helpful and friendly staff. This store has everything! Daycare, grooming, training and amazing products. Sarah has worked with our dogs for many years. She has a natural instinct for dog training that is unlike anyone I have ever met. Train your dog with her and her team — you won’t regret it. Additionally, Cam does the most beautiful pet portraits and captures your fur family’s essence so perfectly.

They have a great stock of Ruffland’s in, and were very quick to respond and easy to deal with. Shipping to Alberta was more than reasonable, easy to do, and very quick! I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

The service we received from Sarah was amazing! She was very responsive and helped get us the best quote for shipping to have a large Ruffland kennel shipped to our front door in Vancouver. The service that I received when purchasing a new dog crate was exceptional. This company is a dealer for Ruff Tough kennels and it works hard to make certain that customers are satisfied with their purchase. They offer good value for what you purchase. I highly recommend this company.

Our large rambunctious dog went for her first professional grooming experience with the staff at Barks and Rec and we can't believe how great it went. Our dog came back looking amazing even though she's a bit stubborn and not the most cooperative dog in all the land. The price was also extremely reasonable for the appointment taking about 1.5 hrs and her being a large dog! Highly recommend and happy to have found someone we can trust out pup with.

I've purchased special order coloured Rufflands, primo pads and Cato training platforms from Barks and Recreation and had them all shipped to me because I don't live in Trail. The experience was amazing and I really appreciate the high level customer service this team provides at all stages of ordering. I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

Lil Mutt is like a doggo Disneyland! My dogs absolutely love to enjoy a vacation here. The staff is kind, the kennels are clean and the peace of mind knowing that my poochies are safe and happy when I have to travel without them is priceless.

I recently lost my 15.5 year old dog Max. His health and quality of life had declined to the point where he didn't know where he was and walked in circles. I heard that Lil mutt did private crematations for pets. I contacted Shirley, prior to the Vet putting Max down, and she was so kind and understanding to what I was going through. She knew Max because she had groomed him for years. She offered to pick him up from the veterinary office and assured me he would be cremated by himself. She also assured me there would be no long wait for me to pick up his remains and would have them ready for me within 4 days. Unlike other pet crematories that have waits of up to two weeks. Shirley's soft and kind way meant so much to me in a time of such a great loss to me. In addition to this, lil mutt had groomed my dog for years, and they are the best of any groomer I had used. They would always do their best to squeeze Max in on short notice. They would groom him exactly as I asked each time. He'd come back happy and full of energy after being groomed by them. Amazing business to deal with for your fur babies. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Thank you Shirley.

My dog goes to lil mutt every year. And every year he always come back more well behaved then when I dropped him off. They have amazing rates and a beautiful air conditioned kennel area. The dogs go out and play 5 to 6 times a day and get so much excercise and play with their friends. It’s extremely clean and my dog loves it there! I would recommend lil mutt to anyone who wants there dogs taken care of. Barry and Shirley are very caring and take their business of caring for your dog very serious I will drive 6 hours just to board my dog with them any day.

Dog got sick. First off we feed our dog raw food. We extended the dogs stay for a day. We let them know that we would feed the dogs when we picked them up in the morning. We were in a hurry to make an appt back home in Calgary. The man that we dealt with upon pickup did not seem to realize that we just wanted to see our dogs as we missed them. He held us up talking about non sense for over 30min all while telling us just to say hi to the dogs and go. Not to pet them or show them any affection just to put them on the leash and go. After all that when I go to feed my dog he proceeds to tell me that they've already been fed and that they feed the dogs at 9 and 4. When I dropped them off we told them that our one dog is fed once in the morning and that's it and we supplied the food. After hearing this he was adamant that he was already fed even though I knew they didn't have any more food that I supplied and I told them I would feed him myself. After getting home my dog has had diarrhea since and into the morning. I was hoping he was just unaware of what was going on but I'm assuming they just didn't listen to our instructions. He's never had diarrhea for a long time and the size of his business has never been that big for years seeing he's just on raw food. Definitely not impressed they decided to feed him whatever food especially since he always gets sick on kibble and I told them not to feed him that morning. Also not sure on when they get to go outside or anywhere other than in the kennel but everytime I was there... 4 times at random times... They were always locked in the kennel with no bedding or water it seems. The kennel is cheap I'll give them that but quality of treatment seems to be definitely lacking in what I was hoping. They say they're on 20 acres but I'm assuming they never leave the penned area which is a small building and a maybe 30 x 40 fenced off area. All in all I won't be taking my dogs back there ever again. 2 stars for being cheap but that's as high as I would rate them

