Tug Dogs and owner Erin was one of the best finds in our first-time dog parent experience. We began with trainer Rebecca on some foundational training for our puppy, Bandon. These days we take him to Tug Dogs for doggy daycare 2 - 3 times per week, as well as for boarding. To say we have peace-of-mind when our dog is at Tug Dogs is an understatement! We know he is safe, having a total blast, and getting all of his high-energy needs met running, wrestling, and swimming with the other pups. Erin is incredibly knowledgeable and takes great care in grouping the right pups for play, and knows/helps reinforce everything we’re working on behavior-wise. She’s also great at posting regular updates and we love being able to see what he’s up to during the day! Our dog is incredibly friendly and well-socialized with other dogs and we know it is all because of the positive experiences he has with all his doggy friends at Tug Dogs. Highly recommend Erin and her team!!

I think Erin with Tug Dogs is the 11th trainer that we contacted for help with our sweet but very sensitive 5 year-old dog. She is the only one who actually helped us make progress. She did this by teaching us how to recognize our dog’s emotions so that we can make sure to help him feel safe, which resulted in a significant decrease in his problematic behaviors. My dog is a much happier and more well-adjusted version of himself thanks to Erin guiding us on how to best support him. She has truly changed his life, and ours, and I could not be more grateful to her. I trust no one more than her when it comes to dog behavior.

This positive review has been due for a long time. Loba has been one of Erin and Tug Dogs team's clients since he was 7 months old. Debby, Loba’s big sister, joined us when she was 2 years old. We sent Loba to Tug Dogs for a 3-week board and train program 3 years ago, followed by twice-weekly daycare and boarding whenever we needed to be out of town. He has come such a long way, from being a timid, fear-aggressive dog to becoming dog-friendly and able to socialize with guests visiting our home under our guidance. We never thought these days could happen, but our dream came true with the tremendous help from Erin and the Tug Dogs team. They also offered customized new dog introduction lessons when we knew Loba desperately needed a companion. They helped us introduce Debby to our family and settle them into their new environment smoothly. Now, Loba and Debby are best friends forever, and I can’t imagine anything separating them. If you are struggling to get your life back in order, need peace of mind with dog training, daycare, and boarding, we cannot recommend trainer Erin and Tug Dogs highly enough. She saved my boy’s life from behavioral euthanasia and brought our life back on track. Now, we can go to restaurants, camping, dog parks, and anywhere else that is dog-friendly with our two fur babies. Our dream wouldn’t have come true without their professional help.

Finding Tug Dogs has absolutely been the best thing for my boy Joey and myself. Erin and her team have worked wonders with Joey, who went from shy and anxious, to an outgoing and much more confident dog. I use Tug Dogs for their boarding, daycare, and specialized training. Not only is Joey growing and gaining confidence, I am learning a tremendous amount about how to love and care for Joey the ways that will benefit him most. Ongoing socialization is crucial for the well-being of most pups. Tug Dogs provides a safe setting for just that. I am not a fan of dog parks and feel comfortable leaving Theo with Erin for the day. He absolutely loves spending time with her and the playful four-legged friends. We love Tug Dogs!

As a local trainer, I greatly appreciate connecting with fellow trainers in the community. My history with Erin goes way back to her Puppy Love Dogs days before she established Tug Dogs. Erin played a pivotal role in shaping my training career, and I owe much of my growth to her expertise. My pup, Luka, did a board and train with Erin. It was peace of mind to know while on vacation, Luka was in the great hands. Erin and the Tug Dogs staff have been a huge, amazing help for my reactive dog. We've gotten coaching on training techniques, advice, troubleshooting and board and train and every time I've seen clear improvement in my dog's behavior and walked away with a solid understanding of how to continue the work. A couple of years ago, my husband and I adopted a stray dog from the Placer SPCA. We knew nothing about this three year old boxer-mix; she had no name and no history. We knew she was adorable, very sweet and could walk on a leash and that was all. We didn’t know if she liked other dogs or children, so we needed an expert to decode our pups body language for us. We reached out to Erin at Tug Dogs hoping she could help us. After a one day observational visit at Tug Dogs, Erin knew just who our new girl was! We arrived to see our girl playing with other dogs (what a relief). She had tailored a plan just for us and our Roxy girl. Roxy now visits Tug Dogs regularly to spend quality time socializing in Erin’s playgroup so that positive reinforcement there, makes her a success every where we take her. She is so well behaved that she is invited back every where we visit! Roxy is a social butterfly, confident, well mannered under all circumstances and we have Erin and Tug Dogs to thank for that!!