I will admit it I was very disgusted by this very rude lady that worked at the pet shop , not cool of her Today we tried to call her and asked her to see if they had pee mats for my dog she was being so rude towards my bf over the phone call I’m very disgusted and disappointed nobody shouldn’t have to deal with that

Great place - air conditioned / heated kennels and shaded dog runs (and a kiddie pool when it's really hot). Lots of space for the furry kids to play.

Good value they have a very nice place for the pups! Very fair rates for what you get and they are very nice people.

We were visiting the area and needed some doggy daycare for a couple of hours whilst shopping in Nelson and also another full day for us to go cycling without our 2 labradoodles. Nadia couldn't have offered a more perfect service for us. She has a really good screening service and once you are "in" it's great. Such a lovely personal service, home from home for the dogs who came back tired but happy! Couldn't ask for more! Thanks again Nadia!

The Wallis' Pet Boarding was super responsive and professional with us while we made arrangements to visit Nelson. Ultimately those plans had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions in the area. Nadia was kind and understanding. I will be reaching out to Wallis' Pet Boarding next time we are planning to visit Nelson. Highly recommend.

I have my dog at Sam's Pet care at least once a week, often over night and for extended stays up to 7-10 days at a time. My dog is absolutely well cared for and loved. She is thrilled to spend time with them, and I feel they always have her/our best interest at heart. I trust them with my furry family member absolutely!

Best service ever! Sam & Janis go above and beyond for their clients - human and furry. Excellent communicators, compassionate and caring. Very reasonable rates. We are lucky to have folks like them take care of our little girl when we're away. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

Fantastic dog care I highly recommend! Myself and Stuie have been a client of Sam's Pet care for over 10 yrs. There is nothing more assuring, than to see your pet getting so excited to get out of the car and join Sam and the others! The care and treatment of pets is outstanding. Gracie's is the best kennel ever. We love that the dogs spend so much time playing outdoors, and that there is designated rest time for them as well so they don't get over tired. Our blue heeler has so much fun and is always so happy, exhausted and calm when we bring her home. Staff is fantastic and trustworthy, and the price is great! Highly recommend for daycare or overnight boarding!

Our 2 dogs just had their first overnight stay at Gracie’s. After a couple successful daycare visits to help with the transition, we knew they were going to love it! The staff at Gracie’s have been nothing but accommodating and welcoming. Our 2 pups love spending time with their 4-legged friends. And we have the peace of mind they are somewhere safe and getting all the love and affection they need.

We are so grateful to have found Gracie’s, it has changed our lives! Our dog, Otto, isn’t the easiest fella to just leave with friends. He’s big and loud and a bit needy. When we first started taking him to Gracie’s we were nervous so we introduced him slowly with increasing overnight stays - but it was obvious pretty quickly that he was in good hands. We took our first vacation in years this year and now we know that we have a safe and fun place to leave him for a few days, or even a couple weeks if we are leaving town. He gets love, exercise and has fun! Gracie’s sends photos and makes sure we know how much they enjoy having him. He comes home happy and relaxed. It’s such a wonderful thing to have them! We have used Gracie’s Kennels 4-5 times now for our dog Luna and it has allowed us complete peace of mind while out of town. They are so wonderful to deal with , I recommend their services to anyone looking for their dog to be well taken care of ☺️

This was our first time taking our dog to a boarding place so felt a bit bad just dropping off our pooch for the night. But the staff there are lovely and our dog had a really good time. We will definitely be back again.

Best dog kennel we've ever been to! The owners care about and love the dogs. It is clear. There is a nice big outdoor space the dogs get to play in. Our dog is reactive to other dogs so there is an option for him to have private outdoor time! We love it, he comes home happy and tired every time. We will continue to use this kennel for as long as we live here!

Our lovely Linda Loo loves going to Gracie's! She's a spicy girl, but we can leave her with Gracie's knowing they understand her completely. We always feel relieved and content knowing Linda is, too!

We recently had our 1yr German Shepherd stay for 14 days. It was her first boarding experience and she seemed to love it. She was excited to return after her 1 night trial stay a few weeks prior, and returned home exhausted and happy. The (almost) daily instagram stories were great, I loved seeing that she was playing well with other dogs. The staff were friendly and capable, and we will absolutely be staying there again when we travel and cannot take our pup with us.

Great family run business. They do everything they can to accommodate you. Oh, ya, my dog, he absolutely loves it there. The freedom they get when exercising is beyond anything I have seen!

Hide away Kennels is fabulous. My dog got to run and play and socialize with other dogs. The staff are friendly and professional. Definitely recommend!

We came to visit Kimberly from Alberta to go on a Ski trip with our dogs. I put our 9 month old American bully in with them for 2 days while we were on the hill and he LOVED it! I had my hesitations since people are often scared of the breed however Trevor and Stacey were great to deal with. Trevor was really good with him and even took him out in -30 weather, he came home very tired and exhausted. I loved that Frankie was able to play with other dogs and able to run in a very large fenced off area! Highly recommend this kennel and I will definitely be using them again when we are back! Thanks again Trevor!

My dogs came home happy and well cared for. I was very nervous leaving them as they have separation anxiety. It was great knowing that I could leave them somewhere and not worry about them while our family went on a trip. We will definitely use their services again in the future.

We left our collie here to attend our daughter's wedding in Nelson. We are from out of province and had never used a kennel service before, so we were somewhat apprehensive. The woman made us feel at ease and made it very easy and comfortable for us. The fact that she was also a collie breeder and was familiar with our dog's bloodline was fantastic. She also knew the breeder where we got our dog. On pick-up our pet was happy and appeared well taken care of. I would recommend this kennel wholeheartedly!

I have 3 Belgian Malinois that are each a LOT of work. I trust very few people to understand and meet their needs. Koliako has always been accommodating to me and my pups. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s clean and secure, which is all that matters. I know my dogs are in good capable hands when they’re at Koliako.

Kornelia is amazing and her love for animals really makes her business what it is! Our dog has some very specific needs and we always feel 100% safe and at peace leaving him in her care.

I left my cat at their boarding kennels. When we picked him up, he was healthy, happy and attached to the other cat. We will be back.

We had our dog stay at Tiger Mountain Kennel, when we picked her up we could tell that she was well taken care of and that they paid attention to her during her stay. I'm grateful that we found this business as we will definitely be utilizing them again! Highly recommend!

We absolutely love TM Kennels! John and Jane care for your pet like their own. I especially love that they walk your dog as part of the stay. They are also attentive to any special needs or requests. The kennels have been recently renovated so there is a heated indoor space that can be closed off from the outside dog run. We are repeat customers for a reason 🙂

What a lovely family-run business! I took my 10-month-old pup here during a family vacation and to be honest, I was a bit nervous to leave him. I shouldn't have worried. They took great care of him -- I'm sure he loved his three walks a day on their beautiful property. Everyone I spoke to was just so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough!

I am sorry to say that I cannot possibly recommend this kennel. I got my kitty with them for long stay - 27 days while I was in vacation - and when I got him back he was a totally different cat. From a very excited, playful and loving kitten he cam back a very shy, scared and looking lost kitten. I can only come up with ideas about might have happened but I dont have any proof so I'll just leave it to how my experience or rather my cat's experience was and you decide for yourself. Additionally I was not happy with their communication efforts. I really needed to insist for them to send me a picture of my kitten once a week.

Just the sweetest man on earth! I had to have my cats out of my home for a few days as the roof was getting re-done (which is way more stressful than just being away from home). Felt absolutely comfortable leaving my kitties in his care, it is clear he does this because he loves it! That says a lot about someone and their intentions ♡♡♡ Highly recommend!

We've been using Tiger Mountain Kennel for years and have always been very happy with the care our dog receives. Norm is wonderful and clearly cares about the animals and his business.

Took our babies here last minute and they nicely accomodated. Norm is super sweet and took good care of our pups. Only wish they accepted credit cards for payment -- cash or check only.

This is a wonderful place. Norm is our own dog whisperer. I take Max and Oliver there and they love it. Always happy to go and happy to come home. I give my highest recommendation.

The owner of the TMK is very nice. I'm thankful for all they did in taking care for my pet son.