The Trainers Course was so informative and covered so much. The format was easy to follow in that not only was there the lecture but instructional videos on every aspect of the training. The sections on behavioral and client coaching were so helpful. I have followed Erin and Tug dogs on social media for awhile, I am very impressed with her success and training methods. Cindy is taking care of our 2 cats now for quite some time now. They love her and she sends us pictures and short videos every day. She’s taking great care of the cats and our house too. She is very thoughtful and thorough and trustworthy.

Our kitty knew Cindy when they first met; don't know how, but it was comforting from a pet mom/dad point of view. Previous care was reliance on friends/neighbors/family. Trust of your home and your pet to a sitter was very important in selecting the right person. We have used Cindy many times and are so grateful to have her as trusted sitter.

We had a great first experience with Cindy watching our big goofball dogs. Cindy took notes at our meet and greet. Plus her forms ask all the important questions to make sure your pets get the best care. Pics and videos showed how much our boys enjoyed Cindy's visits! River dogs resort is absolutely amazing! I am a bit overly protective of my dog and I never hesitate to leave him at River dogs resort. He can tell when we’re pulling into their driveway and is immediately excited. He gets to play with lots of friendly dogs all day and I never have to worry about how he is doing. The owner, Dina, is a true dog lover and treats all the dogs as if they are her own. She is flexible and always looking out for what will be best for your dog. My dog is an 85 pound German shepherd mix who has lots of energy and he always comes home happy and tired. You should look no further if you want a place your doggo will love.

River Dogs is a home-away-from-home for our 2-year-old Golden Retriever, Emma. She is always in a good mood after we pick her up. River Dogs is considered a second home for my dogs. I have been a faithful client for over two years (2-3 days a week) and have only great things to say. River Dogs is the best! our dog loves it there and the owner is so nice and helpful and loves dogs! our flight was canceled at Christmas and rescheduled for days later after we had already dropped our dog off. River Dogs extended our kennel time so we could spend longer with family and took such good care of her. so helpful and understanding!!!!! will always go there!!!

Yep, a 5 star review for Dina and River Dog Resort! We needed a last minute fun and safe spot for our 12 yo American Foxhound and were so happy Dina had an opening for Chuck. Shortly after arriving, Chuck was adventurous and tried to escape by scaling a fence but Dina did not let that affect her ability to provide safe and loving care for his stay. Upon our return she told us what happened and figured out solutions for his next stay communicating in a professional, caring and understanding way. We are impressed and highly recommend RDR!

Our boxer Abbey LOVES going to see Miss Dina every week! Abbey always has such a fun time playing with her dog buddies. We also board our dog here a few times a year and always know she will be very well taken care of. River Dogs Resort is such a great location and we will never go anywhere else!

Dina and her staff have been taking care of our two large dogs for about 5 years now! They were always responsive and easy to do pick ups and drop offs. The pups were always well cared for, happy to go(could not wait to get taken back to play!!), and exhausted when we picked them up! We were very sad to move away because it was such a wonderful gift to have found such a caring place for our fur-babies! I recommend them without any hesitation!!!

We have always been a let's-find-a-house-sitter type family. We were in a pinch and River Dogs came to the rescue! We have ditched a house sitter completely now, as our rambunctious golden puppy loves to wrestle and play in their large yard while our small dog hangs out, snuggles and shares kisses with Dina. Ashleys is excellent. All three cats receive individual attention and any accidents or medications are professionally and politely dealt with. The on-line appointment and payment system is convenient and easy to use. Out pets are very well cared for while we are away!

I'm a veterinarian who has been using Ashley's pet sitting services consistently for at least five years. She and her team are so reliable! Once when I was traveling in 2018, my house was broken into, and thankfully the dogs were not let out by the burglars. Ashley and her team handled communication beautifully, as well as coordinating with my landlord and the police. I could not have felt more assured from afar that my pets (and my house) were being looked after appropriately. I trust Ashley's Pawsome Pet sitting and am so grateful for their attentive care to my beloved dogs Cali and Bijou. I still travel several times a year and use their services every time.

Amazing service! We were traveling for a week, and Ashleys Pawsome Pet Sitting took great care of our 2 cats. Cassidy was great, we received daily pictures of our kitties, and we could tell they really liked her. I’m definitely using them again!

My husband booked a second honeymoon in Cancun and I was anxious. I didn't know what we were going to do about care for our baby, Scarlett. A coworker recommended Ashley's Pawsome Pets and we are so thankful. They are bonded and they are background checked. We had a meet and greet with our sitter. Which I appreciated so much. Our sitter, Amanda, was absolutely wonderful. She came twice a day and was so attentive to Scarlett. I couldn't have asked for better! She is amazing! My favorite thing is they have a journal with pictures so you know everything that happens with your fur baby. My only con would be the extra fees that aren't 100% transparent. The service is pricey, (but worth it), however, when I went to pay the bill, there was an added fee for administration and then again for credit cards (which I use for security.,) I'm willing to pay whatever is needed for the care of my pet, but it was a tad surprising. Thar said, they are amazing snd we love Amsnda! We will be using them again in the future! The service is outstanding!! The attached pictures are from Amanda's very detailed journals!

We have used Ashley's Pawsome Pet sitting for every single vacation we've taken the past year and greatly appreciate the services of her staff. As someone prone to worrying, the pet journals and photos her sitters take and send daily are wonderful. While I have only had two different sitters, they are always kind, professional, and follow instructions well. I feel like my cat is in good hands when I hire a pet sitter through her.

We have left two different dogs in Ashley's care. Each time, we had so much confidence about how they were faring while we were traveling (in large part because Ashley sends pictures showing how comfortable and happy they are in her home; she sends sweet messages, too). Every aspect of the visit went exactly as planned; her website is easy to use and very informative. All in all, a very professional transaction with a very loving caregiver.

Our 2 black kitties are our pride and joy and we hate to leave them but now, in our retirement years, we are finally able to travel. After asking neighbors to feed our kitties, we tried Ashleys Pawsome and are VERY happy! We can schedule half-hour or longer sessions which include feeding, catbox cleaning and playing with our furry kids. Maybe better are the timely and thorough 'journal reports' we receive after each visit! We're told hew our pets are, and what services were rendered. Let the vacations continue!

Ashley was wonderful with our 3 dogs and cat for the two days we were away. She sent me pics of all of them each time she visited them during the day and I can say, they looked really happy! We've never left them before, so this was a fantastic experience for us, but mainly our dogs enjoyed her so much as well! Will for sure use your services in the future.

Ashley is so friendly and sweet! Her family is so welcoming and loving. She took excellent care of our pups while we got married on the coast. I loved the pictures of cuddles and the daily updates. I highly recommend her, it's a wonderful alternative to boarding.

Ashley's Pawsome Pet Sitting is the best! Ashley and each of her sitters is smart, kind, and really great with our beloved, quirky, doggie family members. We always hate to be away from our fur family but we always know they will be well cared for and safe. Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.

Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.

We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

The staff here is great! Our pup had an amazing day swimming here, we are planning on coming back for daycare :) (And I must say... It's so refreshing to find a place where pitbulls are treated equally!)

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!

My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!

Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!

They have been taking care of my loved ones for nearly 40 years. I've never boarded my dogs anywhere else and hope I never have to. They give great care and love and my dogs have fun there. And I have peace of mind.

Tail Wagger is excellent for pet care! My husband and I have had Lanette coming to check in on our kitty while we're away for 6 years now. Lanette is so great. She obviously loves animals, takes great care of our cat, and is so professional. I love that she always takes photos of our kitty when she does a visit. It's so great to get to see him doing well when we're away from him. Lanette gets to know his personality and habits so she can best care for him. And, on top of the pet care, she'll even check mail, water plants, turn lights on/off, and in general take care of house needs while we're away. We've been so happy with Tail Wagger Pet Care! Would definitely recommend!

Tail Wagger has worked out great for me. It's really convenient to just be able to text or email them when I need someone to watch my cat. They are super flexible and reliable. Love getting pics of my cat every time they visit him.

I wish it was more friendly

I used to be a loyal customer and highly recommended them, but I unfortunately can no longer support them after having a deeper understanding of their protocols. Before getting into the worst of it, I'd like to point out that they have astro turf which unsurprisingly causes dogs' feet to get irritated on hot days. In their report cards, they will simply say they noticed they were getting irritated and treated them, but probably won't tell you why unless you ask. I started as a client with my husky Freya. Unfortunately she died in their care due to unknown causes. Their story was she was outside and started having irregular breathing, so they took her inside where she collapsed and died. She was 9 and had glaucoma, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though she was otherwise a healthy dog who had no problems going on 3-5mile runs with me when the weather wasn't too hot. Looking back, maybe I should have been more skeptical. When I got another husky mix, Loki, I started boarding him there and he loved it. However after a little over a year of boarding him there with no major issues other than being an overly enthusiastic husky puppy, he developed a food aggression issue while in their care. Freya had some food aggression issues when I first got her and I have taken care of multiple dogs with the problem before, so I am very well educated on prevention and training for it. When I asked about their feeding protocols, they stated that they simply drop the food in front of the dog, leave the room for an hour, and then come back in to take it away to get pressure washed whether there is food left or not. When Loki first demonstrated food aggression, their response was to attempt to remove the bowl with their foot or a fake prosthetic hand. This is textbook what not to do and will absolutely CAUSE AND INTESIFY food aggression. When I pointed this out and suggested that they should implement standard sit/stay feeding protocol, use redirection techniques, or to not try to take the food bowl away while the dog is still in the room, their response was essentially that they don't have time to do that and don't want to train their staff in standard dog handling practices. They even commented that past customers have suggested the same thing. This tells me that they are entirely aware that their protocols can cause food aggression and that they refuse to do anything about it. Apart from this incident, Loki seemed to love all the workers I saw him interact with. They all looked on the younger side, but they were extremely friendly and positive. I just wish the owners cared enough to train them better.

From my work account 3 years ago: I have a Husky mix who’s a handful, mindful but energetic. The staff have always been patient and loving towards Luna. I feel blessed to live close enough to use Local Bark. Last year I traveled almost 70% of the time for work. If it wasn’t for them I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten by… EDIT: I have since moved to Midtown Sacramento so I no longer go there but or Pomeranian gets groomed at their Power Inn location "Response from the owner 2 years ago Oh Luna! 🤗 She keeps us on our toes and we love that crazy girl so much! Amazing staff. Reasonable prices. All types of services from Daycare and Boarding, to Grooming, to Day Training, Boarding School, and Puppy Prep School. THEY EVEN HAVE A WALK-IN POOL MADE SPECIAL FOR THE DOGS!! Large & Small Dogs are welcome, as well as PITBULL FRIENDLY!!! You can tell the staff LOVE dogs, and genuinely care about what they do. Very trustworthy, welcoming, and easy to leave your pets with. The girls at the front desk and attentive and polite, and make things like checking-in your dog, or providing any information needed about the business easy. I highly recommend The Local Bark for all your Dog Care, Boarding, Grooming, Training, and occasional swimming needs!

Our dog has a great time at Local Bark... always comes home happy and tired. It's awesome that they have a pool that he can enjoy, one of the reasons I picked Local Bark in the first place. The facilities appear to be very clean and the staff are always nice. Oh, and they post pictures every day on their facebook page... so it's fun to see what your dog has been up to. Definitely recommend!

We love the Local Bark! Our dog has been coming here since she was a puppy ( she is now 9! ). We don’t use it as often as we did in the past as their prices have gone up, but when we need care for her overnight this is our go to place. They have different sized “rooms” for the dogs to stay, all day play time out back and offer grooming services as well. Our dog is happy here!

There is nothing that excites our yellow lab, Austin, more than going to the Local Bark. I usually take Austin to the Local Bark, but the first time my husband took him he passed the turn to go in to the Local Bark. Immediately Austin started barking and vocalizing. We are sure he was saying, "Dad, you missed it! You missed it! Turn around! Turn around now!! Austin just graduated from their 18 day in house training. Ivyonnne is a great trainer and Austin has made great strides in his obedience and self control. The Local Bark is an absolutely wonderful place for dogs. Austin gives it five paws up.

My puppy is very energetic and needs to socialize more with doggy friends. This was his first day at his evaluation. It made my day when I saw his picture, he looks happy and looks like he's smiling. He was happy and very tired when I picked him up because he must have played a lot. I will definitely take him on a regular basis.

Editing my review after picking up my dog.I'm so happy I found a good boarding facility! The local bark is definitely a five-star place. My big mush of a pitbull really enjoyed her 13 night stay here over Christmas!I love the pictures I got to see on Facebook of her enjoying herself. I picked her up and she was so happy and clean, they gave her a bath for me. She's practically dancing in the waiting room while we were leaving. I like that the local bark has the most rigorous vaccine requirements in the areabecause my dog came home very healthy so I appreciate it! Also not much more expensive than any place around it's affordable in my opinion and they provide trusting and safe care for your dogs. Highly recommended I will definitely use again!

Chloe has been going to the Local Bark since she was 16 weeks old. She loves all the attention she gets from the staff and has a blast with the other dogs during Play Care and Overnight visits. Love them.

My wife and I were impressed with their pet training expertise and professionalism, especially when our dogs became a bit of a handful! They were also willing to take care of our dogs and cats for only one day, which not all pet sitting services will do. The write-ups they left were thorough and helpful, and we'd definitely recommend them.

Takes excellent care of my dog, and cat. They write daily interactions with both pets. Both my dog and cat were very happy, and did not seem to have stressed-out in my absence. Our experience with Pawsitive Attention has been awesome! Jessica is our dog walker/dog lover/dog carer - and she has made my life SO much easier and our doggies love her. Getting some assistance with extra love and help for our doggies from Pawsitive Attention, is one of the best decisions my husband I have made recently. Since we have recently adopted a 3rd dog, which we are still trying to integrate with our other two dogs - things have been A LOT stressful lately trying to juggle them all seperately. Then...Jessica came a long! She is our dog whisperer and stress reliever! Our doggies look forward to her coming, they know when it is about time that she will get here and they soak up all of her love! I can come home and know that they have been walked, tired out, fed, and gone out to the bathroom. She, and Rachele, are incredibly knowledgeable about dogs, and specifically our breeds of dogs (all terriers), and have helped us immensely with educating ourselves as dog owners and how we can better address our dogs needs. I have tons of questions for Jessica about our newest doggie everytime I see her and she always takes the time to talk to me about all my questions and even brings me research and information all the time on the things that we talk about or the questions that I have. i feel like Jessica is a God send. she is amazing. Our dogs love her. She treats our doggies with so much love, as if they were her own. She is so easy going and flexible (accommodating our last minute changes in schedule more than a couple of times). She is super reliable and I absolutely trust her 100% with our doggies ( and we are definitely picky about trusting people with our doggies). She has a lot of experience working with dogs and is very confident in her abilities; it's really gives us a lot of confidence too. It's also hard to explain the whole dynamic of separating our doggies while we are trying to integrate them, etc. - but she totally gets it, understands it, talks to us about it, supports and explores the process with us, and we will likely end up calling Rachele to assist us with integrating our dogs - due to her experience with these situations. Jessica treats our dogs like family, gives them them love attention as if they were her own dogs and we couldn't be happier.

The groomer charges extra for everything outside of the bathing. 10.00 extra if you want your dog combed after shampooing, 25.00 for clipping nails and if you want any fur trimmed it's 10.00 per area. What normally costs me 65.00 from my regular groomer was up to 125.00 by the time I became disgusted and walked out. I was fortunate enough to let the older couple know why I was leaving and they Thanked me and left with their 2 dogs as well. This groomer definitely needs to get updated in this profession before continuing to advertise as a groomer.

We are so grateful to have found the team at Barkers's. Their scheduling and payment system is easy to use. They did a home visit to learn about our alarm, where pet supplies are stored, etc, so they could provide the best care. Most importantly they put such care into looking after the pets. I get a text after each visit with a little update. We love our fur baby and I trust Barkers Pet Care enough to have recommended them to a number of my friends.

I have known Kathy for years and she has a passion for animals. I recommend her often.

We have left our dogs while on vacation here 10 times over the last 3 years and they all have loved being there. The best part is they come home tired meaning they are loving it there and playing a lot!

This kennal is located in a private residence. The dogs stay in the persons home, garage and yard. Our dogs seemed to have liked it.

I absolutely love the people—every single one of them—who take care of my dog. More important is that my dog loves going there. Whenever I turn down Sierra Ponds my pup begins to shriek with delight. When we arrive I almost have to restrain him from wanting out of our car and head to the back when he goes inside. The staff truly are a delight to deal with and they treat him like a rock star. On the few times I have to travel out of town it gives me supreme confidence knowing that he is being loved and well taken care of. My dog has been fortunate to go there for well over a year now. I wish I had written this sooner to bless them because they have blessed me and my dog. I cannot imagine taking him anywhere else. He is part of the family there.

Such an idyllic place for dogs to have their own vacation. Spacious and clean. Friendly and professional staff who really care and put an abundance of time into each pup. My dog loves coming here!

I was flying out to work a horse show for 2 weeks and looked at many dog kennels to watch my 9 year old dog. Most would have cost me more money to have my dog in a cage for 2 weeks than I pay for my horse to be boarded for 3 months. On top of it all, my dog has separation anxiety from being a pound puppy. So, finding a place that didn't just have her in a cage all the time was a must. Not only was this place affordable, but they had the option for my dog to be taken out on nature walks. Since my dog is used to being loose at all the barns I work at, this was perfect for her. When I picked her up, she was happy in great shape and even groomed. She looked like she was a puppy again. I highly recommend Granite Bay Kennels and will be using them again if I'm unable to bring my dog with me to the shows.

I left a first time boarder at Granite Bay for 10 days. I was worried my 3 yo German Shorthaired Pointer would not do well and stress out and lose weight. I was pleasantly surprised he was happy and in great condition when I picked him up! In perfect weight, clean and content. I would recommend this Boarding Kennel 100% and the staff are wonderful.

Left my Cavalier here for 4 days, Picked him up that day He was sick the next day throwing up all day diarrhea all day took him to the vet. Cost me $1200 to find out he had gardia. I called and let them know and they did nothing

Granite Bay Kennels is the only place I will take my dogs!! My favorite part is that the dogs are able to play outside for most of the day instead of sitting inside. The workers have been there for years, so it's always great to see the same faces. I love this place and all the employees!

A beautiful place with beautiful dogs well kept. Very professional and friendly. We were very pleased. Besides rescuing a beautiful breed of dog, the Alaskan Malamute they also provide Kennel services. We will do business with them again in the future.

I bring my own dog and my mom's 2 miniature dachshunds here, wonderful place. They have an awesome bogo deal on nature walks and my dog is an Alaskan malamute and they give her amazing grooms before she comes home. Could never bring my girl anywhere else.

I took my two pit bulls here to stay while we were on Vacation and the dogs we very well taken care of and they were so happy. Every time I bring them back they are so excited and they love it here
